Review Ghee Roastery - Kozhikode

Me and my mom went to have lunch over here, as my mom is a big fan of Mangalore ghee roast dishes. We ordered their Signature ghee roast in Crab and chicken along with Neer Dosa and Batoora. I must say their chicken and crab Ghee Roast is super delicious and it’s a must try. They maintained authentic Mangalorean ghee roast spices and flavour I loved both versions. Their Neer Dosa is just ok ok I didn’t feel any wow about it. Also their Batoora was freshly fried and it was good. Also I had a tender coconut shake from there and I just loved it. It’s from a brand called Raspberry. Also their grape juice was too good. But I loved the tender coconut shake more. The restaurant is small but cute. When we went there were no rush and staff over there said they have rush over weekends. I think it’s a one time visit place.

A nice and different eatery in Calicut. Mangalorean cuisines and goa style fish fries are very rare in Calicut. Tried their fish ghee roast and chicken ghee roast, neer dosa and Bhatura. Both were good but I liked fish ghee roast more. They don't have a big menu, very limited number of dishes. Especially in bread section. Also the cost for bread seems a little high, especially for neer dosa.. Apart from that the rest service and food was good.

I,ll give 5 out of 5 for food Need to improve the facilities like sitting arrangements and all Talking about the pricing its little bit higher. One set dosa you need to pay 50 rupees But its really worth. Squid and crab roastery must try items.

An interesting new concept, never seen a Canara cuisine restaurant in Kerala. The interior is cozy and the ambience is completely different, the welcome is warm and of course the food is finger licking, just loved it. Just fell in love with mutton ghee roast and kokum mojito. Looking forward to go again and again.

Recently opened place for Manglorean cuisine lovers. Neer dosa was soft and fresh, which was one of my favourite thing.. Ghee roast chicken, had it for the first time, it was so yummy. And definitely you will feel the goodness of ghee.. masala was not at all spicy... Not all dishes in the was available, just started only.. Ambiance is ok. Parking space is there for few vehicles. Must visit this place if you like Manglore cuisine.. Little different from what is available around in Calicut...

Food was great and the service also. Loved the local cuisine which was served for the lunch. It was a great experience and would like to come again for the feeling of it. Strongly recommended for a lunch and dinner with family and friends.

Mouth watering, Yummy Mangalorean food, nice ambiance, for food i will give 5/5. For the service part they need to improve more. There is a lack of eye contact, no one attend the table for repeat orders, all the 4 staff are busy with their job, no one asked for the review, add on. For service i will give 2/5.onece again food was superb ❤️

Ghee Roastery ,situated just opposite to Lions Park at Beach Road Calicut, is a small restaurant that serves Mangalorian Cuisine, probably the first and only one of its kind. Tried their Chicken Ghee Roast, Neer Dosa, Biriyani, Squid, Prawns and Mojito. The perfectly cooked Chicken Ghee Roast and supersoft Neer Dosa were superdeliciocious that everybody in our team loved it. Biriyani Rice and Prawns were also good. The Squid we tried was average and we felt nothing special about the Kum Kum Mojito (not sure about the name) they served. Thanks to the team for introducing a new cuisine to Calicut.

A decent place in kozhikode to get authentic mangalore style food. Menu is nice and simple. Just a few authentic mangalore style dishes to select from. Apart from the menu they also have a few starters that is listed on the notice board. Overall the food quality is great. The taste is also good. Pulimunji fish curry was flavourful and had a good portion of fish. Chicken ghee roast had the flavour but needed a little more gravy. Neer dosa was good but could have been a little more softer. A must try for people who are looking out for mangalore style food in Kozhikode. It will not disappoint you. The location is a little tricky. The hotel cannot be seen from the main road. Look out for the Roastery board and follow your instincts.

An excellent place to eat Mangalorean style food. They have the classic Kori Rotti which is cooked to pertfection; the taste of the gravy was quite heavenly as well as the usual Crab ghee roast which titillated my taste buds and was fulfilling too when had with the quintessential South Canara delicacy, Neer Dosa. The best crab I’ve eaten to date in Calicut though the location could have been a bit better with their car parking located amongst the mud and slush of the streets

For sure all the dishes they have in the menu, will melt inside your mouth. Divine food! 😋

Ambience is very laid back and has a minimalist charm. Food is very good. This is a restaurant that serves a specific cuisine (Mangalorean ghee roast) so the menu is not vast but is limited. But whatever we tried was very good. There aren't any other restaurants in Kozhikode that serve these dishes.

Their highlight dish, Ghee Roast Chicken was amazing. That with their neer dosa is a must try. The staff was polite and helpful as well. Since they are located a bit inward from the main road it was hard to find the place. It would be good if they can make their sign on the road larger. When I ordered the food online, the quantity seemed to be smaller than the quantity from what I got at the restaurant. Otherwise it was good.
