Rahul Anand
Situated at lalbag near Novelty ,Good place for chaat items, their USP is aloo tikki so I also ordered the same, crispy tikki served with fresh yogurt and spices, perfect, Place can be crowded during evening but their service is fast.

Not a good place for people of NCR to eat gol gappe Can Try Aloo Tikki - way too crispy but oily
Khushboo Saboo
The Aloo tikki and Matar chat is amazing, you’ll never have had anything better! The give option to have with curd or lemon spices - i tried both and both were amazing!! Must try
somil malhotra
My god what amazing taste!! Just had aloo tikki, which was super crispy, and dahi bade, which were heavenly!! The taste is top-notch and probably the best you will find in lucknow!! The taste justifies the huge crowd outside at any time!!

The most dil daar chaat waley! :P We visited Jain chaat centre, realised you can go directly to the counter and pick up your choice of chaat, no token no pre payment required. But, coming to the chaat - it was delicious, loaded with fresh dahi, it was crunchy and a perfect 10/10, we also had dahi wade they were greattt as well. Surely visit them.

Terrific place located just behind the very famous Sharmaji ki Chai. It operates only I the evening and is mostly crowded. People flock here for their Alu Pattice chat n mutter pattice chat, Dahi bada and Pani puris. Pricing is moderate and quantity is sufficient. Tried almost all Items on the menu served here and everything was super. Full marks to the chat here and should definitely give a try if in this area. Aloo Pattice dahi chat was my favourite though.
Roqayya
We went for evening chat and got neembu matar, alloo tikka with chatni, and pani batasha. The best among all was neembu matar, crispy and delicious, then alloo tikka. I wasnt too inpresses with batasha as I have had better. Must try neembu matar. I am giving less for atmosphere because it looked chaotic and unclean. However, suggest to visit once in life.

Located near very famous 'Sharma ji ki Chai', this shop serves best aaloo tikki nearby (well according to me atleast). The crisp is apt, the chutneys and dahi is in good amount (which can be further added), and the taste is best. Although, if you like jal jeera water, then you may enjoy their pani batashe/gol gappe/pani puri/ puchka as it is clearly written. I'm not a fan of jal jeera water when it comes to pani batashe. Aaloo tikki the the usp though! Pricing is thrifty.

Earlier they used to have their shop opposite to the novelty theatre in the verandah. Now they have a proper shop nearby the old place. Their taste is unique. And don't miss their paani k batashe. Staff is cordial and taste great. Must try.
KAUSHAL BRIJWAL
Best dahi chaat I ever had. I really liked the taste.
ALI RIZVI
One of the best chaat place in Lucknow. Serves their delicacies made in desi ghee, with a polite attitude. Their aloo tikki and matar chaat are at power with the Royal Cafe’s and their paani ke batashe are sure shots to have. The cherry on top is their papri chaat, a must have at the end of the rondeau.
Sk Khare
No doubt that all the products such as Matar (yellow peas) Pani Poori, Dahi vada are very very tasty. You will love to visit once again because of good rich taste of all items. Why I have given four star against the atmosphere because they have very small place and sometimes it looks very crowded outside as well as inside because they don't have any sitting arrangements. It would be better if they provide cap and dress to their staff. Foodstuff is served in plates made of leaves. There is no parking but you can park the vehicle in front of the shop on main road nearby Municipal corporation underground paid parking area.

saba qadri
The best pani ke batashe in town. Neither too spicy nor too sour, just the perfect combination. The delicious tikki and dahi bara are also great.
Mridul Garg
Good taste. One of the best in the city. Too crowded and mismanaged order system. They should give tokens and hand out orders on first come first serve basis, but they don't do that.
Mohd Jamshed
I love this place beacause it just gives an amazing taste in Dahi vada and Panipuri. I think it's all service are very good. But crowded place and it's have limited space in shop but I am loving Dahivada of this place.
Rajeev
Prime location is the only reason while it is running so good else nothing in this place is catching or to give visit, and prices are also one reason.
Maidan Singh
On my recent visit to Lucknow I visited Jain Chat ,The place is very small and if you do not know the exact location you might miss the place ,there is no place for parking so you will have to park somewhere else or will have to take public transport to reach there .
I had Gol Gappas and Tikki ,
It was very different from the Tikki we have in Delhi or western UP .
Tikki was fresh and hot ,not very spicy and was very tasty .
Gol Gappa's were great too . Excellent place for chat lovers .
Sakshi
Best chat corner in Lucknow. I tried dahi tikki chat , baatasha , dahi baatasha , matar , dahi matar....all the food items were just amazing and mouth watering. The food is at reasonable rates and can be affordable by everyone. So must try chat from this place whenever you visit Lucknow.
Riddhi Agarwal
It was late at night at we craved for dahi bades, jain chat house has always been famous for this delicacy and they abide by there early taste still.
The vadas were soft and fluffy, balance of flavors was perfect. It's a must visit place!
Ritika Kalra
Loved the whole experience. They’re amazing at what they do. All chat is super cheat and yummy. Different than what we get here in Delhi and a must try in my opinion. You’ll love it. Do try.
The Food Spy
Jain Chaat is the vintage Chaat shop located at lalbagh opposite novelty cinema. The quality of the product is really consistent and taste too. The panipuri is really excellent.
S M Halim
Nice place for chat lovers of Lucknow. I have been there and Aloo tikki is very crispy , one of the best tikki I have tasted. Place is neat and clean, worth visiting.
Sakshi Shandilya
Jain chaat ... Yumm is the word .. One more is the second word .. after u eat its chaat's .. Everything u know .. Everything u eat is actually so tasty.
I love it n simply recommended everyone to visit it once.. and then u'll remember me always 😀

Smritikw94
Pure food or can say Desi food .
U call it pani-puri or batashe or by any name u csay it's the taste of this shop that's satys int he mouth. It's delicious .
The Chaat here is also yumm. It's full of flavours. N if u get the items through they provide all types of chatni along with dhai.
Devang
One of the best Chaat corners in town. A budget friendly place. Their Chaat rates are Rs. 45/plate and the Paani poori rates are Rs.15/plate. The taste of the chat is amazing, though they don't use onions in their food items yet you will find a different taste in their food. So the next time if you plan to go for a street food stroll then you must surely give a visit to this place.
Deeps Seth
Every thing is Very tasty and good gol gappe but i want more heeng in pani batasha are my favrite only mattar i think needs improvement that's it.
ANSHIKA GARG
This famous chat wala in Lucknow offers the best Papdi Chat with mouth watering and crispy Pani ke Batashe. One of the oldest in town, it's dahi ke batashe and matar are worth a try. The tikki is also great. A small and sufficient in itself chat shop !!
Varsha Srivastava
Jain chat. This is a small shop located there at lalbagh which serves the crispiest chaat... So if you're nearby lalbagh don't miss this... Try their pani ke batashe too ❤ you'll love them..
Aryan Avinash
Famous for its servings in evenings, its a must visit for chaat-lovers. Start with slurpy paani-bataasha. Then have half patta each of Aloo tikki, Dahi vada and Matar. Also taste one or two dahi chatni batasha..
Gaurav Chawla
a nice little chaat shop in lalbagh area close to the sharma ji chai wale....limited items on the menu..the matar chaat was quite nice...so was the papdi chaat without the dahi...tastes are very unique...unlike what you get in delhi...
Kahkashan Moheet
They serve chaat in lalbagh.... they prepare crispiest chaat in the town ... so if u r a fan of crispy chaat then you must visit Jain chaat but you can’t get onions there ....but taste is really good ... they have small gallery area to sit for 3-4 people ...
Abinash Singh
Best chaat corner. You will not find many items in the list of dishes but whatever you will find you will definitely love them all. chaat, dahi vada, tikki etc. The spot is always crowded
Mursil Khan
Expectations were way too high, honestly. But nonetheless they serve some pretty amazing Chaat. Not too spicy, not too much masala for the taste, lots of dahi and some quality aloo tikki make up the super famous chat from this place. Decent price, 40 for a plate, considering how famous and, dare I say it, hygienic the place is, it's justified.

Dahi bhalla and batashe, not as good as the chat though.

No place to sit, barely any place to stand on a crowded evening, it is better to get it packed and eat wherever you want.
Surabhi Gupta
Tried the dahi bade of the place. The big banner "thandha dahi bada uplabadh h" attracted me to try it. Taking dahi bada was a big task due to the rush but still any how we finally had a plate in our hand.
After having dahi bada I was disappointed. Firstly, it was not too cold and secondly, the taste was just average, nothing extra ordinary that can force me to visit it again and again and thirdly, the curd was a bit soar.

Will hope that the management will take the drawbacks in consideration.
Deepika Jain
I want to know that does the shop opens today ( 15 August ) .I simply love the chat and I have come down from gurgaon .please someone respond
Paarth Asthana
It is one of the best chat house in Lucknow.
They are famous for batashe, aloo tikki, dahi vada, matar etc., all available at a very reasonable price.
This is a typical street food joint. The place is packed with people during evenings.
While shopping through hazratganj, one can surely visit here.
Anubhav Tiwari
This place is near novelty cinema. Thus is very near to Sharma tea stall.Tikki is crispy n tasty.dahi bhalle are also equally good.they maintained hygiene.Sitting space is there.srevice is good.overall good experience!!
Gurpreet Singh Virdi
Visited this place many times. I always try there matar with white curd with red sweet chutney with some lemon juice nd spices and it was just awesome, i had try chappan bhog's matar also but he's d king. Aloo tikki is good nothing special about it.
Raghavan Khunteta
Best place to have chat in lucknow
Location is good
As well as food too
I personally recommend this place for the people who is fond of street food
Specially indian street food such as golgappe papri chat and tikki
Fast service.
Besides Kebabs and Biryani, the other thing that Lucknow is well knows for is Chaat
(typical Indian roadside savoury snacks).

Located just opposite my house, Jain Chat Bhandar has suddenly become a hallmark food outlet in Lucknow in the pst decade. Have been hogging here since kid when this was situated on the corner towards the Novelty Cinema hall.

What was relished :
▪️Pani Puris or fondly called as Pani batashe in Lucknow : Had with both the types of water.
▪️Tikki Chaat : Following a boatload of spicy pani puris, i hogged the famous aloo tikkis smothered in cold dahi and other assorted delicacies washed down with Lassi.

There were six things on the tiny handwritten menu and everything was sampled!

My recommendations : Pretty much everything, especially the super cheap and delicious Pani batashe.

Cost for 2 : A Chaat meal for 2 should cost you around 200 – 250 bucks.
Nikhil Bhatnagar
Landed in LKO in the evening of the investor summit and first order of business was to finalise dinner plan at this place. Great selection and not pretentious. Just crips aaloo tikkis and khastaa matar. Golgappe ka paani is also great.
Aman Bhonsle
Outstanding Aloo tikki chat. The balance of flavours was unreal. The aloo was crisp & savoury & balanced beautifully with the sweet dahi and crispies layered on top. An absolute thing of beauty! Best to have your plate of chat standing around since it’s a pretty narrow shop. You’ll be surrounded by some run down car parts & accessories shops.

amazing chaats.. flavourful, fresh and authentic items on the menu.. consistent in taste.. absolute value for money and a must visit for everyone..
Virat Agarwal
Not being to this place if I am in Lucknow is something that can hurt my soul .Brilliant in every aspect . Exceptional food .The service is so quick , it leaves me in awe everytime . The aloo tikki is to die for . The gol gappe are exceptional and the environment just makes it all feel elevating
Asterix1207
Must visit. Chats are amazing and true value for money. Batashe were fresh and must try, dahi aloo tikki chat were also good. Hygienic and fresh food.
Joy Sha
It's a old outlet but not the oldest chaat shop in the vicinity. Now they have taken a shop whereas they used to put a stall in front of novelty cinema. The items are good specially golgappe. I personally prefer there khasta aloo matar chaat. Enjoy I prefer over Shukla chaat which is also nearby.
Çhirayu Agarwal
One of the best place in Lucknow for chaat which does not needs any introduction.. When ever u visit this place firstly the crowd for batasha this place has nd the tikki nd dahi batasha is mouth watering..
Neeti Malik
A very popular joint in Lucknow. Needs no introduction. Well known amongst all age groups from kids to elders. Their chaat is simply delicious. Made in pure desi ghee. The quality of the ingredients is very good. Food is fresh and well prepared. Proper moderation of spices is there in the food. Since its not very spicy even kids enjoy the chaat. The aloo tikki is a hit. Extremely crispy. My personal favourite is the aloo tikki & the dahi chutney gol gappe. The food is light on the pallete unlike other chaat joints. Cheers to the team of Jain Chaat for constantly maintaining the quality and taste of their food over the years.
Vaibhav Arora
This place needs no introduction going here as kid for pani puri and love it ! The service is super quick and the food is super yum :) it's one place I recommend when anyone visits lucknow!
Tarannum Manjul
My favourite place to enjoy chaat if I am in the vicinity. Jain Chat has been here since a long long time and the chatori me cannot miss it when i have chaat pangs. For me, the papdi chaat and the dahi batashe are the winners. They serve the best papdi chaat in Lucknow. The papdi is rightly crisp, the chutney awesome and the toppings just perfect. I hate it when the papdi turns too soggy with the toppings but at Jain, this is not the case. It still remains crispy which is awesome. The dahi chatni ke batashe (golguppas filled with white boiled peas, chutney and curd) is also good. I like it that the right amount of chutney and dahi is filled carefully in each piece so that it doesn't break while you are picking the batasha.
A chaat treat for two is less than INR 100.... So what else do you want... Check it out for sure.
Sahastranshu Srivastava
The chat here tastes pretty good I should say...
But it's not like something very unique or extraordinary...
I have had tikki and matar which I would prefer any day above these...
But don't misunderstand...Jain Chat serves really tasty chat...
We were here for some light snack but decided to try out as many items as we could..
First we ate Pani Batashe...they were really good...the matar filling was very adequate...and taste was ounchy...as preferred by all..
Then we had Matar chat as well as Tikki chat...bhot tasted really good...the balance between sweetness and saltiness is admirable...
Lastly we had Dahi batashe...and again..they tasted really good with the correct balance of taste...
Overall, Jain chat holds up its name for serving delicious Indian Street food that is chat..
But I could'nt help but notice that it is still an overrated place...!
Ravi Kumar Tolani
One of the most famous spots for chat in Lucknow. This place has grown from being a footpath and on-a-table shop to the current outlet they have.
Their pani puri contains pani made of pure jaljeera which tastes unlike pani puris of other places, but are nice of u like jaljeera. Tikkis, Matar, Dahi vadas are very good. Must try.
GladToBeGlutton
Been here thrice and if you are s chat lover then must visit Jain Chat- I had matar, aloo Tikki, pani batasha & Dahi batasha these all 4 were good 👍🏻 very crowded place it's obvious people love this place 😊 good food & quick service
Atraiya
Pani k batashe with jaljeera pani is fine.
Matar with neembu n green chutney combo is awesome.
Tiki is crispy n wonderful with dahi n chutney.
Dahi chutney batashe is must try.
N pls remember to ask for extra dahi n chutney while ordering a take away because of some reasons they are very kanzoos for dahi n chutney.
Sarvagya Agarwal
If you want the best ' matar' in town ,this place is the one to visit. From variety of chat, like batashe, paapdi chat, dahi bade, alloo ki tikki, matar etc all the snacks provided here are mouth watering and are an epitome of taste. Thus, promoting the culture and snacks of lucknow, india. The part they need to work on is hygyine, the people who are serving must wear gloves.
Overall this place is a heaven for chat lovers.
Altamash Aslam
A shop which has no branding at all. Thanks to google that I was able to locate this place. THis is a small chaat eatery which serves a lot of varities of chaat. From tikkis, to dahi baras to matar to golgappes. THe matar chaat is fresh and hot and tastes best when it is hot. The dab of lemon on top of it makes it tangy and delicious to another level. The dahi golgappes are really good and the spice that they sprinkle on top of it is just magical. A must visit place for chaat lovers.
Shiladitya Basu Ray
Love chats ! Period! So when a friend mentioned this place as a place of pilgrimage for real foodies, I decided to travel from Gomtinagar for an experience. It was worth it! Excellent dahi vada, alu tikki and paapri chat! It was dinner on my last night in city last time I visited in June 2015 and was a really fulfilling experience.
Shivani Goyal
Best batashe...best matar..... visitor since
childhood😊💜💜💜 love being here...
Dahi bhallla i just omg....:) will visit soon 💜💜💜💜💜
Come On,dont Be Shy
Amazing place to have aloo tikki, batashe, dahi balla. This place is too crowded,so better go with good amount of time in hand.
I think the rating talks in itself.
Divyansh Awasthi
Chat couldn’t have gotten simpler: just 6 items on the menu, of which 5 are priced the same. Inflation has caught up with Jain Chat as well and the prices are Rs 5 higher than on the menu here on Zomato (as of published date).

However, the concept of chat is not lost in the simplicity. An evening – whether hot or cold – out with friends and family, and not desirous of digging into our staple noodles or naan. Or, heading home to an angry spouse who happens to love chat. Or, don’t have enough green in your pocket but still want bang for the buck you have.

Jain Chat, nestled close to the Lalbagh circle, and overlooking the as of now under construction Novelty Lalbagh, helps you with simple dishes which have not forgotten to be tasteful. Adjustable to taste – you can have your matar spicy and tangy or curdy and sweet – a decision to drop in is a forgone conclusion. And mind you, on most days, it is faster than your favourite fast food service: a quarter of an hour and ~Rs 300 later, you’ll have a happy family of four heading towards your next stop.

And the next time you decide to drop in, be rest assured that your spouse would be more than willing to accompany you – angry or not – for 15 minutes of pocket-friendly indulgence.
Abhinav Verma
So many good reviews for this old joint but when tasted it's usp i.e. chaat ( nimbu chatni ) ; I found it good but not the best and bataashe was strictly average..may be another visit will change my perception !
Suggestion→→→ people who reside in Aliganj/near Gulacheen temple or near Aliganj ; there is a thela in front of the temple gate (opposite side); ask for pandit ji chaat waale and just try his chaat...u will not be disappointed :)
Eatlo
What if TCT told you that only the aroma at this place will make your heart skip a beat, and you will find your belly making space for everything that the short menu has to offer. Yes, their chaat is that magical. The crowds will only prove this place’s popularity further. Deemed as the best chaat shop in Lucknow, this place has a lot going for it — it’s dirt cheap, delicious, Jain food. You simply don’t get this combination often, do you?
Mohit
Jain Chaat is an old shop which is housed in the same building which is home to the legendary but a little overrated Sharma Ki Chai. It is a success story of a person who started his business on a cart and graduated to a proper shop but in the process, somehow still managed to retain the humbleness and friendly nature which is loved by all the customers who flock here!

The interiors are basic, nothing to write about. There is a small bench to sit or you can enjoy the delicacies whilst standing outside in the covered pavement area, which is what most of the customers do as the rush can sometimes be too much, especially on weekends.

The shop opens in the evening. The Aloo Tikkis served here are delicious to say the least. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cold and creamy yoghurt coupled with mild spices acts like an icing on the cake. There are so many places in Lucknow serving delicious Chaats that I'm starting to lose count. It is one dish this city can never go wrong with.

I am not a fan of the Matar Chaat though so didn't try it here as well. But people like it.

Overall, one of the best places in the Hazratganj/Lalbagh area to gorge on some delicious North Indian Chaats without burning a hole in your pocket.
Umang Khurana
Exceptional chaat, matar (Lucknow speciality) and tikki. Am not otherwise a fab of matar, but these guys somehow do a brilliant job of it. Try everything they make, including, as they call then dahi batashe :)

Located in Lalbagh market, the years of the Raj pass by as you dig in the local chaat that makes you want to overeat every time.
Aman Saxena
This Place serves the best Matar Chaat. Its So delicious that u will crave for more. It is near Sharma Tea Corner and is easy to find.
They serve the best Chaat and Dahi Bade.
Arpit Puri
They serve really a phenomenal chat... though i dont like tikki vry much.. but here it ws just awes0me .. nd the dahi bada ... it ws also superb... awesome nd quick service to0...
Debroto Roy
My dad's favourite chaat outlet in the city. I remember us having frequent arguments tossing up between Jain and Shukla. Both legendary outlets... my dad swore by the jain chaat house. Brilliant stuff... Amazes me with the consistency that this outlet has served chaat over the past 3-4 decades. Hats off
Aparna
Being a great fan of tikki, batasha, I never miss this place during my visit to city of nawabs. Every item they offer is delicious. My most favourite is pani Natasha and aloo tikki..
Yash Rastogi
If ur tastebud prefer tasty chaat this is a corner for u. Nice fried aloo tikki with sweet fresh dahi , papdi chaat superb, paani k bataashe, all things very good at taste. Lucknow aae aur Lucknow Ki chaat na khai to kya khaya.
Aditi Amte Patil
Yummy dahi batashe, jaljeera batashe and muttér tikki.do try the different varieties. Mostly served with dahi, I preferred the plain tikki without dahi too
Prashant Ahuja
Best golgappas in Lucknow , variety of other chaat is also available like aloo tikki , and matar. Even papdi chaat and dahibhalla , served with spices and always a smile on the face :)
Ankit Kushwaha
Simple, fresh and tasty. Tried aloo tikki and papdi chat, both good. Could do with some chopped onions but given that this is a Jain establishment I doubt it would happen. It is located opposite Wahid Biryani in Lalbagh.
Ankit Singh
Hygienic and best Chaat you'll ever have. From paani ke batashe to aloo tikki, from chaat papdi to safed matar.....expect awesome taste in whatever you have here ! 👌

I've tasted chaat of many cities but no city can beat the chaat of Lucknow, though only if you'd eat it at the right place.. And yes, this is the best chaat shop in the town.
-Do taste their dahi chatni ke batashey.
-in Lucknow we call batashey to what rest of the India would call gol gappey, pani puri or fuchkey.
Prateek Gupta
went there and after eating hot and crispy chat was feeling out of the world...a quick snack with lots of taste...nd dahi was delicious..their smell was atrracting me towards them...
Rachita Rasiwasia
Awesome chats! Loved everything we tried here. Loved dahi chutney ke batashe the most! A must visit place when in this part of the city. Although the surroundings are bit dirty but still the food is cooked in a clean manner. Recommended for chaat lovers.
Anchal Malik
Ahhh great place for chat lovers.

Mouth watering golgappas... Relishing dahi badas and great matarrrr....

One of my favourite place to eat chat..
Sidhant Ray
Suggested by a friend, this outlet truly reflects the unique street food culture of Lucknow. Yeah, they offer the usual favorites- matar, aloo tikki, dahi and jaljeera bataashey and dahi vada but they have a taste quite unique to this part of India. Just the 5 items on their menu but they do it well. In fact like no other. The never ending queues are a testimony to this fact.
Special mention to the nimbu matar which was completely new to me. A good, happy family time is guaranteed.
Bhupesh Jatiani
One of the oldest and nicest spots to be for yummy street chat food.

I have been here unlimited times. But today felt to write an review.

Today was my mom's b'day and we went here to quench our evening chat cravings.

We had pani batasha And matar tikki as we call it in Lucknow. Everything was yummy as it was cooked in pure ghee.

Strongly recommend.
Astha Dhall
The taste is still as good as it was years ago. It actually preserves Lucknow's delicacy. The quality is consistent & is always the first choice whenever I have to try the chat.
Abhinav
Went to this place upon recommendations from a few friends. Their aaloo tikki chaat was amazing however I did not like their pani puri (my friends have a different opinion though!) . Papdi chaat too was average.
Anushka Singh
Jain chat is a must visit for people who love eating chaats. Its also quite cheap and the chaat served is also simple but superb. Other fast foods served here are also nice.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE

Favourite place to eat chat in Lucknow. Regular visit at least once a month

This is definately the best chaat you will ever have. It is a must for all chaat lovers in town. Aloo chaat is the best and so are the gol gappas. Tickle your taste buds with the finest.
Satyam Vij
Serving since long now jain chat is very consistant about their quality and taste.
Good gol gappas very nice aloo chat and matar.
The best part about their chat is that it is not very heavy as compared to ithers in city.one should also try their papdi chaat, dahi bada and dahi chatni k batashe.
Aakriti Kumar
Jain chat is probably one of the best that i hav had till now...
Faiz
Had their Delicious and Filling 'Aalu-tikki' some time back.

100/100 Marks for Taste, Service & Hygiene.
