Friendly front of house lady at the ground floor welcomed us with a smile. Restaurant is located on 2nd floor of the building, they have valet parking. We ordered Sweet Corn Chicken soup, Grilled Chicken Burnt Onion & Garlic, Crispy Spinach Chicken, Prawn Dumpling, Tsinghai Chicken, Chicken Coriander Pot Noodles, Chicken fried rice and Chicken American chopsuey. I thought the food here was excellent, it has a really interesting combination of South and East Asian flavours with great value for money and a wonderful staff. You will definitely be satisfied and every burp will have that Chinese Flavours. Highly recommend!

Good place for Chinese food. Loved the Chicken Satay and China Gate special soup. The quantity of dishes is pretty good for two people. Can't say much for drinks as they were just OK. Service was very good with well attended tables. Even without making reservations we got the best tables. Would love to visit again!

China Gate Restaurant in Bandra on Waterfield Road is a very, very popular restaurant. Even though it has lots of seating all round, yet it is full during peak business hours and other times too. We had Hot n Sour soup and Sweet Corn Chicken soup to start with and Crispy Chicken thread with noodles as appetizer and enjoyed thoroughly. We visited this place for dinner on a weekday, and it looked very promising but turned out to be average. We order 2 appetisers, both of which were really ok.. nothing great! The staff was very kind and helpful and the valet deserves a 5star rating, very good people. Nice place for private party - staff is also nice -- well maintained place - I visited here on 1st Feb- my 1st visit . Before I visit I got only location address in my WhatsApp message I just copied it and pasted on google map. It took exactly at the location. I wasn't sure about the place because it was night time . Then I just read the tag in entrance it was China gate . Then I entered in came up from lift then top steps for banquet hall . It's lovely place on roof top nice concept even the view is nice .. and main part is you can party whole night no sound will go outside the door .. let's c wen I visit this place next time . Placed an order just before 8pm on 19th September 2020. Received it at after 10pm!!! 2 hours for delivery!!! 😡 😤 Called China Gate 11 times!!! Called 2 different valets 9 times!!! And even visited the restaurant!!! They sent the delivery to the wrong address twice!!! Never again will we order from this place which we have frequented and ordered from twice a month ever since it opened up in Bandra!!! The call centre couldn’t care less and never calls back or resolves the issue!!! Pathetic!!! Well there are tons of better Asian restaurants in BANDRA/Khar so good riddance China Gate!!!

My mother loves the food here and we were celebrating her quarantine bday and were so glad when we realised that China Gate is up and delivering! We did slightly over order in our excitement and then ended up eating the food over 2 days. Our favourite is of course crispy threaded chicken, it's a dish we have been eating since childhood so it was super comforting. The food is consistent and doesn't fail us.

I simply love Chinese food and this is my go to place when I am in same area. China Gate with a total of four restaurants spread across the city is an old favourite. Walk into any of their outlets and you'll find full tables with happy diners polishing off their meal. We have gone for buffet and it was extensive with lovely food and dessertz The menu consists of almost every conceivable Chinese dish, mostly the Indo-Chinese Fusion people love. Service is prompt for the most part but they tend to get flustered on busy nights. Food tends to be oily as most Indo-Chinese is, but people keep coming back for more.

Absolutely unprofessional, totally killed the mood! Delivery took over 2 hours! Firstly the app was not working properly so i called the restaurant and confirmed my order. And for over 2 hours they didn’t deliver and i almost called 5 times asking for the status and they had no answer! Is this what we should expect from such hi end restaurants? What kind of service is this? I can totally understand delays but at least keep the customer informed, they were kind enough to answer my calls but unfortunately they had no information to give me which left me super annoyed. I hope u guys would have let me enjoy my meal, all the enthu was lost amidst waiting for the deliver for over 2 hours

China Gate always served the best Chinese food in Bandra .I was a regular guest at China Gate .On this ocassion the food was pathetic . Chicken was smelling , must be stale . NOODLES AWFULL NO VEGETABLES AND BLAND . I reported the poor quality of food , China Gate immediately replaced the order ,which was equally bad .we must demand refund for poor service . What appears is that regular chef is on leave due to Covid 19 .

We generally order from China Gate very often. That is why it is even more disappointing when they deliver stale food when we are regular customers. The Prawn in hot garlic sauce was smelling rotten. Better not to serve prawns if you can’t maintain the quality! Disappointed!

A gateway to yummy food.... Visited this place after a long time on Valentines day.... Managed to get a table real quick considering the small family size... They had decorated the place nice with red balloons... A nice touch... Now to the food... Had the chicken dumplings and lamb in ginger garlic.... Both dishes were smack yummy... So yummy that we went for a second helping of the dumplings... Fresh, well prepared and well seasoned... Finger licking food... The staff are okay... Due to the crowds there was a lag in the service but they were always smiling so could not even complain... Enjoyed this food gateway and look forward to my next visit... Happy Eating!!!

One of the best places to have chinese cuisine .tried the sweet corn soup which was really delicious and tasty .for starters we tried crispy corn with waterchestnuts which was very delicious. Had paneer in red chilli pepper sauce which was very well made . Right amount of heat and very flavourful. Loved the paneer in dual sauce a mix of 2 gravies. A green sauce lill sweet but very flavourful. Fried rice was well cooked and nice crunch in the veggies . They have a good spread of desserts to choose from. China Gate is special, no doubt about it. You see, it's very difficult to strike the right balance between Indian Chinese and Chinese Chinese. China Gate bridges that gap effortlessly. It was just after Christmas and we started off with steamed chicken dumpling, The dumplings were well-made and had an ample stuffing. We followed it up with Hakka Noodles and grilled chicken in Blackbean sauce. The service was fast, and the quantities generous. We were also given complimentary pastries because we had booked a table through an app. The pastries were pretty appalling. And that's why China Gate gets a 3 and not a 4 from me.

I have been moved after months to review a place again. China Gate is an excellent establishment. I found their service very good; the staff were very courteous and hospitable. The ambiance itself is cozy and very good for families. Coming to the food, it was excellent! We had Prawn Dumplings followed by Malaysian Chicken Noodles and Hong Kong Nutty Chicken. No complaints at all. But my favourite but was dessert which was the gooey chocolate. With a texture like cotton but better than cotton, it's one of those desserts that I will look for in every new dessert place I go to. Love it. Will come back for more!

Food was very SAD. we go out for Diwali dinner every yr.. The restaurant was over packaged which shd be normal for this time of the yr.. Noodles were dipping in oil.. Chicken was smelly.. Service was bad.. except the soup there. was nothing else I can say tht we liked.Spinach was raw n full of sugar..All the dishes had extra sugar..Dont understand why Sugar has to be added in all dishes..We can order dessert if we want Sweet. Hope the management makes necessary changes if not dont see a good future...

The food was downright unpalatable.. it started with the super slow service.... Moved on to starters... crispy spinach was RAW, coated with oil and it was as if we were eating raw leaves coated with oil and sugar. Hot basil chicken- rubber chicken would have been a better name. Corn curd... full of oil.... Moving on to main course- Korean Rice - sweet, Hakka Noodles - boiled noodles tossed in oil and 4 pieces of vegetables, Shredded chicken- Stinking pieces of meat. All in all... worst experience of all times. A suggestion to the management - pls dont keep the restaurant open if you have a shortage of staff. Its unfair to people like us who want to celebrate the festival.

After long time I went out with my girlfriend for dinner and we started with couple of drink and ordered starter but that was not good at all immidiately server Bir Bahadur came to my table and had quality check but we was not satisfied moment he change the dish without saying anything and got fresh portion of chicken hot basil with dry chili garlic sauce, appetizer was mouth watering followed by he recommended one of the noodles in shandon style was super outstanding. During main course shubham taken care of us throughout till bill. Nice guy ! Will definitely visit again Small feedback - 1) Manager should meet each & every guest atleast once to check overall satisfaction. 2) Give some munchies along with drink order . Anyway keep it up . Since 1993, China Gate Restaurants When in Bandra west and want to have one of the tasty Chinese food then you must visit here. They have a wide range of veg and non vegetarian food. At times there is a waiting but it's always worth. A huge place which gets pretty busy especially in the evenings on weekends. Overall a good experience. Also has been in Bandra since a long time. A wonderful place. I was here for a corporate party. The food was really tasty and wholesome. The staff was really friendly and professional. They diligently served food at the tables, keeping a keen watch and knowing what was needed where.

We visited china gate after a very long time and we were pleasantly surprised with the good food, ambience and service. We began with chicken manchow soup followed by appetisers which consisted of crispy spinach chicken, Kung pao chicken balls, some golden prawns and pepper chicken. All of the starters were good in flavours. Main course was burnt garlic fried rice, Hakka chicken noodles and chicken manchurian and chicken Hunan gravies. A pleasant surprise was the desserts.. special mention for the chocolate hazelnut pastry which was divine. It was a good family dinner.

Home delivered: On a Saturday night when i was craving for good Chinese food, my friend suggested to order from China gate. The food was delicious! We ordered for: kung pao paneer: this was little dry to my taste and bland. Chilly garlic noodles: not to spicy and not to sweet and goes well with any gravy. Veg manchurian: quantity was good. The manchurian balls were very soft and gravy is sufficient for 2-3 ppl. Ask for their kimchi salad and dry noodles!

My favourites which I usually order while at the restaurant and order in at my house ( They have their own app on IOS and on Android , wherein the prices for home delivery and take aways are almost 40 % lower plus they give you an additional 10-15% discount if you order through the app ) . The must haves here are Appetisers Crispy Spinach Chicken / Paneer Hakka Fish/Chicken Steamed Dumplings Corn Cream Veg Steam Jade Rolls Butter Garlic Prawns Main Course Chicken / Paneer Stewed Rice Veg / Egg Fried Rice Paneer/ Chicken/Fish in Green Sauce Wooly Chicken Soho Chicken Veg Manchurian I can go on & on about their extensive menu of which most of the dishes are tried and are excellent . The soup is usually very good but today's order had excessive amount of salt, I spoke to the Zomato executive and requested for a replacement of the soup as it was unpalatable. It’s a Wednesday, so it’s not even like the place is packed. On such a day, when you get stale and tasteless food it’s not fun. We called for manchow and sweet corn soup. The manchow soup was okay, but the sweet corn soup was tasteless. We had to send back half the food as it was either undercooked or drowning in oil. (Tasted like refried food) especially the fried spinach. Have been here quite a few times, but this was by far a sad experience. Also, to top all of this off, when we asked the Valet guy to get our car, he gave us the key and said, “it’s parked in the lane, here are the keys”. I mean wow! 😮

Had been to this place to explore their Chinese food and loved it the the core. Crispy Spinach here is a must must try(highly recommended) then comes Tsinghai Chicken, it was too good in taste. Also had ordered prawns something something I don't rememberthe name as the chef has suggested us the best of it. So I would suggest that you order food ASAP. ADVICE TO MANAGEMENT - Food is terrific. Kudos to the chef. - As far as the service is concerned, I would have expected better with eateries for such price bracket. - Severely need to improve the hygiene standards. Placed an order Cancelled within 5 mins Had to pay for the entire order because apparently "Food was prepared" Now if food was prepared within 5 minutes I'm seriously questioning the quality of food here And if it wasn't then why was I charged the entire amount for the order

Ordered a black bean chicken gravy dish and the waiter served me the wrong dish in spite of me asking him if he was serving the correct dish. It took 15 minutes of explaining just for them to understand that they had served me the wrong dish. While I appreciate the fact that they replaced the meal, the entire experience was so frustrating that the dinner was ruined. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with their service. I usually order from this place once in 10 days, will no longer be ordering from them again.

Disaster! The Management does not ensure a quiet ambience. Rowdy, noisy groups always. Forget the food or the service. Happens all the time; cannot carry on a simple conversation due to highly unruly groups. Am not returning.

This place is a delight for Chinese lovers. Serving since 1992, China gate started in Bandra and has many outlets & brands across Mumbai today. This place has stuck to some old school policies till date. Great ambience, vast menu, simple; delicious & authentic food. Best service !!! Everything on their menu is worth trying, their manthow bread is one of its kind. My personal favourite is the Thai basil sauce, momos and manthow bread. Long live brand China Gate!

This is located on Waterfield Road. Just landed here randomly with friends. Service was good and staff was also nice in talking. Crispy Spinach Chicken was crunchy and spicy which make it worth of money.

Lucky day for me as I stumbled upon this place very randomly as opposed to searching on Zomato. What stood out about this diner was the very caring and courteous service, in particular, Mr.Bhumi who I am guessing was the floor manager for the night. Ordered a couple of Heinekens to go with the spice of what we were about to order. Decided to go entirely meaty and avoid any rice or noodles so that we had maximum space in tummies for meats. First came the boneless whole pomfret. This was fresh, smooth and well made. I would recommend this as a must try. Next came the chicken dimsums. Turned out to be absolutely sumptuous. They were wiped out so quickly that I forgot to take a picture of them even though I had decided to. We followed this up with a whole crab dish that was out of the shell. This was not as impressive as the first two items. To end the meal on a high, I called for a chocolate mousse. Which I would say was good but not exactly delectable. It was obvious that the desserts were not exactly that fresh as they were on display. That glossy texture was missing on all the desserts. But on the whole a very memorable culinary experience which I would be happy to rehash as well as recommend. Good job China Gate!

China gate attitude on holi day was pathetic. It sucks! This is the kind of attitude which leads to restaurants shutting down. We ordered through Zomato...order no. 11034044962. The delivery boy was waiting there for 45 mins and the staff tells him “if they want the food so desperately tell them come and get it !” It’s over an hour and we are still waiting
