Visited on my birthday recently. Totally loved the food here. The place has good ambience. The chicken tandoori and Hariyali kebab was so delicious. Squids golden fry was super crunchy. The cheese garlic naan with butter chicken tasted really awesome. They are known specifically for their Goan delicacies. Will surely try there Fish thali and seafood on next visit. Highly recommended place for friends and family get togethers. This place is crowded on weekends.

Food was good in taste. Seating was available even on rushed days. Service was Ok. And good for family and kids.

Delicious Food Visited last week for friend's Birthday. Very delicious food must say. i being a foodie truly recommend this place if you visit goa. This place serve Veg, Non Veg and Alcohol also. I had one of best Cheese Garlic Naan and Biryani till now in Goa. Margao I feel one of the best fine dining restaurant in Margao. Ambience and location is good but car parking might be tricky as restaurant premises has just 3 car parking slots, all others need to park road side. Food is fantastic, we had chicken maharaja, veg crispy, squids butter garlic and all dishes were good. Icing on cake was khichadi, nicely prepared. About sitting arrangements I felt tables are little higher then normal and for short people it might become inconvenient. Overall a great place.

Ranche Ghar does a decent fish thali with a generous slab of fish on the side. The fried prawns and the lime soda were perfect. In terms of Indian food, the meal was average, but then again they aren't known for their Indian fare. Service is prompt and polite and the place is air-conditioned and comfortable. We visited the restaurant around 1:30 PM, and despite it being crowded, the vibrant atmosphere added to the experience. We indulged in a variety of refreshing drinks, including Mango Tango and Fresh Lime Soda, all of which were delightful. Our choice of starters, Chicken Shanghai and Paneer 65, surpassed our expectations with their delicious flavors. For the main course, we savored perfectly cooked Cheese Garlic Naan and Veg Fried Rice. The prompt service and reasonable pricing further enhanced our overall enjoyment of the meal.

Fantastic place in Margao for authentic Goan Fish Curry Rice thali. The taste is simply superb. While they have a large menu, you can never get disappointed if you stick to the basics and order the Fish curry rice thali - with options of fried fish - prawns, king fish, chonak, bangda,etc. accompanied by chilled beer!

The Goan special fish thali is really worth a try. Great fish quality. Really fresh and tasty. Love the chicken lollipops too. The service is pretty fast and ambience is great too. Love visiting this place for a fish thali while in Margao. Must visit place.

Visited the place for a colleague's farewell. Quick service. Good staff. Ambiance is good. Food is pretty good. We had ordered few non veg starters, all were pretty good. Even the non veg and vegetarian main courses were good. Their cheese garlic naan is great though.

The taste and the food quality was very nice but very much disappointed with the quantity. I had ordered 2 chill y babycorn and the quantity looked like a single dish packed into two boxes. Not really happy.

The chicken used in the chicken sukha mangalorean style seems to be old stock ,deep Frozen, very hard stiff and effort required to chew,not expected from a well known restaurant.rest all was ok.<br/>

Sorry guys, but just had to say this cause it just isn't done. We have ordered multiple times from this place but for some reason the Tandoori we ordered today wasn't up to the mark at all. The food was microwaved, overcooked and completely stone hard. A waste of money and a huge disappointment. Not expected. I hope the staff takes notice of this and doesn't repeat the same to future unsuspecting customers.

The nilgiri chicken which was ordered was interesting. Spicy and flavourful, but not of typical masalas. The fish tikka was weird since I was not expecting it in a gravy. Other than that, if you can handle spicy and a bit of oil, this is a good place to try.

Special fish thali is really good. Staff is polite and well understanding. Need to improve hygiene in toilets. Upper floor is suffocating due to insufficient air flow.

I am surprised at the rating this restaurant has. The place stinks of phenyl or some other cleaning liquid. The hygeine standards are poor. The washroom is dirty and stinky.<br/><br/>The food is of decent quality. But the overall experience is below par.

Everything in the thali was delicious and nothing compared to knock offs you may have tried earlier. Actually it's a 4.5.<br/><br/>Like any other family restaurant this place has nothing extraordinary as per ambience but one can get some really good goan thali here.<br/><br/>We had one regular and one spacial fish thali, ₹150 and ₹240 each. Both the thali contains rice, salad, sol curry, one coconut based dry veg, prawn xacuti, mussels, dry prawn kismoor, rawa fried fish (regular: pomfret & spcl: king fish) and fresh cut watermelons. The spacial thali additionally has one roti, crab dish and one gulab jamun. All the Seafood were fresh. Ordered a veg sizzler. Felt really disappointed at what was served. Never knew sizzlers are that distasteful. Would recommend for other well known veg dishes.

Taste gets 5 star. I'm a Veggie. No doubt whatever u order I never disappointed by taste. Nice environment. Pocket friendly. 90% of waiters are very professional n friendly. We went here with a huge seafood craving and the place did not disappoint me. We ordered bombil fry, squids batter fry and normal fish thali with pomfret as the fish of the day. Although the service took time but the wait was worth it. I relished each and every bit of fish. The seafood was fresh and quite crispy to say the least. Literally the bombil A. K. A Bombay duck crumbled in the mouth. I would definitely recommend visiting this place to all sea food lovers craving for authentic Goan food experience.

Yummy food. I love their chicken dishes specially the chicken MALAI kebabs. It's a bit high priced but considering good service and food also ambience is average. It's worth it.

Ranche Ghar is the place for seafood lovers. We ordered special fish thali and ate a variety of seafood delicacies like, shell fish, dry fish, crab curry, silver fish curry, surmai fry. One thali is more than sufficient for a person. The staff is very courteous and prompt in service. Definitely recommended.

So this was my 2nd visit to this place in a matter of 3 months. And I was surprised to see the level of decline in the quality. I ordered fish platter which hardly had any good fish. In addition, I ordered king fish which was stale and overcooked. So for someone who loves seafood I am deeply disappointed with the restaurant.

Went there to have their thali. We ended up ordering assorted tandoori platter which included chicken angava, malai kebab, chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, chicken seem, reshmi kebab, chicken bangava- the juiciest platter I ever had. The thali’s that we tried were special fish thali and Goan chicken thali. The best thali’s ever had. Also you have got to try out their fruti cola from mocktails. This place is always having a crowd throughout the week.. thier biryanis are too Good must try. And other north Indian food items are well made. Service is quick.

Ambience is very good very spacious and the service is fast and courteous. Food is good. Have tried their goan fish Thali which was just about okay. Their chicken starters are really great and the clear soup is well made. Main course in North Indian style is good.

We ordered regular Thali. The prawn curry was too yummy and spicy...the quantity is just enough to fill ur stomach.. No need of extra rice. Overall it's a nice place and quite hygienic with reasonable price.

We reside in Vilanova and this hotel is quite far ,but yet the hospitality and determination was worth waiting for the order, as they some how tried to deliver to the right address by repeated calling for the landmarks.....

we ordered Special Goan fish thali .. it had variety of dishes in it from shell fish , crab curry , king fish fry , dry prawns with fresh coconut , solkadi , prawns curry.. Taste was good.. can increase the number of prawns in curry.. and the cut of king fish could have been bigger.. Overall Good experience.. recommended 👍

It was my company Espressotive 3rd year anniversary and we all went to Ranche Ghar for lunch.. We tried starters in chicken and veg it was very good and delicious.. We loved the ambience and food a lot.. I would recommend the corporates to do try this place.. We get amazing corporate discount for groups.. Had prawns biryani and tandoori chicken. Prawns biryani was well cooked and blended with spices, out of the world. Ambience was also really nice. Highly recommend this for food lovers. Go for it.

Loved this place. I was here with my friend almost a month back. Food was really good and more importantly the service. If I am not mistaken the waiter was Mr. Gour, he was polite and attentive. Some more training and knowledge to staff can take this restaurant to whole new level. Would love to visit again...

Sunday18th feb we visited ranche ghar. Entire restaurant is full luckily we got one table to sit. Ambience is good very clean restaurant. We ordered veg and non veg starters. Everything was tasty and servce also very good.

One of the best restaurant in margao. Good food specially seafood. Thier special fish thali is my favorite. Ambiance is good. Clean and hygienic food. Murg tikka Kabab and murg angar Kabab was very tasty. Totally satisfied.

Went there on valentine's night for dinner after hearing praises about their food...<br/><br/>The ambiance was okay.. We weregreeted by a guy who then took us to our table.. I asked him specificly for a table away from the ac.. He took us to a table right below the ac.. Talk about listening to the guest needs and requirements...<br/><br/>So we started ordering food and drinks.. He guy taking the order did not have much knowledge about the fishes and dishes... Training guys.. Really needed to look into that..<br/><br/>The service was very slow... 14th Feb.. Valentine's day.. Really busy.. But that is not the guests problem..<br/><br/>After the starters the guy places a plate of onions and lime.. It was old.. So I sent it back.. We got an other plate.. Still bad and when I say bad I mean black and dried onions.. Even a dhaba will give me clean onions.. Makes you wonder what hygiene standards they have in the kitchen.. so I sent the second plate back too.. Just to receive the 3 rd plate.. Which was still bad.. But better than the 1st 2.. I have put the picof the rd plate.. Looking at it.. We did not eat onions.. And for a person who loves to eat alot of onions whiles eating Indian food.. It was a totall let down..<br/><br/>The rest of the dinner was okies.. Nothing to brag about..<br/><br/>The only thing that I really liked and the reason I have given them a 2.5 is the dates filled with gulkhand.. Totally loved them.. Went there just to try their Fish Thali, and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Girish Ranche Ghar Serves one of the best fish Thali in and around South Goa. The Thali comes with 6-7 side dishes including the desserts & a decent size King fish RavaFry. In 4 day long trip to Goa, this was the only place where I got satisfactory food. Ordered Chicken crispy and king fish as starters. It was awesome. Yummy. Being Maharashtrian we had different food expectations, this place was upto the mark for me.

Located in the relatively peaceful part of Borda, this is truly one gem of a resto. I'm intrigued by the pebble glass tables. Staff is very helpful. <br/>Amazing fish thali. It's so well thought out and includes amidst the usual stuff, two slices of naan, a medley of fruits and gulab jamun. One of the best places to have Fish thali in South Goa. Great ambience and very polite staff. Clean and hygienic. <br/>Serving time is fairly decent. It's a very good family restaurant if you are up just for a casual dinner/lunch. It's affordable.The only bad part is that,There is no parking space at all.

At one of my family outings, my family and me decided to visit this restaurant, which has been there for a couple of years now. My family's and my interest does differ, as they were interested in having thali and I was interested in tasting either their Goan or Indian specialities apart from the thali. We didn't order anything other than water to quench our thirst or even to create an appetite for our meal. For starters we ordered for a couple of chicken tikkas (since we ordered for two chicken tikkas, the taste in both of them did vary. They varied in some of the chicken pieces being over cooked and some of the them being cooked well). For the main course we ordered the chicken thali, seafood thali, fish thali, paneer manchurian (dry) and cheese garlic naan (the thali were well prepared and tasted awesomely delicious. Even the paneer manchurian dry along with cheese garlic naan was tasty). Since we were full with the starters and main course, we decided to not have anything. Also on that day, they only had ice creams as desserts. My overall experience at this place was good and the service was prompt. The pricing is on par with other places offering a similar or the same cuisine. I would surely visit them again to try their other Goan and Indian dishes, so as to either make this place as my go to place for good food or not. My review would be complete post my next visit.

One of the best places in Goa to try Fish Thali.. Simply delicious... Tried the Special Fish Thali and was not disappointed at all. The Mussels cooked with coconut gravy were amazing and so were all the other curries in the Thali.. They served two veg dishes, gulabjamun, Solkadi, fruit salad, mussels, kismur, fried fish, roti and rice. A complete meal! Worth visiting again and again.

A very famous place situated in Margao, suggested by a friend. We had the Special Goan Fish Thali which was deliciously delicious!! Each and every item on this thali was worth a slurp. Went for lunch to try the special fish thali. The kingfish was fresh and very tasty. Curry was a bit disappointing a it was too light and lacked taste. The kismur too could have been better and the veggies were ok. Needs improvement

After reaching to Goa my first wish was to have Goan Fish Thali. My mom and dad suggested me to try out Girish Ranche Ghar, it is the very new restaurant opened near BM Service Centre, A.C. Pacheco Road, Borda. <br/><br/>The decor is simple and yet elegant with neutrals and wooden finishing. Menu is quiet vast but as I had decided first only that I wanted Thali. They have different seating options from which you can choose from. We chose regular table and chair seating near window. Only problem is with parking as it doesn't have much space, but as it is in bit interior side you can park by the road. <br/><br/>What We Tried There:<br/><br/>Fresh Pineapple Juice<br/><br/>Special Fish Thali<br/><br/>Goan Fish Thali<br/><br/>Jhinga Nezommi<br/><br/>Summers in Goa are very exhausting and dehydrating, I ordered Pineapple juice to keep myself fresh. They had added some pepper which gave it tangy flavor which was really amazing. And I loved the quantity.<br/><br/>Special Fish Thali is what myself and my mom ordered because it had Kingfish my favorite fish. It had Roti, Rice bowl, Shellfish (Tisriyo) dry masala, Green peas masala, Muli (Reddish) ki BhajiPrawns ( Jhinga/Sungta) Curry with bhindi ( Traditional Goan curry which always have ladyfinger ), Kismoor ( Dried small prawns - traditional goan chutney or salad you can call it), Raw mango achar, Salad, SorKaddi. <br/><br/>I was suprised to see Gulab Jamun and Fruits in that Thali. It was first time I saw thali served with it. It had really good quantity and very tasty. <br/><br/>Goan Fish Thali also had the same items except it had Modso in place of Kingfish. <br/><br/>And I needed something extra so we ordered Jhinga Nezommi, it was well marinated with spices and curd to the perfection and grilled amazingly. It was served with green mint chutney and salad. It was so yummy and delicious. It is #MustHave dish. <br/><br/>P.S: If you are not a seafood lover then I won't recommend Thali as it consist everything of seafood. And If you eat specific seafood then i'll suggest you to ask the waiter which fishes are being served on that day. Good place for a meal. There is parking place and its very spacious. Nice to have family parties. The food is authentic specially Goan stuff. I would recommend a Goan fare. Whether a thali or simple rice,curry n fish to go along. The drinks served are chilled properly n affordable. What i love drinking is the simple lime soda. It is a spacious restaurant. Nice ambience and a good experience ..... Good food and hospitality ...Quick service as well .. The Chicken Manchow soup was the best.......

Good beautiful interiors and ambiance. i went on 16/6/16 with the nearby coupon . Service was good and with regards to food manchow chicken Soup was okay not that great. Snacks panner chilli and veg crispy was  good but the quantity is not that good compared to the rates in menu. Chicken tandoori is best and was so soft and juicy with perfectly spiced also chicken tikka was good. for the main course we had ordered Butter chicken , zeera rice, mutton biryani and all the items were tasty and cooked to perfection. only drawback should be pricing which looks on the higher side.

Nice place to get some good food and drinks and very reasonable prices. Vegetarian meal for 3 which included 3 starters, mocktails and dal roti costed 1200. Taste was great and so was the hospitality...see you again.

Hearing good me & family along with a friend n family entered the restaurant at around 9 pm on 24th April 2016. Having served the starters within reasonable time, we ordered for main course and as nothing was coming up over an hour we started reminding the waiter. Ultimately waiter bought in two dishes along with roti and surprisingly order was not matching what we had asked for. Instead of chicken dish he had delivered veg item. Getting a doubt at first instance I asked waiter and he confidentiality replied its chicken. As we started taking it on plate we realised its just cauliflower n other vegetables coming out if pot n no chicken. Second time waiter realised the mistake and took it away and mentioned of getting replacement. It was nearing 11 pm. I had already lost the patience and asked him to call the manager. Lost the interest in eating the chicken too, I rejected what he bought and again insisted manager to come in. Till I insisted no senior guy or manager had courtesy to come and apologige for the delays and mistakes they were making. One guy ultimately came in and accepted the mistake they did. Again he didnt even attempt to introduce himself. I understood from cashier his name is Shetty and he is the owner. <br/>Poorly managed restaurant. Sad state of affairs.<br/>Be careful veggies...imagine if you are delivered non veg againt ur veg orders.

Fantastic place with utmost ambiance and hospitality. The roof at top is low heighted though but overall it's a nice place. Awesome place for a causal dinner.<br/>UPDATE: After my first visit my last three visits were horrible here very bad service not good taste of food and also mannerless waiters, do not speak politely with customers.<br/>I would have given zero stars to this place..

Classic interiors, fresh appearance.parking might be one of your problems, but can be managed. You wont be dissapointed by the food; food preparation is praiseworthy. Over and all a satisfying experience.

a relatively new place in margao... decent ambience...i prefer ordering the food home though...<br/>the food quality is good...have mostly tried their veg food.. the fish is also alrite...it wld be good if the fish was fresher...nothing to complaint though..<br/>A good option if your looking for Indian food in Margao..
