Review Gupp Shupp @ Chai Shai - Leh

This has to be the best North Indian Cafe in Leh. Loved the food. Do eat their Kadai Paneer. Plus the green chutney that they provide is super awesome. If you want to have something light, try their Rajma Chawal with curd. Kudos to Deepu, Vinay, Dharmendra. I know them all because I visit them every day, feels like family now.

The chairs don't have backrest, but the food is good and the stuff are friendly. The prices are reasonable. It took like 30min till the food arrived but it normal here in India so don't come if you are in a rush.

An informal, friendly place, Gupp Shup (Gossip in English), lives up to its name. One of the few places in the tourist district in Leh, popular as a local hangout with the Ladakhi people. The Gupp Shup or Chai Shai as its more popularly known as, has expanded its seating area since my last visit, by relocating the kitchen. The dining area is now in four compact, intimate rooms, with each space designed separately from the others, making for a warm, bright, colourful and eclectic space, that invites one to linger and gossip(gup-shup), over chai. Their special masala chai, needless to say, is the best in Leh. You may end up having more than one.

This place is impressively spacious and serves incredibly tasty food. What's even better is the reasonable pricing; it's super economical! The service is top-notch as well. If you're in the mood for some delicious Punjabi cuisine, this is the place to be.

Everything I tried here was tasty. I would suggest the ginger lemon honey tea if you are looking for recommendations and also their rava toast.

If you are craving for North Indian food then Chai Shai is the best place for you. Everything is delicious, I would specially recommend Kadhi Chawal, Chole Bhature, paneer Paratha and the most important Masala Chai. The interiors are very cozy and colorful, and that instantly brightens your mood. The owners are very friendly and humble people and you would love interacting with them. Don’t miss this place if you are in Leh.

I stumbled upon this cute gem of a place, situated right at the entrance of Leh market. They serve variety of North Indian dishes including teas, having a very home cooked feel to their dishes. I was amazed to find such delicious paranthas, chutney and masala chai in Leh market during off season. I would definitely go back to this place to try more dishes along with basking the sun in their cute cozy ambience 😍
