Review Boteco -restaurante Brasileiro - Mumbai

I happened to check this out on a friend's recommendation... And it turned out to be a revelation! The meats are absolutely brilliant. If you love meat, you'll not be disappointed by any of the beef, pork and seafood options. Although I didn't have much veg, judging the accompaniments, I can stick my neck out and recommend this place to vegetarians too. And some great wine & beer options too. Great ambience to dine out with friends & groups.

Calling all meat lovers, fantastic variety and taste awaiting you !!! Must try the mix grill platter, Pork belly and apple sauce ---- lip smacking awesomeness 😋😋😋 Going back to Boteco soon. Very good service and staff who can explain the menu. Great ambience and wonderful layout of the restaurant - must check the mural.

Boteco at BKC It's very well known for its Steak, Lamb & Beef. They have amazing beef burgers too. It literally flavours the mouth so good that it can turn a vegan to Beef eater. Their specialty is their Non veg platter which gives different 5 types of different meat (including chicken) costing around 5.5k (it's costly but value for money). Apart from that, they also serve grilled bacon, pork, beef, lamb, chicken & prawns as single dishes ranging around 850 to 1k. The ambience is pretty chilled and the interior is eye catchy. The service is 5/5 and the staff is too polite & respectful. Pro tip: They also do serve a cheese ball and a green chutney dip as a welcome gesture. It taste much better without the chutney :p

There are expensive restaurants that serve good food. And then there's Boteco. Not the cheapest, but then the food you get makes every rupee absolutely worth it. There's every flavour from subtle to overwhelming, and it's all mouthwatering. The amuse bouche deserves a special mention. It is better than any I've had, and that's just the beginning. To top it all off, the service and staff were exemplary, and a lot of other gourmet eateries can learn a thing or two from these guys. A must visit, if you like exploring different cuisine.

The restaurant is a pretty cool and upscale setting at BKC. The seating is plenty and rather refreshing. Visited with my friend and we both had a nice time enjoying out of hustle and bustle of Mumbai. I was not a fan their taste, but atmosphere was rather nice. Nice crowd, easy parking and they are open late.

Have been looking forward to visiting this place for a while and after a 90 minute drive, it didn't disappoint. Fine dining as it should be. The ambiance is just spectacular. The bar looks splendid. It was a quiet week day evening with about a guest/s every other table. I ordered the four meat special and a mashed potato side. A Chilean Cab to go with the meats. Rahul was the host and he was taking good care of me. A complimentary cheese ball and soup preceded the dishes I ordered. The meats were cooked perfectly. Medium I asked and medium I got. This is quite rare in India. I hope to be back soon when I am in town.

Amazing food, amazing ambience and equally amazing service. The quality of meats and even vegetarian food is top notch. A bit expensive but you have to pay for the quality.

Fine dine is the word for this place. Exotic variety, good beef, good pork. Fish was okay. Ambience 9/10 Food taste 8/10 Value for money 6/10 Service was quick on a weekday.

I'm absolutely in love with this place. Have been there twice and everytime I want to go back to this place. It's a paradise for meat lovers. They have the best meats in the city, flavorful and juicy.

The place is nice. The mixed grill wasn't as good as I expected, though I have to try their other food yet. I've heard the food is great. Would definitely be going back to try some of their other dishes

Would love to be there for a quiet dinner with a paired wine .. will definitely recommend friends.....

One of the worst, potentially very dangerous, and most upsetting restaurant experience we have ever had!! I had a thick screw in my main course chicken gravy dish!! Complete NEGLIGENCE on their part and they even tried to explain that everything in their kitchen is fine. Obviously not, and I gave them a rightful sounding. We walked out. Luckily I bit on the screw and hence caught it but it could have been really dangerous to my health had I accidentally swallowed it. Really terrible experience and not expected from a place which is supposed to be good.

As regular guests in both locations (Pune and Mumbai) I must say Boteco is excellent in food, drink and general restaurant experience at least in India and in those locations. Partially also because there is not much to compare too when it comes to meat and western, foreigner expectation. But that would put Boteco not into the right light. As said and expressed through the rating, excellent food variation and very creative presentation, not to mention the tast and quality. Definitely a recommendation when in Mumbai or Pune.

Awesome food with excellent Ambience!!! Every food has got its own unique flavour a must go place😊

The food wins. Everything we ordered was delicious- the meat done just right, the side orders were generous and served with great presentation. If Brazilian food is like this, I'd be very happy to go there!

Terrible food ! The description on the menu and what is finally delivered are worlds apart! At this price range one would expect much better quality ! Awful experience. Tip to anyone reading this - DO NOT order from here!

I ordered the beef and pulled pork burgers and they were delicious. Just one suggestion, the restaurant needs to improve the packaging, when i got my food all the sauces from the burgers were leaking. The packing should match with the quality and price of the food. Once again food is really good.
Aarti Jhingon
Ordered in for the first time in 3 months due to the good reviews but this was truely disappointing. The Galinhada was a very oily yellow pulao with some bits of flavourless chicken (pic, I added bbq sauce to make it taste better). The Curry Baiano was not noteworthy either. The Churros were dry and the chocolate sauce oily! Certainly not worth the price. Very over priced for the quality we recieved. Don't order in..

The food was tasty although I felt the quantity could've been more. The taste and presentation was great. Appealing to the eye, with plenty of flavour. Went there with my family for dinner and the ambience was buzzing.

I thought a restaurant such as yours would provide a service that would be the envy of others. But you have proved me wrong. Can't you provide the food in a proper container so that it does not get leaked or spilled. This is not the first time I am facing this issue from your restaurant but today it was horrible. Your packing standards are the worst that I have seen anywhere till now. Hereafter I will never order anything from your restaurant.
Goodbye Boteco

The food doesn’t live upto the brand. I think there is change of chef .

I decided to celebrate my birthday at Boteco last year. Great place but the food didn’t fit my taste buds. I wanted to go a little experimental thus those this place. More than anything they had very few veg options so my choices were limited plus very small portion size. My guests too weren’t too fond of the food and after wasting so much money I had to get the extra food parcelled. However, the names of the dishes are elaborate and looks like they had truly put an effort.
Anyways what I had:
Pao de Queijo ( traditional brazilian cheese bread), the only thing I ordered 2 times. Light snack.
Queijo Coalho da India( cottage cheese & ratatouille ) pretty bland.
Pumpkin Cannelloni( avoidable)
Stroganoff de Cogumelos ( mushroom stroganoff with steam rice) can be ordered.
Rocambole de Espinafre( spinach roll filled with veggies) another thing that I liked and felt had s unique taste to it the tomato sauce didnt work for me though.
Lebanese Platter( have definitely tried at better places)
Dessert:

Petit Gateau au Chocolat: this was really goood! Gooey n chocolatey definitely a try.
Almonds Tuiles with fresh seasonal fruit- another great combination but nothing unique.

In all a decent experience not great not bad. Maybe what I ordered was not correct but I asked the servers whatever vegetarian food they want me to try I will or maybe the place is more for seafood n meat lovers.

Bored of the same old pizza, Italian, Chinese. Wanna try a new cuisine? Don't worry we've got you covered. Boteco which is located in BKC offers some of the finest Brazilian cuisine. Don't miss out on their meat grill platter which serves a variety of meat and a range of dips which are absolutely delicious. Also try out their pork dimsums which are absolutely amazing. They also server a variety of sea food dishes which are a must try.
Quantity ✹: One dish suffices two people

Price 💾: price ranges from 500-1000 for each dish.

Tip📝: Do try out each of their dips ( They also explain each of the dips.)

One of my favourite places. Must have tried most of their dishes, never a dull moment.
From the momos, to the steak, or the pork belly; all of em, perfectly done.
A very good ambience and wonderful seating, well spaced out.
My go to place whenever I have my meat cravings.
Boteco Restaurante Brasileiro- If you are a foodie and prefers quality over quantity with different cuisine, then a visit to this cozily located restaurante at the edge of BKC is a must. They serve the best South American food delicacies and once you visit there you will feel what Dorothy Day once said 'Food for the body is not enough, there must be Food for the Soul'

Had a nice evening in boteco ... Roshan was my server for the day... Best place for chill out.. Steaks and burgers are awesome delicious.. Yummy. I have ordered for the chicken ranch burger.. One must try this... They have happy hour order from 3.30pm to 7pm.....and corporate menu as well.. Nice and corteous staff... Hindi mai bolee toh paisaa vasool.. An absolutely incredible dining experience here. Excitingly unique food, with many intriguing flavours, although prices are slightly steep. Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff makes the whole experience fluidic.

Booked this place thinking will experience Brazilian food for the first time.. But for Vegetarian... I was left with no choice except may be 1 starter or 2....

let me accept.. Food quality was very good but not Brazilian..

Hence went ahed with

Beetroot burger: 3/5
Pumpkin Cannelloni : 5/5
Mushroom Stroganoff: 3/5
Asian Coconut base vEg curry: 4/5
Belgian Beer: 4/5

Any similarity with Brazilian above???

They might be having variety for Non Veg , but if you are claiming to be Brazilian place .. do modify few dishes for people like us ... who come all the way to try different food..

Food quality was quite good.. but I would visit this place if I stay close by or working in BKC ... certainly not drive down and get disappointed with options..

Reg service: I think servers were watching us all the time and were in hurry to clear dishes.. it was certainly with good intentions but that put up pressure on us as once or twice we were just having a break while talking amongst our selves , server was about to take away our dishes which still had food ..

Not visit again unless we are offered options...

The decor is beautiful! We liked food presentation. Since we visited on Thursday afternoon, we got attentive service. Portion size is really good. I just wish more on menu for vegetarians.
Arnab Roy
Amazing A grade quality of meat. Brought a tear to my eye. Will visit again. The Churrasco is an experience everyone should explore. Cant really judge it on the basis of the vegetarian stuff for lack of visibility.

Worst hospitality by arrogant Manager Rakesh I never experienced such bad service from any restaurant in life

Simply incredible. Amazing food. Courteous staff and the mashed sweet potatoes are to die for. Need to come back here soon!

There aren’t that many places in the city serving Brazilian food, so the metre to compare is really low. But I can tell you that what we had was divine. The interesting line up of accompaniments to go with the mains gives you the choice to have your meat in the taste you prefer. The hot plate served on your table allowing you to cook the last bit of your meat also makes the overall experience more fun and sizzling, if I may add. And the desserts lend the perfect end to your meal. The lighting could be a tad bit brighter around certain tables, but the overall seating is comfortable. The outside waiting area also adds to the charm of this place that is tucked away into one end of BKC.

Steak there made me feel as i was having a steak back in uruguay. Really delicious.

We ordered the meat platter that is sufficient for 4 people! It was delicious!! The sausages were amazing, the bacon wraps were delicious! Everything was beyond our expectations! Best meat in town! We will definitely be back!

We wanted to try Brazilian cuisine and given the limited options we have for such cuisine in India, we thought to give this place in BKC a try. We tried the churrasco menu which had Brazilian BBQ dishes and the meat was just excellent !! It was tender and cooked to perfection and we loved every bit of it starting with chicken wings to pork wrapped in bacon to the tenderloin steak in chimichurra sauce. The portions were sizeable including the sides and the farofa was to die for!! Special mention to the saute mushrooms in butter garlic 😁 and churros and profiteroles were the perfect way to end our meal..we are still in food coma as I write this ..the staff was very polite and courteous and added to the overall experience in a very positive way. Definitely recommended 😄

Have been very curious to try out Brazilian food for a while. Was pleasantly surprised to see a restaurant bring the unique taste of the unexplored South American country to Mumbai. Have tried several meat delights and was left craving for more each time. Love the way they serve the sauces and accompaniment with the steaks. Would love to keep visiting this quaint joint again n again

Ordered the meal box.
Presentation - oversize cardboard box with 4 aluminum foil containers. Very unappealing as compared to the meal box photograph. No tissue paper or cutlery
Sandwich - Non veg sandwich was very basic and average in taste
Sides - I asked for recommendation and said i preferred a salad so was sent a coleslaw and a salad
Coleslaw - Average in taste
Salad - The salad was terrible. Some parts were very salty specifically. The dressing was horrible.
Dessert - Mini Quindim was okay
There was no wow factor in the box. Not a single item in the menu stood out. Definitely not recommended as a working lunch.Neither is it worth the price.

The staff was very polite and friendly. They made the birthday celebration special and even gave on the house cheese cake. Would love to visit more, food was very delicious !

You know how awesome Brazilian food sounds? Unfortunately it's not so awesome when you get it

Pulled pork burger
- sad, skip

Coxinha
- this was more qibbeh style them coxinha

Quindim
- another miss, a little grainy

Packaging: standard
Pricing: expensive

Interesting fact: this place is recommended for its momos, yes you read that correctly, a Brazilian restaurant that is famous for Tibetan food

It’s a very nice and a spacious place. The area where the restaurant is situated is quite secluded and in the interiors of the BKC lanes. The ambiance and the food was very good. One of the best places in Bombay to get perfect South American food. The only drawback is it’s price. Only if they could lower the prices down a bit I think it would attract a lot more people. Polite staff plus quick service. Good place to click pictures too!

Looking to satisfy our weekend cravings and wanting to try out a new cuisine, we visited Boteco on a Friday evening for our first encounter with Brazilian food. We were greeted by the friendly staff and escorted to our table.

Food:
We were welcomed with a complementary first course of vegetable soup and cheese croquette. The soup was delicious and the croquette was a perfect accompaniment. It’s a pity the vegetable soup isn’t a part of the regular menu!

For the first course, we started with the Porcini Mushroom Soup. Packed with flavour and served with assorted bread, it was everything we hoped for, and much more.

For appetizers, we ordered Frango do Chef. Lightly but perfectly spiced chicken, served on deliciously crispy gnocchi, this dish proved to be just the kind of soul food we were craving for.

For our mains, we ordered the Mix Grill Meat Churrasqueira. It was an assortment of grilled beef tenderloin, pork wrapped with bacon, New Zealand lamb and pork sausages served with nine delicious side dishes. This proved to be my favourite dish of the evening, mainly because the meat was fresh and perfectly cooked while allowing it to retain it’s original flavour.

For desserts, we decided to go for the Petit Gateau Au Chocolat- The chocolate lava cake. A gooey centre filled with decadent chocolate and served with Vanilla ice cream, it provided the perfect end to a scrumptious meal.

Ambience: The place has a relaxed, vibrant and colourful ambiance- the perfect weekend vibe.

Service: The staff was extremely polite and knowledgeable about the food being served. Their suggestions proved to be helpful while deciding amongst the multitude of available options. The service was prompt and efficient.

Overall, we had a great experience at Boteco, and will definitely go back soon.

Boteco is hands down one of the best restaurants this city has to offer. After being consistently disappointed with many highly rated restaurants in Mumbai, this place is a much needed breath of fresh air. The steaks are always cooked to perfection as per our needs and the staff is extremely attentive and professional. As an expat, the prices offered are extremely affordable and I will continue to visit Boteco in the future.

Great place for a meat lover. A place in Mumbai excellent for meat selections other than poultry and sea food. Must try dish - carne na pedra

So Boteco is a place which is located in a quaint street of BKC. I went there around 8ish so it was a very quiet street, we thought we were gonna be murdered or something lol
Anyways it was a pretty good place, courteous staff and a great ambience.
We ordered the following:
1. Mix seafood grill: with grilled fish, calamari, crab salad, prawns, scallop and cassava cake served with different sauces and condiments (One word for this dish "YUMMY")
2. Linguica de cordeiro acebolada : which are lamb sausages. They were too hard for my taste.
3. 9'ner which is an alcoholic drink which was yummy and damn strong
4. LIIT

It’s rare to find an authentic Brazilian Resturant in the city. Boteco definitely took me by surprise as they nailed every bit , from the food quality , the ambiance and the service. I loved the vibe of the place and would definitely visit again. 🍗

It was a wonderful experience and the staff was extremely polite and courteous. The food was excellent as well. Dammar, who was in charge of our table, was incredibly warm and paid special attention to my elderly grandmother. We left with a good feeling, and would love to return for the brilliant service.

THE ONES CAUSING HAPPINESS

New Zealand Lamb Picanha

THE ONES NOT CAUSING HAPPINESS

French Magret De Canard

EXISTENCE

“I like to cook with the philosophy of using great ingredients and not altering them too much” ~
Aaron Sanchez.

The gastronomic fare of a country is determined by various factors like the culture & traditions of the societies as well as by the availability & ease of access of certain ingredients and Brazilian cuisine has been heavily influenced with European, Asian & African cooking methods and characteristics. Hence, Boteco run by Chef Guto Souza of Brazil origin has incorporated and tweaked Brazilian and Indian spices together to create a charming experience for Mumbai food enthusiasts. He has also adapted the traditional Portugese & Hispanic method of cooking (churrasco) which means cooking the meat on the charcoal grill to give more authentic flavours & aroma.

MATERIALISM

Docked in the quiet dim lanes of BKC, Boteco as the name reads in Blue neon signage has a huge seating capacity with jovial bursts of different colours, graffiti and relics decorating the place and ‘Christ The Redeemer’ painted on a wall gives it a nice authentic touch of Brazil. It comprises of wooden green tile top table and chairs with cushion that are loosely fitted giving it a bit shaky yet comfortable feel. All in all the place is warm, welcoming and has a beautiful ambiance that is pleasant to all the senses.

EGO MASSAGE

Inconsistent and inflexible are the two words that can appropriately describe the overall service at Boteco. To begin with, the bartender sends the message through the wait-staff that NO! There isn’t any other hot cocktail available except Hot Toddy and the bartender refuses to go out of his comfort zone and prepare something to satisfy the customer needs. Also, the principals were served before the appetizers that too within a blink of an eye. Despite mentioning that the duck was a bit undercooked and chewy, no solution was offered to us to rectify the mistake. Moreover, the waiter did not bother to ask us about our preference for the meat doneness. However, on the contrary, staff members were polite and apologetic for their mistake, courteous enough to ask for feedback on every dish and were groomed tidily with clean uniforms.

NOSH ‘N’ GROG

1. PAO DE QUEIJO was classic Brazilian cheese bread that was baked in-housed and served with simple marinara sauce. The breads were super soft and cheesy and had a good texture whereas; the sauce was a bit tangy and mildly garlicky in flavour that well complemented the breads.

2. ESCONDIDINHO was made of dried meat; a process where the beef is hung to dry off the water so that the meat’s flavour is concentrated topped with parmesan and mascarpone cheese and spiced pumpkin cream. The dish was beautifully plated & had a slight spicy, creamy, meaty and cheesy flavour however a bit more content of both the cheeses would have strike an apt balance of ingredients.

3. NEW ZEALAND LAMB PICANHA was the rump meat cut (hind part) of the New Zealand baby lamb grilled on the traditional Brazilian charcoal grill served with a variety of 10 different side dishes. The portion size was decent enough and the meat was hot, super tender and juicy that paired well with the dips. A special mention about the cassava chips that accompanied the meat, it would be much better if it could have been lightly seasoned.

4. FRENCH MAGRET DE CANARD came with farofa orange-ginger caramel sauce served with chestnut puree and wild rice. It basically means the breast of the duck; that the server proudly tell us on inquiring about it that it should be cooked medium to medium well for a perfect texture however the meat looked a bit reddish pink in colour and it was actually medium rare making it tough and chewy spoiling the palate completely. The dish was decorated charmingly, the farofa had a nice smoky aroma with grainy texture, the sauce had a nice mix of sweet, tangy and hot taste whereas the rice was perfectly cooked having a chewy and consisting texture and finally the puree had mellow sweet notes.

5. COFFEE PANNA COTTA was served with a shot of Espresso sauce and coffee crumble. A smooth blob of pannacotta having flawless bitter flavour enhanced multi-folds with dark espresso sauce poured over it making this sobremesas worth the entire experience. Also, the presentation of the dish was gorgeous that truly enhanced its aesthetic appeal.

SUBJECTIVISM

What! 6000 bucks for a meal for 2 people, my Gujarati money minded brain starts calculating my per day income and for how long I would have to be on a hiatus before venturing out on a new restaurant. Such a steep burn and that too for a not so great inconsistent service and a special menu dish that was slightly undercooked makes me question the value for money factor. The other dishes were exceptionally delicious and the ambiance was worthy enough yet there is a scope of improvement in being consistent in service and flexible enough to meet every kind of customer needs and demands even if it’s out of their comfort zone. The management was righteous enough to waive off the service charge.

THE PLEASURE INDEX

 Food & Beverages – 4 of 5

1. Presentation 4/5

2. We enjoyed a very authentic Brazilian dinner at @botecomumbai BKC last night. We were absolutely mesmerised by every dish that they served us last night which was a flavour bomb.
.
.
They initiate you into their authentic journey of the Brazilian and south American culture with a cheese puffed pastry ( trust me it's cheesy and light) and french onion soup which would make you choose that over any other drink!
.
.
We tried the Brazilian Chope Ale beer which was not very strong and quite nice! Along with that we tried the hot toddy which was basically Brandy with lemon, honey and on our request he added some spice to it which was really good to taste!
.
.
For the starters , we had "Casquinha de Siri" which was a crab meat starter served on a huge opened oyster shell along with three dips by the side and a bread basket! Crabmeat in general is very succulent, imagine that mixed with coconut milk , cheese and paprika and boom you have a brilliant dish!
.
.
For the main course we ordered the CamarĂŁo Carioca which is basically prawns in white wine and butter garlic sauce along with spinach and mushroom filled dumplings and it was filling and delicious. They put in a slightly sweet sauce inside the momos which elevated the flavour!
.
.
We also tried the "Bobo de Frango da Bahia" which was chicken pieces in a rich tomato and cassava based sauce served along with bread. Succulent chicken served on a bed of the thick garlicky sauce along with some potatoes and bread was not only filling but also satiating!
.
.
Yes, by now we had overeaten our share but yet we couldn't say no to desserts. We ordered the profiteroles which were sinfully delicious. Light puff pastry with vanilla ice cream in the middle topped with chocolate ice cream, now that's a combination which will never get old!
.
.
All in all this place is amazing, yes slightly expensive and not an everyday place to visit but you cannot miss their amazing service and delicacies here!

I went to Boteco for lunch with my wife and a friend. The interiors were neat, warm and welcoming.

We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 mains and 2 desserts.

Appetizer: Pao De Queijo com Linguica

-----------------------------------------------

This dish is basically choux buns with cheese, and pork sausages between the buns. It is similar to a slider. It tasted okay. While the choux was light, the cheese in the buns made the whole dish palate heavy. In fact, the cheese overwhelmed the pork sausage. That was a big let down. It was ironical that the pork sausages tasted yum. It was soft and crumbly good. There was a neat char on the sausage as well.

Appetizer: Escondidinho

----------------------------

I liked this dish. The dried steak had a distinct flavor and wonderful texture. The steak was wonderfully cooked and the cheese added an extra dimension. The spiced pumpkin cream added a lovely depth to the dish.

Mains: Mix Grill Meat from the charcoal grill

---------------------------------------------------

Easily, the best dish of the day. We were served tenderloin, New Zealand lamb rump steak, pork sausage and pork wrapped in bacon. The tenderloin was cooked juicy and yum. The pork meats were cooked spot on. The lamb was slightly over. Despite being served such wonderful meats, the whole range of sides/dips on offer along with the mains were equally eye-catchy. The sides had a whole range of flavors and textures on offer.

If you are going to Boteco, trying one dish from the Churrasqueira is a MUST.

Mains: Moqueca de Peixe

-------------------------------

This dish is a fish fillet served with a curry-like sauce along with rice. I loved the fish stew served with the rice. The coconut flavor of the sauce hums throughout the dish. While the fish was cooked spot-on, it doesn't quite absorb the coconut stew flavor in it and also lacks seasoning. I could see that the fish and sauce were cooked well separately but unfortunately, when put together, both the elements just did not come together.

Dessert: Churros with Doce de Leite

-----------------------------------------

A simple dish that delivered. Nice warm churros with chocolate sauce and condensed milk. Nothing to go wow nor down.

Dessert: Profiteroles

------------------------

This dish did not make any sense to me. I am not convinced of using ice cream as a filling in the profiteroles. Puring chocolate sauce on top of it made it messier. The choux was cooked well.

Service

----------

The service throughout my meal was perfect. We were always well-attended and taken care of. This was right from the valet to the meal in the restaurant.

I would go with 4 out of 5 for Boteco. While not all dishes blew my mind away some of them did and the service shone throughout.

Met friends after a long time and chose Brazilian cuisine for a change. The food taste lived up to our expectations but the cocktails were not up to the mark. For dessert, they ran out of cheesecake and very limited choice of dessert. Had churros which was ok not that great. Given 4 stars exclusively for food ( appetisers and mains)

This is a classic case of first impression not being the last impression. I first tried the panini that is on their takeaway menu (Rs200 for nonveg) and I was SO disappointed. But then I went for the full meal and my mind was blown! We were a big group so I got to try a lot of the food. Loved the sliced beef in their special sauce, the pulled crab was crazy good, I had the Brazilian biryani, which was😍 and another dish that stayed with me was the coconut curry based one; totally yum! A lot of my lunch companions had the meat with the assortment of sauces, I may try that next time! All in all, I cant wait to go back for the lunch or dinner. I knocked off one star because I'm still shocked about that panini!

A perfect place to get one of the best meats in town! The accompaniments with the steaks just take it to a whole different level

Brazilian cuisine primarily for meat lovers. This place does have a decent variety of veg options as well. We tried Salada Boteco, Raviolli, momos and Brazilian cheese breads for starters. Everything was warm and fresh. Cauliflower gheteau and Curry Baino were amazing too.

This place was very fascinating as it was one of the very rare places that serves South American cuisine. We went on weekday evening, so wasn't crowded, the vibe was classy but lively and the waiters very courteous and helpful.

Drinks

*Chope beer*
We'd tried this for the first time, it's a Brazilian beer which is light and a nice choice for beer lovers.

*9er* (3/5)
It was okay but had a bitter after taste, so wouldn't recommend.

*Brazilio slam* (4/5)
A good choice for coconut lovers, refreshing and nice.

*The Afterlife* (5/5)
This one was strong, tasty and one would be enough for the whole night to along with your food.

Starters

*Terrine de queijo de Cabra* (5/5)
An amazing option for vegetarians. The goat cheese, pesto and tomatoes compliment each other to create a burst of flavours.

*Beetroot ravioli* (4/5)
A nice twist to the regular ravioli. Beetroot was used instead of pasta, so make sure you really like beetroot before you get this one.

*Beef carpachio* (5/5)
If you're a fan of beef, don't skip this one. Delicious, is one word to describe it.

Mains

*Ricotta Ravioli* (3/5)
I was really excited for this one, but it was a let down. The tomato puree was flavourless and didn't just give me what I expected. Would not recommend.

*Tenderloin steak* (5/5)
A well done dish, one of their specialties, served with multiple things to go with us must try here. It's quite filling and would be good for a person.

*Surf n Turf* (3/5)
It was a dish with prawn, steak and potatoes. The prawn and potato were good, but steak, not succulent enough.

Dessert

*Coffee panacotta* (5/5)
It was perfect- the consistency, the taste and the play of texture with the soft panacotta and the crunch of the coffee crumble.

It's a good place for an occasion or date, slightly priced on the higher side, but a good experience is guaranteed.

My friend had been raving about this place since a really long time and finally on his birthday eve we decided to go to this restaurant.
From the moment we walked in we were made to feel at home. This place serves Brazilian cuisine and did they do justice to it ? Yes they served the best starters in the form of linguica de cordeiro acebolada. It was to die for. It was a great way to start our evening.
Before I move ahead I just want to assure you that this place is a heaven for meat lovers.
Meat with a few glasses of beer, whisky or wine just blends really well.
In the mains we ordered mix-grill meat from churrasqueira. It comes with plethora of sauces and each one better than the other. There was so much to choose from. We also ordered for Pato assado do boteco. It was one of the best duck dishes I have eaten in my life. Absolutely well made. Every bite was a burst of flavours. And last but not the least we had also ordered leitao a pururuca, which was the top dish of the evening. It just made my day. The best pork dish I have had till date. Absolutely unreal. They just knocked it out of the park. What a stunner. The apple sauce with ham croquettes and that roasted pork belly with the crispy skin was out of this world. An absolute delight. Unreal stuff by the chef and sous chef.
The staff was very friendly and courteous. And the place was such a tribute to Brazil. I feel really happy that we have this restaurant in Mumbai. It definitely has a repeat factor. I would highly recommend it to everyone. Pritika Rai

South America is on top of my list to visit even though I've heard it's not great for vegetarians, so I was quite excited to try Boteco hoping they would have translated some of the non-vegetarian dishes to vegetarian. It's a nice large space on a back road so use Google maps if you dare to visit.

Service: While the staff is eager to help, they have no clue about the menu including the cocktails. For a place with a differentiated cuisine the staff needs to know the menu to be able to make recommendations. By the time we get to dessert the place was empty and yet after 30 mins, no churros in sight. Finally just cancelled it.

Drinks: Most of their signature cocktails, even those with a gin or vodka base were unavailable for some reason. I tried the Passion Fruit Caipirinha which was too sweet and very mild. Had another gin and cranberry based cocktail which I just left. By then we were so disappointed with the food and drinks that I didn't even bother sending it back.

Food: I could still understand a Spanish or Mexican influenced menu but an Italian menu in a South American restaurant ? Yes they had pasta and risotto and Bruschetta etc. Oh and did I mention momos and Lebanese ? We started with Pao de Queijo which was a traditional cheese bread. Average but too dry and we needed to ask for some dip or accompaniment with it. Next up was the Queijo Coalho da India, 2 slices of Paneer stuffed with ratatouille, Bruschetta, one slice, cut up in three pieces toppped with veggies and Zucchini Primevera, zucchini spaghetti in a tomato sauce. The food was meh without any flavour really standing out.

Verdict: If you're vegetarian avoid this place like the plague. I'm just so disappointed at the food, not to mention the portion size and the price for it as well. You can get way better food a stones throw away at probably half the price.

Brazil in the heart of Bombay!! Boteco was definitely a food lottery for me. The variety they offer and also the amount of flavour and heart that goes into each meal that we had was incredible!! Loved this place, the staff was sooo warm and helpful. Ambiance is perfect for a date night or quite dinner. Truly a lovely time and a hearty meal!!

For someone who is not very open to experimenting with word cuisine, I must say this place really did a very good job to change my opinion to some extent.
For starters, we had pork momos, New Zealand lamb, fried squids (excellent)
The drinks were good- the LIT really gave my friend a happy high, and for the main course we went from prawn burgers to lobster risotto and chicken with spinach and rice and what not.
The place was nice, the ambience good, I think they have a nice place outside and in these rains they should use it better to cover and provide more chairs for smokers. Overall good!

Easily the best restaurant in Mumbai. Everything from the ambience to the customer service to the food was absolutely spot on. Way to go boteco. Amazing experience.

We've been raving about Boteco for a year and it's still as good! This is our second time at Boteco around a year apart and it's still as amazing as it was the first time. We have been waiting for the right occasion to come back and we finally found one. The starter, recommended by the waiter was brilliant. The main course was super fun because one allowed us to cook our own meat. And the croquettas in the other were lovely. They also gave us a complimentary dessert because we booked it through Zomato and mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday.

Thank you Boteco for this beautiful gesture. . This place is simply amazing. . Consider the ambience , the food , special mention to our server Mr. Damman . . Made my birthday a day to remember . . . Cheers

Boteco is one of our all-time favourite places to come back to. We bring friends and family here often because not only is this one of the few places in the city offering an authentically unique flavour but it does so along with a fantastic dining experience.
We have now come here so often that we have staples! The Carne na Pedra, the pĂŁo de quejo and the File a Palito are constants on our table. I want to particularly call out the Carne na Pedra, that allows you to cook your own beef slices on a hot stone and top it with salsa, thyme butter, blue cheese sauce and dried cassava with fried onions.
This time we got to try the lemon mousse, coffee panna cotta and almond tuiles with kiwi!
To top it all of, Dammar our server for the evening was ready to take us through this culinary experience with a beaming smile!

Great steak, great service, and good beer. I recommend the Chilly steak and the Hot stone steak. The accompaniments served with the steak are simply delicious. For dessert, i've only had the Profiteroles which are really good.

Boteco is excellent if you are a meat lover. We enjoyed the meat grill and the flexibility to make your own stake on the hot plate. Loved the chicken and bacon burger as well as the Churros. Overall, a sumptuous lunch!

My favourite restaurant in Bombay. A meat lover's paradise. Must try: chili steak and the mushroom risotto. The Brazilian rice is also pretty amazing. If you're a meatloaf fan, no place better suited than this.

The food was amazing as usual. The specials are always innovative and never fail to surprise us. The service is great and everyone was very helpful. This place has become one of our regulars!!

Superb ambience, amazing interiors, mouthlicious food, we tried their Beetroot ravioli and trust me guys it can give orgasms the moment you put these in your mouth, other dishes which we tried were Camarao Copacabana ( must try for seafood lovers) and Pumpkin Cannelloni is a nice dish to try.

Amazing food and amazing drinks!
For starters, we enjoyed the dried beef and chicken thanks to Dammar.
Enjoyed the grilled chicken and the steak especially.
Thank you for all the suggestions Dammar!

Not ideal for vegetarians. Limited unauthentic selection for anyone following a plant based diet . Should you happen to end up here , don’t go with the servers recommendations at all. I did , and I allowed him to pick the worst of the limited dishes . some non alcoholic cocktails were too sweet !
The ones to avoid : vegetarian momos ( I don’t know why momos appeared on a Brazilian food menu anyway) the wrapper was hard and rubbery and the filling was this strange tasting gooey spinach sludge , vegetarian curry with rice was a coconut based Thai/ Malaysian / Asian style curry ... again .. unauthentic. Lebanese platter .. name says it all.. the dips lacked seasoning and flavour and the falafels and Couscous lacked imagination .
It’s a place for meat lovers and not for vegetarians. Surprised this restaurant served beef 😳

Tried out this place after looking at the reviews and ratings.
Food was quite mediocre, maybe a 2/5. Don't be misled by the ratings. here. Service was fine, 4/5.

While the meat was good. The staff are not very accommodating especially considering the prices that they charge. The service element in this place needs to step up and how..
Lovely Food and Lovely Service. The staff were all polite and very curteous. Our Server Dammar was so warm, friendly and gave excellent suggestions as to the food we should try. Loved his recommendations and his vibe! Will definitely come back! Keep it up guys! 👍

Fabulous place. Great ambience. Family friendly. Staff were exemplary in service, warm, accommodating (we had a toddler in tow!), well informed and so courteous. Food was excellent. The meat was so tender and the accompaniments so flavourful. Tenderloin, Cassava chips, grilled pineapple in particular. Beetroot ravioli started was so different and sumptuous. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon !

Boteco is great if you're looking for a place doing steaks and other South American dishes in the BKC area. Based on the meals I tried out here, the food seems traditional and strong in flavours. The place has a chill and relaxed vibe and you can spend time casually enjoying your meal in the comfort of the cozy place. The service is quick and there's always someone attentively looking after your table.

Recommendations- Mushroom Stroganoff, Frango Minas Gerais.

Beautiful ambience. Superb meats ( if you are ready to experiment with non veg food)..meat platter is definately worth a try.... not to forget their churros with chocolate sauce and lip smacking salted caramel sauce...
Highly recommended...
Calm and soothing ambience, Top notch service. Very very polite and helpful staff. Chilled beers, splashing mocktails. Food other than steaks was okayish. Steak cooking techniques needs to be improved. Steak preparation like salt bae restaurants can take this restaurant to new heights.

Dammar was especially very helpful in suggesting all the dishes. He was also very courteous, polite and extremely forthcoming in his service.

Such a great meat selection. Tasty and cooked perfectly. Loving it! Also a fish is available if you must. Great spot for parties with large tables accommodating 8 to 10 pax.

I always wanted to visit this restaurant and finally got to do it for my mom's birthday.
Firstly, I love the space..the restaurant has a lot of space and tables are not stuck to each other. That already makes it a hit for me.
The food was absolutely delicious and the mango tart was the best tart I have ever had.
The restaurant is slightly expensive. But I think it's all worth it
A must visit with family/friends/business colleagues
Saloni & Yatish
Love the vibe of the place and concept.
What I really liked was, they stuck to theme and added its essence to every small detail, whether it was the food or ambience. Staff was also very professional and welcoming. When you think of authentic Brazilian you might feel that they won’t be vegetarian options but to my surprise they had equal amount of vegetarian, meat and seafood hence there’s something delicious for everyone. Loved it, will keep going back!! Kudos!💕

I had heard a lot about the excellent steaks and other meats served by this place and hence decided to try it out. The place itself is located in a remote area of BKC.
The ambiance is good. The staff is extremely polite, courteous and knowledgeable. I ordered a tenderloin steak ( medium rare). The steak is prepared fresh and took 15 minutes to arrive.
In the interim I was served a complimentary vegetable soup and a paneer starter. The steak arrived accompanied with tapioca chips and various dips and seasonings. The steak was tender with the right amount of juice. The quality of meat was good.
Though I was a bit confused with the quantity because I got served with 4 cuts of meat while several photos on Zomato show a higher quantity of meat. I would request the restaurant to clarify on this point.
The steak cost Rupees 950 ( including all taxes and service charge of 8%) which was pretty reasonable.

Review 2: So this was my second visit to boteco and this time I ordered the mix grill which cost me INR 1077 including all taxes and service charge.
The grill comprised of the following items:

1. 5 small cuts of Tenderloin steak - medium done, meat quality was good but chewy.

2. Pork wrapped in bacon - 3 small pieces of pork wrapped in bacon. Nothing special.

3. Pork sausages - 4 small pork sausages. A bit of a disappointment both by taste and quantity.

4. New Zealand lamb - 4-5 small cuts of lamb. Excellent quality.

Please note that the photo makes the quantity look a bit larger than it actually is.

Things I liked about the restaurant: service and decor (pictures on the wall).
Things I found just fine about the restaurant: Food.

Food items ordered:
Pulled pork burger: The only good part about it was the soft & moist bun but beside that nothing special.
Grilled chicken (Churrasqueira): The good part about it were the accompaniments and sad part was that the chicken was dry and a bit on saltier side.

I'd go back to give it another shot. See if these and the other dishes offer better taste or if they are still lacking.
