Review Zaitoon Restaurant - Madurai

We went for a group dinner with 25+ friends. Valet parking is available and the restaurant is situated in one of the busiest part of the city. A must try mediterranean restaurant in Madurai. To start with, the ambience and cleanliness were of top class. We tried mutton biryani, tawa fish fry, pepper barbeque chicken, chilli prawns, fish finger, lollipop Chicken and few other dishes. Almost all dishes were tasty. I suggest you to try their Kunafa dessert which we felt awesome. They have very wide range of options. The restaurant was almost full when we visited. On the negative part, I personally felt it was too expensive. Otherwise, everything was good.

Ambience of the restaurant was nice, Ordered Moroccon chicken, Mutton Bhuna, stuffed paneer kulcha and garlc naan, As per my opinion chicken was good but it was not hot and I will not recommend mutton here because mutton was slightly rough and chewy. Try chicken was tender and juicy.

One of a best Mediterranean restaurant in town and must try. The place and ambiance are well maintained and kids enjoyed the time around. Little crunchy and crowded but, that is part of running a successful business. Food are tasty and delicious Kids gone crazy on chocolate lava cake Mocktail are little over sugared but not bad. Will definitely visit again on a family get together

Went there after a long day. Had a 10min wait to get seated. Liked the lights. The food was okay - enjoyed the garlic naan.

Splendid food with best ambience and atmosphere. Satisfying service that too having a kind of valet parking. Highly recommending this restaurant for the ones who visit Madhurai.

Vera level experience. Food is extremely good. We tried the lamb rack and sea food platter. They were meaty and the dips added extra flavor on top of it. For desserts, we tried kunafa with Nutella. Must try !! ❤️

Htls its popularity it seems a little crowded. The service is too good and take utmost care - hats off to them. Menu comprises mostly of middle eastern cuisine which I'm not used to, so it may be better if they could brief about the dishes. Price may look High ..Overall experience good.

The Food Quality & Taste is Always the best Experience at Zaitoon, The Mutton Briyani Quantity was enough for an Adult, The Egyptian BBQ Chicken was so Juicy and the Mayonnaise was made by themselves so the match was Perfect, All Spices and it's taste were noticable, The Ambiance was also Good, Good Service, During Weekend it might take a little bit time, Parking Space is a bit conjunction (Roda Side) , Pre Booking Tables are Recommended for a Group of People's, In not Booked at Weekends you have to wait like 15-30Mins.

Ambience, location and service was awesome… Food was as well decent. We tried malai paneer tikka, kozi rice, special milk shake and they were nice. Egg paratha roll was not up to the mark. But, overall a good place for food with family.

The ambience is neat and cool but you don’t get any privacy because the seating arrangements are really congested.Started tasted great . Try their BBQ boneless fish . Mutton biriyani was good nothing special.Downside was their Naan.We couldn’t even chew it . Mutton Kozi Laham was good too . Main Courses were also delicious .

One of the best fine restaurant in Madurai. You can get a unforgettable dining experience there. All Middle east foods are available. Quality and Service is excellent. Situated in a best place in city. Parking space also available. Staffs are friendly and well groomed. Must visit.

I tried Arabic style cuisine after a long time. BBQ chicken was very good and juicy. Mutton sheek kebabs were dry and bland. Chicken biryani was flavorful and in good quality. Overall service is good and responsive. The manager accepted to pack a parcel instead of wasting the food. Lime soda salt was good too. The ambience was very impressive i like the lights and table setup. Keep it up. Falooda was great both in quality and quantity but not worth the steep price.

Expensive compared with other hotel, quantity of food is more, think before you order. Taste is ok.

Good ambience and a good variety on the menu. Special mention of the Pepper BBQ chicken, Al faham chicken, grill fish and Afghani chicken. Brownie with ice cream and fruit creams are out of this world... Waiters are very courteous. A fine dining experience and a good place to treat givers!!

Grill chicken was over cooked and kaboos was hard. Shawarma was worst. Next day i got dysentery and vomiting. Expected as chennai zaitoon but it was totally worst.

I always love zaitoon foods...but im totally dissapointed yesterday..pls dont use repeated oils..do the same favor u do while visiting the place .yesterday we ordered prawns and it lead us to headache and food poisson ..The old prwns were twice fried in same oil.. pls make it fresh everytime

The food being perfect and very similar to the dishes served in the Arab Emirates, the staff could’ve been a bit more enthusiastic.<br/><br/>In general, the staff seemed demotivated and served the dishes for the very purpose of doing it. Although I went in a little late, I understand them being a little tired, a smile would add the comfort of dining in such a fancy venue.<br/><br/>The three star rating is for the food they serve, as an Expatriate living in Dubai and dining the authentic dishes, Zaitoon has prepared the dishes up to the Arabian standard.

This place seriously is mind blowing and it remains of my Bangalore days ! Seriously once I stepped in to tiz restaurant I dint hav much expectations bt once I went in ambience was great ! And I went to this place again for giving a my fst treat to my parents in my fst salary and tey liked the veggie food too ! But only disappointment is Hyderabadi haleem ! I had higher expectations on Haleem bt it was not so great as it contains no flavour and it doesn’t smell great and taste is also Not up to the mark and tat is the only reason tat am giving 4 stars ! If Haleem would hav been good ten tiz place is truly a paradise !

One of the best NV restaurants in Madurai. A bit costlier but worth for every penny. If you around Anna Nagar, Madurai, I recommend you to try Zaitoon..

We went there for lunch and order Nalli soup which was not available then we order seafood soup it was ok no salt, then we ask for Bbq platter which was not available then sizzler we ordered it was like prawns in brown gravy poured on sizzler plate, too much gravy on it, then main course we ordered Biryani which was pathetic, wheat paratha was too good and we order mutton gravy forgot the name which was along with dal, it was ok, nice ambience and valet parking available but we have to get out before 3. 30 to get the driver or else he will leave and we have to walk till the car where he parked.

In the category of sea food zaitoon shows their skills...the taste of prawns in biriyani and fried rice are simply superb and the dining shall end up witha a zaitoon special falooda...if u are a shawarma lover u r at the right place now..

The food at Zaitoon is always good. The quality has been maintained through the years. One little problem which I hope you will correct: one of my favourites, falafel is too hard. I have tried it several times .... it would be nice to have soft falafel. Apart from that, great food and great, cheerful service !!!

Poor taste. Flavourless and bland food. Not worth another try. After a long time i have had such awfully tasting food. It makes me sick even if i think of it now.

Ordered mutton briyani. Received only bones and rice. Briyani tastes like tomato rice and lot of tomatoes in briyani. Completely disappointed. Don't go for this

Used to be great. Nowadays taste is mediocre. Ordered BBQ chicken but received grilled chicken which was very dry. Rice varieties are bland without enough salt.

Ordered BBQ Boneless fish,there was no meat,just slime & was disgusting.i don't even think it was cooked properly.ive been a regular satisfied customer of zaitoon for a long time but this was the most disappointing experience.hope you don't carry this to other customers as this is a very expensive dish.

There are days when biriyani sounds too heavy, and sambar rice seems too mundane. On those days it's always Kozi Laham from zaitoon. The saffron rice is fragrant, and cooked to perfection, the lamb is soft and tender. There are options to pair the rice with chicken or prawns as well. And yes, always, always, with a serving of hummus and thoum 😉

The food from zaitoon has always amazed me. I am from Mumbai and shifted to Madurai and for good 4 months did not find a good restaurant. But zaitoon makes me feel like I am in Mumbai. But #Zomato# disappoints me by restricting their deliver areas in Madurai and I cannot order from Zaitoon. #Zomato# has also disappointed me in Mumbai many times with their services. Having been a regular to Zaitoon in Chennai, I was kind of skeptical if they could replicate the same taste in Madurai.  But, they proved me wrong.  The food here was impeccable as that in Chennai.<br/><br/>We went there for lunch on a fine Sunday.  Our orders:<br/>BBQ Combo - Zaitoon is always known for its bbq items and this was a winner<br/>Chicken Kozi Dajaj - The Arabian version of our biryani.  Mildly spiced and aromatic.  The chicken was appetizing.  Went on to order two more servings.<br/>Chicken Chettinad - The usual one we get in other outlets.  Decent<br/>Breads - We ordered a mixture of different variants of naans and rotis.  Everything were awesome.<br/>Sizzling Brownie - Another sweetheart.  Damn yummy.<br/><br/>Service and ambience were very good.  Would love to go there at regular intervals.

When zaitoon was opened in madurai,, was excited to drop here for so long,,and finally ,, zaitoon in chennai is always known for their tandoori and barbeque ,so we decided to go for barbeque ,,and they didn't disappoint us ,,the chicken was succulent and tender with the mayo and finger licking hummus!!<br/><br/>But the briyani was just okayish which didn't satisfy our tastebuds,,lacked the flavours!!<br/><br/>We had a takeaway this time ,,but still Service was quick and prompt but parking is bit difficult if you have come in a four wheeler!<br/><br/>On a whole best place in madurai if you wanna dig into some barbeque and tandoori food!!

Nobody can replace their taste in arabian dishes in this city. Just the best. But I'm giving only 3 stars considering the cleanliness. I have often found something in food like some wire and like papers. Also sometimes the fish tastes old and smelly.

Good ambience. Very expensive. Wide variety of food items available. But there can be no good rapport with the waiters as they dont communicate properly. They do have chair of kids. Sea food items are not upto the level. On the whole, its a good go in madurai.

Awesome food, especially the barbecue box. Absolutely no issues with the taste and flavour . Packing was neat . But, few items were overpriced for the quantity it offered.

I liked this hotel food. I am from Kerala. I am at Madurai now for job purpose. I used to book food from here. Very nice taste. Once you tried any food from here, you will order always food from here only. Packing also good. And I thank to zomato app to find this hotel in madurai. And very fast packing.

I love food from Zaitoon but today's (Sept 29, 2018) lunch order was slightly disappointing. Paneer Kadai Masala was spicy and sweet. I had specifically mentioned to Zaitoon staff that I don't want sweet in Paneer Kadai Masala as my father is diabetic. He couldn't enjoy the tasty Paneer Kadai Masala. I hope next time it will be prepared as per the requirements of the customer. Dal tadka was really good. Food was delivered hot.

Ordered Dal Tadka and Tandoori Roti from Zaitoon. It was delivered in 1 hour. It was delicious! Didn't have to reheat it. It was delivered hot.
