Nice little place in Lokhandwala which is brimmed with customers most of the times. There can be waiting so be a little prepared that way. The seating and ambiance is basic and decent, nothing too fancy. We had fried prawns and tandoori pomfret with roomali roti. I personally liked their prawns which were a perfect starter. Tandoori pomfret was cooked really well. Would like to visit again for some other dishes. Good place if you're coming just for the food.
Craving for north Indian food while in lokhandwala? J.J express is the best answer to your cravings. With an outer open air seating and inside seating it accommodates good number of people. Their north Indian specialities that I could try were chicken tandoori and butter chicken. Chicken tandoori was superb with its real nice marination and the butter chicken which came with bones amazed us with its taste and flavors. It tasted best with butter Rumali roti. Desserts can be better

Jai Jawan Bandra is very famous for its non veg food. I had never had the opportunity to try the food there even after being in the same vicinity.
Didn't know they have a branch in Andheri, so while browsing through Zomato for dinner places, came across this and decided to visit.
It was a very casual meet between me and bestie. After some catching up over coffee, we decided to go here for our dinner.
There is valet parking here, which is the best part.
They have an outside and inside seating both. We were sitting outside and there were fans too so was not feeling hot.
What we ordered..
Tandoori Chicken - After a long time I have enjoyed Tandoori Chicken. Properly cooked chicken, perfect tandoor flavor. But I found the chicken was not marinated well. There was less masala on the inside. So once the outer layer was done eating, the inside layer felt very bland.

Butter Chicken - Love, love, love the butter chicken here. Soft pieces of chicken in creamy, buttery gravy. Just perfect. Had it with Butter Roomali Roti and I was in butter chicken heaven.
Caramel Custard - Soft, caramel custard, very fresh. Loved it.
Matka Rabdi - Very creamy, very very tasty. Amazing.
This is my favorite place now for butter chicken. Been craving it all the time.
Tandoori chicken, Fish fry and prawns fry are the best options to have in JJ. These are possibly crudely delicious with good portions. I would bet on the tandoori chicken to be the best in Mumbai.

My favourite place when you are budget constrained. I'm a hard core non vegetarian but I would still recommend this place for it's perfectly cooked mouth watering paneer tikka. The paneer is so fresh n soft melts in your mouth, flavours are balanced and is a perfect starter.
One of the amazinggg range of tikkas can be tried here , Soo yummm and delicious , best Tikka to try here is Banjara Tikka it's spicy and very mouth melting , I often order from here and love their food also the seekh kebabs are awesome must try...

I am quite regular at this place.. and it is one of my favourite butter chicken restaurant.
My regular order here is
1. Tandoori fish : the masala is tasty and the fish just melts in your mouth. The best fish I have had.
2. butter chicken : being from Delhi I was not able to find good butter chicken in Mumbai until I discovered this place. I won't say it is just like Delhi's butter chicken but I can surely say that what they serve has its own taste and is close to what I was looking for ..
And
3. fried prawns.. honestly I had prawns for the first time from JJ and fell in love with it.. it is fresh and crispy . Simply love it.

Good Punjabi food in Mumbai. While my trip to Mumbai. I din't miss the Delhi food when I went to this place. Very tasty food at affordable rates. I would suggest to try the butter chicken and the fried fish and prawns.

J.J Express is one of the most famous restaurants in Lokhandwala.It has two branches over there.This restaurant is mostly known for this Prawns, Paneer Tikka, Dal Makhani, Prawns Biryani, Butter Chicken.
We ordered Prawns for starters and it was super yummy and the size and quantity of the prawns was also amazing.Secondly we ordered Paneer Tikka,like just look at the size people of Paneer it was very yummy and creamy.
For main course we had Prawns Biryani and it was mouthwatering.😍
The food here is absolutely delicious. The prawns koliwada is a must have. I also tried the chicken bajara which succulent. The rotis were fresh and I asked for butter garlic nan which went absolutely well with the chicken gravy. The service was quick and nice. They have basic desserts that they offer as well out of which the caramel custard was yummy. It was quite crowded because i went during the weekend but the place is a food paradise.

A small street food outlet located just before the main Lokhandwala market in Andheri. Its serves Veg & Non-veg.
They've been doing some good fish dishes for a very long time.
One has to be ready to wait for getting served. The orders are prepaid and the outlet always has crowd waiting to be served. The outlet doesn't have a proper seating place to eat so mostly people park the cars outside the outlet and there is always a server for the cars.
I have always liked the Tandoori chicken, Amritsari Fried fish ( Rawas or Surmai) and the most soft and succulent Mutton sheekh kebab.
The prices feel little on higher side given the outlet is mostly take away.
Everything here is really good with the taste/quality being consistently maintained.
Overall for some good indian tandoori items, this place is must visit.

My non-veg friends went crazy over the menu. The prawns and fish are better than the chicken preparations. Quantity is quite decent for the price. Weekends do see a lot of waiting, so you'll get a place if you walk in by 830.

They have another outlet which is near my office, we just randomly visited it when we went to Lokhandwala. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a fantastic place. The food was just awesome. Tandoori Chicken was just wow 😋😍. Since then, we have visited this place multiple times, and it has never disappointed us. They have recently opened up a new branch, which we also visited recently, which serves same quality of food. On our recent visit, we had dal makhani and paneer makhani and it was super delicious 🤤. Even now they have managed to retain their taste all the way long for many years now. Definitely recommended to try whenever a person visits nearby.

We have taken parcel number of times but never written a review though... Today we ordered Murg malai tikka and chicken tikka masala... Both the dishes were great in flavours and up to the mark..I just felt the malai tikka should have been cooked a bit more.... But again that is a personal choice...

Well I’ve always been a fan of Jai jawan at bandra linking road .. n specially their prawns fry.. although i reside close to the lokh branch had never tried this outlet .. today tried their all time famous Punjabi prawns fry and its awesome, their taste hasn’t changed over the years and for good . Prawns were big in size and decent for the price of INR 425 for pav kilo..:p service very prompt n within minutes its fried in front u n packed , done. Their chutney however was kind off bland wish they could make some change’s there .. final verdict “definately yes” for the prawns and will try other things on the menu ..
This place has been a family favourite with us for long , earlier in the street side version and now in the posh sit down shop , with at least one visit every month . Not much to talk about the ambiance ect , regular cramped space with basic indoor and outdoor seating , impersonal but prompt and efficient service inspite of being very busy normally , reasonable prices , reasonable hygiene standards , actually for an establishment in its class , above average hygienic ,
so what is all the fuss about ? Well the hero here is their delicious food , specially the fish and prawn fry , which we order by the weight and amongst the best tandoori rotis and paranthas one can get in Mumbai , in addition to the above they do nice kababs and curries too not forgetting there wonderful paneer .

Jai jawan has been around for ages now and we’ve all feasted on the tangadi and pao kilo prawns/fish. The only problem was the location. If u thought that Bandra was far like me, then let ur tummy rejoice cause JJ is now in andheri West. Sit outside or in the Ac, this is a cozy little place serving ur fav Indian cuisine. We stuck to the populars..fried prawns, chicken tandoori and chicken tikka masala. Everything was top notch but the tikka masala which was umm average. Excellent food..excellent value. Highly recommended!!

Authentic punjabi tandoori food. Now two branches and I guess originally from Bandra Linking Road. Tried and tested for decades now. Koliwada fish and prawns are time tested. However fish nowadays has been replaced with Basa from earlier Rawas, which was far better. I guess cheaper Basa available all seasons is the reason.
I’m not a big fan of street food or food which is dripping in oil but when the taste is THIS good, I tend to forget about everything else - Try the fish fry & the prawn fry, it is delicious!
PS - I suggest you eat it at the restaurant itself, ordering it at home will make the fish soggy, and will thus ruin the experience and taste

I heard a lot about this place and my friend is a die hard fan of J j express food. Well i tried the famous chicken tikka biryani which was really good. The taste was as par and really liked the way they have sent the food. I will rate 4/5 for biryani.
Very tasty n yum seafood is wt u searching fr so dan definately try this jai jawan aka jj express cz of its grt taste n quality served d hav always rush at d outlet so d waiting tym is much bt trust me d wait is realllllyyy worth it happy customer😁

Curly Tales has highly recommended this joint for VFM and yum factor. They have branches at Linking Road and Khar. I preferred the andheri one [closer to home and Metro ;-) ] Visited this joint over the weekend and was surprised to find it deserted (maybe I was too early for dinner!!) @ 8 pm. They accept cash and cards. Service is fast and efficient. Waiters are extremely polite and card swiping is done at your table. It's a simple non-fussy joint with outdoor seating. Indoor section is air-conditioned. I chose to be seated inside. Ordered the fish fry and prawns fry and wasn't disappointed. The serving and charges are as per kilo. So for a single person, I ordered 250 gms fish fry and prawns which came to about 5 pieces of fish fry and 15 pieces of prawns half of which I requested as takeaway parcel.
Pieces were succulent, delicious with just the right mix of spices. For someone who doesn't prefer spicy food, it tasted just right. The chutney was unexpectedly green-grayish. The waiter explained it as imli chutney with probably ginger-garlic-green-chillies paste. It was tasty but being more habituated with the green chutney, I skipped it after the initial tasting. Meal charge was Rs.765/- (fish fry, prawns fry and thums up can). Surprisingly no GST or Service Charge.
Have tried the takeaway and personally visited this outlet. I would not recommend the takeaway. The packaging is shabby and the tandoori chicken lost all its flavours and had turned cold. I hope the management takes a note of it. Have tried tikkas, chicken biryani and tandoori chicken (on an earlier occasion) Would highly recommend sampling the food at the outlet itself. You won't be disappointed.

Street side great tasting, outdoor seating our sit in your car. Fast and prompt service! Fish pakoras are amazing but a lill steep. Tandoori chicken is good. Paranthas are yum. Their gravy items are finger licking. If your watching calories not the place for you but if you want to have greasy yum food! The green chanti is awesome 😎

Its open space so you do not place to sit comfortably rather than sitting in your car and having the food!!

There are many things you can get here but it depends on what time you come because there are chances they might don't have the required food, so be prepared!!

BUTTER CHICKEN was very nice has the tomato puree flavor in it and it was not that spicy which gives it a buttery flavor!!
The tandoori chicken was soft from inside and nice grilled as you can taste the flavor and smell the tandoor in the gravy!!
MUTTON SEEKH KEBAB was good as it was nice marinated but not that great you can much tastier in various other shops!!
DAL MAKHANI was nice and has a combination of all the spices which makes the dish awesome!!
PRAWNS FRY is also a dish which you can try it was nice but as compared to the price the quantity was little less for me but the size of the fish was very big so might come up with little less satisfaction!!

Heard a lot about this place from my friends so I decided to try it. And I wasn't disappointed. For starters we tried Chicken Banjara and Chicken Reshmi kebabs, along with Chicken Tikka, Prawns Fry and Mutton Seekh kebab. Everything was really tasty, though I had more expectations from the prawns. The green chutney that they serve is actually what enhances the taste of the protein. We ordered Butter Chicken with naan and Chicken Biryani for the main course. Both these dishes were good, but I've had better at the same price. My favorite of all the dishes was fish (basa) fry. The fish was really fresh and well cooked.
JJ Express is a street food joint near Lokhandwala circle with no seating arrangement. If you don't want to stand and eat at the crowded area, you can bring your car and eat inside it, as most of the people do. If you are a pure vegetarian, I'm sorry this place isn't for you. Quantity can be improved considering their price range. So is it worth going back? Definitely!
Ordered Butter chicken and mutton kheema and It was above my expectations very well cooked, Best North Indian food So far in Mumbai I ever Had, keep it up guys, just one suggestion ask for a boneless and a with bone curry option as I like chicken withbone but was given boneless by default.

Completely new in Mumbai and spotted this restaurant on my Swiggy app when I was staying in Andheri. Have had the Mutton Keema Masala and the Tandoori Chicken. Both of them were totally worth it. The Tandoori Chicken was one of the best I've had in a while. Special mention goes to the green chutney they serve with the chicken which I liked too. Would definitely order from them more.

It's a punjabi cuisine and the place is not a restaurant but a place where u park ur car take ur order and eat in ur car.
Food worth the amount u pay and the fish fries are sold in kgs and not as per 8 pieces in one plate like in usual restaurant. So this is if u go to see cheaper than u dine into a restaurant in a place like Andheri lokhandwala. Of course no sitting arrangement no ambience but who cares when the food is delicious

J.J express Aka Jai Jawan is one of the most commonly heard name from the foodies around Lokhandwala. We've been ordering from this place for years their banjara tikka, tandoori chicken, fish fry , prawn fry , butter chicken , dal makhani and laccha parathas. The taste has always been great. Also not to forget is their spicy green chutney that levels up their game.
Prices are on a bit higher side compared to other street side eateries. However considering the monopoly it enjoys in the area its justified.
Surely our go to place whenever we run out of food in our kitchen!

Bandra's famous street food joint (Jai Jawaan) for meat lovers finally opened an outlet in Andheri as JJ Express a while back. Quite close to home now. :)
Punjabi fish fry and prawns fry are heavenly with their trademark green chutney. Chicken tandoor items are good too. Butter Chicken with Naan is very filling. :)
Juicy freshly cooked chicken is a speciality of this place. You order is prepared right in front of you and the cooks also cater to your demands. Went for a chicken tandoori along with chicken tikka masala and a chicken biryani. Great quality food and definitely pocket friendly.

The best fish I've ever eaten! The fish is so soft that it literally melts in your mouth.. Go for their boneless fish fry (they serve rawas) with green chutney and onions you can team it up with a roomali roti. There is not much place to sit and because of the crowd the service gets a little slow! On weekends this place becomes a fish market in itself! But, the fish they serve steals the show and it takes away a 4.5 from me for that! The 0.5 less is for all the other drawbacks!
Ordered prawns and fish for an occasion on a very urgent basis and it turned out to be a terrific decision. Never expected it to deliver such a big order on short notice. The food was extraordinary, especially the prawns. Please open an outlet in Sakinaka too and add some more varieties in fish.

I still remember eating in there Bandra takeout joint with friends & still we are loyal customers of this place since last 15 years.this place is famous for there tandoori items.we often order chicken prawns biryani,prawns tandoori and chicken tandoori.the quality is maintained over many years.the taste & quantity of prawns biryani is good.the place is clean also the kitchen is maintaining good hygiene condition.highly recommended
This joint is famous for Fish & Prawns. This is now at same place where Jafar Bhai was there before. Fish & Prawns are really fresh always & yummy at taste. You may have just Prawns & Fish as your main course also. With Pudina chutney is super combination.
The Punjabi fish fry is always the star of the show for me here. Recently revisited this place after age and was pleased to find out the taste has remained the same. Other items are all good too, well at least decent enough, but the fish fry is something unique and high on taste and freshness that they offer.
Also loved their crispy flaky parathas. Veg lovers, note that the offer the softest, freshest paneer.
They serve really good chicken, mutton and fish. Even though it's on the street it is pretty clean. Service is good. It is a little expensive for street food but the taste and quality covers it. Awesome street food
Paneer tikka biryani is awesome... Must try...2 people can have.
Good Punjabi food in Mumbai. While my trip to Mumbai. I din't miss the Delhi food when I went to this place. Very tasty food at affordable rates. I would suggest to try the butter chicken and the fried fish and prawns.
We went for a family dinner here because everyone was in pyjamas and nobody wanted to dress up. Plus we were assured food will be good and service will be fast.
We ordered fish, prawns and chicken in various iterations and it was delicious. Sea food was fresh and free of any smells.
Chicken seekh kabab was dry, so that was tad disappointing.
The desserts were meh with chocolate mousse and custard not being served cold. At almost room temperature, they lost a lot of its effect. Chocolate brownie was again too dry.
Was the place worth the money spent - probably not considering 5 adults racked up a bill of 4500rs (900 per head) with hardly any decent seating capacity and mediocre non sea food items
Will we go there again - mostly yes, but for seafood items.
This place has always, always, always been my top favourite. They started off with a shop opp National College in Bandra decades ago and since then kept expanding. They serve one of the best prawn fry and rawas fish fry and so is chicken tandoori. The batter is outstanding with the freshness of the fish, unbeatable. Don't miss out the green chutney thats serve, it's so yummy that it can be eaten sole with the crispy onions served.🤤

This is my favourite place for north indian style kebabs. Their Tandoori fish, prawns and dal makhni is to die for. The portions are very filling and the prices are pretty reasonable for the quantity they serve and the service they provide.
