Review Kofuku Japanese - Mumbai

Dr. Aman Bhonsle
The food at Kofuku was pretty good. The Tuna Sashimi was not bad & the Tonkotsu Ramen was among the nicer ones I’ve had in India but nowhere close to the quality I am used to based on my many years living in Singapore & having visited Japan on 2 occasions. I enjoyed their California Maki but was disappointed by their Pork Tonkatsu due to several condiments & the signature thinly cut iceberg lettuce being served in a way that made for a portion size I was displeased with. The cutlet itself felt chewy in parts.Their ambiance is reminiscent of the many Japanese establishments I’ve visited in the past & the service staff seemed attentive & well trained. If this is the best Mumbai has to offer, we’re on the right path & perhaps once Japanese cuisine becomes more popular - we’ll have more variety & excitement to look out for in this space.

My first visit to a Japanese restaurant. Loved the ambience and the food as well. We took about 20 mins to decide the order coz we weren't familiar with any Japanese dishes. Do some research on what you should ideally eat there so that you can order fast and save some time. Loved the Crispy Chicken Salad, Crab Sushil Roll and some Japanese Rice with gravy.

The only thing that shined for me was the salmon sushi. It was really good. I had high hopes for the miso ramen but I didn't enjoy it much. Overall its good for a change. From a price point of view it is expensive.

It was the cutest spot in Bandra! This is One of the best place to have authentic Japanese food. My first experience for Japanese food, and nothing can be better than this place. Had a few different sushi but the one I loved the most was 'Oh My God Sushi 🍣'. It's hard to describe taste of sushi, its a explosion of different flavors inside your mouth as you have it. Apart from sushi you should try Creamy Shrimp 🍤 Tempura it will sooth your soul - Shrimps have never tasted better !!! Mochi Ice Cream Absolutely loved the presentation of this. Pounded sticky rice with an icecream filling (Vanilla & Mango). The ambiance of this place contributes more to the authenticity. For an authentic Japanese cuisine and ding experience I would really recommend this place to all of you.

Kofuku, Asian cuisine restaurant is well known among the mumbaikars. Trust me its not only perfect to match the taste of authentic Asian food but also the ambience, music, serving, staff etc. I being vegetarian, wasn't sure of options. But they really have very good options for us too. Soup : Dumpling Soup Appetizers : Spring Onion pancakes - Its bland by taste thus i wouldn't recommend much. you can keep space for other varieties. portion is also huge. refer pic. Rock corn Tempura - This was so crispy, tasty & perfect to match my taste buds. Filled with corns, deep fried but not oily. One should def call for this. It has around 7-8 pcs. Maki - Futomaki Roll - This is for mushroom lovers. Its crispy as well as well filled with cucumber, mushrooms, asparagus, avocado etc. Portion consist of 8 pcs. Good options for cocktail & mocktails. Desserts : They do have special menu for it. But somehow the pictures doesn't make you order. Thus we skipped it. Overall i would say 100% visit for all. Opt for table near window. It has nice seating & gives u a feel of Japanese restaurant.

An Authentic Japanese restuarant. Serves lip smacking dishes. Excellent staff. Humble and polite. Costing is normal. Classic ambience. It also has a Japanese style sit in dinner table. Worth the visit.

Authentic Japanese Restaurant, Loved this place, had been with family, tried many dishes, loved the creamy prawn Tempura, Salmon Sashimi, Yellow Fish Sashimi, Omurice and definitely loved the Sake.

Best restaurant to try authentic Japanese cuisine with Japanese style seating. We had Shrimp Tempura Roll(sushi), Yaki Soba Noodles (Chicken), Shoyu Ramen. For dessert we had Mochi ice cream and Tiramisu. For drink we had a Kofuku special smoothie. Everything was so delicious especially the Shrimp roll. It is little expensive but totally worth it. The ambience was amazing. It's like we get a private room to sit and eat. Lovely experience with family. I will go again and try all their rolls. Note: Book a table in advance because it's very crowded cuz it's famous.

Delectable food. Efficient staff. The restaurant also has a good variety on their menu. It was surprisingly crowded, but we visited on a Sunday afternoon. Booking a table ahead of time would be the best thing while visiting on a busy day.

The food is very refreshing and light. Loved the experience of sitting with folded legs in the authentic Japanese style. They have the most unique drink serving style. Won't let it out to avoid spoilers! Ask the staff with his picture and they'll tell you. The free ice cream is by far the worst ice cream I've ever had. They must replace it with just a vanilla plain ice cream. The rest of the food, ambience, collective welcome cheer by the staff was excellent.

This was a place I visited on New Years Eve because of my love for Japanese cuisine and due to New Year it was super packed that day with no space to move at all.I think also their weekends as well as weekdays are kind of a full house and its difficult to get bookings here so its better to make your bookings in advance.

Location(5/5)
Very easy to locate, also since its near a shopping mall it makes it convenient and attracting to a lot of shoppers too.Its on the top floor next to Shoppers Stop. Kofoku(Japanese) and Heng Bok(Korean) are opposite each other making it a paradise for Asian food lovers. As a frequent shopper at Shoppers Stop I would often wonder what is this restaurant about and always wanted to visit this place,so glad I finally did.

Ambience(5/5):
Although it was too noisy that day because of New Year, but what a vibe, this place looks super comfy. On entering the restaurant you feel like you have entered Japan, they have this beautiful Japanese feel with warm colored interiors, beautifully lit dim lights and soft music ,there are also few Japanese waiters who are warm and greet in Japanese saying "Irasshaimase" which means "Welcome to the restaurant" and as you leave also they say "arigatou gozaimasu" which means "Thank You".
They also have the traditional zashiki(tatami seating) in an open and private seating other than the normal table seatings (Teburu Seki).

My order:(All Non-Veg)

Since this was my first time here, I wanted to taste a variety of different dishes but was a little confused looking at the menu. But the waiters did a good job of suggesting the famous/should try Japanese dished because I loved almost everything.

Starters:

1)Calamari Tempura with some a yellow mayo kind of sauce dip(5/5)
Wow these were so yum. Tempura sounds like a simple dish but it can often go wrong. This one was really delicious and that dipping sauce suited very well with it.Simple yet yummy. It had a good crisp and was well cooked yet slightly chewy but tender, which is what makes a good calamari tempura. The quantity is decent for maybe too people.I liked it and so ordered it again for the second time.

Main Course:

1)Yaki Soba Noodles(Prawn)(5/5)
Firstly I'm not a big fan of soba noodles but these were too good. This is a must try, just go for it,I highly recommend this dish. One of their super tasty noodles with a perfect blend of the sauce flavors along with few veggies and juicy prawns making you love every bite.I was almost going to order another plate but then I wanted to keep space to try other dishes(lol). But the next time I go back,I am going to order this for sure.

2)Teppan Yaki Fried Rice(Prawn)(4.5/5)
This is the Japanese style sticky fried rice cooked on a teppan(a flat surface cooking grill). This is not like the normal Chineese Fried rice,it has a little sticky texture to it and it tasted good and had the flavors with few veggies, egg and the sauce mix in it.But,honestly I am not a huge fan of the sticky rice.

3)Ramen Noodles(Chicken)(I think it was Miso Ramen,not sure)(3/5)
This was an ok dish, but I did not enjoy this dish as much as the other dishes. The chicken did not feel fully flavoured, also the broth felt little less flavourful.

Value for money(4.5/5):
The food presentation is decent and it tastes like yummy Japanese food.If you order the right dishes suiting your tastebuds( sometimes you may have no idea what to order if your entering a Japanese rest for the first time,so the waiters guide pretty well),its a value for money. From what I ordered the quantity of the starters were good for 2 people and main course was pretty good enough for 3 people /2 heavy eaters.Yes,they are a little bit on the expensive side but their taste makes up for it.I feel its a good restaurant to visit on occasions/birthdays with family/friends.

Will I revisit:
Yes, definitely. When I had visited,as it was too crowded I used the normal table seating,so I am definitely looking forward to visit the restaurant another day and try the traditional Japanese style tatami seating. Also I was too full to try anything else so I am going to have to revisit again to try the many dishes that sounded amazing in the menu.Right from the ambience to the food to the greetings to the seating, just everything feels like you have entered Japan. Also this is a great place to get some amazing pictures, some of my friends thought I really was in Japan on seeing the pictures(hehe)

If you want to have a taste of good Japanese food, this is the place to go. I loved every single item that we ordered. Do not forget to have the Sushi rolls and the Ramen soup! They are just awesome. Great vibe and delicious taste 😀

Definitely one of the good places for sushi in Mumbai! Their menu is pretty extensive.Choose from a large range of Japanese and East Asian delicacies . Love their sushi, ramen and mango mochi ice cream.I also love the concept and ambiance of the place and the sushi bar. They share a common floor with a Korean restaurant which I am keen to visit as well.

Kofuku is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Mumbai. Here, when you enter, you will actually feel like you are in Japan. And do not mistake it to be "Indian-type-Japanese" please. It is very authentic.

In picture : Green tea icecream. You will definitely crave for something sweet after eating alot of sushi here. If that sweet is also heathy, then it's just the best of both worlds. This icecream is served along with a date fudge brownie. So let us all agree that's they care about our taste as well as our health!

Had a lovely meal here

1) Service - very good - Thank you Swapnil
2) food -Very good - from shrimp tempura to the noodles (with chicken) to the dessert
3) ambience - Lovely

Will be back soon!! Thanks!!

This place has the best sushi 🍣 ! Totally recommend you to visit here if you love Sushi ! Apart from the sushi , the drinks are also nice. The ambience of this place is soothing and also very lively. Sushi serve here are fresh and good as always, Thier pork belly (kakuni) is really good, whenever I visit this place this is my first order, they also serve warm or cold sake which is really nice and service is also excellent as always thanks team kofuku.

Was quite excited for this one but honestly I did not enjoy the sushi's much! We went for the veg sushi platter and that's all that we ended up having. There are about 18 pieces in the plate and 2 of each variety. This place is an authentic Japanese place and the sushi's are also that kind. If you are sushi lover you have definitely had better ones in the city. I would not recommend this place also because it's too overpriced for the taste as well.
Pooja

The food was not so great. The quantity was atrocious. Left hungry. No value for money.

Next door heng bok represent Korean cuisine and Kofuku has Japanese.

Unfortunately like Heng Bok, Kofuku also falls short

Spicy shrimp
- nothing spicy about this, saving grace was shrimp was fresh

Tempura squid
- rubbery, chewy and definitely not fresh, skip

Packaging: standard
Pricing: expensive

Had one of the best Ramen and kaisen don for lunch. The place is simple, elegant, cool and friendly.
We found the portion sizes to be quiet sufficient for two people. They also serve some refreshing cocktails with a dash of sake.

Loved the food, service, ambience. You can have an actual Japanese food experience here.
Service was fast. Murli attended to us and was very polite and helpful.
Overall a great experience.
Oh and you can also buy some Japanese green tea, tuna, cake and stuff.

You gotta visit this place. There was just this whole new vibe when I entered. It actually felt like I was teleported to Japan. The Squid Tempura is a must try. Never eaten such succulent and meaty squids. Also how can I forget the Ramen. The Miso Ramen was sooo soo good. Thank God the staff informed me that they have a huge bowl and to rather take it 1 by 2. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish the whole thing. I'm gonna go visit again soon 😋
Shweta
The sushi rolls are really nice. Our waiter, Murli, offered to help giving us good suggestions based on our palates. The sake shots are also worth trying!
This was one of the best sushi I’ve had! Even the veg food was delicious (including veg sushi).
The menu is exhaustive and we had a tough time choosing!!

We have been coming to the Kofuku Bandra location for over 4 years and they have failed to disappoint. The food is always excellent and the staff are attentive and polite. It is safe to say we are loyal customers. The value of the food is great and as worldly travelers, we would say the flavor is very authentic. Their menu has a wide range of dishes and the raw fish is always fresh. To be more specific, there is one staff member, Murli, who always takes our order and effectively communicates to the kitchen if we have any special requests. Additionally, we receive complimentary matcha ice cream at the end of our meal which is a special touch that shows genuine the staff are. Good job Kofuku!! We will be coming back many times in the future.

It was an amazing experience to be at Kofuku. I just loved the food and the courteous staff. They know each and every item and serving size so deeply, you can simply rely on them. Am not giving details of food quality or taste as we all know Kofuku is unbeatable for japanese cuisine in Mumbai. Trust me, head fast.

The staff was very helpful especially Kapil. Loved the ambience and food. Was a great experience overall.

This can be rated as best Japanese cuisine restaurant in Mumbai. Having a best infrastructure which gives you a good experience of being in Japan and authentic Japanese food. We had been to black & white platter which was hosted recently. The food was amazing as well as the ambiance ✌️✌️😍

Went to kofuku for lunch. The ambience was amazing. The staff was polite and helpful. The food we ordered was great. Although the food was great we felt that the quantity was little less. We had the mochi ice cream for dessert. It was lovely. Overall we had a lovely experience

Went here about a year ago. The chicken was great and surprisingly the vegetarian was equally amazing. Loved the "aubergine steak", it had a great sauce.

This was the first time I tried authentic Japanese cuisine and it was a great experience and the Khayan, who is the service staff at Kofuku, helped us select from the menu and it turned out to be an awesome lunch.

This place is a big “No” .... being served a stale tuna is least of the concern ... this place is too cramped lousy ambience and astonishing slow service ... your stars shine if you even are offered a menu to order in the first 15 minutes.. then only entertainment is “the waiters play a catch me if you can ” ... where they try to hide or avoid eye contact with you .. like a James bond you need to find your mark and like a avatar you need to make a eye contact with your war horse and make a bond with him ... then he will take your order but make no mistake , he will take centuries enough to get your first order on table zzzzz ...
Food is good ... but the bar sucks ! No stock of sake as listed in menu . When i say Food is delicious ... I mean just stick to sushi although be careful of fish meat ... try if you know your fish ... that a trade off ...

Always a pleasure. Always a great experience. You have the best food, the best offerings and outstanding attendants.

My friends - who experienced japanese food for the first time - with my wife an I had a really good time on our last visit to your awesome establishment.

We ordered

Sake maki roll - EXCELLENT

Seafood kakiage - i personally prefer the ebi tempura.

Kofuku Special Sushi & Sashimi Boat - very good for first timers, but i did expect a little more variety in the sashimi offerings, the mackerel especially.

Yaki Tori Chicken - not impressed, it felt the chef rushed to get it out

Pan fried Pork gyoza - GOOD

Katsuni - EXCELLENT

Kakuni - ALWAYS EXCELLENT

A bowl of rice.

Overall everyone had a great time and the service was exceptional. 😭yakitori

We also like the wafu carpaccio, salmon tataki, beef bulgogi, tori no kara, miso soup, yaki soba noodles, tonkitsu ramen and teppanyaki fried rice from our earlier visits

Arigato
Prateek
I love the Japanese style sitting and the warmth of this place. Staff is extremely polite and courteous. Food here will warm your soul. I love their prawn gyoza, meso ramen and maki rolls. Cocktail with wasabi was really hot. Try their matcha ice-cream with creme brulee.

If there's one place that has maintained its standard and infact outdone themselves, it has to be kofuku! Great Sushi, amazing ambiance and the vibe is always buzzing.

This was maybe my sixth or seventh visit to this place and I was really blown away and thus I decided to write down this review. Spicy Edamame was the perfect 'chakna' to our sangrias. The crunchy sushi with flakes of tempura and the jaw dropping Hollywood roll were spot on. But the Balinese Curry and Beef Toban Steak was hands down the best dishes of the night. Steak done medium rare and the curry served with sticky rice was the perfect way to end our meal.

Will definitely be back to what I think is the one of the top three best Japanese restaurant in Bombay.

Kofuku is a very aesthetically pleasing and authentic place with a very theme based interiors
The staff was courteous
We had the prawn tempuras which was just delicious
We had some avocado sushi which was also very good and a strong Wasabi to compliment it
We had some dumplings which were extremely well made and tasted just as good
And we had the Emame which was just a delight to have
And of course we had some sake which complimented the food well
This place is great for the senses and would like to come back

I've been here so many times, I'm actually surprised that I've never reviewed it. My most recent trip was yesterday when my cousin and I were craving some Japanese food.

We ordered a Ton-jiru, yakitori and later decided on dessert. We walked in at about 7pm which is super early for us. The soup is miso based with strips of pork and green onion, it's got a simple yet rich flavour. The fermented miso adds a slight tartness to the soup which I enjoy. It's a very authentic flavour which may not suit all.
The yakitori was well made and pan-fried a good amount of filling and not oily.

Our surprise discovery was the green tea molten cake. As much as I love the flavour of Matcha, I often find it used too heavily which can ruin it. But this cake had the perfect amount of Matcha, it's not too sweet but rich and creamy and pairs well with simple vanilla ice cream and red bean paste. I hope that the next time I have it, it's just as good though I probably won't be sharing it.

Other favourites from my previous visits are the tempura, ton-jiru, tonkatsu ramen, bulgogi, kakuni pork (this is so amazing with just a bowl of rice). Thus far I've always been pleased with the food, service and ambience. The experience has always left me waiting to return.

They have traditional Japanese seating where you are provided with tatami mats with a sake bar, option to sit on a regular dining table is also available. Their staff is really efficient and courteous. We tried their Tofu Salad which was delicious. Carpaccio for vegetarians - Zucchini Carpaccio while Hamachi Carpaccio for non-vegetarians both are really good. We also loved their appetizers Rock Corn Tempura, Miso Nasu Shigiyaki both veg but delightful. I honestly loved their selection of Sake and Cocktails. Coming to the Sushi they serve a variety of Sushi in both Veg as well as Non-Veg. We tried Oh My God Sushi in Non-Veg which was amazing but I personally preferred the Veg Sushi (Super Crunchy Roll) more. I never thought I would eat vegetarian Sushi and actually prefer that over Non-Vegetarian Sushi. Even their Yaki Udon Noodles veg again is commendable. Their Teppan Yaki Fried Rice available in both veg and non-veg is worth a try. To conclude I can say this place is perfect for probably the only Japanese restaurant serving such diverse Vegetarian selections. .

.

Follow @foodreviewonline or www.foodreviewonlinedotcom

.

.

.

#foodreviewonline #kailashshahaniofficial #food.

Kofuku has an decor which makes you feel you have landed in one of the traditional Japanese restaurants with an ambience being serene and staff imported from Japan ;) suggesting some amazing Japanese curry, though balinese curry and sticky rice topped my list. The soup with dumplings as a starter refreshes you. Overall a peaceful dining experience. Must visit.

Wonderful Japanese food in Bandra. The Salmon Maki Roll was very good, as also the Agedashi Tofu. Yaki Udon Noodles and Tofu Teriyaki Steak for mains. The quality of tofu used is just superb. Fried Ice Cream for dessert also nice.
The ambience is also nice, sparse and casual. Japanese pop music adds to the feel.

A place which has the looks, smells and sounds of a typical Japanese eating house - casual, fun and intimate as well. Hopped into this place after an event at Rang Mandir. Friday evening with reservations - we didn’t need to wait. Since we hadn’t reserved their cozy, private sunken seating, took up one of the regular tables.

Being our first visit here, decided to order across the menu - mixed green salad, chicken yakitori, miso ramen pork noodles, tofu chicken mince don (comes with miso soup) and for desserts, green tea ice cream and green tea molten cake.

The salad was good but with a thin dressing, one starts enjoying it better when the greens are dipping into the sauce. The chicken yakitori had an excellent yummy sauce but then chicken skewers need to be flatter than round. The ramen was substantial, but the soup is more sweet than tangy - wish the meat slices were cut thinner. Don’t forget to slurp the noodles, though it makes a mess of the shirt front 😝. The don was pretty good and also a large portion - the accompanying miso soup was perfect!

The green tea molten cake is another excellent dish - rightly flavored with an accompanying ice cream. I found the green tea ice cream a bit strong - bordering on bitter.

The staff are attentive and polite, though the kitchen can come under stress leading to a bit of wait between dishes. Most of the dishes are in the range of Rs. 400-700 with a per head cost coming to around Rs. 1,100 including service charges and taxes.

I do see myself coming here more often, despite the crazy Bandra traffic!!

Love the sushis at Kofuku! It’s authentic Japanese food and really good too!

It’s simply superb , the best place to try so many varieties of sushis - from makis to nigiris and shazimis to miso ramen bowl soup

So having dinner at Kofuku was long due which was finally fulfilled. We had ordered Matsu Sushi - loved the salmon but didn’t quite like the tuna, loved Yaki Pork Gyouza, Kakuni Pork, Shoyu Ramen Pork Noodles, Yaki Soba Pork Noodles. For dessert we had ordered Green Tea Ice Cream which was bitter, so didn’t like that as well. The Kaffir Lime & Melon Martini was absolutely wonderful. Except for the service which was quite a drawback - even after ringing the bell quite for a number of times, kept on the table for calling the waiters nobody turned up.

The best sushi I have had in Mumbai. The Ramen is a must try and very friendly staff :) They have a wide collection of Sake as well! It was a great evening. :)

Got a chance to visit kofuku bandra a few days before for their Big Bowl Challenge where they serve a massive bowl of ramen in diff broth kinda sauces and the Korean spicy one was too spicy for me but the other one was worth the jump!

It's simple, finish the bowl in 12 mins and get a Rs 5000 voucher at their outlets! This is up till 15th Sept so go and grab the chance as well as experience the authentic cuisine and the ambiance and the seating style is also super cool!

One of kind where you can find a good Japanese food here in Bombay. Situated at one of the most happening place in the city, it gives the Japanese vibes that you can enjoy.

The ambience is amazing and really cool. The food were good and they have a lot of choices as well.

Staff were friendly and helpful. And the chef, James Biaka is so humble.

A must visit to experience the taste of Japanese here in Mumbai.

Traditional japanese culture is the best, been here with my family and friends, need not to say that the service was incredible.
Tried the following dishes:
(1)maguro sushi
(2)tempura shrimp sushi
(3)yaki udon noodles (pork)
If you like Ramen and Sushi and Japanese cuisine, you will have heard of Kofuku. Never having been here before, I decided to remedy this on my SO’s birthday. You enter through the noise and crushing traffic of Linking Road to....the noise and crushing crowd in this restaurant. Louder than a local station at peak hours.
We had reserved a table and were placed near the entrance, people entering and leaving loudly around us and under a garish blue light. The tables were clustered uncomfortably tight. Kind of defeats the purpose of booking before hand. When I asked to be reseated they said it would take 30 mins. I mentioned it was my gf’s birthday, but that didn’t carry much weight with the polite and apologetic servers. We were hungry at this point and just decided to order.

They dumped all our food, 3 entrée and the main all the same time, in a hurry to get us out. Luckily at this point, we didn’t want to stay either.

The bill was not commensurate to the service and ambience provided and the food was good but not enough to compensate for the rest of the experience.

Visited kofuku for dinner, the place was surprisingly crowded for a weekday. Tried the sushi here, wasn’t my best experience but the ambiance was good.

Ramen was pretty good and service was super quick :D loved the kind and polite waiters and the traditional Japanese room we sat in was a beauty

One of the best places in Bombay to have Japanese food !! Nothing can beat their spicy tuna sushi...its a must must have . Prawn tempura roll was also good ! And what could be better than having Sake shots !

Having had drinks and starters elsewhere, we dropped in here only to dig into a piping hot bowl of Ramen, like we have done a few times before. But since I wanted to stick to veg that day, there was nothing in the Ramen section I could choose.

We were offered the menu of their Korean restaurant but we have tried the Korean version of ‘instant noodle’ ramen before and it was disappointing.

We opted for Tepanyaki fried rice and Tempura soba. Rice was good, heavily seasoned with pepper and soy but the soba was a big let down.
The tempura had soaked in more oil than it should have, the broth was flat and lacklustre.

I wish that they introduce atleast one version of veg ramen with some vegetables, a crisp nori sheet to munch on, even though it might deviate from an authentic ramen.
A lot of people are going vegetarian and even vegan these days, a small addition in the menu will be nice.

Been here for dinner. Awesome interiors and courteous service, you get feel of Japan after entering . Reservations highly recommended in weekends. Food taste and presentation is good- tried sushi , shashmi and chicken noodles . Price range is on higher side , considering prime location in Bandra .

Authentic Japanese food ... from sushi to pork to avocado salad, there was something for everyone. More importantly, it was the traditional seating style that was completely different from other Japanese restaurants

Decided to go for lunch and we really were looking at Japanese cuisine. Decided on Kofuku which is on Linking Road on the sixth floor where Shoppers Stop is situated.

They don't have parking and you can park in Shoppers Stop basement which is INR 50. Not cool.

Well we reserved a table and I would recommend anyone going; to do so as well. Weekday or weekend it gets pretty packed.

For drinks we ordered a Bira, Hakushika Kaon Sake and Asahi. Good start but I feel the Sake cup is pretty small as I have had it before.

We ordered as compliments to our drinks

1. Edamame: Steamed salted Soya Beans. Was nice and complimented the drinks well.

2. Crispy Creamy Tempura: Battered Fried Prawns with Creamy Wasabi Sauce. > This was absolutely delicious.

3. Philadelphia Maki Roll: Cream Cheese Salmon & Avocado Roll > Loved every bite. Fresh and Delicious.

Our Mains we ordered:
1. Prawn Yaki Udon Noodles: Wheat Flour Noodles with Yaki Udon Sauce > Nothing to complain about. Nice as well.

2. Spicy Korean Chicken: Korean style fried chicken with spicy Kochuzang Sauce > This dish was okay. Not too great

Finished up with Dessert:
Green Tea Ice Cream > 5 star dessert

Service was great and our server was well versed with the food. Thank you so much.

Food: 4/5

Service: 5/5

Ambiance: 4.5/5

Value: 4/5

The staff is very nice and polite and I wanted to visit this place for quite sometime.

One of the reasons I am rating this place down by a star is they charge you INR50 for valet parking although they are a pricey restaurant which most of the restaurants don't do now a days.

We ordered the mushroom and avocado sushi, the chicken tepanyaki. Both of these were fabulous.

In the mains we ordered the chef's special curry in chicken and vegetables along with sticky rice. These were alright but didn't have the wow factor.

We also tried the Japanese beer and one of the sake cocktails.
Love this place! Its warm and lively. The sushi is great but I wouldn't recommend the hot pot or the dumplings here. Stick to sushi and you'll have a great experience.

The place has a good vibe but the places by the view are always booked so you have to make do with the remaining sitting which is not much appealing. The tempura fried calamari i ordered was good, i enjoyed it with sake. It was followed by sake maki that is a fresh salmon sushi, it was not wrapped well, it was soo loose that one of the rolls actually fell apart while lifting. The fish used was really fresh, and the ingredients used were fresh too, yet the craft was missing.
Their wasabi sets them apart as its adequately pungent unlike other places where its mostly mixed with something to reduce its pungent taste.
Prawns tempura sushi was good, Well wrapped, but strictly fine as compared to other Japanese sushi places in town.
Tepanyaki course was little dissappointing as the prawns served had no ginger flavour but they were just spicy. The sticky fried rice was satisfactory and the soup had remarkably fresh tofu.
All in all, a lot to improve, but worth a visit.

Weekday or a weekend , this place is always buzzing ! Hence reservations are a must and if you can, opt for the tatami seating. The menu is very extensive and the sushi selection is brilliant. Main course portions are a little controlled, so order more 😃

If you’re looking for authentic Japanese food kofuku is the place. Karaoke, Ramen, Chicken and veggies all made a perfect lunch.
The total bill costed around 3K.
2 ramen worth 1250Rs and 1 soup and 2 appetizers.

Overall it was a nouveau place and experience . Traditional japanese style bamboo atmosphere is a win. The taste and presentation of the food is like nowhere else. They live up to their name as authentic japanese cuisine. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, they even greet you in japanese when you enter. You can’t complain about the place after exiting. P.S. Some dishes are very new for Indian tastebuds so consult the staff before ordering. Eg. I ordered Miso Ramen and to be honest it was not the best Kofuku can offer.

Never been a fan of Japanese food. Not coz I don't like it but I don't usually understand it well.
One day me & a friend of mine decided to visit Kofuku. Location is easy to find & after taking the lift we reached the place.
Good- Great ambience, authentic look, serving with care. Food has multiple flavors to tickle your taste buds for sure. Lighting is perfect.
Bad- Not bad about the place but if you like to fill your stomach while eating, this is neither the place nor food type. Portion size is moderate.
Ugly- Certainly nothing.

Verdict- A well lit, crafted place to try good Japanese food in Bandra. Try it. 8/10

Absolutely the best place for sushi, now that global fusion and the likes are on a steady decline! The Maki, tempura, nearly everything that we had here is off the charts!

Kofuku is one of the best Japanese restaurants in our city in terms of Flavour Profile, Quality, Variety and Quantity. Everytime I crave sushi, this is the first place that comes to my mind or I run to. The Staff is extremely polite and helpful. The ambience is authentic and traditional to the cuisine they serve. Their fish is absolutely fresh!
Must Try : Oh my God Sushi ( Without Fail), Prawn Tempura, James Roll, Kofuku Special Roll.
Salmon Carpaccio
Korean Spicy Chicken
Spicy Sour Shrimp
Kimchi Prawn Rice
Norwegian Salmon
Ramen

Ah those tables where you take off your shoes and go sit, classic Japanese after work bars to haunt. Been here with a bunch of friends , ordered some Asahi dry to get in the mood. Some edamame beans, spinach and pork gyoza. It was fabulous. Did the sushi rolls which were a tad overpriced but fine. The chicken Katsu cutlet was nice and crunchy for my friend who does only chicken. Finished off with a bowl of pork ramen and for desserts the creme brûlée. The creme brûlée’s though French, the Japanese kitchens will use their glazing lamp to get the right caramelised crust. Thank you Kofuku.

Best Japanese restaurant I've been to in Mumbai, ordered the Salmon Sushi platter, Japanese crab soup, Black Cod in Miso sauce and Salmon Teriyaki and all of these preparations were excellent. Also, Kapil was pretty cool and very hospitable helped pick my dinner off the menu!

It was our first visit to this lovely Japanese restaurant in Mumbai. I ordered their Miso Soup, Shoyu pork ramen, Chicken karaage and Omurice, since they were my favorite back in Kyoto. The best thing about this place is the authentic and fresh taste in everything we tried. Simply loved it and definitely coming back for other items on the menu 😍😍

Me and my friend decided to go to Kofuku to have Japanese food and I can say we were impressed. The ambience is done keeping Japan in mind. There is also a part of the seating where proper Japanese style of seating is available. We ordered a Chicken Miso Ramen (Delicious in taste however i felt there was too much noodles in it. The chicken was soft and amazing ) and my frnd ordered Pork Soyu Ramen (soy sauce based so a little pungent tasting. Pork was cooked nicely) Quantity was too good could be a full meal for 1 person. Next we wanted to try the dumplings so we ordered Prawns Yaki Gyouza (Divine tasting and the soy based dip was sooo good it made them taste better. The prawns were perfectly cooked and the stuffing was amazing) Japanese food is incomplete without Suchi so we ordered The OMG Sushi which tasted really good and it had 8 pieces which was a lot as by this time we had eaten quite a lot. It was garnished with some mayo based sauce. And the best part was the dessert. We ordered the Chocolate Mousse and we were not disappointed. That was the best tasting mousse I have had in a while. I was so perfectly set that even after roaming on linking road for some time it did not melt that much. Loved it totally.
A good trip with good ambience just an info the place is quite loud as you will find japanese and Korean people also visiting so keep that in mind.
Loved it will visit again

Amazing sushi. The best sushi in mumbai I must say. The ramen was not good. The broth was very thin. It should be little more dense. The sushi was to die for. Sake pot is pretty less. Overall the best sushi place in town.

The food here is incredible! Sushi, Katsu curry, beef carpaccio, everything was awesome! Service was a bit slow but the restaurant was packed and the waiters were super friendly so I guess it’s excused. Skip the dessert though.

The description reading a 'casual dinning' experience is infact casual in every sense. There's nothing they are serious about. And here's why :-
1. They do not understand the concept of taking reservation. There are no tables reserved inspite of you making a reservation. They will take a reservation on the phone, however once you reach there, they will ask you to wait since others reached before you. It's almost funny in today's age of various means of booking a table etc. (They also have book a table on zomato. But no point, because you will have to wait)
2. Inspite of that, we waited since we were starving and decided to just eat there nonetheless. Let's move on to the waitresses there. They are just as casual as they define their experience. After 10mins of us staring at our menus, we had to literally hunt one down to give her our order. We ordered 2 dishes, and inquired about one other dish to which she blankly looked at us for a few seconds and then disappeared. We figured she went to ask someone else. To which another waitress came and gave us the same blank expression and pointed to a man who seemed like he was managing the waitresses. We asked him our doubts regarding the dish and then chose our list dish and finally placed our order. Or so what we thought!
3. 30mins later when we didn't receive anything, we started to worry. Our stomachs crumbling, it was important now to find out what was going on. I asked a waitress to check on our order. This one again left abruptly. 5 mins later she said I will come back to you shortly. I asked for the man again and asked him to repeat the order for our table. The worse that could happen has fallen in our laps. I could see his face across 5 tables and I realized, our order was never punched! 45 mins have passed. They haven't even registered our order!

Now is the worse part however, we asked for the manager. The man we asked about checking our order was the manager infact. There couldn't be a more unprofessional manager than this guy. He did not bother to come to us informing us about this delay. The rest is almost unnecessary and moments that can only make one angry after having waited for a total of 1.5 hours. Instead of providing a satisfactory solution to such a situation, the manager infact asked us what he should do.

We left the place. With a terrible experience. I'm aware that this place has a good rating and probably the food is good too, however, it takes for just one terrible experience of hospitality to judge if you'd ever go back here again. For us, no. Never.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Mumbai. Everything over here right from the decor to the food was perfect. Katsu curry is a must if you are new to the oriental cuisine. Other dishes worth trying would be the sushi platter and the green tea pudding/fried ice cream.

We saw on Zomato that Kofuku was doing a Chef’s table menu: 5 courses. We decided to go and try it out on Saturday evening. We went there and after discussing we realised we needed to book in advance. We took the reservation for the next Monday night. Anyone that goes for the Chef’s table menu needs to be empty stomach. There are 2 options available: menu with alcohol( each course is including one alcoholic drink) or menu with soft drink (unlimited drinks). We decided to go with the soft!! First of all thumbs up for Anand who was our waiter. Smiling, explaining each course in details, coming to ask if we needed anything. That was an excellent service and we enjoyed it a lot. Coming to the food everything was amazing! From the taste to the presentation. The quality and quantity of food they gave is 5 stars!!! We really enjoyed the experience it is totally worth it and we are planning to go back soon! Thanks Chef Biaka for this amazing diner.

The place is very chaotic. I was not sure who was the person who was helping us throughout my time there. I must have interacted with at least 7 different people. Calling them all over two times to check on food (My mains came after 25min of ordering), refill water, get our bill. It was loud and chatty. Half the staff does not understand English and understood us wrong.

The food was average. I had California rolls, which were just okay. No veg ramen options, when I asked the manager (Indian fellow, perfectly understood my request), he started suggesting I have seafood, which made no sense and completely ruined it for me. Ended up ordering for veg curry and steam rice which was not quite Japanese in taste. And they served me the steam rice 15min before the curry.

The ambience isn’t all that great either, for a fine dine restaurant, I was pretty disappointed. And I feel like my money was wasted as I was really looking forward to going to this place. No one even came to ask once, if we enjoyed our food. How sad. I’d rather stick with Fatty Bao.

Amazing experience. The food was excellent and the ambience was extremely decent. Our server Kapil was extremely polite and helpful. All in all an excellent experience.

Visited Kofuku expecting an authentic sushi experience, not disappointing at all!!! Ended up enjoying a whole lot of other japanese culinary delights. Everything from their ginger pork to the miso ramen were full of richness and flavor (particularly fond of the bamboo shoot). Lastly, honorable mention for Kapil. Extremely courteous and ensured we were well aware of the flavors and textures we were ordering. Was kind enough to spend some time and explain the intricate menu on offer. Thank you for a refreshing experience.
