Amazing taste of food, specially butter chicken & Shawarma Roll. Afgani mutton was okay & chicken saag was good. Naan is better then roti. Isse behtarin Shawarma Roll pure Lucknow me nahi milega, it's authentic. Cost bhi pocket friendly hai. We were three friends took starter and main course in Rs 920/-. I'll recommend to everyone must visit and take Shawarma Roll.

Best restaurant for non veg in lucknow, Prices are not too high.. Taste is amazing, if you are visiting must try chicken kalimirch and chicken and mutton saag.. But sitting is available for few people so come with extra time..

A good place for non-vegetarian peeps, shawarma is the best in the town you can say. And chicken saag is a must to try. But the place is too small it has limited tables (3 tables where 12 people can sit) Do note the shawarma shop is separate from the restaurant.

Daal me kaala is one of the economical restaurants providing non veg food near Hazratganj. I would rate this restaurant 9/10. Apart from non veg starters, there Samoli ( something like shwaarma) is one of my favourite thing. The salad and dip they provide with Samoli is very unique and tasty as well. Also their chicken kalimirch is very tasty.

Being a year old customer of chicken shawarma of this joint it was highly disappointing to receive a stale and foul smelling shawarma which was smelling rotten even before i took a bite. What was more appalling was the conduct of Mr. Arif over the phone who was adamant that my taste and smell faculties have failed me and it is impossible that their product can go bad. Good or bad just eat the food. Please don't try and reason out with MR. ARIF since he's just not capable to say the least.

It is one of my favorite place which serves authentic mughlai and awadhi cuisines at the nominal prices. The food is really really very yummy so I recommend you all if you are a non veg lover and wanna eat some mughlai cuisines. Hop in to this place once and I guarantee you will not regret. Situated at the Non-Veg hub of Lucknow City, this place is heaven for Non-Veg Lovers who want to try something different. I have heard much about this place so I went with my Cousin to try something of this place. I ordered for Shawarma and Chicken Afghani. It was one of the best Shawarma of the Lucknow city I have ever eaten. It was fully stuffed with chicken, vegetables and mayonnaise. Chicken Afghani was also very good in taste. Chicken was tender and soft and it tastes good with green chutney. Though the place is small and only two tables are there for sitting, yet this place is heaven for Non-Veg Lovers.. Feels like Nirvana achieved..!! 😂

So We are quiet a frequent/regular customer here, we come here all the way from Alambagh, just to have Shawarma Roll made by Chacha, he's so nice n polite, you can actually feel love in the roll. There's no sitting facility(take away), the other outlet is a proper restaurant in gomtinagar. About the roll, that is the perfect shawarma(authentic) as he adds potato fries, mayo, pickle, and a chutney with good amount of chicken chunks, roasted on the shawarma machine.. The Mayo is the star, super yum, a must try.❤️😋

I had best shawarma in Hyderabad. When I came back to Lko, i was looking for shawarma places, have tried al baike shawarma and hungry daniels and what not but i couldnt find the taste. But shawarma from daal mein kala is just the best, the same taste i had in Hyderabad. The best. Delicious. One must try this.

if u are a shawarma lover then this is the best place u could get that ... they have 2 varities .... one with a hot dog bread and the other in a paratha .. former is called “sumali” and the latter one is the typical “shawarma” .... even the preparation is mouth watering let alone the delicious rolls 👌🏼 no proper seating place though so take away is a better option

Daal Mein Kala never disappoints me. One of the best places to go for authentic Mughlai food. Try their mutton barra and chicken afghani. It will have you going back for more. Excellent value for money as it is a lot less pricey than far inferior establishments in the city. Also, their quality of food is very good. Highly recommended !

We ordered Chicken Saag, (which is their signature dish btw) but it was not available (as is most of the time), so we replaced it with butter chicken. But to our disappointment, it tasted nothing like butter chicken and was too tangy. 👎

Ordered butter chicken for parcel. Didn't expect that kind of stuff. Can't say about other dishes but that butter chicken just sucked. Horrible literally. Would suggest all of u to at least not try it.

A small joint with very little sitting space (max 6-8 pax) near dastarkhan ambience wise there is nothing there and what they lack in ambience they make up for it with there tasty food they have a few unique dishes which are not easily available like mutton saag , raan etc yesterday my order was mutton raan (btw you have to order raan 24 hrs before ) taste of raan was just amazing meat was so soft and grilled to perfection and super tasty full of spices it was worth the wait and next item was Kadhai chicken which was also amazing big juicy pieces of chicken and loads of gravy and full of flavours <br/>All the items are priced moderately not very heavy on pocket I will highly recommend this place .<br/>Here are a few dishes which I will recommend and I have tried them also like afghan chicken , raan , chicken kali mirch , chicken Kadhai , chicken/mutton saag .<br/>

Small little join in Lucknow’s famous dastarkhwan area. Food is good. Space is tight. Most people order from their cars. Biryani and Mutton saag are the ones to try.

Chicken kali mirch, Chicken saag, mutton burra are some of the items that are not available at any joint of the area. Its a small shop with a limited capacity of seating. Its best recommended to have your food packed from here and just try some of the items you will surely not regret it. Only once i had a major issue with the service. -1 for that.<br/>

As tourists in Lucknow, my husband and I landed up at Hazratgung in search of the big and famous restaurants. While asking for directions to Tunday, we were recommended this restaurant by a local. Warning-it’s a small place with seating for about 16 people only at a time. We were told we might not like the ambience, but the food would be to die for. And it turned out to be so right! I had the Afgani Chicken and my husband had the biryani rice. The chicken was delicious, well cooked, and very filling. The biryani rice was the most flavourful I’ve had till date. One word verdict: Fantastic <br/>I was in Lucknow for one year from 2012-2013, and living a forced bachelor life. This place used to serve the best Afghani chicken I have eaten across. This was the go to place for chakhna (read: afghani chicken). The only issue was that it used to get over by 8 so had to hurry. This used to be followed by kakori kebabs from Sakhawat. This happened 3 years ago (or was it 4?). I was on a visit to my hometown, Lucknow. It was one of those inebriated evenings. We had a few beers at Strokes (that is, sadly, closed now) and strolled down to the alleys behind tulsi looking for dinner. The name "daal mein kala" struck a chord and we took a table. I think it was a saturday and the restaurant was empty. We ordered tandoori chicken. It was absolutely delicious. We asked the owner for his recommendations for the main course and he ordered a chicken masala for us. It was the first time I had a chicken curry cooked in coconut oil in Lucknow. I was in a culinary heaven (if there's a place like that), dipping the soft and crunchy tandoori rotis into the glorious gravy and hogging it like a mad man. We chatted up the owner and he was quite the raconteur. Turns out, he is a graduate from IHM Pusa, no less. All in all, it was a memorable time spent with good people and good food.

I ordered chicken afghani and mutton barra; both the dishes were properly marinated and grilled which is an important part of grilled food. The staff is very helpful. The only drawback is the they don't have enough seating space. I am looking forward trying their other dishes on the menu.

Dal Mein Kala is a misnomer more so whatever is being served in this small outlet is transparent maintaining very good quality hygienic Mughlai Non Veg be it BIRYANI with good pieces of chicken and mutton in it, KORMA ,STEW, succulent SHAAMI KABAB'S. The owner himself is a hotel management chap who is keen to answer your queries, and what goes behind preparing and maintaining the mughlai delicacies every day. Korma and stew are a delight prepared meticulously to justify its sumptuous taste.<br/>Biryani is yet another feather in their cap because it takes 8-10 hours in its making that's why its aroma opens up your sense of olfaction reaching your nose ,and taste bud starts to activate even before it reaches your mouth.

This is a typical no nonsense affair takeaway. The food served by this place easily makes up for its dismal seating capabilities. The serving and price amount are very generous making it a food joint you can frequently visit despite being low on balance and still be assured of rich quality of food. The entire place is set up at one of the best streets for non-veg food . This place makes really good Chicken saag, I tried it out of curiosity and didn;t have really high hopes from it, but the chicken saag is probably one of the best food in the entire food lane, giving a tough competition to Dastarkhwan's Galawati Kebab. The Balance of spice is absolutely amazing. The chicken texture along with the gravy is commendable. If you love butter chicken then this is the place for you. I have'nt had better butter chicken anywhere in lucknow. Even their chicken afghani is quite good. Only problem with the place is their sitting capacity is quite low. Due to which many a times you wont find a place to sit. The Mecca of authentic mughlai cuisine, definitely a place worth a bite by non-veg lovers and even those who haven't tried authentic Mughlai food at all, here's one place which will make you fall in love with food that speaks of quality and hospitality. Notwithstanding the decor of silver and neon restaurants, here the good taste does the talking.. and trust me, you'll bite your fingers off.

Daal mein Kaala is one of the few places in town where quality counts over everything else. Unfortunately, its also one of the most under-rated places in town. I recommend it strongly to all food lovers esp. those fond of mughlai cuisine. Hats off to Mr. Arif Khan for introducing us to the very popular afghani chicken, the best I've ever had.

The worst place ever. <br/>The staff don't know how to treat their customers. <br/>The Rumali Roti was served cold and they refused to change it as well.<br/>

One of my all time favorite restaurants in town ..<br/>Yummy afghani chicken, delicate n delicious galawati (which for now are not really worth it), was once famous for its fried shami kababs (which they have discontinued now)<br/><br/>Mutton biryani is yumm, and there is no comparison for its out of this world saag chicken, (succulent, tender and full of flavours chicken in palak gravy) .....<br/><br/>The menu it is very quirkily designed and as their tag line goes "if you won't eat we both will starve" ...<br/><br/>As for the service part I call up to place the order to the owner Mr Arif and pick it up at my convenience.<br/><br/>Overall Review - 5.0<br/><br/>Ambience - 3.0/5.0<br/>Service - 4.0/5.0 <br/>Food - 4.5/5.0<br/>
