Review Sharma Ji Ki Chai - Lucknow

vikas sisodiya
This is my favourite place in Lucknow. I visited several times. It’s taste never gets old and is never enough for the people who are tea lovers. This is red tea with milk added separately. I recommend having tea with bun Makhan and a samosa. They have enough staff to server you on time and with excellent precision and taste. If you are in Lucknow and want to visit this place I would suggest going early in the morning or evening. The place is awesome and a must try when in Lucknow.

The place is awesome and a must try when in Lucknow. You have a range to cover and hence must be visited to have a “feel good” experience. Tea, Samosa, Bun Makkhan, Poha and more. Touch crowded and may have to wait, but truly worth it. Stand there and relish the taste. Experience the magic and awesomeness of the taste. Ideally would have rated 4, but +1 because of the experience. Take care of the parking when visiting as this is one thing that’s a bit tough to find. Miss it at your own risk…

This is my favourite place in Lucknow!! This was the second time I went to have 'Band Makhhan' with Tea!! The crowd tells everything, people get the order and go and eat inside their own car when the nearby park is full!!! The quality is not reduced, I feel it has improved. Scale can improve the quality!! :) Must Visit!

For people staying in Lucknow, this place does not need any introduction for them. This is my all time favourite place when I visit Lucknow. It’s taste never gets old and is never enough for the people who are tea lovers. I recommend having tea with bun Makhan and a samosa. Prices are quite reasonable and the taste can’t be expressed. I found this place busy during morning time 7-10 and evening 5-7. The tea is served in Khullar (cup made out of a pot material). Sharma is a must go place if one pays his/her visit to Lucknow.

A place with a great taste. Visited this place for the first time and it was a great experience. A must go place to have chai bun makkhan and gol samosa in the morning. Gol samosa tastes really different although it's just the shape but it really changes the taste in your mind. I went there in the morning and really enjoyed it. Kulhad tea ☕ is something which reminds me of the tea which i had in Banaras. Amazing experience!!! Follow Sparsh Musafir On YouTube & Instagram

This is a well known and highly crowded shop , filled with chai lovers. So during my recently visit to the city i got to explore this place. They serve best bun makkhan ,which is prepared inhouse . The butter is more like cream cheese . Chai is refreshing served hot in kulhad . Poha was also good it was soft and well seasoned. It hardly took us 5 minute to get our order. Service is quick Payment option cash and gpay available. We parked our car at sahara mallamd explored these lanes with the help of e-rikshaw to avoid the hussle of parking . Must try place if you visit lucknow

We tried the very famous Sharma Ji Ki Chai, the Kulhad Chai was priced at 30 and we also tried bun makhan at the same price. The tea is good and the quantity is also very good. The place is always buzzing with people.

The samosa was amazing , the poha wasn’t bad . Tea was sweet and milky ( if you like it that way ) . Gets very crowded but they manage to keep it moving and do not let people wait too long . A Lucknow institution - happy to have visited

A good place to have chai in Lucknow. It's an old place and have a big name in the Lucknow,UP . You will find tea and snacks like Bun-Makkhan(white butter) which is too good and samosas in round place which is different from the typical triangled one and tastes good the filling inside of alu is blended with good spices . The chai here is not made the traditional style that we all know , the chai is first boiled and the milk is boiled seperately and then in definite amount mixed directly in the Glass(both paper and khullad available). The owner is very nice you can talk to him and he make you feel like your relative .

Very crowded but has its own charm. Buns were really soft and good. Chai was okay. Definitely try once.

The name Sharma has become synonymous with samosas and chai, the samosas are round or better known as potli samosas, the filling is a winner. <br/>Bun maska with white butter is worth trying.<br/>Start your morning Lucknowi style.<br/>

Basically the shop doesn’t provides you proper food, but you can call it a perfect brunch or breakfast. It is exactly worth the amount spent on the eatable. I don’t think u can eat a better brunch other than the one provided by Sharma in the city.<br/>

Sharma tea stall is like a small round the corner tea shop which has become famous because of its addictive tea. You can have this tea with bun masks, their spherical samosas and matrix, all these things compliment the tea perfectly. <br/>Although this place has no place to sit and only bar tables to stand and eat, it is always full of people.<br/><br/>It is so famous that when my friends came to lucknow (my hometown) I just had to take them there.

Another place to visit for Tea lovers in Lucknow is Sharma Ji Ki Chai.. Quite famous for its one of a kind of samosa the Gol samosa which is obviously round in shape.. And is uber tasty.. The tea offcourse is real good and they serve a variety of flavours.. When in Lucknow do try >>Sharma Ji Ki Chai.. Place Lalbaugh...

When i was going back to delhi and i was on the way their saw this place which was jam packed . It was quite intresting as i'm a foodie . It was small outlet even then they take your order on table and bring it to you.  I really love the taste of butter bun . Bun was topped with small sweets cherries . When the taste of butter melt in mouth and mixed sweet <br/><br/>cherries  that taste was so great and it taste even better when bun dipped in tea this combination Specially loved by tea lovers . Nothing beats the famous Chai from Sharma Tea Stall in Lucknow. The Tea is damn addictive and you will just fall in love with it. Along with tea you can get Bun Makhan and Samosa both of which complement the Chai really well. This place is always crowded especially in Morning and evening times and everyone is enjoying Sharma Jee kee Chai.
Rahul
The tea quality has consistently worsened with time but now the place has turned absolutely nuts with the success going into their heads . Would love to see humility back in them if only it is possible.

A perfect place for early morning tea craving. It opens very early - 7 am, worth going this early. I tried kulhad chai, bun makhan and samosa. All were awesome. The service is quick and the food is good.<br/><br/>Food - 5/5<br/>Service - 5/5<br/>Ambience - 3/5<br/>Options - 4/5

Shiksha Chourasia
I visited Sharma ki chai during evening and the place was jam packed. Even though it was a small outlet they had servers who take your order at the table and bring the food. Tried their Kulhad chai, samosa and bun maska all of which were good in taste and worth going to the outlet. Will definitely visit again.

Firstly sorry for the late review for such an iconic place<br/>Finally after returning to my hometown<br/>Started with my blogging journey with the oldest chai point in town<br/>SHARMA JI KI CHAI<br/><br/>IT is in Hazratganj is  flocked by hundreds in the morning & evening hours. Even though the stall is 50 years old, it only serves 6 items so far! Its Kulhad chai, bun maska and round samosas have had many coming back. The store is now being run by the third generation and there are expansion plans in the making.
Spice It Up With Sam
Tried the three top sellers !! Chai, bun maska and gol samosa. Chai was brilliant, samosa good and bun maska quite average. Liked how they do it in a round shape but shape aside the filling was nicely spiced as well. Do try if you are in the vicinity. Its a legendary place and the crowd at any given time gives amole<br/>Proof of its popularity. If it was for me though, I shall fill myself with chaat at Shukla chaat house and then go for just the tea at Sharma jee.<br/><br/>Follow me on Instagram @SPICEITUPWITHSAM

We ordered samosa, malai bun and chai. The chai was good and better than most of the joints that we tried. Hot Samosa with Aloo filling was great!

I am told this place is legendary!<br/><br/>Chai, samosa, bun maska. Need I say more?

This place needs no introduction.<br/>Wonderful tasting chai<br/>With bunmakkhan.<br/>Always a favorite spot to hang by!

Finally I made it to this place the iconic #sharmajikichai Visited this Sunday at 11am. It was too crowded as some Tv or Ad shoot is going on.<br/>Ordered Butter Bun with Kulhad chai and a Samosa. Butter was freshly made. Samosa was not Triangular it was Round. Samosa was crispy and not at all Oily.<br/>The Highlight was Tea.

This place is a must visit if you're in a Lucknow. Chai in a kullad and Samosa (have it! It's really different from what you must have had. I almost missed it but had it anyway). Must go place if you're a tea addict, you'll love it.
Akshat Kant
Probably the best Samosa I've ever had ♥️

They say old is gold.<br/>Well this place is old and gold as well. Maintained the quality and it's pocket friendly as well. The bun Makhan is a must try.

Perfect place for conversations!<br/><br/>With the mushrooming Coffee joints, the new generation may forget about the good old, tea stalls. Hence, places like Sharma Tea Stall (popularly known as Sharma Hi ki Chai in Hindi) need to be preserved. It is the quintessential Lucknavi place where you stand around sipping tea in Kulhads (clay cups) or glasses chatting over politics, films or cricket. The tea finds perfect company with Bun Maska (with white homemade style butter) and Samosa (strangely a round one versus the general pyramid shaped ones you get elsewhere). The tea, the Bun Butter and the Samosa are beautiful in taste. It is on a busy street so parking is an issue (similar to everywhere in Lucknow!). There are few tables to stand over but no seating area.<br/><br/>It is a fairly old place and popular among the locals. The prices are extremely low. The staff is nice and service is as quick as it gets.<br/><br/>Go there with family or friends for some good conversations.

Best chai and bun makhan in town for sure......

If you are looking for a quick tea and some snacks in busy Huzratganj this is the place for you,<br/>Very small and simple outlet, it's easy to identify you will find 50-100 people enjoying tea samosa Or bun maska. I ordered tea and samosa, samosa was Very tasty tea was normal, service is super fast you don't have wait. Price is Rs 15 for tea and Rs 15 for samosa. Hygiene is an issue, they need to keep the surrounding also clean.
Ashish Sen Gupta
For an eatery that has been around for decades, they serve rather pathetic tea. And the potli samosas are nothing great either. Apart from the hygeine despite being an open stall, the food is pretty basic.

If you are in lko and you didnt try sharma ji ki chaye ..to aapne kich nhi kiyaa ...they serve kulhad tea and round samose in cheap price you must try once if you are in lko

For all the early morning tea lovers , this is your place. This joint has been famous for quite some time for its tea, round samosa and bun makkhan.<br/>You will find this place crowded for obvious reasons. If you ever visit Lucknow , get your early morning cup of tea from here.

This is the most overhyped place in lucknow. I don't know what people like in them. Rates are very high and they do not serve up to the mark. Their bun makhan, chai as well as samosa are really tasteless. People come here from far away places and i don't know why they come
Mohd Adil
I was not a big fan of tea but once i was at lalbagh with my friends they offer to had sherma ji ki chai. Seriously tea was soo good and know i become a fan of sherma ji ki chai .
Prerna Singh
Nice loved the kulhad chai.<br/>It was rs 35.<br/>And also tried band Makkan which was nice.<br/>Also other tea was available.<br/>Glass tea 15 rs<br/>And maathri was nice
Jitu Sin
Very tasty samose & Bun-butter. Should be more butter in online order. In shop we get the buns with much white bitter. But in online order butter looks like a white paper.
Ashish
Except for the samosa, which was really good. The chai and the bun maska are over rated. Have had better chai and bun maska so the parameters are already high.
Aveek
An iconic joint where the highest priced item is for 20 odd rupees. Thats not something you see everyday. The unique , round samosa is really a spicy flavor bomb. And the fruit bun with a generous slathering of white butter makes for a great accompaniment with tea. A must visit.
Prakhar Goel
The place is one of the delicacies of lucknow. Everything from chai to bun and samosa is mind blowing and awesome. Truely one of his taste and kind. I highly recommended this place if you want to grab a quick bit.
Saikrishna Pothuri
I came from Hyderabad and tried this chai place. The chai and bun masks were average. I really love Hyderabad's Irani Chai and it couldn't beat that. It might be the best Chai of Lucknow but not the best chai which I ever had.
Chhaya Tiwari
The best chai, samose and bun maska I ever had. Everything is worth the price. Great taste, very famous and old shop. Please go and have it once you visit Lucknow.

This trio is amazing...!!❤<br/>Tho tea was bit strong.. (For a non-tea lover like me...) But bun makkhan is the star... Oh n how can we forget round samosa... Different in its own way... !!<br/>Overall... This lucknow special is a must try...😉

"Sharma tea stall" one of the famous tea outlet in lucknow like in bhopal we have raju tea stall , lucknow having "sharma tea stall" and "shukla tea stall"(I'll make separate review post on Shukla tea stall ) . The shop is situated at lalbagh area of lucknow.<br/><br/>Address:- 34 Trilok, Bisheshwar Nath Rd, Sushanpura, Lalbagh, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226001<br/><br/>Price:- khulhad chai ~ 25rs<br/><br/>The recipe is little bit different as compare to normal chai recipe . They separately prepare the mixture of tea and water milk is not pour into that . You can notice in the video they have separate cups which consists of milk in which the mixture of tea and water poured . It is something like sulamani chai but the preparation is totally different. The chai was really very refreshing with very lite flavour of tea , it was amazing.<br/><br/>"SAMOSA" in LUCKNOWi style.<br/>First time when I saw it on the shop I'm thinking that this is a kind of Kachori but when I went at the counter to take token to buy it , then the seller told me about it , this is called samosa in uttar pradesh .<br/><br/>And believe me guy's the filling was really amazing when I asked to the seller about the filling they said - " for the making of masala they are using small size of potatoes which is not the normal one , they're using red potatoes which is small in size and ofcourse guys , the most important thing which make it different from other samosa is the spices used which are very lite in flavour and the "water" of that particular region. (Just swipe left) - you can checkout the filling and must see the colour of the filling 😋 it was amazing , highly recommend.<br/><br/>Address:- 34 Trilok, Bisheshwar Nath Rd, Sushanpura, Lalbagh, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226001<br/><br/>Price:- 10rs per peice

Best tea, bun butter and bun samosa in the city. You will get addicted to it. However, in comparison to previous decade, the quality falls like 2% but it doesn't matter. Enjoy this place with your friends and family.
Himanshu Asthana
To be honest , sharma ji ki chai is overhyped. But i'm 4 stars because being a lucknowite I love being there , because of the atmosphere u will get with ur frnds , it will add up the taste. Samosa are good here.<br/>But must try - Early morning + chai + bun makkhan + ganj..

Having heard of this place from every lucknowite i thought its a lifeline for the people of lucknow.<br/>But i think that the place is just over hyped. The place nearby the seating area and other things have made it more popular<br/>.<br/>Tea was good. I had kulhad tea with bun makhan(white)-4/5<br/>.<br/>I really loved the round samosa. 5/5<br/>

Sharma Ji Ki Chai is one of the famous outlet in city of nawabs after tunday kababi.<br/>I like the tea and bund muska but the quality of their samosa's getting low now a days.<br/>Overall a good place for the morning tea.<br/>Recommended 👍
