Review Hola Cafe - Kolkata (Calcutta)

Arkaprovo Chakrabarty
Though I am a fan of another Pizza Brand that starts with the letter D, however, I must say Pizza Hut is no different. The place at Rosedale Plaza is truly amazing for a Get-together with friends and family. It has transparent glass walled on one side makes it looks airy, spacious. Though it has limited sitting arrangements but usually the place is not so crowded. You may find a cozy place to hop on. Taste of Pizzas are awesome. They bake fresh pizzas and very neatly well kept place to enjoy your bite. Mostly I go with Tandoor Chicken, Malai Chicken Tikka, Triple Chicken Feast. For kids non spicy, I would suggest Chicken Sausage, Chicken and Corn Delight, Momo Pizza. Do try the Cheese Garlic bread, Tear and Share. The location of the pizza joint is strategically placed inside the plaza where parking space is available in plenty around the service road. Thought mall owned parking space is limited. I would give a 5 star for its location, another 5 for the taste and options, price wise the pizzas are at par with other competitors. Online orders may have better deals and discounts but visiting this physical joint has its own enjoyment. All the best for your favourite Pizzas. Enjoy.

Amazing food, amazing service and amazing ambience. Pizza served pipping hot in a hot pan. The taste was awesome. Plates and tissue papers were also given and that's what is really great. The lady was very polite and courteous. 5 star experience. 👍

The service could have been better organised for our pre booked get together. The combo offers placement could have been better. It was not enough customer friendly.
Abhishek Sugandhi
Pizza Hut.. No introduction needed.. Correct?? About my dining experience, it was quite good.. place is neat and clean..behavior of staff, especially store manager is very good.. we had one issue, but she resolved it in a very supportive way.. happy with the service provided.. parking will not be an issue.. mostly they are having offers also so will be somewhat similar to having dinner at any normal restaurants.. just go and enjoy with family or friends..

It's a good restaurant for vegetarian people .Its tiny place but well decorated. I really liked the food .The restaurant staffs are well mannered. If you are a pure vegetarian then you can definitely give it a shot.

Overall a decent place to have some vegetarian food. It is located opposits UEM, Rajarhat. The dosa served here is good.
BANIDIP SARKAR
Very delicate hospitality of staffs specially Priyanka ❤️ .. maintain whole the party on her own.. ambience is superb

Lovely veg restaurant in rajarhat next to downtown.

I ordered (before lockdown) their Kasmiri Pulao and Paneer Tikka Lababdar for lunch for myself. I ordered everything veg since this is a restaurant which only serves vegetarian food. First of all it was delivered on time with generous packaging. The Pulao was really really yummmm!! There was huge chunks of paneer in it as well as a lot of dry fruits. The Kasmiri Pulao tasted amazing. For the Paneer Tikka Lababdar I was expecting it to be very spicy. But it had nice mild flavour with a rich gravy. I feel it would go good with Roti or Naan. There was only one thing that the Lababdar gravy was not seasoned well. Otherwise both the dishes were a hit. I would also like to speak about the portion size. It was worth value for money. The amount was so much that even I needed to put 30% of food in the fridge and had it for dinner again. If someone is looking for good vegetarian food , I think this is the joint one could look up to.

Just opposite to my college, this pure veg restaurant is a place I go, just for their dosa.
Masala dosa- Crunchy, good size and tasty rasam and dips are a good deal for a dosa lover.
Mushroom and corn sandwich- I had this just once, and it was not upto the mark. It had a weird smell to it like the mushrooms were really stale.
Ice cream coffee- considerable. However, expected much better quality of coffee.
Can go for dosas. But otherwise, not worth it.
This place is so good for dates , breakfast or lunch . Peaceful area , reasonable price .

Ordered Masala dosa and idli. Both were good but delivery time was painful particularly when one is hungry. Please order in advance. Taste wise it's great.

Really a good ambience
Chef Rushali Kundu
The service could be better but the food quantity is good. The tawa pulao and paneer dishes, dosa, chinese bhel is good too... they should improve on their service making it fast.
Nisha Bachhawat
I absolutely love the lemon Coriander soup here. It's one of the finest out here. The restaurant is reasonably priced with lots of variety in terms of vegetarian food.

This place is just beside the rosedale plaza. It is cozy and small and equally aesthetic.
The glass walls are very intriguing.
I had
Crispy chilli baby corn
Galaxy potatoes
Veg Manchurian gravy
Schezuwan fried rice - two servings
And one cold coffee with ice cream.
All the food was well cooked and tasty and filling.
Recommended for any veggie lover.
Pocket pinch was 1350₹ but we had to take much stuff away, so it was approximately 900₹ for two.
Ria Roy Choudhury
This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants that I've ever visited. The food tastes delicious, the ambience is perfect, cleanliness is praiseworthy and staff behaviour is pleasing.
Maz Ana
My friend stays nearby and whenever I visit him, it's food from Hola!.

The dal maharani and paneer tikka lababdar is to die for. I m a fan of their butter roti and Mirchi ki roti. I even like the pickle which they give on home deliveries. 😎😎
Swedarth Banerjee
Taste is not as good as...the price..... neither they opt for Zomato 40% off schemes....if u order thinking price is high so as taste will be....but no.... it's not as tht
Sohini Samanta (posto.food)
Cute and nice cafe.. ambience is nice.. this is a very cool place to hang out.. 100 % veg cafe.. foods are good but not up to the level.. liked paneer pakora most than other food
Simran Kukreja
Good and friendly environment food was really good i had virgin mojito which was quite good. But anyhow they show provide fast service. The behaviour of the staffs were quite courteous. Would visit this place again and i hope that the service should improve

This outlet is near UEM college new town. They serve amazing vegetarian dishes. A serene and sound environment for a lovely lunch of dinner with your family.
It is a eye candy for vegetarians. Would love to have their food soon.

We went there for evening snacks. We had pav bhaji, Masala dosa and fresh lime soda. Portions were good. The staffs are cordial. Service very promt. The ambience was good.

I was on a tour in kolkata there one of my friend suggested to try dosa in hola. I went there and ordered and the mean while i ordered virgin mojito. The drink was good but i loved the dosa and specially the chutney they gave. The staff was very kind in nature and very polite.
DIPANWITA BISWAS
We had masala dosa and butter masala dosa. The portion size was huge and tasted amazing. The staff were very courteous. Its very pocket friendly too.
Mehal Dokania
It's a very casual restaurant. The staff is nice. We tried the tomato soup...it tasted like soup from the packet. We tried the rotis and the vegetables. The vegetables were filled with masala and tasted similar to each other. The rotis were also not well made.
Wouldn't recommend it.
Chandan Thakur
All vegetarian restaurant with great Indian comfort food , also does home delivery of food through zomato, their Indian breads is a must try for dinner.
Shubhangi Garg
We had Dahi kebab, American Chopsy, Manchurian, Dosa. The items were very tasty. Had enough quantity. Can come to this place if want some good food and also worthy of price.
Moumita Mallick
First of all one must understand that its a VEG RESTAURANT.

I found the place quiet cool with great variety of vegetarian dishes. it is located right opposite Karigari Bhawan in new town inside rosedale plaza. we paid a visit on a weekday afternoon so it was not much crowded. it is a small place and good for snacks only.

We tried their special DOSA PIZZA and CHINESE BHEL. the pizza tasted yum and it was a unique dish and a must try for people visiting this hidden gem in new town. the chinese bhel came in impressive quantity. we were happy with the price, food quantity as well as food quality.

Since all the colleges are nearby so its a great place for college goers to hangout and spend time with friends without much of a pocket pinch.
Supriya
Nice joint for indochinese food. Ordered hakka noodles, chinese fried rice, chilly garlic mushroom, paneer manchurian and spring rolls. The noodles and rice are great, starters were flavorful. Paneer manchurian was not up to the mark; the gravy was too thick, capsicum and paneer pieces were poorly cut and cooked. Other dishes were ok. Pocket friendly, and promt service.
Anubhav Agarwal
Very nice food. Quantity is really good and sufficient for 3 people. Chinese bhel is really good and economical also. Want to visit this place again and again as it is in my locality only. The only thing they can improve is service. They take hell lot of time to serve your food.

Ambiance - 4/5
Food - 4/5
Service - 2.5/5
Sanchari Pait
Grossly overpriced.
A sandwich with with extra cheese cost 220, whereas any other place in Kolkata offers the same at 100-140. They need to revamp their quality and prices to attract more crowd.
Rohan Shah
went at hola few days ago.... food not good... had some hairs in the food...disgusting... after we complained the manager did not listen... avoid it... its better not to waste the money
Ankita Singh
This place is definitely a good choice for Chinese lover, but if you are going with a thought of having north Indian at this place, pls take a step back, they have no knowledge of what the north India food even look like.
Bhumika Bohra
The Only Vegetarian Restaurant in the New Town area at Rosedale Plaza which serves south indian, north indian and few fast food dishes. Good place to hangout, reasonable price and Above average taste.
Abhishek Sur
Got very much disappointed we ordered our food and for that we need to wait for hours......btw indeed the food was good btw srsly the no one will wait for food for an hour

Disclaimer- Veg restaurant

Veg restaurant which serves basic punjabi and desi food. I have been here a lot of times cause it is close to my apartment . I remember the recent visit and the food i had ordered.
1.Crispy chilly babycorn
2.Veg jhalfrezi
3.-Naan
4.paneer butter masala
5. Gulab jaamun

Food is good, nothing extravagant. Since it is aVeg restaurant i get bored of the menu. But people residing in Newtown should check this place once
Rohan Singh
Staff don’t know what’s in the menu, i ordered panner tawa masala, i asked if panner will be fry or not, in reply he said yes it will deep fry, but guess what i got no fry panner, they should trained their staff, And one more point Price is too high with 1 plate of panner 250 are u serious, Anyways taste is average not extraordinary, wastage of money totally
Kirtya Nand
Hola is an average restaurant serving average veg food. The food is plain ok and it really needs to watch out for a few things.

1. Cost is high - for portion size served. I have been to fine dining restaurants in Kolkata in park street area, but the cost per dish is quite high. Imagine ordering a paneer dish upwards of 250 per plate, even a tawa roti costing 25 rupees. Really!! In Kolkata!! That too so far away from the city. If it were a fine dine arrangement, I would still pay for ambience. I don't thing small tables and iron chairs with yellow lights deserve this cost. Staff is quite ill trained.

2. I picked up something weird in the menu today. The menu reads cold drink served as 600 ml. Now as a customer I can assume, it to be a small 600 ml bottle, when asked they said they will serve in glasses only. I could see all these 600 ml bottles stacked in the fridge right in front of my eyes. I believe every restaurant has to serve what they put in the menu, else they can change the menu.

3. I have already merited the taste and quality. It's good but not great to be asking the cost it asks. I think they just target the captive customer base of Rosedale and Uniworld city- two societies in close vicinity.

I am eating here because I don't really have an option. It's a potentially good place, but they have to relook at the customer ROI as well.

One can go through the menu again to validate all the points.

Addition- they have further increased the prices, example dal maharani which is apparently daal makhni is 260 per plate. It's a restaurant which is at best ok in taste, ok in seating and decor. It's too noisy, staff is untrained, they have metal chairs which is quite cheap. Restaurant floor hygiene is questionable. And staff does not give a damn about it

Example- we took a table, which had dirty plates from the previous customer. When we entered the restaurant, the table was empty, yet it was not cleaned. We sat on the table, staff came and requested us to move to a smaller table which wouldn't need cleaning. After waiting for 10 mins we got our menu, another ten mins order was taken. Still that table has not been cleaned.

Please avoid. We just eat because there aren't other options around Rosedale and Uniworld city.
Manisha Singh
This place serves stale food. We were served sticky sour taste potato in veg Biryani. And the person who served was quite casual about our complaint and said I can bring you another fresh plate of Biryani. We immediately left the place and never intend to go back or suggest anybody to visit the place.
Abhranil Sengupta
Ordered few weeks ago. Amazing taste... both the main food and sides. Packaging was fine. Look forward for continuous yum in future too. Thumps up to bring South so elegantly in Kolkata.
Nimesh Agarwal
The location of this Cafe is really nice. It is close to Unitech. There are many other stores nearby such as Subway , CCD, Domino's, Archie's, Momore ,Noodle story and most importantly , there is peace in that area.

Coming to ambience, it is moderately good.
They play really awesome music though.

Now food is good. Quantity is good. A bit pricy.
American Chopsuey and Manchow soup is must have.
Pizza dosa is hyped. The crust was soggy.

All in all good place to hang out during lunch hours.
Ruchi Jain
This place has billed service charge twice in a row. The first time we didnt have the picture of the bill. that was two months ago! Now this! However, both the time they changed the bills but they persist in fooling those who do not notice!
The seats are uncomfortable and food is not fresh at all.
So why did we go to this place? This is close to us and easy to reach that's the only reason!
Abir Seal
Visited there twice, the first time there was a birthday party going on in one section and the music was so loud that we rush out after a quick bite at dosa. The next time around we went there at around 7:15 in the evening but they said they will only serve dinner now.7 in the evening I think is a bit too early for dinner so had to leave.Would like to request the Management to review there decision on the dinner time.
Arushi
A good restaurant.. ambience is friendly, though it takes a lot of time for service.. the dosa is v soft and not crispy so wouldnt recommend south indian food there but indian food like panner butter masala is good!!
VijayMsam
This is the only place that serve south Indian food in an around unitech and Rosedale complex went there after reading reviews ordered for idli
,dosa and cheese butter dosa , idli was not upto the mark dosa was nicely made ambience and service was good

Overall a good place

Located at Newtown , in Rosedale Plaza . This is a full veg restaurant . The ambeince was good and the waiters are also prompt in service. Coming to food we ordered jeera rice .masala kulcha. Dal maharani. Panner buttermasala. The food was good and the quantity was also pretty good. The price is at a higher side.

Located in Rosedale Plaza, opposite St. Xavier's University in New Town, Hola is a savior for the residents of Action Area 3 of the sprawling township.

As soon as you enter the cozy restaurant, you're greeted by the cheerful staff members who escort you to your table. The menu consists of a mix of dishes including South Indian, North Indian and Chinese.

On my multiple visits to this food joint, I have tried almost everything from their menu, varying from Chola Bhatura to Kathi Rolls and Indian main course (both South Indian and North Indian) to Chinese main course. All the dishes they serve are great in taste and almost always flawlessly presented. Initially they used to take a lot of time in preparing the food but off late, they have improved their service time exceptionally. The pricing is slightly on the higher side but is justified by the quality of the food they serve. All the staff members are courteous and friendly.

A little downside, however, is the fact that most of the dishes from their menu are time specific, so do check beforehand whether what you're craving for is available at that particular time or not.
Also, the seating arrangements here, both chairs and tables, are quite uncomfortable.

P.S. Do try the Pizza Dosa here, it's super delicious!
Souvik Bhattacharya
A small cosy cafe at highway side of New Town serves pure veg food and snacks. Their specialty is Pizza Dosa and Masala Tea. Many suggested that Garlic Bread is good here but surprisingly they don't have that in the menu.

Pizza Dosa has little tick base that standard dosa but crispy. Topped with veggies and cheese made this utterly delicious. Then wash it down with their Masala Tea which will charge you up. One can opt for this combination during breakfast to cheer them up for the whole day or during evening to refresh you up.

Do check their bill prior payment where they add optional service charge. Seating is not at all comfortable. Service was prompt and servers were courteous.

This place has good food with simple n fancy ambiance..
Food was delicious and good people around but need to be careful while cooking food, located near rajarhat and very easy to find and chill out with friends. Worth visiting
Sai
We had Idly sambar n chutney...taste n texture was horrible ...we have never ever have eaten such horrible idly n sambar...they say we r speciality in south indian dishes but the chef dont know how to prepare idly n sambar, i vomited after eating that...sambar was full of some bad oil n idly was made up of totally maida... first time in my life i ate maida idly. I am totally dis satisfied.

This restaurant is located inside Rosedale complex, next to Reliance Mart. Last sunday me & friends decided to visit this place for breakfast..we reached at 8:15am and the place was empty...1st we ordered masala tea & tea was on our table in 5mins & it was really tasty...then we ordered upma & poha & it took them more than 45 mins to prepare...I don't know why...and to top it up....both the items were pretty below average in terms of taste...I would definitely not recommend any1 to try their upma or poha....price is definitely on the higher side...they charge 50rs. for masala tea & 120rs. each for upma & poha......so, I feel this is not a ideal place for breakfast, However I will not be able to comment on their main course as I have not tried any item yet...
Joyita
Will never order from this place again!!!

They were worth the price when they opened. Now its a ac dhaba which is pricey. Beware of food quality. I got sick last 2 times when I had food from this place.
They give onions, lime & chilli with every order. They forget that sometimes too. Their present prices are so not worth the dhaba style food quality.
Pawan Agarwal
It's dosa is awesome. We ordered 4 different dosas and all are delicious. Service and ambience is good. I would like to visit again , for dosa ofcourse.

Nice place. The large open glass feels one welcome inside and outside.food quality is good and pleases you well.food quantity is reasonable.
Would recommend this place for friends looking for catch up.anyone wanting to grab a quick bite.

We did not know that such a hidden gem was there at rosedale plaza in Newton. It's veg and serves good food. We tried aloo ka paratha which tasted pretty good, the idlis were soft and moist. The masala tea and the filter coffee they served in large cup was enough fa decent price of 30. Overall this is a good place and I am looking forward to visit it again.
Sandeep Gupta
Very poor Service. Nobody to supervise service boys. Food Quality deteriorated. Rates at part with reputed restaurant. No wash room or wash Basin.Did not returned the Hakka Noodles in spite of testing and accepting poor quality by them . Charging GST @18% in spite of Govt reducing it from 18 to 12%. Poor service once you are served the order. We need to remind them for water or clearing the plates. Overall very poor experience.
Nitin Jain
Good food....nice decor...one can really enjoy with friends....presentations r also very good... the concept of dosa pizza is great....also like the garlic bread..
Kumar.prateek15
Decent quick bite. Good quality. Fair pricing. Brilliant for a Sunday afternoon where you don’t want to eat home cooked food. (Vegetation that is) Can improve on the order placement and payment parts.
Chandran Nallathambi
Worst service. Food is average but charged at exorbitant prices. Still people had to go because there ain't any average restaurant in this area but if the service is like this guess no one would want to go.
Gaurav
This area needed an restaurant lik dis...Top notch when comes to food taste n quantity..Their coffee is just awesome..Their service though need a little upgradation...All together a gud experience
TheVikash Sarraf
Ok food
Everything on the menu is not available
Service is ok
Staff's approach is decent
They take a bit too much time
More or less good for newbie
Nikunj Saria
Location is a bit far away but with the ongoing development , that wont be an issue. A nice small Veg restaurant. Ambience is good out there. Staffs are also very cooperative. The important thing is that food is really good. Paneer Tikka is good. So is veg manchurian. Although they could add more varities in their menu. One can definitely try here. Its reasonable as well.
Megha Gadia
A nice decent eatery in Rosedale Complex(near Unitech) which makes it very convenient for people staying around Newtown and Shapoorji. The view of CCD and the beautiful complex adds a point to the place.

We ordered Pizza Dosa and its an excellent fusion of Italian and south Indian food (a must try) and Bar BQ Paneer along with chaas(chaas again can be given a try)

Overall nice place to go out with friends and family for a quick meal. Sorry for trolling, I've never been here but....... Why the name 'Hola!'??? Is there a Spanish touch to the Indian and Chinese dishes?? Or the Spanish chef ran away?? Anyway, I'm giving you 4/5 for no reason. All the best....
Saumya.mukherjee82
The food quality is not upto the mark. Very bad service. They do not believe in customer centricity. The waiting time for serving food is around 40 minutes. They just opened the shop but completely focusing on making more profit rather than taking care of customer comfort as well as satisfaction. They do not have the sincere desire of correct themselves. I suggest my neighbours of Rosedale, Uniworldcity, Sukha Bristi, Elita Garden Vista not to explore this outlet for dinning. It’s sheer wastage of time, money and energy.
Margherita
Had a pretty decent dosa and onion uttapam here recently. The chutneys aren't that great but the sambar was surprisingly good. The uttapam reminded me of some great uttapams I've had at other places. Overall, not a bad option at all given the limited non club kachori breakfast choices. Just frightfully expensive though.

I have tested veg dishes very less time. Today I tested again in hola.
Food is good enough to have. Test nice. Suggested dish "Tawa biriyani".
Quantity is not enough for all dishes.

Service us bad. Food serve after more than 20 min from order. Waited too long.

No washroom in the restaurant.
All over not a bad experience. If you are in near sapoorji then you should test the food from HOLA!
Indrani
Amazing food quality and totally value for money.. I had ordered dosa and pav bhaji.. both were yummy and priced reasonably.. A must try joint in Rajarhat..!! What disappointed me is their customer service.. They should immediately look into this..
Sanjana B
For those who live in or near Shapoorji, this is a decent option to enjoy south indian food make with hygiene (hopefully)

A small joint in Rosedale plaza which has opened some time back only. The Dosa preprations are good but the seating is not comfortable. The size of the dosa does not fit the table. Garlic bread is good. Masala chai is decent.

Price to quantity ratio is good. Overall a good option for Action Area III residents. Not worth for someone to travel all the way to eat here.
Kannu Maggu
This small joint is located in the Rosadale garden complex.
The ambience is okay, cause when its crowded, it becomes really loud because of its small area. Tables are too small. One table is barely enough for 2 people to dine.
The food is superb, but a bit spicy. We had peas pulao which smelled and tasted a million bucks. Dal fry was really good and its texture was superb. Mix veg was yum and super spicy. Chappaties were cooked properly and of pure flour.
A nice place to dine. It has a good variety in the menu, Ill surely try more and update the review.
Firoj Ahmed
Great ambience......Great food ...... Had one Butter Cheese Masala Dhosa and one Idli and two cups of Tea. Total bill 350 (including GST).
Highly satisfied. Would like to visit again.

Mouth watering dosa pizza! Fusion modified south Indian cuisine! Limited but quality options in Chinese and chaats section 😇😍 a bit far from city but worth it every penny 😊
Barsha Dey
A new food establishment located opposite UEM College. We ordered for two Masala Chai and a Butter Cheese Masala Dosa. The sambar and chutneys served were really good and it had a lot of cheese too. The quantity of chai served for 25 INR was huge but it tasted like normal chai with no masala flavour to it whatsover.
The service needs to improve as while ordering the waiters were clueless wether their kitchen was ready to serve us food or not.
Abhishek Singhania
Great place ! Great food, plenty of options to choose from, lovely ambience, rare to find in Kolkata, quick service, friendly staff, light on the pocket !
Shreyasi Ghosh
change your menu card as price list is wrong. Food was ok typ sambar was too spicy. And when we asked the waiters bout the price they have no clue about it. I don't know why they have charged 22% tax
Mohit Chopra
Go for the South Indian! The rava masala dosa is an absolute treat. We ordered a couple of items off the menu, and were very satisfied. Deserves another visit!
Ritesh Shrivastava
An absolute treat for a vegan. Just flip through the menu and you'll know that there are people who can work wonders with vegetarian recipes and with equal precision.

One of the best bets be it lunch, dinner or evening snacks. The quality of their food is just top notch and the taste second to none. Be it North Indian, South Indian or Chinese everything is just perfect. Love their range of Dosa’s, Chole Bhature, Chinese Bhel, Paw Bhaji from the snack section ! Even for lunch and dinner they have extensive every imaginable vegetarian choices.
Prompt service and a cheerful ambiance. Will always be at the top of my list of eateries. :) Do give this place a visit - with family, friends or colleagues.

I would really like to see them opening another outlet especially in the Ballygunge area!

Hola is great for family and friends. It has a capacity of 60 people approx. I enjoyed eating at Hola because of its affordability, delicious food, and a beautiful setting. It stands out from other eating joints in that area because of its multi cuisine food. The cosy atmosphere and the floor to ceiling glass walls makes it the perfect place to eat and bond. The area outside the restaurant is also very open and positive. South Indian food and Chana Bhathura are must try.
Kritika Singhal
A much needed multi-cuisine restaurant in Rajarhat for people who love food.
A wide range of variety from paw bhaji, sandwiches, South Indian delicacies, Italian/Chinese starters and lots more to tingle your taste buds.
A perfect place for family and friends! :)
Simplicity with finesse is what Hola cafe is all about. The special garlic bread is a must try for those who are bored of the typical ones available throughout the city.

Right now, there is absolute no reason to go to this place. 50% of the items mentioned in the menu are not available, takes a long time to get food/drinks, card payment not accepted ( though paytm is there); on top of that, overpriced like crazy.

Not going back anytime soon. Sincerely hope it improves.
