Review The Mughals Dastarkhwan - Lucknow

Upasana Negi
While it's true that this place holds a special spot in history, my recent visit left me with mixed emotions. The much-talked-about hype didn't quite live up to the reality. The biryani, often praised, turned out to be rather average, and the kebabs were just passable. It's a bit disheartening when a longstanding reputation doesn't translate to an exceptional dining experience. Perhaps this place is more about nostalgia than culinary brilliance.

When in Lucknow , a must visit for traditional mughlai cuisine. Though the restaurant is under repairs at present undergoing renovation, it's a place not to be missed. Great food , authentic taste and value for money. The mughlai Paratha just melts in the mout and so does the gehlauti.

Visited this place for dinner on a friday night. The food is super delicious and the menu has many options for non vegetarian authentic mughlai cuisine. I had ordered Galawati Kebab and Chicken masala with mughlai Paratha and everything was just too good. The taste is as good as you can imagine. The ambience of the place is also decent. However some of the seating area in the upper floor is still work in progress. Also we had to wait for 15 mins for a table to be given to us as the place is crowded from evening especially during weekends.
Mukund Kumar
Had lunch at this place, very rich taste. Loved whatever we have ordered, they have a waiting time which may take some time to reach at table but rest everything is awesome. Apart from nonveg items they serve kheer & shahi tukda in sweet, that was also delicious. Loved this place ♥️

I of the best place to have the authentic mughalyi food .If you want to go with chicken then you must have chicken masala for main course and for starter chicken barra .The environment was very good .

The flavors are complex and well-balanced, with a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and tangy notes. Slow cooking methods like cooking in a sealed pot, are often employed to enhance the flavors and achieve tender and succulent meats. Pure Bliss. The service and the food is to the tee.
Vivek Agarwal
Ordered Galauti and Mutton Bhuna. Kebab could be better but I think they still are one of lko’s best. Bhuna Mutton was out of the world. Service is quick and crisp. No marks for ambience but one goes to these places for food not for the walls or tables. Overall must eat while you are in Lko.

It's a famous restaurant in Lucknow, and can be your destination for a family lunch/dinner. The biriyani here tastes good but not the best I would say. But the Chicken Lagan they serve is awesome. I highly recommend it!
Shashwat Nigam
Genuinely 5 star. Food is authentic, be it chicken masala or handi, paneer mughlai or kofta. Service is prompt, and seating is nice and Ambience as it should be.
Deepika Bahri
Amazing Kabab and paratha if you love spicy food.

Honestly, this is the best Dastarkhwan in Lucknow, the other ones lack taste. We ordered the famous Mutton Galawati Kebab (for obvious reasons) and paratha! It was yummmaazing!! After the kababs, we ordered Chicken Biryani and it also turned out to be a gem. Also, not to forget, the Shahi Tukda here is a musy try!
Subaash Viswanathan
I visited with my friends on for a lunch. Navigation was little difficult as there were multiple branches. The first thing we ordered was Galouti kebab and Ulta tawa paratta. Galouti kebab was ultimate. It just melted in the month. The texture and flavours were amazing. We ordered Naan and Paneer which were good. For dessert we had Kheer and Shahi Tukda (Must try). Only the veg lollipop was not that good. Parking seemed limited. Seating was fine. The service was good too.

Excellent food, nice ambience, real value for money.

Chicken kali mirch is worth the hype but didn't like chicken masala much which is a speciality here. Wait time was too high. More than an hour.
Abhishek Bhargava
One of the few old timers who have morphed into fine dine avatars over the years. The food is still pretty much the same but needs consistency within outlets. Hygiene and overall ambience is always a kill joy. Running a spick and span eatery hasn't been a strong point for any of these players. The place is family friendly and fairly busy. Wait time could be long if you are slightly late into rush hour of 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Their valets will help park your vehicle since the lane is narrow, two ways and with unmarked parallel parking spots. They do provide take aways and parcel excess food from your table if needed. Service is standout and very attentive.

So, I came to Lucknow for the first time and Dastarkhawan was my first place to explore the famous cuisine of Lucknow. It was amazing. If you ever visit Lucknow you can try for sure.!!

Shittiest biryani I've ever had. Consists of only plain boiled rice with boiled chicken and nothing else. No masala, no biryani chutney. Tasted like eating boiled rice. Even the chicken wasn't fresh...................

We ordered from here yesterday. Food was very tasty. Each and every item was full of spices and very well cooked. Will order from here again.

Never thought that dastarkhan would serve such pathetic butter chicken. Worst. Tooo much pepper used, hardly anyone can eat. Worst taste, roadside food better, after all u guys r charging so much😡
Ananya Chandra
Authentic mughlai food . Never disappoints<br/>
Sabrin Arifa
We tried the Galouti Kabab, Mutton Stew and Romali Roti, it was absolutely delicious. The staff was very courteous and proper hygiene was maintained. Although limited dishes were available now due to lockdown time but the taste was not at all compromised.
Kushagra Srivastava
Best chicken of the town.<br/>This place is highly recommended for those who like authentic non veg . <br/>Chicken masala , chicken kalimirch are the best meals available here.<br/>Taste is just wonderful .<br/>Place could have been a bit more clean .

Pathetic.... pathetic...worst food that I have got...the chicken masala had a dead cockroach inside it. The time demands such restaurants to be over protective of their food items but despite that they have such negligent attitude towards the customers. Neither I am ever going to this place nor i am ordering again.
Ankit Gupta
So since dining is closed in the city, I decided to visit the outlet myself to pick up the food. Having eaten from almost every Mughlai outlet in the city, I must say I had the worst experience dealing with two individuals who were sitting at the manager/cash counter and seemed like the owners or people who were running the show.<br/>They were not at all polite and had some kind of non sensible arrogance.<br/>The attitude was such a turn off that I decided to leave the place without taking the food.<br/>A piece of advice for the owners / manager if they are reading this - a place is not only known by its food but also by how they treat there customers...being in hospitality business, it’s high time u start dealing people with more compassion n care.<br/>

Dastarkhwan needs no introduction as its a legendary name in Lucknow! Its the safest option to go in lucknow if you are confused to have mughlai food! Mutton Bhuna, Chicken Masala, Dry Chicken Kali Mirch, Mutton Biryani, Boti Kebabs everything here is top class! A must must try in Lucknow! Although they have multiple restaurants in lucknow now but for fine dining visit Lalbagh branch amd for street feeling visit Tulsi Cinema lane outlet!

Another biryani city visited a couple of weeks back. Was keen to bring some back home to Mumbai, so called this place on the way to the airport. The order was ready, packed professionally and in a lovely bag. Lucknow people are lovely - everywhere. I got an understanding nod at the airport when I put the biryani bag thru security. The biryani is divine, subtle and the meat well done.
Sejal Abhangrao
The food was delicious. For starters we ordered Chicken Tangdi (finely marinated and well cooked leg pieces). For the main course we ordered Kashmiri Rogan Gosh and Galouti Kebab. Both the dishes were up to the mark. We also ordered mutton biryani which was perfectly made. One of the best biryanis I had in Lucknow. I would recommend it for everyone visiting the restaurant. The only thing disappointing was the garlic naan. It was too thick and we couldn't even finish one. The ambience was decent. Perfect for a family outing. The staff was well mannered and the service was up to the mark. <br/><br/> Overall food rating - 4/5. <br/>Ambience - 4/5. <br/>Service - 4/5.

I visited it after seeing the reviews with high hopes to get the real taste of Lucknow biryani. I ordered chicken biryani and it tasted like any other biryani i have tasted all over India. Also, out of 4 chicken pieces, 3 pieces tasted like they were not fresh. So, in my opinion, getting a regular average taste for quite a high price is not worth it.

So, I visited Mughal's Dastarkhwan today. I've been to this place many times since I'm a die heart fan of non-veg, especially chicken❤. This place never disappoints me with their food.<br/>I ordered Chicken stew, tandoori roti and phirni after I finished chicken since I'm a sweet tooth person too😉<br/>Chicken stew I must say is served best in town at Mughal's Dastarkhwan. It was really soft with equal proportions of each and every spice. It was garnished with some grated ginger and there were pieces of tomato. Just loved the taste literally.<br/>They won my heart again.<br/>Tandoori roti was also good and I ate 4 rotis, which I normally don't!<br/>Lastly, I ordered phirni and it was also very good. It was quite different from usual one but the aroma of cardamom won my heart.<br/>So, guys You can definitely visit this place and do try their chicken stew. It's really awesome ❤<br/>Trust me!

Mutton galawati and seekh kabab were awesome .. tasty... Yumm and must try... Love it<br/>Chicken handi biryani was ok.... Can had it<br/>But chicken chilli was not worth ki... Not to try

So guys finally got a chance to visit the oldest non veg shop in town<br/>Dastarkhwan<br/>Paradise for meat lovers! Amazing Galauti kebabs and biryaani what else does one need for a perfect meal! End it with Firni which had the right amount of sweet.<br/>Price For Two : ₹400 (approximately)<br/>Price for 2 is according to me

Best visit place for non vegetarian if you are in lucknow. Galawati kebab😋 is my personal favourite.Pocket friendly and staff are too cooperative.
Abdullah Asim
Average taste for some of the gravies we ordered(mutton & chicken). Chicken barra was good. Paratha mughlai was also good. Waiters don't serve in plates. A bit crowded.
Nitin Mehta
Very very very bad food, got sick and staff is super rude. Was in lucknow , saw rating and wanted to try. it was a failure . DO NOT TRUST OTHER REVIEWS. Save your health and mind. Not worth it
Sara Fatima
One of the best places to have authentic mughlai cuisine. Some of the best dishes are roasted chicken, chicken and mutton biryani and chicken masala! Super tasty food and good ambience.

Really great place for food in Lucknow.<br/>Must try items from the menu:<br/>Shami Kabab<br/>Galawati Kabab<br/>Chicken Lollipop ( it's different from the chinese one. Please have it)<br/>Chicken Kaali Mirch<br/>Chicken Masala with Rumali Roti / Paratha<br/>Fresh Lime Soda (Mixed, sweet and salty)<br/><br/>Keep up the good job guys! ☺

Huge waiting queues for better than average food.<br/><br/>I read a lot of reviews of this place and even heard about it from people in Lucknow.<br/><br/>It was close to my hotel so I visited for dinner.<br/><br/>There was a queue and it took almost an hour to get a seat. Luckily it was October so waiting in the open garden in the evening wasn't too bad. But during summers or winters, it must be pretty bad given the weather of Lucknow.<br/><br/>It is a fine dining place so my hopes rose up even more, of hogging on a scintillating dinner. The menu is elaborate covering all kinds of meats. The prices are on the higher side compared to a lot of places in Lucknow but that was not a big problem as long as the taste met the high bar of prices. But it didn't!<br/><br/>We ordered mutton biryani, kabab platter with rumali rotis. Kabab platter had 4 kinds of mutton kababs. Boti kabab was the stand out while galouti was disappointing. biryani was decent.<br/><br/>Overall, the flavour was average and to some extent, the place seemed over rated. The place is posh, in a good area and hence, probably better for families, which may lead to the high ratings.<br/><br/>I used ola so didn't check for parking. Service was decent.
Peeyush Jain
Brace yourselves for a long wait as the place was packed even on a weekday! But once you get in the service is quite quick and the staff know their dishes that makes operations swifter. On the ambience - its a nice Mughal setup but gets very stuffy and they need to work on making it more comfortable.<br/><br/>On the food front - we tried a portion each of Galauti kebab, Shami kebab both of which had slightly distinct taste and its my suggestion to go for the melt-in-the-mouth Galautis if in dilemma to choose one. The shami kebabs had an additional dal flavour to it and due to this took away the succulence a bit - but on the whole both dishes were good.<br/><br/>On the chicken front - The chicken barra was very well prepared and the chicken was quite juicy and we definitely enjoyed the dish.<br/><br/>But the one dish that stands out and is a must eat is the CHICKEN LAGAN! 🙌🏻 - on the looks like a Haleem style preparation but one bite and its a tsunami of flavors in the mouth. Pair it with some well made mughlai parathas to experience why this place holds the position it does.<br/><br/>Closing notes - Definitely pay a visit for Chicken Lagan but would still rate Tunday Kebabi (the original) higher or at par for the Galautis!
Shubham Jaiswal
In the lanes of Nawab’s City, this cozy place is always on the list of Food Lovers.<br/>There is nothing much on Ambience to look for but who cares when the Food is the highlight<br/><br/>You can go for Kebab with Paratha for the starters and also Seekh Kabab.<br/>Mutton dishes are truly tempting and perfectly cooked.<br/>We ordered Chicken Biryani which was a complete delight.
Anindita Pal
Just wow....food quality and quantity...ambience...great job guys!...kheer is a must try...good family restaurent..a bit costly but worthy at the same time.

When it comes to Lucknawi food, you might have heard of the word "Dastarkhwaan" more often than the rest. Even though I have often been a regular visitor to rest of the DastarkhwaanS in town, this was my first visit to this restaurant. To be honest, I went with quite a lot of expectations, owing to it's popularity, but I had to face disappointment. First of all, we went around 2pm, which meant we had to wait for 20-25 mins before we could get a seat. But that wasn't a huge deal, because anything for food! We had ordered a full Handi Chicken, Paratha and a full bowl Biryani. Focus on the word "full" because they refuse to serve half plates of the same dishes which left me wondering why do they mention it in the menu anyway?<br/><br/>Handi Chicken- Rich but had a sweet flavor which personally put me off since I have a tooth for spicy food.<br/><br/>Chicken Biryani- It was almost Bland. You would barely figure out the difference between a regular rice and biryani if not for aroma and chicken pieces.<br/><br/>Overall, I believe the prices were too high for the food that was ultimately served. I would any day compromise on the cheap ambience of ther other Dastarkhwaan in Lalbagh, than choose to compromise on taste by picking this place.

One of Lucknow's iconic restaurants, I wish I could have visited more often<br/><br/>The mutton Biryani and the Galawati Kabab were absolutely top-of-the-line and the kababs were melt-in-the-mouth delicious. The Awadhi kheer non-pareil....<br/><br/>The location is such that it is easily accessible from all parts of Lucknow. The service is quite fast and one doesn't have to wait long before being served<br/><br/>All-in-all an unforgettable culinary experience...
Gaurish Bhargava
The food was amazing as always specially the mutton galouti kebab and biryani . Chicken handi was ok ok not so good because it had some after taste of oil and seekh kebab was also ok ok as it was not fresh and it a bit hard . Ambience was good but as usual the AC was not working properly . Do try the galouti kebab and biryani.
Raikamal Roy
We went on a Thursday evening and the place was packed! Didn't have to wait too long and the service was quick and the staff was very polite and cordial. Unfortunately the place wasn't as clean as I would have liked. The floors were a little sticky and spilt food had not been cleared completely.<br/><br/>But the food was excellent and the portions were very generous. We ordered the mutton shami, chicken boti, chicken handi, and rumalis. There were three of us and the portions could have fed three more. I would have enjoyed everything more if it was a little cleaner.

So, This place is should ve rated as 5 ★ for their ambience, staff and especially for quick service.<br/><br/>they have a altogether different taste of Galauti and i must say its great in taste, but tundey has the first position in this segement. Biryani is authentic and very must have.<br/>Chicken Afghani is a must try because they prepare it better than tundey kababi.<br/><br/>Shahi tukra is the reason, i am rating this place as 4★,<br/><br/>because they it was not up to the mark compare to other foods.<br/><br/>But if you are in lucknow, Dastak de dijiye Dastarkhwan pe
Aayush Chauhan
Very polite and requesting members are there.<br/>They give a huge respect . There is clean and happy full environment. Good mood freshening place this is.
Pratyay Masanta
Very standard restaurant at Lalbagh area in Lucknow. We did order the Lucknow specialities - Galawti Mutton Kebab, Mutton Seekh Kebab, Tandoori Chicken, Keema Naan, Shahi Tukda. All the foods were prepared very good and tasty, no compromises with that I must say. Restaurant service is splendid and all of the employees are efficient and customer handling is very good. Since this is one of most busy and popular restaurant in Lucknow, you need to reach a little early than the usual dinner time otherwise the waiting time is a bit long, but they have seat for people waiting for their turn. So overall a fantastic experience and highly recommend to everyone to visit this restaurant while visiting Lucknow City.

The Food Was Awesome...I Ordered 2 Plate Chiken Lollipop and Chiken Masala Full and rumali..rotis...Chiken lollipop was the most tasty chiken lollipop i ever eaten...But There Is Time Taking in some dishes like Spring rolls..<br/>I'll Give Points Like Wise<br/>Food-9/10<br/>Ambiance-8/10<br/>Service-8/10<br/>

Half an hour waiting on a Saturday afternoon - after eating the food, I knew why. The Bhuna Gosht Masala was one of the most exceptional mutton gravy dishes I’ve had. <br/>However, I think the seekh and galouti kebabs could really use some improvement. <br/>Ended my meal with some Shahi Tukda, which is an absolute must-try! All in all, the food lives up to the hype.

Had a horrible experience. Cannot visit this place for dinner with your family. The place is frequented by drunks who stare and misbehave with women. Had a bad bad experience Last evening. Had visited the restaurant with my wife and two kids and 2 drunks in Safari Suits were misbehaving and on complaining to the management they were unable to detain the two miscreants. Eve teasing is a crime under section 294 of the indian penal code. The management is incapable of providing a safe and harassment free environment for families. It's a disgrace to lucknow the values of this city and a blot for the community which this institution stands for. Will never visit this restaurant again and will caution decent family members to not go there late and be wary for drunks in Safari Suits.<br/>
The MadCar Foodies
Dastarkhwan, one of the oldest and best place to experience Mughlai food in the city of Nawabs, Lucknow. Braving the test of time, the restaurant still manages to preserve its rich royal heritage be it through its architecture, 'khatirdari' (hospitality) or food. The rich Mughlai cuisine with aromatic spices is a major contributor. These mouth-melting kebabs have chronicles of their own, worthy to be told and savoured.<br/><br/>Speaking of the food, Galawti kabab, Seekh kabab and Mutton biryani are a must try. <br/>Galawti Kabab - The softest kabab I have ever tried in my life. It just melts as soon as you put it ur mouth. A must try kabab which has long history behind its making. Undoubtedly the best Galawti kababs in the City, accompanied by green chutney and Partha, the combination is just heavenly.<br/><br/>Seekh Kabab – Mutton seekh kabab served with bunch of mint leaves, onions, mint chutney and a slice of lemon. The kebab was so soft, crispy and juicy that you will end up eating more than a portion.<br/><br/>Mutton Biryani – If you are a BIRYANI LOVER and the aroma is more important for you than the typical masala biryani then this is the place. The restaurant offers amazing biryani with such a great aroma.

Delicious. Heart warming .was alone so just had the chicken tikka masala with the ulta tawa roti. .it was the best non veg I have ever had. Absolutely melt in mouth!. Food is heavy , so do built an appetite before you hit the place

I recently visited this place and it is very good place in terms of taste of food, but I am very much disappointed by the hospitality. The staff is rude with customers here.
Crazyfortasty
I think this is the best place to have perfect mughlai non vegetarian in this beautiful city. I had come here after a long time and this place was in my list of to be visited places. Every reason for a 5 * :<br/><br/>Ambience - very beautiful.place with very planned sitting arrangement.families and groups had a different portion to enjoy food. Cool....quiet...neatly maintained<br/><br/>Taste - Simply no words. Trust me...the galanti kababs I had there were the best galautis I have ever had in my lifetime. The parantha was an icing on the cake. My stomach was full of these but the urge to have more was still not gone. 5*<br/><br/>Pricing - a little on higher side but as far as taste is concerned ....Anything is worth paying<br/><br/>Staff was very courteous and polite.
Assu K
What a place.... All veg and non veg item available...medium price rate.... Good seating available... Table service....serve at late night also.... Large area..cash and cards payment can be done... Good to bring kids and family for dining....can be visited alone...hotel easily visible and can be located easily....overall worthy hotel with good pricing and delicious and yummy food item

Think of kali mirch chicken go to this place.Masala chicken is better of at open air restaurant beside Gemini continental.Though the name is same but it’s better if there.I have also tried other dishes here and have visited thrice or more but couldn’t get anything better than kali mirch here.
Rishika Sen
Amazing biryani. Simply amazing. The service is fast, they don't make you wait for long. Galauti kebab was mind-blowing. The chicken Dastarkhwan special was amazing.

I have got bad experience with this biryani, waste food. I suggest to you don't order, waste of money, waste of time, no quality, don't order

The Mughal's Dastarkhwan || Lalbagh<br/><br/>Ever since moving to Lucknow, I wanted to visit this place. I visited the other Dastarkhwan restaurant a few times, but this was my first visit to the original one.<br/><br/>The inside of the restaurant is not very spacious to be honest, but it does well to accommodate enough people. We were lucky to arrive early and got a place to seat without any delay. It was almost full even on a monday afternoon.<br/><br/>We ordered Mutton Galouti kebab, Chicken Afgani, and Tandoori Chicken. All were equally brilliant.<br/><br/>In main course we ordered only Chicken Handi and rotis.<br/><br/>The stuff was very courteous. Service was fast. The interior gives you a vibe of the old Nawabs.<br/><br/>Food - 4/5<br/>Service - 5/5<br/>Ambience - 4/5<br/><br/>Overall - 4.5/5<br/><br/>Definitely one of the better places in Lucknow to have authentic Awadhi and Mughlai cuisines! Worth visiting.

We went to this place and ordered chicken masala, galawati kebabs and chicken biryani.<br/>All of the dishes were ok but had much more expectation from the place.<br/>Chicken korma:-3/5<br/>Galawati kebabs:- 3/5<br/>Chicken biryani :-3.5/5<br/><br/>The place was packed to 200% capacity with huge waiting, so plan for early visit to this place to avoid long waiting time.

This is best place to grab mughlai delicacies . An awesome place to enjoy with family and friends with the variety of dishes available at a very reasonable cost
Foodiemonial
Dastarkhwan always has the best quality and has never disappointed us in terms of its taste and service. Love their chicken masala, handi chicken, Mutton qorma, Biryani both chicken as well as mutton. Kebabs are also a must have😋
The Food Spy
This is probably the best non vegetarian joint in the city, serves excellent mughlai delicacies. Their kebabs & chicken marsala are really awesome.
Aman Snehil
Beyond any doubt one of the best Mughlai food joints in the city of Nawabs...Boti Kebab is a must try. Tender, succulent Boti pieces prepared in the Mughlai gravy. Mughlai parathas are also great...<br/>Parking is an issue and U may have to wait for long....but believe me, The food will compensate for all.
Rajeev Kumar Maurya
Dastarkhwan is one such place which has been delivering the same taste from the past two decades. This place offers soft, tasty and delicious chicken delicacies, galawati kebabs, biryani's and mughali dishes.. overall it's an awesome place and Lucknow me aake yaha khana to banta hai! 😋<br/>I tried chicken tandoori and found it was lacking some taste which could be improved. Chicken kadhai was full of oil and looked less like chicken kadhai..taste was good though and the quantity was less comparatively.. biryani was tastier and best among the dishes ordered..!
Munmun Mitra
A heaven for meat lovers. The galawati kabab just melted in the mouth. Though the wait time was a little long, but then it was worth every minute. The service was prompt, the person taking the order knew about each dish. Certainly recommend if you want to taste the cuisine of Lucknow.
Ankit Hatalkar
Best non-veg in LKO. Try bhuna ghosht and chicken lagan, along with mughlai parantha/sheermal and dhaniya roti. For kebabs, I'd prefer Shekhawat.
Ranjeet Upadhyay
I have the worst dining experince today. A cockroach served in mutton biryani. Will never visit this place ever in my life. The management was not even sorry for such nuisance. The standard has gone too down .
Elvis Paul
best galauti kabab i have had in lucknow so far. shami kabab was good as well. The chutney packet that they sent along with the kebab was filthy though. Having found this place, i am done with the over-rated tunday kababi when it comes to kababs.
Dev Rawat
been there with mah friends this is the legend of all the mughlai food in lucknow. The food the service the taste all are balanced nd well maintained by dastarkhwan. Chicken kali mirch is mah fav.
Ramya Kolli
A little on the expensive side, mutton nahari is Soo yummy it just melts in the mouth.<br/>Service is a little slow, but worth the wait. One of the must try places if you visit Lucknow. The other branch of dastarkhwan is a bit cheaper, if you don't mind the ambience try that.<br/><br/>
Soumik Talukdar
My tryst with Lucknowi cuisine was with the luncheon at Dastrakhan. It was one of my first places to visit when I had visited Lucknow.<br/>What we had ordered:<br/>1. Gulawti kebab<br/>2. Fish tikka<br/>3. Chicken Biryani<br/>4. Chicken Masala<br/>5. Shahi Tukda<br/><br/>The food was as expected was of good quality. The chicken masala was I liked the most.
Sanaviya Fareed
To experience the real Awadhi cuisine and Nawabi taste, Dastarkhwan is the best place in Lucknow- the city of Nawabs! Clean and delicious food here is a treat for foodies! ;*)
Sudipt Singh
Good food in lucknow, specially mutton items but not delivery in indira nagar. We want to eat your delicious mutton item. Please do some thing.
Nikhil Agarwal
Good place to try on that Mughlai flavour. Plus point here is the size of the Kebabs, although here some points are lost here to the competitors on the taste part. Way they handle deliveries is also nice!
Piyush Kumar
Visited this place on 23rd March, 2019. As i was visiting lucknow after a long time and wasn't planning bro come back anytime soon, i decided to have lunch at this place.<br/><br/>After waiting for half hour to get in and then 15 mins for the food to arrive i am disappointed to say that the food was below average.<br/><br/>We ordered for following items:<br/>1. Galauti Kebab: Really dry and chewy, can get better kebabs than this on the streets of delhi.<br/>2. Nihari Gosht: The mutton was soft and the gravy tasted good, a bit oily though.<br/>3. Paneer Mughlai: we were told it would be spicy but turned out to be sweet.<br/>4. Dhaniya Roti was hard again.<br/>5. Chicken Biriyani was the biggest let down, no flavor at all, it was just some rice mixed with chicken.<br/><br/>All in all did not live upto its name at all.
Raahi
If you are in Lucknow and you have to put dis Restaurant in your to do list. Best place for Mughlai food..Good food with good Ambience and sitting..the quantity is also good for 2 people..we ordered Tundey kebabs,Mughlai Paratha,Tandoori roti and chicken lagan..it was nicely done..will visit again..<br/><br/>Cost for 2 : Inr.600 approx.
Paulami Dey
Busy place, mostly because of the delayed service. The staffs were too casual to be prompt. Anyway, the food was moderately nice. We had Shami Kebab, chicken malai tikka, laccha paratha and mughlai paratha.<br/>Shami Kebab seemed a bit undercook at the centre. Other items were good.<br/>Price was on higher side comparatively.
Supradeep Paul
Amazing food good service worth visit when you are in Lucknow. We had ordered galauti kabab along with Nihari dhaniya roti and mutton biryani. Thanks team Mughal Dastarkhwan for this auwsome experience. <br/><br/>Food - 4/5<br/>Service - 4/5<br/>Ambience - 4/5<br/>Overall Experience - 4/5

Had amazing Galouti kebabs at this famous eatery in Lucknow. I haven't had such mouth melting kebabs. This was different level altogether. Would love to have boti kebabs.

Coz you can't afford to miss Dastarkhwan when you are in Lko! :)<br/><br/>Went there for a friend's wedding and while my stay was for one day only, I managed to carve out time for this legendary joint.<br/><br/>First of all, thank you to the owners for helping me with my luggage problem so that I could have my meal in peace. <br/><br/>While, the joint is not without it's faults, it still is brilliant.<br/><br/>Coming to ambiance, very minimalist, not too fancy, not too basic....just OK. However, I can't think of any reason why someone would look into that.<br/><br/>Coming to food, I tried following items:-<br/><br/>1. Galaouti Kabab - Yumm...<br/>2. Muttok Seekh - Good, but I was getting little shards of bone in it.<br/>3. Shami Kabab - Wonderful.<br/>4. Boti kabab - Lip smacking....the best of the lot for me.<br/>5. Chicken Biryani - Good indeed. However, it was not what people call mind blowing, I guess, my expectations were too high.<br/>6. Shahi Tukda - Not good....Although, the server by mistake served it cold and got scolded by owners...so, I understand.<br/><br/>Service was a little out of sorts, but I think, that'll be everyday story for them considering the rush and waiting time there.<br/><br/>Overall, I could see the reason why people wait outside and are delighted inside the joint. Till we meet again....Keep up the good work folks!

The Mughals Dastarkhwan, food like no where else. This Lalbagh Outlet is a Gem of Lucknow. There Chicken Masala and Galawati Kebab is a must try.<br/><br/>The WARQI PARATHA can be complimented with just any dish you want. The Kulladh Kheer was the cherry. Perfect mix of sweetness and consistency.<br/><br/>Had the opportunity to sit down with the owner Mr. FAISAL ARFEEN and have lunch with. An utter gentle man with the love for food and serving his customers.<br/><br/>

One of the finest destination for Good Non Veg Food in Lucknow<br/><br/>It's not a fine dine nor the cult ambience Restaurant<br/><br/>But decent enough.<br/><br/>And the Food does the remaining.<br/><br/>Service can sometimes be slow because of the rush.<br/><br/>But it is worth the wait.<br/><br/>Mutton Boti Kabab being my Favourite here.

My first time -<br/><br/>Chicken Kali mirch (dry) - 3.5/5<br/>Mutton Nahari (day special) - 3/5<br/>Chicken lollipop - 3.5/5<br/>Kheer - 4/5<br/>Shahi Tukda - 4/5<br/>Mughlai Paratha 4/5<br/>Malai kofta - 4/5<br/>Dhaniya Roti (day special) (fluffy bread type) - 4.5/5<br/><br/>Overall 3.5/5. (more for non veg dishes I had)<br/><br/>Considering the hype around the non veg dishes here, I had high expectations which the restaurant didn't live upto.<br/>The Kalika Hut Gomti Nagar has better mutton dishes I believe.<br/>

Had a lot of expectations but the food here turned out to be pretty average. We ordered Chicken Masala (courtesy suggestions on Zomato) and Butter Chicken (usually a safe bet), but none of them quite lived up to the expectations.<br/>The staff, though, was courteous and the serving size was fairly large.

One of the good places in Lucknow to savour mughlai food. Ordered mutton Biryani, Boti kebab and kalimirch murgh. The place has a nice ambience and price is decent. Staffs are courteous and just a point to say, tables are small.

We ordered Mutton Biryani and Paneer butter masala from here, the mutton biryani was great exactly that you expect from a lucknawi mughlai restaurant and the paneer butter masala was absolutely fabulous.

I don't usually give below three stars, but this place really disappointed. Maybe also because the expectations were to high.<br/><br/>Went for dinner and had the following (ambiance and staff were fine):<br/><br/>Shami Kebabs -- Decent<br/>Chicken Masala with Parantha -- Horrible. Parantha was good, but Chicken had a weird taste.<br/>Mutton Nahari with Dhania Roti -- Nahari was okay, but the Roti didn't go well with it at all.<br/>Butter Chicken with Butter Naan -- Naan was great, but Butter Chicken was quite bad. The Chicken tasted stale, and we couldn't go beyond the first bite.<br/><br/>I was later told that the original Dastarkhwan is near Tulsi Theatre. Maybe the food the would've been better. This one was thoroughly disappointing.<br/><br/>

Not best but the master of some dishes. Chicken masala the favorite of among all the available dishes, And must try galawati kebab with tandoori partha as a starter. Interior not pretty good but the name is enough 😋✌️

Always a pleasure to be at this place. As authentic as it gets without navigating the alleys of aminabad. Tough to name a few dishes, but go for the boti and kebabs if you're a first timer.

A great family restaurant with some of the most sort after Mughlai dishes. A must visit place when you are in Lucknow! The only complain that i have with this place is that the sine dishes contains lot of oil.

I went there on sunday afternoon and the place was full. Located at one of the food hubs of the city, this place serves tasty non vegetarian food in its nice mughlai architecture and warm service.<br/>I ordered for chicken clear soup which was very tasty and chicken masala along with parathas. I must say chicken masala had a unique taste which was quite different from that found in all the other places.<br/>I recommend everyone to satisfy their non veg cravings here, atleast once!

Order:<br/>1. Kebab Platter Special (galauti kebab, shammi kebab, seekh, boti kebab*)<br/>2. Chicken Barra<br/>3. Chicken Biryani <br/>4. Muglai parantha*<br/>5. Laccha parantha<br/>*Must try<br/><br/>If you are a mutton gravy fan, you are going to love the boti kebab and muglai parantha combination. It is one of my favourite dishes.<br/>The galauti and shammi kebabs are very soft and it depends on person to person to develop a taste for them.<br/>Chicken Barra is soft and spicy, perfect starter finishing off with biryani which is a little different from what I usually have as it doesn’t have the masala or salan that i am used to.<br/>Nonetheless, the food will never disappoint you.<br/><br/>There is generaly a waiting here but the service is quick.<br/>Reasons for recommendation:<br/>1. Good food<br/>2. Quick service

This place is one of the top 5 places in Lucknow for Avadhi cuisine. The ambience is good. But due to popularity one might have to wait for a table on weekends or holidays.<br/><br/>I ordered a fish Tikka which is their speciality. It was well baked in tandoor, soft and perfectly spiced. The galawati kebabs were soft but a bit spicy for my taste. Both of them were good.<br/>Biryani was basically biryani rice with mileky spiced chicken pieces. The fragrance was good but seemed to dry fit my taste . Although I learnt that it's traditional biryani which has no masala only rice and meat.

Great ambience and great food. Funnily enough the waiter said that the kebab will be like Tunday, slightly bigger in size and they were, not as soft though. Breads are all delicious. Couldn't try the Biriyani. Not the cheapest option for decent Mughlai food but a must go for the ambience, if overpricing isn't your concern.
