Review Jimmy Boy - Mumbai

viresh kumbhavdekar
This was first experience @ Jimmy Boy. We ordered Dhansak, the quantity of rice was little less, taste was good but could have been little spicy. The quality was good. For dessert we ordered caramel custard which was yummy. I would suggest one should visit for a different Parsi experience. Will look forward to visit this place and explore again.

A delightful little restaurant, with freshly cooked meals and some delicious-looking pastries and sandwiches to go. I had the keema with a sunny side up egg, and loved it. Staff are very friendly. Restaurant was empty when we arrived, but started filling up. Speakers had Elton John playing; a nice addition to our visit!

Mumbai has many Pasri food joints. Jimmy Boy is one such iconic restaurant in Fort area of city. Parsi food delights like Patrani Macchi (fish), Dhansak (Lamb cooked in Pulses), Berry Pulao and served with rice is specialty of Jimmy Boy; but there is lot more to explore here. Try their Farcha, Salli Boti, flavoured fizz drinks and several options for sweet dishes. Jimmy Boy is also very popular amongst international tourists who travel to main town for places of tourist attractions. Must visit place, that’s also reasonably priced.

Another Irani restaurant near the Ballard estate in Mumbai fort area This is by far the most ideal irani cafe to visit among others in Mumbai. The keema pav served here has surpassed the original rank i gave for kyani & co's keema pav as #1 in irani restaurants (so far) keema pav had a more balanced taste instead of being either too spicy or too sweet. 190/- keema ghotala pav is probably the more better option. quantity is enough for one person. masala omlette and bhurji is also very tasty. the interior of this place is to be much more appreciated as it's well maintained & clean. something we take for granted these days with most of the irani restaurant kept in ruins for 'historic' reasons. here they Do accept UPI payments. ✅ while other such places have a strict cash policy. definitely recommend.

During my recent trip to Mumbai, visited this infamous joint in Fort for their 'Berry Pulao'. It was definitely worth the visit as they use actual irani berries as opposed to others who use raisins instead. The berries along with the mutton balls made for an incredible experience. To help compliment all those flavours, we ordered the classic Pallonji Soda. Rounded off the experience with the Caramel Custard! The staff were very hospitable and were prompt to deliver the orders with a smile. Definitely a must visit for a great hearty meal!

One of the Finest Parsi restaurants in Mumbai. Very clean and well maintained place from the inside. Food quality and service was great. Loved the chicken kheema and mutton cutlets. Chicken Farcha was too oily, and Dhansak rice was average. Pallonji’s Soda is a must as always. Only downside is the price. We found it too expensive as compared to other Parsi cafes. Must visit for the ambience and aura of the place.
Ameer Muhammed N
One of the best parsi food serving restaurants in town. But a little expensive. After all good one to suggest.
Rahul Manchanda
The air conditioned upper deck is comfy. And wasn’t too crowded, even though it was the semifinal match day. Jardaloo Salli Boti was the juiciest mutton I ever had. Zatar bread was probably missable. Ginger soda had a very sharp kick, the sweetness, laced with ginger sharpness, that hit me even before I sipped it. So to the brave hearts, be careful. Dint try their berry pulao, which may be a reason to go back.

Jimmy Boy, a timeless gem! Their Khemma Pav, a burst of flavors, and the Berry Pulav, a delightful surprise. Oh, and the Caramel Custard, simply yummy! The staff was also Friendly and always ready to assist. A true classic!

Jimmy Boy is an old iconic Irani restaurant. It has got an old school charm. They serve equally good sweet as well as savoury dishes. The staff are well behaved and suggest very good food options. Their service is also very fast. All of their foods are good however, special mention needs their Prawn Patties, Berry Pulao and Mawa Cake.
Riya
A quaint little cafe located near the fort premises. Well maintained and tidy. The burrata toast that I had ordered was a delectable delicacy with lingering flavours of a well made pesto sauce, some green olives and tomatoes, topped with a thick blob of cooling burrata. The only downside was the quantity which was modest and scant for a breakfast. Subsequently, I decided to try the classic brun maska which made up sufficiently for the burrata toast. A crunchy brun with melting butter to leave your taste buds yearning for more. Coming to the staff, they were very cordial and polite and catered to all your needs as efficiently as they could. Overall, I’d visit again for a good Sunday brunch!

Amazing vintage place which serves authentic Parsi cuisine. The staff is humble and makes recommendations. I had ordered Lagan nu vegetable stew with Parsi bread. The food was really tasty and different. Location is easily accessible.

Perfect destination for Parsi food. Service is decent as we found out during our visit for lunch. We had - Prawns Berry Pulao, Keema Pao and Zattar Roti, Patra Ni Machchhi, Lagan Nu Custard along with a couple of Pallonji Ice Cream sodas. The place is a bit expensive but I found the fare worth it.

Service was quick and good. We like the kheema Pav, chicken gravy cutlet was good and the omelet was good. We did not like the crispy bun, chicken puff and chocolate croissant. Carrot cake was delicious and mango cheesecake was ok

I always wanted to visit Jimmy Boy because of the cult display of the beloved cultural Parsi community. I finally conquered my wishes. We went for dinner on a weekend which was packed with diners but I was lucky to get a seat of my choice. The entire restaurant has an old vintage Bombay vibes that can only be found in the lanes of SOBO. From the menu, we picked Chicken Farcha, Prawns Berry Pulav, and pushed those noshes with Raspberry and Masala Soda. The restaurant is 96 years old and continuing its legacy with modern day food habits and like of the patrons. You must surely visit for a rustic old school experience.

A great budget friendly place to explore Parsi Cuisine.. The ambience gives you the heritage nad iconic period of Mumbai very well located and connected to CST station. Try there Berry pulao, Mutton dansak, and gulp it down with must try Raspberry Soda.. Perfect place to enrich your taste buds!!

It had been more than a decade since my last Parsi meal and MAN did I miss it! Luckily, we had a brief stopover in Mumbai and that gave us the chance to savour this little gem of a restaurant in Colaba. We had a very filling meal, including a drink, starter and dessert, for INR 1100 and that was great value for money. Definitely come on down and try their vast selection of pastries and the snack shop as well.
Sunny Gangar
We ordered Veg Berry Pulao and Veg Dhanshak for meal. The food was sumptuous. We did actually finish the whole things pretty fast. For dessert I ordered Mango Cheesecake and it was best thing I ever tasted!
Anujay Pandya
Food awesome, Quality and Quantity both are very good. One of staff Sahu bhai is very gud person and always ready to serve best food on table. I'm die heart fan of Veg Berries Pulav and Masala Soda.

Excellent set lunch for a great price for Parsi New Year yesterday. Highly recommend this place for it's Parsi food. I will certainly visit it again and again!!
Siddharth Rangnekar
Best place to enjoy vegetarian Parsi fare. Their Lagan Nu Bhonu is a must have. Their Indian Food selection is also nice, especially their paneer dishes. Some may find Jimmy Boy a tad expensive but their quality and consistency is good. Also spare some time at their bakery; the Rich Dense Mawa Loaf is the best I have ever tasted. Ambience is that of a Irani Café with songs of the 80's and 90's.
Kishore Babu
One of the best food patrani machi and salli per eddu I love this food, And your Bristol bakery buns are very tasty, which is located in mahim, Your old staff abdull cha-cha is very trusted person, I think he is no more, All staff are new there,
Chinmay Ranade
Being Parsi New Year, the menu was limited to Parsi thali. Food was served in good quantity and variety and was quite tasty. We'd be back to try other food items on the menu!
Nivedita Sadwelkar
Extremely delicious food and accompanying dessert was also very tasty. Good quantity and non spicy. Very good service ( polite and concerned waiters) . The best part is a Thali could be shared by all , as it is served in that manner to all, very gratefull for this sharing gesture. Only spacewise the upstairs is a little cramped.
Vivek Dey
Great food but avoid going on weekend as the rush is too much and you might end up getting served warm food rather than hot.. Anyways its a amazing place..
Vijay Bhide
Excellent food quality...A must visit place for anybody wanting to enjoy Parsee food
Deepika Malhotra
Yummy food...served with smiling and well behaved staff...beautyful ambiance. There mutton pulao is classic...it just melts in mouth

I had my first meals in Jimmy Boy in 2015 along with my daughter, and always wanted to visit it again.Wonderful eating joint with a family aura and caring staff
Anil Moniz
Delicious Parsi food. Polite and helpful staff. Good music. The Raspberry and Ice Cream sodas from Pallonji's bring back memories. Dhun Dal & Fish Patio, Patra Ni Machhi and the Fish Curry Rice was great and sufficient for 4. Even though we were stuffed we still ordered our favourite Caramel Custard. Go Eat.
Sandip Osta
Had an amazing meal. Been almost 2 years but still remember the taste of their mutton berry pulao and Salli boti. Also had their Lagan u custard. Amazing meal.
Sujit Wilfred Pinto
Authentic yummmy mind blowing Parsi bonu!!! That sums it up

Town side restos have their own charm ! And one such place is Jimmy Boy ! From their Parsi cuisine to their bakery and their cakes and cookies. Everything is yummyyyylicious ! You cannot afford to miss their food. They serve best puffs and sandwiches too.
Akshay Kharbanda
The ambience of Jimmy Boy is typical of most Irani cafes - rustic and frugal. It has the old Bombay charm. It has a very extensive menu to start with but what I particularly don't like is that it is expensive for what it offers. The Sali Boti is great and so is the Keema Pav. The Caramel Custard isn't the best and I think Kyani beats it by a mile. The Chicken Cream Shahi Roll, Chilly Chicken Puff, Herbed Veg Puff and Rasberry Soda are great. The staff is inconsistent - somedays they are great whole on somedays not so good. If only they focussed on customer service a little bit more, the experience could improve drastically.
Vedant
Brilliant chicken farcha and patri ni machi. Great selection of sodas to go with the food and fine pulao. Even the lagan nu custard is spectacular to finish with a good dessert.
Foodie Cavalier
Superb place to have some snacks. Very hygienic, very polite staff, unique taste of each and every product. It's more popular for non vegetarians. But I enjoyed Veg food also.
Viraj Chauhan
We had a parsi cuisine hogging marathon and found this place to have one of the best taste .
The ambience is good -cafe/ for family .
Service was warm and welcoming
They had a multiple cafe options for food as well as parsi cuisine options
We had
Lagan nu custard
As good as it can get , not soo sweet , perfect texture with good taste .
2) chicken dhansak
It was served with chicken kebabs , brown rice and chiken drumsticks in dhansak .
The chicken was tender , spices were in perfect amount and was lip smacking .
3) sodas
Raspberry ,ginger and jeera
Nidhi Gupta
Not very impresed... found the quality not great, staff not cordial as well as overly priced. half the things were not available. the warmth of the parsi eateries was missing bigtime.
Mehul Bhatt
A small cosy cafe in Fort area. With quiant interiors and friendly staff, the place has a few ideal tables on the ground floor and an extended air conditioned seating arrangement on the first floor.

The food spread is commendable, taste is really good and service is quick too. One of the best places in the city to explore traditional Parsi cuisine. They have a good offering of freshly prepared desserts and brewed Lavazza Coffee.

The pricing is a little aggressive as compared to other Parsi food joints in the area but considering the hospitality and quality provided, Jimmy Boy is definitely worth a try.

Food - 5/5
Hygiene - 5/5
Service - 5/5
Price - 4/5
Location - 5/5

Go thre often . The kababs aree good and so is the Parsi food. The place is always crowded and has a crowded menu too. May get a bit expensive for the quatity. So ya its not a must . But in the vicintiy casual meal go here.
Kevin Fernandes
Amazing parsi cuisine. Visited this place for breakfast, ordered for Kheema ghotala, Masala ankhuri, Mutton dhansak and definitely bun maska.
Ratings.
Kheema Ghotala - 10/10
Masala Ankhuri - 8/10
Mutton Dhansak - 9/10
Bawa experience - free..!!!
Reasonably priced, comfortable ambience.
Must try their specials and bakery items too.
👍🍻🍻🍻
Foodoholic Pooja
We wanted to go to Britannia and Co for Berry Pulav and Dhansak but unfortunately it was closed so we came over to Jimmy Boy after reading some good reviews.
Berry Pulav was OK but the Dhansak wasn't really what we expected, we have had much better Dhansak better. Cheesecake was tasteless, Caramel Custard tasted weird. Though the restaurant was empty the waiters acted very busy.
I think there are many other better Parsi places to enjoy the authenticity of this cuisine.
I do not recommend this cafe for the bill we paid and the food we had.
Izaz Ansari
The food is good. I liked the veg kebab. My friends who were eating non-veg complemented the mutton kebab and highly recommend to anyone visiting this Parsi restaurant. Liked the blueberry pastry/pie. The serving was quick, no long waiting. Right next to BSE. Has a good ambience. A small and lovely place that reminds you why Mumbai is colourful.
Vinisha Moolya
This is a family friendly restaurant. Situated bang in the middle of one of Mumbai's oldest neighborhoods, the place has managed to keep the old world charm intact.
Now, let's talk about the food.
Mutton biryani - Tender and juicy mutton pieces cooked to perfection with the best of spices harmoniously melding with the aromatic rice, this was an absolute treat.
Berry Pulao - The mutton pieces were cooked till tender and melded perfectly with the aromatic, spiced up rice.
Kheema Pav - This was one of the best plates of kheema I have ever had. It had the right ammount of spice to meat ratio. The delightfully soft pav was from the restaurant's very own bakery.
Raspberry Soda - This classic Pallonji raspberry soda has become an integral part of this city's Parsi legacy. This vibrant-pink coloured, violently sweet liquid would feel an oddity if had elsewhere but when in an Irani cafe it just feels natural.
Mutton Biryani - This too had cooked-till-tender, juicy chunks of meat along with mildly spiced rice.
Hazelnut Cheesecake - The creamy texture of the cheesecake paired with the nuttiness of the hazelnut works really well. Mind you, this is not to be had on an extremely full stomach. This is a very heavy dish in itself and hence advisable to be had after a light meal.
Chocolate Pie - Crispy crust and ooey-gooey chocolate. Need I say more?

All in all, this is was a wonderful place to have a late lunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Arpit
Went there after 20 years... one server ... he said if we order cheese toast we have to wait for long time as they have delivery orders. When asked for cutlets.. he took the order and comes after 10 min and says... no more cutlets left. Overall he did not care to offer anything and just left the menu on the table... what a terrible experience from once a great place. Staff completely uninterested in service. Finally left without eating... had 2 senior citizens with us.
Will never go there again.
Manjushree Pai
We reached on Sunday noon at 3.20. The hazel eyed manager quickly looked at his watch as we entered. Insult 1. He greets us with "we will close at 4, please order once and for all". Insult 2. At 3.40 all the staff were getting anxious and the Chef actually came out of the kitchen to see the crowd.
Such shitty attitude? We in corporates work 9 to 11 and are expected to not complain.
Food was nice but, very expensive
Shradha Ankam
An old Paris restaurant serving authentic food. We ordered the meal which had all the variety which we wanted to try in from the Parsi menu. There was patra fish, dhansak gravy, chicken sali, mutton rice (sort of a biryani), fried potato crisps roti n papad and custard in dessert. Food taste and quality was not all that great, as the taste of all the dishes was very bland. The best part was the fried potato which we added to the chicken sali gravy, it gave a very nice taste to the whole dish. Fish was okay not all that great. Custard was cold out of the fridge.

The nice place in town to enjoy authentic and sumptuous Parsi food, you ought to be here for sure...Mind you this place is not that big and hence you get here in time to reserve your seat. Once done then you are in for a treat...
Have been to this place a number of times and they have never disappointed one single bit. The Parsi cuisine they serve is seriously authentic and leaves you licking fingers...do not worry about what others think of you as everyone around does the same :) The seafood, chicken, mutton everything they serve here is super fresh, no need to have any doubts. The Patrani Macchi (pomfret) is one stuff you ought to have. The fresh seafood and the marinate makes it really sumptuous. Our starters included Kebab Kobideh, Chicken Gravy Cutlet with fresh pao and Kheema Gotala. They were super to start off our culinary journey. For the main course, we ordered the Mutton Berry Pulao which was sufficient for us. During our previous visits, we have tried Salli Chicken, Chicken Farcha, Chicken/Mutton Dhansak Dal with Brown Rice and everything never let us down. This is indeed a super place for Parsi Irani cuisine. The desserts this time were a mix of everything...we ordered for Caramel Custard, Lagan Nu Custard, Chocolate Cheesa Cake and the Choco Chip Muffin.
Just a piece of advice for this place is make sure you are in time to avoid waiting for your turn. Order dishes in time as some take longer to prepare specially the Mutton dishes. You can also enjoy the drinks of the by-gone era here....The Pallonji Raspberry Soda, Ginger Lemon. It lets you relive your childhood again.
Ambiance: 4.0/5.0
Food: 5.0/5.0
Service: 4.5/5.0

Fleas throughout the restaurant. Not a clean place.
Carol Pereira
We ordered a plate of fish popcorns and fries. The portion is embarrassing for the price it is served at. We didn't dare to order any further. The service is bad too, considering the restaurant was half empty while we were there. Please reconsider the portion being served.
Reeya Sengupta
We bought plum cakes from jimmy boy around Christmas, one of the best plum cakes i ever had. Thanks jimmy boy. Also keema pav is mandatory... good stuff. Restaurants ambiance is plain and basic. The tea was a bit sweet though.

Love it
Suraj Nair
Great place to try out authentic parsi food. Lagan nu thali was sumptuous and enough for two. Ordered it with patra nu macchi which was a little bit spicy and saali murg(this was fabulous). Also tried the Berry pulav which was more like Kashmiri pulav. Try the customary bum maska and caramel custard. Overall a decent place.
CULINARY LEGEND
Outstanding breakfast, thoroughly enjoyed the Akuri and Kheema.
Neha Makode
Wanted to try mutton cutlet gravy.. after searching found this old cafe serving it.. n I must say it was amazing experience.. the mutton cutlets were melting in mouth.. ambience is completely different.. berry pulav was also good but not upto expectations.. rasberry soda is also must try thing.. and caramel custard Damm good.. parsi food is incomplete without it.. must visit place..
Anish G
Seemed over hyped. Likes the ambience and vintage feel though.

It was my first time here and the drink in pink is rasberry soda recommendations of a friend which i tried and it got me back in my childhood days and the mouse and pinnaple upside down it was really fresh and good. Visiting this place again

This place is one of my favorites when it comes to parso cuisine .every parsi dish is so well made and the feel to sit in this restaurant just makes you go back in time to olden times .also apart from kheema paav I love the custurd which is really really good .service is fabulous .must go if you are in town and you love parai food
Kelly Jasoomoney
Amazing quantity! The chicken club sandwich is huge and enough for 2 people from 1 quantity. The chicken spicy burger was average. Cold coffee was great.
Parjanyu Perumbeti
This place will make you realize what Mumbai Vibe used to be 1970-1980s
The music played is of that era, the food is historically parsi cuisine, the vibe is just unbelievable everyone staying in Mumbai have to visit this place. Or they would have missed part of history.
Siddhesh Pandit
It is very good for authentic Parsi food.. We ordered Chicken Kabab which was very tasty. We also ordered Jardaloo salli chicken which was their specialty. Overall delicious food.
Aayushi Mishra - Carb Nation
This a a place with a touch of Vintage Irani or Parso food joint! We tried the ‘Berry pulav’ which according to us wasn’t that great! But we loved the place overall! Also they serve Pallonjis famous drinks which are available at very few restaurants as of now!
Anushka Barve
Authentic interiors, nice ambience, good music!
Love the food as well!
Love their Akhuri cheese toast, mutton cutlet with gravy and kheema Pao!
Food is reasonably priced as well!
Debojit Bhowmick
Ok. So to start off, the most unique tasting soda I have ever had, was from this place. I might visit the place again just to have the ice-cream soda again, it was that good. The other food we ordered included Berry polao and misal pau. The turnaround time is quick, very good for group of friends and definitely a must go for parsi cuisine.
Prerona (foodbyprerona)
The service is not good. Thought it's a good place. Even after the bill, they have me wrong change. The food was ok ok. Served Badly. Poor ambience. Didn't like it at all
Remika Roy Chowdhury
Amazing food! A cozy old world charm situated in fort, it is clean, cozy and simple. We ordered mutton cutlet (5 stars, amazingly tasty), chicken cheese balls (4 stars, hit and fresh), mutton dhansak dal (5 stars, simple and hearty), chicken salli (3 stars, a little sweet and masaledar for my taste), mava cake (+10 stars, unbelievably soft and tasty) and caramel custard (2.5 stars, it was good but not my type).
Definitely visit for tasty food!
Souvik Saha
Went there on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The ambience is of a typical Parsi cafe. Tried Berry pulao, Chicken Farcha and Caramel Custard. Had better Berry Pulao at Britannia, but the consistency of all the dishes were good. Caramel custard was very good.
Look to be back soon for more dishes.
Jerin Joseph
Jimmy Boy is a Good place for you all Foodies out there to get a taste of what parsi food is all about!! For starters we had kebab which wasn't a blast, but still made trough the way. We had parsi delicacies salli Boti and berry pulav both in chicken. The salli Boti is a great go with roti and berry pulav to top your belly with a nice cliche touch! I didn't have time to order for more!! But with what I had... 4 stars is must!!
Lydia Gomes
Amazing food! Everything was perfect. A bit on the pricey side though.
The berry pulao is a must have. Would definitely go back to try more stuff on the menu.
Poohb18
I had ordered home delivery of deserts. Was hunting for authentic custards ... Jimmy boys caramel custard is mind blowing. . . Lagu na custard also lived up to the expectations . . . Will look forward to try other dishes
Yashwagh281
My wifes cousin wanted to have some local parsi food and we decided to give this place a visit.
What a treat!
The mutton cutlet was so soft that it melted when we cut it
The biryani the dhansak keema pav and salli boti ( must have dish) were superb !
The service was prompt and a meal for 5 where we ate till we exploded cost us just 2200 !
Shivani
Laidback place in the bylanes of horniman circle. Headed in here one hungry evening to stuff my face with some baked goodies! Loved loved loveedd their mushroom cheese quiche, and the cheese garlic croissant! It was sooo good! Great amount and perfect balance of the mushroom cheese and the garlic cheese. Usually the cheese is either too little or way too much, but this was great, and was filled properly so i wasn’t just munching on bland pastry.
And their tea OMG! I took the first sip and went into tea heaven! Needless to say, I had another one of those! Bhaiyya please one more cup!!
Legendary place for a reason!
Meru Vashisht
My introduction to Parsi food & I am so glad it was with such delicious food. The Berry Pulao is a must have! Will visit again & again. Worth the price.
Indorifoodiee
We heard that it is one of the oldest restaurant of the city.. It is also said that many celebrities including jrd tata himself used to come here because of their parsi cuisine.

You must try dhansak and bakery items here.. They have mawa cake, some snacks and cakes are totally yum.

We always prefer Jimmy boy over theobroma because of their wide variety and freshly prepared cakes.

They can prepare the cake within 20 mins that too in front of you so you can rest assured of the quality. You can even get it customised as per the requirement.

Aryan Patel
The taste is very good the quality is the best but the price of the dishes is too high and the portion is also very small they must increase the quantity of the portion and also decrease the prices
Rani
Authentic parsi food. The Salli boti is to die for..bun maska and chai is good. Mutton dhansak was average, a little bland. Service is quick. A special mention of Sagar, very knowledgeable and prompt in his service. Overall a happy tummy..
Tanjul Sarkar
Good place. Ambient done right.
Since it's an authentic Parsi restaurant, patra ni macchi is a must try.
I ordered for egg curry with rice. Pretty decent in taste. Liked it.
Caramel custard wasn't upto the mark .
Tiramisu coffee tastes nothing tiramisu, not even a mild flavour.
They've pretty good seating area both ground floor and top floor.
Sundays they close around 4pm.
Service is quick.
Try their chilly cheese toast.
Neerja Gandhi
Small, cute, cozy place! Parsi joint - old world charm... Nice pastries and of course the raspberry soda! Mind blown! Very less veg options but nice food
Vishal Sinha
Excellent Food.. Had Chicken Cutlet with Fries, Apple Pie, Blueberry Pie, Chocolate Pie and Caramel Custard. I must say that Caramel Custard is one of the best in town. Simply loved it!

If you are a foody, then this is a right place for you. The staff members are also very polite and helpful.
Priyana Bora
Jimmy Boy is a bit over hyped I feel.I didn't have a bad experience there, but didn't have a good one either.
Food is average, the very famous Berry Pulao failed to create a wow experience for me.Ambience is passable,I got some kind of bad smell on their air conditioned first floor seating area. The staff is quite friendly though.
Went for the name, probably never going again!
Natalie Chowdhury
Recently revisited this eatery for a takeaway, the luxury of dine in experiences being lost to COVID.
Everything they make is done fabulously well.
The garlic cheese croissant is very soft and has filling upto the last bite. One can really taste the garlic so it isn't just an overdose of cheese. This is how a garlic cheese croissant ought to be made.
The chicken mayo sandwich is delicious. It is the old school/classic version without any novel 'twist' ruining it. Just soft white bread (without sides) with a very subtly flavoured chicken filling drenched in mayonnaise.
The chicken patties, which seem more like puff pastry, are fantastic. Creamy chicken stuffing encased within layers of flaky pastry firm enough not to start disintegrating or falling apart at each bite.
The mutton cutlets are crisp on the outside and firm on the inside. The fries that are served along with the cutlets are absolutely fresh and have a crunch.
The choco lava cake has a delicious crust and a soft, gooey centre. Just how it should be.
All the fare we ordered were fairly regularly available items, nothing really fancy. This eatery does them so well that a lot of other eateries serving similar items could use these as a template and learn from them
If you’re doing a tour of the popular Irani restaurants in downtown Mumbai, you cannot miss Jimmy Boy. Strategically located, it is one of the restaurants that has renovated with time keeping their customers in mind. Modestly priced, their food more than makes up for every bit of hype you’ve probably heard about Jimmy Boy
Parthasarathi Mondal
It's a great place for no nonsense Parsi food! Great taste, good portions, unobtrusive service. This is a place for serious eaters! Loved it!
Marjorie Marabe
Visited Jimmy Boy the other day when me & my partner wanted to try authentic Parsi cuisine. Let me start by the ambience of this place. Don’t expect a lot in that department. They have two section one being AC & the other one being the non AC section. We reached the place post lunch time i.e 2.45pm & were informed by the staff that the AC section is only open till 3pm. Post that seating is only available in the Non AC section which is weird. Also tandoori items are not available post 3pm🤷🏻‍♀️

Coming back to the food. We ordered Non veg lagan nu bhonu, mutton kebabs & the very famous Mutton Berry Pulao.
1) Non-veg Lagan nu Bhonu: If you wanna try Parsi food without breaking a hole in your pocket then I suggest going for this. You get 4rotis, choice of biryani, patra nu fish, chicken gravy, choice of dessert & assortment of snacks for just Rs.845.
2) Mutton Kebabs: These were very different kinda mutton kebabs. It looked more like tikkis than kebabs. They are very heavy & taste is quite average. It was very a tad bit dry from the inside.
3) Mutton Berry Pulao: This was the star of the show. The mutton in the pulao was so tender, creamy & flavourful. It has a bit of tanginess due to the berries they put in the pulao.

Overall Jimmy Boy was a nice experience but we were kinda disappointed since it let us down taste wise. It didn’t stand to the hype that it gets.
Esha Singh Bhadoria
It is not a place to visit in summers.. as they have closed their ac section which is on mezzanine floor for whole afternoon.. what is the point of having an ac section when your customers ateadr to sit in local fans and ceiling fans which aren't airy enough too.. they open their ac section for lunch and dinners only. So be aware if u enter at 3 something and are hungry u will be sitting in hot weather with parsi food.
Now that was about ambience.. about food.. we ordered masala akuri, masala soda, pineapple pastry, and cheese chili toast.
Masala akuri I rate it as 1 no taste at all..
Masala soda their recommendation was the version of got soda u get on notmal roads which wasn't chilled to a decent temperature too.
Pineapple cake was really decent on tongue and taste.
Cheese chili toast had no chillies .. lol.
The waiters we're good.. very good.
The place is really hyped .. once it is tagged legendary it should maintain the standards at least .. wouldn't want to visit again.. this one was a sour memory

A fan of a parsi-themed anything,
So it was but obvious to try this place.

The staff, good
Food, really nice; plus the options and variants are really intimidating
Taste was real good too.
The bakery is also a pleasant treat.
Just the price to food ratio is a bit high. Just a bit.

AMBIENCE, as you would expect, from a typical Parsi midas touch. Well-suited, nice to be.

Overall a decent place to visit, only for the Parsi touch.

Awesome Parsi Food. The Parsi Bhonu is a must have. If you want to have parsi food come to Jimmy boy. Another must do is to order Rasberry to drink along with food.

A Parsi, Bawa food place very good option for lunch for all working ppl around , keema pac is staple , white clothes staff take you in old gold days . Delicious menu option served
Pai
Vegetable cutlet served with fries is better than anywhere. Pallonji's raspberry soda is a must try. Polite staff, excellent service & the authentic Bombay ambience. My personal favourite in Fort.

A quintessentially Bawa/Parsi/Zoroastrian place that takes you back in time. In some sense, the equivalent of Koshy's in Bangalore; Jimmy boy is great for a working lunch during the week or even for a good lunch with family and friends on the weekend. Known for its Keema Pav, Berry Pulao, Raspberry Soda, Caramel Custard or even the iconic thali/meal which is big enough to satisfy the hunger of even those with the biggest appetites. Characterized with the typical white uniformed service staff answering the manager at the ring of his waiting bell, the place takes you back to a simpler time; allowing you to escape from all your worldly problems with some simple yet absolutely delicious food.

Heavy Breakfast and Parsi Food Lovers!!! The wait is over! Try the delicious Kismus Bun with a soulful cup of Tea along with Sali per Edu and a tongue pleasing Mutton Kheema! The Mutton Kebab is so soft and the Berry Pulao here is amazing too! Desserts like Caramel Custard and Lagan nu Custard is really tasty! This place is worth the hype people. Try it out!!!

This is a Parsi restaurant with finger licking good food. We tried their sully Boti and trust me , it was the best I ever had. Good service, ambience and amazing food. Loved the berry pulav and were literally licking our fingers. Do try their caramel custard and vanilla soda. Will love to explore more next time.

So parsi food on mind.. among the top places comes Jimmy Boy 🙂 at fort and oh yeah we did go all the way from Andheri to fort to eat yummy food 😋
To begin with the place gives u a vibe obviously of an old South Mumbai building n feel to it with the interiors , chairs lights etc..down u sit in normal atmosphere and upstairs with a/c. Once you are seated u get to the menu which comprise of 2-3 pages of parsi food followed by Indian cuisine..
To begin with the food we first ordered mutton kheema pav..which was simply awesome as the kheema was really well made and had a creamy texture to it..so did the pav which was unlike the normal ones u get outside being completely in house made. Next on our palate was mutton berry pulao and jardaloo Salli chicken which again was really yummy with flavor sinking in your mouth in each bite 🤤 worth the try.. To go along with food we ordered raspberry soda and Ice cream soda which gave us childhood memories of soft drinks which wasn't Coke or fanta. ☺️ It was really really amazing drinks . Last but not the least we offered desserts.. as we entered we got to see freshly made desserts which made us tempted enough to try them.. so we ordered Caramel custard and mango cheese cake . Custard I would say was among the best ones you could have in Mumbai whereas cheese cake was good but not really cheesecake type.
So overall we had an amazing time munching on yummy food and thus am overall rating of 4.5 🙂

This place was on our radar for quite a while owing to its legacy. Will cut it short and sum it up to what mattered.

Food:
😍 Brun Maska: Its often astonishing how the simplest of things could blow your mind and take you back to the most nostalgic memory lanes. Ultra-soft bun with raisins slathered in butter, undoubtedly the best bun-maska that we've had.

😐 Mutton Dhansak: Mildly spiced brown rice served with mutton curry. The rice was noticingly bitter on palate, the gravy was okay as well. The mutton had a nice bite to it, not melt in the mouth though. Overall, an average fare.

😊 Mutton Berry Pulao: A bright yellow rice, served with meatballs on the side, the rice cooked in mutton stew and dal complimented the tanginess of the berries well. This was good!

😍 Mutton Cutlet: Undisputed champion of the day along with our beloved Brun Maska. The exterior crisp, the interior moist and soft. The perfect blend of spices. We could eat ten of those in one go! This was heavenly.

Desserts:

Keeping it short.

😐 Brownie: Dry and lacked the sponginess.

😊 Choco lava: Was good! Ample chocolate sauce.

😊 Apple Pie: Good but soggy crust.

Well this. Place is decent very old. Look to the place but the food is decent not as good as britannia but i wont complain the chicken jardalu was good, lagan sara veg dish tasted bad, I guess did not suit my taste buds over all i. Will give this place a 3.

Been a frequent visitor to the outside stall of Jimmy boy. It's an attractive display of a variety of food and very reasonable prices. There's a little bit for everyone! They have their own version of Parsi snacks and the originals! It being very close to many people's work space, I'll see alot of lawyers and bankers coming there for a quick bite. The spread consists of sweets, fruits, cakes, puffs, rolls, sandwiches and alot more!

Food: 5/5 I've literally have had everything on the menu atleast once. But my favourite is the chilli chicken puff! Can't get enough of that. Honorable mentions to the apple pie, the murg masala sandwiche and the paneer chilli puff. Everything tastes really good. I really don't think u could go wrong with anything.

Prices: 5/5 very reasonable! Used to go there as a college student and I still go there whenever I pass by. Since the food is served out. There's no service charges. Ur just paying for the product. And the price range from 30-100

Ambience: 4/5 it's sheltered. The area is breezy theres enough space for a decent amount of people to stand and eat around.

Service 5/5 there always only one person servicing everyone. And it's really efficient and quick. And that person has his eyes on everyone Making sure nobody tries to run away without paying. The service is fast and never as issue for change

Craving for some authentic Parsi Food we ended up here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. I wanted to try everything Parsi possible.. so we started off with their famous cranberry soda. Delicious & refreshing.. It felt like heaven, on a hot afternoon like that!

I immediately ordered Salli per edu (Salli Eggs) - half boiled eggs sitting on a bed of crunchy, golden potatoe straws with some topping off chillies. This dish managed to bring 2 very tasty ingredients together in a beautiful way. Loved it!

We then ordered the Patrani Machi & Chicken Berry pulao. Honestly I was a disappointed with the Patrani Machi... It seemed to be Pomfret wrapped in green chutney steamed in banana leaves. The fish seemed to be lacking flavor, the spices & chutney does not seem to have penetrated the fish... I had assumed the fish would be marinated in the chutney for sometime or stuffed with the chutney so that the meat soaks in the flavors.. unfortunately it just turned out to be boiled fish with chutney on top & the chutney wasn't too packed with flavor either! I might be wrong in my assumption though.

The chicken Berry pulao was too good! Packed with masala & flavor with the sweetness & tanginess of zereshk berries coming through. Generous amounts of fried chicken Kebabs in the pulao. Definitely the highlight of the afternoon! :)

We ended our feast with Caramel Custard & Mango Cheesecake. Perfect in flavor & texture - both of them!

The service was good. And overall, not too heavy on the pocket either. I would give this place a rating of 4.5 all in all! And look forward to trying their other delicacies next time! :)

This is my third time visiting this source of parsi food menu.
This visit was regretful.
Location:8/10 near horniman circle.
Ambience: 6/10 separate section for air-conditioning, Good!
Service :6/10
Well staffed uniformed waiters & manager, but untrained in customer interaction /service.

We were seated above in the entirely empty air conditioned section, awaiting for the food ordered to come, drinking a delicious ice-cream soda. Two waiters suddenly came and asked us to shift the seating to two rows away.
When we resisted their arrogant behaviour and finally said cancel the order, they reversed their attitude and allowed us to continue in the same seating.
Food:- 5/10
We ordered a very specific Parsi dish Dhan dal And Patio. What got served to us was a localized someone's version of a parsi cuisine.

Dhan dal never contains Green Chillies, what came was a local dal served alongside with white rice.
The final unbelievable part was the claimed patio, It's not a parsi patio. This seemed to be a navratna kurma or mix vegetables masala simply rechristened and served to us. See the picture!
The ice-cream soda and Rasperry cold drink salvaged our evening. We left hungry from here.

Horrible, sad to see this being served under label of parsi food. This is not parsi food, and not tasty neither enjoyable.
Would not suggest any food connoisseur to this place. For any other purposes, its a good food joint.

Suggestion :-Instead recommend and for better taste/ Comparison sake:- A few minutes away is a local parsi cafe, (Ideal Corner is not air conditioned) and a nearby is also a Piccolo- RTI (Ratan Tata Institute - air-conditioned) and they both serve authentic parsi cuisine. including an authentic dhan dal patio.

went here with my friend... ambience is fine. food was fine... service is good... overall 3/5 total points. I ordered patrani machi which ws wrapped inside some leaf and it ws steamed for 20 to 30 mins. not much different than fried one. my friend kept complaining about the taste tho.

Bad experience. Arrogant staff made me wait for 30 minutes and on followups, displayed disinterest. The bill took eternity to come as guy on the counter was confused as to what’s to be done. Spoke to owner on the call and narrated the incident. Horrible experience in such iconic restaurant.
The Bearded Gastronome
My girlfriend's craving for Parsi cuisine led us to the famous Jimmy Boy. We ordered the Kheema pav, Mutton dhansak and the chicken berry pulao. To go with all of that we also ordered the raspberry soda. I personally enjoyed the Kheema pav and the chicken berry pulao but I wasn't all that impressed with the mutton dhansak because I felt it lacked enough seasoning. The chicken berry pulao was my first time trying the dish and I really enjoyed the tanginess of the berries in the pulao. I'd love to revisit this place again and again to try the new Parsi cuisine that I'm so much in love with

Best way to end your week is, to have food that touches your soul!!👌🏽
Parsi cuisine has never failed to impress us with their amazing dishes and their typical Parsi ambiance 💘
At Jimmy boy, We tried,
Mutton cutlets - The best cutlets I’ve had in a very long time!😋 the mutton filling was very soft and tasty👌🏽 2 crispy pieces of cutlets were served with fries!😊
Fish popcorn with lime and herb dressing - These crunchy fish popcorn is a perfect starter☺ the sauce served with this dish was delicious🤗
Prawns Koliwada - prawns is our all time favourite! We loved the Koliwada prawns with pudina chutney😚
Chicken Kebab - The kebabs weren’t like the typical kebabs we have, the deep fry and soft filling made it stand out💕
We enjoyed the food with the famous raspberry soda and lemon iced tea 😋 (the lemon iced tea was average)
For dessert, we tried,
Lagan nu custard - The custard was more like a pudding with dry fruits!
The chocolate mousse - the mousse had 3 layers and was soft like a cotton ball😘
Finally coming to the rating!
Quality 4.5/5
Service 4/5
Quantity 4.5/5
Do visit here ! Loved this place!
The Big Food Junkie (Ausie)
Onederful!!! The only outlet of this joint is an awesome place to eat some of the dishes which were just heard of..
The akuri and the chicken cutlet and do down to earth and homemade it remind me of my college days when I used to make my own food...

A Long Awaited Sunday Afternoon fulfilled. Parsi food is such a favourite being a half parsi myself. And this place has its own charm, first for its Sobo centric location and second for its typical traditional decore. We ordered for :
Pallonji's Raspberry
Chicken cheese balls (a fav with my child)
Chicken farcha
Chicken Curry Chawal( for the old times - my most fav of the parsi food)
Mutton Dhansak
Lagan Nu Custard (Super Delicious)
Parsi food lovers.. this place is a must try.
Prasamsa Shrestha
Lots of good vibes. Had Mutton Kebad which was great. Try it with their mustard sauce.
Price is great.
Lots of desserts options.
We didn’t like the bun Maska though.

This is one of the oldest gem located in fort area serving authentic Parsi delicacies. Right from the red and white checkered table cloth to it's special menu it strikes the perfect cord of Parsi vibe. They even serve "Lagan Nu Bhonu" because of which we get chance to experience the very special Parsi wedding cuisine. Also, these place has take away counter serving bakery items like pattice, quiches, rolls, crossiants, burgers, sandwiches for quick bites which are equally good.
Overall a must visit place for those who love experimenting with their taste buds and who love to try different cuisines.

If you're in old Mumbai then Parsi food is a must. A quick Google search shows the best places to visit and Jimmy Boy was on top of the list
I have had Parsi food before and my order was set even before entering the restaurant.
There are two floors, with the top floor being air conditioned. There is a small bakery in the lower level.
The items were a bit pricey compared to a few other old time Parsi food places.
I ordered the chicken dhansak with brown rice, chicken dal and kebab; a raspberry soda and caramel custard.
The portion was heavy for one person.
Taste was okay. Not blow my mind types. I found the kebab to be nice and soft. The chicken dal was alright but the chicken was a tad old.
The caramel custard was my litmus test. But unfortunately the caramel was fairly burnt.
Food:2.5/5
VFM:2.5/5
Service: 4/5(There was a slight delay in service)
Ambience: 3/5
The Mutton Dhansak and Berry pulao are to die for. Very cozy place - not super fine dine. But clean. Friendly staff and easy on the pocket. :) I love the Bun Maska there as well.

Had heard good things about this place and it did keep up to all the expectations.
The staff is nice and will help you out if you're confused with what to eat or with how much to order.
My reccomendations
The fish pops, deef fried fost succulent fish

A very elaborate thali having patra ni machhi, mutton dunsak, chicken fried, roti and rice crackers

But the star of the show was the button Berry pulao. Amazing soft mutton with the perfect blend of spices and a complete foodgasm. A must try!

We had their home made custard at the end which was okay. Not extremely sweet not bland. But I've had better.

All in all a must visit place

Been here day before yesterday, for me it is a over priced restaurant. The taste of the food is not at par with the price of the food and the quantity. Not even two people with a good appetite can share a Chicken Berry Pulao!
Dushyant
Had a good time and enjoyed the Parsi food. The mutton dhansak, kheema.pav , Mutton sali boti was nice and the Prawns kolhiwada was good too.Kids like the chicken farcha and even the mutton cutlet was nice. To finish things up we tried the Berry pulao and kulfi. Overall we were pretty happy and liked the place. Would definitely recommend to try the same. Deducting one star as for 8 people we were.to cramped.up.for space on the table given. So groups under 6 would.be comfort7 but above 8 would be a challenge to adjust and sit.
