Banana leaf loacted in rcity mall ghatkopar its a very good south Indian restaurant.the restaurant is located on 3rd floor.the ambience is good. Staff is friendly and food is delicious.i like the place
I have never been to a restaurant just to have some authentic South Indian food. In a restaurant we always end up eating North Indian food when it comes to lunch or dinner. But I enjoyed my dinner here!! We had ordered Paneer 65, Malabar curry with Appam and Filter Coffee. The Malabar curry tasted delicious with subtle flavours that went really well with the Appam. Paneer 65 and Filter Coffee too tasted yummy! We ended our meal with some Meetha Paan. Lovely ambience and good food which is light even on the pocket. Will definitely want to come back to try more from the menu!
I visited this place on a weekday, and still this place was 50% occupied. They have wide variety of South Indian food as well as North Indian food.
Staff is very courteous and proactive.
I ordered for Steamed Palak Idli and it was delicious. They drizzled some Ghee on steaming hot Idlis just before serving them, made it taste even better. Also idlis were garnished with some cashew nuts and some shredded fresh coconut nut was cherry on the cake. It was served on banana leaf in a plate, along with coconut chutney, tomato chutney and sambar. I personally didn’t like sambar much, as I like my sambar to be made like Tamilnadu style. Portion of the dish had 3 idlis which is enough for one person.
After the food they served Paan stuffed with coconut and some sugar coated saunf (fennel seeds) as a mouth freshened.
I am looking forward to visit this place again to try out more varieties of Idlis and desserts here.
A must visit place for South Indian cuisine...so far have been to their 2 outlets i.e. at Versova and Ghatkopar and neither have disappointed me....

Hi, Banana leaf, sunday we have visited your restaurant. We were 6 people including me and my husband, he is handicapped. There was so rush at your place. But the lady from your restaurant is so energetic and so nice gesture. She made me comfortable and my husband. I asked her name but don't remember. I will recommend my friends to visit your place.
Extremely nice sambar and chutney . Great South Indian flavours . I would recommend the mini idli’s and the amazing vegetable biryani they have .
Thanks to my food partner and her South Indian lineage, i had the good fortune to have sumptuous South Indian lunch on a Saturday afternoon :P Besides, we both wanted to have something light, and this place truly offers you some light and delicious stuff which is not too heavy on your stomach. We ordered Rice Idli and Vada combo as starters along with a banana milk shake. The Rice idli was extremely soft and almost melted in the mouth. The vadas were deep fried with that proper golden crunchy texture on the outside and soft in the inside. Next we ordered Thakkali Dosa and Achari Onion Masala Dosa. Both the varieties were unique in taste. Only thing is that the dosas could be a more crunchy to add to the mouthfeel.
This is a pure veg restaurant.
Specially for South Indian.
Ambiance was good.
It takes time for preparing the order.
If you plan to visit this place for dinner then you will have to wait for table minimum for half hour.
They serve good and hygienic food.
We ordered pav bhaji dosa. It was very cheesy and yummy.
This is a pure vegetarian restaurant and the ambience is simple & nice. Since it was my first time here our server Sachin helped us out to order the right dishes. The Rajni Dosa was flavorful & non spicy. Thungbali thali is a must try with different types of South Indian preps. Overall enjoyed the food here.
Had normal dosa and palak vada.. didn't want to experiment much but the service and the food 😘😘the moment I had the first bite it took me other state of mind. Amazing food 😍

This place is great for people who crave south indian food. It serves authentic south indian dishes which tastes great with the right amount of spice. Good variety in food as well as mocktails.
One of the best places to visit when you're having South Indian food cravings. We had their Special Mini Thali. We had to make an accompaniment choice out of - Chapati, Appam, Neer Dosa and between plain rice and Bisi bele bath. Of course we tried all. The Rasam vada could have tasted better. We loved all the dishes. For dessert they served moong dal payasam (kheer-like) and Boondi laddu both of which were really good. The Dal was spot on and they had 3 other sabjis- Paneer, Bhindi and Cabbage. They were good. The Thali as a whole was absolutely delightful! Do pay this place a visit!

Banana Leaf is quintessential Udipi restaurant, unassuming in its decor and approach. Simplistic ambience and cutlery, quiet surroundings and delicious food. Banana leaf is a restaurant done right!
What I appreciated most about it though were the eco friendly straws they use for drinks. I would highly commend their efforts. It goes a long way in showing us their approach towards the environment and the impact of our small actions on it.
Coming to the food we devoured:
Pudi Uttappam - fluffy and crispy. The flavour of the spices fragrant over the well cooked and perfected Uttappam. I absolutely adore this dish and keep returning for it!
Neer Dosa and Malabar Curry - coconut milk based mix vegetables gravy served with thin and soft neer dosas. The dosa melts in your mouth and the gravy compliments it beautifully.
Ragi Dosa - I wouldn't be surprised if they start using all the different grains there are and converting them into delectable dosa dishes! Beautifully crafted thin crispy dosa with onions and spices in the batter. Loved it.
Buttermilk - freshly made chhaas with coriander and chillies breaking the monotonous taste with her fragrance and taste. An apt palate freshener.
Damage on the pocket- ₹1117
We departed with full bellies and fuller hearts promising ourselves to return very soon and try the other amazing things on their menu!
Cheers
Ordered the Banana spl. Mixed Thali. Tasted really good and was filling. They have different options for accompaniments- Chapati, Appam and Neer Dosa. All of them were great! Place is worth a visit.

Am always again and again cmg.
Thanku team banana leaf u making my day awesome...
I visited this place for a brunch on the weekend. I had idli podi, curd rice and onion wada. The idlis were soft and yum. They are served after being cut into pieces and mixed with podi and ghee as shown in the picture. Probably, I could say finger licking good. The onion wada was refried so though it was crispy, the taste of the wada was missing. 5 tiny wads were served in the plate, its quite cute to see it. Since we were quite full with this, we had curd rice which was just as homely too. Overall, good food, hoping for the wada to improve.

I came here to catch a movie...and we decided to opt for South Indian food. So we stopped by Banana Leaf 🙂
For mocktails we ordered Mango Milkshake , Mango Lassi and Watermelon Punch ( freshly prepared with no sugar or preservatives)... For all those who are cutting down sugar 😉
For the mains I ordered the Cheese Appam... That was Soo cheesy with Chetinad vegetable , Banana Leaf Special Thali and Kalan Biryani.
My take on the food.. food was tasty there was not much difference in the Mango Milkshake and Mango Lassi.
Loved the Cheese Appam and Chettinad veg 😍... Biryani was disappointing as it was bland 👎... Thali was good.. instead of chapati we opted for Neer Dosa... but quantity was less for what you pay.
Overall ambience was good but staff were less, hence customer service was not at it's best.
We decided to catch a movie at this mall, and, opted for Banana Leaf.....for a much desired South Indian meal.
First let me dive right into what we ordered....
For Mocktails we decided on....
Watermelon Cooler
Mango Milkshake
Mango Lassi.......it was refreshing no doubt...but....the Lassi and the milkshake tasted almost similar. 🤨
For Mains we had.....
Banana Leaf special Thali
Cheese Appam
Appam and Chettinad mixed vegetable.
Kalan Biryani......it was bland 😏
My take on this......
The ambience is good.....but....they need to maintain it....so many places the bells ( hanging on the partitions) were missing.
The food is tasty....but the quantity less for the price you pay.
The place had filled up....and order takers less....so, we were placing the order and in between the server would be called to another table to collect the money or..... something else .....this was irritating.
BUT....the food was tasty......the ambience good.....if the management could only look into these pointers....this place will get a huge 👍👍

Banana Leaf is located in R-City Mall, Ghatkopar. It is a unique South indian fine dining restaurant. Since Banana Leaf exhibits the cultural richness of South India, the restaurant makes sure patrons feel the essence of South India right from the food, the serving, the ambience, the staff, etc. The enormous menu comprises the flavours from Andhra Pradesh, Kerela, Tamil Nadu & Karnataka. We’d recommend that you start your meal with some Jeera Milagu Rasam, work your way through the idli section and then hit the dosas, with some vadas on the side. You can even go for their thali, Rajni dosa, Coorg Idli and end it with some coconut payasam. They also have a lot of healthy options available such as soya khichdi, oats khichdi, soya medu wada and more. End your meal with their filter coffee as no South Indian meal is complete without this. Overall if you are in Mumbai looking for that original south indian food experience, you must visit here!

I have always liked this place and now it has given me a reason to like it even more. Other than their simple ambience and courteous staff the food has been a major highlight.
The appams - fluffy and soft - pretty perfect actually, were great when teamed up veg chettinad and veg mallipuram.
The mannapuram rice was also very good and had a good blend of south Indian flavours.
Their akhrot halwa has always been my favourite. Its fudge like consistency and taste is to die for.
This place has awesome food and a huge menu which i look forward to trying.
We tried Paneer Chatpata Doasa at this place. It was awesome. The taste and quantity were nice and price worthy. The ambience of this place is nice. The taste of chutneys was awesome. Loved the Dosa😋

After visiting this place I realised that there is so much and many varieties in South Indian food. I tried many different and unique South Indian dishes which I never came across.
Things I tried-
Takali masala dosa-
It’s just like rava dosa, which was stuffed with potatoes masala and tasted really good along with coconut chutney.
Rajni dosa-
Dosa was stuffed with potatoes masala and topped with cheese.
Kanchipuram paniyaram-
This was like of smaller version of idli which was a bit sweet because of jaggery and coconut. Served and tasted good along with coconut chutney and sambhar.
Appam-
It is like a dosa, but it was a sweeter version of it. And it is mostly ate along with some curry, I opted for VEG MALIPURAM which was a mixture of paneer and tasted really good.
Akhrot halwa-
I never had something of like this. And this tasted really good. Akhrot halwa was kind of like walnut fudge. Recommended
This outlet is specialised for South indian and Kerala food ... special type of idlis, dosas, rice items and curry's

Visited here last night. Ordered a Rasam and the Idli Platter which came with with around 6 varieties of Idlis pictured below. Loved all of them. They've got a lot of varieties of Idlis available on the menu, but I would say the platter is your safe bet. Feed 2. Great value for money.
Good food, good ambience, good staff and service.
It's in real city mall, ghatkopar West. They have outlet there. Many options are there. South Indian food lovers will love it. As they have named banana leaf - they have done interior also with them of banana leaf. Authentic south Indian food.
They have thali system too. Coffee, stater, main course, desert etc...
Must visit with friends and family.
This is the Best place for South Indian Food along with Malgudi. I love both these places for the South Indian Food.
The ambience is too quiet and calm. Its usually not crowded. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. If you ask them to suggest you the best options from the Menu, they do guide you in a right way.
You should definitely try the Rajani Dosa. If you like spicy food then go for Chettiand sabji with Appam.
If you are a Dessert lover or not, still you should try the Manna Puram Halwa. Its like the best & tastiest thing on earth. You will thank me for this later.

Banana leaf and thambi happen to be my favourite restaurants for southindian delicacies. We tried Keerai Wadi which was served with green and coconut chutney as well as Rajni dosa and wada sambhar. Keerai Wadi is a crispy southindian style daal wada perked up with amaranth leaves. Enjoyed it! Rajni dosa has lot of veggies, paneer as well as cheese. Overall decent family restaurant and lives up to it’s authentic image.
