Review China Bistro - Mumbai

Raghav Bhide
Great place to have Asian food in Chembur. Ambience is good and comfortable. Food is delicious here. The Crispy Avocado Sushi was a hit! All the appetizers were great. The Chicken Khow Suey was the highlight. Beautiful yellow coconut broth with rice noodles and a great array of condiments to go with it! Service was okay. Bit underwhelming. They also serve brunch for lunch and alcohol. Definitely a good place to dine in Chembur

A good place if you are a fan of Chinese cuisine. All the items on their menu are just authentic. Good and prompt service by the staff. Their buffet has a wide range of options to choose from in both veg and non veg.

Last night, we dined at China Bistro, where the dim and romantic ambiance set the mood. Our culinary choices included the delightful Crunchy Avocado Roll Sushi and the flavorful Chilli Garlic Noodles, both of which were outstanding. However, the Eight Treasure Soup left much to be desired, resembling a basic sweet corn soup. While the experience was okay, I've encountered more impressive Asian dining establishments.

beautiful ambience. I ordered Sushi - The best I have tried in navi mumbai. Stuffed with mushrooms and veges. Authentic taste Dimsums - Delicious flavours but less quantity. Thai curry and crispy potatoes were also delicious. I totally loved the cheesecake, again a must try. Overall experience was good, must visit place.

Nice place for go for a quiet dinner. They have valet parking so that’s not an issue. Large capacity so you’re sure to get a table. The food was really nice. Good range. Little on the pricier side but delicious and worth it. Service was fast and waiters were very knowledgeable and engaging regarding the dishes and preparation. Highly recommend.

Super yummy and healthy food. You can try anything. I have visited 5 times total as of now. My most visited restaurant. Service is a bit slow , else everything fine .. You can celebrate birthday or any occasion here . Must try Buddha's fu desert.
Sujata Sriram
A great place for a group to get together and share a meal. The buffet spread is substantial. Starters are served at the table, and the variety is such that you can fill up on soup and starters and not want to eat much more. The variety is great for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Dessert choices are limited. There is a chocolate fountain which kids will enjoy. The best part is that you can have an unhurried meal.
Madhur Dsilva
We really enjoyed the Afternoon buffet. The straight away dive into the seafood starters were the highlight of our experience .. . The kids relished it well ....total bliss. The setup well managed with good service from all the attendants right from valet parking . The staff well mannered and efficient even with house full seating .

It was truly an amazing experience visiting China Bistro - Chembur, located just some distance before Telecom Factory. I went to have dinner and we ordered Crispy Spicy Avacado Roll, South Asian Chilli Cottage Cheese for starters & for mains we ordered Soy Garlic Pan Fried Noodles. The Crispy Spicy Avacado Roll & South Asian Chilli Cottage Cheese was delicious but Garlic Pan fried noodles were not as expected which seemed to be more oily and plain in taste. Overall the experience was good enough. The Ambience is classic and the staff service is amazing.

Food is very authentic and rich in taste I tried Dimsum , chicken starter, Nasi rice and In dessert Buddha's fu and everything was super duper delicious Quality food I must say also service is good. So it is a value for money Do visit to enjoy authentic Chinese food.

It was a lovely evening i spent over here. You will definitely enjoy Pan asian food. Ambience is nice. One thing i must say that if you have lots of time then you can enjoy here because you have to wait for ordered food for minimum 20-25mins. Valet parking available. Cost for two is ₹₹₹₹.

I visited China Bistro with my family. This is a great place to enjoy Pan-Asian food. The menu is not limited to Chinese only. It covers the best of Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hawaii, Japan, Korea etc. The soothing lighting, light music, the wall decor and wide floor space creates good ambience. * Service is quick, * Staff is friendly * Location on Bengaluru-Mumbai highway is perfect * Free valet parking is a relief * Food tastes great Overall, a place I would like to visit again and again.

It's official today.. China Bistro Chembur food is anyday better than any of the Mainland China outlets there in Mumbai. People who know me, will understand the importance of this post when it comes to food. Thanks.

Being a chinese lover so was looking forward to visit China Bistro. The outlet is somewhat far from Chembur station. An auto ride would be convenient. The ambience is so soothing along with a colourful wall art in buffet section. Unlimited Buffet options are available in afternoon. The staff is polite & service was prompt. Prices are on a higher side but fine dinein experience. The beverages & dishes we tried were: ▪︎Sangria Basil Iced Tea ▪︎Apricot Orange Blossom (recommended) ▪︎Truffle Mushroom Sushi Chicken Roll ▪︎Shanghai Chicken Dumpling (recommended) ▪︎Roast Chicken in Smoked Chilli ▪︎Chicken Fried Rice ▪︎Budha's Fu (recommended) The presentation of all dishes & drinks were presentable. Loved the Apricot Orange Blossom. Especially the dessert Budha's Fu had a unique way of serving. Dumplings were really juicy & yumm. Sushi's were good but tasted a bit hard in the center. Chicken Fried rice was good but Roast chicken in smoked chilli could have been better as it tasted more towards salty side. The portion can be worked upon. Budha's Fu was a unique dessert to go for. Mango pudding topped with Vanilla icecream & caramel sauce. A tiny portion of whipped cream besides. Do try this :) Overall its a pleasant place to dinein in with family, friends & special ones. Dim lights adds on to your dinner experience with soft background music.

Had gone for lunch buffet on a Saturday the place was packed with people and the ambience was good. Service could have been better asit was about slow but was nice, starters are served at the table and the main course and desserts you ahve to help yourself. Main course varieties were also good and had multiple options starting from lobster, crab, fish and chicken . Nice place to visit for family lunch or dinner

It was a great experience. The ambience and the staff are really great. The food, might look expensive, but worth the cost. Some of the best cuisine I've had in a long time. Great place for groups and family. Loved the place.

Love this place for amazing Chinese. Very classy place. I normally prefer going for their buffet as it offers a huge spread of dishes to try.

Ala carte order I always go for their Thai curry - very authentic and perfectly made.

I had a Great time.
Wondering about the richness of food quality they have is Amazing even the ambience adds a grest perspective to the total enlightening moment.
But to the knotch quantity is a little less as compared to the Price but other than that worth of a experience.
Should try must and have a great time there.

The worst Asian food you can order, a road side stall is much better. Please don't waste your money ordering from this restaurant. The chicken dumplings had a stale chicken stink as if the chicken was very old and the same problem with the chicen gravy. The padthai noodles were stuck and beyond edible.

Please don't waste your money
Disclosures: I have been a fan of India Bistro and it's food since ever. I am not fond of Chinese food but my wife loves it.

We have been ordering in from China Bistro during the lockdown and have noticed the quality of its food deteriorating with every passing order. The Fire Roasted Mandarin Chicken is one of our favourites and we always happen to order it alongside a main of noodles or rice. However in consecutive orders the freshness of the meat is big issue. The Mandarin Chicken itself as a dish has been inconsistent. Today, one of the Chicken portions actually smelt stale. Don't know if they've been using leftover meat or what it is...but I really hope this is a lockdown-related issue!
Otherwise the Bistro restaurants always have their A-game on and I know this (I have reviewed India Bistro before) for a fact having been to their outlets frequently for any and every celebration!
Hoping to see their issues sorted!

Taste was good😊

Had ordered red Thai curry along with other items . The Thai curry was stale either due to Thai paste or coconut milk . The taste itself was telling that they used old powder or Thai paste . Rest all food was ok . Don’t expect restaurants to use old stuff
Vaibhav
Ordered Singapore Rice noodles but got delivered only noodles. And noodles were too thin and tasteless. I would like to rate it zero but have no option.
Darshan Parikh
Not happy with the service, cald restaurant personally& requested to give packets of chilli sauce , hot sauce, vinegar&schezwan, and d guy said we alws give with our food, but could not find any with my parcel...food was descent, but such carelessness can spoil whole mood for good food...

Taste was up to the mark but the only drawback was that it took an hours time for the delivery & also the dish was not hot.

Have been hearing some great reviews of this place - decided to give it a shot for a birthday celebration.
The menu looked tempting and seemed to be a good bet. Food served was good until they served us a chicken starter - undercooked and blood oozing out of the chicken.
Spoils my appetite immediately.
Also think the desserts could have been better.

Visited their Chembur outlet yesterday.Staff was very courteous and made us feel very comfortable.
Liked the food a lot specially Fire roasted Mandarin chicken which was simply outstanding.Chicken was soft and perfectly cooked. Also Had Diced chicken in chilli and ginger...though could have avoided that one.
In mains we had Veg Hakka noodles and Burnt garlic fried rice.It was good.

Wanted to try to some Asian cuisines so decided to give China Bistro a try. This place is huge and has walls painted with movie characters such as our stuffy hero from the movie kung fu 🐼. We ordered salmon Sushi and chicken pot noodles. Sushi was good but found pot noodles ok ok. Overall a good experience

Rating 3.5/5

The Food Auror(Naila Kazi)
We were dining at China Bistro to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The ambiance was really cool and the place was all lit up. Right at the entrance was the Chinese offering to God to celebrate New year.

Service is a high point of China Bistro. Everyone in the staff right from their servers to their Manager themself was extremely courteous and ensured that we had a great time. Kudos to the staff for their service. Special mention of Mr. Sanjeev who was around ensuring we had a great time.

They have a special Chinese New Year menu and it has a tonne of starters, main course, meals and dessert. Here’s what we tried:

1. Ming Ling Spicy Barbeque Fish - this was fresh pieces of basa fish basted in a really great sweet and spicy sauce.

2. Phoenix Tailed Prawns in Bird’s Nest - really fresh butterfly prawns which was coated in a light batter with Sesame and ginger and deep fried. This was served with a sweet sauce which was really great.

3. Prawns Otak Otak - this was an extremely flavourful, thick gravy which had lots of prawns and was a creamy gravy. The gravy was loaded with kaffir lime and was wonderful.

4. Kung Pao Fish Pot - the dish had prawn crackers, fried ginger, fried shallots and peanuts along with a Kung Pao gravy and some sticky rice. Really loved the meal.

5. Moon came - I’ve been craving the mooncake for the last six months since I’ve been back from Vietnam. The mooncake was dense and heavy and just perfect.

6. Chocolate Tsunami - this is the most brilliant chocolate dish that I have ever tried. There was a well loaded with mousse, pastry, chocolate and then some liquid chocolate was dropped over it.

The food was more than brilliant, we really enjoyed it to the core along with the ambiance and the service. Would definitely want to come back.

The arrival of christmas brings with it some of really exciting comfort dishes, and China Bistro shows their festive spirit with a special menu designed for this jovial occasion.

This outlet is located at sion trombay road at chembur in oasis vicinity. The restaurant offers a spacious ambience with furnished decor that gives luxurious vibe to the place. The chinese artifacts and paintings hung over walls express the asian look of the place complimenting the cuisines here.

The menu here is quite expansive in Asian and oriental cuisines that majorly includes Thai, Korean and Chinese dishes. These asian cooking methods are implemented in the newly launched christmas menu, that mainly focuses on delicious variations in duck and turkey meats, with a taste that tends to be more on the sweeter side.

For the starters Cilantro Duck Pancake, are actually a spring roll variety with filling of duck meat sautéed in a sweetish appetizing mixture, pretty decent to have. Turkey tod prik pon, bite size turkey pieces tossed in onion, garlic and chillis that will spice up your umami leaving a tempting after taste that will make you call more for more.

Clay Pot Roasted Duck in Rambutan Curry for main courses is a little too sweet in taste with flavours of rambutan, a lychee like fruit. The curry is aromatic with lemongrass infused with vibrant appetizing flavours. The combination surely makes this worth a try.

Crispy noodles with duck and poo choi is one surely not to be missed out on, unlike the rest this one has a hot and spicy flavour of black bean sauce. The crisp noodles on top give a nice crunch to this making the dish appetizing.

Turkey Green Fried Rice, isn't your your regular thai green curry, the gravy in which the sticky rice is cooked has sweet taste to it with a hot aftertaste making things quite exciting, turkey meat really tender to taste.

The desserts here are something not to be missed upon, the Buddha's Fu has a really pleasing table side presentation with caramel sauce topped over mango putting and sprikled with coffee powder from a gong. The flavour of mango is very fresh and tastes just like having mango pulp.

Chocolate Tsunami is aan overload of chocolate that will definitely give you a sugar rush after having that, the thick chocolate mousse filled with nuts is poured over with rich chocolate sauce. This alone is enough to get to filled up.

The overall contrast in flavours on the Christmas menu isn't much woth every dish having a sweet flavour in it, but apart from there is varying aromatic flavours in each to keep you delighted
Jay Nakrani
It was overall a nice experience. I didn't found the food much spicy. Mostly food was having sweet and sour taste. The person who specifically likes spicy food have to mention it properly. Ambience is great.

Had went before to China Bistro to try their buffet out,but this time i decided to go bcz they had kept special duck and turkey dishes till new year.
They had a vast variety of dishes which had all duck and turkey dishes
Dishes from the menu which i tried where
Duck soup.
Starters(duck pancake and turkey tod prio pin)
Mains-1.(clay pot roasted duck rambutan curry-the gravy was creamy and was going well with rice)
2.Roasted turkey with vegetable pok choi-perfectly roasted with brown sauce
3.Turkey green fried rice-must try
After having all this had little space for dessert so ordered chocolate tsunami,as the name say it was a big chocolate lava cake
The chef Mahindra himself came and was asking about the taste and food which was a nice gesture.

Overall it was a great good experience but i was little bit disappointed with the service it was very very slow.

Food-4.5/5
Ambience-5/5
Service-2.5/5

The serving staff were amazing with instructions and kind with their suggestions. Had vegetarian fare like veg crispy, momos, vegetables in hunan sauce, thai green curry & steamed rice. Enjoyed eating all of them. Special mention to the staff who captured when we casually mentioned it was my mother's birthday. In the end, they brought a brownie with vanilla ice cream as a bday treat which was totally unexpected. They also did a mini performance along with it which was a fantastic gesture. Im definitely recommending this lovely place
Foodie Boi Abhinav
This place serves good food, buffet system option here is very pocket friendly. This place is perfect for brunch if you want to try some Chinese food. They don’t serve the authentic earthy chinese but more of Indo-Chinese(Desi Chinese) type food which is tasteful and delectable. They have a lot of variety in their buffet system which is again a plus point for those who are choosy and particular about what they want to eat. Good Ambience with decent crowd but also cacophony. Recommended for Brunch and opting for buffet system as the price per dish in alacarte is expensive comparitively.

Dipti Shringare
The place is absolutely great and refreshing. It is specially for chinese lover as name says china bistro which is fully buffet as you can enjoy each and every menu. I might suggest you to go for ofcourse non-veg chinese section which gives you variety to have in whereas veg chinese may has more sweets rather than maincousres or starters which will may disappoints vegetarians. Also you will gets varieties in ice-creams and sweets which non-vegeterians can have there. Whereas ambience is quite high and rich. Must visit once with family or friends.

A perfect place for a quiet time with your loved ones. I have been here 8-9 times and my family loves coming here for family lunches because it has it all. The minute you enter you're seated by there amazing staff. You are offered a welcome drink and given there menu. They ideally have 4-5 starters, 4-5 main course in which the rice/noodles are veg, and a whole range of desserts. They have a salad counter. The place is quiet authentic and I personally love their BBQ chicken wings, and chicken dumplings. In dessert I am a fan of Darshaan and some caramel custard. This place is a perfect lunch place and you really don't need to think twice before coming here.

China Bistro located in oasis premises at Chembur Deonar highway is a fabulous place serving authentic Chinese food from years now. It has been a first choice for most of family dinners and get together for all Chinese food lovers. I recently learnt about their dumpling and baos festival that they are hosting currently and couldn't resist to try the rarely found authentic dumplings. Although I was never a bao lover but the other day my visit to china bistro changed the interest for baos.

Starting with their dumplings, they have good menu with 3 veg and 3 non veg dumplings to select from. We stared with edamame truffle from their veg dumpling which came with good portion of 6 pieces. The dumpling were perfectly steamed and very soft with veggies filled in edamame paste. From the non veg dumpling I chose for chicken pok choi sui mai and I experienced how dumplings must be made in China. It was chicken filled and wrapped with pok Choi leaf which I had for first time and tasted too yum. Also tried the Shangai chicken dimsum which was heavily stuffed with minced chicken and was indeed filling while giving a good hit for taste buds. I was a bit hesitant on trying bao knowing I don't Share love for them and hence only otder for one jackfruit bao between 2. The 3 pieces of bao that was delivered looked very tempting for its filling. With the first bite itself I realized the baos are super fresh with superiors bread quality that was very soft. The small pieces of jackfruit were tossed in hoisin chilli sauce and were one of my favorite here after having a few bites.

With a little space left to try out more food items we went for sautéed veggies which had zucchini, babycorn, brocolli and mushroom sautéed in ginger chilli sauce. It gave real feel of chilli and were a good try.

Desserts : After a scrumptious meal we dint have place for dessert but the server highly recommended to try their Buddha's fu which is one of their signature dish originated from China. It looked fancy and tempting with mango pudding. Alongside was a conch shell filled with caramel sauce that goes on top of pudding and had choclate powder filled in a ringing bell. It was beautiful looking dessert plate that even tasted yum.

Chocolate tsunami is another highly recommended dessert here which had a choclate brownie that's topped with hot choclate sauce. The melting brownie with hot choclate sauce was a lovely bite.

The hospitality here was great. The server snd manager really guided us nice to pick the best from the best. Don't miss out on their dimsum and bao festival.

The Sunday lunch buffet was full paisa Vasool with 6 non veg n 6 veg starter and absolutely yummmy. The service was initially little slow as it was jam packed when we came but later it became much better and our waiter INDRA was extremely sweet and polite n made sure we had each and every starter on the menu.. overall a great experience.

Had been to China Bistro at Shivaji Park which apparently has now been shut and so happened to visit last night to the one located at Chembur / Deonar Junction, Well, I think the best part of last night was we were crowd of 14-16 people and the place was quite empty with the staff totally at our service. While my personal favourite is Mainland China, China Bistro has decently ranked number 2 on my list with its subtle ambience, quick service, mandatory birthday singsong celebration, delectable cuisine, staff that would go out of their way to make your day special with their apt-never go wrong recommendations, this place sums up to be must visit as per me.

#honestreviewsonly

Recommendations:

Veg:
Veg chives dumpling
Veg spring rolls
Thai green curry
Non-veg:
Chicken basil dumplings
Mao's favorite chicken
Egg fried rice

Avoid:
One pot meals
Lamb appetizer

China Bistro is a good place for family dinners and weekend buffets. Yep it can get noisy and crowded on weekends. But the food is overall pretty good and the service is quick and helpful. Do try their dumplings and Mao's favorite chicken in mains, delightful! The one pot meals are avoidable as the rice/noodles in it are too bland.

Many of my friends suggested me to visit China Bistro because of the variety of options they provide in their lunch buffet. All the starters were freshly prepared and were good to taste. The scope of improvement that I think is that there is not much variety for Starters in the veg Buffet as the people who wish to have the non veg buffet can also have the starters from the veg buffet.

Veg Buffet Food Items

Starters

Tomato Soup-It was freshly made and had a blend of flavours. It consisted of small pieces of tofu and some parsley

Vegetable Wontons-They were freshly served directly from the kitchen but the only thing that bothered me that the filling was not that great

Oregano French Fries-They were great to taste but I think there should have been something else instead of serving Frech fries when a person is paying around ₹520+Tax

Vegetable Dumplings-They were great but had a generic taste rather than some spice or a blend of different flavours

Main Course

Vegetables in Garlic Sauce-It was good to taste, bit spicy and not warm enough

Vegetable Fried Rice-They were quite fresh and good to taste.

Noodles-The noodles were good but if were to compare it with the noodles at any other place then I would say that I have had better kind of noodles elsewhere

Manchurian Patty in gravy-It had a great taste but was not warm enough.Compared to the starters I expected the main course dishes to be warm too but sadly they weren't.

Tofu in Garlic Sauce-It was good to taste and a bit spicy

Vegetable Sushi-If you are a vegan and still want to try sushi,go for it.It consisted of vegetable fillings like carrot and beetroot

Desserts

1.Brownie-There were small brownie pieces which also had some nuts. There was an option for people to dip the brownie into the hot chocolate fountain. In all the brownie tasted good with the hot chocolate

2.Custard Cake Pudding-The presentation was so attractive that one could not resist to not take the Custard Cake Pudding. It had a great taste but there could be an improvement in terms of the quantity served

3.Darsaan-It was a bit cold and not much sweet. The presentation was not that good. So,there can be an improvement as I could see people were preferring other desserts rather than Darsaan

4.Custom Sundae-There was an option for everyone to prepare their own sundae with any toppings they wanted. There were three ice cream options available -Vanilla,Strawberry and Chocolate. The toppings had options like Chocolate and Vanilla Chips, strawberry jelly and nuts

My Report Card

Taste-4.3/5.0

Service-4.5/5.0

Ambience-4.5/5.0

Hygiene-5.0/5.0

Value for Money-4.8/5.0

Overall-4.3/5.0

Yummers! Everything was just so yummy. After my meal, I was knocked into a food coma. The appetizers must be sprinkled with crack because I just craved for more and more. Everything I tried was bursting with flavor. I'm definitely coming back for more!
