Review Motherland Cafe - Kolkata (Calcutta)

Very calming and soothing atmosphere inside the cafe. Literally away from all the city noise. Although we missed out on the pizza yet the cafe suggested to go for fetucchini which was super tasty and Mount Olympus was magnificent with all the spices cooked the way it should have been. It was super tasty. <3 Prices are indeed in the higher side but considering the ambience and food quality, it's not that bad a deal, I guess. Also, the cafe owner, I suppose was very hospitable and welcoming.

The place is really aesthetic and ancient. Ambiance is really quiet and calm, not like other posh restaurants. I have ordered Shroom Brioche and Japanese egg sando. Brioche was mouth watering,I will recommend it highly and the egg sando was average. However, I would like to visit again and try another food sometimes.

The Vibe. But it’s really also the food and the team behind always warm welcoming. You can work from here too. I sometimes just come sip my Cortado and work all day. The egg dishes are a knock out. But my favorite is the tortellini.

Beautifully nestled amidst old red brick buildings, this cafe is quite breathtaking. The food was really yumm and coffee was goooood! The team running the place was also courteous and helpful. Prices are slightly on the higher side which took us by surprise but the vibes of the place and the coffee made up for it.

Loved this cosy cafe. A lil far for me. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Hosts were very hospitable. Will try their breakfast next time.

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a little hidden away from everything making it a quieter place to sit and relax for a bit. We tried a bit of everything on the menu. We got the lavender latte and cinnamon cappuccinos which were beautiful in presentation and very delicious. We also got the pancakes with fruit, beans on toast, avocado toast, an omelette, and the mushroom brioche. Everything was delicious and you could tell that every person there was very proud of their work and food. The vibes are immaculate as well.

Good place to work and read. Perfect for solo dates! Not only is it super pretty and quiet, it’s also spacious and serves delectable food. Healthy and delicious both at the same time! Gluten free options are also available. One can expect nice coffee options and interesting beverages too! Try their Avocado Toast, Burrata salad, Mushroom Brioche, Cappuccino, Brittany’s crepe, Hand rolled tortellini, Watermelon & feta salad, Barley Detox, Cucumber Cooler, Gluten free Buckwheat crepe, Bomboloni and Lemon Blueberry cake slice.

Lovely, modern cafe serving modern Italian / fusion dishes, and great breakfasts. When I had lunch here I was impressed by their tomato sauce, which easily beats many I had in Rome - rich in flavour, hot just the right amount, absolutely smashing. I would say anything with that sauce on will be worth the price. Admittedly a bit more costly than the average cafe in the area, it is totally worth it if you're craving for something different - or if you just want to sit down and relax in a friendly, quiet spot. It is generally not busy, and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Totally recommend!

The atmosphere and ambience of the cafe is great, foods and drinks are good. We ordered a Pasta Alfredo, that's delicious!! Coffee is excellent. Services are too good, staffs are well behaved, they care about the guest. It's a hidden gem in Kolkata.

Good ambience. Service was average, staff were very good. I found it to be a bit overpriced. The chicken I ordered seemed to be overcooked. Although I'd go back there and explore more. I'd recommend others to check this new place as well.

Unique and Totally from the Heart. The Best restaurant in town.... they make their own pastas - sauces and grow a lot of the ingredients they use. This restaurant will remind you of those quaint cafes in lanes of Paris or Rome - the food - ambience and people are exceptional - Iconic place in the making.

You are welcomed... you are greeted and you are served with kindness. The location is situated just the first left before you take into park street. This is a studio Cafe, the ambience gives you a cozy feel suitable for friends, family and anyone working with a cup of coffee. We ordered their in-house coffee and it was such a subtle black coffee with flavor inside. The king's Bagel was absolutely perfect and presented in its original form. Sit back and relax. Recommend for all age group. N.B - Non Smoking Cafe. Cash and card accepted. In house product sale available

This cafe is located inside Chowringhee Mansion, without any boards outside, but still easy to locate. The owners are very friendly and food extremely delicious and thoughtfully curated. We had the Iced Lemon Americano which was refreshing and the Chef's Chicken Sandwich. The filling of the sandwich was creamy and served with a small serving of lettuce salad. We worked here for an hour and then left. The crowd and music was very chill. We had to pay 50 rupees extra for using the wifi. The food is not cheap but the taste is delicious.

If you're in Kolkata make sure you visit! The hot drinks and food (we tried the posh beans, avocado toast, masala eggs, cakes) were all lovely and you could tell it was freshly made with pure ingredients. Great ambience and staff too. My father and I enjoyed it so much we came back the next morning before our flight :)

Love this spot! Super chill vibes, awesome food! Owner's a gem. Whether you're binge-ing or eating clean, they've got what you need. Try the iced americano, gluten-free bread, and their homemade ginger beer – pure yum!
