Review Shalimar Restaurant - Kottayam

One of the best places to have porotta and Beef at Kottayam.! Not too clean. Most of the time the hotel is busy! I recently had the opportunity to try the mutton biryani from Shalimar for lunch on December 26, 2023, and, to be honest, it was a disappointing experience. Despite my high expectations, the mutton lacked the desired taste and the rice fell short of the anticipated quality. Considering the price point of 270 rupees, the overall experience left much to be desired. Interestingly, my friend had suggested that the meals were a better choice, which adds a contrasting note to the culinary offerings at Shalimar.

The place is a little familiar since they had space in baker junction. I still remember all the good days when I brought CB for 45rs. They were the pioneers in this field. Today, I revisited to taste it and was disappointed with the CB they serve now. They have to raise to the expectation of current Trent or else it will b hard to survive.

I love their porotta , beef and chicken fry..but the chicken biryani could be better.. reasonable price, parking space available

Went to have my favorite noon meals from there, but as it was past 2 o clock, time was over,and I had no other option but to have their chicken biriyani. To my surprise, the biriyani turned out to be one of the best biryanis i have had till now. The masala was so special. Totally satisfied. There was a big crowd waiting for their seats at that time. Parking is also very limited. Biriyani is highly recommended.

The place looks old but the food here is out of this world. The mutton biriyani over there was so good that it's indescribable

Gud food, great prices with average service. If ur looking for a no frill restraunt with fast service and gud food look no further.

A fine restaurant to go to when you're really hungry and needs quick and good food. Service is absolutely good and as I said if you want things to happen quick this is where you go. Wouldn't suggest for relaxed dinner with good ambience, but the place is neat and has decent parking.

It's a place where they are keeping there quality for a long time and still now it's one of the good restaurant in kottayam town.The staff are really friendly.If you are thinking about price range , i think the prices are reasonable. There's a good parking space outside the restaurant. In the restaurant it is very hygienic and clean. And it's my opinion so there is any other opinion let me know.... Thank-you

Breakfast had their porotta, aapam and idiaapam. Vegetable curry was good, kadalla curry was also good. Lunch had fish curry meals, good.

One of the best Porottas available in Kottayam. Their Mutton was also good.

Food is good and tasty but their service is poor..they don’t have enough staffs…!!

Decent food, decent parking facility. Food is nice.
