The Fork Tale is a new restaurant opened in Fort area and mainly serves Indian food. They also serve express lunch buffet meals. I had heard good reviews of this restaurant and decided to have a meal here. They had a promotional offer and gave 2nd highest costing dish free (Bhatti Kebab Masala). I was in for a big surprise when it came to the entire experience here.

When trying Indian food, many restaurants have a similar pattern of serving food or similar taste. At Fork Tale, we ordered Bhatti Kebab Masala which had Vegetable Kebabs instead of vegetables and the taste was so delicious. I was absolutely surprised because this was one of the best sabzi taste wise I have had in my entire life. I could not find a single fault in this dish. The gravy was creamy, portion size was very good and kebabs were also enough. The dish had perfect blend of spices and cooked to perfection. We ordered Tandoori Roti with this and quality wise that was also good.
The second dish we ordered was Lucknowi Dum Biryani. I rarely find restaurant cracking perfect Vegetarian Biryani but this restaurant nailed it. The best Veg. Biryani of my life was at this restaurant. They created a perfect flavor by putting right amount of vegetables and soft rice. The aroma from this Biryani itself spoke of its brilliance.
The servers are super friendly and suggest the right dishes for the customer and chef here is a genius. I can definitely vouch that this restaurant will win awards in future and this place is definitely in a race to become one of the best Vegetarian Restaurants in town. Keep cooking the best!
Absolutely loved this place. Had gone for dinner with a small group. Tried all the Lebanese and continental dishes. Lasagna , scarmoza mac burger , hummus pita bread was amazing. Tiramisu , dark chocolate ice cream n rose pistachio ice cream were exquisite. Service with smiling face always. Adi was quick and responsive. Elderly management person Mr. Alkesh was supervising the tables with personal attention. Thanks !
Fabulous place for veggie lovers. Really loved the food quality,, staff attitude and the service. Mocktails 3 musketeers and violet moustache were too good. We will definitely visit again. Best of luck. Hope you open many more branches with this concept of unlimited table buffets and multi cuisine a la carte options.
Thanks maaz and aatif for hosting
Platter Sheesha & Mocktail...
You're good to go.
Not to forget, the nice choice of YouTube videos!
The food is awesome and even mocktails. Definitely try mint cooler
We were a group of 4. We ordered a mini thali. Something we heard for the 1st time was the Mini conti meal, mini lebanese meal & executive conti meal & executive power lunch. Very good food & taste. Very good for a quick bite with a lot of variety. Everyone should try this place. The thalis are pre plated & served on the table. Service staff is always smiling & polite. All mini thali are Rs.200 & executive thalis are for Rs.280
Came here with my family and had a great dining experience. All the dishes were really delicious and one of the best part is that the owner himself interacts with the diners. The unlimited thali called patiala house is really a value for money deal..Must visit for all the foodies.
North Indian food & few Italian dishes were nicely, prepared taste was delicious, good ambience, lavishly set dining table area... good service... will recommend to visit for good dining experience...
I had ordered some pesto pasta from this place and it was quite delicious. I'd highly suggest you guys to try this out. The quality was really good.
Very unique food, North Indian delicacies are superb and tasty, lively place and all ages can come here ranging from students where to elderly people.
Overall great experience very friendly owners and hospitable staff.
I tried the mini patiyala house buffet with my friends and it was worth the price, they gave us one glass of welcome drink and two chaat options, they had a good spread with corn starters, paneer Tikka and mix veggies
On my visit to mumbai, I happen to visit this restaurant in old mumbai in fort area. We wanted to visit a pure veg restaurant and this was a perfect choice. Loved the food quality, portion quantities and overall hygiene . Very well trained and smiling service staff. Will go and visit them again soon with another group, to try their unlimited table buffet options.

The global desi buffet was amazing, and staff was very courteous.
‘Mmmmm’ is all I felt after first bite of the yummiest italian Scarmoza Mac Burger!
Sesame Noir Bun with mac n scarmoza cheese patty along with Cajun Fries(Spicy), Raw papaya and mango slaw is something worth to try when at fork tale.
Coffee in form of dessert? TIRAMISU literally means CHEER ME UP, a coffee-flavoured italian dessert made up of ladyfingers dipped in coffee, layered with vanilla mascarpone having coffee soaked chocolate sponge as its base powered with choco dust and mini chocolate pearls will win your heart and touch your soul.
Kudos to the team!
Went to this place in the evening, in South Mumbai area near the old custom house and Asiatic library, just for coffee and desserts. Ordered coffee, tiramisu and their speciality dish, The Fork Tale dome. Everything was very good in taste. Was served by their well trained staff, with smile on face. It was probably the best Tiramisu , i ever had. The music was soothing. Loved the experience.
Love the food. Very delicious. Lovely place. Beautifully presented dishes. Love the ambience and value for money. A wide and enjoyable range of mocktails. Lots of variety in food. The tiramisu and forktale special dessert is worth trying. It’s exquisite presentation wise. Good and fast service. Very enjoyable!
I just want to say that, in addition to a nice meal, we had a chance to meet Owner Nikhil and Mitul. They had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. They recognised that we wanted time to visit and did not rush us. Entire team of staff members made certain that we had everything we needed. Kudos! I highly recommend this place.
It’s a must visit Reataurant for vegetarians just want to add that overall
Very good ambience.

Tiramisu & Folktale dessert is delicious & mouth watering
We ordered
Cheese Kurkure

Aloo cheese bomb
Bharwan mirch Rangani paneer
Dhabe ki handi - must try
And assorted naan
I happened to be in the South Mumbai area in the morning with 1 friend. After finishing work, we visited this restaurant, which has got a very good location and excellent decor of art Deco style, rustic old mumbai feeling. I ordered for their executive power lunch, which is at around Rs. 260 + GST. Must say, it is quite filling. Great food quality. Real value for money at this price. My friend tried the authentic Italian dishes, ravioli and risotto rice. He loved it too. Chocolate mousse in the dessert was exquisite
We really liked this Restaurant's concept of 3 kind of sit in buffet
1 North Indian 19 to 20 dishes
2 Continental 5 to 6 dishes
3 Mixture of North Indian & Continental 26 to 27 dishes
FROM Welcome drink to Desserts.
We were 5 of us
So we opt different buffets
1 had North Indian
2 had Continental
2 had Mix 1
Obviously it was No sharing basis as it was unlimited. We can understand why it is no sharing
But frankly it was amazing
We will definitely visit again with big group for this buffet
Food & service was amazing
We were really amazed by this concept of serving all this dishes on table course by course
1 can order unlimited times during that course & when we ordered for repeat starters we were always served with a smile.
THEY DON'T CHARGE SERVICE TAX ALSO EVEN AFTER SUCH ALOT OF SERVICE.
I suggest everyone to give tip to the stewards as we have a mentality that in thali we shouldn't be paying tips but after seeing the service. We paid tips after knowing service charge is not applicable.
One of the best restaurants to visit in South Mumbai.. 😃😃😃🍴pls try the paneer dil fekwith laccha parantha... Also the starter - tandoori malai broccoli and the three bean broth 🍲
Will visit agn 🔜..
Will visit again...
we loved the nachos n scarmoza black burger. paneer dil fek thai curry was too good. Nice hygienic restaurant. straight forward owners n management. a must visit place. Will surely visit again.
During my visit to Mumbai, i happened to visit this pure veg Restaurant near the Bombay stock exchange. The manager suggested to try their signature dishes in continental food. We ordered scarmoza Mac Burger and wild rice nachos. Both were very good. Their special home made ice creams, Dark chocolate and rose pistachio were very good too. Overall, a very good, neat n clean, place serving hygienic food at reasonable price.
Nice place. Liked the place for starters and desserts. Veg blast pizza, phyllo cheese roll, makhmali paneer roulade were very good.
Great place for veg food lovers. Will visit again soon.
Loved this place. Great food n service. Wish them all the best.
This place is very good for pure veg food. Being a non veg lover, I was apprehensive to visit this restaurant. But, eventually did visit for a college friends get together. I must say, I was not disappointed. Both the Indian food and Italian food was very good.
This is a great restaurant to visit. Very smartly crafted menu. Portion size for the dishes are quite good. It is not very expensively priced. I loved the food, especially the desserts. Chocolate mousse, tiramisu, the fork tale dome were too good. The hand madde ice creams are also very unique. Do not miss Rose petal pistachio. Will visit again one Sunday morning to have their unlimited table buffet thalis.
Visited this superb place in old Mumbai fort area with a group of friends. Very reasonably priced dishes. Good quantities in portion size. Great food quality n taste. Very different kind of Punjabi food. The owners said, they use the best quality ingredients , which will never give acidity problem after eating this Punjabi food. In continental dishes, beiruti hummus pita, scarmoza burger and vertical nachos made with wild rice were extra ordinary. Continental food lovers should try these dishes in addition to pizza, pasta n lasagna. They need to have more options for soups and should add some Chinese n pan Asian dishes. All the best , TEAM Fork Tale.
An actual family place for Amazing, Tasty and Lovely Dinning
Nice place for Sheesha and good Veg Food
Good food! Awesome service!
Nice ambience perfect place and lovely service !! Looking forward to come again
The food of Fork tale has actually forced me to write this review, an awesome day comes to end with an awesome food that I had at fork tale. This was the best punjabi thali I ever had in my lifetime. I am a great lover of punjabi food and this was the best I had right from the starter till my dal fry and rice.. started with awesome welcome drink, 2 chats and than the starters that also variety of starters served.. mind it I don't ever order starters bt here the story was different I did not left a single piece in thali ... Than came my main course with 4type of subjis and I am a pure JAIN which was intelligently taken care of while it was served to me. OH my GOD the taste was awesome... I ended my food with dal fry and rice and thought it was over now with my stomach full... But it wasn't the end, here comes the sweet dish with lovely brownie and chocolate.. I couldn't stop myself from having that as well... Mr. Mitul bcoz of the good food served I had to take good walk before me going to bed.. Thanks for the lovely Dinner on my anniversary night..I would surely be coming again to have your thali ...Bye

Very co operative staff and all those who have not liked something or not happy with the staff which we first reviewed and we were a bit hesitant to try this place , thankfully we came and enjoyed to the fullest .Those who did not like, should have definitely not been courteous themselves as we found this place and owners very respectful.
The food was amazing and tasty. Looking forward to come here soon
Good food with great variety . quantity and quality up to mark. Thai curry rice, dum biryani, apple cracker chat were amongst the things we tried. Had an overall good time . surely will visit again. Courteous staff and decent decor add to the overall value.

Quaint Little place with a beautiful decor. I loved the hospitality showed by Purvesh, he suggested some really good dishes here but the star for the day were two dishes one was their take on the local Pani Puri what they called a Mount Kuliya and the other one was the Super Man Salad OMG I tell you that salad was one of the best I’ve had till date I’m going there again for this salad for sure. The overall food experience was spectacular but I wouldn’t recommend the mocktails here I loved their innovations to the classic mocktails but the desi flavour was a little too overpowering. We tried the My Fair Lady and the Black Beauty which were fairly good. This place also serves the classic Gujarati and Jain Thali on their huge monstrous tables. It was a really good experience thank you for hosting us team @theforktale
Overall experience
Food 9/10
Ambiance 10/10
Service 8/10
Very well engineered Menu, Good ambiance, courteous staff, Reasonably priced, was able to satisfy my Taste buds, Owners were around and were very warm and courteous,,,,,,We were group of 12 ppl and went there without prior reservations...thinking it wouldn't be required since it was Monday evening. But to our surprise...almost all tables were occupied...Thanks to the Manager for accommodating us well in time...So overall it was very nice experience and had lovely evening with Fork Tales....Yeah...and special mention and Thanks a Ton to "CHEF".
Love you Guys.!!!
Deliceous food, presented and served extremely well. You’re well explained the menu and taken care of properly. It’s a vegetarian buffet in served on your table and unlimited ofcourse! Ambience is very good and place maintained well. Special star to the hygiene efforts! Do try their global desi menu in buffets, it has loads to offer in Indian as well as continental cuisine. Must visit!
The Fork Tale is a vegetarian restaurant in Fort serving North Indian and Continental cuisine in unlimited thali and ala carte options. There are 3 categories in their unlimited thali menu:
Patiala House: serving North Indian dishes
Say Cheese: serving Continental dishes
Global Desi: serving a combination of both.
We opted for Global Desi thali and there are variety of dishes on it. It is priced quite reasonably too.
Started with the welcome drink, Strawberry Mojito. Quite refreshing and goes well with food. Then we were served 2 types of chaat- Dahi Papdi and Apple Cracker. I loved the combination of apple slice, cottage cheese and crackers. The tomato coriander soup was quite flavourful and good in consistency. Not too thick.
Next came the kebab platter consisting of 6 types of tandoori starters. I loved the tandoori babycorn and aloo. In Continental, we were served cheese corn balls, hummus pita, pizza, pasta and risotto. I liked the cheese balls, pasta and risotto. Really loved the unique presentation of risotto.
Main course consisted of 4 types of vegetables, tandoori roti, naan and dal rice. Everything was delicious, I especially liked the kofta curry.
We ended on a high note with 3 mini desserts- brownie (my fav), cheesecake and chocolate mousse.
The place is well lit and bright with 2 levels of seating. Quite prompt service and good experience.

The Fork Tale at Fort has a ground floor and a first floor, both with an extremely fine & artistic ambiance.
The ground floor is more towards the casual dining experience side but the first floor supremely gives you a more fine dine experience with all the beautiful mirrors & tables around.
In mumbai only few places are hosting table buffets and this has to be one of our favourites.
This restaurant serving Continental & North Indian cuisines has both ‘A la carte’ & an unlimited
Set Menu which they call it a Platter/Thaal,
which has 3 options
1 Patiala House
2 Global Desi
3 Say Cheese
Each one of them have some different & exciting dishes along with the mocktails and desserts, so you can choose your preference.
We ordered the Global Desi Platter/Thaal for all three of us. We loved it, it was an experience which can only be experienced.
The owner is pretty humble so are the staff.
After a long time we had an amazing dinner, would definitely recommend this place.
Bang opposite SBI, fort.. this vegetarian restaurant fulfils all your cravings!! The ambience is really good... Has spacious interiors.. there is also a separate place for small groups..!! The staff here is welcoming.. The boss is friendly and looks after the guests.. We were served by Mahindra whose recommendations were bang on!!
To begin with we had the Mocktails "Mint Cooler" & "Some like it hot" Mint cooler had sprite, lime juice and essence and flavour of Mint which tasted amazing... Some like it hot was a combination of Mango pulp, mint, chat masala and red chillies was little on the spiced side..
Further we had the appetizers..
1.Naram dil kebab.
2.Pahadi paneer tikka.
3.Aloo cheese bomb.
Naram Dil kebab was good!!! Pahadi Paneer Tikka was great with big, rich and soft paneer pieces!! Aloo Cheese bomb as the name suggests was completely a bomb and tasted delicious.. It is crispy Potatoes with an explosion of molten cheese and corn... Sounds amazing right?? Was great too!!
Main course we had was:-
1.Paneer Dil fek.
2.Dal tadka.
3.Steam rice.
Paneer Dil fek was amazing in taste, quality and quantity.. along with soft butter Naan and Roti is super filling..
Dal Tadka and steam rice was good as well!!
Last but not the least had the Brownie and Chocolate mousse totally sinful and rich chocolate!!
Overall a great place at Fort.. friendly staff, awesome ambience and simply delicious food!!
Fort Mumbai has this wonderful place to enjoy an unlimited meal full of delectable dishes .
We tried their Global Desi Unlimited meal which includes all of the following :
Strawberry Mojito as a welcome delight. The mixologist did a supreme job with this .
To follow the wonderful drink were two chaat Delicacies . The dahi puri was perfect however the corn chaat needs to have freshly boiled corn rather than the pre boiled ones .
Kebabs followed tandoori baby corn and seekh Kebab were the besties from Indian or desi cuisine whereas cheese corn balls and cheese cigars were the rock star of the global cuisine.
This was followed by Pizza , Pasta and Risotto of which pasta were the best . Pizza could have been a tad better .
Indian cuisine which arrived our table next had some scrumptious gravies to go with Tandoori roti and Naan . Dal rice with papad to end this section . Their gravies are quite luscious and smooth on spices .
In Desserts we loved their cheese cake and mousse the most.
Overall a scrumptious experience .
Thanks for reading my detailed review .

*THE FORK TALE*
Being a vegetarian I am always on a hunt for more of pure vegetarian restaurants and dine in places and so landed here, at the fork tale which is all day fine dine plus a vegetarian restaurant.
It is located in prime location of fort. The place has a beautiful and lively ambience with vintage clocks and chandeliers hanging. The lightings here are bright which gives good vibe to the whole setup. The seating arrangement is spacious and comfortable.it has a cute lil bar arranged at the ground level which serves awesome mocktails.
What I liked here the most is their well defined and curated menu which is divided into Indian food and World food.plus they also have thali, fixed menu too. So the choice is yours.
Classic Indian doshes are beautifully presented with great flavours. World menu has all of it though limited but it definiteyly consists something for everyone. Whatever you oreder you won't be disappointed.
The owner himself was around and helped us decide our dishes plus he himself had a thorough knowledge of it and briefed us about the menu and the dishes. That is so commendable. 👍👍😊😊
Coming to what we had :
Mocktails :
👉 The three musketeers -
Blend of kafir lime, lime juice and a hint of fresh ginger made a great drink.
👉Black beauty - this had base of coke with corriander, chat masala and has sweet pickled flavour. Was tangy and spicy but went well with our following orders.
Starters :
👉Mount Kuliya - (chaat section)
Classic Pani puri given their signature touch. Was presented with shot glasses filled with the tikkha pani and the filling was so sO full of flavours. Being a chaat lover you cannot give it a miss.
👉Lal malai paneer tikka - (indian)
Paneer tikka coated and cooked with red chilly malai were so soft and good. Perfectly charred and had great flavours.
👉Beiruti hummus with zatar pita - (world)
Hummus made in beirut style with olives some salsa and olive oil and good amount of garlic was buttery and lite presented along with freshly baked zatar pita bread which had great amount Of spicyness too.
Mains :
👉Scarmosa mac burger -
Charcoal bun with sesame seeds on top bakes to perfection with the patty which was made of mac and cheese and it was so good alOng with veggies. It was presented along with some fries peri peri and some raw mango and papaya salad. All in all a perfect mains.
👉Teriyaki tofu -
Recommended by the Owner we went for this and were Pleased by his choice. Fried tofu with lots of crushed farlic and onion was so good, present on top followed by layer of fried rice which was cooked with asian green and also had great flavour of cooked and fried onions. Was good.
Dessert :
👉The fork tale -( recommended)
Their house special dessert which was triple layered chocolate mousse. Orange scented served along with chocolate dust, chocolate pearls and Berry compote which was so flavourful and tasty. One can actually get that hint of orange when you take a spoonfull of it. It blended so well with the berry compote. It was just so sinful. 😍😍
Had a great experience here will definitely be back for more. Thankyou.😊😊
The Fork Tale is an excellent pure vegetarian casual dining restaurant located near Bombay Stock Exchange opp SBI main branch.
It specializes in North Indian and Continental cuisine and also serves Veg thali.
The ambience is great and the tables are very huge with comfortable chairs.
I began with the mocktails, a Mint Cooler which was a mixture of mint leaves, lime juice & sprite and the other one was Some Like It Hot which was a mixture of Mango Pulp, Red Chilli, Mint & Chat Masala. Both were really refreshing especially Some like it Hot was fantastic and one of its kind.
Than came the starters which was Pahadi Paneer Tikka along with lovely Naram Dil Kebab and not to forget Aloo Cheese Bomb which was something I have not had before, absolutely loving.
Than followed the main course with the extraordinary Paneer Dil Fek, must have Daal Tadka and Steam Rice.
And to end with I had a Brownie along with chocolate mouse which was simply superb.
My verdict for this place is Great Food, Good Ambience & Friendly Staff.
It's definitely worth a visit along with family and friends.

3.hara bhara kebab : soft from inside and nice and crunchy outside..
Corn tikki : was ok didnt enjoy it much..
Lal malai panner tikka : the panner was soo soft ..the tandoor flavors again really good .
Naram dil kebab : my personal favourite... sososo good can't even tell you .. must must eat ..
Main course:
Panner butter masala : good mixture of sweet and tangy
Veg handi : combination of veggies and brown gravy
Veg kofta : small kofta which were perfectly cooked .. soo nice
Methi malai mutter : like this the least of all ..it was bland ..not for my palate ..
Nan was soo nice and soft ... even after it become soft it wasn't chewy..
Dal and tadka dal .. good again ...

@theforktale #fort #mumbai . Restro is located at such a prime location. Very near to churchgate station and in the heart of fort area. I went yesterday which was a working day and a mid week so expected it to be empty but to my shock it was so crowded that I took myself lucky to manage a good place. When I saw the menu and seen the helpful nature of owner and courteous attitude of staff with that on the first bite of the starter I knew that really I was lucky to have place there and no doubt that this place is so crowded with that the delicacies it serves are so marvelous that the place is supposed to be this much crowded. Great classy ambience and a big screen television on the corner which gives the customers a great enjoyment of @iplt20 while have tasty food. I ordered so many varieites and each one proved to be more delicious than the previous ones. I started with Pesto bruchetta a started served in a slice of baked bread with a spicy filling on it served is mayo sause and it really proved to be a great combination. Than I had Aloo cheese bomb cheesy feeling inside the fried aloo and on its slice the melted cheese with corn in it gave an amazing blench of taste and was served with a tasty syrup really tasty. Than I had Violet muchtache and it is the owners own invention. It was served with apple slice over the glass and when I had it trust me it wad damn #marvelous truely it was of the best mocktail I had till the day truely mesmerising one. Than I had Three masquitoes mocktail, it was having a strong taste with three blench of ingredients Inside and really super tasty it was. Than I had Three bean burger which had their own invented pettis inside served with vegetables in it and bun was really soft and the taste of pettis was properly felt in it and proved to be a super tasty burger. Than I had Feta Pumpkin Ravouli it was made of #pumpkin and garnished with pumpkin beans and cheese and was really tasty and this too was their own invention and proved to be a great one. At last in main course had Saundhe Aloo sabji which had boiled #patato balls inside a spicy gravy, had it with Rogan naan which was really so soft and had spicies over it. Must Must try 💕
Fork Tale-
One of the most delightful veg buffet experience. Mainly North Indian and Continental cuisine. Offers multiple choices per category.
>Ambiance
Great atmosphere and even better customer service. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The second level ambiance is more preferable being given vintage look. The food is also priced appropriately.
>Food
The menu was elaborate and not easy to choose the best one. The three choices in buffet are all good.

I admit, this place did not leave me hungry, my stomach was fully satisfied. The actual dining experience was well timed!
So, forktale is kind of a place one shouldn't give a miss when in fort! This specially holds for people who are looking for vegetarian options! The food here is simply Delectable! Being close to my office I have walked down number of times here! The best part is that they also have lunch thalis at 250 that give you happiness all over! The ambience is spik and span and brings royal elements to show (which also by the way can be bought at the counter)
Among different things I have tried here, I find their Thali to be perfect as it covers almost all the menu! We have tried a mix of Patiyala house and global Desi and have found it to be delectable! The staff is more than helpful and the service is quick! A must visit place for sure! They serve Jain options as well! Also do look for hosting parties and your events here!
Recently we visited The Fork Tale at Fort. The ambience here was decent. They had Friendly staff.
