Review Cafe Tato - Margao

Preetilata
A no fancy old hotel with some great vegetarian dishes. We tried puri with sukhi aalo bhaji, pao with mushroom bhaji, sweet bun, veg cutlet, idli sambhar, roti, pineapple juice, and coffee. Everything was very good. Quantity was decent enough for their respective prices. Ground floor is non-ac and first floor is ac. Quick service. They need to improve their packaging style for delivery. Bhaji was packed in polythene

Visited this place in May 2023. We found this cafe nearby our stay and as reviewed as one of the oldest cafes around, we thought of visiting the same. It has this nice old vibe where the traveler's and daily commuters are taking their usual halt and meals. I really liked the atmosphere here, also our early morning visit added to its charm. It has both veg and non-veg options. You could pick any meal and I am sure you won't be disappointed. We had some South Indian breakfast and eggs/omelet.

The starters lemon chicken and veg tali is ok. Prawns biryani is good. Chicken fried rice is ok. All food items are mild spicy.

Service speed: 10+ Cleanliness/Decor: 6 Food : tasty and quite inexpensive. Location: small side street, but easy to find. My thali puri was served within 2 minutes max. Puri were totally fresh. Friendly staff, head waiter bit impatient but I put it down to him doing above his best. It wasn't busy but I had just finished and bill arrived immediately. Tips for owner: Close for 2 of the less busy days and give some redecoration and good clean. When not busy, please allow guest to wait few minutes after finishing meal. Cannot fault the food and bottle water was nice and ice cold. If in the area again I would definitely return.

You can't go wrong with Cafe Tato. One of the best breakfast options you can have in Goa. Their Sheera, Mirchi, Puri Bhaji is one of the best. One difference is that I liked the Sheera from this outlet compared to the other ones. They have ample seating space and decent parking too.

This was the only place in Madgaon (Margao), Goa where we were surprised to see such a quick service… It was damn very quick!! We thought they might take half and hour to one hour looking at the crowd in the morning time around 9.30 - 10am. We placed the order and we got all the food within 5-10mins. We had ordered Cheese Masala Dosa, Vada Sambar, Mosambi (Sweet Lime/ Lemon) Juice, Shira, Mix Bhaji with Puri, Watermelon Juice, Fruit Salad, Masala Dosa, Idli Vada, Tomato onion uttappa. The food quality was 👌🏼 A must visit place if you are very much hungry and want to get the food on time.

Food here was really delicious. Staff were quite polite and humble towards customer. Prices are moderate. Parking space is a bit problem. It's not beside the road but google maps indicate it correctly. Cash & other payments are available.

Cafe Tato is very famous for its delicious food. The one in Margao has both a cafe and a dining restaurant. The outlet has formal dining in (serves veg & non-veg) and a cafe that serves tasty breakfast and snacks. I would suggest you try their Veg Thali Pulao Fresh lime Water I still need to try out more of their dishes to suggest you more. The staff is welcoming, courteous and ever helpful.

Best place to have a quick bite, or a quick breakfast or a spot of tea with some snacks. Good food options as well. Must try their mix bhaji with pao, puri or bun. Try their samosas and vadas as well. The crowd it pulls itself is proof of its quality.

Their speciality is mix bhaji pav . A must try. Very good and fast service too. My most loved tea time spot. Usually crowded but the service is very good. Worth a visit. This is a pure veg restaurant. Ambience is also quite good. Located at the centre of margao city.

Located on the busy streets of Margao this outlet is a worth visiting if you are in town specially to try their Puri bhaji. These bhaji have special masala in it. 'Buns' hit the number two spot. Sweet flavour of banana was tempting. Its definitely a lip smacking experience. We met Goan folks and had friendly chat about the town.

Fantastic quick cafe. Although I only did Zomato order. Food was excellent. Fully insde yet crispy outside vada and soft idlies Sambar was also homely with good amount of veggies. Overall would recommend and definitely visit or order again. Shira was also nice. Not like at average South Indian places. Good quality ingredients. Their food surely backs up their long standing reputation. Super reasonable. Finding parking around might be a challange, plan ahead.

Been to this place since it started in Margao and when their first place was located in Panjim. This was a must visit place when people from the South went to Panjim. It has history and culture associated with it. TATO means grandfather, who was the person behind this must visit enterprise. Their puri or pao baji is just heaven.
