Review Taftoon Bar & Kitchen - Mumbai

Swamini Joglekar
Had dinner right after the Great Indian Musical, and it was a fitting way to end out evening out! They have flavourful and delicious dishes, amazing service and wonderful ambience. My review would have been 3 stars if not for Mr. Raut who ensured we received our order on time and we’re properly serviced as well. The hotel really needs to consider hiring more people. The service we got was amazing but it was clear that they all were overworked and handling too much.

This place is good place for BKC people for quick dinner or lunch. The food is good and service too. This is one of the oldest food joint in BKC. It’s not very costly but very decent place. Also I have observed that they keep changing thier food menu and are quite trendy. One of the best Masala Naan is available here. One should not miss it. Also they have lot of Calcutta based dishes. Thier mustard sauce is too good. Drinks are decent. Thier chote kulache chole is cool starter and really different than usual. Thier Diner Devil chat was interesting combination of egg and mustard sauce. The pulao was decent too. Specially the chicken pieces served on stone are also interesting concept and tasty.

It's an upscale restaurant, ideal for a couple or small gathering. We tried two dishes. The presentation was top notch; however, the taste was just average. There are budget restaurants aplenty in Mumbai that serve better food, taste wise. Yes, the ambience and service was certainly up to the mark!

Positives: Food quality, tase, presentation and variety in menu were great. Peer Gosht (red mutton dish) was an absolute winner. Amazingly cooked mutton dish filled with boneless pieces. Veg dum biryani was flavorful. Various veg and nv starters were quite new and enjoyable Negatives: Quantity is less than sufficient. Lighting is a bit dim. Music too loud like a regular club but actually was more like a family restaurant so it was a mismatch. Overall: Great dining experience. Little heavy on the pocket.

Taftoon is one of those rare finds that creates a sense of misplaced urge. To go back and try more, to discover the depth of kashmiri and lucknowi cuisine in the midst of Mumbai's business banking district in a restaurant hidden away in a very formal business setup. The kahwa tea keeps the pallete refreshed while the starters and the wide choices of soup give way to the main course. Depends on how hungry you are and the state of experimentation your mind body and soul permits as the mutton options outweigh the chicken and fish. For the veg lovers so not be disappointed at all as there is an equal measure of care taken to ensure an equally enough extent of food and entree choices. The sweet tooth I must say was the only bit of disappointment and while the presentation was immaculate, the quality and choice of icecream blending with the traditional; and also the extent of non challant uninteresting list of choices presented could improve. Well, let me reiterate there were comfortable options that were tasting good and yet for such an elaborately designed menu, to end there could've been an equally amazing awe inspiring 'sweet end'. A definite visit to this place is important!

I had the pleasure of dining at Taftoon Bar & Kitchen land it was an experience I'll never forget! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The ambiance was perfect - just the right balance of elegance and comfort. And the food...oh my goodness, the food! Every dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I especially loved the devils chat - it was simply divine! I also appreciated the thoughtful wine pairing suggestions from our server. Overall, I can't recommend Taftoon Bar & Kitchen enough. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the place to be!"

Reservation is needed before visiting. Ambience and vibe is nice, some corners looked cramped, some looked comfy. Galouti Kebab : 4.5/5. Chicken Biryani: 5/5, Plenty of chicken pieces. Taste was good. Recommended to us after we hesitated it will taste sweetish but it was spicy enough. Pina Colada : 4/5 Mai Tai: 1/5. The one that's served was definitely not Mai Tai. No liquor taste, no orange taste, didn't have the MaI Tai punch, such a dead drink with a dried out lemon. Jaggery Pies dessert: 3/5. It was okayish not so great. Food is a tad expensive. People are warm and smiling. Restrooms were kept very clean. Would recommend. Will visit again.

I found Taftoon restaurant through Google search and was amazed with my random choice. It is a great restaurant with very good ambiance and delicious food. We were greeted by warm smiles from warm people/ staff including Pravin, Samir (Floor manager) and Jitu. We tried some dishes on Pravin’s recommendation and they were all 5/5 👌🏼 A must place to visit if you are looking for some unique dining experience, delicious food and diverse cuisine Me and my family enjoyed visiting this place to the fullest. Thank you to all the staff members for their help and service.

Good place for a wholesome Indian meal and a welcome change from the modern Indian cuisine nonsense mushrooming everywhere. We went on a Sunday for lunch and the place was packed. The menu offers largely North Indian cuisine with dishes from other North and Eastern parts of India too. We ordered a Galouti kabab and Bhuttey ke kebab to begin with. The Bhuttey ke kabab was delicious and cooked well to fall apart. The Galouti was also well made though the small roti as a base was quite tough. For mains, we had the Rogan paneer, a chicken curry with a Bangladeshi flavoured curry and Seekh Kebabs. The paneer was good and so was the seekh. The Bangladeshi curry was just ok though the chicken was well cooked. For dessert, we ordered the Gulab Jamun jam pie served with Rabri. Great dessert though that had to be second option as they disappointingly did not have any Kulfi! At around 2.5k per person, it falls within regular Mumbai restaurant pricing. Definitely recommended!

We went to this really nice place before Christmas in BKC. Ambience is top notch. Food is really wonderful. We really liked the hospitality. The free Desi kahwa and papad platter was yummy. We tried Kundan Kaliyan, Garlic Naan, Pista Jam Pie. The mutton was tender and felt like it came from royal kitchens. The dessert was perfectly sweet but too heavy for our taste. The only issue is slow servicing, even so the staff is kind and polite.

I loved the concept of serving food from all regions through which the GT road passes! So there are so many options to choose from that it gets confusing! But the food is delicious, the drinks are good, the location of the restaurant is good. The feel and ambience plus the staff of the restaurant are good. The only drawbacks were the khamiri roti, could have been better, and paid valet parking. But otherwise I am definitely going back to try some more regional cuisines from the grand menu!

Taftoon serves some good non-veg dishes. We had the following dishes: 1. Galauti Kebabs - 3.5/5 2. Mutton Kheema - 4/5 3. Butter roti - 4/5 4. Laccha parantha - 3/5 (it was more chewy, prefer butter roti)

The food is amazing. The service is very nice. The ambiance is lovely. The appetizers were just fine. I would recommend trying the main course. It was very tasty. Loved it.

Visited this pretty Kashmiri cuisine restaurant and bar which is located in bkc. The ambience of this restaurant is premium and gives a lavish vibes. Their staff was soo polite and humble with us. Service was not much good. Crowd of this restaurant is decent. I have ordered, Dahi Bhutteyan De Kebab Chicken tikka biryani And Ice Tea. Portion of the food was very small but the quality of it was outstanding. Taste of the starter was soo good. Presentation was done very good. Overall experience with taftoon bkc was good. Thanks

Taftoon at BKC offers a rich cultural experience, the one of a kind place in Mumbai! The decor has wooden accentures and chic ambience. The food is so flavourful, homely and will leave you with a happy heart! What we ordered: 🔷Egyptian Hibiscus & Cranberry Ice Tea 🌺 This was served in a tall glass and was a delight! Went really well with the food spread! 🔸Blue Butterfly Pea Ice Tea This was served in a fancy glass on my request! And this was definitely worth trying! Sweet pea flavours to accompany your food! 🔷Mutton galouti kebab Such melt in the mouth kebabs which I’ve never tried before! Such rich flavours! I thoroughly enjoyed this dish and it’s a must try! 🔸Chicken Malai Kebab Soft succulent chicken marinated with malaidar, rich, creamy texture! Loved every bit of it! 🔷Chicken Golando steamer curry A Bangldeshi dish, with such familiar but new flavours! Went really well with baquerkhani (Kashmiri bread) and also laal naan which was crisp and tasty! 🔸Chicken Dumm Biryani Soft and fragrant rice with such succulent chicken pieces with a rich and uniquely flavourful gravy! Super moist and tasteful! 🔷Shufia A Kashmiri dessert served with homemade mango icecream which was so rich and thick! Lied on a bed of badam shortbread! Loved it! Each dish was presented so well! Everything we tried was so experimental and turned out to be fantastic! The ambience and vibes of the place are very rich! The service is amazing! Everyone is so polite and nice! Definitely a one of a kind and rare fine dining experience in Mumbai! Give it a try!

We went to this lovely place (in Powai) for lunch. The restaurant is unique in the sense that it offers specialised cuisine from few selected states of India, namely Kashmir, Bihar and other North Indian States. The welcome drink was also refreshingly different; Kashmiri Kahwa. The menu is really exhaustive but the staff extended help to select right combinations and special items. For starters, we had ordered Patthar ke kabab, Fish Kobiraji and Galouti Kabab. Kobiraji was not of highest standard, if one compares with the quality available in Kolkata but the other two were superb. The kababs were soft and melted in the mouth. We opted for Daab Chingri, Champaran Mutton, Murg Musallam and Karare Bhindi ki Raita along with rice and assorted breads. All the items were outstanding but Champaran Mutton was easily the best dish by a fair distance. The flavours were distinctly discernible and the quality of mutton was just perfect. The rotis were also nice except the garlic naan which we found to be having too much of dressing. Kashmiri roti was also pretty good. All the items combined equally well with rice and roti. Of course, the Daab Chingri must be taked with plain white rice. The prawns were absolutely fresh and just a hint of saffron in the gravy made it extra special. For desert, we asked for Pista Jam Pie, a perfect way to wind up the lovely meal. By the way, Taftoon has a lovely bar which offers lovely cocktails and mocktails apart from other standard drinks. One could try Coconut Almond Batida, it was very nice. Overall the dining experience was awesome. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, very well behaved and courteous staff and nice seating arrangements. It would certainly need a number of visits to taste other delicacies but that would mean a fairly big hole in one's pocket. The place is expensive but definitely worth it.

Last night me and my friends visited here. The ambience was really amazingly decorated. It looks so beautiful. The seating arrangement is super comfortable. The staff here was friendly and polite. Mr Mohit gives us best suggestions and those dishes was really outstanding. They welcome us with their warm drink called kashmiri kawa. It was really nice. In mocktails we ordered Cucumber cooler and Detox Potion. Both this are so much refreshing. In starters we had Mirza Hasnu Kebab and Galauti Kebab. Mirza Hasnu Kebab was old lucknow special dish. It is a boneless chicken marinated in tandoori and gently spice and slowly cooked. Galauti Kebab was really so soft. It was served on a roti. This dish was taste like heaven. I really loved this dish. In Mains we ordered Murgh Musallam. I have had one of the scrumptious murgh musallam till date. It was served with two different breads. One is the BaquerKhani Naan and another one is Laal naan. BaquerKhani naan was super soft and was found in local bakeries in kashmir. Laal naan was topped up with sesame seeds. It was really great. After murgh Musallam we ordered Kaibari Biryani. It is boneless chicken with basmati rice. It was really awesome in taste. In dessert we had Kaju ki Kulfi, Anjeer and Falooda. This dessert i like the most. Overall we had great time here. Their beautiful ambience and their best food was I likes alot.

Well tried this restaurant for the first time looking at all the reviews. Ordered chicken pakoday, akhrot ki seekh, sirka mirchi ki jaangh and salmon kebab The first 3 dishes were simply amazing and quite tasty. However quantity was less. However the salmon kebab was the most pathetic of all. Firstly its just fillet of salmon and not kebab. So it's wrongly mentioned as kebab. Secondly no where it was mentioned it will come with skin. It was smelling like yuck. And now the most important thing is the service. I do agree food is important but also the service. I clearly mentioned its my mother's bday. All they could have done is bring a small pastry. And even if u guys are miser and don't wanna spend penny then just a bday wishes would have done wonders. But u guys are least bothered. When I got this to notice of restaurant manager he said he will take up this matter. Dude u r the boss at that point of time. Whom will u take the matter with. He can't handle ur employees. And did u even had courtesy to then come and wish my mother. Absolutely crap and pathetic. Food was amazing but I get better food at thousands of places a restaurant is not just run by its food. Show some maturity guys. Will never recommend this to anyone

Nice ambience and great place. They opened their r restaurant earlier than their start date specially for Duff and Phelps . Appetisers in non veg are great. Maybe some more options could be for veg guys. I loved the place. Also if different genre of Music could be played, would be great.

One of the best fine dine restaurant I visited in Mumbai. Loved the overall ambiance. Staff was really polite and well behaved. Really impressed with the variety of food you get here right from Kabul to Kolkata. Highly recommended if you want to satify your taste buds.

Overall heavenly except for delivery time taken for food orders, must be initial teething issues as its newly opened but well compensated by very friendly & cooperative staff and heavenly flavours, just fear that prices arent hiked later as otherwise even extreme value for great food delivered

Guys my bro has started his another brand after oye kake and haqq se its taftoon do visit in bkc its taftooning

All was good. But the water bottle kept on the table was charged at 299 rupees. It should be told from the beginning that bottle water is not complimentary. If we want we can ask for normal water. That can cause less issues during billig

Awesome place.. Good food.. Quality service......

Very good ambience and both Veg and Non Veg starters and main servings were different and tasty with good variety of breads in different style.

I know this is a late post, very late actually, but have to do it, this restaurant deserves it! We were here on my father’s birthday, last year, on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. When we reached the restaurant, the whole area and surronding was deserted. I became a bit skeptical. We entered the restaurant and again we were the only people there. It kind of scared me of I’ve made the right choice or not! But since we had reached, we just decided to go ahead and dine here itself instead of going and searching for another restaurant!<br/><br/>Location: The restaurant is situated in the business hub of BKC, a very buzzing place at any point pf time. We were there on a bank holiday when all offices were shut, hence the lonliness!<br/><br/>Ambience: The decor is extremely chic and sophisticated with comfortable seating. This is the kind of place you visit for a festive celebration with family or a fun-filled time with friends.<br/><br/>Food: This was the best part. Extremely delicious lip-smacking food. Dont quite remember every item that we’d ordered, but everything we did was really good. Some items that I remember are the Chotey Choley Kulche, a chat item wherein the chef came to our table to make it fresh in front of us and serve us, Kashmiri Dum Aloo, and each of their breads (different, tasty and things you wouldn’t have had before). They even served us an amazing Mukhwaas platter at the end of our meal!<br/><br/>Staff: They were all extremely sweet and friendly and gave us very special attention! <br/><br/>This is definitely one of the best places wherein I’ve enjoyed the food heartily! Must go place people!

We have visited like so many times but called for delivery first time due to lockdown. Guess the chef & preparation has changed. Would not recommend delivery only if you wanna spoil your meal order. They charge a Hefty amount on each dish but cant maintain standards. Worst was the combo, paratha like a cement block, sabji of the day was foul smelling mix veg, rice were like made 5 days back and refrigerated so dry, had to chuck the whole thing, chicken appetiser tiny 4 pcs? Really? Either they send left overs or did the zomato rider ate? <br/>I got the order delivered after 2 hrs of ordering thats a different story all together. You pre pay on orders and u are bound to accept anytime they deliver, zomato as well takes u due advantage. The CRM chat is also useless.<br/>Highly disappointed!
Aditi Chakravarty
Hi Guys <br/><br/>Had ordered a combo meal from your end worth 450 . I had heard positive reviews and good words about your food but what I rcved today was abysmally disappointing, so bad that I had to throw 80% of it away. <br/>The paratha was hard as rock. The paneer matar absolutely bland , the rajma undercooked. The meal was hot so theres no excuse for the paratha to be rock hard. It was obviously stale and definitely NOT FRESH!<br/>No salads or accompaniments for a meal worth 450 is also quite underwhelming. <br/>I tried my best to not share this in stories. I understand lockdown is hard but lets face it its hard for EVERYONE . Those paying money expect basic edible meals. <br/><br/>If your service and output isnt upto the mark (which certainly isnt) then better not open the restaurant. <br/><br/>Extremely disappointed . An experience which will keep me away from not just taftoon but ordering in in general during covid.

What a brilliant job this place has done when it comes to putting together it's menu! Such a great blend of Indian dishes with a twist. Everything that we ordered was full of flavours. Loved the complimentary welcome drink in the form of Kahwa- traditional Kashmiri tea. The staff is very courteous and ever smiling. Especially loved their idea of keeping the tandoor section as an open one. Nicely done interiors. Can't wait to visit again and explore it's menu further!

This fine-dining restaurant with an attractive bar, takes you on a gastronomical journey across the Grand Trunk Road. The vibe is cheerful and the décor sophisticated yet, casual. The seating is well-spaced out and affords enough privacy and comfort. The menu is exhaustive, fairly unusual and enticing. Vegetarian options abound. The cold starters offered here are unique and perfect for the Mumbai weather. The food is robust and well-presented, with authentic flavours, albeit with a few hits and misses. The service is a bit slack, but the staff is polite and helpful.

Not at all child friendly even though had specifically called up prior to ask that it is a child friendly place or no. The manager was expecting my 3 year old to sit at 1 place and not move. Not that my 3 year old was roaming a lot and/or touching anything or troubling any1. Food also not great.

Ah! Last week I visited here about ambience, service will rate 5/5, about food must go with Galouti Kebab( fine chopped kheema and spice ) laal naam was too good crisp, we ordered Peer dhuan ghost it was okish completely ghee made off just that kewar flavor didn’t add much we didn’t that flavour or spice in food ., we actually wanted to order Rista ( must try ) but staff recommended peer dhuan,”Taftoon name itself mughali ., Kashmiri do not go with bong cuisine did not enjoy

Two mutton snobs I know went absolutely gaga over how beautifully the lamb in the biryani was cooked and couldn't stop praising the mutton seek kabab. So, I'd say.. Paisa vasool! We also ordered a starter made from purple yam, sweet potato & beet root. It was more on the lines of chaat, quite yummy. Lucchi stuffed with peas and a gravy with banana flower dumplings went really well together. Expected more from the dessert menu, but the only thing that half excited us was baked rosgulla. It was alright. <br/><br/>Taftoon is one of those slightly expensive restaurants in BKC but it really is worth it because the ambience is great, service is good and food delicious. Enjoyed those add ons like Kawa & assorted papads before the meal arrived and mukhwas platter post lunch. <br/><br/>Could you please have mineral water that is not priced at RS 230 a bottle as default option? <br/><br/>Loved everything else.
Karan Thakkar
Definitely a place worth a visit.must recommended for people who love to try new cuisine with a flavourful twist!! Kudos to the team!

A brilliant place for a quiet family dinner with delicious Indian food. If you go there pls ask the staff for their recommendations, they are simply bang on! <br/>Definitely coming here again.<br/>PS the appetizers chole kulcha and teen meri aloo are a must have 😀

Taftoon bar & kitchen has variety of dishes for both Veg and non Vegas lovers. Chefs choice dinner is amazing. I liked the experiment they do with different types of dishes. I liked the fish dishes very much. Overall this is a must visit place for food lovers. Awesome ambiance and very good service.

Taftoon Bar and Kitchen have some terrific food and some nice mocktails. The veg and non veg food was nice as well.
Vipin Goel
Service is very good and prompt. Food quality is very good although it seems overpriced. The concept is very unique however the staff recommends the regular food items only and not the ones unique to their place.
Ankita
We visited Taftoon yesterday for dinner. We had booked our table online so there was no hassle in that.<br/><br/>The ambience is warm and cozy however the place tends to get noisy when full. For the starters, we ordered dahi kebab and bharwan mushroom. While the mushroom was nice, i ddint like the dahi kebabs as much. Also the portions are very small.<br/><br/>For main course, we went for lal Rogani paneer and a non veg curry. The paneer was very nice.<br/><br/>I found the drinks highly overpriced and limited in variety. Service was great. Overall experience was decent, i found that it was a bit more expensive than what i would have liked...

Best Indian food in town! Excellent service and beautiful ambience. Gauloti kebabs are a must have.
SuuuperFooodie
I had recently visited this place with my friend. It has an outstanding ambience. The service was quite good over there. The place has good veg and non veg dishes. The dessert is the best part over here. The different food items I tried over here were:-<br/><br/>1) Afghani Mantu - Dumplings filled with minced lamb, onions, very few spices, steamed and topped with tomato-based sauce and garlic flavoured yoghurt sauce.<br/><br/>2) Chote Kulchey Chole - Mini masala stuffed kulchas topped with semi dry chickpea curry and pickles. Great Starter<br/><br/>3) Tawa Kheema Boti - Goat meat mince and chunks, shaved pink ginger, dhania, onions bhunaoed on a hot plate. Really tasty.<br/><br/>4) Baked Jaggery Rosogolla - Chena balls sweetened with jaggery, soaked in thickened milk and then baked. The best part in the meal was the dessert.<br/><br/>Overall a terrific to dine out with friends or family. I had a pleasant experience over here.

This restaurant was very authentic and the foods were very delicious as well and the ambience also seems to be quite beautiful. The food was very fresh and hygenic and the best part was the meat. We were at the North Frontier Cuisine expert - Taftoon and were so totally enamoured by the ambiance. Not just the ambiance but also the service and the food is just par excellence.<br/><br/>Taftoon stands for leavened bread and these guys serve Taftoon and everything else that goes well with and without it. The food is flavourful, has a tonne of well contributing spices and is bucketloads of deliciousness.<br/><br/>Here’s what we tried:<br/><br/>1. Kurkuri kand - a Rural haryana inspired sweet potato dish. It was topped with a whole load of beautiful veggies and served with tangy tamarind green chutney and sweet curd.<br/><br/>2. Chotey kulchey chole - an Amritsar typical, this had Mini masala stuffed kulchas topped with a chickpea curry and pickles.<br/><br/>3. Afghani mantu - this one id been dying to try for a while now. A Street food from Afghanistan it’s a lamb dumpling topped with a tangy sauce.<br/><br/>4. Galouti kebab - the Galouti Kebab was one of the best that we’d ever tried. This is a definite repeat and must try.<br/><br/>5. Kaali daal - this one is another must try with a mix of grains and lots of butter. Really flavourful.<br/><br/>6. Tawa Kheema boti - this was Minced meat minced and chunks of mutton with a really flavourful gravy.<br/><br/>7. Saag aur sabzi - The quintessential sarson ka saag with some fancy veggies finished with cream and white butter<br/><br/>8. Roti basket - the roti basket had Zaffrani taftoon, Lal naan and Baquerkhani.<br/>9. Baked jaggery rasgulla - the baked rasgulla was a delightful end to a brilliant meal.<br/><br/>Loved the food and service by mr. Amit was really great. Would highly recommend this place.

If you are in BKC and want to enjoy delicious food you have to select this outlet without any ifs and buts.<br/>Located on the 3rd avenue of BKC, it is located inside the building but google map will take you the right place.<br/>The road is one way and you have to bit careful.<br/><br/>Once we were inside we just enjoyed every bit of it.<br/>Ambience was mind blowing, they have kitchen and bar counter located at one side and seating arrangement around it. The big colourful tandoor is an attraction and you can see what chef is doing.<br/><br/>Food was as good as it’s ambience. They do have very wide range of menu.<br/>We had the following:<br/>Kurkuri Kand <br/>Mirza Hansu Tikka <br/>Tawa kheema Boti<br/>Kaali dal<br/>Lal Nan <br/><br/>All the dishes were delicious.<br/>Guys don’t wait to experience some good food.

Taftoon, name signifies of some very special dish along the Grand trunk road originates from Kolkatta , it's a basically somehow related to Persian word. When we thought of going to this outlet we had in  our mind that we will get something very special.<br/>First of Valet parking is available which really helped me a lot as looking for a parking in BKC is really difficult one.<br/>Ambience: Its an absolute mesmerising with all modern concept, lantern design of lighting is worth mentioning. Chair and Sofa are very comfy.<br/>The kitchen was in-front of us but behind the glass and we can see how the chef are preparing the food.<br/>Service: If I don't say anything about service, it won't be fair at all. Well dressed waiters and bartenders are always there to help you and select the require menu. Absolutely a top notch service.<br/><br/>Food: We were really hungry and wanted to enjoy the food.<br/>First of all we were served with Kashmiri Kahva in earthen pot, simply superb , taste was great.<br/>The papadam  was served with variety of chutney and special one was the green chutney. <br/><br/>Mocktails:<br/><br/>Appetisers: <br/>Kurkuri Kand : It was vegetarian delight made of crispy sweet potato, purple yam, beets, and was topped with tangy tamarind, green chutney and sweet. The taste was amazing.<br/>Kathal Ki Chapli: It was Raw jackfruit cutlet and hard to find any other place. The raw jackfruit was  minced then spiced with garam masala, kala namak, red chilli and asafoetida, cooked on a tawa. The aromatic spices fragrance so attractive that we jumped on this dish and finished in no time.<br/>Mirza Hansu Tikka: It was Chicken Tikka. The  boneless chicken marinated in tandoori spices, slow-cooked and smoked. <br/> Galauti Kebab: One of my favourite dish in Non-Veg section. Tender and minced lean mutton was blended with smoked, browned onion paste, slow-cooked on a mahi-tawa. The way it is being prepared makes it so delicious.<br/><br/>Mains: <br/>Tawa Kheema Boti :If its keema , it has to be goat meat. The meat was minced and chunks, shaved pink ginger, dhania, onions bhunaoed on a hot plate.  <br/>Goalando Steamer Curry: It was a chicken curry made in very different fashion. It was  yummy   <br/>Kaali Daal: Rajma and black urad, slow-cooked without onion or garlic, and very few spices.  <br/> <br/>In Bread section we selected some very different   <br/>Zafrani Taftoon: It was Oven baked, flavoured with saffron and a hint of black cardamom. <br/>Baquerkhani: It was Poppy- crusted, leavened bread baked in the oven, typically found in the local bakeries in Kashmir. <br/>Lal Naan: It was very crisp and long Amritsari bread laced with  flavoured chili oil and sesame seeds. <br/><br/>   <br/>Desserts: If you didn't have dessert after dinner, you can miss something, so we opted for  <br/> Baked Jaggery Rosogolla : The chena balls sweetened with jaggery, soaked in thickened milk and the baked. The best dessert I have till now.<br/><br/>FINAL VERDICT: Guys, its must visit outlet.

A warm welcome to the most admirable place in BKC. The beauty speaks here. Bright Ambient visceral ,the Cozy Interior and Gold lattern lights add a touch to beautiful positive vibe .<br/>As soon as you enter , you are welcomed with a big smile , given a seat and served with the Kashmiri Kahwa. What an fragnance it has. Just loved the tea.<br/>The food menu beautifully captures the essence of India and some other countries .<br/><br/>So we had some Murgh Hasnu Tikka and Chicken chaap . Both the appetizers had their unique taste .<br/>One of which, as soon as you eat, you will feel the royal tandoori food, and other had an amazing , less spicy taste , which made it more drool worthy.<br/><br/>In mains we had a Chicken Curry , an ordinary but yet tasty and kali daal ,sloowly cooked in spices. We had this with Zafrani taftoon and Laal Naan. Must say , the food is expensive but every good thing has a cost .<br/><br/>One of the very few restaurant have such good service and Food. Do visit .

Recently visited this place in Bkc, This is one of the finest place I've been to in a while, the ambience is more than just amazing. I mean wow. The view from the window was so perfect. Loved it. It has the perfect vibes for every occasion, be it a date, or casual meeting, lunch or dinner with your family or colleagues. I just love it. Service is pretty fast I would say. Also staff was very polite and friendly. So let's talk about the food, In drinks we ordered for, 1. Kashmiri kahwa 2. Apple iced tea 3. Orange ginger juice Loved all of them, the Kashmiri kahwa was amzballs. It was their welcome drink. In starters, 1. Kathal ki chapli : these were the petis made from jack fruit and it was bit spicy all the flavors were amazing. 2.kurkuri kand: So this was a starter made with fries of beetroot and potato served with curd . This was tasty. 3. Chotey kulche chole: Loved this starter. This is my personal favorite. Tasty chole served with small kulchas. Taste was so amazing. Couldn't stop eating. Mains, 1. Dom potoler Dolma: so this was a sabzi In which potatoes and gourds were stuffed with different and aromatic flavors. This was cooked in a mustard oil, butvtrust me didn't taste like mustard oil. This was okay. Not that great. 2. Saundhey methi wali sabzi: perfect combination of methi and panner. Mild spice and creamy taste, this is a must try. Highly recommended. 3. Kaali dal: Rajma and black urad dal cooked with garlic and chilly tadka. The after taste was ilaichi. Which was not that great but dal tasted amazing with rice. In breads, 1. Lal naan : the amritsari naan perfectly baked with amazing taste. 2. Baquerkhani : it is a kashmiri naan and worth a try. 3. Zafrani taftoon : oven baked with the taste of saffron and black cardamom. Gotta love this one. In mouthwatering desserts, We had , kaaju kulfi, anjeer falooda: I would totally suggest this one must try. Overall review for this place is 4.8/5, I personally loved the food and ambience. This is one of the best place to have Indian food. And try new breads and desserts. Also they have some amazing welcome drinks and in between drinks to change your flavors. Must visit.

Serving you Punjabi, Amritsari, Bengali, Kashmiri to Afghani, Pakhtooni, Awadhi and Lucknowi, this place serves you all the cuisines that are to be savoured. With the modern interiors, the beautiful ambience and the jazz playing in the background, this place is an experience altogether! The menu at Taftoon is one of the best I’ve seen as it is very well detailed and provides information of the place of origin of each dish.<br/><br/>Once we were seated, we were served the Kashmiri Kahwa which was a mix of Indian Spices, sweetened with Kashmiri White Honey and topped with sliced almonds, served to us in clay cups! What a beginning! <br/><br/>Beginning the meal, the cocktails that we ordered are: Date and Pineapple Sherbet, Egypt Hibiscus and Cranberry Iced Tea and Citrus Rosemary Sour<br/><br/>The starters that we ordered are: Mooli Ki Kachori, Methi Moringa ka Jheenga, Kandhari Koobideh, Chak Misari da Kukkad and Kurkuri Kand which were all so good. <br/><br/>Here we were served the Kachi Kairi Palate Cleanser to cleanse our taste buds for the next course. <br/><br/>Going ahead with the main course we ordered: Kathal Ki Chapli, Dom Potoler Dolma, Macher Kaliya and Gosht Mutanjan for the gravies along with some breads- Lal Naan, Zafrani Taftoon and Baquerkhani (each having a speciality of their own) and ended with the Mutton Biryani!<br/><br/>All this ended on a sweet note with Baked Jaggery Rosogolla and Hazel Gosh Feel.<br/><br/>The entire experience was a memorable one down the Grand Trunk Road at Taftoon!

Taftoon Bar and kitchen,<br/>We had been here last weekend with my friends. Easily located this place. This place is just awesome. The ambience and the music were classy. Service was prompt and quick.

We ordered Mirza Hafnu Tilka (not sure of name but chicken tikka), Galaoti Kebab and Laal Naan. All were recommend by server. Very average and definitely have eaten much better quality food. What disappointed me was the fact that the server recommended these items. <br/><br/>The beer - KF Premium - was not chilled appropriately so the taste was a bit off. As compared to when I have had the same beer at say Bayroute or Yazu quote recently the manner of chilling has been superior. These guys didn’t have a clue. <br/><br/>Loved their mint chutney which they gave with the complimentary papad. <br/><br/>In summary not worth it.

If you are the type of person who doesn't like to drink, loud music and disco lights but love to eat your dinner in mellow ambience enjoy your food then you have to visit taftoon which is located in BKC. Taftoon offers dishes from multiple cuisines but their speciality is kashmiri, lucknowi and bengali cuisine.<br/>Service of the restaurant is really good the staff is friendly, food is made fresh on order and served pretty fast. Also they offer complimentary welcome drink called kashmiri kahwa which is a kashmiri tea made with Rosewater, some herbs and dried fruits.<br/>And they also offer a palate cleanser made of some mint and rosewater. Both the drinks were absolutely amazing.<br/>These are the food items that i have tried and recommend you to try!<br/><br/>• kurkuri kand - this is an appetizer made of beet root, purple yams and sweet potato. Kand means root vegetables that's exactly what kurkuri kand is. It is fried crispy root vegetables served like a chat made with sweet curd, Tamarind chutney and mint chutney. This dish is something new you can try and won't get anywhere else.<br/><br/>• afghani mantu - one of the best appetizers you can get there. Afghani mantu are dumplings filled with minced lamb meat. The meat is so soft and flavorful and the topping of garlic flavoured curd sauce complements ot perfectly.<br/><br/>• Mirza hansu tikka - slow cooked boneless and tender piece of chicken marinated in their secret tandoori spices. As you take the bit it hits you with those spices and the meat just breaks apart in your mouth. The kebeb was very juicy and really flavourful. One of the must try appetizer in the restaurant.<br/><br/>• Goalondo steamer curry - the curry made from onion, turmeric and chillies and slow cooked chicken. The gravy was not really spicy but had a kick of spice in every bite.<br/><br/>• Zafrani taftoon - it is one of their creations. It is an Indian bread like a naan but has crispy semolina on one side. The side with semolina is so crispy that it is almost like a surmai rawa fry. The taftoon is chewy and really soft.<br/><br/>• Laal naan - it is the naan version of laal mas.<br/>Naan is topped with rogan and sesame seeds.<br/><br/>If you are near BKC and looking for a peaceful dinner, do visit taftoon!

Very poor experience<br/><br/>Began with very cramped table for 6, had added 2 chairs to a table for 4. Once we got seating fixed and ordered, food that cake was quite cold and flat / tasteless. The starter was served without chatnis that are supposed to accompany - by the time they got starter was already cold / some had just eaten without. <br/><br/>Main course again paneer and dal were cold (especially paneer). Paneer rogani was nowhere close to what was described (spicy and like rogan josh) and was very sweet. The mushroom sabzi was again tasteless <br/><br/>Second round of roti took long time to come and was incorrect order, just ate because were done waiting by then<br/><br/>Really sad to see how far this place had fallen, will not visit again

I visited Taftoon for dinner. The ambience was on point. The decor was mesmerising. The hospitality was also quite good. They have a variety of cuisines and whatever we ordered was delicious in taste and presentation.

We had a wide variety of delicacies here and all were great to the taste palate.<br/><br/>Kurkuri Kand , mooli ki kachori, kaali daal, laal naan, baquerkhani, baked jaggery rosogolla all were simply amazing .<br/><br/>Please please please visit this place for an amazing experience

Taftoon Bar and Kitchen is located at Bkc at a prime location. The ambiance is amazing and the decor is really very classy. They have decorated the place beautifully with wooden furnitures and beautiful lantern lights. They serve amazing North Indian, Bengali, Lucknowi, Kashmiri, and Bihari. I visited this place few days back with my friend and had a wonderful experience. I would love to visit this place again.<br/>Coming to what we had in food:-<br/>They have an extensive menu with variety of options . We were served kashmiri kahwa as our welcome drink. It was something new for us had the authentic kashmiri taste.<br/>For starters :<br/>We had chotey kulchey chole - Mini masala stuffed kulchas topped with semi dry chickpea curry and pickles. It tasted amazing and the kulchas were prepared in a very tasty way.<br/><br/>Kathal ki chapli - Raw Jackfruit, minced then spiced with garam masala, kala namak, red chilli and asafoetida cooked on tawa.<br/>Galauti kebab- Mutton was really soft, flavourful blended with smoked, browned onion paste, slow -cooked on mahi- tawa. This is a must try dish from this place..<br/><br/>Mirza Hasnu Tikka- Gently spiced, very fragnant, boneless chicken marinated in tandoori spices, slow cooked and smoked.. You are going to love this dish for sure.<br/><br/>Mains:<br/>Tawa kheema boti- Goat meat mince and chunks, shaved pink ginger, dhania, oniom, bhunaoed on a hot plate. Kheema boti is really luscious and tastes heaven.<br/>Goalondo Steamer Curry- Reminiscent of the quick curries made abroad steamers while crossing the seas, the base of onions, tumeric, chillies, red chilli powder . We combinecombined it with breads like zafrani taftoon, baquerkhani and laal naan. These were all different types of breads and all of them had a unique taste.<br/><br/>We had two mocktails as well at the start and ended our meal with some amazing desserts 😻😻Can't get over there dishes. Do visit this place they won't disappoint you with their food and hospitality.
