Review Cafe Churchill - Mumbai

Farhan Azhar
While shopping at the Colaba streets our stomachs started rumbling. A quick Google search showed us this restaurant as the nearest one. As we entered we were greeted by these two lovely aunties who run this cafe. We ordered Veg Burger, Chicken Sandwich & Veg Pasta and for the drinks we ordered Lemonade & Coffee. Everything was well prepared and delicious. Aunty gave us a little history of the cafe while we ate. Her stories transported us to different era. The Cafe is 70 years old & Winston Churchill visited it on his trip to India hence the name. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Excellent food and service. Recommend for Goan style food.Small place. Might miss the entrance. Donā€™t miss the banofi pie dessert.

Felt like home. Warm Cozy And the owners treated us just like any family member would. Itā€™s a quiet spot in this chaotic city that we call Bombay. A must try if youā€™re into Parsi cuisine. All in all, worth your time and money.

Small compact place, with well behaved staff. The food is also unique and decent priced, and service is very fast. Nice place overall.

It was a sudden plan to have lunch here as we were tired shoping in colaba causeway and this was the closest restaurant available with decent reviews (from the place we were standing;)). The food was pretty decent and their hospitality was great. We had veg burger, beef steak and caramel custard. They have some good options in their menu which we are planning to explore during our next visit.

Absolutely loved Cafe Churchill. Definitely going to visit it as many times as possible. Good ambience. At peak hours during lunch you could have to wait for sometime for your turn, but definitely worth the wait. I am in love with their peach ice tea. Family friendly place.

First of all the owners are really sweet people. They suggested us so many things to try based on our preferences. I tried the veg malfati which crazy good. I had never tasted anything like that. Apart from that my friend ordered chicken cordon Bleu which looked very exotic and tasted good as per my friend. I tried a couple of desserts as well. The caramel custard was decent at best, the Irish coffee cheese cake was very good and I wish I had eaten one more of it ;)

Best place on earth to get fish and chips & chicken grilled club sandwich or have iced tea The parsi Zoroastrian food is great as well , love the waffles the cheese cakes

There are no words to express when it comes to describing this place. When you have gone through the long walk in the tumultuous market place and boiling weather, this place is the oasis in the desert. The food, the fish and everything was every bit delicious and true to its sense. Dont forget to do the game on the table paper, its fun as well!

Not a wow kind of place but very congested. The food I'm not sure if it is real Mediterranean but not as good as Cafe Mondegar or Viva Panjim that also serve Mediterranean in Mumbai and Goa respectively. The beef pasta, lamb with brown sauce and chicken Cordon Bleu were good
Neha Chaturvedi
Very limited options for vegetarians, only 5 tables for serving, prices are higher... They only accept cash for bill..BUT they charge only the price written on menu card for particular dish ,NO taxes at all.
Sakina Chinwalla
Small place. Had to wait 30 minutes. Worth it. Food was delicious and hot. Calamari in butter garlic, Irish lamb stew ands prawns nirvana.. Will surely go again to eat the Parsi cuisine there
Shoma Gowda
Mind blowing menu options .. we couldn't just stop ordering more food . I forgot the exact dish name but the something in lamb ( main course ) and crispy chicken and herbs gravy was good too .

The food was awesome but nothing was quite close to the hospitality of the owners! We went to Cafe Churchill because of long wait time at one reputed joint at Colaba, and after we dined at the former, we were truly happy about our decision!

Beautiful ambience worth the money n the lazanya was too delicious. Will be going often.
Bernard Fernandes
Do not have a steak there! Not worth it at all

It's a little pricey for the food they serve. Also, portions are a little small.

Cafe Churchill Is located in the famous Colaba Causeway. This place is always busy and has a very good theme. We loved the fish and chips, Alfredo Pasta, the butter chicken pizza and the chicken chili sausage . A pocket friendly place and you sure will have a great time with your friends.
Shantanu Karekar
I really loved the Fish and chips, they were just perfect, especially the seasoning. Apart from that had also tried the quarter pounder and that too was well done. Overall I will be ordering regularly from here.

Cafe Churchill offers delicious food at its simple best. The diner is rather small and feels a bit cramped but the food more than makes up for the lack of an appealing ambience. The portions are generous. The taste, no matter what you order, is absolutely great - robust flavors in every element. Their dark chocolate pastry is to die for. You cannot pay by card - a bit old-school but kinda adds to the charm of this cozy little diner.

So itā€™s a pretty small joint but food is really fabulous we hogged and hooged LoL <br/><br/>Enjoyed clear soups and pastas and full meals itā€™s yummy and worth worth a try guys

Like Mondyā€™s and Leopold, CafĆ© Churchill is also something of an icon but unlike them, this tiny eatery is easier to miss. Located along Colaba Causeway opposite Cusrow Baug, the Parsi residential colony with the faƧade of a fortress, Churchill has less than half a dozen tables. What it lacks in space, Churchill makes up for in its menu that features comfort continental fare ā€“ pastas, sausages, pizzas and, its piĆØce de rĆ©sistance, the banoffee pie. Since the seating is limited, expect some waiting (even on a weekday evening after 8pm), but know that the wait will be worth it.

One of the legendary places to visit in Colaba area. It's a small restaurant serving authentic Continental and Parzi food, run by a Wonderful Parzi family. The food is really good. The ambiance gives you a feeling of a cozy cafe with a Parzi touch to it. They have a wonderful large menu. There deserts are mind blowing. I have visited this place many times. However sitting space is less so there might be waiting especially during weekends. They serve from pasta to buyers to noodles to lasagna to what not. It's a place definitely to visit when in Colaba area

Had heard such good things about the food here. Was v disappointed with the steak. It was too chewy. Had ordered the medium rare but it turned out to be well done.
SHAROOKH COLABAWALLA
My all time favorite restaurant for Continental food. Their Manager Ghandi is extremely helpful and helps us select the right dishes .Portions are Good and the Prices are reasonable.

Cozy little cafe with great food! Loved every bit of the experience. Excellent service.

We had a seafood soup here and a grilled chicken main course. The soup was delicious as usual, with a medium thick broth and the right amount of spice. The grilled chicken was just okay, the sauce needed a little more punch. The service was excellent and the food was served very fast. We decided not to try the desserts because all the liquor based desserts did not have any liquor and had liquor flavour instead. They had some offers and we got garlic bread served complimentary with the soup and a soft drink with the main course. The portions were very good. The prices are on the higher side

Tasty food, polite staff but the wait for your order to arrive is too much for impatient souls like me!<br/>PS please visit this place during unusual hours so that you don't have to wait for a booth.

The best place for steaks in town .<br/>The quantity of fish and chips is abit less , but rest is all good .<br/>Really comfortable place to eat .

First, I had the Fish and Chips at Cafe Churchill. It was decent. I ordered the Bannofee for dessert. It was lovely! The flavour of bananas along with the crust and mousse was delightful. The ambience is interesting with limited seating space. The place mat keeps the diners engaged courtesy the word search puzzle on it. The restaurant is slightly pricey though.

One of the oldest cafes in Bombay and still open for a reason. The food is heavenly and serves some continental delights. The only downer with the place is it's small seating space and long wait time. But don't let that scare you away. It's worth the wait
Foreverhungry331
One of the oldest cafes located in the town, cafe Churchill serves one of the best steak in the town, it was me n my friend visited here. It's a very small place you often have to share table with others,as hardly there are 5-6 tables. The interior is very old stereotype and ambience is also very quite as you don't find many people talking here. The staff is really polite and humble as their are no staff members here they all are family members who work here as a waiter or waitress.Had ordered the beef steak and I really liked it,it was perfectly cooked not too chewy not to hard, perfect as someone would like. They still don't accept any mobile wallets or cards as cash is the only way to pay,I found the steak a bit expensive by looking at its size it could have been a bit cheap,so if you visiting here make sure you have healthy cash with you.overall 4/5

Love the tartness of šŸ‹ lemon šŸ° cheese cake and Rich chocolate mousse šŸ° cake.<br/>The chocolate mousse cake upper later is thick and base is moist.<br/>When I tasted the lemon cheese cake, it just melt in my mouth.<br/>I wish to try there soon!

Absolutely go here if you're craving for beef! Ask the owner for recommendations if you're not too sure what to eat. Their chicken chop n chop is to die for. Try the beef teriyaki too. You guys can easily skip Cafe Mondegar and come here.<br/>PS: the owners have taken the name from Winston Churchill and brownie points for finding more than one reference to Britain in the cafe.

A hidden little food place on colaba causeway!<br/>With corn on cob, we also had malfati!<br/>While the taste was pretty amazing, found it on the higher side when it comes to price.

While i must say that Churchill has always been one of my favorite places to have my meals I must say i was appalled by the customer service, this time i went. We went there late afternoon, and there is this particular waiter who was there and he was completely disinterested in providing any service. Firstly when we entered, we saw that he was unfazed by the fact that there were customers. Instead of getting water or checking on our requirements he was glued to his mobile. It was the owner who came and served us water!!! It was extremely disgusting to see that a man who is supposed to do his job take things so lightly and not even move when he seen his bosses actually wait tables.<br/><br/>The food at Churchill till date is delicious and unmatchable. The owners are extremely sweet and courteous, but its very disheartening to see that that such a renowned restaurant may end up losing loyal customers to the obnoxious and repelling behavior of its waiter<br/><br/>I recently visited the restaurant again and was appalled with the waiters behaviours again. It's frustrating to see the standards of such a good restaurant drop to such levels. Despite a review there has been no change in the behaviours and attitude of the concerned waiter. I hope the management takes necessary actions or they may lose loyal customers soon

Loved this nice little quaint cafe in Colaba. The staff are really friendly and courteous. The food tasted really good, loved the chicken cordon bleu. After which we had to taste some of those tasty cheesecakes on display. Can't recall the last time I know such a nice, homely, yet very good cafe.

The baked corn and spinach dish was quite tasty!!<br/>Chocolate mousse was yum too!!<br/>Shall surely be back to try out some more dishes!!<br/>Overall had a good experience here!

I can't express in words how my experience here was. Such a good vibe. I have been to this place on Monday morning 10 for an English breakfast and it was soo very good to interact with the owner. He was so good with the service. And the food was excellent. 5 stars to this place.

Cafe Churchill is a well know eatery in Colaba located in Colaba causeway but itā€™s quite easy to miss this place as itā€™s really tiny. <br/>The decor and ambience is not something that you should look forward while dining here, but their crazy variety of food definitely is. <br/>I had the famous Chicken cordon bleu which is their star dish and rightfully so. <br/>The dish had chicken breast slices stuffed with cheese filling served along with really good gravy, the gravy was so good that we had it to the last bit. Mashed potatoes and veggies also complimented well with the dish, the chicken was a bit hard but overall with the cheese stuffing and gravy tasted heavenly. You gotta try this dish if you come here. <br/>Had even ordered garlic bread which was okay, not that great. <br/>Overall the place maintains its raw structure and old vibes by not making the eatery too fancy, the servers are really polite and courteous.<br/>Come here just to enjoy their delicacies and you will love it.

I recently visited Cafe Churchill at the bustling Colaba Street. The entrance is easy to miss amongst all the antique and clothes shops. Once you enter though the feel of the place is instantaneous. Two beautiful smiling sisters are welcoming and give you a rich feel of the niceness Mumbai has to offer. We were happy it was a busy weekday afternoon and we did not have to wait. We did a little research and knew what we had to order. So we were cautious not to order in excess. We ordered Chicken cordon bleu and chicken lasagna. Both of which were delightful in flavours and perfectly presented. The portion was filling and sufficient for one heavy eater. Alongside we had a nice large glass of ice tea. The lemon ice tea was obviously more flavorful than peach. I would love visiting the place to try the other dishes on their menu.

A great place to have a sumptuous American breakfast, diner like feel and air light chilled cheesecakes. A beautifully run taint cafe in the midst of Colaba.

This always has been my favourite place for continental food.A trip to colaba causeway is not completed without visiting this place and have been coming here right from my college days . It still has it old world charm , cosy ambience and food for soul šŸ˜. We had their classic signature dish chicken corden blue it was succulent , sauce was yummy and with veggies and mash potato complete meal šŸ˜‹ . The veg lasagne was also yummy and with ended with Irish bailey cake having the right balance of sweetness can get the Irish cream taste in every bite. What adds to the charm of the place is the elderly madame with a smile on her face and constantly checking if u need anything or suggesting their dishes , hats off to her passion till date šŸ˜

Trying out this 'historic' outlet at Colaba (the Bulldog stares out at you from the menu šŸ˜¬) was a long time awaited. After settling into a cozy corner, one begins to have a sinister doubt that the food (mildness of taste) has been designed for the Western pallette which throngs the environs of Colaba, and the table next to you.<br/><br/>Wife and self landed up here mid evening one Sunday to grab a bite. We ordered Chicken momos and Fish n Chips. Perhaps not the best items on the menu?<br/><br/>The goodness of the Chicken momos (they were very good indeed) was overshadowed by the sweet! red chutney they were served with! It is completely blasphemous to serve momos with a chutney other than fiery hot.<br/><br/>The Fish n Chips were a complete letdown. We had high hopes. The fried (mysterious) fish was soggy (almost watery) instead of crispy and the tartar sauce was completely without flavour. The other major part of the dish, the French fries (chips) just weren't enough.<br/><br/>We thought of ordering seekh kababs and parathas, but the waiter said that they were pre-cooked for the mild tongue, so we didn't risk it.<br/><br/>Now that I've busted my curiosity for Cafe Churchill, I definitely won't be going back to this cramped and pricey place where food is being catered to a Western (but peculiar) pallette. I wonder how the other food is, but I can only imagine the worst.

Cafe Churchill - who doesn't know this place. Ordered for a paneer shashlik and a prawn noodle. Paneer shashlik was gOod, subtle flavors and carefully made in less oil.<br/><br/>The only thing place is small, might now get a seat at peak hours

A very small cafe located in the busy streets of colaba causeway. I ordered fish &chips and grilled salmon. The fish & chips were crispy and the sauce really went well with it. However, when the grilled salmon came, I was surprised to have the same taste of the fish as was used in the fish & fries. I had expectation of a pink salmon, yet I was told its an Indian salmon which is white.. Both the dishes used the same fish. The grilled salmon was not at all crispy and the sauce was too large and watery with it.<br/><br/>Overall, a fish&chips 5/5 and grilled salmon 3/5.<br/>Quite an expensive place.

Best place to eat in colaba. It may look small, but the taste of the anything you order is top notch. Every dish is yummy. I loved the Prawns Pasta, chicken momos, desserts .. Highly recommended. šŸ‘šŸ¼

Been going to cafe Churchill for years and years nothing has changed about this place. Very friendly staff and excellent continental food. The bannoffee pie and the kalhua torte are the best desserts.

In the bustling market of colaba...I stumbled upon this small yet modest cafe, with such an adorable ambience. And the menu will leave your mouth watery. Slightly expensive but totally worth the price. Staff is extremely cooperative and friendly. I ordered Alfredo chicken pasta and a caramel custard. I would love to say..this is the best pasta I ever had in my life. Caramel custard rocked too. Craving to visit this place again.

Fabulous food. Been visiting this eatery since I was a child. The place has never disappointed.<br/>It doesn't matter whether one orders continental or italian, vegetarian or non vegetarian. Everything tastes splendid & they have maintained their standard over the years.<br/>I've tried many of the items on their menu during the course of multiple visits to this place so I won't write about any dish in particular. Suffice it to say that even someone as keen on non-vegetarian as I am, can't complain about their vegetarian options. They make anything taste good.<br/>Though I really wish they had more space so their tables wouldn't get occupied so quickly, I wouldn't want them to move away from colaba in their quest for a larger space

Wonderful cozy place with awesome people being your hosts. A must visit place for meat lovers. Try the steak, fish and chips and amazing deserts.

Had my Lasagna debut here; so obvi a memorable place now on.<br/><br/>=1stly, great management, great staff<br/><br/>=Taste is supreme; no compromise done here<br/><br/>=order to toke ratio is a bit high; thus a bit slower but hotter, tastier food. (it's a positive)<br/><br/>=The main thing, AMBIENCE. Seems a typical towny small time cafe where the food is epic, vibes are Parsi-Catholic, compact for good and memorable for life<br/><br/>=Great options on the menu; must try all. (Tried few, but heard from many about their preferences and results)<br/><br/>Going again soon.

Iā€™m going to be biased here and say Iā€™ve given an extra star for nostalgia.<br/>Churchill brings back happy memories of my childhood when my family would make a day out of Sunday and head to town and we would go to Rhythm House, buy cds, listen to them in the free listening booths and then go around here and there and then head to Churchill. When food is eaten in such spirits it does taste better.<br/>So the staff at Churchill is as warm and the food (what we ate) was nice. But nostalgia has its own flavour for me. We had the fried sausages in fire sauce and fish and chips. The fish and chips was spot on for sure. I would eat that again! <br/>I love that Churchill is this hidden place that people known and love know about. Itā€™s a tiny cozy place filled with love and decades of stories. If you are new to Bombay and was to visit legendary places then this is one of them let me assure you.<br/>Enjoy, my foodies!
The Food Trotter
Cafe churchill is a tiny little place in the middle of colaba causeway. Although the food doesn't look fancy it tastes absolutely delicious. The cordon bleu is tender and soft, the pound steak is juicy and melts in your mouth. The fish and chips are so fresh and light.the butter garlic squid is an explosion of flavors. However the best thing served at churchill is their lemon cheesecake. It is to die for. Thisis my absolute favorite place to go to and I would recommend it to everyone.

Small outlet in the busy streets of causeway. Quite a small place 5-6 tables approx. But the food is really good. Ordered veg fettucini pasta it came with a lot of veggies we asked them to minus the mushrooms from it. Also had coffee cheecake it looked really tempting but I didn't enjoy it much because it had a lot of coffee flavor to it. I didn't want anything too sweet so gave it a try but didn't want anything bitter either or maybe that's usually how a coffee flavored cheesecake tastes. The service is satisfactory and fast. The owner is a friendly guy (uncle) really sweet. They do not accept card so keep that in mind. A must try place!

They were very polite and sweet although we had vegetarian food but it is a paradise for Non-vegetarians and I will surely visit again for Steak and Shepard's Pie ā¤

This place is my most favorite when it comes to food and service. I am saying this with an experience of 8years with this restaurant. I love the food to the next level. The picture is of Chicken lasagna (which is something to die for) There is no change in the taste and I don't think anyone can make a better lasagna than them. Garlic bread and ice tea compliment with it very well šŸ˜Š all Time favorite. You can also try the mixed grill lasagna šŸ˜ To end with you can have the Banaoffee pastry or the Chocolate mousse pastry (for chocolate lovers) šŸ˜šŸ¤©šŸ„°<br/>For Continental food lovers this place is no less than a Paradise šŸ˜˜ #loveforfood

CafƩ Churchill !!<br/>Such a cute little joint to be at for a meal with your family or friends. The ambience is simple and staff very friendly.<br/><br/>This restaurant, is a tiny, no nonsense outlet, serving great food. The menu is mostly continental and old school.<br/><br/>We tried many dishes, including, bruschetta, garlic bread, pizza and cheese chilli toast.<br/>Also tried the asparagus pasta creamy and delicious then the beef lasagne which filled both my stomach and soul..<br/><br/>Must definitely visit this jewel in Colaba, great food no-nonsense.

Good food place definitely but the ambience is too simple.<br/>It's a small restaurant with 6-7 tables, each for 4.<br/>But the food is amazing. And they have all sorts of meat and sea food.<br/>Must try once. I'm sure you'll love it.

Looking for good food and warm hosts without a second thought head to this place in Colaba. <br/>A small cafe with stomach filling portions of food.<br/>Donā€™t forget to carry cash coz Churchill cafe doesnā€™t accept cards. <br/>Things to try <br/>- chop n chop -sufficient quantity for one person. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes, buttered veggies and tomato gravy <br/><br/>- Meat grill lasagna: not so creamy, meat in every bite. Must try <br/><br/>- Crab meat soup- the best is town is here.<br/><br/>- Hungarian golash <br/><br/>- kaluha torte <br/><br/>- Many options of desserts to choose from in case of confusion get help of the host they are the best to suggest you best dishes to add.

It's the best place with the best food.. !!<br/><br/>I am absolutely in love with this place, they never disappoint me no matter what I order especially when it comes to SEAFOOD or even chicken preparation for that matter.. its run by this very sweet old lady who is always ready with her food suggestions.. or you could just order anything and I'm sure u would love it anyway.. so I would highly recommend this place and everything they serve.. (no, I'm not getting paid for this review :P )<br/><br/>Also dont forget to order berry soda. It's a parsi food joint after all !!<br/>

IRISH COFFEE CHEESECAKE!! Had tears in my eyes after the first bite šŸ˜ It was sooooo good!<br/><br/>Stumbled upon Cafe Churchill by chance without any inkling of the stature this place holds. Couple of dishes in - we were sold and the Cheesecake made me a fan for life!

Had this crazy craving to relish a steak on my cheat day and a friend recommended this place! It's a small cafe on the main street and easily missable! But their menu is simply outstanding! We ordered a fresh lime water and the taste was perfect! A very common beverage but something that I feel like raving about! The folks who run the place are extremely sweet too, just like their dessert collection šŸ˜

Cafe Churchill is the very definition of a hole in the wall, blink, and you are bound to miss it. I always wanted to visit them, but due to something or the other, it was not really happening.<br/><br/>Finally when I did visit, there was this rude shock I received, no cards, only cash and some really cramped up seating area, that's kind of a big no-no for me, but I complied after reading the menu.<br/><br/>My order here was first, the Chicken Wings. These are your stock chicken wings, fried and and tossed in good ol BBQ sauce served with a portion of fries. These were some good wings, not great, but good.<br/><br/>Next was the King Solomon steak, a fair sized steak with mushroom sauce, vegges and potato mash on the side. The steak was pretty well cooked. It seemed to be tenderized before it was cooked, I am not really. Although it seemed around the medium or medium plus area, it did have taste like medium rare. Kinda magical in a way.<br/><br/>The last was the coffee cheese cake. Now cheesecakes are something that I order as a dessert only in the first half of the day. After that it's just stale blocks of cheese. The one I got her was a fresh piece, the coffee flavour was on point. Would visit this place again solely for the cheesecake.<br/><br/>Ambiance - 2.5/5<br/>Service - 3/5<br/>Food - 3/5<br/>VFM - 3/5<br/>

This cafe is small with only around 6 tables, but it is quite famous in the area. The ambience is okay, but the food makes up for it. We tried Golden eye prawns and Chicken Cordon bleu, both of which tasted fantastic. The prices are expensive, both dishes costing an average of Rs 400 each. The service is good and the staff is friendly. This is a sentence I never thought I'd ever say, but I have given this cafe an extra star because of the water they serve here. The food aside, all my friend and I could talk about was the regular water served here. It was icy cold, but didn't sting, it was perfect, and if you've ever heard the term 'crisp water', this would be it. It was crisp and delicious and after shopping at causeway, it was the ideal relief. Cafe Churchill, whatever temperature the water was at the time we ordered, it was one of the best waters I have ever tasted.

I have been here twice till date. First with my friends which was a good experience but the second time when I went with my parents it wasn't good. The lamb in the Salli boti was hard and chewy. The fish(2 pieces basa) and chips were good. The golden eye prawns were bland and lacked even salt. Overall the ambience is okay..and the staff doesn't appreciate comments and doesn't modify food according to how the customer wants it ( even a minor change) . They have a wide range of desserts worth trying! Price wise it's decent except the Salli boti which was not worth Rupees 480 considering the taste and quantity. Also it is understaffed.

Well, our first visit to this restaurant and fell in love. Run by an elderly couple the warmth of stewards is very welcoming. The sitting is very small. The food is very good. We tried Country style grilled chicken. This is prepared in brown sauce with mashed potatoe and boiled veggies on the side. We also had ordered for Chicken Pasta with ham and sausage toppings. A cold coffee, caramel custard and Oreo cake for dessert where none were too sweet and home made flavoured. This cost us 1700/- a tad more than what it should for the space it offers but the taste and warmth made it up. For sure a must visit.

Old is gold as they say .....this place is one such gold. Which has been running for ages and I have been a fan for far long .All dishes we had were super fresh and yummy. They can surely work on the portion size to the price they charge .I love all their conti dishes special the steaks .tried the mutton sali with rice ( did not find it up to mark) rest all dishes were full marks .Also the juices were fresh and good in size .Also try the desert they offer .Must visit if in colaba area

Just not good. Stale fish & stale chips. Stale lamb & crunched space. Used to be good before, standards have drastically fallen. The place needs a revamp asap!

I wanted to try food at cafe Churchill since long time for it's good reviews and today got the chance to have my lunch at the place.<br/><br/>Restaurant is small in size with few tables and hardly occupied when I entered at about 1330 hrs.<br/><br/>Most of the main course is priced on higher side. So finally made up my mind to settle for fish steak which was served with smashed potatoes, boiled veg and tasty white gravy priced at 490 /- which is on higher side.<br/><br/>While having my food, I have observed the unpleasant scene of waiter occupying the empty seat and getting engrossed in his mobile !<br/>The graceful elderly lady at the cash counter, probably the owner noticed that I was not having the tissue paper on my table as I had already used whatever available. She got up and came with few more tissue papers for me while the waiter was still 'inside' his mobile !<br/><br/>It was very kind of her to do so but waiter's behaviour totally put me off. Churchill lost one star from my review and thanks to the waiter.<br/><br/>These kind of stupid and unprofessional waiters bring bad name to the establishment for sure.<br/><br/>Hope the owners will teach the waiter some basic manners, how to take care of customers as waiters are the 'face' of the restaurant who will make or break the restaurant.<br/><br/>Good luck and best wishes.<br/><br/>

Have been there since college days when good continental food was rare in Mumbai. Legendary place which is still the same small hole in the wall. Tables jostling next to each other. No ambience. Just good food. Small portions and a lil expensive but the food is good. Anything u order is well prepared. Good vegetarian options. Beware only cash payment accepted.

Ordered from here , theirĀ  Salsa Ragout Di Pollo Con Funghi Pasta , Banoffee and a Caramel Custard.<br/><br/>1) Salsa Ragout Di Pollo Con Funghi Pasta : 5/10<br/>The pasta was cooked ,but the chicken was very dry and overcooked , the sauce was also chunky and not exactly a 'sauce'<br/><br/>2)Banoffee: 6/10<br/>The Banoffee is a three layered pastry with cream , banana filling and a crusted cake.<br/>It was very sweet for me , if you like subtly sweet deserts , don't order it but if you have a major sweet tooth you can order this.<br/><br/>3)Caramel Custard: 6/10<br/>Standard Caramel Custard which was not sweet at all , it was bland .

Very small portions and Would never recomend this place. Just not worth for the price they charge. We ordered chop on chop and it was pathetic and for fish and chips there was hardly any fish. Totally disappointing

Great food, reserve the banofiee cake if it's available as soon as you get in. Dessert portions are a little small. Food tastes absolutely amazing, the taste obviously is a little European. #OldIsGold

The best lasagna I ever had . Roasted chicken and bacon lasagna šŸ‘šŸ¼, best paired with garlic bread . What I donā€™t like about them is the place is very small , also they donā€™t have a place to wash hand ā˜¹ļø.<br/>The salads are also good . But I found the quantity to be very less compared to the price .<br/>Also I like Their banofie pie

Churchill has been here since eons way before the fad of ā€œcafesā€ kicked in , it has fair share of fan following (well deserved one I may add) , this place just like most cafes has plethora of non veg options compared to veg ones, but we khas phus eaters aint complaining especially when you can never decide which dish is better baked corn and spinach or cheese spinach corn lasagna, I definitely am biased for the later although I could gulp down the former within minutes , their cheese chilli toast is a must have, never ever have I got disappointed while ordering it and since years the taste hasnā€™t changed a bit, thank god for it, very few places can make a good gnocchi and chruchill is definitely one of them . Malfatti again is a dish I crave for here , the riccoto cheese is generously used with spinach. Well now that I look back, most of the dishes I cherish here has spinach in it, damn Popeye will be so proud !

I really don't know what they're serving but what I received couldn't be a cheesecake. Got the Irish cheesecake from these guys. Delivery good, packaging okay, tasty of coffee? Yes, cheesecake? No. The cheesecake felt somewhat diluted. As if regular cream had been added to it to make it cheaper. The thickness of the cheesecake was missing entirely. The crust was okay but the cheesecake was a big disappointment to our dinner(not from here). If it all I order again, it won't be deserts.

Tried the chicken, bacon with cheese and Irish stew.. both were awesome. My frd had the funghii cheese which was mushrooms stuffed with spinach and bechamel sauce .. it was Awesome. The sauce was perfect and not to cheesey. Tried the beef steak too. It wasn't medium rare as ordered but tasted good anyway. So worth the price and ambience and service was just lovely. We had two kids with us below the age of one so was quiet messy and noise.. but the waiter gave us all plastic cups and plates knowing how annoying kids can be. Owners were very sweet and understanding. Will definitely go here again and again.

Ordered for pasta salad and a Churchill chicken salad. Thanks for sending a box of half cooked pasta and lamb along with raw onions. From a place which is so well reputed for their food, service of this kind was not expected. Would advice you to kindly improve upon the same in case of any future orders from the salad section of the menu. It might not leave other customers too happy. As a salad it has to have some vegetables and salad leaves atleast and cannot just be box of pasta/ meat. Would hope for better a service next time please.

Food - 4/5<br/>Beverages - (no alcohol served)<br/>Ambience - 3.5/5<br/>Service - 4/5<br/>Overall- 4/5<br/><br/>This quaint little place tucked away on the Colaba Causeway has always been a pleasure to visit. I donā€™t recall how many times we have relived this scenario - out of town friends visiting, want to do the usual causeway and Cafe Leopold thing - and then get stuck at never-ending queues at Leopoldā€™s. What to do? Of course, what we always do when in this bind - go to Churchill, which we personally would have preferred anyway!<br/><br/>Itā€™s a charming little place with a homey atmosphere - in fact you will probably run into the owners and be asked whether you ate well! The food is fairly good, though I feel over the years the quality has gone down a wee bit. Still, I think itā€™s one of the must try places in Colaba, some of you will definitely warm up to it, as we did!

Never order parcel from them on weekends. Took over 1 hr and 30 mins to send the order (original order placement time 840 pm), they conveniently call after 58 minutes of accepting the order mentioning something isn't there in their menu. God damn pathetic attitude and my pregnant wife is left hungry and slept by the time the food came. The place is literally 2 minutes from my house<br/><br/>To top it all the Churchill special salad only has chicken and no greens, burgers served next to cold, we literally left half the dishes. I'm surprised people are giving it 4.2 on zomato. Maybe they give 30 percent off where the restaurant themselves realized how bad they are vis a vis competition in the area. I never even bought it with 30 percent off and paid full price and this is the pathetic attitude of the rsstaurant. Proof of the 30 percent off.<br/>

Abundant history and one of Mumbaiā€™s very old favourites. Order any item on the menu and the appearance as well as the taste will reflect one aspect for sure and that is ā€˜to keep it simpleā€™.

The Churchill cafe became unexpected surprise for us,while.we were high on hunger after exploring Colaba Causeway.<br/>Nice small cafe situated at the end of Colaba causeway stretch.<br/>The cafe has limited seating for around 8-10 people.<br/>The cafe has Parsi cuisine speciality, varying from fish varieties.<br/>It has good bakery products also such as cakes and lemon cakes, mava cakes.<br/>The best thing happened to us is that while we were struggling to order something spicy in fish curry.<br/>Uncle who is the owner of the place offered us some new out of the menu dish, which was amazing as well as very simple, but tasting very well.

For almost twenty years now, Cafe Churchill has been my Go-To option for American cuisine & the Irish Bailey Walnut Cake slice. Their steaks, pastas & fried sausages have been a staple order whenever I visit. Glad to see the under-rated, no-fuss Cafe is still true to its roots.<br/><br/>Tonight, as a impromptu choice, we find ourselves seated immediately, which is rare, while the owners are personally overlooking the goings on.<br/><br/>Pleased to see some new Parsi specialities added to the otherwise Continental menu. Starting with the legendary Fried Chicken Sausages & Cheese Garlic Bread, the mains are a to-the-point King Solomonā€™s Steak, with an amazing pepper flavour & the Mutton Salli Boti with Bread. Hearty, delicious & total value for money items. The Blueberry Cheese cake rounds up the meal, with an Irish Bailey cake slice as the take-away choice. <br/><br/>Canā€™t wait to return here for another delightful dinner!

Yes I have been to Cafe Churchill way back in 2011. I remember being in awe of the really scrumdiddlyumptious and picture perfect food served back then.<br/>These are the dishes we had ordered:<br/>1. Beef Teriyaki- Roast beef fingers in teriyaki sauce. This was before the beef ban era, which we so much enjoyed.<br/>2. Fish n Chips- Crumb fried fish fillet served with tartar sauce and fries. This was a classic as expected.<br/>3. Bruschetta- Marinated fresh tomato, mozzarella, bazil, olive oiltopped on a garlic bread and baked. This was the first time we had ever tried this Italian delicacy and it came across as their version of the garlic bread.<br/>4. Pollo(Chicken) with Smoked Chicken Bacon & Cheese Jacket- Pot roasted chicken breast, topped with smoked chicken bacon, cheddar, served on a bed of spicy tomato paprika sauce. This one was a beauty. I remember all of us trying to get the perfect angle to shoot this. <br/>5. Spiedini Di Ricota E Verdure Alla Griglia- Fresh ricotta cheese & vegetables skewered on shashlik, grilled to perfection & served on a bed of tomato risotto topped with herbed spice. Maybe our taste buds were not seasoned for Italian food then, but I would give this a miss the next time.<br/><br/>Cafe Churchill is a quaint little restaurant in Colaba that is a must visit for food lovers. High time we went there again.

Came here with huge expectations and was awed at whatever I ordered here. <br/>Mr. Churchill. You the real MVP. <br/>We came here looking for a team lunch, hungry and tired from travelling and traffic. and went for the specials straight away. King Soloman's steak, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Chicken Alla King. <br/>Let's start with the king himself. <br/>.<br/>Kings Solomon's Steak- was cooked perfect. I like it Well done and so it was. The portion size was generous. Coming to the taste. The grill lines on the steak slightly overdone but i loved the burnt flavour. Then comes the sauce. The steak mushroom sauce was served in a separate crucible and was filled with love and taste. The charred taste makes me go gaga. A must try if you are a steak eater. And then there were pocket of surprises. The bacon. Bacon and veggies stirred in hot oil as siders hit the right note. Two thumbs up. <br/>.Chicken cordon Bleu- I have had Chicken cordon bleu quite a few times before but this one was special. It was not the chicken or the stuffing but the sauce. The barbecue sauce made the dish a winner. Along with the chicken there was mashed potatoes. Not my favourite but with the sauce? They had no chance. <br/>.Chicken Alla King- This rice chicken serving looked like an Pasta in Alfredo sauce. And did taste similar. Unfortunately the flavour was on the down side. But a good comfortable food option for a happy tummy. <br/> .Time for desserts. <br/>Chocolate Mouse- Must have. Rich in chocolate and not to sweet. <br/>Double Chocolate Torte- Chocolate heaven. Loaded with chocolate and sweetness. Make sure you have enough space in your tummy to gulp this down. <br/>Dark chocolate Mouse cake- Mouse and cake layers...well defined and go together wellKalhua Torte- Another gem in their dessert collection. Heavy on chocolate and cream this one is ideal for a crowd of two :PAll the desserts are freshly made available everyday and one can taste that in every bite..Service and Ambiance- The service is prompt and the attendants are very polite in their response and service. That just makes the ambiance warm and comfortable. The Interiors are inspired with London city spots and are simple. <br/>.Overall- Legendary place, must try. That's all.

One of my most favourite restaurants in Mumbai. This place never lets you down. Even though it mainly serves non-vegetarian food and my options are limited, I still love everything that is on the menu for vegetarians. Try the baked dish and also my personal favourite, spinach, corn and cheese lasagna.

There is no beating this legendary outlet, situated in the heart of Colaba. Churchill with its brand name can never go wrong with its superlative yet simple menu. The seating is rather cramped given its heritage. <br/><br/>Nonetheless, itā€™s a task to get a seat for a two even on weekdays. Do not forget the famous sodas and cheesy dishes.

Excellent place with an old world charm. The spice and nice fries are a must try. I had the bolognaise lasagne while my friend had the white sauce lasagne with loads of mushrooms (can't remember the name). The food is absolutely fresh and delicious. The ambience of this place gets a 4.5/5. The food is a 5/5 as is the service. Very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely come back here. The desserts deserve a special mention. The chocolate mousse and the gooey chocolate cake are must haves. Your meal can't be complete without the pallonji's raspberry soda.

The best blueberry cheesecake I have ever had ā¤ļø it's a very small place at colaba causeway. Quite famous for non veg food (never tried) I always go there for blueberry cheesecake which is absolutely perfect. Do stop once to try this dessert!!

It was a memorable place for us as we have been going since childhood.....however now the quality has definitely suffered.Called for the kalhua pastry and tiramisu. Was sad to see the cakes both stale and tasted weird.i love this place but heart broken with the way it's going

Amazing food.... If your the one who wants value for money this is the place for you. They have such a large and intreasting menu. The pizzas sandwich burgers Italian food and the steaks are just so tempting that you just want to eat it all. Fresh and made to order it a mom and pop restaurant run very well. Every Sunday they serve there delicious Dhansack which can be ordered and delivered too. They also have a wide range of desserts.

Cafe Churchill is a no-fuss restaurant in the Colaba Causeway which serves food home-style. We had ordered a fish and chips, a bolognese lasagna, king soloman steak and a blueberry cheesecake with a side of fresh-lime soda. The fish and chips weren't the best, with too much oil which didn't smell the best, but the lasagna was one of the best I've ever had. And the steak was one of the juiciest steaks in my life. The cheesecake, again, was nothing to write home about.<br/><br/>Cafe Churchill is an institution in Bombay and therefore deserves a visit at least for the sake of nostalgia if not for the food, which demands improvement. Shoutout to the old lady who manages and serves the food with so much attention and love.

A quaint little place at the end of colaba causeway. We came back here after a really long time and the cafe still holds it's cozy vibes. This cafe got me hooked to mushroom soup .it's so creamy and delicious ,a must try.The food is perfect in all aspects.Variety of desserts to choose from.<br/><br/>In the pic :<br/><br/>Kahlua torte, mushroom filled with spinach and garlic bread, mushroom soup.

So I ordered the Salsa Ragout Di Pollo Con Funghi Pasta and I specifically mentioned them to make it spicy but it tasted very bland and no condiments were sent along. The chicken was very undercooked and not upto the mark. Please don't drop down your standards. Your dishes, the bacon Lasagna and chicken cordon bleu are the benchmark.

Well this review is strictly on the basis of the one thing i had there since they were out of the other dish i planned to have.<br/>So i had a Double chocolate Torte there. I genuinely believe that it is one of THE BEST that i ever had.<br/>Cant wait to try more stuff. Deducting one point for them not having everything available !!!

The food here is amazing. I ordered Malfati since i have heard good reviews of the dish, and it is true. Sauce is tangy and light. And the cheese corn spinach balls were good too.<br/>The second dish i ordered was dish of the day, spicy prawns with penne baked. Loved it too.<br/>The ambience is relaxing. Hospitality is good.
