Review Hello Guppy - Mumbai

abhijit ekbote
Great place to go to after work. Started buzzing by 8 . The interiors were done tastefully and their Japanese cuisine was very good. The sushi had many options and we tried 2 of them, both great! Difficult to miss this place as there is a nice art installation just outside it.

Hello Guppy ❤️ I recently visited Hello Guppy for their Aloha Tiki Festival. This was my first time to try authentic Japanese food in Mumbai and I was floored by this cuisine. They served us some really nice Drinks and Food dishes from their Special Tiki Fest menu. The service was excellent. We tried some nice dishes like Loco Moco Chicken, Tuna Poke, Pork Croquettes and some yummy Salmon and Prawn Sushi. The Food is simply spectacular. In desserts we tried the Japanese eggless Waffle and the Chocolate Fondant. I loved both the desserts. It was a perfect end to our lovely Lunch. Food: 5/5 Staff: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Value for Money: 5/5

Hello Guppy I have been to this place first time. As I have heard very good reviews about this place. The ambience of this place is a mixture of Japanese murals and lighting that has an oriental vibe. The whole place is done up with bright colors that come together beautifully and catches attention as one eats their meal. Service wise the staff was very warm and welcoming. The service is pretty quick and the attendants are well versed with the menu. Now, when I visited the place for the tasting of their newly launched Chinese/ Asian menu I had different experience in terms of food. Started off with some of cocktails Guppy Sake and Fisherman’s Tonic. What I tried: Tom Yum Soup: Asked for Chicken Manchow Soup but that was not available so have to order this. Nice flavors. Taste wise it was good but very watery. Can’t finish the full bowl. Salt Pepper Calamari: Hot and crisp calamari pair perfectly with beer or sake. Decent portion size. Go for it. AD Baba Chicken: It was more on sweeter side. Missing the punch in this dish. Hunan Prawns: Again the same thing. Here Prawns was not cooked properly and also it was sweet. Please get the basics right Chef. We had two desserts which was from their original menu. Both the desserts were Wow. Overall, they have to look after their new menu properly. They have the potential and the pricing could be looked into. Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Value for Money: 4/5 P.S: The review is strictly depending on my personal experience.

The land of the Rising Sun has always managed to drive us inquisitive with their love for fishes and their ever fresh and natural delights. Now, this beautiful land and its cuisine has been brought to us in one of the most quirkiest and chic ways possible with Hello Guppy! Unique tables, bubbly interiors and well, something fishy too! We were recently here to give their Japanese cuisine a try and we were definitely impressed. What’s an evening without great drinks! So, we started off with the Fisherman's Tonic. Now this one was a gin based drink loaded with the essence of elderflower and more. It had a taste of cucumber and lime which gave it a refreshing touch with a swirl of tonic. Next one was as quirky as it sounds! The Gummy Drop was loaded with strawberry milkshake and squished gummy bears. We tried two more from their never ending and extremely vast menu. The Atom Bomb and the Bubble Wrap arrived and we chugged them down in no time. The atom bomb was vodka based and had a sweet peachy flavour. Passion fruit and apple gave it a sour sweet touch and made it taste even better. The bubble wrap on the other hand, had a flavour of matcha green tea with a hint of coconuts to give it a tropical and rich taste. Coming to the food, we started off with the Crisp Vegetable Harumaki. Now this one was crunchy on the outside and extremely soft inside. Tender vegetables covered in filo were really delicious. The sauce served at the side gave it a lot of flavour making it even better. Next one was from their range of sushi. The Avocado, Cucumber, and Cream Cheese Roll was made with black rice stuffed with an crisp interior. The avocado and cream cheese gave it a sweet creamy taste overall and the sushi turned out to be absolutely delicious. The Asparagus Tempura Roll on the other hand was crispy and was rolled up in a bed of white rice with the healthy touch of asparagus. It had a proper amount of sweetness and flavour just to keep up its subtleties. The Mushroom Udon Noodles were the next to arrive. The noodles tasted like an authentic Japanese dish with three different types of mushrooms. Along with the mushrooms, there were other veggies too, adorning the noodles. The stirred up deliciousness had a spicy touch to it with the sweet juiciness of mushroom. This dish has huge quantity and its very filling. Moving on to the desserts, we tried the Raindrop Cake and the Mango and Raspberry Parfait first. The raindrop cake is a classic native to Japan. It gets its name by the appearance and it was topped with crackers and pops to give it a unique touch. The cake is clear and served with syrup on the side. The texture was jiggly and tasted sweet-sour. It was absolutely delicious and one of a kind too. The Mango and Raspberry Parfait was another delicacy with alternative crumbs of cereals and fruits. The mango on top with lots of layers all the way to the bottom with the raspberry compote was all in all a great and delicious dish. The Blueberry Crepe was the last one and yes, it was unique too. Mini crepes served with blueberry compote and loaded with whipped. This was served with a variety of fruits and a flambé done with brandy. Overall, the place is a jewel and amongst one of the top places serving Japanese cuisine. In fact, one could easily say that the food coupled up with this chic ambience definitely is the only place in town to truly experience the land of the Rising Sun! Ambience: 5/5 Taste Quotient: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5

Loved the food here, especially the broth. This place has 2+2 on drinks for Zomato Gold members. Nice place to go and chill with friends. Since the music is not so loud, it's a nice place to have conversations with friends and enjoy some good food and drinks.
Good Food
Mushroom Suimone: It is a clear soup with a dominant flavor of mushroom along with a ting of truffle in it. The soup also contains boiled flat noodles in it which adds a little bit of bite in it. Spicy Salmon roll: Being a Japanese restaurant, sushis are Hello Guppy's USP. The sushis here are well presented and have a very beautiful texture. The staff here is really friendly and they do teach you how to eat those sushis in a traditional Japanese manner. When eaten with a house special chili sauce, these traditional sushis have a mild flavor at the start, but has a strong spicy and a tuna dominant flavor inside. Udon Noodles with exotic Mushrooms: Well who said Japanese restaurants aren't for vegetarians. These flat noodles have a zingy tomato flavor along with sautéed mushrooms which made this noodle bowl exotic indeed. Chicken karage: With flavorful spicy crust and a hot and juicy chicken core, this appetizer is a must try at Hello Guppy ! It might seem to be a little bit dry from the outside, but it is really zingy and juicy from the inside making it absolutely delectable. Mount fiji: This cocktail has a sweet amazing flavor of a fusion of peach, passion fruit and apple in it with a twist of vodka. Bittersweet symphony: This is one heck of a smooth drink ! It has very domainant bitter flavor at the start with sweet ending on each sip keeping an absolutely amazing balance of flavors. Mushroom Takikomi rice with salmon: The sticky rice has strong curry flavors along with a salmon on the top. The salmon had a beautiful pink color and was cooked to perfection. It was easily being sliced with a chopstick and had some brilliant flavors when eaten with the sticky rice.

HELLO GUPPY - THE NOODLE BAR (Yes you read it correct) they have revamped. From Japanese they are Noodle Bar concept. Decor remains the same. Focus is more on Baos, Sushi's Spicy Udon Noodles Donburi Ramen Burgers and Bowls. Yes and their amazing Tikki Cocktails and menu which they have launched. Vibe and energy is amazing. Packed on a weekday. Started of with the Classic Mai Tai (Rum Based Drink) Old Monk with orange and Bitters. Followed this with Hello Zombie - Sambuca based strong along with Rum. Food - Tuna and avocado Pork (Hawaiian's Love) Combination of Fresh Tuna, Pork, sweetness of plum and Daikon Radish curd in soy-sesame balanced the dish. Lovely texture served with Pickled with cucumber and seaweed. Baos - slow cooked Chashu and the other one was Chicken Bao, Fresh. Got the crunchiness from the tempura fritters. Honey soy got the glaze. Pickled Radish iceberg complemented. Miso Mustard sauce elevated the flavours. No flaws. Salmon Sashimi with Tuna was good. Do try. Goes well with Wasabi and soy. HG PORK BELLY - Melt in mouth. Signature dish. Made to perfection. It's slow braised. Sheen was good/Glaze. Magic from the soy honey. Gave that sour sweet combination. Mustard Miso sauce balanced the dish. Served on a skewer. Sweet and Picked Spiced Chicken - something different. Panco Fried chicken with sweet/chilli sauce. One can have this with curry or just the way it is. Texture was good. Topped with Tart Miyo sauce. Do try this. Sushi - Mango being in the news, HG has some interesting Mango based sushi on their menu. For the Vegetarians try the Mango Avocado - a mix of subtle/sweet touch. Compact - in short madewell. Their Non Veg version is Mango Tuna which again had a good balance. California Roll Latin Black Rice sushi is different. Organic rice. This had Crab/cucumber/avocado and flying fish eggs. Signature dish. Mains - stick to the basics. ----------------------------- UDON NOODLES (Thick/flat/wheat based) we asked for Chicken. Apart from Vegetables and mushrooms they Fried chicken. Taste - Tangy and spicy as they used black pepper. A meal by itself. Scallions and sesame as a garnish. Presentation was good. Ramen - Another must have at GH (The Noodle Bar) this was lovely. Miso based. Either a hit or a miss. Strong Miso Ramen (Signature dish) this has Spicy Miso stock. Basically Ramen are egg noodles either served with soy or Miso. This also had broccoli/corn/sprouts seaweed and Boiled egg along with the noodles. Overall good. Dessert - Stuck to the popular TAIYAKI SUNDAE (eggless Japanese pancake) these come in a shape of a fish. Made in house. Served with chocolate and raspberry Sorbet. Do Try. Sweetness of chocolate and citrus touch of raspberry. Overall - My take on this place as always been well. Now that It's a Noodle bar, lot of changes happening. Do keep a track on the menu and the festivals happening. Enjoy HG and keep smiling. Cheers.

BKC keeps surprising us every time we plan to visit a new place in the hub . This time it was time to say Hello Guppy. Even though it's a hardcore Japanese Cuisine Restaurant they have still kept enough options to savour for Vegetarians like us . The Cafe Style Menu is definitely a must try for all those looking forward to have some Delicious western dishes with a Japanese Twist . Highlighting the dishes which we savoured out here . Soyabean Hummus & Sesame Lavash : Hummus done abosultely well and goes great with the Crisp Sesame Lavash. Indeed a health food lovers delight. Pan Grilled Broccoli: Every single broccoli had a crunch along with a succulent taste of Sauces in which it was soaked after being grilled . An amazing experience. Almost everyone can give their taste buds a lift after dining at this place which also has a bar. If you love Japanese cuisine you are guaranteed to fall in love with this place. Although they take a bit more time than usual to prepare their food but it turns out to be worth the wait and their portions aren’t as much as they charge for it but they use exotic ingredients which increases the cost.

This is my favourite Japanese place in india so far and that’s coming from someone who has lived in japan for two years. I have had their pork and it was absolutely tender. The next time I did their set meal and it was flawless. I highly recommend going there for your next Japanese meal and it won’t fail you! I’m dying to go back already.

Nice hi-tech neon Tokyo vibe. The tables are too cramped. The distance between two places must be more. The food is great. Loved the prawn tempura sushi and the Katsu chicken curry. Worthy of a visit.

Hello Guppy!!! As cute as its name, Hello Guppy springs across a very pleasant surprise that introduces you to Japanese comfort food. It tickles your palate with delicate flavors, letting you appreciate finer nuances of the cuisine, yet keeping it super chick and super comfortable. Coming to the food, which is usually the main star of any restaurant, was different, tasty and super fresh. Lets begin my review. 1) BBLT Ramen Burger - When your ramen noodles takes a trip to burger land!! The biggest gigantic burger I have had in a longgggg time. The burger starts with a ramen noodle patty, then some fresh veggies, then a humungus pork pattie, cheese, mayo, mustard, fried egg anf another patty. Soooo good, delicious and does not leave you feeling guilty. Its totally recommended. 2) Tiger Prawns Tempura – Simple tempura fried prawns served with aioli and prawns poppadoms. The coasting was crispy and when combined with the aioli was brilliant. 3) California Rolls – I love Sushi… it’s a complete meal in its self. This one had crabs and when paired with lemon grass infused soya sauce, I was in sushi heave!! 4) Grilled Chicken Wings – Simple chicken wings, infused with soya and smoke to give it their signature smokiness. Though dry from the outside, it was moist inside so great job done! 5) Hokkaido Rayu Miso Ramen – Simple Ramen noodles, in a miso based broath, served with veggies and soya cured half porced egg. The flavors are delicate and the entire bowl is extremely soothing. 6) Prawn Garlic fried rice – Pan fried prawns rice. Simple, authentic and delicious. Served with fried garlic slices. 7) Pork Belly - I love pork belly. the fat, the tender meat chuncks, the sweet sauce that engulfs it all.. yumm 8) Matcha White Chocolate Mocha – A green tea in a cappachino styke infused with white chocolate. Relaxing indeed! 9) Taiyaki - A signature specialty of the house. This is served with three scoops of ice cream (Vanilla, Caramel and coffee) Sandwiched between a fish shaped pan cake. The pan cake looked super stunning Cocktails 1) Pineapple Refresher – A Sake based drink with pineapples, rosemary, ginger ale and other goddies. The drink was unique and love the combination of flavours. 2)Nippon Cooler – A star. When rosemary and grape fruit come together, the create a magical combination 3) Hokkon Nikko – what I loved about this is that you can have it hot cold or at room temperature. Just a straight drink. Overall – Hello Guppy is extremely cute, fun, vibrant and makes you happy. Thought the food is different that our Indian cuisine, this defiantly leaves a lasting memory. The must try in the Ramen burger here. Bon Appetite !

OMG!!!!! Where do i even start. Decided to visit this place with my bestie on a Thursday. After juggling our lives with the overpriced rickshaw wala, finally managed to reach here. The set up is so amazing, as soon as you enter the place, you will see every possible color starting from the decor to the plates and even spoons. The place is so lively and vibrant. Post office colleagues chilling out, some fancy people enjoying their authentic Japanese food and somewhere novices like me trying to figure out how to even pronounce the dish name (hehe). I loved this place to the core. Highly recommended for Japanese food. Few details Food type-Veg and Non veg Alcohol-Yes Service – Quick Staff – friendly Cost – a bit heavy on the pocket Must try – Porkbelly, Prawn tempura roll, Chicken katsu kare rice, Chicken karaage, Mount Fuji, Matcha Fondant, Smooth criminal Here is what we tried: Miso soup – fermented soybean paste in kelp dashi, with tofu, wakame, seasonal vegetables and spring onions Mushroom suimono – shiitake mushroom and truffle scented clear soup Chirashi Seafood Salad – Prawns, tuna, salmon, crab stick and mixed greens tossed in vegetable and sesame goma ae dressing Chicken Karaage – Japanese soy and sake marinated fried chicken served with spicy kewpie sauce. I fell in love with this dish Hello Guppy’s Signature Pork Belly – Slow braised pork belly, glazed with soy honey; served with mustard miso sauce. This is some serious foodgasm stuff. People you have to try this. Don’t miss out on this dish (thank me later) Prawn tempura roll – Tiger prawn tempura, cucumber and spicy dressing. A must try sushi (and yeah the prawn is cooked not raw) Chicken Katsu Kare rice – Panko fried succulent checken leg, served with Japanese curry and steamed rice. It is a necessary try. Loved the curry flavours Chashu Ramen Miso – Home-made egg noodles served in a miso-flavoured pork borth; simmered over a fire for 72 hours and topped with spinach, corn, bean sprouts, wakame seaweed and boiled egg. How fancy right. Mango & Raspberry Parfait – Layers of chocolate soil, crème patissiere and cornflakes; served with homemade ice cream. Matcha Fondant – Matcha soufflé with a gooey matcha centre. I have never had such an amazing dessert. Bittersweet Symphony – Sweet vermouth, whiskey and bitters smoked to perfection and served in a frozen martini glass. For Guppy’s sake – A unique blend of vanilla vodka and sake, shaken with freshly muddled lemon, galangal and lemongrass Atom Bomb – An atomic combination of vodka, peach schnapps, passion fruit nectar and apple. It was yummy as hell Sawanotsuru Deluxe – It was my first time ever tasting SAKE. Can’t judge it much. Smooth Criminal – Strawberry, litchi and kiwi (A must must try) Passion on the grass – cranberry, passion fruit, kaffir lime and lemongrass sours. It was decent enough

Food is good, primary reason for visiting a restaurant. Service is endearing. Though I found the decor too childish for my taste. My son seemed to have loved it. It was a good experience.

Good Bye Guppy !!! I along with my friends had been to Hello Guppy owned by Olive Bar & Kitchen on Sunday 3 Sep 2017. I had given my car to the valet to park it. Once we were done with the dinner..we were all getting our pictures clicked... suddenly we hear sounds of screeching and as soon as we ran to check what it was..it was my car being used by the valet of Hello Guppy to learn driving and best part was that the person driving the vehicle did not even have a valid driving license..he possessed an Auto Rickshaw license that too had expired in Jan 2017..he drove my vehicle with the hand brake on... We waited almost for 2 hours for the police to come... however even after repeatedly calling them no one turned up...and we by now understood the reason for the police not showing up.. Director of Olive Bar & Kitchen tells me at 2 AM...almost 2 hours post the episode that now you guys leave and come back tomorrow for lunch and we shall discuss it.. By then we had lost all hopes in the brand of Olive Bar and Kitchen and took the driver along with manager Stobert to BKC police station to only hear from them that go home and sleep..we can't do anything..what complain do we write.. And the whole saga ends there... My car has undergone massive damage and no one owns any responsibility... We regret our decision of going to Hello Guppy ...

This is a good place to fulfil your Asian food hunger. Had amazing ramen noodles along with a cocktail. The portion was sufficient for 2 people. The restaurant is at a very good location and usually crowded. We also tried dumplings which we found good and ended up having twice.<br/>Overall rating 4/5.

Checkout my foodstagram🌭🌮🌯🍔🍕🍛🍝🍲📸@onehangryboi and @tallhungryboy<br/><br/>1. The Pork Belly - Slightly Charred. Adds a lot of flavour. There was sweetness to the belly because of the glaze. Skewers were brilliant and not cheap feeling. Pickled raddish amd carrot accompaniment was a great addition. All in all, dish was splendid.<br/>2. Scottish Salmon- Loved it. Great Sashimi. I would have the Aburi version(try it, you will not regret)<br/>3. Cashew Chicken- Sweet sauce. Cashew. Bell pepper. Sesame seeds. Cooked very well and has a chew to it(due to being fried chicken and then glazed)<br/>4. Chocolate fondant- Smooth. Not too sweet. Perfect. Goes very well with Ice cream.<br/><br/>I will definitely be back here. Thank you for hosting

If ramen is what your craving for then they have you sorted, if it comes to asian food its got to be prawns, salmon and pork and thats what we too recommend to try here, the restaurant is perfectly made in the Japanese setting. The ramen is authentically cooked and even the wasabi is right on point. <br/>We tried <br/>Wasabi Prawns<br/>Pork bao <br/>And pork miso ramen <br/>.<br/>Service is quick so wont keep you waiting for long to enjoy your meal, place gets full on Saturday nights so make reservations.

Had lunch at Hello Guppy yesterday. Ordered the pork belly for starters which was decent in taste and texture. This was followed by the prawn fried rice and their sea bass which was also decent. Overall the food was nothing out of the ordinary. Ambience and service was average. Due to the TGIF got a fifty percent discount and the meal after that was a 1000 bucks AI

The spicy salmon sushi is really great, the size of the sushi is perfect. Bigger than a few other places I’ve been to, but perfectly bite sized. The fisherman was delicious, perhaps the best G&T I’ve had in a while. The staff is super friendly and helpful, loved the ramen as well. The chocolate fondant was delicious and the cheesecake ice cream provided the perfect tartness to enhance the flavours. Had a great experience overall and have visited many times since.

just now<br/><br/>Didnt have a great experience..even after booking the table we were put on wait list.. the staff wasnt even able to find our reservation in the first place and plus their communication was very poor.. the music was soo loud that even if 2 ppl were sitting next to each other it was difficult to hear...on asking the staff to lower the volume they denied saying it is a saturday night..if it was a club i understand the music to be that loud but if it is a restaurant what is the point if 2 ppl cant speak while eating. If the customers arent comfortable thats the least they can do.. and the worst thing is your order takes forever and some of them are even forgotten..

Food was not upto the mark and tasteless, stale as well. They should have guided us about how is the ordered dish going to be. Service was pathetic. They didn't even change the plates and serve the food.

What I ordered -<br/>1. Pan Fried Wantons 2.5/5 ( okay, was a bit oily ) 2. AD Baba Chicken 4/5 ( Loved it )<br/>3. Rice Paper Rolls 4/5 ( Refreshing, amazing burst of flavour from the pickled radish )<br/>4. Chargrilled Sweet Potato Teriyaki 4/5 ( Loved it, though I felt the portion served was small )<br/>5. Grilled Chicken Breast 4/5 ( Amazing flavours )<br/>6. Garlic Fried Rice 4/5 ( It was lovely coz they used Sticky rice )<br/>7. Cheesecake 3/5 ( Decent, nothing amazing )<br/><br/>Overall I loved the food, the staff was courteous & even asked if anyone in our group were allergic to any foods which was really nice. I just feel the portion sizes were a bit small according to the pricing, other than that I absolutely enjoyed the food, service & the fun ambience. I'll definitely visit again.

A wonderful place situated in BKC to try out lovely Asian food. The ambiance is quite vibrant, the place being situated at the Ground floor of Godrej BKC is a great option for lunch for office goers over there! I had Shanghai Fried Noodles & the texture and the authentic flavour of Asian food was awesome!

The food is not that great. Every dish had something missing or was overpowered with a particular flavour. We tried 3 dishes and all had the similar issue. Not highly recommended

Hello Guppy - Noodle Bar<br/><br/>Hello Guppy is one of the most delightful places in Mumbai for any and all ramen-lovers. If the Japenese dish means anything to you, this restaurant could become your treasured haven. Hello Guppy is located in BKC and bathes in everything Japanese, right from the food to the ambiance. Anime lovers would love it for, well, obvious reasons. Everything from their walls to their upholstery is very quirky and can engage a keen pair of eyes for a long time.<br/><br/>Japanese restaurants in India are generally high-end, fine-dining places. Hello Guppy is different from those because it brings you the experience of relishing Japanese food in what could be rightfully called a ‘food joint’. The light hearted decor sends out a clear message, this is a fun place to kick back, unwind and not think to much about the food or worry where it's Japanese enough.<br/><br/>So what all did I have ?<br/><br/>° Soup<br/>- Tom yum soup<br/>- Garlic & vegetable wonton soup<br/><br/>° Appetizer<br/>- Salt pepper calamari<br/>- Hunan Prawns<br/>- AD baba chicken<br/><br/>° Rice & Noodles<br/>- Cantonese chow mein<br/>- XO fried rice.<br/><br/>Hello guppy aims to tap into the fun, easy going personality that life within each of us. The food is top notch yet approachable, The service is quick and the price point is neat

The best mushroom udon noodles! I keep coming back for these. Foolproof choice, I promise. Have tried a bunch of other things during my other visits but nothing stands out as much as the noodles.

Food: we ordered sushi with white rice which was fine. We got the pork ramen. The broth was ok, not very impactful. The noodles in it was fine. What I didn't like was the presence of broccoli in my ramen. Corn and broccoli don't go well in this kind of broth. Would not order this dish again. I have also tried their miso ramen the last time I had been there, and hadn't quite liked it. Also got some dumplings and gyoza, weren't great, the garnish on them looked old.<br/><br/>Service: On entering, i asked for a particular table, which was a table for 2 but since two table for 2s were side by side, it looked like a table for four. I was told that won't be possible because we are a party of 2. BUT, a while later, a white couple entered and asked them for that table, and voila, that table of four suddenly could be made into table for 2 for them. This was just..sad.<br/><br/>In short, there are better places out there for ramen, sushi, and dumplings. The vibe, food, and service aren't great here to be paying $$ plus $ for extra service charge.

A really good place for Asian food. I tried their California roll and pork belly skewers which were amazing . They are a must try here.

One of the best places to enjoy casual Japanese food...Love their wonton soup and their sushi’s...The overall menu selection is good

Amazing casual dining place. I enjoyed dining there. The ambience is lovely, colourful interiors and friendly staff. The sushi is excellent and is a must order, both vegetarian and non vegetarian. The place is also reasonably priced and they have a very large menu with ample choice for everyone.<br/>Will definitely go back!

Here's where Hello Guppy just won us over. <br/>Fantastic food and reasonable prices. <br/><br/>The decor is funky and gives this place a brilliant vibe.<br/><br/>We tried a variety of mocktails, fizz based drinks and shakes. Have to say not one disappointed us.<br/><br/>The overall meal left us with a smile on our face and a bulge on our belly. Guppy originates from Delhi and Hello Guppy at BKC happens to be their first outlet in Mumbai.<br/><br/>We love Japanese food and always regret the dearth of good Japanese dining options in Mumbai. The few that are available are prices quite steeply.<br/><br/>Here's where Hello Guppy just won us over. Fantastic food and reasonable prices. We walk in on Saturday ar 130PM; the place was empty (1 table occupied).<br/>We ask for lunch set menu to be told, it's only available Monday through Friday. Fair enough we thought as it was mentioned on the menu.<br/>We browse the menu and order one item. We are informed about its unavailability and advised of an alternate but more expensive dish.<br/>We then notice the option of dishes that can be combined with a soup / dessert for a little something extra. Interests us. But we are told the same can not be ordered as we are choosing to pay through HDFC card that offers a 15% discount.<br/>Enough said, we walk out not bcos of the few hundred extra we would have had to pay, but fir the several No's we Heard.<br/>Cheers and all the best to them.<br/><br/>PS: we did call the manager, who surely did not belong to the Service industry.

This place is quite a good option if you are near BKC. They serve Japanese cuisine. It's my go-to place for sushi. Ambience was too awesome.<br/><br/>Absolutely love the California roll - packed with crab meat. The ramen bowl is the perfect comfort food- packed with flavor! <br/><br/>I ordered salmon sushi, really delicious along mushroom wantons and udon veg noodles. Everything was up to the mark, especially I loved the flavour of the udon noodles. It’s a must try.<br/><br/>The service is super fast and so is the friendly staff service. Their food and ambience is something that makes you want to come again and relax. Plus I got 15% off on my QUICKPERKS dining discount card. !!! Overall loved it, go for it!

Visited this place since I wanted to have Ramen from a very long time. Ordered the port ramen and wasn't disappointed by it.<br/>The broth was thick and fatty and contained very good pork essence. The noodles were firm and tasted good with the broth. The chashu pork itself was very fatty, tender and extremely tasty. The soft boiled was also there and it was a perfect addition to the bowl of ramen. The ramen bowl also had seaweed.<br/>A good experience but I would say it's a bit expensive.
Indian Food Tales
Located in BKC amongst the business parks, Hello guppy defines itself as a noodle bar. It has the dim lit vibe of a bar coupled with some funky wall art.<br/>We started our course with a virgin mojito & a aviation. Aviation is a gin based cocktail with a fruity punch of berries served with a spherical ice cube. We'd definately recommed this one. But the the same can't be said about the mojito.<br/>In the soup section of the pan asian menu we would recommed that one sticks to the basics ie Manchow soup.<br/>Among the appetizers we would recommend the Hunan prawn for all the seafood lovers. For the AD Baba chicken is our pick for the chicken lovers. Which is typical sweet & spicy soy based Indian-chinese dish. For all those who despise sweetness in their appetizers we would suggest chicken salt & pepper calamari.<br/>Their main course game is strong with the Pan Asian menu. We would strongly recommend Sichuan braised lamb, which is a spicy aisan curry with fresh leafy veggies served with baos on the side. Also there's the XO fired rice, a very basic but well done prawn based fried rice.<br/>Do not leave the premises without having the chocolate fondant. The gooey choclate centre & the ice cream makes for a great dessert. On the other hand, we would definitely not recommed the teriyaki Sundae as it did feel a bit out of place. The slightly salty pancakes neither complimented nor blended in with the tangy ice creams scoops.<br/>Ambience 3/5<br/>Food 3.5/5<br/>Value for money 3/5<br/>Overall 3/5

Since it's launch in 2017, Hello Guppy has always enticed crowds with its quirky 'kawaii' decor (Pikachu hanging off a swing, anyone) and pocket-friendly yet innovative Asian options. Considering the above aspects tick all the right boxes in my ramen-loving soul, I've always ended up going to Guppy for a bowl of thick udon noodles, or my favourite pork baos. They recently launched a Schezwan And Friends Festival which introduced a whole new range of Pan Asian dishes to their existing menu. Out of these, I wholly enjoyed the Pan-Fried Wontons, the AD Baba Chicken, the Shanghai Fried Noodles, and the Sichuan Braised Lamb. Unfortunately, their Salt Pepper Calamari (which I was really looking forward to having) wasn't available but, their gracious service more than made up for it's absence. I finished the meal with a Taiyaki Sundae (aka the Instagram famous Fish-shaped waffle) which was served warm with a slightly too sweet Raspberry sorbet but was as close to the real deal as possible. It's always a fun time when ever I've visited Hello Guppy and I can't wait to go back for more.

cool drinks, decent food, Amazing desserts and courteous staff.Tried the new menu which had Sichuan based dishes. Tom yum soup : really nice start to the meal, the flavour really comes out Pan fried Wonton: very okayish in taste, nothing out of the ordinarySichuan braised lamb: very nice gravy served with bao, made good use of the sichuanShanghai Fried noodles : could've been a bit more tasteful, tasted a little bland very little use of sichuan made considering all the dishes on sichuan menu should have atleast some of it.Rum popcorn coffee cake: desserts have always been good here, can be visited just for them alsoThis experimental menu didnt really work that much for us, but we have been here in the past and they have some really amazing regular dishes that you probably wont get anywhere else better than here. so the place is still recommended to people, just not for this new menu.

Its located just at the beginning of the new bkc-eeh connector. The decor is bright and colourful. The staff is courteous. They seem well versed with the menu. After placing your order the staff will actually try to explain what you should expect when it arrives and how likely are you to like it. If you are polite enough they might also teach you how to use the chop stick. It was a delightful experience. Almost authentic flavours. Great ambiance. Pretty convinient from the eastern express Highway. Going back to catch a train from Kurla might require you to walk a little bit for the shared service.<br/>Good food<br/>Great people

Always known for its Japanese meal, Hello Guppy has left us by surprise with the introduction of its new Chinese and Asian menu. <br/>Delicious, unique and takes you back to the delectable old school Chinese food in town. <br/><br/>Here’s what we tried and we still can’t stop dreaming about it. <br/><br/>1. Tom Yum Soup - For all Soup lovers this was extremely tasty and was dominated with a strong essence of lime. <br/><br/>2. Manchow Soup - The most Classic Soup and without any doubt it was yummy and just perfect for the taste buds <br/><br/>3. Pan fried wantons - The most unique dish of the night. Mixed vegetables tossed in various sauces and pan fried. The presentation was just on point <br/><br/>4. Cantonese Chow Mein - the highlight dish. A perfect mix and blend of seasonal veggies, noodles in a soups gravy. It wasn’t spicy at all, so for those who prefer their food to be bland should opt for this. <br/><br/>5. Macha Fondent - This isn’t a part of the Chinese menu. However one cannot miss this amazing dessert. Served with cheesecake ice cream, chocolate crumble and macha soufflé with a gooey matcha centre this will take you to a complete heaven ? A must try dessert. Also their deserts are quite freshly baked which makes them even more tasty and refreshing <br/><br/>Chief Foodie Officer - Would definately revisit this place for the new menu. <br/>However, if you are looking for a variety in menu with a lot of Chinese dishes, that’s difficult. It’s a limited menu, but surely unique. <br/><br/>Great vibe, tasty food, refreshing drinks .... what else would you need for a great dining experience ?

A few friends recommended this amazing place which serves authentic Japanese and Asian food .The place is beautiful from inside and the management is quite courteous and also the food isgreat .<br/><br/>What I had there ?<br/><br/>1 - Fisherman's Tonic - An amalgamation ofgin with elderflower , cucumber lime leave topped with Gin is a perfect way to enjoy your weekend . I call it as my weekend drink !<br/><br/>2- Onion Ring - If you are going with Fisherman's Tonic then this is the perfect thing to go on. Onion rings deep fried served with some garlic aioli .<br/><br/>3 - Fried Chicken curry rice - The presentation of this dish was really good. They almost made it look like a panda. This had fried chicken with some gravy , sticky rice and potato wedges .<br/><br/>4-Chocolate fondant - This was the best dessert that I had so far. It had this delicious goey chocolate which burst into lava and is served with a combination of cheesecake and almond crumble ice-cream .<br/><br/>Another amazing restaurant ticked off the food journey .

Hello Guppy, the all-day Japanese car and cafe at BKC, has always been a favorite ever since it's launched!<br/><br/>Located in #BKC, this place is a one.of it's kind #Japanese Cafe style restaurant in the City!<br/><br/>They have managed to be the pioneers to change the perception that "Japanese Food = High End"....cos it's not! It can be casual and delicious too!! Just like the food at Hello Guppy!<br/><br/>Quirky interiors here scream.of the cafes in #Japan and this place will be quick to transport you there!<br/><br/>The must try things here is their brilliant varieties of Ramen, the #Sushi and the #Baos!<br/><br/>Apart from their regular menu, Hello Guppy also does some amazing Food Festivals from time to time! They just launched a Schezwan & Friends Food festival bringing to life, the magic of comfort Chinese Food. <br/><br/>They have some delicious Stuff to offer and my favorites were the Tiger Grilled Prawns, the Succulent Lamb, the Veggie Wantons and their brilliant noodles!<br/><br/>Absolutely lovely food which you can pair with the loveliest cocktails.... Hello Guppy is the perfect place for a meal out with your colleagues....a good time post work...or just a fab meal with your family!

Hello Guppy<br/><br/>I have been to this place first time. As I have heard very good reviews about this place. The ambience of this place is a mixture of Japanese murals and lighting that has an oriental vibe. The whole place is done up with bright colors that come together beautifully and catches attention as one eats their meal.<br/><br/>Service wise the staff was very warm and welcoming. The service is pretty quick and the attendants are well versed with the menu.<br/><br/>Now, when I visited the place for the tasting of their newly launched Chinese/ Asian menu I had different experience in terms of food. Started off with some of cocktails Guppy Sake and Fisherman’s Tonic.<br/><br/>What I tried:<br/><br/>Tom Yum Soup: Asked for Chicken Manchow Soup but that was not available so have to order this. Nice flavors. Taste wise it was good but very watery. Can’t finish the full bowl.<br/><br/>Salt Pepper Calamari: Hot and crisp calamari pair perfectly with beer or sake. Decent portion size. Go for it.<br/><br/>AD Baba Chicken: It was more on sweeter side. Missing the punch in this dish.<br/><br/>Hunan Prawns: Again the same thing. Here Prawns was not cooked properly and also it was sweet. Please get the basics right Chef.<br/><br/>We had two desserts which was from their original menu. Both the desserts were Wow.<br/><br/>Overall, they have to look after their new menu properly. They have the potential and the pricing could be looked into.<br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/><br/>Ambience: 4/5<br/><br/>Service: 5/5<br/><br/>Value for Money: 4/5<br/><br/>P.S: The review is strictly depending on my personal experience

Their new Chinese menu was insaneee! Here’s what I tried...<br/><br/><br/>Salt And Pepper Calamari: the calamari was well-cooked and the spicy mayo that went with it was sooo good!<br/><br/>AD Baba Chicken: This dish was a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The chicken was crispy and saucy at the same time. Yum!<br/><br/>Hunan Prawns: I’d Loke to take this opportunity to say that the mean produce at Hello Guppy is unbelievable. The prawns were so fresh!<br/><br/>Shanghai Fried Noodles: I’ve spent months together in Shanghai and I can’t tell you how well they’ve nailed these noodles. Completely took me back to my time in China! <br/><br/>Sichuan Braised Lamb: The lamb was cooked to perfection and the stew was soooo succulent. I’d walk back to BKC for this stew. I don’t kid. <br/><br/>For dessert...<br/><br/>The Taiyaki Sundae<br/><br/>It was an eggless Japanese pancake shaped like a fish. With a ridiculously great pairing of chocolate and raspberry sorbet. Amaze! <br/><br/>Cocktails:<br/><br/>PSA: All the cocktails are super strong, just the way one would want them!<br/><br/>Mount Fuji: A beautiful blend of Vodka, Peach Schnapps and apples<br/><br/>For Guppy Sake: A super sweet one, but beware, it’s lethal AF! <br/><br/>Fisherman’s Tonic: Gin, Elderflower and cucumber! 👌

So I visited this place for the first time. <br/><br/>Setup was kinda casual and the ambiance was kinda different with Vibrant colours added to the overall ambiance. Looked more like a cafe. <br/><br/>The food was also good we had one non veg and veg starter but the quantity was really less compared to what we were paying. Specially the non veg dish. We ordered the Cashew Chicken and we got 6 pieces so to speak really disappointed specially this was on the Newly introduced Bar Snack menu which did live up to the mark. The veg dish was Cottage Cheese wonton strings which was really nice in taste. <br/><br/>For drinks we ordered the Fisherman's Tonic and Aviation cocktail. I personally dint really like both cause for some reason there was and after bitter taste left in the palette. Specially the Fisherman's Tonic it was kinda bitter. <br/><br/>The music was great and the service was okay. Overall experience was good. Just one complain please increase the quantity or price it accordingly and don't over price it.

One of my favorite places for Asian food. Absolutely love the California roll - packed with crab meat. The ramen bowl is the perfect comfort food- packed with flavor! Last but not the least, Dessert- the best one yet - The Old Monk chocolate pastry!

Hello Guppy is a very chic and funky place. You will see a lot of young crowd here. The vibe here is very cheerful. Nicely lit ambiance decorated with lots of roof lamps. <br/><br/>I totally loved the food here. I ordered salmon sushi, really delicious along mushroom wantons and udon veg noodles. Everything was up to the mark, especially I loved the flavour of the udon noodles. It’s a must try. However, I found sushi a little bit for five as 8 pieces were Rs. 850 but it was salmon so maybe that’s why. <br/><br/>Also, tried the raspberry beer from their must recommend menu. I don’t totally loved it. A must try. Mushroom wantons was a unique appetiser and a must try for veg food lovers. The best part about my visit here was the free old monk cake, which was so scrumptious. It’s a great place chill with friends after office or on the weekends. Price for 2 would be around 3000 stars including a drink or two. Over all experience was superb.

If you're at BKC without a prior booking on a Friday night, odds are that most of the places will be brimming with people enjoying the start of the weekend. As for our unplanned evenings, we arrived at Hello Guppy simply looking at the table availability. Little did we know that dinner at the comparatively less crowded restaurant with a retro "Noodle Bar" lighting at its door would be such a great experience!<br/><br/>As we entered around 8:30pm, we were informed of 1+1 Happy hours deals which was on till 9pm. The happy hour menu seemed limited but then again, it was good enough. Cocktails & the non-alcoholic drinks were pretty good.<br/><br/>Among starters, we had<br/>(i) Sweet & Sour Fried Chicken - Pretty good!<br/>(ii) Veg. Spring Rolls - Definitely tasty, but portion size consisted of only 4 pieces.<br/>(iii) Fried Onion Rings - a classic appetizer - can't go wrong with it.<br/><br/>From the main course, we had :<br/>(i) Exotic Mushroom Udon Noodles - Quantity good enough for one. Tastes decent, nothing that great.<br/>(ii) Tofu & Vegetable Curry Rice - Really good presentation. It's like a rice bowl, and although the flavor felt slightly overpowering, the taste was really good.<br/>(iii) Pork Ramen in Miso Pork Broth - Tastes great. The subtle, smoky flavor of the pork really made the dish worth tasting.<br/>(iv) Grilled Market Fish - Definitely tasty, although it's basic grilled fish tossed in a light soya-based sauce.<br/><br/>The place had great food, excellent service and amazing music. The ambiance is loud, casual and family friendly. Portion sizes could be a topic to look into. Overall, I'd love to visit this place again.<br/>Cost for two : Rs 1500.

Colorful interiors, tasty and mouth watering noodles...service is a bit slow and lethargic and service still very unskilled but overall a good experience

Had their brunch menu and was good. Not a fan of raw meat really but over-all the brunch was good. The place is pretty looking and prefer to try beyond the brunch

The place is too expensive but who cares when the food is so great. The only place in mumbai where I only prefer having the veg food.<br/><br/>Must Haves:<br/><br/>1) Avocado and Cucumber roll<br/>2) Char grilled sweet potatoes<br/>3) Tofu & Vegetable curry rice<br/><br/>Cocktails to die for:<br/>1) Fisherman's Tonic<br/>2) Aviation (if you want that extra oomph)<br/><br/>Great place, great staff.

I went to this place specifically for the ramen noodles. We tried both chicken and pork ramen noodles. Loved the chicken ramen. Pork ramen I expected a bit more though. Sushis we awesome with freshly made wasabi. Ambience was too awesome. 4/5 for all in experience. Looking forward to visit again.

We visited this place last week for lunch on a weekday. Needless to say the ambience is really good, the interiors of the place is possibly inspired from Harajuku Fashion. It was not crowded at all, so don't bother for booking a table on Zomato.<br/><br/>We ordered a Miso Ramen, either I have yet to acquire a taste for Miso, or either they don't do it well. Though the noodles very chewy (not undercooked) and the toppings were nice. I just didn't like the broth. Apart from Ramen, we had Asparagus Tempura Sushi and it was superbly delicious. If I visit this place again, I would definitely order it again, but the wasabi didn't have enough kick in it, I could easily put a tiny bit in my mouth without my insides going crazy. The grilled sweet potato appetizer seemed more like a dessert, maybe they could add some chilli for spice to balance the sweetness from the potato and the sauce. Lastly, we had Slow Cooked Bao(chicken) and it was nice.<br/><br/>Apart from the Sushi, no other dish wowed me. And for its location, I might not try this place again, hence the 3 star rating instead of 4. The staff were polite and attentive.<br/><br/>Overall experience was good, its always nice to try new places.

Well recommended for the sushi lovers and the one looking for some interesting decor. We tried their 'Prawn Tempura' 'Crabmeat' and 'Salmon' sushis and prawn tempura was the winner(ended up repeating this one). Also, do try their 'Old monk cheesecake' it's surely gonna get you high;)

So i visited this small and cozy Japanese restaurant close to my work called @helloguppy . When you enter this place you get that vibe of being in Japanese cartoons. Its a very colourful and vibrant place. Having said that, the food here is just amazing. Their sushi is worth trying.<br/><br/>For starters we had Salmon Tartare which is off the menu. This dish was the highlight of the whole dinner. Fresh and soft salmon mixed with nice creamy tartar sauce, layered with refreshing avacado puree and served with pickled cucumber.<br/><br/>For main course we had Chicken Ramen Noodle which reminded me of those shinchan cartoons. The ramen had this hearty chicken broth topped with soft boiled eggs, sweet corn kernels, bean sprouts, chicken, sea weeds and pak choi.<br/>And for dessert we had Chocolate Fondant which had hot chocolate cake with gooey chocolate centre along side cheesecake icecream.<br/><br/>@helloguppy has amazing cocktails as well.<br/><br/>#foodblogger #Japanesefood #sushilove #foodporn #helloguppy

A nice place with great ambience located in BKC that serves Japanese food. Food is good whatsoever, just the quantity served is way yoo less even for one person.

Really was expecting so much more from the Bombay outlet as the one in Delhi is not only beautifully made but the food is far better.<br/><br/>They've tried to give it a Japanese comic girl kinda look with great lights and neon signs. Sushi was really disappointing, tempura shrimp, tuna and spicy Salmon all fell flat with the rice being really dry. Ramen was passable but the only saving grace was pork bao. Great dish and we had two portions of it!<br/><br/>Hope they can up their game with the sushi and make some more interesting sushi dishes.

Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Table reservations were unavailable via Zomato all through the night, and HG said they don't take reservations over the phone, but that they'd seat us if a table were to be available when we arrive. <br/><br/>They're participating in the logout protest by the restaurant association, and are no longer accepting gold. Too bad I was told that after I'd already unlocked gold. I believe Zomato is looking into reverting that unlock. <br/><br/>The place itself has a nice vibe to it, is fairly casual. Decor is heavy on pokemon and superheroes, neon tubed lights to boot. Music was a mix of everything, could be curated better. <br/><br/>The servers were quick and responsive. Food was sent out at a good pace too. <br/><br/>The cocktails had some interesting mixes, turned out alright. Quite a few options for sake. We enjoyed the jyosen namazake sawanotsuru. <br/><br/>About the sushi - neither the Aburi salmon roll nor the Battera sushi from the menu were available the night we visited. We went with the regular options, a prawns tempura (definitely recommend) and the spicy salmon roll (good, not great). The chilli lime tofu was nicely flavoured. <br/><br/>We were, however, wrongly billed 840 for the Aburi roll that they didn't have. Again, too bad I only noticed it on the bill after we had already paid. So there flew 1000 out the wallet for nothing.<br/><br/>For the mains, we ordered teppenyaki vegetables (recommend) with sticky rice, curry udon chicken (decent, but high on the salt), chashu ramen miso (nice, but not enough to order a second time). <br/><br/>All in all, a lot of ambiguity and oops sorry moments. The oversight with the bill was quite irksome; when a place can levy service charge by default, it isn't too much to ask for the bill to be accurate. But I should've checked sooner. <br/><br/>I would really only go back to try more of the sushi, but by this time there are plenty of other places for that.

Hello Guppy, a place meant probably for the best Japanese food. From dimsums to classic sushis to some kickass ramen bowls, they have it all. Located on the ground floor on the Godrej building, this place is easy to find. Next up, the setup and the ambiance has that typical Japanese feel to it. Right from the bar to the wall hangings. <br/><br/>The best day to visit, are the Thursdays where they have karaoke nights. I visited on the same day and had a great time.<br/><br/>This place is a heaven for Ramen lovers. Started off with a portion of "Pork Ramen with Miso Pork Broth". Called for a half and half portion of it and was very delicious.<br/><br/>The boiled egg and the corn made is so damn appetizing. <br/><br/>"Sweet and Sour Fried Chicken", this being one of their signature appetizers. This goes and went along with my drink. The chicken chunks were decent in size and taste better when had with the hot sauce served on the table. Also can be had with the tarter sauce. <br/><br/>I so loved the "Prawns Gyoza" and the "Slow Cooked Pork Bao". Both were precisely made and well presented. Its a delight on tastebuds when had with particular sauces served along. Nicely executed.<br/><br/>When it comes to sushi, "Prawns Tempura Roll" has always been my favorite. Gladly ordered for a portion for it and it did live up to the expectations. A touch of wasabi and a dip in soy sauce and you are good to go. Also, it's their in-house special and recommended for sure.<br/><br/>Ended the meal with "Taiyaki Sundae" which is basically an eggless Japanese pancake. Fish-shaped waffles served with chocolate and raspberry sorbet. Loved it to the core.<br/><br/>Coming to the drinks, they had some amazing happy hour options and took good advantage of it. Called for "Bittersweet Symphony" and "Fisherman's Tonic". Both the cocktails were good with the right amount of liquor. Well blended as well.<br/><br/>Its great place overall and pricing is also decent, it's not that high for the quality of the food served here. The best part was the Karaoke night. Even the service was outstanding. A good place to enjoy good Japanese food.

This is pocket friendly place in the heart of BKC, we tried the vegetarian food like - ramen 🍜, tofu mushroom gravy with sticky rice 🍚 and obviously the sushi 🍥.<br/>The service is super fast and so is the friendly staff service. Overall loved it, go for it!

Location: 9.5/10 <br/>Service: 9.5/10 <br/>Theme: 9.5/10 <br/>Ambience: 9.5/10 <br/>Food: 9.5/10 <br/>Value for Money: 10/10 <br/> <br/>Located on the ground floor of Godrej Building in Bandra Kurla Complex; Hello Guppy is a Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian options of Japanese and Asian food. They also have JAIN food options available with a separate JAIN menu. The place provides valet parking and and home delivery too.  <br/><br/>We visited this place during a Monday lunch. Not only it looks inviting from outside but also the warm and cozy décor and ambience gives you a positive vice. They have decorated the place in the Modern Japanese way with artifacts and frames on the walls, to the different hanging lights with either a popcorn cover on it or even a Pickachu Pokemon popping out from one of these in the centre. They have also done a great artwork in the centre of the ceiling as well as behind the seating areas. Not only this but even the bathrooms are covered with graffities. We took a corner table where the table itself was a ping pong table covered with lights and glass making it a different meal experience altogether.  <br/><br/> <br/>Below is what we tried: <br/><br/> <br/>*SMALL PLATES:* <br/># Chargrilled Sweet Potato Teriyaki – Some amazing appetizer to start with; this one had grilled sweet potatoes topped with sesame teriyaki sauce. Totally delicious.  <br/> <br/># Crispy Vegetables Spring Rolls – These were oven baked filo spring rolls filled with exotic vegetables and served with lines of tart miso sauce on the side.  <br/> <br/> <br/>*DUMPLING:* <br/># Edamame & Corn Dumpling – Another dish with amazing presentation as well as taste; creamed edamame and buttered corn filled in the dumpling and served in a soup spoon with truffle chilli citrus soya sauce drizzled on it.  <br/> <br/>*SUSHI:* <br/># Avocado Cucumber & Cream Cheese Roll – Sushi rolls with cream cheese, cucumber pieces and avocado, topped with sesame seeds and served with baby ginger and wasabi.  <br/><br/>#Asparagus Tempura Rolls – Spicy mayo and crispy batter fried asparagus rolled in the rice sushi and served with baby ginger and wasabi.  <br/><br/> <br/>*NOODLES:* <br/># Hokkaido Raiyu Miso Ramen – Udon noodles Served in spicy miso stock, topped with sweet corn, seaweed and sprouts. This is a meal in itself and very popular in Japan. Loved the taste and presentation too.  <br/><br/> <br/>*DRINKS:* <br/># Elderflower Forest Presse – a drink with 3 layers of colours as it is seen. This one had blueberries, passion fruit and elderflower. We asked them to make it without soda (fizz) and it tasted really great. Don’t miss this out.  <br/> <br/># Call Me Honey – a fruit smoothie made with raspberry, orange and honey; presented in one of the fancy ceramic glass. We not only loved the presentation but the taste was amazing too. Def try this.  <br/><br/> <br/>*DESSERT:* <br/># Taiyaki Sunday Eggless Japanese Pancake Dessert – When it comes to desserts who can say no. This was suggested to us by our table caretaker which had Fish shaped eggless waffles with chocolate sorbet and raspberry sherbet. I am sure you will love the flavour of it.  <br/><br/> <br/>Overall, we had a great time at Hello Guppy. From their hospitality to the food, everything was really nice. I must say that they do some amazing job in the cooking. We would like to specially thank our table caretaker Poumei who gave great suggestion and service as well as to the manager. We are gonna visit soon again to try the other variants. Hello guppy is a hello hippy place! Love it for it’s eclectic decor and colourful plates and cutlery. I loved their range of ramen and suimai. The drinks though are a bit on the sweeter side and less on the alcohol bit. Haven’t tasted a whole lot but whatever I did was tasty 😋

It's one of the best sushis & sashimi in town. Love the food here and even the quirky Japanese decor. A must visit for sushi lovers. I can eat here like a pig... The pork ramen is to die for. I have tried the California roll, prawn tempura, salmon with creme cheese, the tuna sashimi, the smoked salmon sashimi, the seasalt edemame, the sweet potatoes teriyaki, the pork Pao , the veg spring roll ... Everything on the menu is to die for..the dessert can take a miss but you won't regret it. We were 6 people , ordered 22 dishes ... Got out guppu from hello guppy!!!

The place has good asian food. Different varieties of Baos are available here. We tried the sake and liked it. The sakes are served either hot or cold. Go for the hot one, we found them better than the cold ones. <br/><br/>When we went there, the place was kinda full and they asked us to come back in 40 mins. But the manager was really sweet and he re-arranged a few tables for us so that we didn’t have to wait for so long. <br/><br/>If you’re an asian food lover, you can definitely visit this place.

This is my second visit to Hello Guppy after a almost a year and half, at first sight I was a little disappointed as the ambiance didn't seem as vibrant as it was before with its Pink neon lighting and interesting props lying around. Anyway it was still quite nice, even the Karaoke event was pleasant.<br/><br/>Coming to the food, we began with a round of their recommended dishes, their Signature Pork Belly, Sweet and Sour Fried Chicken, Chicken Wings and Slow Cooked Pork Belly Bao. <br/>The Fried Chicken was delicious, the tartar sauce does give it a nice tangy kick, chicken wings here are slight different, they have strong smoky flavor, a dash of lime goes well with it. <br/>However, the pork was a clear winner here, they do a phenomenal job in cooking it, you have to try it out. Its crisp yet melts away as you take a bite. Strongly Recommended! <br/><br/>Next we tried out some Sushi, we went for the Spicy Tuna Roll, Battera Sushi with Salmon and Aburi Salmon Nigiri. Overall I found the Sushi here quite simple as compared to other places. It doesn't have the fancy garnishing and seasoning other places offer, which in a way is nice but I feel the quality of fish could have been better. However, the Salmon Nigiri was far superior than the other two rolls. You should try out their Nigiri and maybe skip the rest. <br/><br/>For mains we had to go for at least one Noodle dish, so we picked the Udon Chicken Curry Noodles, which is a very photogenic dish, served with Minced Chicken and a Sunny Side fried egg. Along with that we went for their Grilled Sea-bass. The noodles were a clear winner here, they were cooked perfectly and the spicy minced chicken elevated the flavors even further. Sea bass was good but overall I found the seafood quality quite average. <br/><br/>Completely stuffed from our heavy main course, we went for desserts, Chocolate Fondant and PBJ. Difficult to take a pick between the two as both dishes were excellent. A good end to out evening.<br/><br/>Lastly a quick shout out to their cocktails which were excellent and in a rare case we loved all four that we tried out. Nippon Cooler, Pineapple Refresher, Fisherman's Tonic and Bittersweet Symphony. Each better than the other. The Nippon Cooler and Pineapple refresher were Sake based and quite potent, the flavors were totally on point. The Bittersweet Symphony however stole my heart, the most perfect Whiskey cocktail that I have tried out. Cant wait to try it out again. Do try out their Signature cocktails, they are totally worth it.<br/><br/>Overall, Hello Guppy does an excellent job with their Pork, Chicken and Cocktails. You could skip the seafood. Definitely worth trying out, Cheers!

Hello Guppy - The Noodle Bar, Casual Fun Dining place, Serves Japanese/Sushi/Pan Asian and some Lovely Cocktails. Must Try their Ramen and Udon. Has a good Vibe - Situated at BKC. Here is what we had yesterday:<br/><br/>Japanese vegetable Roll (Sushi) this is made in Black Rice. Had a good texture, tasted good. Basically Pickle with asparagus carrot and Radish. Served with Khimchi Dressing. (One can choose White rice as well)<br/><br/>Asparagus with Tempura Roll (Sushi) Signature dish, crunchy with a dash of spicy mayo and crispy batter fried asparagus. Try out.<br/><br/>California Roll (Sushi- Non veg) A fir Fishy. This is with the Crab along with Cucumber (we asked for black rice) a bit of avocado and flying fish eggs. Could have been more compressed.<br/><br/>Edamame Corn Dumplings - this was a cute beauty. Lovely texture. Good shine. Creamed Edamame with buttered corn (Nicely done) with a bit of truffle (enhancing the flavour) served with Chilli Citrus soy sauce. Do try.<br/><br/>Chilli-Lime Dressed tofus (Silken) melt in mouth. Had the punch. Cute presentation. A bit crispy from the outside with spicy chilli-Lime dressing. Nicely flavoured with a good balance. Go for it.<br/><br/>Crispy vegetable Sprig rolls - something different. Flat instead of the normal. These are Oven baked with a lovely texture. Filo Basically stuffed with exotic diced vegetables. This is served with tart Miso sauce. Do try. Crunchy and gooey from inside.<br/><br/>Mains - it was an all veg affair.<br/><br/>Opted for the amazing TOFU & Exotic Vegetable Curry (velvety texture) Balanced well. Meal by itself. Served with rice. Mushrooms and fried tofu enhanced the dish. Loved the spices. Overall a great dish. This is Japanese food all about.<br/><br/>Udon Noodles - Signature. Loved the balance. Nothing Over. It's basically Flat wheat noodles (Flour) tossed with vegetables and mushrooms with black pepper sauce. One can opt for Chicken/Prawn or extra mushroom as well. Made well. Just perfect.<br/><br/>Cocktails - For Guppy Sake (Vanilla Vodka with Sake) this is shaken drink with muddled lemon galangal and lemongrass.<br/><br/>Fisherman's tonic - Its all Gin and Elderflower (freshness) with cucumber/lime with tonic and ice.<br/><br/>Pineapple cooler and Nippon cooler were the other 2 cocktails which we tried.<br/><br/>DESSERT - THE OLD MONK CAKR - can come in anytime for this. Richness all the way. Layered with rich chocolate and soaked with old monk with coffee mousse. This had almond brittle and Caramel Popcorn. Popcorn gave a twist with the Crunchiness Loved it.<br/><br/>Overall - My experience has always been good at Hello guppy. It's the consistency. Keep it up. Cheers.

The service was excellent, very friendly staffs.<br/>The place was neat and you can bring all your friends and even family here.<br/>There was Pokemon on the TV so that brought back childhood memories.<br/>I did not get to try the food here, but this is a great place to have drinks.<br/>I would suggest this place .

Nice place serving good vegetarian dishes as well. Jains can also visit this as they have a special jain menu, which is extremely rare for an oriental/Japanese restaurant.

Best ramen I've had till date in Bombay.<br/>The sake was perfect ✌🏼<br/>Can't wait to go for another bowl soon.<br/>The waiting can be quite a bit of you go on a Friday night, I'd suggest getting there early.
The Craving Triad
An authentic Japanese food place where you can of justice to your love for Sushi and some amazing baos, dimsums and Japanese mai course.<br/>The dessert - Old Monk Cake was the highlight ✨

Was here for dinner on Saturday eve n let me tell u its a fun place to be with interesting food n good foot tapping music which is played not that loud, enough for one to make conversation.. Only hitch is the pricing of this place as I found it to be on very expensive side specially for the place.. However it does not mean that place is not good.. It's a decent 50/60 seater place having normal chair n couches seatings at most part.. Few tall chair seatings around entrance n ones at bar with tables attached to it are quite comfortable n looks good n is quite innovative too.. Bar looks very attractive specially with glowing fluorescent plastic bath rings hanging up there.. Decor of this place is also good n is designed keeping japanese culture in mind n neon lighting just makes it look very attractive n different..People loving to click pics will love photo op that's at almost every corner of this place including washroom too .. This place offers range of delicious, easy to eat, Japanese food.. There are varieties of soups, noodles sushi, salads, small plates n dessert on offering out here .. They also have a separate Jain menu which is interesting as I don't see many Jain people eating Jain food at a combo place .. However we tried few dishes out here...<br/><br/>Char grilled sweet potato teriyaki - These grilled sweet potato fries have a little kick n are perfectly tender in the middle n bit crisp on the outside.. The teriyaki sauce was marinated nicely n gave lovely flavor to this one<br/><br/>Mushroom n cheese bao - These baos were yummy.. Bao were steamed well n were stuffed with creamy caramelised mushrooms n cheese.. Only hitch was its eating experience.. It was too much stuffed making it tough to eat without getting dropped<br/><br/>Mushroom taki komi rice - This staple Japanese rice dish are made of short-grain rice are cooked with vegetables.. It's seasoned with dashi n soy sauce n mushroom adds more flavor to this already flavoured dish.. Light n good one<br/><br/>Old monk cake - It was booziest chocolate cake I have ever had.. This one is made of rich chocolate n coffee mousse n had old monk rum infused in it along with almond brittle n was topped with caramel popcorn.. It had lovely silky texture n tasted absolutely delicious<br/><br/>Food presentation is simple yet attractive.. Service was very good.. Right from greeting us when we entered till the time we left we were taken care of really well.. Stafff patiently explained about the food n helped us in placing order.. They were very courteous n well behaved.. As said pricing I just felt was on high side specially Becoz its a small place n it does not meet the comfort which one needs while spending big, otherwise its perfect in all the other ways.. It's almost 3k per couple place with few drinks.. Obviously offers like that of Zomato gold or Dineout would land up making u pay less .. Anyway if u don't mind spending much then this is good place to try specially one looking for authentic Japanese food<br/><br/>My recommendations - char grilled sweet potato teriyaki, mushroom taki komi rice, old monk cake<br/><br/>Food - 4.5/5<br/>Ambiance - 4/5<br/>Service - 5/5<br/>Value for money - 3.5/5<br/>

The only thing I recommend is Diet Coke and Bottled water. we ordered wine -it was aerated and acidic. We ordered food -it was blah blah bland.<br/>God bless.

Guppy is one of my favourite spots in Mumbai. Last month i visited Guppy 4 times, only to realise that the experience keeps getting only better. From the prawn crackers, to chilli edamame, to the bacon wrapped chicken-sausage, to the Udon Noodles, to the prawn tempura sushi and finally the chicken ramen, i’ve tried almost the entire menu and can gladly say that it successfully quenches all my asian cravings.

Surprisingly good food and really welcoming staff. I am not much of a fan of Asian food but this place made me change my mind! Reasonable on the pocket for food and drinks, their cocktails are my favourite here!

Old monk cake!!<br/><br/>For all those who love old monk & can't resist desserts. This place offers fanciest dessert in the town in form of this delicious cake alongside caramel popcorns!!!

The food portion too small. Not sufficient for 1 person n too expensive. The service is too slow. Not much of options to eat. The presentation of food is not great. Veg options are less, Only mushroom . Paneer lover there are no option 😱

Had a great time at Hello Guppy! Their sushi is amazing and staff is extremely courteous and friendly. The ambiance could be better, but I will definitely visit again!

One of my worst experience with food. The place is bright and staff curtious, but the food is outright horrendous. Their take on sushi is laughable. The Japanese cheesecake was not a cheesecake and so not Japanese.<br/>
Apurva Varute
Cozy place. Very good ambience. Okay service. Not so bad food. We ordered pork ramen with soy base, prawn gyoza , chicken udon noodles and salmon sushi.<br/>Pork ramen was good but has an acquired taste. I felt bad about the quantity of food. Only 4 gyozas which tasted like fried momos. And 4 sushi for like Rs.350.<br/>Would recommend for not more than one time visit.<br/><br/>Cheers !

Wanted to check out this place since recommended by a friend.<br/><br/>I have tried:<br/><br/>Chicken shuimai<br/>- ok, nothing great<br/><br/>Hello Guppy salad<br/>- sad, avoid<br/><br/>Suimono soup<br/>- delicious, the best soup you can ever eat in your life, sadly only available on the combo menu<br/><br/>Chasu Pork belly with sticky rice<br/>- good but too much rice to pork ratio<br/><br/>Chicken Ramen<br/>- very nice, unique taste, get this<br/><br/>Brownie<br/>- okay, nothing great<br/><br/>Ice tea<br/>- can skip this<br/><br/>Packaging: good<br/>Pricing: expensive without combo

Went for a quick lunch at Hello Guppy during the lunch hours at BKC. Firstly the restaurant is very colourful 😄. Its known for their Japanese cuisine.<br/>We tried out their chicken dumplings and Japanese sobo rice.

Good place if you are a noodle lover..we have ordered Uron noodles.. taste was good , presentation was Okies.. next time will definitely visit again to try other dishes..

Very bad experience.First of all there was a cockroach running all over the place and when I complained to the server Momin about it,he removed it but even though we are vegetarians,he served us complimentary prawn chips without bothering to check whether we were vegetarians or non vegetarians.Totally disgusting!!
Lahiri
We reached the restaurant at 1 pm for lunch and promptly placed our orders. We waited till 2pm for the food and didn’t get any despite several reminders. We walked out, without having lunch, at 2:05pm<br/>The story was similar for other tables too. Most office goers at BKC will not have the luxury of a 2 hr lunch break.<br/>Very poor service!

Japanese is not something i eat often but on my friends request i tried here and loved sushi and sashmis. Im not a sushi fan but somehow for a change I loved it.<br/>I also tried miso soup but was not something i can eat again.
