The Basanti Pulao is yummy yet less in oil. Mildly sweet with cashews and raisins.
The Mutton Dak Bungalow is also good. Mildly spicy [i prefer spicy food], 2 generous pieces of mutton with an egg.
The Basanti Pulao was packed in foil box, whereas the Mutton Dak Bungalow was in plastic container.

Finally found a quality Bengali food restaurant. Ambience is nice and cozy, food served in traditional Bengali "Kansha thala bati glass", waiters dressed in clean and gorgeous uniform, walls decorated with Paintings of Kings and queens, adds a royal touch to the ambience.
Food: Yummy and homestyle. Tasted Rajbarir Kosha Chicken, very soft chicken with rich but not too oily and tasty gravy, Sona moog dal with perfect consistency, Dhoka dalna with soft and fluffy dhokas.

This was my first time visiting raajbarir khawa and I have to say that it did live up to the expectations. I've heard nothing but good things about this place and rightly so, all the dishes were exquisite.
We ordered basanti pulao and rajbarir special pulao, and we also ordered fish kalia, golda chingri malaikari, dhakai mangsho with bata masla. We also ordered beguni on the side.
The basanti pulao was absolutely delicious. The rice grains were perfectly cooked and there was a hint of sweetness like it should've been.
The Rajbarir special pulao was a bit different from anything I've tried before and trust me it wasn't a let down. It was a bit spicy but it came loaded with 4 meatballs with mutton filling.
Now the side dishes.
The Dhakai mutton with bata masla is a must try.
The meat was very succulent and filled with an array of spices. It's definitely one of the best items on the menu.
The fish kalia was also very good. The fish was definitely fresh and cooked to perfection.
And all in all, the place is very spacious and cosy. The staff is very friendly as well. This place is a must try.

One of the best places to have affordable Bengali food around Santonshpur or Ajoynagar.
The service is great and interior is quite simple and subtle. Kosha Mangsho is something one cannot miss.
Channar Dalna, Postor Vada within 80 bucks tasted great. Bhetki Paturi was good the pungency of mustard was not too overpowering which I liked.
Prawn Malai Curry was great too.
They can have more options in desserts I felt, but quality and quantity of the dishes is really good keeping in mind the price.
The dishes have a homely flavor which I liked.
I just love the food💓💓💓❤❤..you people serve the best bengali food and the fish preparation is awsome...keep it up..hope to be in your restraunt soon

Starting from the topse fry, it had a thick crunchy layer over the fish and the fish was soft and fresh. From the mains the basanti pulao is my favourite. I also loved the hot luchis. Cholar dal and chanar dalna went very well with the Luchi. The pulao tasted heavenly with the kosha mangsho. The chingri malai curry had a huge piece of Chingri cooked in a heavenly gravy. I loved the bhetki paturi. It was soft and it had the perfect aroma of mustard seed.
Desserts are the best part of a meal and Bengali cusine has a lot of options when it comes to dessert. The desserts we were served are Chatni and rosogolla. Both of them are my favourites and I loved having them.

The Bhetki Paturi and Kosha Mangsho were very well cooked, had the perfect blend of spices, and the Pulao was one the best sweet Pulao I have ever had.
The Chibgri Malai curry was good, but could have a bit better, Rest assured the thali is worth it.

The Rajbari special platter was awesome. One plate has so much food that 2 people can share it easily. If you want to try authentic traditional Bengali cuisine this place is a must try. It will take some time to get your food after ordering but the food is worth waiting for. People are nice and the ambience is just beautiful. The utensils used will also give you a homely feeling.

We went there on Jamaisasthi program. Most of the dishes was very good and delicious. Services was good. Decoration was soso. Just beside of road. Must try chingri potol Dorma, vetki paturi.
The food was great and was served hot. Since we were a party comprising about 30 members, they took some time, but delivered efficiently. The food tasted great. The service was alright. The atmosphere was not so great. The air conditioner was not effective enough, the seating arrangement can be improved. They serve Bengali Cuisine but they didn't provide hand bowls to clean our hands after meal. Instead we had to walk over to a wash basin, which is fine for youngsters but a hassle for the elderly.
It's located near santoshpur. They offer pur bengali buffet menu 599 for non veg items. They have also veg items also. They serve in Kasha plate. Guests can order seperate items also from the menu card. The taste was awesome.
I ordered takeaway food from here and for the price charged, there is simply no match. I ordered the Rajbarir thali (2) for my father's birthday and three adults ate the food over three meals. There were 12-13 items including fish, mutton and prawns and portions were very large. The price was only around Rs 550 per plate. Food quality is good. Price is also reasonable. Staff behaviour is also good. Overall good family restaurant in reasonable price for Bengali food lovers.
We ordered basanti polao, rajbarir chicken, chitol maacher muitha and vetki paturi. Basanti polao was a hit with no additional spices added to it. It tasted purely authentic. Chitol maacher muitha and chicken was also good. Vetki paturi had a typical smell (don't know why) which i didn't like. Apart from that, the service and homely atmosphere was great.
Delicious food. We are regular visitor here. Order thalis, Especially the Maharaja thali provides so much you cannot eat, and generally we take two thalis for 3 people.
If you wanna try historical proper traditional Bengali food in South Kolkata this is the place. Absolutely royal treat from best of Bengal
Nice restaurant tbh for any small to medium family gathering and serves delicious dishes...the workers are pretty friendly in nature and well mannered...the place is pretty cozy even if its cold outside and the location is pretty good too,near to the main road...parking is available at a very small distance if you wish to go by car...overall its a nice place to hang out with "your people"...

Nice place with pure bengali food at cheap rate. The ambience will not give you a feeling of rajbari but the food will.The food quality is good and the quantity is enough to fill one's tummy. I would like to visit again.
