Dolphin lunch home is a great place to have a hearty seafood meal in Manipal without spending too much.
The ambience is quaint from 11:30-1 after which it starts getting crowded.
I have visited this place on multiple occasions and ordered various dishes, some of which were heavenly while a few failed to impress me.
Standard meal -
2 pieces of deep fried chicken (called kebabs in Karnataka for some reason), Rice (White/parboiled), Curry (Fish/chicken), Dry shrimp chutney, A sabzi which changes daily, and pickle.

This is a filling meal in itself for a very reasonable price. The chicken is delicious although it doesn't look very healthy.

Anjal Tawa Fry

As good as masala fried seer fish can be. It was served fresh and the piece was quite big.

The fish was great, masala was great. I'm not a huge fan of the fish itself, but here it was of a decent size and wasn't too bony.

The prawns were pretty small. Nothing too special. They were crispy and tangy.

It was a coconut based chicken curry. Its taste reminded me of Malabar flavors. The coconut was a little too overpowering.

I feel this does justice to the prawns where the deep fry fails to. It's served with a lot of masala and so it tastes better with neer dosa than with rice.
I feel this place is one of the best lunch eateries in Manipal close to the academic section. Although some dishes are average, I think it deserves 5 stars due to its value for money. It's perfect when you know what to order.
My go to drink to accompany the meal is lemon flavored Sipra, a local variant of Sprite.
Chicken meal with chicken curry and chicken kebab is my go to at this place. They also have some amazing seafood items. Great food at very reasonable price! Meal costs only 60₹. Definitely a must visit for traditional Kudla style food!

My favourite place to eat during lunch time especially. I love their chicken kabab. Plus, the price is very affordable. Restaurant is clean and service is good-fast except when you order something else.
Place to eat when you go broke as the price of the meals here are very cheap and the quantity can get your belly loaded af. This is a lunch home to many regular customers who have their everyday lunch here.
Can be tried once for their food, I personally didn't like their Tawa fry as it wasn't as fresh as I expected. Maybe just a bad coincidence, but the service was really good and staff are very friendly.
Excellent sea food at affordable price. This place is always crowded though it is 1 km away from the Manipal campus. It is frequented by the staff, students and locals alike. You get all types of sea food, Chicken starters , veg rice items and authentic Mangalorean food.
Service is quick and food is like home cooked meal.

Good food on a budget was busy rustic and needs hygiene standards but due to its popularity its just so busy but service is quick food is good and fish fresh as ever.
Beyond the shabby dining area and the assortment of strong fishy smells, is a genuine canteen for the common man serving southern fish delicacies.
The servers have a constant smile on their face and are eager to keep pouring refills on your banana leaf. The fish is fresh and the masalas authentic.
Do give this place a chance.
A very much recommended place to be when you’re in Manipal. It is not a fancy but a small restaurant and the food the inexpensive. I enjoyed everything on the menu, especially the fishes. Did not like their biriyani though.
Kind of Budget friendly.
Their must-try dishes include disco fish, chicken ghee roast, prawns and other fishes. They have unlimited rice with options for white and boiled. The service is also quick.
The reason for 4 stars once in a while I have receive not so fresh fish and uncooked chicken.
This seafood restaurant is much better than other overrated restaurants in and around Udupi. Serves fish meals and variety of seafood. Tawa fry is a must try.
The food joint speciality is sea food. The taste was good. We ordered two fish thali which consisted of pickle, dry prawns chutney, rice ( white/ boiled) fish curry. A muru tawa fry , bangude tawa fry and squid ghee roast. Taste of tawa fry and thali was good but the ghee roast was sweet which i didn't like had raisins in it and it didn't taste like ghee roast either. The price quite was affordable all it costed was Rs 380 for this . They serve more rice if you want. Friendly atmosphere.
