Nice and simple place with Great South Indian food! We were a group of 6 and let the owner choose for us 6 dishes for sharing. It was so tasty and we immediately ordered 3 more dishes…😋 If you like South Indian food - go there and you will not regret it.

A family of 4, we traveled to Manali for the first time. We suffered with food contamination and stomach upset very next day. We tried few hotels serve South Indian food, but they are utterly useless in taste and high priced. Two nights, we had vomit and stomach burn. Looking at 4.9/5 rating in google map, we called hotel and spoke to Mr. Kranti Iyer. Although we went in dark, his staff served food hot and great taste. We started with Rasam shot and we continue to order Sambar rice, idli, rasam rice, guntaponganaalu and curd rice. We slept without any stomach issue on this night. Next day again we went to this hotel for breakfast before leaving Manali. My kids wanted to taste again as they felt like home eating. They don’t serve home delivery. Pricing is very reasonable. Points to consider. 1) a street lamp outside hotel, 2) faster turnaround in service

Great place to taste some authentic South Indian food in Manali. Food served with lot of love. Enjoyed their Idli, Dosa, Butter fried Idli and refreshing filter coffee. They won't do takeaway and want their clients to enjoy fresh food. The one less star is only because I personally found it expensive for South Indian food. Having come from a trip to Madurai recently, it felt a lot lot expensive. Sure it could be still one of the less expensive places in Manali to have South Indian food but It just makes me wonder how expensive in general it is to have South Indian food here. If they make it more reasonable then they would have many many more patrons I'm sure and also make it more appealing. We loved the laid back ambience and enjoyed our visit.

Fully deserve the 4.9 star rating. Super authentic south indian food with excellent service by the owner and his well trained staff. Just a forewarning, The approach and the humble external facade might make u hesitate to go in but trust me and go for it. You won't regret it.

If you're looking for simple authentic south Indian food in Manali, this is your place. A 170m uphill walk from Hidimba temple to this place is totally worth it!! The food eases all your pain and hunger. We ordered masala dosa, podi idli, podi dosa, tomato uttapam, butter idli, veg paniyaaram, and filter coffee. None of them, I repeat, none of them disappointed us. Saambhar and chutney are also very saatvik and delicious. The staff is superrrr humble, they just upped our overall experience with their humility.

Set in the interior and neighbourhood of Hidimba Temple ...got it as a recommendation from Google ...nestled in woods ..was bit disappointed to reach as it gives a rustic look....but each and every bite was relished and enjoyed. Food was awesome..m so glad we made effort to reach else we wudnt have discovered this hidden Jem. Must visit. Even the owner personally attends the guest. Good guy's. Keep it up.

The best South Indian food I have had in the north! The host Kranti was very sweet and made us jain food which is so rare here, some of the other restaurants actually told us it was too much ‘kasht’ to customise food like that! Thanks to them we found Southern Souls !! The food and specially the hospitality was amazing! Dosas, Paniyaram and the homemade sodas were the best! Thanks a lot Kranti :)

Amazing place set in traditional South Indian style decor with some really tasty South Indian food. Probably the best you can find in Manali. You'd be overwhelmed with the kindness and hospitality of the owner, and pity we couldn't complete our conversation of our journeys in life. Do try the masala dosa and idlis. I'd recommend this place for anyone who wishes to try some south Indian food during their travels.
