Review Taj Mahal Tea House - Mumbai

Manasa
What a lovely spot to have a cup of tea!!! This place has been on my list for a long time and I was glad to have visited it at last. The Tea House is literally a private residence where only the ground floor is the eatery. In keeping with the theme of the Taj Mahal Tea the decor is white and blue on the outside. The ambiance inside the cafe resonates vintage Indian settings with pretty wall art and slow classical music serenading us all. Of course, their curated menu comes a variety of teas and other beverages and food that blends well the drinks. The staff is friendly and will offer their guidance if you need help with your order. It is a place worth your money and time.

I’ve given a few 5 star reviews before, but Taj Mahal Tea House has proven to me what a 5 star experience can truly be. The tea and food were all fantastic. We visited twice, and had a great experience at both breakfast and high tea. I have to say that the service is where the experience became exceptional. I loved one of the teas that the shop does not normally sell. The owner went far out of his way to help to procure some of the tea from the market for me to take back home. I hope my next visit to Mumbai comes soon, so I may again visit this wonderful tea house!

This was an accidental find when we were looking for tea to purchase as presents. It's the cutest little cafe in a quiet Bandra area. Nice alternative to a coffee shop with elevated tea, coffee and food options.

I especially liked the triple decker egg sandwich! It had fried egg, egg salad, and egg frittata with chutney. So tasty. Nice shortbread cookies too.

Lovely place with artistic flavour. The number of tea flavour available are quite rare. The tea is lovely but the quantity is very high . Not sure if one can consume that . You need to be a complete tea person to enjoy that.

I love the interiors of the tea parlour, the ambience and laid back cafe feeling here. Besides the food and the place, it is the smiling staff which make the experience better. What's more I had forgotten my sunglasses about 20 days ago. I searched high and low at every possible place. And on a hunch or a lark just called up to check if they had found them. And as luck would have it ... they had. With all honesty the staff member who had found it kept it safely. Appreciation and thanks are naturally in order. Thank you Taj Tea House staff .

Sometimes, all you need is a good book and warm cup of chai. Taj Mahal Tea House is classy and welcoming . The blue and white facade, the warm interiors, the individualistic seating corners, well curated menu of teas and soft old world music (sitar) make this a place where time melts away. So precious in todays fast and furious world. It has a vast selection of tea concoctions, and all preparations were fresh. The tea house needs to be experienced.

We went there today morning for breakfast post a long run. To begin with as you enter the ambience is so cosy & relaxing. You get the feeling of being in a luxury apartment. Their breakfast menu is vast with a lot of recommendations by the staff. We had the pesto scrambled eggs on toast, the cheela oats wrap omelette and the Akruti on toast. Ofcourse followed by their French press. We had an amazing experience & only have praises for the hospitality, service, ambience and the quality of the meal. Definitely a must visit next time you are in bandra. Don't forget to try out their special teas.

I usually don't write reviews but for Taj Mahal Tea House I just had to. It's one of the most beautiful cafes in town. Huddled in a quaint, Parsi bungalow, this tea house feels like grandma's home. Love its tiny, cozy, pretty corners. It has a glamorous list of tea, good food and a great staff.

Having tea should not be a forced experience but a luxury. The perfect setting for you to enjoy the different blends of tea with your loved ones.

Ambience is great and a very cosy comfortable feel while dining. Great positive vibe! Service is good, though at times it could be a tad slow, that’s excusable. Food - below average.... didn’t relish any of the dishes, be it Akuri on masala toast, eggs kejriwal or the bread Upma. Would visit again only if I have guests to Mumbai for them to tick mark the visit in their bucket list!

words can't define some experiences....just one word in all "Amazing" experience a must visit always ....

Wahhh taj kind of place. With variety of chai options from all over the world, its surely a paradise for tea lovers
Food was not good and was taken back by the staff

When you walk into this teahouse, it feels like you have entered into someone’s home. The décor is mostly blue and white, but with a slight colonial hangover. There is plenty of light wooden furniture, including some beautiful cane chairs, and pretty flowerpots on each marble tabletop. Even the crockery is shades of pretty ceramic blue. The tea room is unlike any other and their menu includes various teas and snacks, even a few tea-infused dishes. Most of the teas are Indian teas and, unlike most teahouses, the menu is not just nibbles but also includes a lunch and dinner menu.

Best place for all the chai lovers. The decor is very artistic and elegant. It gives you a feeling of Portuguese villa. Everything is in blue and white. You can enjoy your breakfast or high tea here. Visited this place for breakfast. I had ordered their egg kejriwal and bold spices tea. The portion size is really very small as compared to price. It’s basically an egg which baked in an onion ring topped with cheese and served on a half slice of bread. It was good though but very less. The tea was amazing and was served with small cookies. It was very refreshing and full of flavor. Service is very slow. Something is wrong with the staff. Either they are very confused or least bothered. I had visited this place on a week day for breakfast and it was pretty empty but still the staff were lost. They have packed tea packets for sale. Incase if you like any particular blend , you have can buy it there. Will surely visit this place again and will hope for a better service.

Undoubtedly the best place for chai and snacks in Bandra! My favourite place for a quick cuppa with snacks, especially during early mornings or late nights.

As the name suggest it's a great place for tea.. not only that we enjoyed a morning classical music concert and later had amazing food complimenting with tea! The best Sunday spent... Tea, Brunch... Music, friends..

What would be better than a cafe that serves a gazillion kinds of tea for you to sip on all day long? Taj Mahal Tea House is an old-school Indian tea cafe that is as blissful as it can get. With its soothing and soft yellow lights, calming classical (Indian) music, and the scent of freshly prepared tea in the air, this vintage cafe is a tea lover's paradise. They have a great selection of books to choose from for you to read while sipping on your favourite cup of chai. One of their best offerings, the tropical matcha iced tea smoothie will give you a rush of flavours when you glide it down your throat. It's simply refreshing. You'll finish it before you know it! With just the right ambience, Taj Mahal Tea House is the ideal place to be at on a cold - sunny Sunday afternoon.

One of my favourite places to go. The place is aesthetically and beautifully designed with comfortable seating. You can sip on some of you favourite tea while working or reading a book.

They offer umpteen varieties of tea. One can also go for tea platter option in both veg/non veg which comes with savouries.

A must visit if you’re a tea lover like me and even otherwise because they also serve some amazing snacks.

Very Disappointed with the food. Paneer sandwich was tasteless with wilted greens n kashmir saffron cake was dry n hard with very average Cinnamon tea from their winter menu. Overall the experience was pathetic. Please change your Chef and have a new menu.

Visited the Taj Mahal tea house over the weekend , it is located at reclamation Bandra .
The place has a combination of white and blue for interiors along with matching cutlery .
We went there for lunch and the ambience for great , soft music playing in the background along with delicious fragrance of cookies and coffee.
We ordered:
Vegetarian Tortellini served with spicy Coulis.
It was extremely tasty and combination is indian and Italian flavours , the quantity for the price was generous and can be shared by two people without any compromise on the appetite .
I really recommend this place to anyone who want so spend a great time , this cafe has a retro feel to it along with amazing food combinations .
Don’t miss out on the Winter menu .
Food : 5/5
Service : 5/5
Price : 4/5

If you're my friend, chances are that I've taken you to Taj Mahal Tea House! :)
I love the place, it has great ambience, and it instantly uplifts my mood. I visit often to relax, catch up with friends. Everything is great, but I do think that food is a tad overpriced and the portion sizes are negligible. They make interesting fusion food, but the small portion size for food is bound to annoy anyone, especially a loyal visitor like me!

This place gives nice cozy boutique feel enjoying conversation with tea.

They have wide varieties of flavoured tea.
We loved the Karippatta Tea which is made with leaves, red chillies, white pepper powder, cumin and tea leaves served with milk.

Must try some unique variety of Tea served with cookies and some snacks on their menu.
Taj Mahal Tea House has beautiful aesthetics giving vintage vibes with courteous staff

Ambiance and Service is just amazing.
Best Brun Maska I have ever had was at @tajmahalteahousemumbai .

The Apricot Jam served with it was Homemade and amazingly delicious.

I normally don't prefer butter over any kind of bread, but loved the same there.Definitely a bit high on the pocket but worth the cost.
They have some amazing variety of teas.

Have been here only once and I totally fell in love with its vibe. The ambiance and decor is very pleasing to the eyes. And the classical instrumental music played is so soothing. Food here is outstanding. We had had a summer special Salad ( I cant recollect the name ) and a cooler + Assam tea. Its the right place to curl up in a chair with a book in hand where could spend hours !

A beautiful place with a vintage ambience, this place is a must visit for all those who love authentic tea. You'll get a quite positive vibe at this place.

The standards of the Tea matched my expectations, the tea was perfectly cooked with a perfect blend of all required flavours.
(Taste Rating: 10/10)

We also tried- their Light tea platter vegetarian
(Taste Rating: 7/10)
Cheese glazed sabudana doughnuts, smoked paneer English muffin and chilli cheese croissant.
- Selection of vegetarian savoury bites to enjoy your tea during this festive winter.

Even the desserts in the Winter menu were quite unique and appetizing.
(Taste Rating: 8.5/10)

There could have been more variety of appetizers in the winter menu. But you can try out their normal menu for more options.

If it's called Tea House, it has to be the tea which needs to be perfect and it was!!

Absolutely matching "Meri wali chai" standard ....amazing spread for breakfast for both vegan n non veg...

Must try egg Benedict, kejriwal sandwich and waffles... Keema Pao was amazing but lil complicated to eat ...

Interesting combo was oat stuffed cheela but wish it was little more spicy ...(for my taste bud, it was bland) While it had great options but they need some regular breakfast options too for people who don't believe in experimenting a lot, especially vegan.

Me non vegan had a lot to choose from! Overall great service and food..!!

1. Did get the table ready for more than 30 mins
2. Service took more than 20 mins
3. I got a terrible stomach flu after eating at the restaurant. :(

This place is characterstically located inside one of the old bungalows near reclamation. Love the detailing and corners built up to enhance the vintage look of the place. A sense of space prevails even when you visit during peak hours.

This place is a heaven for tea lovers though I personally love the menu selection for food. The hi tea platter which was scrumptious for a relaxed catch up stood out !
I also tried the saffron tea which was warm spiced and bold flavored.
The Apple crumble has the perfect flavor, not too sweet and not too mushy either. The vanilla icecream was classic and homemade as one could taste a generous splash of vanilla.

The staff was extremy courteous. One could help but notice how seamlessly they were chatting with the guests about the place, objectives and management.
A must visit place !

I like this place for the numerous options they have for teas however was very disappointed when I ordered for a high tea platter. the tea was nice but the food is definitely not worth the money on that platter it’s bite size and doesn’t even tastes good..

Cute place!

Well recommended for a relaxed afternoon. Good vibe, great music, excellent tea collection and good food. The mint and spice tea helped me keep my cold under wrap and that was a bonus. Didn’t expect the classical music-oriented theme and was really pleased. Some of the food items were decent, others were good. But this place is mostly for the chilled out vibe :-)

Situated in Bandra, this place is an absolute delight for tea lovers. There offer a wide range of teas with some delectable dishes. When I visited this place, I immediately fell in love with its ambience - Calm, welcoming and soothing. The staff was attentive and made sure their guests were well looked after. I tried their Parsi mint chai, which has turned out to be one of my favorites. I also tried their Cinnamon tea, which was ok as I am not a cinnamon fan. But I am sure it will b a hit amongst cinnamon lovers. A must visit place if you want to enjoy some good music and conversations over a cup of beautifully brewed tea.

I will say it's a heaven for chai lovers. A place in bandra west converted from a bunglow into a restaurant is a classy place for casual meetups and to get relaxed. A calm place with no loud music sound.

Ambience of this place is rich and you will feel warm. On entering you will see a vintage detailing in every work. I loved its aesthetic interior which is the attraction of the place. Chairs tables everything was so good and comfortable to seat.

I was very impressed by seeing the tea menu as they have an extensive menu for tea lovers and it's not restricted to only chai but have vide menu for food. Each sip of tea was refreshing. Every dish is best in it's own. Vessels are so attractive and you will get a rich feel to have your food in it.

I found their service good but it's quite difficult to find a table in peak hours.
It was a delightful experience and will love to visit again.

It's almost impossible to get a table here. The staff is confused and doesn't know how to prioritize. However, this is very obvious because of the hype created for the place.
Ambience 5/5
Food 3/5
Tea collection 5/5
Staff 3/5
Crowd 5/5
Music 5/5

Let me start with why 4 stars, while me and my friends had ordered the choice of our food and tea and were sitting waiting for our order, the manager at the restaurant asked us to shift tables because he wanted to join our table and accomodate another guest. After a person has given his order and it's been like 20 minutes that he has not received it yet, and inbetween you ask them to shift tables, it is very frustrating. Also, i would have not mind this situation if there were no other people he could have shifted. There were 2 men sitting next to the table we were shifted to who were sitting in a table of four. So instead of shifting us from one end of the restaurant to the other and then joining our tables, why didn't he asked the two men to shift to that table of two so that he could accommodate 4 people without 'joining' tables?! This was my first time at Taj Mahal tea house and i did not expect such a service given that it is a 5 star chain of restaurants. Coming to the food, I would recommend the people going there for the first time to order their high tea platter. It will give an experience of all their appitizers and it also includes any tea for two people. The entire platter is very filling for two. The food was good and so were the tea. The crowd at the place was extremely good but what else would you expect from such high prices. The vegetarian platter coated us ₹1300 including taxes.

I love this place to bits! Great classical music to go with the ambience, vibes, food, service and tea! Nothing not to love :-)!! And the staff knows their tea well. I really liked the winter tea with spices. And the almond croissant was heavvvenly! Go here, soon!

Well although I love the vibe of this place, it doesn't cut through the taste of tea served at various other places.
The uniqueness is the variety and fusion cuisine but it serves one of the smallest portions in the city. The tea is average not that great.
I tried:
1) Parsi Mint Tea - average
2) Orange blossom - average

Too many heart broken?

Simply loved the place, service and delicious food. Tried their Chicken Muligawtawny soup (super delicious), Kerala pepper chicken (yummm..), falafel chaat had chai chicken tikka... even the cookies are yum.. just loved the placed :)

This place should be renamed as Sheer Love. It's a heaven for any tea lover. Selection of tea is so huge that you'll have to reincarnate to try all. I love their hot and cold both versions of kahwa. Their masala and ginger tea will warm your heart like nothing else. Selection of food items are pretty experimental too with tea infused in everything. Try their mutton Keema in egg plant, it's intense.

Tried this vegetable tortillini and it was really amazing. Perfect way to spend your Sunday afternoon / brunch! Looking forward to try more new dishes at this place 😊
Taj Mahal Tea House is located in a quaint bungalow in Bandra, close to Lilavati Hospital. The interiors are well-done and lend a positive vibe to the place. There are several tea-related artefacts such as kettles and paintings on walls depicting the history of tea. There's also Indian things like a sitar and Zakir Hussain's tablas.

The food is delicious. Most of it is an Indo-western fusion. We got the House Special Sandwich (that was tasty), Idli Burger (which was great, although smaller portions), Arabic Falafel Chat with Tamarind Tulsi Foam (which wasn't bad, but was like an Aloo Tikki Chat with falafel balls), and Croissant Waffle (which comes with a side of chocolate sauce and tastes better than the rubber being served by most waffle chains). We also got the Sambar Risotto, which wasn't bad, but again, tasted more like sambar rice. But not bad at all. For dessert, we got the Chai Millefeuille and from the monsoon menu the Earl Grey Pannacotta with Raspberry Coulis and a Raspberry Mousse - both of which were delicious and unique in that they were tea-flavoured desserts!
All in all, the food was delicious, with decent portion sizes, and fairly priced. They have a nice range of teas, and serve them with crumbly cookies. And a lot of vegetarian options, and eggless desserts! They had an additional menu for the monsoons.

The place has valet parking, and opens at 7 AM. The staff is also very polite and hands on.

Teahouse at its best! From chai to coffee to food everything is so satisfying. The staff here is so friendly and kind, well the service is best too. Instaworthy interiors, cute corners, old good music and vintage/antique wall decor! You'll definitely fall in love with their experimental chai-coffee-desserts.

They included high tea in their menu
But have no idea what it means
I am a high tea lover and in Mumbai there are very less places where in you get high tea
Seeing this place's menu I decided to try it out
Firstly they have arranged the platter in the ketels in the wrong Order of food
Secondly the portions are extremely tiny
Thirdly nothing interesting in the platter
And lastly the the food was not that tasty
And being a tea house I din feel any aroma of the teas around neither in the teas which I ordered were great apart from just interesting name
This was just food
The ambiance was so overly done and the place is so crowded
The place is good but not worth the money one spend!
Overall it could be better with little learning and doing justice to what u add in the menu.

My sister and I decided to go to this place with our friends since we dint wanna have alcohol and just wanted to spend a nice evening and discover a new place. So glad that we chose this quaint little #tea house. The combination of the ambience and the food and drinks made the whole experience amazing.
We ordered the ragi vegetable #quiche, tea crusted salmon, chicken kebab #kashmiri saffron chai and a seasonal pear Marquise dessert. Everything was flavourful and perfectly portioned. The dessert, however was a little disappointing since the pear flavour wasn't that prominent. On the other hand, the saffron tea won our hearts. It being a tea house, their teas (hot or cold) are exceptional.
Highly recommended if you want to spend a quite luxurious evening with some good food and #tea !!
Food - 4.5/5
Value for money - 5/5
Ambience -5/5

Full points for the interiors, decor and the very Bombay/Calcutta vibe. Could spend all day appreciating every corner so Instagram-worthy!

A little over-priced on the food bit but do try the Kashmiri Tea, the tower of snacks (ample for two) and Matcha coffee.

Located in Bandra, it is the prettiest place with aesthetic interiors. We went there for breakfast.Tried Kasundi Malai Paneer Salad and Darjeeling 2nd Flush organic tea.

Talking about salad, it was amazingggggg to start the day with. With all the veggies and crispy idlis it tasted way too good with the chutney served along with it.

Amongst their various range of tea, the Darjeeling tea had a rich taste with strong and bold aroma. One can also add milk for a delightful taste. They also have packages of different categories of tea for sale purpose.

We absolutely loved the place. Giving it a thumbs up 👍

Located at Reclamation, Taj Mahal Tea house is aesthetically beautiful and elegant. I loved the ambience, the aesthetics of the place and the overall look and feel. The service is quick although you might have to wait to get a table. The menu is extensive with different kinds of teas and also confectionaries.

Tried the Paan Khus as well as Rum & Raisin Bubble Tea, the presentation was on point as well as the flavours.

Overall, it's a great place to catch up with your friends over tea and would definitely visit it again!

Always preferring coffee to tea and tenaciously holding on to childhood notions of tea being my mum's drink and milk being mine, I somehow never ended up going to this tea house despite crossing it a zillion times and being somewhat enticed by the exterior.

I finally entered some time back, escaping the rain - and I was beyond pleased with what this lovely place has to offer. The interiors are gorgeous and took me by surprise! No wonder it forms part of Zomato's most "instagrammable" cafes. The music was soulful, the ambience welcoming - and there's a little boutique selling tea inside.

Coming to my order, I ordered the most outrageous thing on the menu as I do - a dessert chai named ginger spiced dessert chai. The chai was very, very good. It had a strong adrak flavour somehow blended perfectly with whipped cream (didn't taste too sweet like I was afraid it would). The cookies served as accompaniments were delicious too.

Will definitely revisit. :)

Taj Mahal Tea House was on my bowl list since it's inception and a visit to this lovely place was finally made! We went here for a small independence day classical music program and enjoyed it thoroughly! Do keep checking their space for more such events!

Post the Lovely session, we tried a few items from their monsoon menu! The Ajwain mint tea was a blessing: the coolness and the sharp masala taste hit the tastebuds well! The monsoon kadha was also one true love!

In food, we tried the monsoon platter! The taste though good, the portions are small: it is therefore better to have food items from their general menu!

The desserts are love at first sight and recommended!

Loved the place overall! Service might seem a little slow at times though, they are however attentive!

Surely one of the best lavish tea spots in city!♥️♥️

The prices lie very similar to other famous tea chains in city and therefore if not cheap, this place isn't either an expensive experience!

Absolutely love the place, have been going here for years and feeling right at home. However, was disappointed on my last visit, as their menu and prices have changed after the anniversary with no substantial difference to quantity.

My tea pot (standard order) has a hike of almost 50% and the server said it’s because they’ve increased the quantity of the tea, but I felt the quantity to almost the same.

A wonderful alternative for a lazy afternoon. Helpful and attentive staff, impeccable hygiene at the restaurant (so important) and delicious food. Must visit!!!!

Like the listing of Zomato states, Taj Tea House may just be the most instagrammable cafes in Mumbai! We love coming here time and again, not just for the variety of teas they offer but also for interesting food items!

Taj Mahal is a good place for all tea lovers. You get various kinds of tea's and they are mainly all handpicked and natural.
The ambience is warm. Its a good me time place where one can have their tea and read books. It looks little ancient style and is a warm place.
The place is very expensive, but I think it is worth the experience as its not the tea that matters its the experience that does.

Extremely cute and perfect for dates as well as meetings! Their selection of tea is ofcourse massive but alot of items are not available at all times. The ambience is perfect and staff is extremely friendly. The only reason this is getting 4 instead of 5 stars is because the food and desserts is not exceptional. But overall love the vibe!

Vishal was highly attentive. Friendly environment. Perfect place even to just come with a book and chill over a cup of tea. Good crowd cozy place and ambience. The nonveg platter is superb and very filling. Jasmine tea was as described and so was the saffron tea 👍🏻

Taj Mahal Tea House is the place to have the finest Tea which is specially handpicked from the Tea Gardens from Assam & Darjeeling which tastes heavenly.....
I went there to spend sometime with my friend over a cup of Tea and was amazed by the preparation of their Tea.
We ordered one Herbal Chai which was prepared with special brew of Tulsi, lemongrass and ginger with hints of Khush & Milky Chai called Monsoon Mellow which was prepared by Assam house blend infused with warm hint of Cardamom, Cloves, Ginger & Honey.
We also ordered Corn Shorba from their Special Monsoon Menu and in the main course we ordered Malai Silken Tofu with Vegetable stir fry & Vegetable Tortellini with a spicy coulis.
For dessert we ordered a Fruit Platter & Mango Extravaganza.
Enjoyed everything with the soft Indian music and the great hospitality.
The place is really awesome to meet friends or to have some small business conversations.
I loved the vintage style interiors and the blue & white coloured theme.

Tiqri in taj Santacruz is a class apart & a legendary place which needs no review nor any publicity. This place has won my heart in such a way that it tops my list of must visit place .the food here is genuinely made by some of the best chefs & I have always been the fan of dishes made the original way .hate the fake trend of fusion food these days .over all a good meal & attentive service.

Rains bina chai is so suna suna right?
A well prepared cup of tea on a rainy day is exactly what you need to enjoy the Mumbai rains. And since it has been incessantly raining here, we definitely need some extra dose of special tea to enjoy the weather. So, I along with a friend paid a visit to the Taj Mahal Tea House to try out their Monsoon Menu.

The artefacts, crockery and the aesthetic of the place give you such a royal feel.
The staff is efficient & courteous.
The Food is absolutely fantastic.
And for Tea Enthusiast this place is a gold mine!

We had specifically gone for the Monsoon Menu which consists of Soups, Nibbles, Dessert and Beverages. The Main Menu needless to say is vast & offers a wide choice of beverages, Breakfast Specials and All Day Tea Pairings.

What we ordered -

Monsoon Mellow – The finest of Assam Tea with hints of cardamom, cloves, ginger and honey. So reinvigorating.

Corn Shorba – Slightly Spicy & full of flavours.

Malai Silken Tofu with Vegetable Stir Fry – Melt in mouth Tofu drizzled with creamy cashew nut gravy, paired with stir fried pokchoy, mushroom & spring onions. YUM!

Vegetable Tortellini with a spicy Coulis had an interesting blend of flavours. It well cooked pasta stuffed with red amaranth, aubergine & cottage cheese spiced up with rich tomato sauce.

Mango Extravaganza – If you love mangoes then you must try this. Chocolate spheres filled with fresh mango, mango ice cream and mawa lime cake, served with mango coulis and meringue.

If in & around Bandra, this place is definitely worth a visit.

One of the best places for any occasion, be it a catch-up with relatives over 'tea' ;) or just peace time with your favourite book. Loved their staff who recommends you the best one from their great expanse of tea options. Also, they have interesting snacks option to go with wherein we tried the high tea with all options in one tower.

A cute little place located at Bandra. The decor is just beautiful, Loved the Triple Deck Egg Sandwich & Chicken ‘Chai’ Kebabs. Must try! 🤗

Thanks to a dear friend who told me about this hidden away gem at Bandra, I went with family to have a light birthday lunch. Absolutely delighted with Taj Mahal Tea House. The place has been done up so refreshingly differently, retaining the old world charm of a wonderful Bandra bungalow. The artefacts, the rooms and niches, the tables and chairs, the crockery...all together create a charm that is so difficult to experience in Mumbai restaurants and cafes that opt for the sleek and contemporary look that end up seeming lifeless and cold. Taj Mahal, on the other hand, is warm and welcoming; you might almost believe you are going to your favourite aunts family home for tea and snacks.

We had lemon grass tea, filter coffee, and Toddy Soup with Dumplings (good dumplings, bad soup), and savoured Kasundi Malai paneer Salad (delicious!), Paneer and Spearmint Samosa (must try!), Chicken Stew With Orange flavoured rice (mild but so so flavour-filled), Monsoon Doughnuts ( perfect little pillows of crisp dough on the outside, and soft and yummy on the inside), and a unique Chai Mille Feuille (excellently flaky pastry)

If you want to get in out of the rain, and spend a couple of hours in a charming setting with good food, this is certainly the place to trot to.

A nice cozy place to have a sip of tea and long conversations

Location - It is located just 10 mins away from Bandra Station West

Food - We went here just to have some Tea and have good conversations

Items ordered
1. Jaipur Royal Tea
2. Neembu Pudhina Cooler

The Royal Tea absolutely gave a royal feeling and tasted really good. There are a lot of options on the food menu as well and can be explored along with the Teas. They also offered free cookies along with Tea
(Rating - 4/5)

Ambience - This is the best thing about this place. It is quite a huge place for a tea shop and hence a good place for a small group of friend to go and have a good conversation. The tables are very neatly arranged and give a cozy feeling.
(Rating - 5/5)

Service - Quite good (Rating - 5/5)

FoodieTip - Do visit the place for small conversations along with friends while sipping cups of tea

If you are looking for a nice relaxed coffee/tea shop. Look no further. Love the vibe of this place. The service is top notch and the menu is extremely vast.
I had a chilled green tea similar to a mojito and also the white tea. Both were super.
They also have quite a few food items and I would definitely visit them again for those.
When I went there I started looking for parking but they do have a valet which most of the other places don't.
Must visit. This place opens early morning so would like to visit for breakfast too.

This quaint, Parisien kinda cafe with a grandparents house kinda feel; is located in the by lane of Reclamation at a short distance from Nut cracker and Bungalow 9. Been one of my fav places to relax for a guilt free reading time, Taj Tea House has won my heart.

Interiors - Having an outdoor seating with white wrought iron tables and chairs; the blue door opens into something that makes you feel back at home! Cozy cushions, laid back rocking chairs and tables chairs - some graced with chess boards or books or even newspapers at corners; the place makes you feel at home! They even have the Zakir Hussain tabla at display! - refer name!

Beverages - Being a HUL brand, you can accept nothing less than great here. Having over 30 kinds of teas and few coffee and other beverages; the menu ranges from milk based to water based teas and other drinks. My favourite drink here is the White tea known for its upteen benefits; it is served in a teapot here ideal for 2 cups. The waiters come themselves and allow the tea to brew and thereafter serve in your cup.
Other favorites include the hibiscus tea and the kahwa.

Food - They have a separate section where they sell bakery items and teas for home use over and above their menu. Bakery items purchase from there can be served at the cafe on request too. I believe the place is vegetarian / only serving egg based on the dishes I’ve tried. The samosas, eggs benedict and the almond date orange / mawa cake are my favs!

Price - Food I believe is priced Slightly on the higher side, but ideal for the tea pots which are usually around 200-300 which covers 2-3 cups easily! Hot beverages are usually served with their freshly baked cookies which are delish!!

Verdict - HUL truly lives up to its name with this quaint cafe which is packed everyday of the week. Known for its wide variety of teas, Taj will always be a perfect spot for Indians who are mainly tea lovers!
The books, homely vibe further adds to its appeal.
However, would love to have a few more coffee varieties.

Lovely ambience, the feel the music the seating the view everything is perfect... but the tea coffee is below average. We visited this place last weekend at around 4-4:30pm. Ordered tea, cold coffee & beer. So tea was okay, cold coffee was not cold and beer again was not cold. Really disappointed with Taj this time. Hope you guys take this seriously, because the vibes were just perfect... but beverages were not.

Lovely ambience, good food and great tea! Service is pretty good and prices a tad steep. A very relaxing atmosphere and they even customise your tea sometimes... they did a fresh ginger tea ( with milk) that was perfect!

This place had long been on my must visit list and today I finally got the chance to go here and it was an Absolute Delight! Loved the ambience, decor, food, and the service! We ordered for Parsi Mint Tea and Ginger Dessert Tea, Five Spices Chicken Sandwich, and Chai Cheesecake tart and everything was utterly delicious. One star less is only because I felt that the prices are a bit high but other than that no complaints at all!
Will definitely recommend this place for people who like elegance and class with their cup of tea!

Hibiscus and strawberry cold brew is a good supplement to stay calm in this summer. Try it if you are into ambiences and architectures. Worth a visit!

A great find in Bustling Bombay especially if you’re looking for a quiet and quaint place. The ambiance is superb! They’ve really put a lot of thought into setting up the place. The menu is vast and the portions are generous for sure. There are innumerable teas to select from of course. The mains tasted great. I had the vegetarian high tea and this is one that they could work on improving. The scones are tiny and there are more Indian snacks than finger sandwiches and other items that you would expect when you think high tea. Service is also a little lax and could improve. Hence the three star rating. But definitely worth visiting.

Eat with class. This is a purrfect place for a date. The decor is just beautiful, subtle charming. You know you are in Bandra. I was prepared to say food doesn’t have to be good, but then they got me my Aubergine lamb mince with cheese done the right way. The experience was hmm, aaah delightful. The salad for me which is a measure of how the chef can put ingredients together was executed fantastically. A Sambhar risotto **** for innovation. Will go again to eat their whole menu

This place is a hidden gem in the streets of Bandra. Decided to try every tea on menu in coming days. What I tried so far:
Malabari Vanilla Coconut Tea
Matcha Rose Tea
Both the teas were made to perfection with subtle flavours mentioned. Not much and not too less. Just perfectly made with your choice of adding sugar or not. Their in house cookies are awesome, I personally like the chocolate ones.
Ambience: 11/10 😎✌🏻
Service: 11/10 😀
Going to be my regular place 😊 MUST VISIT

What a delight this place. It's a paradise for tea lovers and suckers for good breakfast. I'm absolutely in love with their ambience their vibe. The food is delicious all the dishes were amazing. Do try their egg muffins and kahwa
Overall-5/5
Food- 4.5/5
Beverages-5/5
I loved this place! Vintage bungalow vibe = check! A mighty impressive collection of teas = check!
This seems like a place where people come to spend a couple of hours - so be prepared to wait for a table. They play Indian Classical Music at the place which makes it a quintessential Indian space with a throbbing ‘desi heart’. I enjoyed the Citrusy lemongrass drink I ordered (which they made sugar free upon request) but what really blew my mind were the Chicken Chai Kebabs. Mince meat kebabs covered in sesame & flaxseed (atleast that’s what it looked like). The meat was fresh, juicy & the presentation was simply lovely. Each bite was exquisite! I may specially return here just to re-order that dish!! I just wish I’d come here on a day it wasn’t so crowded.

Awesome ambience, must visit easy chill kinda of place. Go there for a casual date, or a casual chai peace gupshup with a friend. Food is decent... And the coffee... Well it's a tea house :) . I'm giving it 5 stars for the overall experience, not the food.

We had ordered a Veg Platter with a beverage..the tiny bite sized savoury items tasted good..the desserts were not bad..I am sure they were painstakingly made as it's difficult to go about making everything Lilliputian size..but what I loved the most was the ambiance..every peice of furniture was so sophisticated and well placed and had elegant touch to it. Overall nice place to spend time for lazy breakfast,laid-back lunch or teatime to dinner.

Taj Mahal Tea House recreates the legacy of Excellence in Traditional Tea Making, Offering a plethora of teas that inspires every sense of Hindustani flavours.
The place offers in house prepared tea blends with sweet and savoury light snacks.

Recommended to try the following Teas.

Bold Spice Tea: As unique as it is vivid, this tea has ingredients like pepper, which combines naturally with the heady woodiness and warmth of Cardamon, Cloves, Cinnamon and Ginger.

Kulfi Dessert Chai: Makes one feel Sweet taste in the mouth with the fiery aftertaste, infused with a delicious kulfi flavour and topped with Pista and rich thick Cream.

Great Tea, Snacks and Tranquil place. This is hidden gem in Bandra. Gives you the feel of a lovely Parsi Bungalow, lovely food and Variety of Teas. it’s a bit pricey on the wallet but good for a self indulgence. Order their Pot tea it’s economical . Parsi Mint tea is my favourite . Pro tip: Only place open for breakfast at 8 am

A beautifully done place with fantastic food and amazing chai. Can't go wrong with this! Super cosy ambience.

We tried the unique baked Iranian omelette. Fantastic preparation. Kudos to the chef.

Apart from that we had the chicken stew and chicken salad. Both great.

For Breakfast do go for the crepes.

The tea is quite unbeatable. This place is a treat, for the taste buds and the eyes.

The place is simply amazing, loved its interior, scattered with a bit of different corner.. ambiance, item in the menu is well crafted and the interior is so ambrosial that I didn’t realised the time I spent. I came for the dinner at 8.40 and left at 12.00 pm...but the best time to come to this place is for an high tea time that’s 4pm-7pm. the Kashmiri saffron tea is a must try and for the chocolate lover Choco desert chai. Staff is friendly ,could help with the choice of special tea. Stressed people take out some time to come down at this place as am sure it’s worth your time

This was my second time at Taj Mahal Tea house and I walked out happy again! If you want to spend your Sunday morning at a quaint café sipping on some special chai along with some nibbles or a heavy breakfast, while enjoying some subtle Indian classical music , then this is the place for you!
We ordered the Sulemani Tea and Bold Spices tea. Each of them were made to the finest. The aroma of the two teas got me hooked!!
For breakfast we ordered Ragi Masala Dhokla, Kejriwal Eggs on toast and the Butter chicken sandwich.
Cooked to perfection and filled with spices, each of them were worth the money and just about the right quantity.

Overall,

Food : 4/5
Beverages : 5/5
Ambience : 5/5
Service : 5/5
Value for money : 4/5
Amazing place to chill alone and spend time with yourself.
The staff were really courteous and polite. Their service delivery was amazing and also their Kashmiri Saffron tea is must try tea for tea lovers .

I was randomly passing through the area and came across this beautiful villa turned café. I love the Portuguese architecture and that Blue colour, the interiors were beautiful too.
Coming to the menu, there were a lot of creative items that had a hint of Indian in them, they all sound great but I do feel that they should add some safe options on the menu as well.
We ordered the Non-veg High tea Platter with a coconut milk tea.
The Platter was nothing like I expected it to be. I didn't expect mini versions of food. I was looking forward to eating regular sized scones with proper clotted cream and jam. Most of the savory items were dry, the meat was dry, flavours didn't come through. The sweet items were a little too sweet for my liking and the mini scones were a joke.
The coconut milk tea was good, sweet because of the coconut.
I wish that this tea house would also have the option of proper High Tea Platter with finger sandwiches, fruit tarts and regularly sized scones.
Staff was courteous and friendly. However, not very attentive.

I hope to visit soon!

Thank you Taj Mahal Tea House
Tried Mocha chai which was a blend of tea and chocolate, not great but can try once. Parsi mint tea was good, had a nice flavour of mint and lemongrass. Kulfi chai was not as amazing as we imagined it to be. You can try it once.

All the food we had was good, paneer samosa, saffron tea cake and the Pesto wrap.

Planning to try the tea platter next time 😃

The staff was warm and helpful.
Kashmir known as “The last Shangri-La” is one of the most beautiful places that one could have walked the face on earth. It’s astonishing beauty, culture and people are the most attractive features of the region. For me, Kashmir is synonymous with “Kahwa” and you will agree to the same once you experience this Kashmiri delight.

I sipped the world famous “Kashmiri Qhawah Tea” at Taj Mahal Tea House. The experience was mind blowing!!! I never drank anything like that before. The tea was as attractive as the valley, and every sip of it combined the cultural element of Kashmir in it. You will always crave for this tea the moment have a sip of it.

The first taste exuded the mild characteristic traits of Nilgiri. Immediately following the Nilgiri, I was greeted by the spiciness of the cardamom. The sweet taste of cinnamon formed the middle and Kashmiri Kahwa finished with the combined flavors of cinnamon and almond. The nutty flavor of the almond was difficult to ascertain initially yet presented itself later in the cup as Kashmiri Kahwa began to cool.

A must try Tea if you happen to visit this place.

Wonderful place with one of the finest teas I have ever tasted with a wide variety of teas available to cater to all kinds of tastes. A heaven for tea lovers!
