Excellent place. Quality - Quantity both are really good. Although the price is reasonable. They also have a rooftop set up.

We have been frequent customers of this place since last 8 years. Food quality along with service is always best. Location is highly accessible.

It's over a decade old, situated in Gariahat offering Chinese & North-Indian cuisine with ample vegetarian options. 😋 Relished a variety of dishes, and I must say that their North-Indian food was at par with Chinese. A pocket friendly place, the staff were good and serves good variety of food. We took four seater table in the rooftop section and there was live music which was good.

One of the oldest in the city and of the first to serve sheesha, this restaurant is a pure gem! And this gem gets better because it has amazing, talented singer performing live whole week! The food is good here, be it Chinese or Indian! They also serve a great range of cocktails and mocktails! One can expect a really good service here and the price is too pocket friendly! A superb hangout place with excellent food. The ambience on the rooftop is too good. The food is quite wellmade with large quantities. The alcohol is a bit expensive. The chicken was very soft. 3 plates of noodles were sufficient for 5 of us.

One of the first place in Kolkata to have started serving sheesha was China White's. A sprawling property close in South Kolkata spanning across 3 floors. Drinks : ✓Screwdriver - One of the most common cocktails with orange as the base flavour. This was well made with a good tangy punch. ✓Cosmopolitan - My favourite cocktail of all times. The sweetness of cranberry and sourness of lemon makes for the best brunch drink. ✓Sunset shot - A kamikaze shot presented beautifully in the shades of sunset. ✓Lemon Ice Tea - This mocktail is prepared with fresh tea and definitely enhances the flavour since most places use a pre mix. ✓Blue Lagoon - Loved the blue Curacao syrup punched with pineapple juice. A tangy yet beachy mocktail. ✓Mint Ginger - This ones my absolute favourite. A take on virgin mojito but with added ginger strips. Since they are using fresh ingredients and also crushing it well, this is my most preferred drink. Starters : °Golden Fried Prawns - My all time favourite!! They are using the big sized prawns, perfectly battered and fried. Served with hot garlic sauce. °Stuffed mushroom garlic pepper - Mushrooms always have a soft corner in my heart and these were so good. Stuffed with cheese and spices, lightly battered and fried with chopped garlic and spring onion. °Chilly garlic pepper chicken - A fantastic preparation, which is delicious and is greatto compliment your drinks. Chicken juliens tossed with red chillies, onion, capsicum and soya. °Butter garlic fish - I loved the basa preparation. It was delectable! Basa cubes lightly battered and tossed with garlic, bell pepper & onion in butter. All the kebabs are served on a sizzler which gives out a lovely aroma of the butter and spices. °Tandoori Chicken - Juicy chicken legs marinated in rich Indian spices, served with mint chutney & salad. °Chicken Afgani Kebab - This boneless kebab uses melt in the mouth chicken cubes marinated in rich Indian spices and grilled to perfection. °Paneer Tikka - The subtle flavours of the spices used in the paneer could be well understood. The paneer was fresh and well marinated. °Fish Tikka - The fish used is basa and of course no smell. I loved the preparation and the hint of hotness in it Main Course : ✓Four treasure veg - Mixed exotic vegetables tossed and served in white gravy. There is no soya used and is a great option for vegetarians who love having a simple yet flavoursome dish. ✓Chicken chilly oyster - A soya based gravy chicken served with mushrooms and bell peppers. A perfect side to complement the noodles or rice. ✓Whole bekti in chef special sauce - I loved the fancy presentation and the taste of the fish cubes. To make it easy to eat, they are making the fish into cubes and then batter tossing it with chef special sauce. ✓Egg Wrapped Fried Rice - Some good fried rice in the house which is wrapped in an omlette and made to look fancy. ✓Chinese chopsuey - A take on the anerican chopsuey but without the tomato in the gravy. Loaded with vegetables and meat, it's a shareable dish. Loved the subtle palatable flavour. ✓Dal - The dal is to die for. It's super yum and definitely not to be missed if your choosing to go for Indian main course. ✓Chicken Labadder - Good portion of this tasty item to be had with rice or Indian breads. I loved how the look of this dish is though it's not hot at all. It's is flavourful and appetizing. ✓Aloo Biryani - That's for all my vegetarian friends who want to enjoy biryani. Light biryani with a lovely aroma and good flavours. ✓Assorted Breads - A tried a variety of the breads and each is very authentically prepared. located just opposite to the Gariahat oantaloons shop, where there flyover is starting. it is a very good place with great ambiance and good food. the surrounding is calm and decorated. although located at the 3rd floor (so may be difficult to locate), it has lift facility. manager suggests good good choices. you can get liquar there.card accepted.

This is a modest restaurant with a cosy ambience and delicious dishes. The staffs are well mannered and helpful. You can enjoy your food here. This place also serves you with alcohol.

I tried their hookah but for some reason it gave me headache. Maybe because it was really cheap. The ambience is okayish. Nothing over the top about this place. Visit only if you are really in a tight budget.

Now I visited this place after lockdown ,staff are very courteous ,we had hookah so they gave packed disposable pipe ,there are 2 sitting arrangement one in rooftop with huge space in between the table,I recommend u sir in rooftop if u r going by evening and enjoy ,we orderd chili chicken which was too spicy , spring roll was tasty,wonton was tasty too.

This is one of my favourite places for Chinese foods. The bhekti fish was a customised one we ordered a whole bhetki which was delectable. The quality of the fish was very fresh. Although it was a rush during durga puja but they paid attention to meet our expectations. A must try if you are visiting this place.

Went to this place for the first time last week. It was a good place with a nice ambience. Hookah was good & reasonably priced. Surprisingly, the food quality was excellent and everything we tried was awesome. From the chicken starters to the main course, consisting of pad thai noodles, kung pao chicken, food was unquestionably great. The management was a bit unaware about them having Zomato gold benefits,I finally got it after a bit of a struggle. Overall a 4/5 experience esp. because of the food.

The rooftop manager showed no courtesy towards us. Moreover that he kept shouting and told us what we are trying to order wasn’t available. This behaviour is really unacceptable especially for folks like us who have gone there for a very long time. Zomato please take a note of this un professional behaviour of the manager.

It is located at Gariahat road, just near at showroom of Pantaloons in Gariahat.<br/>•I had tried their Plain Veg Fried Rice and Chicken in Manchurian Sauce. Veg Fried Rice was amazing in taste. The rice was so coarse and veggies was well steamed.<br/>• Chicken in Manchurian Sauce was just fabulous in taste. It was so flavorful. Chicken was so tender and flavourful. The garnishing of all the dishes was so nice.<br/>• Quantity and quality of each item was enough and upto the mark. Service was so fast. Prices are appropriate according to the quality and quantity of food.

Nice place been here few times already. The staff are great and polite. Food quality is wonderful and specially the ambiance. We were in China whites on this friday night, had thought to spend some time there but ended up coming out disappointed. We were not in the 2nd floor seating, not the rooftop. Ordered peperred mushroom, service time and service was ok.<br/>Problem was with the dish, it had deep fried something, because we could not tell or find mushrooms anywhere in it. When asked what exactly they had prepared as we were looking for mushrooms, they said it was deep fried so it will be like this. We opened up a few of the pieces, could not find any trace of mushrooms. Sadly one of the worst mushroom dishes we ever had; had planned to order a few more dishes after this, but just paid the bill and left. 303 rupees for something we did not enjoy

China whites is a lovely place for having great food. I taste there different dishes. The chicken & prawn items i taste which is too good that i can't explain. The items are on affordable price. You can trust me & go out for a date, lunch or dinner.😉😍😋

One of the most happening place in South Kolkata situated at Gariahat opposite of pantaloons and the nearby place if golpark...!! The name of the pub is 'China Whites,'..,!! This pub has a beautiful rooftop view from 5'th floor along with the smoking area with some loud and soft jazz music..!!! , they also have the wide ranges of alcohol , and other beverages..!!! Friendly staffs along with their good behavioural attitude make the place so satisfactory..!!! Price are also with in the average ,, overall cost for two people is just RS 1000/- ,, so all the rooftop and pub lovers please do visit this place and have some good time with your friends...!!!

I went to the rooftop part of here, it's so good like they have ceiling and fans so even if its rainy it will be available (hope so). You can have anything here starting from hookah to boozing and even smoking. The food quality did not amaze me it was so average and I can't say I wasn't satisfied but going to the quality side it's fine. The staffs are good and friendly. But if you go there :/ god saves your ears because of live music (super loud). Overall it was a nice experience i love the ambiance might visit again.

This is a rooftop restaurant located near gariahat... Went with an office colleague who stays nearby.. Ordered konjee crispy chicken and chilly lamb along with egg hakka noodles.. He took drinks too.. The food was good and ambience could have been better but the music on the background was utterly noisy and we requested the staffs the to lower the volume but then again they hardly care.. And that was quite dissapointing.

Went on dashami for lunch and it was not at all crowded. We spent a lot of time ordering and eating Cantonese noodles which was stuffed with finely sliced vegetables, then burnt garlic rice which is one of their signature dish with chicken in hunan sauce. The side dish was neither too sweet nor too spicy and their quality and quantity is worth mentioning. Finally as dessert we took vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. The staff were very polite and courteous. And, the ambiance was quite pleasant. Looking forward to drop in soon.

I have been there for several times.It's a nice place to enjoy drinks and hookah with some good music.The service is also impressive.But food is average in taste and little bit pricey.

Very spacious, with indoor as well as outdoor (rooftop) seating arrangements ... Nice food, but what'll amaze you is a host of very cool cocktails... Do try some out, my favorite is LIIT and Mojito ... Must praise the service too - very friendly and yet courteous at the same time. And it won't be fair if I don't mention the Hookahs ... Brain freezer being my favorite, am sure you will have your own once you try some...

We both enjoyed the side dish with our choice of liquor.<br/><br/>Chicken Pizza : It was the perfect balance of chicken and cheese and it tasted really good.<br/><br/>The outing was perfect and thanks for the great food and service. The price was a little bit high but it's okay keeping in mind the quality of the food. Went to this place on saraswati pujo this year. Was totally disappointed with the food. Highly overpriced and the food was not worth the price. The quantity was too less. Had veg chowmein and Kung pao chicken and our bill was 756.<br/>

We went to this place for a quick lunch during puja time. Their ambience was simple but there was a classy touch in that simplicity . At that period of time heavy crowd was the most obvious thing at every restaurants and same with this place also. But they managed the crowd very efficiently and quality of food was also maintained . Service is super slow. They took forever while serving us starters. Our drinks were not cold anymore by the time they served the starters. But the food was top notch. I loved the taste. And the amount was quite good too. We had Budweiser, breezera and vodka. Along with that we had tandoori chicken(full), chicken fried rice, chicken hakka noodles and pan fried chicken. The taste of each of the dishes were lovely. And the quantity was more than enough.

Poor service and below par food quality . Noodles were not boiled properly. And the side dish has lots of soya sauce. On top of that behaviours of the staffs are not appreciated. Ambience is also not good. Looks like it’s a residential apartment turned into a restaurant. Pretty ordinary

Not a good experience at all. I have had meals here before however the experience i had 2 weeks back when i visited with my family was not nice. The taste of 4 out of 5 dishes we ordered were not up to the mark.

Okay so few days ago we went to china whites. This place is located at Gariahat. Its a restaurant and the ground floor is a hookah parlour mainly. Also they havea bar section in the ground floor.<br/><br/>The ambiance was good with cozy seating arrangements. We had a kiwi flavoured hookah and it was okyish nothing extraordinary. The hookah was 350/- including GST. But the food is definitely overpriced.

Not a very far away place but never got a chance to visit it. Heard a lot about the variety of this place. It was a sudden and unplanned visit and so could only try their sesame chicken and fish and chips along with shisha. <br/><br/>The chicken was well tossed in sauce and had the crunch of sesame seeds and fish and chips was quite delicious served with mayo dip. <br/><br/>Next time I would certainly visit the roof top and one visit is not enough to judge the place as the menu is huge.

Yesterday we went there to have som3le evening snacks..BThere are few reasons behind selecting China Whites, one is the good food, good ambience and last but not the least i.e zomato gold enlisted<br/>Unfortunately the experience was not great as the behaviour and attitude of the manager and other staffs changed as soon as we opted for zomato gold<br/>and they started their tantrums like u cant order seafood, special menu if u avail zomato gold.<br/>They were just few words away from saying that we have to eat what they will offer not what we would order.<br/>Our choice was pan fried crab and golden fried prawn<br/>As per the restaurant manager both were under special menu which they cant provide under Zomato Gold offer<br/>So instantly I took assistance of Zomato Gold customercare<br/>and I have to admit they made by evenkng by talking to the restaurant staff and manager and resolved the issue within minutes<br/>Then the manager served what we wanted and also showed some good gesture to cover up for his initial attitude. I am only give 2 star as the food was good. But service was not at all satisfactory.<br/>Ultimately we came back with happy stomach and three cheers to Zomato Gold

5* for this place as this one is just close to my heart. We went to this place during durga puja 2017, and ordered some 2 types of chicken dish and rice. Didn't like the food much as both the items tastes same and the rice was nothing to be fond of . Nice chilled out place but not much recommended for people who loves to eat. 👍

Went there for today's lunch ,with my brother... Ordered red pepper chicken, cantonese mixed noodles, brownie ice cream with hot chocolate.. It was an wonderful experience and the hospitality was quite humble and welcoming... Loved their food quality and taste, quantity is enough for two... Over all good place with good food..loved it...

Location:- Located just opposite to the gariahat pantaloons.<br/><br/>Ambience:- We had selected rooftop. So can't comment on the restaurant. The ambience is not so classy and the rooftop is actually shaded. Music was good. Full bar was available with hookah.<br/><br/>Food:- We had masala kulcha, mutton do pyaza & roasted chilli lamb along with lit. Food tasted great.<br/><br/>Staffs:- Staffs were very eager to serve the dishes. They give good suggestions as well.<br/><br/>Overall:- Nice place to hangout after a hectic shopping day in gariahat.

China Whites at Gariahat is quiet a seasoned restaurant in the circuit but the behaviours of the staffs are perhaps the chief reason why the restaurant is not in the priority list of many fellow foodies. Overall food quality is just average where the signature Chinese items fail to tickle the taste bud and price is okaish. Service is slow and the staffs are rude and if required doesn't hesitate to lie at your face. Not going back there.

Very easy to locate this is a well known bar cum restaurant in the gariahat area and visible from the fly over. We visited this place last Sunday and must tell the staffs are really courteous. We had pan fried fish, crispy chicken in chilly honey sauce and pan fried noodles. The fish dish contained almost 10pieces of fish tender juicy with a crispy outside and tossed in a red sweet chilly sauce. The crispy chicken was tasty but chicken pieces were so much shredded that sometime we had to search for chicken pieces . It was sweet as the name suggests. The pan fried noodles was just awesome. Prepared with plenty veggies in black bean sauce it was liked by both of us. Quantity was enough for two and the experience was satisfying.

you get good food, hukkah and nice alcohol there.. what else anyone needs to spend a good time. a nice ambience.. sitting on the terrace gives you a nice experience..

This place is located just beside the Prapti showroom near gariahat and on the opposite side of the gariahat Pantaloons.<br/><br/>The decor is modarate. The service is extremely disappointing and slow. They have live sport screening. They also have a smoking area, but you can also have it while seating on your own table.<br/><br/>Ordered:<br/>✔Spicy Chicken Pizza<br/>✔Sterling Reserve B-7<br/>✔Mint Hookah<br/><br/>The pizza was of thin-crust and was good in taste, they only have a single size pizza. If you come with a gang, and would tell them to divided it in equal pieces they will.<br/><br/>What would I tell about the drink and hookah, they always taste heavenly. 😅

Decent Chinese restaurant. Not the best of ambience, but good food and good service. Tried the Chilli Oyster Chicken and Mongolian Chicken and liked it.

I don't give a place such a low rating generally. But I couldn't go higher than 2. Mind you, the experience "at the restaurant" was more or less fine. We had ordered 2 starters, the tandoori aloo and mushroom. Virgin mohito. Mee Goreng noodles, chilli garlic rice and Packchoy. The noodles, mushrooms, and aloo were amazing and a must try. The mohito was good too. But the rice, was too bland. Packchoy wasn't to my taste.<br/>The staff was polite and decent, but felt clueless about the dishes. Pricing wise it was around 700/head without alcohol. The ambiance was nothing too great either.<br/>What compelled me to rate this place so low was that the next day, all of us feel sick with a bad stomach. So there you have it. Go there only if you want to risk having a sick day.

I went with my friends during Durga Puja. Although the food was excellent, the manager doesn't know simple things. We were a group of 6 and he added 2 plastic red chairs for us. On refusing to sit, he magically replaced them with their wooden chairs.<br/><br/>Coming to the food,we ordered Cantonese noodles, Chicken Schezwan and Chicken Manchurian. The gravy noodle was perfect.<br/>The spicyness of main courses complimented the noodles.<br/>I believe staff behaviour does matter but the quality of food is the only reason I gave them a 4 star.

I have been to this place twice. This restaurant has three levels. Both the times we have been to the top level which provides rooftop seating and allows smoking. Regarding the experience:<br/><br/>Food: We ordered Pan fried chilli fish, dry chilli chicken and Royal pan masala hookah . The pan fried chilli fish tasted nice, but more justice could have been done to the chilli chicken. The hookah was nice.<br/><br/>Ambience: The rooftop level plays loud music with sports telecast. A good place to hang out with friends. A little softer music would have been appreciated.<br/><br/>Service: Prompt service and courteous staff<br/><br/>Pocket pinch is a bit on the higher side. When you have a craving for Chinese food.. China Whites can be on your list.<br/>In frame **<br/>1. Mixed noodles : It tasted great. Went there with my friends a lot of times, basically it happens to be our adda joint during Puja, because they provide good shisha, good alcohol and good food. The ambience is quite good the waiters are polite and even they would suggest you some of their special items if you are confused<br/>Like old times we also went there for lunch @saptami this year, ordered chicken fried rice and Mongolian chicken, the chicken was quite good and tender provided with a nice and spicy sauce, the fried rice was quite good too the amount was moderate. This place is more famous and better for cocktails. Though they do have a great range of food items. It's quite nice.<br/>We had ordered for.<br/>Cocktails-<br/>1. Dry Martini<br/>2. Bloody Mary<br/>Food-<br/>Chicken reshmi Kebabs for starter. They were just love and really soft like melting in your mouth.<br/>Chilli pepper garlic Chicken- it was quite nice but the chicken could have been softer. Though the taste was pretty good<br/>Shezwan Noodles- this was a big disappointment. Neither it looked like one nor tasted like one. The taste needs to be improved.<br/>But the service was quite good and the cocktails are great.

Got half fried chicken, staff not great, I would not be recommending this restaurant. The hookah bar is a nice place but not properly managed.<br/><br/>

My Ashtami outing was this place...though they do not provide parking...but they do provide some amazing starters and hookah...we ordered one chilly chicken dry and chilly paneer dry with some beer and a hookah...all.were good enough and the staff is polite and courteous too..being Puja their orders were not delayed at all . So yes well managed too...thank your team China whites.. 💫

Soshti night was done right at China Whites. I went there with my friends before kick-starting pandal hopping.The ambiance is quite good and the staff are very courteous. We ordered quite a lot of stuff and I can't remember the most of them. My friend is a big fan of the drums of heaven they serve and I could see why. It was absolutely the right amount of fried with no excess sauces unlike I had in some places. And the quantity is again quite sufficient for 5 people. We also ordered tandoori chicken which was quite full filling but it lacked that punch of flavors big time. The pan fried chilli fish is too a must have here. Coming to main course, we were feeling quite full after having a few drinks and all the above starters so we decided to go light and order one mixed fried rice and chilli garlic pepper chicken. And to be honest we were not at all disappointed with the quantity and the taste at all. What I loved the most was despite the mad pujo rush they strived to maintain the quality of the food which is quite rare surely. I would like to recommend this place to all my fellow Chinese delicacy lovers out there.

Decent place. Despite the narrow entry the upper deck is properly divided. Single malt collection is ok. Had hot and sour chicken soup, followed by some steamed momo, garlic chicken and Cantonese noodles. Glenfiddich tasted as usual, as it is always, just one thing don't tell your patrons, how to mix their drinks and don't get over friendly and suggest that they should finish all the veggies. Quite unnecessary. However for a place like this, just because Gariahat, it's expensive.

This rating is strictly based on the Staff Service (Billing). Food is incredibly tasty. No questions whatsoever. Specially the Tau Si Chicken. We loved it very much. But my Zomato Gold experience was pathetic. They made 3 bills after I minutely checked the items & found huge errors twice. Not expected at all.
