Review Hakkasan - Mumbai

AG
Wanted to visit this place for long. It is certainly a fine dine place with attention paid to details. The ambience is dim but soothing, no loud music, staff is very polite (Kulwinder our table lead was very good) and food is good too (pricy as you can expect). It’s a complete package for that special occasion and worth a visit. The chocolate delice was amazing.

The menu is large and can be a bit confusing. The food is very delicious though. The quantity of food looks less but it was more than enough. The toilets were clean. No service charge since you have to go to the kitchen and order the food. Overall a nice place to have some lunch.

As part of a business dinner, we enjoyed very tasty cocktails and drinks as well as a delicious Cantonese Dinner. Though looking rather normal from the outside, the interior is beautiful and the staff has been very attentive!

It's a great restaurant to go for. Fodd is delicious and presentation is quite really good. We've ordered many new dishes and we found it to be a good decision to try it out. Service is also good.

Hidden gem for breakfast and lunch in Mumbai City . Excellent food, lunch , abundant salad buffet, 2 choices for a main dish. Tested vegetarian dish , which was excellent. Great chef and excellent price and quality ratio. Cosy restaurant facilities.

My favourite restaurant. I visited 3 times and the food was excellent. Pancakes are my favourite here. I tried 'Lamb'orghini burger and it was awesome. I also tried 'honey Mustard Chicken' and I liked it. I also tried 'Peach Iced Tea' and I definitely suggest you. Coffee is also good. French fries are also not like the regular ones you get in all restaurants.

Restaurant has good ambience and attentive staff. Food is very good. Chefs are definitely doing a good job. Only problem I felt that they are bit pushy in service. They literally tried us to finish our starters fast, so that , he can bring the main course. Which I have never experienced before. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My experience-

>Quality - 4/5

>Taste -4 /5

>Ambience - 4/5

>Cost - /5

>Value worth for money -3.5 /5

>Overall experience -4 /5

...............................................

OUR INSTA ID : @tastyfiesta_

Enjoy eating and follow us for more reviews:)

The apple and vanilla creme brulee at Hakkasan is really delicious. it's served with a scoop of apple sorbet. The creme brulee will definitely send you into a food coma. The blueberry and chocolate cheesecakes at hakkassan are also absolutely amazing. They're soft, creamy and come with a delicious scoop of vanilla icecream or mango sorbet.
Price: ₹500

We also tried their duck and chicken pattice and dumplings which were really delicious.

They have an option of opting for a complete meal which involves starters, main course, drinks, tea, soup and dessert for a very reasonable price and the portion size is quite good too. Must try!!!

The chic understated elegance that this fine-dining Michelin star restaurant stands for, is matched by its menu offerings of modern Cantonese food. The swish long blue bar with bartenders adeptly creating unique cocktails makes for a fascinating spectacle. The bespoke teas, especially the 'Strawberry and Champagne', is a must-have. For dessert, the 'Chocolate Raspberry Sphere', is a treat.
The Sunday Suppers
Crystal dumpling and Lotus Roll: The veg dim sums were the real winners. They had more texture, more crispiness, more layers. Were I to steer towards the metaphorical I'd tell you they were 3 dimensional when compared to the somewhat flat flavors of the seafood dim sums. We also ordered an edamame and truffle dim sum which came well recommended and was simply outstanding - an edamame bean paste with crunchy water chestnuts and a hint of truffle. Three-style mushroom stir fry: Brilliant. Just brilliant. Clean and simple assorted mushrooms and the macadamia nuts were a touch of genius. We also got ourselves a pot of Chinese tea, randomly pickly from their extensive menu - we were drawn by the 'orchid' description.

We had the Plum Blossom menu which was a set one for 1200+ taxes. It was worth the price. The food was Terrific. The Har gau and the sweet corn chicken soup was the best we had in ages. The staff were very courteous and our server Sheher was quite impressive. Will come back again soon 😍

Hakkasan for me is a name that is synonymous with gastronomical food. We visited Hakkasan on a weekday afternoon lunch with my uae guest and to my surprise, the restaurant was running full.
This place is famous for pan Asian especially the Cantonese cuisine.
Tasty take on chinese cuisine and very good service, special mention to Narendra (server) who was understanding to our expectations

What a brilliant restaurant that I took too long to visit. Fabulous service and food that is interesting but familiar. Hakkasan captures the best version of Cantonese food in Mumbai with flavours that you will feel compelled to share with your friends and family. Great place for all kinds of settings. Best to make a reservation prior, although the staff is lovely and accommodating.

fine dinning at its best - great ambience, service, food quality and pricing though expensive is worth it and the deserts are irresistible (normally I'm not a desert person)..
Shashank Kumar
Not worth the money, there are much more better restaurants in town catering the taste buds in a much better and economical way - check for Yauatcha which is much much better for the same cost!
Ratikant Raut
Hakkasan is situated at Linking road area is a great place to hang out with friends. Food is very scrumptious here and taking about the staff they are extremely cooperative . So if you are somewhere near bandra area go for it.
AK
For the price that Hakkasan Mumbai charges, the portions are wanting. Chefs should add another one fourth to the portions so that foodies may leave the pleasing ambiance without any longings. And, the less talk by the staff the better! Let them also not blame the "head office" or some such place which "places strict guidelines on the food and the servings"!
Shaurya Jha
Excellent place. Good food must try the classic dim sum platter. One of the best restaurants in Mumbai.Courteous staff. One of my favourite restaurants.Thank you team Hakkasan for very good service.
Pranav Modi
Good variety of wine. Perfectly Placed for friends get together or for family fine dine. Must try dim sums.
Ritu Shrimali
Had heard so much about this place but it didn’t live upto my expectation. Ambience was good but is was almost empty when we went for dinner. Staff who served us new or had no idea of the menu he was literally fumbling taking name of the dimsums while serving the platter. He couldn’t explain the dishes properly nor he could recommend when we requested. Food taste was big disappointment considering how much i have heard people raving about this place. Not worth the money there are far better places with way better food.
Shantanu
People might call it it a five star pan cuisine restra but i m very disappointed not so great options for vegetarians
They served mocktails n soup in gap of 5 sec
Food was really oily not tasty at all
They serve Schezwan sauce n paprika sauce( more like lal mirch k achar in western version)was only adding taste

The person at entry refused to give a table stating no availability but immediately we managed to reserve a table via zomato and get confirmation from restaurant rude lying staff disrespectful

One of the best places to have Cantonese and Chinese food. The ambience , staff , vibe everything of this place is just exceptional. You feel special from the moment you enter it's premises. The seating arrangements are good with dim lights. Now the food, The quality of the food is super. We ordered
Red monsoon in mocktails - the different flavors blended so beautifully.
Crispy tofu with szhecuan pepper and kashmiri chillies- it was ultra tasty. The tofu was soft from inside and crisp from outside. Having two peppers still the dish was not extra spicy. It was apt.
Four style vegetable stir fry in szhecuan sauce- it went well with the noodles.
Hakka noodles- one of the best noodles I have had.
I wanted to try the dim sums but being vegetarian, couldn't find any.
There are very few options for vegetarians here. Would suggest to include more.
Overall a great place to have Pan Asian cuisine with lovely service and hospitality.

The food was amazing. We had ordered :
1. Spicy prawns
2. Spicy chicken dumpling
As starters
Fried rice as the main course
And some dessert
The service and ambience was totally amazing.
Chaitanya Kulkarni
Blue lights in lift with overly smiling staff don't make you a 5* restaurant.

The food and drinks are good but the place is so damn noisy. So much kitchen noise it makes you think if it's a 5* place at all.

Before anyone calls you 5* please compare with legendary Taj and then look at your self.

Another utterly disappointing thing and low standard is 10% service charge does not suit such a place at all whatsoever.

Request the administration please grow up to their name and show maturity.
Preeti Khankhoje
The ambience and staff at Hakkasan was really good and helpful, our server for the night Kulwinder Singh made really great suggestions. All the drinks and the main course were delicious!
Neha Rankawat
We went for their set menu which had a mix of mocktail, dimsums, main course and desert!
I loved their dimsums, they were quite flavourful. Also, the egg fried rice and the chicken starter was great.
Loved their deserts the most!

This restaurant is located at Bandra, with a beautiful and dim lit ambience and candled tables. The staff is great and well trained with the services. The atmosphere is soothing with soft music and lights, comfortable seatings, and arrangements.
One of my most favourite restaurants for my favourite cuisine.

The service is quite quick, and good varieties offered even for the vegetarians.
We ordered:
Veg hot and sour soup: 9/10
Edamame and Asparagus Truffled dumplings: 8.5/10
Crispy tofu and szechuan pepper and Kashmiri chilli: 9/10
Tofu and aubergine claypot in black bean sauce: 9.5/10
Five style wild rice in fragnant chilli and celery : 8/10

This restaurant wont let you down.
And a good place to visit with friends and family.
Diksha
One of the places to try the original pan Asian and Cantonese cuisine, if new to it.
The classy and sophisticated place is very rejoicing to dine at or go for a date. Enjoy the refreshing cocktails, mocktails and special brewed tea.
There is a phenoix menu, Mumbai curated menu, lotus menu in according to which you can order or can go for alacarte
I ordered,
The dimsum platter which turned out to be of amazing flavours and perfectly made expect for the one of the jackfruit, it was rather sharp in taste and pungent smelling
The carrot cake had a delicious flavour of garlic and balanced with sesame
The jasmine fried rice weren’t any ordinary fried rice but made with distinct flavours and always worth the try
The pan fried tofu was just mouth watering for it was made perfectly crispy and the spice was held
The noodles weren’t oily or undercooked but just correct.
The price for the menu is not too extravagant or low
Priced

Awesome experience... went for frst time... ambiance is awesome.... staff is friendly... overall it's good experience..

Had a lotus buffet option. Staff was unaware about the types of dumplings while serving got the reply that recently menu was changed. Overall service was felt rushed that too when the booking time was 1.30pm and closing time is 4pm. Hardly any complains about food though. Pro tip - Chnage the sorbet that comes woth chocolate mousse with some other ice cream. You can get better food and service at Yautcha, BKC.

You won’t go wrong trying anything on their menu. The food is Fabulous. Must try their Hand pulled Noodles.
Shuvadeep.afour
Decent place for a full course Oriental meal. Opted for the safest option- the dimsum lunch- since this was my first visit. A Blonde Hopper accompanied the food. Proper hargaos- soft & juicy- perfectly made. The Chicken suimai was good but I believe they could have spiced it up a bit, just a bit. The Shanghai Dumpling was a delight- the tangy sauce that comes with it is awesome. The main course had Egg fried rice- very properly cooked and tasy. However, the kung pao chicken again lacked the spice- was a bit bland.
Opted for the dessert of the day and the anniversary special macaron. Decent. No complaints.
Overall, a pretty good place for the price and the fare. A little spicing up might just elevate their game

Overall good experience. The food is ok. Desserts are very good. Worth the experience

One of the best Pan Asian Fine dining. This place is just amazing with great hospitality. Starting from the good service, tasty food or classy ambience .. it goes so well with everything!
We ordered dimsums, veggies and mocktails and the food is just so good. It's kinda classy dim light ambience and impressive. Staff is so courteous and helpful.
This place might costs you around 2500 - 3000 for 2. And you won't regret visiting here.
Loved the vibe.
Also, They are celebrating their 8th Anniversary so We got served 2 Macartunes with special fortune written by two glamorous personalities - karan johar and shweta bachchan nanda.
Congratulations for 8th Anniversary!.

Well, it’s a top notch place. Right from ambience to service to food. It serves authentic Asian food so if you are up for it then do visit this place. Better to book a table especially if you are going on a weekend.

Been here on 31.8.2019 to celebrate my dad's superannuation.

Food :Excellent
Ambience:Excellent

Staff Behavior and Hospitality: Felt exceptional till the time we received the cheque. So the scenario goes like this:
We were charged a service charge of 10%, which is ideally supposed to be discretionary and the same was mentioned in their menu cards, discretionary means it depends on us whether we want to pay or not.
As stated by the Govt Tax Norms, no restaurant can mandate a customer to pay service charge.
Initially, we were denied but later they removed the service charge.
As a token of love and gratitude, we left an amount for the wonderful wait-staffs. To our surprise, the amount was given back to us, which looked extremely rude.

In short, my father who was in a celebration mood went into the guilt mode. Just to highlight things, we have been to many top notch restaurants, wherein even after the service charge is removed, the token of gratitude is accepted happily. Here, we felt, since we denied paying the service charge, we were insulted.
If this is a norm followed by you guys, I think this should have been communicated clearly.

I would still suggest this place for food amd hospitality, just the ending of the beautiful celebration was not good for us.
Sanah V. Suvarna
Has to be one of my favourites for Pan Asian Fine Dining.
Their service is up to the mark, and the staff is so courteous and alert, always making sure you're comfortable, They recommended most dishes to us.
Ordered a few dishes between 4 people - each dish was so different from the other and we were so full by the end of it.
Don't forget to try their extra ordinary desserts!

Amazing decor

Very well trained staff

Really liked the state of the art smoking zone

Very good food

Ordered the dim sum lunch menu.

Very well made virgin hakka drink

Dim sums and dumplings were 8 on 10 but edamame dumpling was 10 and 10.

The lunch set menu is value for money considering the quality and quantity. Was very filling.

Will visit again

Hakkassan is a place I frequent and I associate it with celebrating special occasions over the past 5-7 years. The ambience is exquisite and cuisine is fantastic. Even the service is normally top notch, but last evening I had a terrible experience, especially with the bar steward (Johnson) and the Manager (Heera).

It was shocking that despite escalation to Heera, there was apathy towards a frequent customer like me, and his behaviour was stinking of arrogance. They served food that I didn’t order and despite my insistence on speaking to the Chef, I was told that this is Hakkassan and I should take a leap of faith, and that the Chef doesn’t meet customers. Shocking to say the least!

Asked for the Management contact details, and again they had the audacity to refuse sharing details, saying that they are not permitted to share these details. This kind of arrogance will surely shoo away frequent customers. Not expected from such a premium brand.

Have seen iconic brands lose value when they disrespect customers. Hakkassan Mumbai seems to be heading in this direction, unless they fix some of their arrogant staff members like Heera & Johnson.

We were at Hakkasan to celebrate my husband's birthday. Nitin, at the bar took great care of us- made the most fabulous cocktails and even suggested items on the menu that were superb!
In a nutshell, a fabulous dining experience!
Only recommendation- nothing special for the birthday boy? Why?

Hakkasan
I visited Hakkasan after the long hype. It is very similar to Yauatcha as after all it is by the same hospitality.
Cost: 3000/4000 for two
Location: Bandra
Cuisine: Cantonese
Recommendations: Carrot Cake, Dimsum Basket, Yaki Udon Noodles.
Staff: Very Courteous and sweet.
Reservations are recommended.
It is heavily priced.
Lets get started with the ambience. The blue lights are a big no for me as I feel something hitting my eye too much.
I prefer yauatcha though.
We tried the dimsums, carrot cake and yaki udon noodles. The soy tofu is love if you love tofu. Also, we had chocolate mousse with mandarin. The mousse tastes like toffee and is very milk chocolate based, so if you like that, go for it.
Also, special thank you for their service. I was not well, so they got me honey, lemon and hot water.
Overall good experience.
Portals : Eazydiner for complimentary dessert

People go to Hakkasan hoping to see celebrities . After visiting this place recently I realized that this is not the reason why one should go to this place . The only reason why you should go to Hakkasan is for the food coz the real star at this place is the amazing food which they serve here .
Ambience : I would suggest you make prior reservations before visiting this place . We went to this place on a weekend and I couldn't spot an empty table . Not sure of the other seating areas but the one in which we were was completely full . There is a reception desk on the ground floor . The person there lead us to the elevator which took us to the second floor . The hostess upstairs had already been informed of our arrival and warmly greeted us by name . Small touches like this really matter and make you feel welcomed . We were given a nice table . The seating is quite comfortable and spacious . Although it is a bit dark inside the ceiling is very tall which gives this place a roomy feel . We did not check the bar so can't comment about it. The only flaw I would say is that I wouldn't recommend this place for a quiet date as it is quite noisy . There is constant uninterrupted clatter and clanging of plates and cutlery . Thankfully you forget this once the food arrives .

Service : The service we witnessed was top notch . The food was brought to us on time . The managers spoke to us warmly and asked us about the food . The only suggestion I would have for the management is that I found the person who took our order to be a bit pushy regarding what we should order . I would suggest the management to inform their staff to first let the guest decide what to have and then make a recommendation if asked . But overall the service was quite nice .

Food : As I said earlier the food is the real celebrity at this place . It was without a doubt the best Chinese food I have ever had in my life . Since it was my first time at this place I decided to play it safe and went for the set menu . My meal began with a hot an sour soup . The soup was amazing . You immediately taste the sourness which then fades away to give way to the subtle heat . It was raining outside so the soup made me feel quite warm . Next had the carrot cake . This was one of the highlights of the meal . It tasted amazing . It was topped with crunchy crispy garlic which was awesome and green and red chilies . This is a must have and you should definitely order this . The dimsums were also nice although nothing spectacular . For the main course I had Stir-fry chicken in Szechuan peppercorn and Mee goreng noodles . The stir-fry chicken was perfect . A lot of places just make chinese food unnecessarily spicy . Not here . The flavour and spice of this dish were perfectly balanced . The noodles as well were amazing . Couldn't get enough of the crunchy cashews and bean sprouts in the noodles . For dessert there was a blueberry cheesecake and vanilla ice cream . They also gave what they call a Macartune in celebration of their 8th Anniversary . Along with the food I also had the Ice wine tea . It was really fragrant and tasted really nice .

In conclusion you must definitely visit this place . I haven't had better Chinese food anywhere in the city . This was truly a memorable dining experience and I will surely be going back to this place .

Great food, ambience and service!

Loved the wild mushroom soup, wild mushroom claypot and the dimsums. People on the table also loved the lobster. Wonderful lunch set menu. Really great value. Between 2 people you can try 6 starters which are delicious. End with a nice pot of tea and you'll leave happy.

Soft shelled crab is a must try. Enjoyed the ambiance and the quality of food. Had visited the place last year for my birthday and hope to go back soon to see if the food still taste the same.

Had high expectations but did not live upto it. Had the dim sum lunch menu. The dim sums were not fresh just average in taste and so was the carrot cake.. But the game changer were the mains. Stir tried tofu is yummy. So was the Indian vegetable in Assam gravy, noodles and fried ginger rice. The virgin lychee drink was good. The tea - white tea with wine raisins and rose was the best. Very flavourful. The desert the vanilla icecream was really yum. But the mango cheesecake was not fresh. Must try once as experiwnceto chinese food and not the regular chow mein manchurian and chop suey.

Soothing ambience and good food. Tried the Executive lunch menu too ... a decent range of options and very well portioned to minimize wastage. Loved the crispy rolls, Shanghai dumpling, wholesome and delicious hot n sour soup, prawn hargao ...etc. ...with a cran cooler. To end with a light chocolate mousse with mandarin sorbet. The Ice Wine white tea was thoroughly soothing to wrap up the sinful spread.

The food complements the ambience. Good quality of food and the service as well. Dumplings are one thing which are the best. One should try all of them. Too good!

Hakkasan is a growing restaurant and is pretty famous for its food and service.
I went for the set menu ( friday ) ₹ 850 + taxes
The set menu included soup, 2 choices of small eat 2 main eats, 2 desserts and 2 choices of tea. Remember you can order on out of them you’re choices of veg or non veg.
The soup i took was sweet corn ( veg ) it was really good. Small eat - crystal dumplings and carrot cake main- hand pulled hakka noodle, veg ( damn tasty, would recommend to try it ) and tea - strawberry and champagne tea ( its not sweet obviously but is good ) and dessert- dark chocolate mousse.
• overall the experience was really nice
• would go again
$ save tip $
This restaurant takes service charge ( as written on the menu ) and if you want to save a bit of ₹ go for the regular water options than bottled.. totally your choices, just a suggestion.

In search of a luxury dining experience? You are at the right place. Visited hakassan during evening hours
We were greeted with warm towels and this gesture is seldom seen even in high end restaurants!
The ambience is so romantic with the dim lights and music playing
What we ordered?
Tofu and rice
Dumplings
Burnt garlic noodles- Must try!
It was a good fine dine experience.
--reviewed by fadfoodfeed--

Good good Quality food n comfortable yet intriguing decor. For first timers visiting the place, their set menu meals are an amazing way to discover the menu. Authentic and yummily simple sweet corn soup was a delight. The scallops dimsums were fresh. The ginger rice with chilli fried chicken and egg fried rice with chicken in black bean sauce were so refreshingly light and tasty. That we still had place in out stomach for desserts. We tried the Chocolate mousse with orange sorbet and mango with coconut truffle. The portion size for these meals are just perfect.. not too small n not too big. Will want to go back and try some other stuff soon!

Finally happened to visit this place after bookmarking it for years and couldn't find a better place to celebrate birthday with my family.

The ambience is just mind blowing. The place is split into small sections, reducing the hush hush of a large crowd.

Coming to food, we tried a host of dishes here and loved each one of it more than the other.

Must try - sweet corn soup (this is totally different than normal restaurants), crystal dumpling (my all time fav), carrot cake (no it's not sweet), spicy fried rice and ramen noodles. As for the desserts, they very sweetly added a happy birthday message to the platter, but I personally prefer the deserts at yauatcha over hakassan (yes they are part of the same chain.!!).

Overall an amazing experience. Certainly looking at going back again.
