Review Persian Darbar Byculla - Mumbai

Durva Bartakke
One of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever visited with my family. The Ambiance is so so so very pretty. There are many seating options available. The restaurant serves both veg and non veg varieties. We tried their VEG PLATTER which was absolutely mouthwatering. Then ordered Veg Mughlai and Mushroom Paneer makhani with Rumali rotis and chapatis. The food was very warm and delicious. Their mocktails THE BLUE CURACAO and STRAWBERRY MINT we tasty too! Overall dining experience amazing! Fo visit when in Byculla
Pritee “The Explorer”
I have visited this restaurant twice, both times my experience was good. Once we sat in shamiyana which is a private chamber for dining food with a floor seating arrangement. The second time I visited recently was where we sat on a table & had our food. Biryani, Chicken Tikka Tawa was really good. We also ordered manchow soup but it was not at all good, it was thick like gravy. You should avoid chinese here. We also ordered Rabdi which was served to us in a small earthen pot. Rabdi was good. Next to Persian Darbar, there is another restaurant of theirs which is named as Persian Banquets. It is open only on certain days of the week like Wednesday, Friday. One can dine here or bolk the whole for engagement, party etc. It's beautiful & aesthetic themed on Persian artifacts.

Firstly the ambiance, it was giving the real persian vibe . They allowed us to explore the top floors to see whats the place like even thought top floors are for families and we were two . There is AC and bathroom on all floors . The food was so tasty but we couldn't reach to the main course as our stomach was full already with starters . The food we ordered was heavy and tasty with lots of butter and cheese. The chicken was fresh and also the fish. Only disappointment was the mocktails we ordered, they were nothing but artificial flavored drinks ! Overall good place to eat .

A good place for mughlai cuisine...tried chicken sheek , prawn kabab really good. Butter tandoori roti was really awesome along with mutton keema. However biriyani was not so good.

My all-time childhood fave. This restaurant delivers the best food in terms of quality, quantity, and value for money. When I visit Byculla, I always go to this restaurant, and the hospitality and cuisine are still the same. This establishment has a great vibe. I ordered leg kepsa yesterday, and it was delicious and plentiful. The value for money for this large quantity is excellent, and the flavor was as described by my taste buds. And the packing was excellent. Thank you Persian darbar for providing us with these delectable foods.

Great interior done by team, ambience is the best, Cost per dish looks quite higher side according to food. Biryani must try dish to everyone

Taste - 5/5 Quality- 5/5 Quantity- 5/5 Price - 2/5 Ambience- 5/5 Service - 5/5 This place should be declared as the heritage restaurant for Mughlai food. Designated dastarkhan area and family room for the dining available. Price is bit on higher side but as we know great quality comes with lot of efforts and price. Service is decent. Waiters are polite and helpful.

I like this place food is awesome but I was disappointed today with Dabba Gosht guys do not order DABBA GOSHT it's a very sad dish with no taste at all very place no spice nothing waste of money 420/-, Started was good Sholey kabab & Reshami tikka although we ordered garlic chicken but they served us Reshami Tikka. Guys this is an advice don't do such silly mistake we are old customers such things for such old restaurant joint doesn't suit. Gear up now...

Food and ambience is quite good. Service wise I feel a lot can be improved. Since we went on a busy day and the waiters couldn't handle it well. Prices are a bit expensive. Though the restaurant says open till 3 am but most of the item on the menu were not available at 11 pm. Their starters are good. The custard was burnt so we had to return it. I liked their Mutton Biryani. Worth a try

Persian Darbar, Byculla - If you want to taste good non veg Mughlai food then this is the place. Been there several times. No big fanfare but good taste, quick service. Like the non veg biryani, kheema. Ideal for big groups, cost effective, home delivery possible through delivery partner.

Persian Darbar truly is a hidden gem in the city. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Persian and Indian dishes that are true to their origin. The hospitality of the staff (our host was look alike Shahrukh Khan) and the authenticity of the food make for a wonderful dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Persian Darbar, Byculla for anyone looking to explore new cuisine. The place will suit every pocket 😌

I was hyped by this place and to be honest, it did met my expectations. The food was super tasty(talking specifically about Nonveg). Deserts and drinks were also good. Food quality was nice and even in terms of quantity it was fine. It's compact but at the same time spacious with capacity to hold many people. The service was very good and quick. Staff is well trained. The vibe and ambience is also good. With all this, the food is a little expensive.

Very Old Persian Cuisine Restaurant just infront of Byculla Railway station. You will get most tender mutton here. Quality of food is awesome. Mutton Turkey Kebab are so tender and juicy you just don't want to miss it. And Fragrant Mutton Biryani is 🤩🤩😘😘. And Chef's recommended Kunafa is just soul touching. If you want to have awesome food time and you are mutton lover then this place is surely for you.

Paya soup, mix chicken platter, kepsa biryani rice. All were good. Its prices are on higher side. Bakhlawa was not that good but accompanied ice-cream was awesome

Totally dissapointed,As i had ordered many dishes from past several months due to his quality,I always prefer Persian even in high prices also but yesterday i had ordered chicken chilli kabsa and received some different cold food like egg rice with veg chilli soup.I faced very embarrassment in front of my guest.I will never ever book any meal from pesian darbar in future.Stop making fools of people.
Persian darbar one of the famou family restaurant located in by byculla. The place is quite more spacious with good comfortable seating arrangement.
They also have a traditional Indian seating arrangement called bhartiya baithak which seems to be good and much interesting
Well the dishes served by the persian darbar are superb to taste especially the butter chicken and the tandoori they are mind-blowing.

When I tried to explain that plz don't do this again the person on call was least interested had no courtesy to say sorry. This is the worst experience won't order again ever

Ordered an butter chicken for 415rs & quantity was missing.
Taste was worst.
If you guys are planning for butter chicken from PERSIAN DARBAR please don't go for it, instead try other restaurant for better butter chicken.
A big NO!

Good place in South Mumbai for biryani lovers. I always order chicken chilly kepsa rice from here. Famous restaurant in mumbai for non vegetarian food.

Chicken Leg Biryani was Tasty... Quantity was good and food was warm... Leg piece was a bit small for the price point

Rajesh Khandekar
Chicken Kepsa Biryani was too good... Food taste was too delicious and quantity was awesome. 7 of us we ate and still some biryani left that we had in the dinner. Recommend to taste it.
Kamal Lalwani
I ordered Butter chicken meal which was supposed to be served with tandoori roti or rice. As I was not given the option what I want I was expecting both or either of one.

But I was delivered chapati instead.

The portion was very small that it could not be enough for an eight years old child also. The gravy was far away to be called butter chicken.

Even lemon and onion which is commonly served in a 3rd grade restaurant was missing.

In short naam bade aur darshan chotey

In short naam
Jinal Kansara
Most shitty biryani ever had. Infact I doubt the biryani was from Persian darbar. Most worst taste and hospitality where the restaurant don't even share a bill for the order. And delivering the days most burnt biryani to customers.

If good taste is ur priority, then there no better place than Persian Darbar, they have excellent hand on the mughlai dishes and they are well known for their Raan biryani and if you are a non veg lover Raan biryani is a must try.
Ambience is very soothing, traditional and persian styled interior, if you are going with you family u should definitely try the dastarkaan.
Worth going more than once.

I went on a date with my fiancee. The staff were very courteous. They suggested their speciality dishes. The kepsa biryani was awesome. It has full chicken tandoori in it. Firni and rabdi were also very good.

Last time I had ordered Rann Biryani in my office party. That's the best dish of this restuarant. However, it needs 5-6 people to finish.

Undoubtedly one of the best and finest restaurant to offer Mughlai Food... I often visit this place with bunch of my friends to have dinner... We usually opt for Dartarkhawn seating as it quite comfy and gives you relaxing experience which makes you eat more 😉... The staircase over here gives me a feeling like you are in some castle... Restaurant has quite a lovely interior overall... Aur unke Mehmaan Nawaazi k toh kya kehne...
Kepsa Briyani is what you guys definitely need to try... It offers variety of Kepsa rice.. Garnishing and the Aroma of the kepsa but me goo Ooohhh Lalllaaa... But try it atleast between 4 pax... Everything you order here is different. .😋 Cant even explain how wobbly and deliciously awesome the food here is... 🤤

After costing 45 rupees plus taxes, this kind of fries were provided , it was just not worth it , it was tasteless plus oilly, it was very bad quality fries. I would not recommend any costumer to buy these fries.

Had a family function decided to order from Persian Darbar. We had a mixed order of Chinese and indian food. The food was good the portions were generous. We had the American chopswey which was nice and tangy with crispy noodles. The butter chicken was very good and the chicken kepsa Biryani awesome.
Must try.
Himani Date
On the occasion of Holi we were two of them there for dinner. The overall ambiance was aesthetically appealing. Pretty comfortable to have food there. The effects of light was an add on due to which the pictures were quite perfect.
Talking about the food:
-The Starter
Chicken Garlic Tikka
This starter was not only mouthwatering but also perfectly cooked and yummy as well. I highly recommend this dish. The size of tikkas were quite big which I majorly liked.

-Main Course
Chicken Seekh Masala with Butter Kulcha.
This dish is medium spicy and the quantity is perfect for 2. The taste was bomb. The kulcha was soft and cooked well.

Exploring Persian Darbar was a great experience. Overall without a doubt, it’s a place to visit again for lunch/dinner
Hope you all enjoy it as well.

As I stepped into Persian Darbar, the neighbouring road is not good,
but the food made up for it all. Dastarkhawn is very good and comfy. Lil on the Expensive side but worth it.

It's often visited by Locals and people who prefer Mughlai food.

My personal favourite is Mutton Raan and Kepsa.

MUST TRY: Mughlai is must try, Chinese not that Good, but Mughlai and seafood is very good.

The service is Pretty good but the time limit is bad for the Dastarkhawn.

Food : 4/5
Service : 4/5
Ambience : 5/5

Come back is a must if you famish for Mughlai food and traditional delicacies.

We had a great time at Persian darbar. I visited this place with my friends and we really enjoy . We ordered raan biryani, chicken soup , Lollypop and many more dishes. All were delicious. Would love to recommend this place for you all.
Food With Trappers
We have ordered chicken tikka chicken kepsa and custard everything was super cool and awesome in taste I am giving 5 stars because they deserve it clean restaurant and very humble and cooperative stuff members. I really like the way they serve food and humbleness was too good.... Chicken tikka was really good in taste the Smoky flavor of tandoor was too delicious. Garnishing and aroma of chicken kepsa ohhhh lala. I can't define in words really good sitting arrangement u you guys should visit it once❤️❤️
Rachana Hirlekar
Their service is very poor, they dont know how to deal with simple hospitality. We order soups , mix platter, tandoori chicken, murg mussalam . The platter had chicken that was dry and full of color and no flavour, the chicken tandoori looked as it its fried and not in tandoori. The murg mussalam had pieces of chicken added separately and the gravy added separately. ALL IN ALL A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Renin Williams
I ordered Mutton Kespsa and they put only bones in it. Yes that is right only bones. I was shocked!! There was no meat either on the bones!!! The butter chicken was more of chicken korma!!!!I would say they send sub-standard when you order online!!!! Highly disappointed!!!

Ordered a Kepsa Biryani. No raita, no onions, nothing sent. Taste and quality is gone for a toss. Pathetic quantity for the price.
Ambrose Holmes
One of the best places to try Biryani even if it is 3.00 AM at night...

The Finest and the oldest places to have mughlai cuisine specially a biryani. Its a spacious location which can ensure no matter how big a group is present it can be accommodated. They have a special sitting area for bigger groups.

Things ordered
1. Chicken Tikka
2. Chicken Tikka Biryani
3. Chicken Tandoori

Looking forward to visit again

Cost for two would be 800 to 1000 depending on your appetite

Tabish Ansari
Food was really bad tasting! The quantity was fine but the taste was unbearable. I felt like vomiting after eating the American chop suey. It was too sweet and disgusting. The smell was really horrible. And it had too big chunks of vegetables. Will never order again.

I ordered half chicken tandoori in the restaurant and we were served 4 pieces and even placed parcel order for half tandoori and I was give only 2 tandoori pieces.i was not even given onion or any type of chutney with it. Will recommend to check the parcel before you leave the restaurant !!! I am visiting the restaurant since last 6years and highly disappointed

I've been reviewing since long now and clearly believe in honesty is the key to food blogging.
I happened to visit Persian Darbar, Byculla yesterday to tried their most authentic, best selling and most recommended dishes.
We had a large spread of 5 course meal comprising of :
Veg Hot Pot Soup
Paneer Crispy
Paneer zaffrani Tikka
Chicken lemon Tikka
Chicken Moroccon Kebab
Veg jaipuri
Chicken bhuna
Butter naan
Rumali roti
Jeera rice
Daal fry
Arabic Bread pudding
Kunafa

Everything served on the table was different in taste. Their courteous staff earns more brownie points when it comes to recommending best the dishes and the prompt service. Persian Darabar truly depicts their value of "Mehmaan Nawazi" to the core. Their interiors, walls, chandeliers, doors will take you back to the Mughal Era.

My personal recommendations:
Don't miss Arabic Bread Pudding & Moroccon Chicken

#honestreviewsonly

A little bit expensive but definitely worth it. The chapatis and naans were very soft and tasty. The tandoori pomfret was very fresh and tasty and the chicken was very tender. Overall everything was excellent.

One of the best true blue royal experience we had was at Persian darbar..
Serence, blissful and calm ambience which shouts royality from each and every corner.
Artistic paintings on the wall, vintage Chandler, comfy seating and Extremely humble staff who attend you so gracefully that adds to the charm of the entire place.

I would highly recommend you to try their mughlai and Arabic delicacies that to non vegetarian.
🔺Absolutely delicious paya soup with perfect blend of spices
🔺 Moroccan cheese chicken - If you ever want to try a cheese chicken loaded starter that is mild yet tender, juicy n flavourful then you should not miss this one. Highly recommended 👍
🔺Prawn koliwada which was nice and crisp and delicately spiced.
🔺Mutton sali boti was the best with tender succulent pieces of boneless mutton cooked in tomato onion based gravy topped with potato salli.
🔺Reshmi paratha - i have to admit this was the best Reshmi paratha i had till date. Extremely light on the palette and full of flavours.
🔺Caramel custard - highly recommended as i cannot explain in words how wobbly and delicious it was.
🔺Bakhlava - too good.

Located opp byculla station its a very old restaurant .Familiar with this place since quite long and have ordered from them multiple times but my dinning experience with them was really A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The ambiance of this place is really beautiful,it has interiors with Shahi Nawabi touch , a huge restaurant with 5 floors having pvt dinning rooms on each floor which has shamiana seating. Visited them yesterday as one of my abroad friend met us after long time and it was a get together for which we were eagerly waiting for so planned for dinner at Persian darbar thinking that this place will surely not disappoint us. We were around 13 to 14 ppl so thought of booking their shamiana seating(PDR) but when we called them they said they dont take reservation on wed and other weekend days and its only first cm first serve which we understood so few of us visited them around 8 pm but as soon as we asked for that shamiana seating dis guys told us let everyone com n den only they can allow us to enter that pvt room, also we did order few starters and soup then too they made us wait for good 45 mins, we were begging n requesting them to allow us as many of dem were expected by 9 directly by offc but they made us wait at the entrance IT WAS PATHETIC, They din even had ny waitings cz of whch we were treated in this way. Finally they allowed us to enter one of their PDR section but the seating whch they gave us was not sufficient enough so we asked them to give us a bigger area and here again they were arguing wid us as if they are giving free food. Finally we called manager he too argued a lot saying that they allow table only for 1 hr and not more than that and many such foolish talks... after lot of argument finally they gave us a bigger PDR. Food was good

WE ORDERED FOR-
Aap Gosht Soup
Chk sweet corn soup
Chk manchow soup
Mutton seekh Kebab
Mix nonveg Platter
Bheja Masala/fry
Rotis
Chkn Kepsa Biryani

and in desserts, Caramel Custard
Phirni
Kulfi

Later on the service which they gave was very good but first impression is the last impression they jus started with Mess,Managers are very rude and unprofessional,DONT HAVE IMPORTANCE OF GUEST AND HOSPITALITY...

Pretty good. Never expected healthy food but the more you eat, stomach doesn't fill like it does in other restaurants maybe because they do not add artificial stuff. Had chicken tikka masala and nan/roti and mutton biriyani.
Food You Should

We ordered a lot of things for our family get together from Persian Darbar. The food was average and not at all up to Persian Darbar standards. Mutton chaap masala was good but could have been less sour. Butter daal was excellent. The most disappointing was Behja Fry. It was so tasteless that it felt like they have forgotten to add salt. Did not expect it to be so poor.

Persian Durbar is located in Byculla .
This is a spread over 6 level with each level having its own beautiful decor including floral carpets , velvet curtains , fancy wall art , comfortable seating arrangement & attractive lights which enhance the overall dining experience .

We tried the following items :

Cocktail Juice : This was served in a tall glass having an amalgamation of a variety of fresh fruits which was very refreshing & hydrating .

Spring Roll : Finely sliced veggies wrapped in a roll & deep fried served with a tongue tickling chutney . Ideal crisp hot appetiser which was very delicious .

Tandoori Paneer : Large chunks of marinated paneer grilled to perfection .Loved it .The paneer simply melted in the mouth .

Chilli paneer : Chinese style paneer cooked to perfection in chinese sauces .Really enjoyed this .

Honeymoon Dessert : Very unique name & very special indeed . This had butterscotch pieces , butterscotch icecream along with fruits & rose syrup .Thoroughly enjoyed it .

The servers are polite & service is quick . This place is ideal for family get togethers to celebrate special occasions .

Both were down of earth person.
Persian darbar just 2 mins walking distance from byculla railway station.
I just got stunned by seeing their ambience in khayma (4th floor) section. They bought famous painter from dubai & that gentleman use his canvas art on wall. Every painting on wall just marvelous. I got fallen love that art. I've been visiting this place for over 25 years, there's no nicer place for mughlai cuisine in the city...Their Biryani is delicious beyond words, try their kebabs, tandoori chicken and chicken tikka or butter chicken with awesome rotis, prawns etc....
You must try their Caramel Custard....

One of the things I Miss about Bombay ♥️

Almost a lot of people this side of town know that Persian Darbar excels in culinary finesse. But sadly, over time, such as all great things, there comes what we call in the management world as 'decline', but here's the catch, despite the failing service, taste and quality, they've managed to retain their brand. Even now a lot of loyal fans and newbies would line up to get a bite on the get go.

But allow me to differ. We humans are simple folk, really, all we do is eat, sleep and repeat. All in between is a bonus, now as I stay pretty close to the said restaurant, it comes as no surprise that I've ordered and dined here many a time. Here's a recent example, I went in and ordered mutton biryani, and what I got was bones and stale rice. I'd love to post a picture but that would literally make some people sick; I must not sink the ship I am on just to kill the captain.

Now after ordering it and being ultimately not satisfied I informed the waiter, who promptly took away the dish and returned with even more bones, like brother, where is the meat? I mean we aren't dogs to be fed bones. And I soon informed the management, who took absolutely no interest whatsoever, literally in the mentality of 'ek jayega toh das aaeya'. It was rather unprofessional and uncalled for, I mean, one kind word can warm three winter months, but here we had a careless rasoi with the attitude of an ox. Unfortunately, I didn't find meat to eat that day, I walked out dissatisfied and disappointed. There must have been many like me, no wonder they give free gulab jamuns for home delivery. (rock hard though, I give them to my kids to play cricket)

Living up to the brand name is a small joy ride, when it burns out, heads roll and future crumbles.

Ordered chicken crispy. price was too costly, if compared to normal restaurants prices i would have got 2xChickenCrispy. quantity and quality was not upto the restaurant's mark. was disappointed that it was waste of money

A very bad experience with the most renowned hotel. Raan rice being its most famous dish, was ordered by us.
It was shocking to taste coz it was awful. There was no meat and only bones in the rice.
Also, puked after eating the food.
The restaurant did not met expectations at all.

Visited this place recently for a late night dinner with friends after a long time. The Persian Darbar in Byculla have 5 storey building. It gives you hookah parlour vibes while you go upstairs. The ambience is mindblowing with mughlai vibes. The food tastes great as well.

We have ordered :
•Chicken Schezwan Kepsa (Half)
•Chicken Kentony (Half)
•Butter Naan
•Mango Ice cream and Custard

Cost : Approx 2000rs

The quantity and quality was up to the mark with affordable price. This place is good for midnight meals as they are open till 3am. I would definitely suggest this place for you to try once for Mughlai Cuisines

Rates - 4/5
Ambience - 5/5
Value for money - 5/5
Service - 5/5
Would love to visit again💖
