Oh my god! Now this is what you call an absolute steal. This is a small and cozy joint with amazing Chinese. Located at Golpark. A must try for each and every Chinese lover. Go for it guys.

A hidden gem of kolkata located near Anjali Jewellers, Golpark. There nothing much to say about ambience. But when it comes to food, this place serves delicious food at reasonable price- a win-win combination.
Madhuritu Dasgupta
Attended my cousin's birthday party here yesterday. The quality of the food was very satisfactory. We were served-
Chicken reshmi kebab
Fish fingers
Pan fried fish(recommended)
Egg fried rice
Veg noodles
Ice cream with darsaan
Liked each and every item, also it is very easy to locate this place situated just opposit Ramkrishna Mission in Golpark.

Nice place for group gatherings.
Food is tasty. Ordered Chicken Fried Rice and Chilli Chicken. Quantity is sufficient for two. Staffs are well behaved.

Well, Chinese food and birthday treats have an old relation! Recently, I visited Spices & Sauces.
In frame: • Chicken Hunan • Szechwan Chicken Noodles

The quantity and quality is quite enough and the specially the Chicken Hunan, the chicken pieces were big enough and was boneless, and was more than enough for two people.

Ambience: 4/5

Taste: 5/5
Spices and sauces is a two storey restaurant in Golpark which serves pretty good Chinese food. Their noodles and fish items are something you should try out first ( my personal suggestion) .
Shumedha Ghosh Dastidar
The ambience was amazing. Located in between Golpark and Panchanantala the place is quite visible to the eyes. The staff is very polite and helpful. The walls are aesthetic and Instagram worthy. The food was average. The Schezwan Rice didn't taste like Schezwan Rice at all. The starters were very tasty, better than the main course. But the place is very pocket friendly and the quantity is also good of the food.

Excellent Ambience. Food quality is very good. Polite approach with the customers. Good customer service as well. Overall it is a perfect family restaurant

Its fine and will recommend to others for this...Great place for relishing chinese dishes...Tried Hunan Chiken and Fried Rice along with starter Chiken fried wanton...

Spices and Sauces is located just beside the anjali jewellers near the Ram Krishna Mission Bus Stand. The ambience is really cozy. I personally like the hygiene and ethiquette that they maintain. The food quality is simply awesome and light as well. The chicken drumsticks in hong kong sauces is the best chicken drumsticks i ever had. The quality they provide in one dish is equivalent to proper mealing 2 people. It serves yum chicken schezuan fried rice and hot garlic is the best. The mashroom soup is also breath taking. Guys, for sudden hop up... this place is awesome! Go and get your tummy happy (in a wonderfully low budget).

It was absolutely wow because of the taste of the foods...stuffs are well mannered and courteous very nicely decorated.... Would love to come again

I don't usually review places with a comment, but this place compelled me to. This is a hidden gem. If you want to have good Chinese food which is reasonable, please give this place a fair chance. You'll be surprised at how good the food is. A perfect example of "don't judge the book by its cover." For 3 ppl the bill came to 1300/- with enough food to be packed for a 4th person.
Must try Pan fried chicken noodles, chilly pomfret and Devil's chicken if you like spicy food.
A big thumbs up to the chef.
Lots of Love
~A happy customer

Fell in love with their food when I stepped into this outlet this Puja. Every item was amazing and the decor is decent. Service is cordial and prompt. Will like to visit again soon.

It's a small restaurant opposite to the Golpark bus-stop. Ambience is good. Food is really tasty. They specialize in Indian and Chinese cuisines. The Cantonese noodles that they serve is particularly my favourite. Also the prices are quite reasonable, which is another reason why this is the first place that comes to mind when I think of restaurants in Golpark. Overall, recommended.

Happens to be a quite old restaurant situated at Golpark.
Numerous times i have been to this place, but this is the first time i am reviewing it.
Believe me the chinese they serve is way apart from any other restaurants.
They really serve heavenly chinese food,u name it and they have it.
I have always tried their Chinese only, never tried Indian coz i love their chinese too much.

This was our fixed place for office lunch every saturday. Saturday meant spices and sauces to me and my colleagues. Food tasted delicious and staffs were cordial. We had a fixed table to sit and gossip while we waited for our orders. 2yrs i have left that office but i still remember those memories. We tried each and every dish there. All were good.

Very poor quality food.ordered mongolian chicken. Chicken was full of cornflour and tasted very bad.felt instantly nauseous after eating.one should avoid this restaurant lest if you wanna feel sick.

Situated at Golpark just opposite to Ramkrishna Mission. Quite spacious and they have two floors having bright lights and well decorated interiors. The staffs were very polite and always ready to help. They had a clear knowledge about whatever they were serving.

Food

※Smoked chicken was the dish we had as starters and this is a must try dish...the taste was absolutely mesmerizing and divine...I recommended this particular dish to everyone.

※Butter naan was soft and big and very delicious it went very well with the side dish

※Murg reshmi massala was the side dish of chicken dipped in spicy and rich gravy and went well with butter naan.

※Special mutton biriyani was another favourite of mine as it was cooked in fresh ghee and i loved the smell of ghee coming from the biriyani. The mutton was so nicely cooked that it was mouth melting and very delicious.

Higly recommend to everyone. Please do visit them they just make aamzing food and they are not too expensive.

Spices and Sauces is one restaurant which has been around for some time now. They are conveniently located and the exteriors of this place are pretty. Being from the southern part of Kolkata, it was but natural to try this place out and that is exactly what we did. We had ordered Chicken Hot and Sour Soup, Chilli Chicken, Garlic Pepper Chicken, Smoked Fish, Mixed Hakka Rice Noodles, Chicken Fried Rice and Steamed Fish in Lemon Soya Sauce. Each and every dish they served did justice to their brand value and even more. It was a super experience to keep it short. We definitely plan to try out other stuff from this place in the near future and why not? They do justice to their guests, so it is in all fairness that their guests do justice back to them.

I have eaten in many indian restaurants and this is average. The service was quite friendly and efficient. Nothing much to tell about the ambience and decor. It was normal. But the Ac was not working properly. Sizzlers are rly very good. Food arrived hot and in good time. The menu contains a good number of dishes . Chicken noodles and soup were good.
The restaurant was clean - could do with some redecoration. It's worth a one time visit.
Saifa Chowdhury
Craving for Chinese brought me to this place. This near golpark and maintains a good ambiance. I order mixed fried rice with devil's chicken. The chicken was a bit stiff otherwise it was a good experience.

Kolkata is known for its food... But sadly due to the unscrupulous money making machinery of some villains the reputation is suffering. The city is being forced to rethink while eating out and even while doing so, they have to restrict their choices to vegetarian or just fish.
The other day we landed up at Spices and Sauces because a friend highly recommended it. Despite the meat scare. Thank God she did. Because after gorging on the meat there I'm still living to write this down.
All the preparations were delectable, right down to every grain of rice in the pulao. We ordered corn and cheese balls and fish fingers as starters. The fingers were stuffed with fresh bhetki fish and tempered adequately with spices. Crisp and aromatic. The smoked fish looked appetising on the menu and it didn't disappoint when we ordered our plate. A mix of Chinese spices were lightly dusted on chunky bhetki pieces, the preparation had a sweet and fiery kick to it.
For mains, we chose peas and dry fruits pulao, bhetki paturi, mutton kosha and dhonepata kachalonka chicken, after being reassured by the staff about the quality of the meat. While the paturi was a tad too pungent, the chicken was delicate yet tasty. The winners however were the pulao and the mutton kosha combination. Long grains of rice glistening against green peas and dry fruits, I think it was one of the best pulaos I'd had had. The mutton fell off the bone perfectly and the gravy was delicious...
We ended the meal with a tutty fruity ice cream... Another perfect one!

Never been to a more quiter restaurant like this one before, if you are in search of one, this would be apt. Inspite of being well located, decent food and service, this place is most of the time empty and quiet. The food is nice and pocket friendly, service staff is courteous. There isn't anything that will unexpectedly surprise you, pretty much been there ate that type, but that beautiful silence stayed with me.
Souptik Saha (The BONG Foodie)
Order food from this place and I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The food was stale.Specially the chicken was not at all upto the mark.

This restaurant is located at golpark opposite to ramkrishna mission, right beside main road. This place has nice but simple interiors. We tried green red pepper chicken and pan fried chilli fish. Both the starters were very tasty and made non spicy for us. But the cost is bit high with respect to food items.

[NOTE: I have rated this restaurant solely based on only the 3 appetizers I had.]
"Never judge a book by it's cover".
Spices and Sauces has to be that restaurant which looks pretty shabby from outside but as you enter, there's this beautiful ambiance with brilliant lighting (ideal for clicking food pictures)! When I went in for a meal, I clearly had no clue about the droolworthy gastronomical experience that I was about to encounter.

My experience summed up in 5 Points (For those who don't want to go through a long detailed review):
●Ambience : 4/5!
●Food : 4/5 (Rating solely based on the tried appetizers only)
●Quantity: 4/5.
●Value for money: 3.85/5.
●Hospitality and Service: 4/5.

FOR A DETAILED REVIEW, PLEASE KEEP READING.😊

Coming to what we devoured and how our tastebuds reacted to the dishes:
We were in no intention to go for a full fledged dinner course so we just stuck to appetizers but the quantity was so humongous that it was like a full course meal for 2 adults.

1) Chicken Wanton Soup @Rs.120.00 (3.25/5): A very mildly flavoured soup with in-house made chicken wantons, cabbage and bokchoy. The soup might appear to be a bit bland for people who believe in spicy versions of soup like Hot and Sour, Lung Fung, etc but with a dash of chilli vinegar, this wanton soup was quite comforting to taste. The chicken dumplings were soft with generous stuffing of chicken and a thin wanton coat. The only problem was with the additional extended portion of the wanton head i.e. excess steamed white flour dough thay should have been removed before steaming.

2) Chicken Lat Me Kai @Rs.260.00 (4.25/5): The recipe of Lat Me kai varies from restaurant to restaurant. To be very honest, I have no clue about what an actual Lat Me kai tastes like but this Version of Lat Me Kai I had here has to be my favourite! Crispy fried chicken tossed with lots of garlic, chillies and spring onions. There was no sauce and that's what surprised me because the Lat Me Kai versions I have tasted are always glazed with some kind of asia dressing. The outer coat of the chicken had a nice crisp texture encasing well seasoned chicken (breast portion)inside. Absolutely devoured it with all my 6 senses concentrating only on the amazing flavours. Deliciously foodgasmic!😍

3) Smoked Fish @Rs.370.00 (4.5/5): Hands down! One of the best fish appetizers ever!! Over the years, Basa fish being a cheaper option has replaced the usage of Bhetki/Asian Sea bass in restaurants and that really breaks my heart. But surprisingly we were served with superbly fried flaky bhekti macch! What else does a bengali need to satisfy his/her soul? There were 8-9 pieces of beautifully batter fired bhetki alluringly topped with a sweet-sour-spicy sauce with a hint of lemongrass. I was wondering about how this fried fish will deliver the 'smokey' feel until I took a bite and was amazed to find out that it actually was smoked. Boy! Was I impressed. But I would have preferred a bit more smokey flavour there. I would go again and order tonnes of this fish and eat till I pass out. Definitely recommended. Or as we bengalis say it "Kono Kotha hobe na! Just fatafati!".

Even though we wanted appetizers, the quantity was pretty much like that of main course and huge for 2 people. So atleast I had to skip dinner.
We paid a total of Rs.885.00 (Rs.750.00 + 18%Gst). Definitely worth it! I'd go again to try out their main course, without a doubt!😁😍

Surely Recommended.✌

Happy eating.❤❤
Eat.Salivate.Repeat.💗
Stay beautiful. 🙈💓

[P.S. Ambience and service were very good. However, food taste could have been better. Biriyani was a bit bland, but the mutton was very tasty. Overall good experience.

Great and authentic food, homely ambience.
The servings are big. Infact, I would say that it serves one of the best Chinese in South Calcutta. Indian I have not tried much- but the kebabs are yummy. Table service is satisfactory and staff are very courteous and friendly. The price is also reasonable.

Ordered Smoked Chicken(Dry) today afternoon from Swiggy...15% off was a good deal...
Now about the food...
Well it certainly looks like a very tasty chinese dish...
It actually tastes very good when you take the first bite...but very soon your tastebuds get hit by a very sour taste...which totally destroys the taste of the chicken...
Quantity is very good though...but the taste needs to be worked upon a lottt !!!
Great value for money. Nice environment and friendly staff makes you want to go back . Strongly recommend to visit with friends and family. One of my favorite restaurants in Calcutta. Cheers.

Spices and Sauces is one place that satisfies a foody's unending search for good food. Its a multicuisine restaurant with number of choices at a reasonable rate. I personally prefer the mughai and chinese food served here. The staffs are warm and service is also good. But the best point is the location. I strongly recommend the place to anyone who loves to eat and also would go back again if I get a chance.

Whenever I am in Kolkata, a visit to Spices and Sauces is on top of my bucket list. Mazing food, whether it is Chinese or Indian. I specially love the variety of soup you get here, specially the seafood soup which is my favorite.
I would definitely give this place 5 stars and would recommend this to everyone. Also they some time have special buffet which are reasonable and you get to taste different items off their menu. Definitely coming back

My regular joint for office lunch.

A pretty old restaurant with an excellent decor. A warm host who knows every bit of hospitality.

Usually I stick to the typical Fried rice (chicken) and the Hong Kong lamb.

I must tell you that the fried rice is by far one of the best in south kolkata . White fried rice with very little rice. They don't use the typical long rice which makes it even more different than the other restaurants.
The quantity is good for two.

The lamb has its own aroma. It's tender and the taste is just too good. The garnishing is just fine. Simplicity at its best. Quantity is very good

Considering my frequency in that restaurant, I must say that the quality of the food is very good. Never had any health issues post food.

It's a multi cuisine restaurant but I have never tried any dish other than the above. Guess my craving for a wholesome food starts and ends with this when it comes to spices and sauces.

Over all a good Chinese joint.

I give this rating to 'Spice & Sauces' mostly because of their staff and ambience, food is secondary. It is a small but spacious, decent restaurant in the busy area. Nicely decorated interior with attractive furniture. The staff starting from gaurd to waiters are well behaved, nicely dressed and generous. When we entered (8:45pm) restaurant was almost empty, but ambiance was pleasant.
We ordered smoked fish and prawn biriyani. As south Indian settled in north (Lucknow) it is first time I am trying a Kolkata restaurant food. Therefore, I felt the taste is entirely different. Biriyani was just ordinary, not much flavor, not so spicy or with Marsala, plain presentation. Disappointing part is only 4 pieces of prawn and a big potato. Unlike in north or south biriyani was not served with curd or raita. May this is Kolkata style. Smoked fish did not have any smoke flavor at all. It much tasted like Thai preparation because lemon grass was used in plenty. However fish tasted great and it contained 8 pieces. Again presentation was just ordinary. We felt price is little higher for such a quality of food, but we don't have comparison of any other Kolkata restaurant.
In total it was a nice experience and would like to visit again to try other dishes.

This place was near to my hotel in kolkata and I went here twice for my dinner in a 5 day stay.

We were 4 north indians looking for some decent veg food when our care taker suggested this nearby place and we went and were not disappointed.

I have had their dal makhni, yellow dal, pineapple raita and paneer lababdar along with paranthas Rotis and naans .
Good - yellow dal gave us total homely feel and I was mesmerized. It had perfect light salty taste as yellow dal should have. Paneer lababdar was the best paneer dish I had during my entire stay in kolkata. It was full masaledar . Pineapple raita was loved by the ones who have it. Rotis and naans were perfectly cooked and the butter used by them was of top quality. They also gave achar as side which again was loved by those who had it. The service was another big brownie point. All the waiters were on their toes all the time and food arrived well in time . The portions were good too. Also the price paid was value for money.

Normal - the dal makhni was average . The taste was good but it didn't look the traditional dal makhni we eat.

Improvement - the ambiance is pretty average.

Overall a nice place to have authentic veg north indian in the area.

When we went there a small Anniversary reception was going on. But they welcomed us with good courtesy. One waiter was always there for us. Just the ambience was little chaotic due to the other program, otherwise food is okay and reasonable.

Very nicely located. Decor and staff behaviour are good. Food portions are great. Conjee crispy lamb and chicken lat me kai were good. But the mixed ginger corn fried rice and the garlic pepper chicken were flavourless.

Spices & Sauces is a satisfying option to look at when you're starving and have nothing to snack on. We had one of their Pulaos and gravy items and they tasted pretty delicious. Flavor is there. A bit of finesse and their rating would be even better.

i literally stumbled in this place without looking at Zomato before ordering (there was a nice doorman working and I was starving!)

After ordering the veg manchow and veg thai red curry, i looked them up on Zomato and saw a 3.2 rating (albeit only 12 reviews), so I kept my expectactions low. I was shocked with how flavorful and fresh the manchow was, and how authentic the thai red curry was, it was delicious!

Highly recommend for even the thai connessieurs!

I visited the restaurant for my birthday dinner with my family. This restaurant is really very good. They have a wide variety of dashes. We ordered singapuri rice nuddles, smoke fish, golden fried pron, vetki ajwani mahi tikka, special egg wrapped fried rice. The food was delicious in teste. I must say it's easy on pocket and serves you good portion of food. I would love to come again.

This is a special place for foodies - not your run-of-the-mill multi cuisine restaurant. Beautiful ambiance, extremely friendly and professional staff and above all -- unique fusion of flavors makes this an irresistible place for those who want to explore gastronomy beyond the ordinary.
Smoked fish (with fresh lemongrass) is just heavenly. Don't forget the sweet and tangy chili sauce that comes with it. Yummy!
My wife and I also tried the chicken sweet corn soup - simple, thick, well portioned, with the rounded taste of sweet corn.
Highly recommended. You should definitely try the wonderful flavors this restaurant has to offer.

This restaurant is quite understated in comparison to the food they serve.
I found them good and reasonable too.
One plate is perfectly fine for two people..Had ordered the basic Chinese dishes out here and they were really good :)

Don't know why there is no review of this restaurant. Located just beside anjali jewellers in golpark this place is one of the cosiest and quietest restaurant in this area. The ambience is good. The staff is extremely helpful and quite amicable. We had a schewan prawn noodles and chilli basil chicken. The dishes were lovely. Loved their basil chicken. It had a spicy tangy. The quantity was more than enough for 2 people. Schewan prawn noodles were well cooked and moderate spicy. Good in terms of taste and quantity. Personally I would prefer a bit more spicy. However, this problem could be overcome with 1-2pinches of black pepper and few slices of green chillies. They also have an illustrious buffet at just 500bucks inclusive of taxes. Overall, an excellent alternative in the golpark area. Would definitely try their buffet once. If you are heading there do try it out.

Very old eatery located next to Anjali Jewellers, golpark near Dhakuria bridge can be easily spotted. Visited this place with my cousin on a bday occasion. Nothing very special about this place. Food, ambience, service is just average. We ordered for chinese cuisines which was okish.

Very well located in Panchantala near Golpark. A nice and cozy Restaurant with not much crowd..went on a weejday for dinner at around 8Pm and we were the only customers.. nicely decorated.. staff are polite and suggestive.
We had mixed chinese cantonese noodles..a bit bland taste..with too much of gravy..not so good not so bad.average in taste..quantity is almost sufficient for 2 less eating person and more than sufficient for one heavy eating person..the nixed noodles were lacking non veg items..very few chicken and shrimps found.. it was more of a veggie item.
Burnt ginger mixed fried rice..this item was light much with a subtle taste of burnt ginger.good preperation...quantity is more than sufficient for one person.
The showstopper was the smoked chicken.prepared with lemongrass...small pieces of chicken tossed in a pwn fried sweet tangy n spicy sauce..its too good.
Smoked fish is also same item with fish..
Pocket pinch is approx 250-300 per head..for a good meal.overall a nice Restaurant.

A cosy place. Had recently undergone renovation. The staff was helpful and nice but I expected them to be a little more knowledgeable. One of them didnt understand what "boneless" meant. We had crispy konji chicken. Quantity was too good. A little expensive.
Anamitraa/The Gut Filling
A very old place in the area. I have come here much before the recent renovation. Hope that the food has also improved along with the décor. Earlier, I found it to be pretty average.
We had taken Pan Fried Chilli Fish, Drums of Heaven, Veg Chilli Garlic Noodles and Konjee Crispy Lamb. The food is okayish kind of. Okay for trying once. But definitely not worth repeating.

On the evening of Asthami we went for a dinner around 7.30pm. This was our third visit at the Spices & Sauces Restaurant, Golpark. As we were entering we thought the place to be full, but fortunately only 8 to 10 people were dining there. We were relieved that we will enjoy our food with comfort minus the hustle and bustle.
Seems, the interior has got a makeover with coats of fresh paint, balanced lighting and polished pine wood finished wall. This time the seats were more comfortable than last time. They have a total sitting arrangement for 30 to 35 people(may be more), which is quite good. The staffs are very courteous, informative and prompt.
Now coming to the food. We ordered two starters, one Crispy chilly baby corn and second, Drums of heaven in Shendong Style. Both the starters were well prepared, crisp and fresh. In the main course, we had

Prawn Hakka Rice Noodles, Chicken Schezwan Fried Rice, Prawn Chinese Chopsuoey and Sweet & Sour Fish. The quality and taste were satisfactory and the quantity was ample, but was bit disappointed not to find baby corns and mushrooms in the Chopsuoey.
Keep up this quality of service and will surely visit here again. Best wishes for Spices and Sauces Team.
This restaurant, located right beside anjali jewelers golpark, is serving good asian food in puja time! Been there, last night for dinner, it has renovated and upgraded their restaurant. Good to see that.
We had ordered for chicken drumsticks for starter followed by mixed pan fried noodles, mixed chili garlic rice and devils chicken. But in place of drumsticks tossed in sauce we got normal fried ones, pan fried noodles were also changed into Cantonese noodles (in our bill). The quantity is very good. The number of prawns were less though in noodles. Our server said that one bowl of rice will be enough for one person, and three of us were finding one rice and one noodles difficult to finish off!
The service is very pathetic, misleading, not at all trained servers, the person serving us did not seem to be in his senses, as he suggested all the items we were not asking for.
I loved the presention, food and decor of the place but definitely not going back to be attended by such (read dumb) people.

Great Ambience,Loved the new looks of the restaurant. The food is really awesome specially the Smoked Fish and Noodle. The taste was excellent & the service and staff are cooperative and well dressed. Overall it is the one of the best restaurant in the city and remains so with the new look and decor.

It's one of the oldest restaurant in the area... came back in a new look after 1.5 months renovation... and it is quite good... staffs are friendly but the service was bit lagging... we tried their smoked fish... it was well presented but tasted very ordinary... pricing was unnecessarily high one starter and one glass of cold drinks costed around INR450... not worth it...

Forget about interior, the food quality is really good. One of my fav food corner. Try out the Smoked Fish guys.. its really tasty and mouth watering. Other dishes are also tasty and reasonable in price.

Prices are too high. It doesn't even justify their quantity which is moderate. Biriyani tastes very poor. Potatoes only look yellow from the outside but you will not find any traces of salt of spice inside it ( means it is tasteless as hell).
Decor is good but then again, what will I do with decor if food is so bad. Decor won't fill my tummy.

Spices and Sauces lies in close proximity of my place and at one time I crossed the restaurant 6 days a week, without managing to drop in ever. No reason why.
A few weeks ago, I and a couple of my friends stepped into S&S to escape the pouring rain outside and to comfort our rumbling bellies.

One thing that surely works for the place is its interiors. We ordered golden fried prawns and pan fried chilli fish for the first course and moved onto ordering prawn Cantonese noodles and Devil's chicken for the main course.

The food is nice and palatable. While I catered myself with a few spoonfuls, it definitely did not make me feel that I have missed out on some good food all this while. The food tastes decent but there is nothing that sets it's flavors apart from the food served at any other very average place in the city.

Located just adjacent to anjali jewellers in golpark.i will rate it 3 for its food quality.the decor inside is very ordinary.the quality of food doesn't match the prices. The items often lacks proper taste and the main course be it d fried rice or noodles it's dry n ordinary. The side dishes are of the same.I suggest to please look after the quality of food being served as well as the time of delivery.I wish it will b better on my next visit. Not at all up to the mark as for golpark area..there are high competetors

My first lunch while visiting Kolkata. Got in as we couldn't fine any other eating place nearby. My vegetarian wonton soup was good flavour wise. The Thai curry with vegetable friend rice was well flavored too. My husbands lemon chicken with rice was not a good choice. Overall a good food experience.

It was a spur of the moment decision to visit this place. This is a local restaurant and it's been there for quite sometime now yet I've hardly been there.
The restaurant was empty & found the interior a little shabby. But was pleasantly surprised with the food. Ordered a few starters,Butterfly Prawn which comes with prawn wafers, Smoked Fish with Lemon Grass & Crispy Chicken with Honey Sauce. Though I would have preferred the chicken to be a little less sweet but it was nice & crispy.
The Cola Float was disappointing as there was very little ice cream.
It's a good place to hangout with friends. The staff are courteous.

A decent place to eat Chinese, nothing fancy though. The food was pretty good for it's price, so the bottom line is, a pocket friendly Chinese food restaurant for locals, if you are here in these locality, no harm in trying it on, won't disappoint you, rather may surprise you in a good way.

Located just next to Golpark this restaurant is quite accessible. I was bit disappointed on the ambience part but the overall food quality was quite good. The quantity is also really good. I would suggest the smoked chicken to everyone. It was really good. Overall I would say satisfactory.

Its my first visit at Spices & Sauces, suddenly we discover the restaurant. Good ambience. We ordered Chicken Szechwan Fried Rice, Chicken Thai Fried Rice, Tai Chin Chicken, Devils Chicken. The quality and quantity of all the dishes is praiseworthy. The service was prompt. Good service.

I got parcel from this place for a small lunch. Usually I don't write reviews on restaurants that I haven't got dining experiences. But this time the food quality forced me to do so.

I got Fish Fry, Murg Masala Kebabs & some other dishes in my pack. First of all no foods were satisfying at all. None of them felt fresh or tasted good. Fish fry was kind of very dry & taste was below average. Kebabs were absolutely tasteless without any rich spices used. Foods were somehow cheaply cooked but very well packed.

The food quality was not the only thing that I didn't felt good about. The worst thing was price. The prices per dish is very expensive specially for the quality they offer. Neither the foods quality justify the price nor the quantity does. After this bad food experience I don't thing I will choose their dining experience anymore.

Hugely underrated restaurant...so much so that it compelled me to write a review even though I visit zomato primarily to go through reviews and not to write myself. Located next to Anjali Jewellers Golpark, this place should definitely be more crowded than it usually is. Probably the lack of proper branding/marketing is the reason. Serves selected items in chinese, continental, indian etc but to be honest, only selected dishes in chinese are what they specialise in. A lot of dishes here are just okayish, as is the ambience. Indian dishes are below par. But dishes like "Chilli Chicken Thai Style"( or the "Spices & Sauces Special Fried Rice" (chicken, lamb, babycorn, mushrooms, bell peppers all present in the rice in perfect proportions, served with egg wrap and prawn chips) keep bringing me to this place. The "Chilli Chicken Thai Style" they serve is a treasure that we have finally discovered after hunting for the perfect chinese side dish across restaurants of all grade for more than a decade. It is, indeed, that good. If someone visits this place without knowing what to order, there's a good chance that he/she will be disappointed with the experience. But selected dishes, as mentioned earlier can give the best in the business a run for their money...

Not so important things- Staff-very friendly and cultured, card acceptance- yes washroom-yes ambience- slightly gloomy parking-no value for money- hell yes

Pleasant experience here, ordered some dry starters and rice with two chicken dishes .Tast wise - decent... Waiters are polite ..ambiance - chole jay.. And pricing is a bit high and above that they apply a service tax of 5.6% on top of standard 14.5%. A bit expensive but good quality food.

This restaurant should be shut down immediately. The entire main course had to be taken back. It is the shittiest food I've eaten in 19 years of my life. Guys if if u have money to spare then I suggest u throw it out of the window rather than even think of eating here

Not that bad as reviewed by others.I went there with my parents during pujo because Santa's Fantasea had a cue where i would have to wait for more than an hour and there wasnt any cue here at all.Not going by the regular stereotype of "No pain no gain" we checked in here instead and boy that was a good decision.I had pan fried noodles with shredded lamb while my parents went with the traditional indian Tandoori roti and Kadhai paneer.I would say the food was above average. But the ambience was not that great.Playing songs back from the 80's dint go with the ambience at all..There was a slight mix up with our menu but i am more than ready to forgive it since i thoroughly understand the rush which all restaurants are facing this pujo..Plus the staff is quite polite as well.
You can definitely try it.Worth a shot!

This restaurant is duck soup to fathom out in Golpark. This is lying next to the Anjali Jewellers in Golpark on the same lane.
I went to this place some time back as I was truly hungry and had to have a nice substantial amount of lunch! I just happened to alight on this restaurant as I was sauntering past this place.
The inside is quite large and neat. They have an arrangement of rot-iron furniture that renders the atmosphere an essence of easygoingness, tidiness and youthfulness. I instantaneously felt refreshed as I walked in.
Now the food! I loved whatever I ordered. They have variations in dishes to begin with. I had ordered some starters, noodles and some pan-fried items which they assisted me to match. So far as I can recall there was the drums of heaven, paneer starters and then obviously noodles. The thing that I loved was that they allow changes in the dishes following different taste buds. So I asked to make things more tangy. Oh yes, I wasn't alone, so please don't even conjecture that I alone could gulp down all that quantities!
This place is not very demanding on your budget yet I must add a qualification regarding certain items from the main menu that are a bit expensive. Though the taste will compensate for the over-expenditure, if you would like to deem those prices amounting to over-expenditure.
On a general note I should like to say that this place is for families and friends. This is a nice and easy place where you will have plenty of options to choose and order from and spend the time with your close ones joyously.

Been there a couple of times. Located at Golpark just beside Anjali Jewellers. Ambiance is so so. Friendly staff. Menus to try are chicken lat mai kai, mixed rice or noodles and mandarin fish. The portions they serve are of huge quantity. Reasonable cost. Overall a decent place for family dinner.

Nice place with comfortable ambiance. Serves good quantity having an average standard in all.
prices are high and you can indulge in some standard chinese preparations in here.
Esther Violet Gonsalves
The worst place to eat. Food is grossly overpriced. The menu consist of Indian, Chinese and continental- but the chefs don't know how to prepare most of the dishes.
I had ordered the lemon grass fried chicken rice but what i got was the typical fried rice with a few springs of spring onion.
The Jeera Aloo had postu but no jeera in it and it was burnt.
Service is rude and also very slow. Eating here is a waste of money!!!

Its my first visit, today, we went for santas fantasea. It was a bit difficult to spot out. When we finally did, it was fully occupied and they wanted us to wait for 20 minutes. Thinking it worthless, we turned our back and decided to have dinner at spices and sauces.

One can easily spot it out. Service was good. They were willing to hear the review, whether we liked the food or not.

"When it comes to the food, options can be obstacles"

No I mean there were options. A lot. But we wished to have crab. Disappointed to hear "crab is not available"
They said they don't serve pork. So our fried rice didn't contain pork. That's the bad part.

Good thing is we enjoyed the dinner, as it was not occupied by so many people, it was less crowded even it was Sunday evening. Ordinarily decorated, not too dark (ignore my phone's picture quality). Service was found to be quick. As quick as they could.

There are more reasons to give 4.0 to an ordinary Chinese restaurant. Must try their smoked fish. I was in love with that dish. And loved shredded lamb with chili soya sauce. Lamb was not like any other highest rated Chinese restaurant. Sezchwan mixed meat fried rice was good. Fish preparations are recommended.

They said they don't serve deserts. Otherwise I'll give it a 5.

P.s- they should turn off the zee bangla when no one is watching. -_-

Ok this restaurant is a place where you would love to give a small treat to your friends! The ambience here is cold and mild...the food quality is perfect here in relation to the price that they have put up on the menu card!

Its a must visit place for me whenever I go to Gariahat or Golpark.. The place situated at Panchanantolla Bus stop.. The ambiance is soothing not very much flamboyant though... Its rather very peaceful.. The food quality as well as quantity is really good... And its totally reasonable as per pricing is concerned.. No matter u're just college goers or office goers u can very well afford it.. Everytime I visit there I always opt for specially two dishes...1. Golden Fried Prawn, 2. Pan Fried Fish.. I love these two the most along with Soups.. As per maincourse is concerned the quantity is pretty good and taste is ok.. And Not bad at all.. I end up with Darshaan with extra scoop for dessert..
Thou they serve Indian dishes too But I personally feel that their Chinese dishes are really good comparable to any standard Chinese Restaurants.. I give it a 4 star only bcoz of its tasty food and so so ambiance...

It's best for biriyani,I should say. The biriyani here is awesome. It also serves a delicious starter, especially pomfret fry and baby corn :)

This place is what i call a very "low profile place". I don't know the exact reason but what i know is that they serve nearly perfect chinese dishes. Though they may have Indian and Thai on the menu but chinese is the place they excel.

They have variety of dishes and some dishes have been detailed as well for better understanding (I didn't expect such detailing as it can be seen in upmarket places only). I have tried various dishes but Cronjee Crispy Chicken requires special mention. For vegetarians, the menu is well-equipped and full of delicious choices.

Overall you can definitely spare your time here to tickle your taste buds!

Happy eating :)

It's a decent place with really good n tasty food.. I ordered a lot of stuff.. The best out of which was smoke fish with particular taste of ginger, garlic, lemon grass on every bite. The chicken tandoori was soft baked. Overall it was ?
