Review Anmol Family Restaurant - Mangalore

akash patra
Nice Veg Restaurant. Present some 1-2km from the station. Ordered Rawa Dosa, Idli with Sambhar dipped, Semiya Upma. Everything was good and service was also great. Go for it, when you are in Mangalore
Hemanth Shriyan
Good place to have various types of local breakfast items. The place is easily reachable and has a decent ambiance with good seating capacity. Service is lightening fast and taste is very good. Quantity, quality and pricing are perfect. This is a good place to have food with the family or in solitude.

A pure vegetarian restaurant located in Bejai. They have self service at lower ground floor and Air conditioned service hall at first floor. We had breakfast here while staying at nearby hotel. The options are really good with wide variety across dosa, semige and idli variants. We had Cheese Masala Dosa, Butter Masala Dosa, Tomato Omlette, Bangalore Masala Dosa, Idli, Vada, Mangalore Buns, Semige with Hing Kadi, Semige with daalitoy, Semige with Banana Rasayana, Mudo, Kotte, Goli Bajjo, Ragi Manni, Appam with Kurma, Poori and Bhaji, Chikko Sheera, Akki Roti, Tea, Coffee and Lemon Tea. Most of the items were served without much delay though takeaway can take longer time. Staff are friendly and courteous. Seating capacity is around 30 in both areas. They have other good options for lunch and dinner. Seating capacity can be a constraint during peak hours. Overall a good and must visit place in Mangalore.

Good place to have South Indian and Mangalorian breakfast. Service is fast. Food tastes very good. No compromise on quantity and quality of food. Prices are kept affordable. Street parking is available. Difficult to find parking for cars as it's a narrow and busy road.
S Infomedia
Food is tasty. Must try for local dishes. Staff is friendly. Ambience is deceptive. Delivery available at extra charge.

Good restaurant, easily locatable. The food is tasty and well priced. There are two floors, the ground floor is the self service area, the second floor is the A/C service hall. The ambience is pretty average according to the prices. The dosas are supposed to be pretty famous here, their taste is above average though. But all the food tasted pretty healthy and service was fast too.

Anmol restaurant is a fantastic spot for South Indian cuisine enthusiasts. Their diverse range of dosas is a culinary adventure you shouldn't miss. The MDC special masala dosa, with its delightful cheese filling, is a must-try for cheese lovers. They also offer a variety of South Indian snacks that cater to different tastes. The only minor drawback is that parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours. Overall, Anmol is a must-visit for a delectable South Indian food experience, especially if you're a fan of dosas and unique flavors.
Kumaresan Selva
One of finest breakfast spot in Mangalore.. Tasted chicku keszri..unique and delicious.. Reasonably price.
Vandan Pinto
The AC restaurant on the first floor is good. The food is delicious and always freshly prepared. Staff and service is consistently good. They undertake outdoor catering services for small events. Prices are at par with similar establishments in the city.
Ganesh M
Good restaurant. The food is good. But tea, coffee are normal only, do not expect more. Recommend to try Bangalore masala dosa... Prices are a little bit high. You can try their menu. Tea coffee prices are high, but taste is not up to the mark for that price. Please note this

We ordered a mini thali, paneer butter masala, naan, and gobi manchurian. The taste of all the dishes were good, the thali came in a divider plastic box, so you can expect the side dishes' quantities to be quite small. The thali also comes with a dessert which is good however, there wasn't any dry veg dish which is very unusual in a thali and disappointing for pure veg eaters. The paneer butter masala was the clear standout, looks like it's their bestseller for a reason.

I liked butter masala dosa. Must try it😍

I've grown up eating Anmol's Special Vegetarian Dum Biriyani and it's better than several others I've had elsewhere. (On a side note, I know there is no such thing as vegetarian biriyani, but it is what it is)

Aditi Manghnani
A brilliant experience, giving me a typical home style taste for my evening snacks. The best thing what I liked was the Coffee, a perfect blend of Milk and Decoction, bittery sweet.

Pathetic experience, if the food which i ordered is not available yet then why it's added in the menu? And the restaurant guy calls me and i have to listen to his arrogant behaviour he was so rude on the call and upon that he drop the call. I wil never ever order again.

Cheese Paper Roast Masala Dosa & Cheese Rawa Masala Dosa...😋😋. Crisp and flavourful. Cheese and dosa work together beautifully.... Highly recommended
Tanisha K
Had ordered kaju masala, the taste is really good but the quantity that they provide is disappointing for delivery, the quantity that they provide when you visit the place and have there is more compared to what they provide in home delivery.
Akshatha K
Very tasty food. Especially dosas. I recommend you to visit this place and then have dosa. If u order dosa then it will loose it crispiness and hotness. Vegetable cutlet are awesome.

Food quality and quantity is good, however the price is on the higher side. Service is just average, the waiters can improve their attitude.
Quick execution of order and fast delivery is worthy of mention. Also courteous delivery person adds to the comfortable experience. Food is also quite tasty. To top it all, the discount offered by Zomato is simply attractive and tempting to order again and again.

Need to improve packing beverages like tea coffee. Completely spilled into the plastic bags. Cups are not handled properly, so the is breakage in cups and tea completely in plastic bag. Both the hotel and zomato need to improve on packaging and transport
I found an insect in my sambhar when I ordered the food from here. I don't know what else to say. Forget food quality atleast start with hygiene and infection control.

Food: 2.5/5
Ambience:2/5
Price:1/5
Customer service:1/5

The food tastes not upto the mark for that price, and that doesnt add up.The ambience here is poor. The main factor is that the suppliers are rude and does not listen to the compete order. They are acting as if they upto a race.
Overall experience was bad.
Kapil Muchandi
We been there for a quick breakfast before we head to Coorg. Superb South Indian breakfast. We had the combo breakfast and dosa. We liked the Upma and Dosa so we ordered one more. The craving for South Indian breakfast was fulfilled here. Superb breakfast

The Hyderabad Dum biriyani of this place is a must to try, blended with ghee dry fruits and whatnot! I lived at Hyderabad and there are places there especially for biriyanis, this tastes the same. Wow! Thank you Anmol.

My search for masala dosa in mangalore led me to this quintessential south india restaurant close to lalbagh.but very much to my badluck this place didnot impress me much even though they offer u range of dosas my hunt is pending...

But this place did redeem it's position by offering 50% discount and managing my breakfast scenes..chikoo shake with vanilla is the winner 😘

Anmol is always an excellent choice for lunch and dinner items.. They have an colorful range of specialty food preparation.. Their Anmol dum biryani is too tasty.. Other starters like Paneer Tava fry and mushroom urval are mind blowing also.

Anmol Restaurant was previously called as Dosa Camp where you would get variety of dosas with different baji/masala stuffing so any dosa you order here are super tasty be it Mysore Masala,Benne Masala or Open Masala Dosa. The restaurant also serves best Gobi Uruval and Chikku Sheera so do not miss these dishes to try here.
Hygiene: 3.5/5
Ambience: 3/5
Taste:4/5

Undeniably among the most affordable and high quality vegetarian options available. Go to place for a fantastic Udupi style breakfast. Mysore Masala dosa is bae and Vada's are the amaze.

I am not sure if this one is a sister concern to the other Anmol which is in Lal Bagh but probably to verify the same, I ended up ordering my Sunday breakfast from here. And regret is the last feeling I have! So I ordered in Ghee Masala Dosa, Chiku Sheera, Buns and Dahi Vada. This naturally came with two additions of Coconut chutney-Sambar and Namkeen to be sprinkled over the Dahi Vada.
The Dosa was laced with ghee. I am personally nor a big fan of the potato stuffing onside because it's a little blant for my taste. But the crispy and dripping with ghee dosa more than makes up for it. Buns is a beautiful discovery I made just a few days ago! Made much like the Bhatura in Chola-Bhatura this one is essentially a mildly sweet and utterly soft bun with occasional bursts of Fennel Seeds which simply makes you go "ummm" in the tongue! It is mostly served with the white coconut chutney but I prefer having it without any side dips.
The Dahi Vada was very good. One plate comes with two vadas and a copious amount of sweet and thick Dahi! Other than the fact that the sahi is chilled what I also love about the preparation are the small of count inside the vadas. Ideally one should be sprinkling the namkeen over it and eating but I prefer savoring the dish sans it. And finally to the sweet dish, Cheeku Sheera. A softer and milder version of "Semolina Halwa" this one is also generously laced with Ghee and full of dry fruits like cashews and raisins. Since I ordered for Cheeku sheera it also came with small bits of Cheeku. The taste is good and mild though it may get into you after a couple of bites. Hence having it in small quantities is recommended.
A special mention to the Sambar which we usually end up wasting. This one is good and can actually be paid attention to instead of being ignored!
The pocket pinch is decent though they charge 40 bucks for home delivery. And the speed of delivery is quite good.

Very good place to be with family. Hygenic kitchens and good staffs. Management is also very good.

Must try : Panneer Uruval, CHIKKU SHEERA (natural) with loads of ghee.

Well this is the place where I used to visit most of the times with my friends during my studies in Mangalore as it was nearest restaurant from our hostle. They have different A/c and non a/c sections on different floors. My all time favourite here is cheese sponge dosa, dal khichdi and lime juice of course. The service is not that good here and the ambience is so-so... Its worth visiting here once in a while. My personal opinion for this place is that it needs to improve on their service, otherwise its a good place.

Made a visit to this place yesterday night for dinner. Good ambience and friendly waiters and good food.

For the cost they charge you, it would be better if they provide better quantity as well.

Ambience : 3/5
Food : 3.5/5
Hygiene : 3/5
I love the food here. Especially the mushroom biryani!!! Its so good. The chinese behl is also delicious. Everything here is good and reasonably priced. The ambience is quite nice. I would love to come back again and again for more mushroom biryani!!

If Ur searching for the perfect dosas then this is you place.. And you get the most reasonable and the yummiest north Indian Thali here. Don't try any of the fresh fruit juices it sucks.
Andreya Dcruze
You must try this restaurant for good dosa's for breakfast, its a veg restaurant, i even tried paneer items, they do make good food! If u lookin for typical south indian food, you can count on this! Anytime!!
Ananth
The north Indian items are fabulous. Dosa items are extremely good especially thier Specialty M.D.C which is must try and the biryani's are extremely good
Taste 4.5/5.0
Ambience 4.0/5.0
Experience 4.0/5.0
Price3.5/5.0

One of the things about many of resturants in mangalore is that they will deliver they will deliver the food home so that you can enjoy the meal sitting in comfort of ur own home.

We did exactly the same today for dinner by ordering from anmol resturant. This is a pure vegiterian resturant, if you are a hardcore vegeterian, be aware when u step into this resturant and order!!!!
Nitin Nair
Been here once for breakfast! The dosa was excellent but the sambhar and chutney was average! So given that I found it a bit highly priced, the ambience was just ok too!
Sujan Rao
Good vegetarian restaurant but slightly overpriced. Cheese Masala Dosa, Chikku Sheera are worth trying. Lots of tasty rice items on menu with Lemon Rice priced Rs 110. Veg Biriyanis are real good.
Anjeline Jose
It is my breakfast place. Love their cheese masala dosa, buns & sheera. Even though I'm a non-vegetarian, there are times when I crave for simple tasty veg food n I run to this place for lunch to have their palak paneer rice, it is really yummy and the raitha they serve with this is also really good. Have tried their north Indian thali as well, its pretty good and also very filling. On the whole, it is a small nice restaurant that you can go to anytime of the day and relish some tasty food.
Atul Bhat
Best place in town for Breakfast, or Evening Snacks. I have been here mostly for their Dosas and Snacks. But other north indian and Chinese dishes they serve are also treat for the tongue.
Pooja G
Amazing way to start your day!!! And the chikoo shira!!!
Hradik Bhatt
A Good place for vegetarians, a little overpriced though. There are two different sections, a/c as well as non a/c. Meals are good in taste and sufficient in quantity. Fruit juices and milkshakes are definitely overpriced and worth avoiding. Khichadi and Aaloo paratha are worth tasting. Chinese cuisines are surprisingly good. The variety in Dosas is definitely the highlight of this place. Breakfast items are good. But you will be disappointed if you loved masala tea, as they don't provide masala tea!

This is one the best Vegetarian places to dine in and mostly order home deliveries. Various types of Biryani, Lot of options in starters and They have a special item everyday. The breakfast has lots of Varieties. Lot of options in Dosa. A must try!

A nice veg restuarent .
The breakfast is pretty delecious . The buns and dosas are my fav.
The starters are tasty . The only drawback is the added colour especially in palak rice.
Shweta Mistry
Unbelieveable to have such good north indian food resturant in the south. Must try panner makhanwala. :')
And Cheese Dosa. Its reasonable. All the dishes are fantastic and they have a good hospitality :)

One of the nice things about many of the restaurants in Mangalore is that they will deliver the food home so that you can enjoy the meal sitting in the comfort of your own home.

We did exactly this for dinner today by ordering from Anmol Family Restaurant. This is a pure vegetarian restaurant so if you are a hardcore non-vegetarian, then please be aware when you step into this restaurant or order in.

During the day, they serve the usual breakfast items such as idli, vada, dosa, etc. In the afternoon, they have North and South Indian meals. For dessert, they serve various flavors of ice cream, gulab jamoon, etc. If you are feeling thirsty, you can order a juice or milkshake, coffee, tea, horlicks, etc.

We ordered the following items which were sufficient for four people (or even more!). The order came within 20 minutes and luckily, nothing had spilled out from the containers as we usually face that with some other places!

1. Vegetable Hakka Noodles - The noodles were soft and not very oily. You can eat this by itself or along with a gravy item.

2. Gobi Manchurian Gravy - There were sufficient pieces of Gobi in the gravy and the taste was just right.

3. Paneer Chilly Manchurian - One of the appetizers which we ordered was the Paneer Chilly Manchurian. Generous pieces of paneer along with the usual capsicum and onion pieces to accompany it. The pieces were not too big and not very small.

4. Baby Corn Garlic - Another appetizer we had ordered was the Baby Corn Garlic. The coating of the baby corn was red and it tasted different from other side dishes of baby corn that we have ordered from other places. You can eat this by itself or with the noodles.

5. Vegetable Balls in Manchurian Gravy - One of the popular items which can be found in any Chinese Menu. There were small size vegetable balls drenched in the manchurian gravy. It was not spicy and not too bland.

6. Sichuan Fried Rice - This item tasted really good and was full of flavor. It was not oily at all.

I have never dined in, so not sure about the ambiance and service. But if you do get a chance, please visit Anmol.

This restaurant seems to be more of a dosa and snacks serving place. However we landed up here for lunch on a weekday.
They have few north and mostly south indian options on the menu.
We went for the simple south indian thali.
It comprised of some south indian vegetables and poori apart from the usual rice, rasam, sambhar, curd, buttermilk and a piece of sweet.
The taste of everything was just about ok, and nothing was really memorable.
The sweet looked rather unappetizing so I didn't try it out.

Service is fast and it is a small simple restaurant. Basic in nature.
Maybe I would try the dosa sometime here, to see if it's better than the meals. Dosas are not served during meal times though.
Bakasuri
They have a huge varieties of dosas and some are the days special so you will know when to visit for your favorite dosa. The ambience is decent and it is a bit far off from the center of the city but the dosas are really good and a must try. We did order the chinese chaat which was ok again do not make the mistake I made just aim for the dosa which are their USP.
KELVIN CASTELINO
A place well-known in Mangalore for its Veg cuisine, specially their Breakfast and Snack Times, for their their amazing list of items they have to serve you to help you fill your tummies..
This place is most often visited by my folks and me during Sunday Breakfast, especially for their Dosa's.. I could vouch you that these are one of the best dosa makers around Mangalore.. And their combinations in them is hard to find anywhere else..
Neverthless, the dishes I would suggest you to try out here are,
Cheese Dosa
Cheese Masala Dosa
Paneer Dosa
Weekday Special Dosa's
Sheera
Jelebi
Goli Baje
Gobi Manchury

I have few of my friends from outside Mangalore, who do make it a point to visit this place everytime they in Mangalore.. So whats so special about them you ask?, here it goes,
Food: Freshly made, served hot, unique its flavours, new taste buds explored almost all times, and made just perfectly right for all south indian food lovers.. Have been to this place for Lunch and Dinner too, but I would say thats just ordinary.. But good food is what this place is known for..
Service: Super fast and quick service is another feather in their cap.. They dont waste time in delaying whatsoever, unless you are seated in the AC longue, and only one server is appointed at that part of the day..
Hygiene: You can see the kitchen entirely from where you are seated, and you can check yourself how they cook and clean... Well maintained, other than the washroom, which they need to work on..
Location: Place is very small and cozy, so not much seats avaialble.. Most of the times this place is flooded, and getting a parking space nearby is also a pain..
Price: Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food served..
Ambience: Nothing so great about it, just set for a quick bite..

So overall, this place you gotta visit soon for a good dosa bite and hot tea :)
