Review Royal Cafe - Lucknow

I must say their ambiance is just rocking. We go their for their signature busket chat. First of all the presentation is very refreshing and colourful. There is a blast of flavours in the mouth, in every bite there is a unique flavour that's pleased your mouth. Absolutely in love with it.. Highly recommended.

I visited here on 26th Nov 2023. I had Basket Chat, Taste was good and also their Hajmola. The atmosphere was good here and people were excited to meet the Chaat kind and have their favourite dishes. Only thing which I feel is the price is on a little higher side.

This is truly a royal restaurant. The restaurant is located in a prime area. All chats are located at the entrance of the restaurant which are really appetizing. The restaurant has two floors and both the floor have a great ambience. The food is really amazing. We went for dinner and tried some vegetarian options. The spinach soup had small paneer and carrot bits which added to the taste of the soup. The vegetarian assorted kebab platter had all the kebabs they prepare and came in a very good presentation. The tandoori breads were extremely fresh and had a good taste. They are worth trying. They add food color to paneer butter masala to bring out that bright orange-red color, but the taste and consistency was on spot. The veg kofta gravy was good and mildly spicy as requested. Overall the food was a solid 9/10. The service was also on spot as they suggest which one to try and they serve all food on your plate as well. They were very courteous. But they do expect some tips at the end when you are paying. Having said all these, I would recommend this restaurant only if you are ready to pay high cost. They use their image that many celebrities come to Royal Cafe.

Food was ok, not bad in taste and not very great to remember. I am a fan of hot and spicy foods and perhaps both of them are missing in entire Lucknow. Service was also fine, not much waiting.

The Basket Chat is very popular, and indeed it is good. But the restaurant staff inside was quite hostile. The prices are a little high, so go with a full pocket.

Wonderful eat joint bang at the start of MG road , Hazrat ganj. It's so close to the metro station . For people with a gastronomic sense and a busy tongue, this is the place to be. On tha patio and pavement is the chat corner and sit leat done in is there next. The food is great. The taste typical avadhi. The cleanliness and hygiene praiseworthy. The attitude, attentiveness and behaviour of the stewards very polite and disarming. The Indian menu is full of fragrant, aroma filled delights. The kebabs are sumptuous . The mutton prep are really canvassed for bt the staff and are good. Must visit while in Lucknow

It was a good experience, The food was delicious and tasty and the portions were very nice. Lemon Coriander soup was very tasty and the Paneer Chilli was good but similarly very oily, that could be avoidable. Overall it was a good experience.

Best place to visit in lucknow If your are foodie...very good staff there services are really good. And it was famous for there chat...I really like to recommend to every body to try there chat vairety...also it was located in very nice place which is called hazaratganj...very good place to shopping and hangout purpose...but,the royal Cafe taste is very good..you can visit with your friends and family...sometime they start changing there food vairety as per Indian festival...like in Navratri they also offer you to fasting food, so it was really good to all people in fasting.

We tried papdi chaat and basket chaat here and I liked papdi chaat very much coz it was crispy and with a lot of curd and chilli chutney.. but have mixed opinion about basket chaat. For Street food options, this place is right choice, a bit more hygienic and spacious . Famous in Lucknow for it's chaat options, always jam packed.

Quite an expensive one with one basket worth Rs 250. Only self-service is there and one may have to stand right on the footpath. A one-time recommended place for having one basket chatt.

Royal cafe in Hazaratganj was on top list...and m glad i tried their chaats and batashas...I ordered Chatpati palak, Dahi batasha same as we get stuffed golgappe here in Delhi, Mattar tikki which was out of the world and this would be my best tikki till years now..lol..I cnt forget that soft mouth melting taste of mattar tikki...I also liked their Chatpati palak chaat as it was a new concept for me and nvr knew i will become fan of this chaat...This is f best place for all the chatoras like me..hahah...They serve world class chaat here...Thank you.

Royal cafe is famous for basket chaat. I've tried basket chaat many a times but this time, I tried papdo chaat and it was very today. It had papdi, pomegranate seeds, coriander leaves, sev, tamarind chutney, coriander chutney and gave the taste of sweet, sour and spicy in one plate. I loved the place a lot, including the ambiance ❤<br/>The service is really quick and staff is well trained.

I ordered for their premium thali which had six dishes including a sweet as well , I must say the food taste was awesome so far in Lucknow but quantity and packing was something can be better. As you can see in pictures the salad was not even packed.

Gentle Ambience, Enough space, Good crowd, royal inn legacy and awesome food is all about royal cafe. I had ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and believe me that was so good. It was spicy enough as much required and gravy was light. Hot n soup soup was also good with good quantity.

Taste is great and so is the ambience. Food is served in large potions so confirm before ordering in large quantities. We tried both veg and non-veg food and we're satisfied with quality and quantity. They also accept zomato gold which is like cherry on the cake.

Ordered Pani Puri and Paneer Tikka, bit disappointed by Pani Puri as the puris are few vis-a-vis what I paid though I can't deny the fact they were toothsome, two varieties of water and adequate amount of matar and crispy puris makes you want more and more.<br/><br/>Paneer Tikka was toooo darn good probably the best paneer tikka I've tried in town. I am a zomato gold member, and i had a complement dish unlocked via zomato, the waiter said , it is not applicable to this outlet , it is only applicable in hazratganj outlet. Ok fine. And then the waiter was so pursuasive for tip after we finished, that i didnot like. It should be our willingness for tip and not to be asked for.

This place is conveniently located on the busy street of hazratganj which serves some outstanding delicacies of Lucknow. It's a charming little restaurant, peaceful with a pretty decent ambience. Royal Cafe at Shanajaf Road is one of the good restaurants in Lucknow. The quality of the food is good. However the prices are on the higher side.

We visited this most glamour place for its basket chaat which was honestly really good. We also ordered galouti kabab and chicken and keema naan. We had dahi vada too. Each and every food item on his list is highly recommended. Only drawback is the price. It's expensive for a town like Lucknow which is otherview very reasonable.

One of the best in Lucknow. Been eating here since school days. You'll find most of the people standing right outside the restaurant, waiting for their basket chaat. But apart from the chaat, I'd highly recommend-<br/>Butter chicken, Afghani chicken and their Chicken biriyani. The manchurian served is good too. They've changed a lot over the years. And whatecer was wasn't cold.<br/>They need to be a little professional in terms of staff.<br/>And the lounge can definitely needs a makeover.<br/>The beverages - alcoholic were more expensive the most places which was a dissapointment.<br/>But no complaints with the food and quantity.

This is an amazing mouth watering full of butter pao bhaji. The best part of this is that they use loads of veggies . Pao are perfectly grilled In butter. Garnishing done by coriander and paneer give it a perfect look

I went to Royal Cafe yesterday which is next to Colours . I ordered veg 65 and veg clear soup. Veg 65 served to me was same as Veg Manchurian. When I called the head and asked about it , he told me that in veg 65 they serve - vegetable minced balls, tossed in sauces with melon seeds which was exactly Veg Machurian. So through Zomato I want to inform that if you can pass this info to Royal Cafe Members then that dish can be revised and people won’t be fooled.

Quantity was enough for two.<br/><br/>The cafe has a fine dine in. Service is prompt and the staff is professional. Ambience is also nice.<br/>I have tried their Chicken Steak Sizzlers, Pav Bhaji, Garlic Bread and Pasta; for the price the quantity was much so I didn't find the pricing to be high.<br/>Place is good but it's definitely overhyped.

It was a weekend when we planned to go out for dinner, and the place we chose was the famous royal cafe, We ordered butter chicken with butter naan and before that at the starters chicken tikka, the chicken tikka was juicy, the butter chicken had a very good taste, and the butter naan was soft dipped with butter.

Royal cafe heard a lot about it famous for its baslet chaat.......so i Tried their basket chaat which was beautifull lookwise ,was fully loaded but taste was average , even tired it's aloo chat ,fries, Papdii chat which was yummy 😀😀.....

They say they make world famous basket chat. I thought I would surely try it out. This basket chat has loads of stuff in it. Laccha Basket filled with curd, tikki, papdi, chatni and few other things. But it just tastes like a normal chat. But when you pay for it, prices do make it world famous. It costed Rs250 if you sit in restaurant and have it. In Delhi, you will get this or raj kachori at bikaner wala at much lesser price.<br/>For 2 coffees and one chat, we paid Rs 480. So I felt the place is over hyped and over priced too. If you really want to visit, although it is not that great, you can eat it outside, instead of sitting in their restaurant. Surely, prices would be lesser for this 'less' basket chat.

Went to lucknow after 25 years and fell in love with the chaat at this place.. The टोकरी chaat which लखनऊ इस famous for was very different and heavy.. The crispy potato basket was filled with all sorts of things like chole and chutneys and dahi vada etc.. Tasted really nice though.. The best chaat was the matar की chaat with नींबू and masala etc i loved it the most.. The rest of the chaats were great too the papdi chaat the dahi पूरी chaat the पाव bhaji were really nice. The पाव bhaji here is very different from what we get in delhi or mumbai. It had a great flavour of garlic. And was nice. We ordered the pasta and all I can say that it wasn't bad comdisering I ordered a pasta in a place known for other things than Italian. Great place would love to go back again Cheers

When in Lucknow, a visit to royal cafe is a must. Royal cafe is the place who introduced basket chaat concept in lucknow. They have fine dine area and street style food outside as well. I remember visiting royal cafe since i was a kid.<br/>Mr. Hardayal maurya is the face behind those lip smacking chaats. He will always welcome you with a great smile and zeal. Try royal sky basket chaat, different flavoured gol gappas, dahi bhalla for sure. You gonna fall in love for sure.

Came here with friends to enjoy their famous chaat. And wasn't disappointed at all. Tried the papdi chaat and aloo tikki and like all the Royal Cafes, the taste was good. Just try if you are around the area.

I found this place best for having a quiet meal with family although the price is a bit over in some of the selected dishes but overall food is amazing here

I tried some of the options like Basket chaat and Dahi batasha. Basket chaat was heavy and easily can be shared by more than one person. Dahi batasha were really delicious and a must try.

Ordered paneer tikka. It was awesome. Feels like eating tikka of Barbeque style...With smoky flavour in d tikka. It was good experience. Nice..

The non veg snakes are just the way to go. They serve quite a variety of items all having unique taste. Loved the boneless fish and Chicken malai tikka.

One of its kind was like a second home , relative was the manager and a friend of mine had all his events organised there . the place is huge and serves foreigners very often banquet area is upstairs and seems even bigger so butter chicken and pani puri are must have and also the chinese . 🔥
