Review Ladakhi Womens Cafe - Leh

Raquel
It's worthy for a home cooking style food for Leh, very simple and good food, that you see the ingredients are fresh and has a fair price. The ambience is very humble, but you can see local women cooking your food. I would return, because when you travel that's is the kind of food you need more, no big fuss, no much fat, good veggies and local

Reasonable prices for good local food. Managed by women. The food also comes from remote places and is organic. They also sing Ladakhi songs while cooking and it’s nice. It’s open only till 6pm. Good place to try local delicacies.

Nice place for some delicious local food made with love and cheerful attention. The hostess is really kind and sweet. Only downside is that they're located in an emclosed space inside the building so there's no great views.

Limiited options of traditional ladakhi cuisines in this cafe. We tried veg sku and veg chutagi which was subtle in taste but we felt less chilli and salt so we had to use their momo chutney, along with that it was good. They start from scratch and serve fresh so it takes a lot of time to prepare...so if you have enough time and patience, it is good to try here.

Wow! A super delicious, fresh, flavorful, healthy, rich food! They dont have many options, but the dishes they offer they make perfectly ! We ate every bite and left the plate all clean and shiney😄 this is how good it was! I really recommend (but be aware it is not a decorated or highly beautiful restaurant.. if you go there its only for the amazing food and the nice two ladies that make it)

One of my go to places in Leh for authentic Ladakhi food or some simple egg/cheese sandwiches and tea. The kitchen and dining are in the same area. Everything is made fresh and is worth the wait. Tashi and her friend serve everyone with a smile. The Khambhir sandwiches are perfect for a snack or light meal. Skiu, Chu thagi (local pastas) are also delicious.

While in Leh, we really wanted to try the local ladakhi food. However, none of the restaurants we saw seemed to have anything that was local. So while walking on the main market street we came across this little cafe. The menu seemed very interesting so we decided to give it a shot. It is a small room with just 3 tables in which the lady who took our order was also cooking the food. So you can imagine that the wait time was a bit long. However, the food was just amazing!!! Exactly what we wanted. Homely ladakhi food. I would highly recommend the stuffed khambir bread and the thenchuk ( not sure of the spelling, but its like a soup) We will be back here at least once more during our stay in Leh.
