Review Royal Cafe - Lucknow

I must say their ambiance is just rocking. We go their for their signature busket chat. First of all the presentation is very refreshing and colourful. There is a blast of flavours in the mouth, in every bite there is a unique flavour that's pleased your mouth. Absolutely in love with it.. Highly recommended.

I visited here on 26th Nov 2023. I had Basket Chat, Taste was good and also their Hajmola. The atmosphere was good here and people were excited to meet the Chaat kind and have their favourite dishes. Only thing which I feel is the price is on a little higher side.

This is truly a royal restaurant. The restaurant is located in a prime area. All chats are located at the entrance of the restaurant which are really appetizing. The restaurant has two floors and both the floor have a great ambience. The food is really amazing. We went for dinner and tried some vegetarian options. The spinach soup had small paneer and carrot bits which added to the taste of the soup. The vegetarian assorted kebab platter had all the kebabs they prepare and came in a very good presentation. The tandoori breads were extremely fresh and had a good taste. They are worth trying. They add food color to paneer butter masala to bring out that bright orange-red color, but the taste and consistency was on spot. The veg kofta gravy was good and mildly spicy as requested. Overall the food was a solid 9/10. The service was also on spot as they suggest which one to try and they serve all food on your plate as well. They were very courteous. But they do expect some tips at the end when you are paying. Having said all these, I would recommend this restaurant only if you are ready to pay high cost. They use their image that many celebrities come to Royal Cafe.

Food was ok, not bad in taste and not very great to remember. I am a fan of hot and spicy foods and perhaps both of them are missing in entire Lucknow. Service was also fine, not much waiting.

The Basket Chat is very popular, and indeed it is good. But the restaurant staff inside was quite hostile. The prices are a little high, so go with a full pocket.

Wonderful eat joint bang at the start of MG road , Hazrat ganj. It's so close to the metro station . For people with a gastronomic sense and a busy tongue, this is the place to be. On tha patio and pavement is the chat corner and sit leat done in is there next. The food is great. The taste typical avadhi. The cleanliness and hygiene praiseworthy. The attitude, attentiveness and behaviour of the stewards very polite and disarming. The Indian menu is full of fragrant, aroma filled delights. The kebabs are sumptuous . The mutton prep are really canvassed for bt the staff and are good. Must visit while in Lucknow

It was a good experience, The food was delicious and tasty and the portions were very nice. Lemon Coriander soup was very tasty and the Paneer Chilli was good but similarly very oily, that could be avoidable. Overall it was a good experience.

Best place to visit in lucknow If your are foodie...very good staff there services are really good. And it was famous for there chat...I really like to recommend to every body to try there chat vairety...also it was located in very nice place which is called hazaratganj...very good place to shopping and hangout purpose...but,the royal Cafe taste is very good..you can visit with your friends and family...sometime they start changing there food vairety as per Indian festival...like in Navratri they also offer you to fasting food, so it was really good to all people in fasting.

We tried papdi chaat and basket chaat here and I liked papdi chaat very much coz it was crispy and with a lot of curd and chilli chutney.. but have mixed opinion about basket chaat. For Street food options, this place is right choice, a bit more hygienic and spacious . Famous in Lucknow for it's chaat options, always jam packed.

Authentic taste... The taste of veg handi biryani was great.. you can feel the aroma when they serve it... We also had veg clear soup which was also good in taste. They have numbers of authentic dishes in veg as well as in non-veg.

A hyped place for having a chatt and that is also their world-famous basket chat. This basket is made from some besan material and chatt is placed right inside it. Quite an expensive one with one basket worth Rs 250. Only self-service is there and one may have to stand right on the footpath. A one-time recommended place for having one basket chatt.

I ordered Basket chaat from Royal Cafe as that was their speciality. The packaging was good and the chaat consisted of all different chaats put together in one basket. While all the ingredients inside the basket were good the basket itself was a bit oily. It was average in taste.

I'm not a fan of dining outside a lot....I occasionally enjoy eating comfortably in my PJ's while sitting in front of my laptop and so when I'm in mood of a wholesome meal, Royal Cafe's non veg thali is something that has everything for your mood.<br/>It's wholesome in its own....a complete meal.<br/>Although when ordered a single dish alone its quantity vs the price is something not satisfactory.<br/>The taste is great....they could work a little bit on the biryani...the rest is fine.<br/>Also I can speak for non veg food only as I haven't had veg food from this place in a very long time.

Spring roll sauce is not so good it just tomatoes sauce .. it should be like soup 😋 with tomato sauce

This place is a must visit if you're in Hazratganj. There's always a queue for the table but trust me it's worth it. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The food would literally bring water in your mouth. You have the try mutton galawati kabab or if you're a chicken lover, they have chicken galawati as well.

Ordered food for takeout from Royal Cafe though the food boxes are from Marksmen, I wonder Royal Cafe started doing marketing for Marksmen now..even they do not return back the extra money paid ... And the food is very bad, tasteless<br/>P.s. - can't even complaint because of lockdown

I think Royal cafe is one of the most famous places of Lucknow. Finally went their after it being recommended by a lot of people. Their basket chat is what's famous here. You should also try their paani puri and kulfis. I also had a faaluda. The food is decent, but what i really like is that you get to enjoy street food in a slightly more hygienic setup.

I went there expecting some authentic food and great taste but this place, service and hygiene was a let down. The food was nothing great. Tasted decent only. I ordered the recommended dishes after discussing with the server yet the food was just average.. for the name and location, the place can do much better. Given how crowded the place was, just hoping it was a one off experience for me

They did not accepted my zomato gold code.i told them u note it and mail it to zomato they will consider once net will connect..but they refused.

food taste was too good but mutton pieces was too small just because i used zomato gold. because the manger said that it depends on the size of the pieces , what my personal experience is if there is small pieces then the quantity will be more

People from Lucknow always talk about Basket chat of Royal Cafe, so on my visit I visited Royal Cafe to eat the famous Basket chat.<br/>But I was really disappointed, there is nothing special about the chat, all they are doing is putting all short of things which make no sense and ask you to pay Rs 200 for that.<br/>I couldn't finish it as it was too sweet full of sweet chutney.<br/>Only good part is that you get to sit in an air conditioned restaurant and eat.<br/>Overall below average food.<br/>

Crucify me if you will ....for I though their basket chaat was very normal.<br/><br/>I chose to sit inside the restaurant and hence paid a premium for the dish, which is ok as I chose to enjoy the lush interiors rather than sit in the common chaat area or stand to have my food.<br/><br/>The interiors I must admit has been very tastefully done and does command a premium. Visited this place coz of the famous basket Chaat but when ordered for basket Chaat and chana Rikki and few more items the person took the payment after that what he said was that few items were not available, and then we ordered a replacement that was aloo tikki lol then he gave full Allo tikki and when the manager said ki inki aadhi plate hai so then he took back that tikki and Meri basket Chaat Mai usko use Kar lia horrible experience, they are making such a bad name of there brand, I think the superior should take some action inorder to retain there Goodwill, will not definitely visit this outlet again, worst experience

Tried this place when I was on a tour in Lucknow last month. We tried their basket chat and it was amazing if you like chaat. It was very tasty and they were making it in hygienic conditions.

I was visiting royal cafe after a long time. As a Zomato gold member I did receive the one plus one on food and was really surprised when I was denied parcel of the left over food in the bowls.<br/>Food was no doubt delicious but an ugly conversation with the manager at the end could have been avoided.<br/>Also , would like to highlight the packaging...mushroom Manchurian and hakka noodles were just wrapped in silver foil and handed over to us. I think a restaurant chain with such high esteem in the market should surely look into it avoid unnecessary hassle to the customer.

The basket chaat was nice but quite a mix of many things. But the palak chaat was an insult to the poor vegetable. The palak is an afterthought, lost beneath a layer of dahi and sonth and then one more layer of fried besan! It's like a delivery vehicle for besan, dahi and sonth. Wish more respect was shown for the palak by baking it. I won't be surprised if they start a karela chaat as you can barely taste anything else

This is a classic joint in Hazratganj where you would get all kinds of North Indian fare at really reasonable prices. The ambiance is really good, the seating is really plush and comfortable and the cutleries used are really extravagant.
