Review 900 Chira - Kottayam

Such a cute place set far outskirts of the township and it's surrounded by lush green and a tiny river in front of the Toddy shop. The view is really relaxing. The food is great! Been here multiple times, from Kappa to Lobster, all fresh and served hot! Karimeen Polichathu was cooked to perfection, so was the lobster. The kallu (Toddy) that you get here is also fresh and brilliant! A must visit Toddy shop if you are in and around Kottayam!!

"Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations"...This place justifies the saying... This is a gem of a place hidden between paddy fields..The food was outstanding , each better than the other...We ordered Kappa with fish curry, pearl spot (Karimeen) fry wrapped in banana leaf, Snakehead murrel (Varaal) fry...The speciality of the parlor is they serve Freshwater fish and dont expect to get lobsters , crab etc all the time ..They also had pork and beef in the menu.. Alongwith kallu (toddy), it is a wonderful experience to come and enjoy seafood in the midst of nature ..Dont expect a 5 star experience, its a shaap which has its own vibe to it ..

The standout dish at this place is their delicious manjakoori, especially during the season when you can get a good-sized portion at a reasonable price. Surprisingly, the parlor is often not crowded, and I don't know why they haven't upgraded their facilities to attract more family customers.

Ambience and scenic wise, its good. Family friendly. Have to walk 100mtr to there leaving vehicle. Not advisable to stay late with family. Road on the last lap to here is bit semi off road. Food is good but not the best. Also, bit expensive. I didnt feel any must try is there. Toddy we got was fresh and good.

This toddy shop is known as "thollayoram shapp". Thollayiram means 900. Superb ambience, you will love this place. FOOD is good not the best, i will say bit expensive( still decent) . Adipolii shapp... Super kallu.

Excellent little spot for good toddy. The Karimeen polichathu is highly recommended. Be warned...the road to the place is not all that great.

The best shappu food ever had in my life. It's better than Mullapanthal shaap. Located in a beautiful village.

A small toddy shop surrounded by vast fields. The route to this place so beautiful and picturesque, though the final stretch to the exact location is bit tough one. They got some amazing menu. The perfect punch of the "kodampuli" in the fish curry which goes well with their "Kappa". It wasn't as spicy as normal toddy shop standards. Super fresh fish cooked with perfect combination of the local spices. We went to try their lobster but it wasn't available that day. It was a wonderful experience to be in the middle of the field and have the delicious food they serve us.
