Review Shizusan - Palladium Mall - Mumbai

SAJU SALIH
recently visited a restaurant that offered a fusion of Indian, Chinese, and Sichuan cuisines, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. The Indian dishes were flavorful and aromatic, with just the right balance of spices. The Chinese dishes were well-executed, with tender meats and crispy vegetables. The Sichuan dishes were a standout for me, with their bold flavors and heat that lingered long after each bite. I particularly enjoyed the spicy garlic noodles and the fiery kung pao chicken. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. All in all, I had a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique blend of cuisines

I recently visited the restaurant in town called "Shizusan ". I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of food on offer. The menu had something for everyone, from vegan dishes to more traditional fare. The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable. The atmosphere was inviting and relaxed. I would definitely recommend Restorent to anyone looking for a quality meal at a good price

We went for the dinner and the food was amazingly. I have tried other nearby restaurants in the area but there is no comparison to the taste. The service was outstanding with warm, cozy and romantic ambience. Slightly over priced yet the ambience pays for it. We highly recommend this place to everyone.

We visited this place for breakfast and dinner. The place is very conveniently located (on the highway ) with ample parking space. The food at both the meals was tasty I suggest you guys please visit here and enjoy this food..

Exotic Asian food cravings satisfied!! Definitely a must try place for all the Asian food lovers! We ordered our dinner from this place and really enjoyed the quality and authentic taste of each and every dish. Packaging was upto the mark, food was delivered on time and piping hot! All the safety protocols in place. We ordered honey chilli potato, Garden Dragon Sushi, Edamame Truffle oil Dimsum, Basil vegetables in chilli oil, Chilli Garlic Noodles! We highly recommend this place for sushi and dimsum, it's next level delicious! Garden Dragon Sushi, very well delivered in an excellent packaging. This sushi rolls were stuffed with fried asparagus sticks wrapped into perfectly cut Avocado. Perfect rolls topped with spicy mayo. Overall it was fantastic! Edamame Truffle oil Dimsum, to all the dimsum lovers don't miss this one. Fantastic presentation, desired shell thickness and steamed to perfection. Melt in mouth kind of stuffing! Totally loved this Dimsums! Honey chilli Potato, could actually get hint of all the flavours, perfectly sweet and spicy those potatoes were so well tossed in chilli sauce along with some fresh green onions, topped with apt amount of honey for the hint of sweetness! It was flawless I would say! Chilli Garlic Noodles & Exotic Vegetables in chilli oil, this combo was bomb! Fresh and juicy mushrooms, zucchini, baby corn and greens including broccoli, bok choy. all of this in perfectly thick chilli oil gravy. It went so well with the chilli Garlic Noodles! Definitely a flavourful combo. Overall, it was an excellent experience of exotic Asian food. Impressive quality and authentic taste. I would definitely recommend sushi and dimsum from this place. We enjoyed our dinner from this place.

If you are looking for Korean, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese food, this is the place to go. The food is really good and so is the ambiance. The staff are very friendly. We ordered a G &C for drinks and for mains we ordered the Jajangmyeon noodles with chicken and the Sumatran Rendang Duck. Both were really well made and full of flavour. I however felt that the quantity of noodles served was a smaller portion. Overall a nice place to visit for a meal.

No better place than Shizusan for your Pan Asian feast! We had heard so much about this restaurant from our friends and family that when we called for food from Shizusan we were already excited and had high expectations! Shizusan not only met those expectations but beat them and how! What we had: Cottage Cheese Dry Chilli Siracha Blush Sushi Mapu Tofu Hibachi Japanese Fried Rice Thai Green Curry The Cottage Cheese Dry Chilli was surprisingly very low on heat. With the amount of chillies we saw in the dish, we were surprised at how mild it was and absolutely delicious too! Everyone in the family could enjoy it! Sriracha blush sushi came in highly recommended and only after trying we realized why. We aren't exactly big fans of sushi so we normally play it safe. But this time around we tried and we absolutely fell in love with the new type of sushi which wasn't avocado for a change. Simply loved it! Mapu Tofu went really well whether Hibachi Japanese fried rice. And the Thai green curry turned out to be our personal favorite and one of the best we've had in any of the Asian restaurants. We actually made some Jasmine rice at home and it went so well with the Thai curry. overall Shizusan was a great feast and we are definitely going to either order from here or dine in at the restaurant soon to try out some more dishes.

Situated at the entrance of the High Street Phoenix mall, this is One of the best restaurants in terms of authentic Oriental cuisine. A perfect combination of Taste, food presentation, and aroma would definitely tickle your tastebuds. Initially I was kept waiting for a table and took way too long to find a staff and place my order, which dampened my spirits. However I was guided well on my order selection. Cuisines: Japanese, Korean, Thai, Chinese, Indonesian. Food: 9/10 Presentation: 10 /10 Ambience: 7/10 (noisy traffic outside ) Service: 6 / 10 Value for Money: 7/10 Parking Space: 9/10 (mall parking)

I have been to Shizusan a couple of times and they never fail to impress. Since we love the food here, I decided to have my birthday dinner here and it was definitely one of the highlights of the evening! We had the pad Thai noodles, masamman curry, Nasi goereng and some beef stir fry. Everything we called for tasted amazing! What we were really impressed apart from the food was the service! My friend had a really bad cold and the waiter noticed the same and got her a complimentary hot drink made of honey and some spices. And the end of the dinner he also gave us a complimentary dessert on the occasion of my birthday. It's these little things that make a dining experience even more memorable. All in all I had a great time at this restaurant. Thank you ☺️

This place is so pretty with pastel pink decors.. They have tried their best to incorporate a Japanese aura.. I liked dumplings and Dynamite shrimp tempura the most.

One of the best Pan Asian restaurants I have been to in Mumbai. The menu is unique and wide. I specially enjoyed Hibachi Fried Rice. Missing the Shizusan food as I haven’t been able to go there for last 6-7 months now. :((

Shibui a part of shizusan has come up with Sunday brunch and it's a total treat for sushi and dimsum lovers.

They have cocktails, salads, appetizers, dimsums, sushi and desserts.

The dimsums were delicious. Perfectly done, retaining the crunch from Vegetables. Loved them.

The sushi were good. Tried three Vegetarian ones. Each one was done well.

The water chestnuts and crispy lotus were good. Fresh and flavorful.

The salads were quite fresh too. Well balanced and good.

Loved the deserts. This friday I had my dinner at this amazing restaurant in Mumbai. I am a big time fan of South Korea (specifically their KDramas) and always wanted to try some of their exotic dishes. This restaurant has a mixed menu with best dishes from China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and many other Asian countries. If you want to try some Asian cuisine then it's a must visit for you...
The ordered menu had the following:
1.Atlantic Salmon Nigiri
2.Peking Duck bao
3.Malaysian duck rendang
4.Jajagyongyan noodle with shitake and chicken mince
5.Mantou bun
6.Crystal vegetable dim sum
My favorite was the "Peking Duck Bao" ❤

We went to shizusan for the dinner the place is renovated and looks cool, ambience is soothing.
We tried few dimsums, sushis and baos.
The staff offered a complimentary cheese cake for the bday girl which was awesome.

I went to shizusan lower parel yesterday and loved the hakka basil chicken ultimate tasting food loved the place...

A very average experience overall.

Ups:
- edamame dumpling which was 4 star

Downs
- service was lack luster. Had to ask for water twice before they refilled. Staff was busy closing than serving.
- the sriracha Sushi lacked the freshness , I ain’t a sushi expert but there was something amiss. It fell apart when using chopsticks, was warm and most importantly tasted very average
- the lotus stem was stodgy and poor.

Shizusan in my experience was far better 3 years back and my fellow diner a regular to this place a few years back agreed too. They need to pull up their socks and come back to their hay days. Hope to visit Kurla sometime which is closer to home, let’s see.
Sanjukta Lahiri
One of the best places in terms of food, courteous staff and ambience. Perfect place for a date and the most perfect place to hog on dimsums. A little on the expensive side but totally worth it.
Chitra Samant
No mouthfreshners provided. No additional sauces provided native to Asian food...like wasabi ...ginger etc

If you up for some Pan - Asian food, Shizusan is the right place for visit. It has a good variety of pan Asian food which is authentic and has an amazing taste.

The noodles, rice, sushi and the mock tails were the things we had.

It is a very mordern Resturant with a decent staff and ambience.

The taste and liking for Asian food gets pumped up.

The staff is nice and has good knowledge about the food which helped us in enjoying our food which they had suggested to go for.

Interior is well lit and nice.

The experience , overall was really good. Would definitely recommend this place for sure

Food:- 5/5
Service:- 4/5
Ambience:- 4/5
Staff :- 4/5

Honestly I was expecting more out of this place considering it’s rating and also since it’s pricey. Then again which Japanese restro is not!!

Firstly, the ambience does not ho with the cuisine they are serving. Frankly, the place feels and looks like a French pastry shop. Too peachy not at all Asian.

However, the food is true to the cuisine they promise. The sushi, the dumplings, the raw papaya salad are all authentic in taste. I was a tad bit disappointed with the boa though. Even though the bread was soft and moist, the meat inside was rubbery and dry. Food presentation is fancy.

One more thing - the seating can be little more comfortable (but that’s just my opinion). A/c wasn’t working when we went (from previous reviews that’s mostly the case) but that din bother much to me.

Staff is cordial and service speed is moderate.

Shizusan is a beautiful modern yet classy restaurant with a serene ambience and courteous staff...the massaman curry chicken is to die for the creaminess balance with d fragrant spices...my favourite phad thai noodles perfectly balanced....kudos to the staff

Had gone for a light meal after a movie and realy enjoyed the food. The black bean yaki udon with prawns was very nice but just couldn't locate the prawns in the dish. The sea bas and bok choy in the mustard sauce and black mushrooms was excellent. Just these two dishes were filling. Will definitely go back again.
Alisha Arsiwalla
Like always we enjoyed our meal. Love the pork boa and the pulled lamb bao, the nasigoreng , the black pepper lobster is my all time favorite. Must try for some for good oriental cusine
Judy Patange
Very bad service. This is Indian Chinese and not authentic Japanese. Oily, no taste and zero value for money. Kindly avoid if you love Oriental.
Jubran Akhtar
Great food and very good cocktails
I have a different love for Asian food and they kept my expectations upto the mark
Good job
The dimsums are really good and so is the Thai curry
The rice needs a little upgrade
Good job!
Siddhesh Mayekar
I am a fan of this place. Amazing food great ambience good service. But this time was disappointed with the mosquito menace in the restaurant we had to change tables but the problem wasn't solved. Request the management to take a note of this its a mood spoiler when one is swatting mosquitoes while having dinner and plus paying service charge for it.

Flies all over the place. Horrible experience! Couldn't imagine high street Phoenix having such a place full of flies!
Nikita Garg
Looking for sumptuous dim sums and sushi? This is THE place. I love the Korean noodles they serve. Was not a big fan of their Thai curry though. Service was prompt and the ambience was good too.
Chanchal Rathi
Glad to have picked this place after shopping at Phoenix!
Noodles, dim sums, bao, wontons, thai green curry, jasmine flavoured rice and dessert sums up the entire meal!
The thai green curry is amazingly delicious! And so are the wontons!
The complimentary dessert came as part of palladium's birthday just ended the meal on a perfect note!

Good veg food.. Especially the edamame dimsums

Comfortable place to eat food, the staff is attentive, good food. Loved the chicken dumplings, good use of blends. Had the Tom Kha soup again very tasty and the nasi goreng.
Partho Ganguly
The Hainanese chicken, along with most other things, seem to have been just flung off a cliff. Change of owner, apparently. Never again.

This is a very nice place. It's quite spacious with plenty of seating across 2 floors. Delicious food and drinks. I love the Vietnamese Cold coffee.
If only there was the option, I would rate this place 4.5/5
Just missing the 0.5 stars because the desserts were slightly underwhelming.
Arundhati G
Will not recommend this place. Even though the little food we had was good, this is not the most hygienic place. Mosquitos galore, a special appearance by a rat in the middle of the restaurant and not so great service! Hope this restaurant improves...because the food was good.
IndieOpus
Got a chance to visit here recently for their launch week and firstly the interior is well lit and grand! Multiple options for sittings and the bar is made nice casual open to all which is a fun place to sit and eat too!

Avocado salad roll, Philadelphia roll, asparagus tempura, Edamame Petit poise truffle oil dimsum, Crispy Kung Pao potato and kimchi spiced cottage cheese satay were all the winners for the show as these all were super yummy for my palette !

Thai curry is also one must haves here and for sure it's a must visit place for your Asian taste cravings!
Aditi Bhattacharjee
Not a fan of their baos because generally I don't like sweet stuff but I really enjoyed their dimsums and soup. However now that they have changed their menu I am raring to go and try their new offerings soon
Nikhil Seth
The place has a really nice ambience. The food is absolutely scrumptious! They have a variety of unique cocktails that are a must try! They had live music playing the night i went and that only added to the experience

Service is little slow. Went there on a Friday evening and their upper floor was being renovated. All the employees were in their own buzz watching people pass or busy talking to each other. We ordered quite a lot of items and had to cancel a few due to slow service as we would miss our movie otherwise. Have had better experience at Shizusan Pune Phoenix mall. They served halo halo which is totally NOT authentic. I’ve had halo halo in the Philippines and this one comes no where
Near. Just a pile of ice cream and purple coloured ice cream instead of the authentic UBE. I do understand improvising due to non availability of local ingredients but this was next level. Also tried the Thai dessert with water chestnut and ice which was totally inauthentic too. Can make better at home. Would never come back here.

I don't miss any chance I get to try new places for sushi and this was on my list too! Tried the sushi, cashew chicken and rice and the food was nice ! Wasn't as good as I expected it to be but wouldn't complain too.

Good food , had the mushrooms .. was amazing , ordered the bao , consistency of the bao was good and taste out of this world , polite staff and hygenic place

I visited last month. So excited for their gluten free menu because I was on a diet. The seafood soup and noodles were amazing. However the order took 1 hour to prepare. I feel like the staff forgot but we did not say much.

I had sushi for the very first time here. And i absolutely loved it. Sushi is an acquired taste and Shizushan has not let me down ever. The pork kimchi madoo is lip-smacking. Over all i love the sushis and the dumplings. And the baos are very soft and juicy meat stuffed.
Sneha Gupta
I went to Shizusan on a Sunday and it was the best decision ever. The food is so good. I love Asian food and Shizusan satisfied the foodie in me to another level. I was so stuffed but I still kept eating and ordering more food. I had the dumplings, shushi, noodles and gravy and it was ALL so good. We paid 1200 per person and it was totally worth it.
Kevin DSilva
The ambience was good. Staff were polite and the food was good. I would recommend getting the prawn bao was was awesome. Overall a really good experience.

Visited this small place in the insanely crowded mall... We ordered California roll for sushi, waterchestnut n chives and crystal vegetables in dimsums, shitake and tofu for main curry, and Thai pad kee mao for noodles... Sushi was okay so u can skip it... Dimsums are superb and noodles are great... All in all a good place with a pretty exhaustive menu... They have images of dishes which helps you better which is a plus point for sure... Can visit if you are searching for an Asian themed restaurant option...🍝

Located within the craziest mall of South Mumbai,is a place which serves mouth watering sushi's, besides providing a variety of options for vegetarians, they also have a separate menu for Jain. The ambious was perfect for a lunch /dinner and the California roll is a MUST

Worst management. I really dont remember the Person name i guess mohtsameen was his name something like that. We entered with a kid at 10:15pm. We were group of 6 people with one child. We requested him to give us the table as soon as possible as we were with child .One 4 person table got free we told him we will start with 4 people first and later you can give us another table. But he was so stubborn he did not give us the table . Later 2 people came there . There were 2 tables empty 4 person and 2 person he should have given them 2 person table but he gave them 4 person table . That was the height of his rudeness. I really dont know why that person did not wanted to give us the table. I guess you should work on your management skills and teach your staff how to work and behave with people. Very bad service. We were loyal customer of shizhusan and we will not enter again to your restaurant.
Isha Sharma
Very ordinary food, small portions and very disinterested service. The rice vermicelli was super oily, the bao was tasteless and gyoza was strictly just ok!!
PK
Lovely pan Asian menu.. Pretty exhaustive and the good part is they provide pics of each dish so u know exactly what ur ordering. The Balinese soup was really yum. The pork ribs were nice and succulent. The handpulled chicken soupy noodles were yumm. The milo milkshake was also great.. Took us back to school days. In all a must visit place for Asian cuisine lovers.. And a bit affordable with the Zomato gold.
Sankalp Khemka
The place was very average to be honest, the air conditioner didnt work at all and even after multiple complaints to the staff no action was taken. But apart from that their food was also pretty boring.

Lower Parel's Shizusan Shophouse & Bar - the exteriors were not welcoming but overall experience was above expectations.

We would go back for the Classic Miso Soup and The Kimchi Fried Rice, the best part of our afternoon and a devour in every bite.

The 9 Piece Assorted Sushi Platter was a treat although it just had 3 varieties, less than what we expected.

The Mogo Mogo Iced Tea and China Jasmine Iced Tea were average.

Vietnamese Bánh Chuoi Nuong (basically Banana cake with Chocolate Mousse) was mouth – watering.

Ambience – 3/5, because the only thing Japanese were the chopsticks.

Hospitality – 4/5

Food – 4/5
Overall Experience - 4/5

#sushi #miso #japanese #kimchi #shizusanshophouse Shizusan Shophouse & Bar

The place didn't live up to the reputation of the counterpart in Pune. The sushi was not fresh and tasted bad. The salmon maki roll.waa chewy and the rainbow maki was nowhere close to what I've had in the Pune outlet. They don't have wooden chopsticks either.

For me it's the place around the corner for Asian while shopping on weekends. Being a vegetarian you always have fewer options in Asian but this place has a better range comparatively.
I've tried most types of sushi. Most have been good. Love the yellow Thai curry and sticky rice combo. Dessert options are limited and not that interesting. Ambience is calming always. Service is also great.
Awwfoodie
The Rainbow Maki Sushi & Philadelphia Rolls are some of our favorite starters here!
For vegetarians, we recommend the Brie Wontons,Fried Lotus Roots and Chili Basil Edamame Dumplings!
The Green Thai Curry is one of the best for Pan Asian Cuisine restaurants.
For the Cocktails, Lavender Doll is one of the most potent drinks with the perfect champagne blend taste.

Food -5/5
Ambience- 4/5
Service -4.5/5
I can’t recommend ALL the food here, but some sushi’s and some of the selection was great. The ambience is really nice, and the service is good. However, the rice potions are extremely small.
The potions themselves in fact are a little small for the price range. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the taste & still had a good time :)

Shrimp dimsums are a delight.. these are tiny though.. the slow cooked pork belly is a must have.. hainanese chicken fried rice is awesome too.. surely coming for more

First of all this place is huge. A joyous whoop for fun, fiction and food sizzled stir fried and served up in vibrant South East Asian dishes. Welcome to Shizusan. No! It is not misspelt “Schezwan” but is named after a fictional traveller Mr Shizu (in the tradition of India Jones) a collector of maps and recipes and this is his shophouse. The food, cocktails and décor at the Asian Shophouse & Bar is inspired by Southeast Asian street food and travels across the rich-food cultures of China, Japan, Burma, Vietnam, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand. We tried the MAki rolls Siracha Blush it was spicy and good, Tofu Tempura Excellent. We will be visting once again.

Ambiance: 5/5

Value of money: 3/5

Service: 3/5

Food quality: 4/5

Taste: 4/5
