Review Stadium Restaurant - Mumbai

Vijay Saradhi Kuppili
A nice little restaurant with old charm and retro style. We had dinner there by chance and it was yummy. Mutton keema, chicken biryani and egg fried rice all of them are very tasty and economical as well. It's next to Church gate station. Service was super fast.

This restaurant is right outside Churchgate station. It has an old world charm. Food is good but there's scope for improvement in service and in the way they treat customers. Takes eternity to take the order. Waiters are not friendly and are not helpful with menu choices. Tried chicken cutlet with gravy, kheema pav, bun maska, bread pudding and tea. Tea was the typical Irani tea, rich and creamy. All the dishes were tasty. The restaurant seemed hygenic. Prices are on the higher side, justified because of the location. They accept only cash payment. No UPI.

Good place for Kheema Pav lovers! Service- prompt, but staff is quite senior hence expect bit delay in service. Atmosphere- Vintage table and chairs beneath fans in a huge hall kind of arrangement, "less is more with a touch of vintage charm" supper neat and clean. Things you may like. 1. Kheema pav 2. Paav bhaji- it was actually equally good as kheema pav was. 3. Chicken cheese pattie- soft, creamy and hot, and flavour full. 4. Caramel custard - supper authentic one 5. Mava cake We did not get pallonji. We did get Coca-Cola in a glass bottle. Kids friendly Senior citizen friendly Wheel chail - as it has small steps in entrance we have to life the wheen chair.

The most mind-blowing experience ever. Loved the visit and food and service at Stadium Restaurant. I am from Versova Andheri but had over the years heard of this quaint lovely place. Today had come to Colaba for some work and since my cooks were with me, we decided to try Stadium. Everything is so fresh omg. Mutton Keema is next level 5/5 Chicken Biryani superb and so fresh 4.5/5 Masala Bhurji 4/5, less oil, superb Bun Muska 5/5 (you can't be at an Irani and not have this right) Veg Biryani 4/5 fresh fresh Custard 5/5 Pav that comes w Keema 5/5 Onions that are served free 5/5 -- I don't get such fresh onions at my own home and I'm a foodie. Salaan Raita 5/5 - superb O we are visiting again for sure. Radhe the guy who served us, with so much love and happiness. awesome. Krishna or Trishna/ manager, what knowledge, what purpose on serving fresh food, hats off man. Met a lovely Parsi Irani uncle while leaving, owners friend who was so happy just over hearing our table praise food and service to Krishna. Recommend such lovely & quality places to all foodies. Lastly, we went there around 815 pm and it was almost full. Very surprised initially but convinced later on.. Tons of love! šŸ’œ

Bliss. No AC ( fresh Air), morning was not crowded, service with smiles, cheese masala Omlette made as suggested. No chasing you away. Have Tea, more tea. Look out of the window and see people rushing to catch a bus. Very near and clean place. Will definitely visit again 5 star is for the wonderful feeling inside.

Very basic atmosphere with non ac area, I tried mutton cutlet Which was ok ok tasted like some shredded chicken pieces mixed with mince mutton quoted with egg and pan fried served with tomato sauce May be other items better

Places like this make Mumbai, Mumbai. Truly an iconic place, yet pocket-friendly. Frequented by people from all classes - students as well as working professionals. I like their Bun Maska and Chai. There are enough options for the main course as well. Their staff is prompt and kind.
OP Manocha
Retro styled cafe. Loved the Bun Maska, egg bhurji and tea. Classy tables with glass top. Economical and tasty food. Just near Marine drive.

Randomly while walking I found this hidden gem šŸ™Œ it's a simple Irani restaurant which serves tasteful delicacies. I tried their... Kheema fry w pav - 5/5 Mawa cake - 5/5 Simple, calm ambience, good & quick service, pocket friendly - best place for those Irani food lovers like mešŸ˜ Would definitely recommend these and also mutton cutlet, bread pudding and other chicken dishes
Retro GOD
Found this gem of low key restaurant, offering decently priced menu at the heart of Marine drive. Soft succulent & delicious non-vegetarian food is just amazing. I had Mughlai Chicken with Chapati. Loved it :)

Good place to have tea and snacks near marine drive. Service is quick and staff is friendly. The price is also decent for the quantity and quality. The place is not that fancy like other nearby restaurants but its still has good ambience.

Stadium is very popular for its Kheema pav which is minced meat with flavorful indian spices to be had with pav which is buns. We tried Kheema Ghotala today which was a fusion of kheema with egg. It was delicious and filling for two people.
Siddhartha Sett
One of the oldest Irani Cafe with traditional food and great tea along with nice atmosphere. Chick and mutton cutlets are Wow...

This place will give you old Bombay feels. Its very clear that the quality and taste of the food is holding this place together.
I highly recommend the Irani chai, even for people who do not usually have chai. Its simply heavenly.
I also recommend the chicken manchow soup, mutton kheema, cheese masala omelette and the chicken biryani.

Located near the Churchgate this is quite an old establishment. Late evenings the place is relatively less patronized. We had Egg hakka noodles, egg burji and Veg Manchurian. The service is quick, people friendly and taste great. Most items are very reasonably priced.
Devendra Pai
Has lost much of its charm but the location of this place is very enticing. Located bang outside the Churchgate stn it is very accessible to get a feel of what a Irani cafe was like.

What to order

1. Omlette
2. Bus Maska
3. Brun Maska/Brun Paav (Kadak paav)
4. Irani Chai

Friendly on the pockets so don't worry about that
Sahil Dhure
Right outside Churchgate station you wouldn't miss a quaint looking restaurant while walking towards Marine Drive.
This Irani Cafe serves as delicious vegetarian dishes as it serves non vegetarian dishes.
Their Biryanis and Keema pav are a must try.
A pocket friendly restaurant too.
Food 8/10
Ambience 8/10
Service 10/10.

Hirak Deb
Conveniently located spacious restaurant well known among office goers of the area. Savoury of the day finish fast. Food is average but very well priced menu. Staff is polite and service reasonably fast. Billing is erratic, one needs to take care..
Saurabh Pednekar
Pathetic experience for such an well-known Irani joint. Ordered Chicken cutlet which was stale. Just microwaved and was served. Ordered Bun maska but he gave pav maska. TEA was good.

The Old Time Charm - Stadium Restaurant is one of my favourite place to visit when I go to Nariman Point!šŸ‘ŒšŸ½
We tried,
Chicken Manchow Soup - A warm soup is all we need in this weather, it was just like an average manchow soup that we have elsewhere!

Irani Chai - Have always been a fan of Irani Chai, they have maintained the taste throughout the yearsšŸ‘ŒšŸ½

Mutton Kheema Pav - This is a classic dish which you cannot miss if youā€™re eating at this place! The kheema is delicious, not too spicy, just the perfect taste!! They serve it with a half fried egg garnished over itšŸ˜

Chicken Masala Gravy - The texture of the gravy was lovely and the flavours were very subtle which made it taste like a proper Irani dish šŸ¤¤

Rice and Dal fry - Nothing better than ending your meal with traditional rice and dal! šŸ™ŒšŸ¼ The dal was really goodšŸ’•

A good place, with the vintage vibes of Irani Cafes of old BombayšŸ˜

The waiter need to change .. management should keep an eye on the service.. I had given my order and new customers order was ready before mine . The order was same bun maska and chai. The waiter are attracted to big crowd and big orders.

I liked the food when I visited this restaurant for the first time. On my second visit for a breakfast i ordered 1 chicken cutlet, chicken puff and a pav. I ordered one more pav and a puff to fill my stomach. I was almost done with my breakfast and i saw a worm on one of the plates. I thought for a minute, were there more worms before this one, did i eat any worm, etc. I immediately called the waiter and he hurriedly took my plate away. Thatā€™s when I realised how foolish i was to not record a video of this incident. I asked the waiter how did this worm end up in my plate for which the waiter didnā€™t have an answer. I knew it wasnā€™t his mistake so i let it go. I told about the worm to the main incharge/owner (the fair guy who sits on the main counter). I was shocked by his response. Let me repeat his words ā€œ keeda hi to hai! Aagaya hoga bahar se. hamne thodi apne marzi se daala hai. I hated him and his restaurant at the very moment. He didnā€™t even say a sorry for the carelessness. Atleast a genuine sorry would have worked out. Food of this restaurant is good but customer service is pathetic. I wish Recorded a video of this incident to prove the carelessness of this restaurant. Try not to visit this restaurant because the owner is least bothered about the health of his customers.

Food was amazing. Staff is very polite

I have lost count of the number of times I have been to marine drive but I always missed out on having a meal at this legendary restaurant.
Since I was here, sometime back, I made sure to try it out this time.
Stadium restaurant, opp to CCI is a typical parsi restaurant from the outside, wooden chairs, minimal interiors ,but the place is always buzzing.
I had always wanted to try the kheema pav so went ahead with it.
Although it's slightly expensive, this is surely something you cannot miss out at this place.
The kheema was spicy & so flavourful, never have I had kheema like this before.
Loved it so much.
The staff here is literally on its toes with excellent service.
The old world charm is what you will experience here without a doubt.
Bhavishya Shetty
One of the oldest restaurants in Mumbai!
Its spacious with decent set up, overlooking a busy road! Super close to Marine lines. Tried chicken dhansak and kheema Pav. Overall good food and hygienic!
Manoj
Stopped here for a snack on our way back to the Manchester airport. Had the boneless buffalo wings and potato skins appetizer and some French onion soup. Appetizer was very good...
Bhakti Acharya
Good mawa cake and kheema fry but expensive as compared to some other Irani cafes. They could try to organize it and keep it animal free but okay.
Anant Mane
Not place to be recommended no service rude management worst place will never recommend any one to visit being old restaurant need improvement in all areas tasty food can get customers but what about the service
Kaushal M Purohit
Stadium is one of the oldest surviving Irani type restaurant in Churchgate area.
I go there for the tea and their bread pudding is also very delicious. The decor is humble and typical old style.
Abhijit Biswas
Stadium was once the best places to go and eat in town. It's located right outside the churchgate station.

Now the food is bad, and extremely overpriced. It needs to go back to being the hood place it once was.
Manali Naik
A very old joint located nearby churchgate station it's 5 mins walking. They have some mouth watering breakfast and yes the Irani chai a must try when you visit. We ordered cheese omlette bun maska and chai ā˜•
Maria Mascarenhas
The food served here is extremely good and delicious. The prices are also very decent.
The place is clean and well maintained.
Only bad thing about the place is the attitude of the owner and waiters who speak rudely and donā€™t have any respect for their customers
1501aditya
Classic Farsi Bun Maska with Chai is a must have. Biryani was great
Chapatis were stale and dry though. Sabjj gravys were generic and tasting all the same between dishes
Gaurav Ghanekar
A typical retro Persian restaurant with authentic food and ambience. Go try some Kheema Pav along with some pudding or caramel custurd. A cool place to hangout with friends but the owner is little strict with idleness on table šŸ˜. The food is tasty and cheap especially when compared to the locality of churchgate.
Amar Godbole
This is very popular place near churchgate station.. tea is good.. food is nice.. 80s or 90s types ambience is still maintained which is a good thing.. only thing is no card or wallet payment accepted which is a big let down..
Naina Acharya
A place i always heard of and wanted to visit. Close to the churchgate stadium this place is cool. We had the kheema pao here and it was amazing. The tea was also amazing.
Food - 4/4
Service - 3/5
Value for money - 3.5/5
AFoodie
Old pocket friendly Irani Restaurant and still going strong situated beside Churchgate Station and opposite of Asiatic.
Eating here since ages and every time get fresh quality food with filling quantity.
Highly recommended
Sujit Keshkamat
Authentic, spacious, non A/c, range of irani dishes, old world charm & decor, good quantity portions, value for money, quick delivery. Could inprove hygiene & alert staff
Nikhil Wagle
Nice place to catch up keema pav , custard , tea and bun maska. Very close to churchgate station. The restaurant is legendary . Remember to carry cash as they don't accept any other mode of payments.
From the looks of it you can easily say that this one is an old Irani restaurant and yes it was.
During our long drive night when exploring Mumbai, just when we reached near marine drive we were hungry and came across this restaurant just opposite to our parking lot. We had our dinner plans set but just for quick bites we gave this place a visit.
We wanted to try bun maska and other breakfast items, but sadly we were told that these item are strictly breakfast items and are not available post 8pm.
So we settled for regular Chinese as it would be served really quick to satisfy the urgent hunger pangs.
We ordered for veg fried rice and chicken hakka noodles. Fried rice with veggies was lil dry but Hakka noodles was decent not dry at all and with thinly chopped veggies and shredded chicken.
We glanced through the surrounding tables and anda bhurji was commonly found, so we tried that too. As instructed the bhurji was spicy filled with finely chopped green chillies and generous amount of oil.

Will surely be back to try out the specials like dhansak and kheema

A good restaurant with no frills. Quality non veg food. Near church gate station which I missed many times when I was near by. The cutlet was fresh n yummy. The custard was good but better presentation needed. Will visit again to taste other items
Mehul Kulkarni
Wow.... Amazing food. I ordered non veg thali. It was every food was tasty and yummy. A thali introduce a roti dal 2 sabji pickle rice and papad. 2 sabji i.e one was chicken and egg masala was really yummy n hot too. Talking about dal was bit bitter because lots amount of ginger. Overall was really nice and old typical irani cafe or restaurant. Must visit.

First of all.
The rating if was only for food then I'd have given it 4 but since the rating has to be based on overall experience it is 3.
I visited this Today for lunch and the sole purpose was to taste DHANSAK , having heard so much about it being a good tasty Parsi dish.
Now about the Dhansak , the taste was quite good. Liked it and the quantity was outstanding. Enough for one person lunch. Server with a full plate of their rice and can also be eaten with pav.

Seems a deserted place but has been around for more than 35 years and is one parsi place which doesn't deserve to shutdown :)
Aishwarya Shrikhande
Travelled from a far off place to just sip the stadium wali "Chai". Completely loved the chai along with the bun maska.

The vibes of the restaurant is very calm and composed. It perfectly blends with the chai mood. Also, the interiors are the age old tables which keep alive the rustic Mumbai vibes.

MUST HAVE:
āœ…CHAI
āœ…CHAI
āœ…CHAI
āœ…CHAI
Affan Ahmad Aligarian
Old School kinda feeling. Just like you see in old movies. Paav kheema is must try !!

Located right across churchgate Station, its a delight to have food here. Service is a little slow and no AC does affect during lunch, but that is all blown away when the food arrives at the table.
Divyang Limbachiya
Reminds of all the words and phrases used for the parsi food and interiors being subjected towards the culture of Irani Cafes,
Near by Churchgate station,
The tea and bhurji pav were amazing,
Chicken Biryani was bit sweet but tasty
Ambience:- 3/5
Food:- 5/5
Management:- 3/5
Location:- 5/5
Chetan
Veg options are very limited. We ordered Panner masala fry and mix veg, both were below average. Chappatis were very thick and dry. And veg Pulav was OK.

Stadium Restuarant is situated right in the heart of #mumbai..

The dishes that they serve here is more influenced with Parsi style..

Their USP is Dhansag, Chicken Biryani, Mutton Kheema Tava Fry And Caramal Custard..

The place is a bit pricy in compare to quantity..
Tho the Quality is extremely good..

Its got this Vintage look ambiance.. Thats not been changed from ages and thats their best part that they serve something authentic in this Hustle bustle city of #mumbai..

Must Visit..
Gaur
This is THE place for your ā€œon the goā€ chai, bus maska, bread omelette and more.. anyone ever been to churchgate station wouldnā€™t miss this place. Amongst the classy restaurants on VN road, this place conserves its charm with simplicity and great taste.
No flashy ambience, no decors to flaunt, no cozy seats yet the best place to get the real feel of the buzzing crowd and hustle bustle of Churchgate @AmchiMumbai
3 stars for its consistent and humble service to everyone over so many years
Sahil Tripathi
I had a horrible experience in this restaurant. I had been visiting this place quite frequently because it is opened early in the morning and there is hardly any other option nearby. Generally the staff is very careless and rude but doesn't matter if you just wanna have a cup of tea with a sandwich.

I ordered a cheese omelette and they served Cheese omelette with cheese just thrown over the omelette. Nowhere have I ever had such kind of cheese omelette. I complained and asked them why is it like that. But the Irony is from Chef to waiter to the guy sitting on the counter, everyone was so reluctant to even talk and said this is the way we serve in a rudest manner. Forget about the food but they don't even have the courtesy to listen to the customer who regularly visits them.

Even if you serve this way at least cheese should be melted and grated not hard and randomly thrown.

I have never had such a terrible service anywhere. Even a roadside food stall serving cheapest omelette has a basic courtesy and politeness to atleast listen to the customer. 110 RS for such kind of omelette and service is a total waste. Please don't waste money here.

I think this was the last time I visited them. Not anymore.

PS- They only take cash and it is written on the walls in the restaurant. Wow!
Varun Poduval
An old fashioned Irani cafe right next to Vodafone store near Churchgate station with the same old chairs and tables brings back old memories. It's traditional and the ambience needs to be like that to maintain the authentic look of the 60's and 70's.

The food is pretty expensive for the quantity they provide. The food tastes decent overall but nothing too good to point out.

We had many dishes like Chicken Afghani with Chapatis, Cheese sandwich, Pav Bhaji and Omelet Pav but the dish of the day was the egg bhurji it was perfectly spiced and scrambled. A must try I must say out of all the other average dishes.

Ended on a high with caramel custard. I must say not the best looking one but taste was smooth and perfectly sweet. Liked this one.

So on a whole tradition and age old food still persists. With modern day Irani restaurants coming to the fore these restaurants need to increase the taste and love factor rest is in their favour. I must say it's worth a try. But you may or may not be satisfied as I left from the Stadium. It's a good place to be to chill.

Till then Bon Appetit!!
Lokesh Tardalkar
Reccommended for Parsi delicacies , Best spot to grab quick Brin maska and Tea.
Good on quantity , Slightly high on price as compare to quality.

Good choice on weekend
Shravani Bhosale
So I had been to this restaurant cum cafeteria yesterday.. This place is one of the oldest place in Mumbai and just outside the Churchgate station which is very convenient.
Well talking about the ambience, it's just has few of old Mumbai picture frames around the wall.
Coming to the food this time for a vhange I tried the thali. It was just tasty though the variety was very limited but worth the price paid. And also the caramel custard which literally tasted like a typical parsi desert.
If you are a parsi food lover, then you must seriously visit this place if you haven't. #happyfoodhere

This place runs on legacy. Located opposite the western side of Churchgate station, it has a rich heritage which it encashes everyday. Ambience is that one old Parsi places. Service is homely. Food isn't their strength.
Amol
Fantastic kheema pau. Even better that they serve this for breakfast!
So good I ended up ordering seconds to take away!
Ambience etc is a bit dull and cheap, but thatā€™s fine when you want a quick and good meal.
Pratyusha Kapadia
This is just around the corner while walking toward marine drive from Churchgate station. Food is decent. Service is prompt. I tried keema with pav and the grilled chicken sandwich with their special tea
Vishal Chettiyar
A Really good place . . . Pocket friendly . . .food is totally worth the money . . . quantity is good
Service is fast . .
Looks decent . .
Loved the biryani . . .just found it a bit salty . . .but still really great !
Asit Tewari
Heard quiet a lot about this place and went for a late lunch. Ordered kheema hhotala, egg bhurji and pav bhaji & topped it with bread pudding. I really like parsi food. This place did not disappoint.. i liked it and will ho again...
Hungry Soul
One of the oldest places, hence you shall always find it crowded. This is a typical old parsee restaurant with basic ambiance.
Great for a quick, cheap breakfast or snack although less options for vegetarians.
The prices are reasonable. The best is to have kheema pav, bun maska and tea it will not be a let down. I also had Daal chicken with paav which was equally delicious.
Staff is courteous and food was served quickly despite 4 other tables around us ordered at the same time.
Arka Bhattacharya
Stands out with its old school charm and surprisingly lip smacking kheema dishes.
Tried the Kheema cutlet with gravy.
Didn't look very promising when it arrived. But boy, it was tasty!
Eventually it became finger licking good. Will definitely visit again to try other dishes.
Meghana Jadhav
I love this place. It has that typical old-school feel to it. Regular Irani menu. I come here for the nostalgia and their chai. Honestly haven't tried much from their menu except for chai, muska pav and kheema pav.
Jimmy Daruwalla
Quick service!

The food on the other hand was disappointing. Their mutton biryani is basically pulav, masala and boiled mutton.

The chicken biryani was alright.
Akash Kapoor
Nostalgia. Kheema Pav, Omelette Pav, Dal Fry, Bun Maska, Brun Maska. My office is nearby and I just cannot resist this place. Good food and the same old ambience. Must visit.
Thehungryhuman (Mahima Wadhwani)
Chicken biryani at Stadium restaurant, Churchgate. šŸ—
Well cooked chicken biryani is served along with raita. The biryani is filling and good in taste. We also highly recommend their bun maskas. šŸ„–
One of the oldest Parsi restaurants in town, situated right opposite Churchgate station. The service is quick and the place is pocket friendly. āš”

Used to be very good but quality of food has dropped. Filter coffee and bun maska is still very very good. Avoid the restaurant in the monsoons.
Below par place - dirty kitchen and a very rude owner . The place is just running on its vintage . Food quality is bad . You hardly get hot food there . Given a chance wud never wanna try again .

Visited this place on Saturday evening with family for some snacks and tea. The restaurant is located at a very prime area, spacious and by looking the restaurant you might feel although it looks little old but clean would serve you decent dishes. By the look and feel of restaurant we stepped inside. While we were with a small kid he wanted to have fries which was not mentioned in menu so if they don't serve that is understood. But they had mentioned mawa cake, bun maska as a part of menu while asking we understand they were out of stock for that as well. We decided to play safe by ordering vegetable sandwich and chesse omlette sandwich and for our little one bread jam. Out of all jam bread was good, other two items looked very bland and tasteless too. Before ordering tea we even thought to give it a try to brun maska which was ok with tea but tea was below average. Not sure if our timing was bad to visit the place or dishes we ordered were wrong for place, but we didn't have a good snack time surely.

Value for money-not at all
SUKRUT MHATRE
I have been visiting this place for more than 5-6 years now , although I only restrict my self to having Kheema Pav all the time along with tea occasionally I have boiled egg too , one of the best kheema Pav in entire Mumbai i would say is served here .
Asim Behera
Its fast, convenient and light on the pocket. However taste is nothing to write home about. Its old and historic so worth a visit for promoting them.
Amruta Shetty
One of the oldest Parsi restaurant opposite to the Churchgate station. This place has variety of healthy breakfast options. Tried keema pav and cheese masala omelette and lemon soda, were good. Pocket friendly and service is quick.
Tanushree Jayakar
Another old parsi restaurant just opposite churchgate station...a pocket friendly restaurant for quick snacks and tea
So we ordered
tea
pudding-okayish...not better than the merwans(one at grant road)
maska pav
Vijesh Nair
Excellent place for Bun Mhaska and chai . Neat , Clean and nice ambiance. The place was a bit crowded so the delay in responding to orders is understandable. But the only problem is the place doesnt accept any credit or debit cards ....
Kasturee Phatak
Just okay.. one of my friend said u get good omletts here, so assuming it is an Iranian Cafe, we ordered for a masala omlett and it was just okay.. anybody can better masala omlett at home.. dispointed omlett we went on ordering chicken biryani, which had good pieces of boneless chicken, and it was quite succulent.. so points to that. It can be a savior if u are at Churchgate station and want to quickly fill urself up, one can try this one. Not otherwise..

Stadium is your typical no-frills Irani Cafe which is located at a walking distance from Churchgate station.

Bun maska Chai and Kheema pav at the most reasonable prices is what Stadium is known for. The tea is bit on the sweeter side but tastes great with the bun mask. For snacks, they have sandwiches and stuff like pattices.

Surprisingly, they have stuff like Veg Thali, Biryanis and Chinese dishes on the menu as well, something which one wouldn't usually expect at a typical Irani restaurant. I haven't tried it and don't really intend to, unless I receive some really high recommendation for trying out such a dish! But till then it's going to be just bun maska Chai for me and some caramel custard too (depending on its availability, which is usually in the negative!)
Nandkishor Thorat
Ordered paneer pulav, itā€™s seems to be good, but it was so oily and tasteless that I almost lost my interest to visit this place again. Only visit this cafe to have tea, omletee or something light snack, I doubt about other options available here, so donā€™t waste your money. I donā€™t recommend this place if you are hungry and also want some thing good to eat
The Happy Gobbler !
Stadium is located adjacent to Churchgate station. Itā€™s a favourite amongst evening passerby. One must definitely have omelette pav, bun maska and chaii. The plain jane chicken sandwich is also good if you like something plain and light. We also tried paneer pulav and kheema pav. Paneer pulav was bland and oily. Quite a turn off. Kheema pav was okay.
Itā€™s one of the oldest restraunts that Churchgate has till date. How about relishing a cup of chaii and bun maska before you catch that local? ;) Nandkishor Thorat

Nice irani chai and bun maska...I found the omelette a little expensive for the quantity. Mutton kheema was good and it is there speciality. And the showstopper was the delectable ' caramel pudding' . A must try. Very near to sea face..

Located outside churchgate station west side,Ā

A typical irani place. With nice wooden chairs and tables for dining.

Safest option is to have kheema pav, bhurji or chicken,

Price is on higher side little as per the service and food.Ā Well the service can be improved a lot.Ā Ā

Follow us on instagram, facebook, twitter - foodtraveler14

Have been visiting this place since my college days and I must say nothing has changed much. The ambience, the food, the quality everything is pretty much the same.

Located right next to Churchgate station this place is one heck of a culinary heritage (According to be at least).Ā Its quite spacious and employs a number of friendly staff.Ā Something of the dishes that still bring back the college memories are :Ā
Kheema Fry.Chicken Liver Masala Fry
Chicken Afghani
Cheese OmeletteĀ

And the all time favorite, Bun Maska and Chai.

Apart from these their Mawa cake also creates a unique magic of taste.

All in all its a great deal.

This age old Irani joint is located close to Churchgate station and Marine drive. Our breakfast place on most Saturdays šŸ˜ one must try their mawa cakes and bun maska there. This place doesn't accept any kind of cards and is a cash only restaurant

Visited: 21.01.2018

CASH ONLY, mind you.

It was the Mumbai Marathon and hence I guess, the Stadium restaurant was less crowded.

Our order:
Tea
Bun maska
Omletter pav
Burji pav

The Tea was served before the food. The pav came before the burji. So, that's a negative on service. Food was okay. It lacked salt too.

It's a typical Parsi joint. You'd find foreigners visiting.

I had to try it. Won't go again.

Typical irani/parsi types hotel with a treat of variety in non veg..
Breakfast can always get more tastier here..
Mawa cakes, omletes , chicken sandwich you can target first.

Only cash is the low point here...

Stadium located outside the Churchgate station.
Popular as an Irani eatery serving some authentic Parsi cuisine like Dhansak, Bun Maska, Brun, Kheema, Omlette & other non Veg delicacies.

Priced on the higher side for the quantity and taste ,they offer.. prefer other restaurants like Kyani to Stadium for sure..!

Ordered the Kheema Pulao, which was saltless and mediocre..

Chicken & Cheese sandwich priced at 160/- was served with a slice of cheese and boiled chicken.
Not worth the price, good taste though..!

Kheema Pav was tasty & quantity was decent.
Priced at 130/- average pricing but compared to Kyani-85/- not worth it..!

They serve Veg Thali -230/-.. more expensive than Status & Samrat located within 1km serving highly superior food..!

Shady ambience & nothing worth experiencing in this over-rated place.

A quick serving North Indian and Parsi restaurant just near Churchgate station - that's Stadium for you.
Ambiance wise, it's just decent. Service wise - one of the quickest!
Talking about food - a clear winner!
I loved most of the North Indian dishes here. Am yet to try Parsi dishes. Chicken masala, chicken mughlai, Chicken Dhansak (Chicken cooked with lentil) and Chicken Afghani are my favorites here.
Can't wait to try it out again for Parsi food.
Pricing wise - it's again a pleaser! Affordable rates!

All in all, a good place to munch on after or before having a hearty day at the Marine Lines!

Indeed a Iconic Place..... Tried the bun maska which was extremely soft and creamy.. Full marks there definitely! Fresh lime soda was freshening.... and don't miss out their Irani Chai...

This place has advantage due to its reach from Churchgate station.
If your looking for a quick hangout and meeting or chai nashta place in morning its good.
We went here for morning chai nashta.
Ambience wise there's nothing unique and extraordinary but yeah there is high chance your parents and grandparents must have visited this place.
They do have full meal options for lunch and dinner.

Our order:
Kheema pao 2.5/5 decent taste but quantity is less.

Bhurji pao 1.5/5 very costly. You can get dozen eggs @home at home and make bhurgi pao and savor it more rather than spending 110for this. Taste wise ok.

Maska pao : good to try wit chai.

Omlet:3.5/5 normal.

P.S: good thing we noticed the all dishes were prepared in less salt.

Mansi P

After a tiring Photowalk in the lanes of causeway.
Headed towards the stadium restaurant located near the Churchgate station.
Kheema Pav,Veg Pattice, and don't miss out their Irani Chai.I also tried their chicken cheese grilled sandwich which had boiled Chicken and bit of black pepper it was okay,A bit bland call for a grilled one rather the plain sandwich ! Overall experience was good,Quick service and the ambience gives the feels of 90s.

Faded glory. Living off the past. Disinterested owners. As a kid, this was one of my absolute favourites when I had an opportunity to visit south mumbai. The amazing bun and broon maska with chai, kheema and omlette. The Parsi food and chicken biryani also I thought was underrated. But visiting this again, I realised that nostalgia serves me better than the real thing today. Seems like the owners are not keen on maintaining the quality. The mark key dishes left lot to be desired.

Just felt sad at the end of it.

Though not on the top of the list of Irani restaurants in the city , this restaurant situated immediately next to Churchgate station is definitely one of the eatries to walk into on a leisure day .Ā

Stadium has got beautiful rusty ambiance which strikes a welcoming feel . Old sheesham wood chairs and tables are rare in any other restaurant . High roof and airy with cool breeze from the near by located sea filling the place .

Must try : Irani Chai ,Bun Maska , Kheema Pav,Bhurjee Pav .I tried chinese food too , but was a mistake . Dont do that mistake .Ā

If you are looking for figerlicking delicious food , you are at the wrong place , but one must visit this place for Irani breakfast and the Irani "mahol".Ā

Food :3.5/5
Ambiance :4.5/5
Service 3.5/5

Bon Appetit :)

Iconic. Yes!
But that is all there is to this place.

Tried the bun maska which was extremely soft and creamy.. Full marks there definitely!

The cheese and chicken sandwiches were severely below par. No flavour, just booked chicken & a slice of cold refrigerated cheese.. Absolutely NO!

The anda biryani was just alright.. Very oily but thwn that how some biryanis retain flavour.. Not bad.. But very oily.. The raita was horrible tho..

Tried their desi Chinese as well.. Obv had a very eggy smell.. I say this even after ordered egg schezwan noodles.. So yes it did have egg but stank a bit.. Which makes you worry about the hygiene levels in the kitchen..

If you're looking just for cheap, iconic, old restaurants.. There's many better options serving better tasting, cleaner and cheaper food than this one...

Finding a good place to eat in a new city is tough job. Coming from Kolkata, I am finding the process of a good place to eat, without pinching my wallet, is tough and frustrating. However, I find this place, Stadium Restaurant, during my expedition to explore the city.
Stadium Restaurant is one of those restaurants where you can get everything, almost, at an affordable rate.
I had Chicken Thali and a Cup of Tea. The Thali comes with Dal, Chicken Curry, Veg-Curry, Rice, 2 Rotis, Acchar, and Papad.
And guess what costed only 240 bucks!
Yes, it feels like holding the Queen's Necklace!
Tea costed 20 rupees only!

Good...old irani cafe with decent charges and only place in churcgate where you will see variety in menu. The khema half fry was good, chicken rasedhar was also good..the masala are not on heavy side but the oil is heavy....so while ordering keep that in mind...other than definitely a good place to visit...

One of the most iconic places to have chai in mumbai, their special chai is famous and is a must have. Caution, they don't accept any form of digital payments so cash is a must. I doubt the cleanliness of this place major reason for the drop in rating.

Happy place to catch some Irani/ masala chai on your lazy weekend stroll in and around Marine Drive. This one is a hidden gem. You'd find dads' bonding and reminiscing their stadium days, as they babysit their young brats. Add some bun butter and life is beautiful. Navin Rao

Great place for breakfast. The half fry eggs here are the best I have had. The egg bhurji is a delicious spicy preparation. The bread pudding with a sweet cardamom flavour is a must try. Staff is friendly and service is prompt.

It's ok sort of restaurant!

The Restaurant is a situated on the Heart of Mumbai's Churchgate next to Main Station. This place serves Average food to go with. It's very old Parsi Restaurants but cannot be compared with Britannia & Co., Kyani & Co., Cafe Irani Chaii and many more.

The only great thing is the old style Ambience and the locality that is the best attractive part of this Restaurant.

I was lucky to find this place empty, for a change since it was Independence Day. Olympia, Mondegars, Leopold and of course, Stadium are some Must-Visit places in town for a fully satisfactory meal. Food served here is quite nice and simple but also quite bland for those who enjoy spicy food. I've tried the Chicken Masala, Chicken Biryani and Chicken Szechuan Fried Rice here and I must say, their food is quite good. The portions are good enough for two. What I specially recommend is the Chicken Masala with Pav. Try it out!
Hiraj Counto
Perfect place for a quick bite near Churchgate or even a light meal if you have the time. Ambience is very simple (no AC) and the focus is purely on the taste of food, and not on its appearance!!

Must try for breakfast: Masala omlette, egg bhurji and bun maska with tea.

Lunch - chicken biryani, mutton kheema pao, chicken dhansak rice.

It used to be value for money in the past but prices have understandably gone up in last few years.

I love the simplicity of this place. I often visit this place. The food and the service they offer is too good. I enjoy the bun masks and chai. The chicken briyani , egg bhurji is too good. Another is it's location, nestled just about two minutes from churchgate station and is extremely pocket friendly. Keep it up team!

Chicken rashidi was wonderfully rich thick gravy with grated boiled egg all over. It was served with Pav which was absolutely soft. It was loaded with flavours and finger licking.

Fresh lime soda was freshening. Brun maska was fine too.

All said and done, I would like to express my disappointment over the unsatisfactory level of service. šŸ˜

Perfect place for a wholesome breakfast. Totally loved the kheema pav! Just the kheema pav is less spicy, had to ask for some green chilies to go with it. On my next visit I ordered Kheema Fry which had green chilies already! And it has now become my favorite.

Remembering the Classic style Mumbai restaurants.... This place won't disappoint you then.
Especially their Cheese Omlet is something you can't afford missing.
Ideal for quick snacks and Lunch bites.
Sneha Shriyan
A good place for Irani food.. not a lot of options for full course lunch meal.. but yummy kheema pav, parsi food n good non veg food too.. a good place for a catch up with your friends.. a place that is old enough for everyone to recollect their youth in 'Bombay'
Tejas Mane
Total wastage of money and time, tasteless food and pathetic service.
The waiters are so rude that you will regret to be there, ambience is also not so good.

What can I say about the area Churchgate it's just lovely, even with the hustle bustle of the station and cabs outside wanting to get people to sit in their cab and whisk them away.

Was really hungry as usual nothing new after 39yrs being in South Mumbai went to eat here.

Soon as I entered the old owner sitting on the antique cash machine smiled.

No AC here so if u in for the fan culture and windows open then enter at your own risk, no beer served here.

Ordered for Chicken Liver Fry and rice, also ordered for Egg Bhurji and Bun Maska and Bun Maska with Jam.

Chicken liver fry was good but little oily I would say, rice we ordered and we didn't realize or the staff didn't suggest go for half plate, rice grains were good, bun masks can't go wrong and enjoyed every bit of it, the bun maska with jam is an overload of Sweetness and would not suggest to people with a sweet tooth or if you are on borderline with Diabetes.

Overall decent to sit and relax for tea or coffee too.

Just a stone's throw away from Churchgate station, this Parsi cafe is serving its customers for years. I have been visiting this place with my dad since my childhood days. Had been again last Saturday with a friend cherishing those old days. Nothing has changed since then. The same wooden chairs and tables and the same ambience. This time I ordered for omlete, bun maska and chai. This place has been an evening scene before heading home for me whenever I visit Marine drive which is just 5 mins away. This place deserves a number of visits. Food: 3/5, Ambience: 2/5, Service: 3/5
