Review Good Luck Cafe - Mumbai

JANHAVI HEDULKAR
Good food, yummy Pani Kam chai with bun maska. My friend had chicken roll it was yummy too. Previously when I visited 5 years ago, we could have tea and bun maska to dine in. But, recently when I visited that time I came to know that if we buy any other breakfast item then only we can get tea and bun maska on table or else we have to have it outside.

Quintessential Irani cafe..must have non-veg, chai and bun-maska caramel pudding apart from the other sumptuous things in the menu. you must come and visit this place, if you like non-veg, you will get number of varieties.. mixed crowd of customers..Though on peak hours you will have to share the table or even wait for few minutes.. But being a busy place then too the staff maintains the hygiene and cleanliness.Though menu is not too lengthy but still whatever items they provide are worth having. Food is comparatively very good, staff is very kind and they provide the most kind of service which matters most. The staff is very friendly and cooperative and remember the guest preferences. And it's not that costly also..My normal choice is kheema pav, double omelette and bun maska with tea . A must visit cafe for budget friendly outing if you are in Bandra, Located opposite Mehboob Studio this iconic place has a charm of its own.

Extremely good food. The place has an old charm of Bombay. Quick and friendly service. Only drawback - for payment is only CASH that's accepted

This has cafe holds a special plate in the heart of Mumbaikars especially those who are fond of tea. It's been many decades since the establishment of this cafe. They don't have that showy interiors or quirky ambience or good looking plates or something like that, instead they like to keep it simple. Normal food in steel plates giving it a heart touching desi feels. Chai and bun maska is it's speciality! 😍 Also their cheese sandwich and junglee sandwich are a must try!

The tea of this place is very popular and I can definitely say, it is worth the praises. Egg bhurji is also very yummy but donot forget to tell them for adding salt. The egg Bhurji contains very little oil and yes, you can also try the famous Turkish sweet dish Bakhlawa. Currently, during the present covid times, there is no seating arrangement and it is just a takeaway centre.

Every time I visit mount mary church, I make sure I have bun maska and tea. And always end with keema pav and omelette pav. I love it.

Food tastes delicious. But the quantity is quite less as compared to other restaurants. They don't let you charge your phone if you asked them to do so in case of emergency. The only thing that annoyed. Rest the place is quite good to have snacks as well to buy some spices.

One of the best Breakfast spots in Mumbai. Do try the bun maska and chai if you are in the mood for something light. For true foodie, do have the kheema Pao or the haleem Pao for breakfast. Or Just Snack on the omlets! They are great too...

The food is tasty. WHEN AT GOOD LUCK BUN MASKA AND TEA CANNOT BE MISSED

Heard a lot from friends about the place and it was just awesome..Had the jheena samosa, falafel, shawarma and Chai..Loved. The samosa and chai a lot.
Prashanth Dommeti
Good place to try burji pav, baklava and keema pav. The only drawback which I found was the owner didn't let us to have bun maska and chai inside the restaurant eventhough many tables were empty.
Amol Rathod
This has been my all time favorite from chai to Bun Maska to Chicken Afghani. They have a very good menu

Good luck cafe owner is a cheat. I ordered 3 plate keema and he sent me 1 plate keema box and i called them and spoke to them that I always eat and i have been given very less quantity instead of accepting the mistake the owner was arguing with me that it is sufficient quantity. They robbed me as I gave 450/- for 3 plate but I received 1 plate in which half of it is filled with oil. Plus the taste of the keema seems lime its not halal!!!!! Rather try Shahnaz hotel in mahim which gives 1000 times better fresh keema and good price and they do not cheat.

Its a nice joint to have breakfast ...

This was a bad experience at good luck. At one point, I used to visit good luck cafe quite often but I'm returning here after a while and the quality has dropped down drastically. The staff is SO SLOW. we were charged 25/- per chai and it was served in random paper cups which is not the true essence of am Irani chai. When we pay a good amount, we expect good service in return. We were so disappointed with the burju quantity which was served with zero salt. The samosa was dry and chewy. And the white chicken, costing 270/- was a WASTE OF MONEY- taste was bland and stale.
Good luck needs to either revise their rates or start living up to it. I would definitely not recommend this place if you're looking out for a real Irani experience.

It's an old restaurant giving back the feel of olden era of Mumbai days. The ambience hasn't been changed and is now famous for its vintage appearance. The restaurant is big enough to accommodate all kinds of gatherings as its quite spacious.

The menu comprises of dishes from the North Indian cuisine and variety of options to choose from during breakfast time. The taste of the food is decent and though it isn't extraordinary it is good enough to give it a try. The restaurant is pretty famous for its Chai and is a reason for numerous people's visit.

The quality is decent, the quality didn't have any problem and the price quoted made this place not very expensive but it also doesn't deliver the experience worth the price.

The staff was nice and kind but sadly didn't know the menu very well even though the place is known for its legacy so that was disappointing.

#मोहब्बत chai n bun maskha is all tym fav te malai chai and the double kadak tea with maskha is very awesome combination forever and all time loved by everyone..❤️

One of the oldest joints of Bandra, with lovely food my personal favorite is their Keema and their breakfast is out of the world.
The management is a bit old school and the service too could be faster. The management could be a little more polite to the guests and increase the service speed.
If you love Irani chai then you shall visit this place

A busy irani cafe where you'll see a waiter running around with a mischevious. We ordered plates of their Bun maskas, Lemon teas and Irani chai. Also tried their hot kheema samosas which were yum on a rainy day. We stopped by multiple times on the same day while exploring bandra.
Sraddha D'Costa
This rating is specifically for the kheema pao. Just keep coming back for this dish. The first time that I tried it, the taste just keep lingering! But their kheema is not for the healthy and diet conscious weight watchers. It's laden with oil, which makes it tastier. 🤗 I enjoy having the kheema with brun maska. After this deadly combo, you're sure to hit the treadmill. 😁

Have been here twice for breakfast. Tried keema pao first time around, was amazing! Tried keema ghotala next time around, wasnt as good. Omlettes are great and the bread is fresh. Mutton samosa is another good thing they dish out. Quick service and decent tables make it worth your visit.

Visited Here a few times now . A pretty old cafe Located near the Circle of Mehboob Studio . No Fancy Ambience or Interiors , Known for its good food . Always had a good time visiting here . Famous for its irani/Mughlai Snacks and BunMaska-Chai .

Must Haves :
- Bun Maska and Irani Chai .
- Bhurji Pav / Kheema Pav .
- Shawarmas .

The good old favorite of Biryani lovers.
Conveniently located in the main road on SV Road, you cant miss this signboard on your way to Bandra from town.
They have the best non veg dishes, biryani being their speciality.
The mini AC section seats about 20 people and is pretty stuffy, but a welcome seating considering Mumbai heat during most of the year.
Luckys as a brand owns many outlets, and also sells packaged biryani for take away.

This place holds a special place in the heart of Mumbaikars especially those who are fond of chai.
Went here on a Sunday evening as we desperately wanted a garam chai. The place was half empty inspite of being a Sunday evening.

What we ordered:

Irani chai and bun maska: A perfect irani chai with bun maska makes the chai more soulful. 4/5

Bhurji Pav(They called it scrambled eggs): Quite scrambled eggs with green chillies, can make it more attractive. 3.5/5

Over all the place and food was good served with normal steel plates making it looking more simple. Ambience was also quite simple. Recommended for chai lovers!

Good luck cafe, Bandra is a really nice restaurant for early morning breakfast. The beef kheema pav is really good. U get all type of egg preparations too with milk tea. Ambience is basic. Service is quick and nice.
Khyati Engineer
I love their Bun Maska and omelette. And they have the most amazing irani chai. I love their kheema pav. It has the most beautiful irani cafe vibes.
Sanu S Nair
We did not understand the hype around the place. The food was bad (too much masala), service was bad (waited for almost 30 mts for one omelette to reach the table), too expensive for a place like this. Avoid!

Terrible service, the waiters act as if they are doing a favour by working over there. The sheer ignorance of the owner baffles me. Would not recommend this place as the food is average, nothing special. Just horrible service.

Good luck Cafe located opposite To Mehboob studio bandra west .....Great place to Have staple like Kheema Pav ,Bun Maskha ,Irani Chai ...Not forgetting Half fry ...
Great Food and Service ....

I mostly have bun masta here and Maggi it's a good small restaurant to have breakfast we often go during our college, it's very reasonable and good to visit
Neha Gharat
Just like everytime no way we have a bad review for Goodluck Cafe our favourite kheema ghotala and bun maska with chai was in the plate and delicious like always.
Sabir Bagwan
The quality of service at this place has been degrading exponentially exactly in the same manner as the quantity of kheema in kheema pao is decreasing. But not all bad, the chae over here is worth trying and have it with bun maska pao, it'll be a treat.
Weekend Chef
After a wonderful Sun set @ Bandstand, we head up for some Parsi food. Good luck was the nearest, having checked the recommendations on zomato, we decided to give it a try.
Initially we ordered Egg Bhurji pav n chai.
Amazingly we were highly disappointed, the dish had no salt. Or may be it is served without salt...dont know.
2nd order was Bun Maska, waited for 10 mins after ordering, server forgets our order. Although we were not in a hurry so thought of waiting for the iconic Bun Maska.
Trust me it was nothing that you could not resist for. A normal taste bum maska that you could get anywhere in town.

Hasan
The best thing about this place is Chai and Bun Maska. The Shawermas are decent. The Keema is good too but the sandwiches and chicken tikka are awful.
Nikhil Katyal
I have had their breakfast items and they are good. Have tried the keema and egg preps. Keema in specific is my favourite. It's not overly spiced and tastes good. The ambience is simple. Located right on the Mehboob studio circle the restaurant sees a lot of local Bandra crowd. I would certainly go there for their keema. A lot of websites and blogs would suggest their keema ghotala, I feel the plain keema preparation is good enough.
Ananya Agarwal
A good place for irani restaurant lovers. We ordered a bun maska, bun omellette which were great. We also ordered regular teas. The quantity of tea was not as per the price and it was not good also.
Aditya .Bansod
When asked for Lemon ,ans ~ not available..
and what the hell is chicken tikka dish , even got half cooked pasta.
Total waste of money at prime location.
This place has good option for non veg food. Visited here and try their irain chai and keema pav.
Ambience was average, service was fast, food was value for money.

I have been to good luck yesterday.... and this is what I see in my mask Pau and top of that they was no appologies by there end. This arrogance shows if they are at fault they dont even have the decency to own it up that too by such a renowned place. To show it how cheap and filthy they are i paid the dill and walked out it makes me sad how such customer centric platform are not bothered about their customer who foot in bills to continue their setup. Shame to good luck cafe
Vivek Debnath
Went to this place when i visited band stand. And had their beef keema pav and irani chai. Keema pav good for the price they charge. And iranian tea i had for first time, it is black tea with little aroma in it. Over all a good place
Hitesh
Worst half fry ever, waiter didn’t even gave water..... don’t visit ever in your life. Might as well try the local stall near Galaxy Multiplex..... Sunday ruined successfully...
Syed Shaaz
This cafe is as simplistic as it get gets, table chair and food. The thing that makes it awesome is the 12 am midnight type food. An authentic keema pav and a delicious Irani chai will just make your day. The other combination with the chai can be a mitha bun or an omelette. Fun fact the cafe got its name from the fact that all the struggling actors auditioning at Mehboob Studio used to come here for food, thus to wish them luck the owner kept its name as goodluck cafe.

A typical Parsi Iranian restaurant with no nonsense attitude. Must have are Kheema pav, Bun Maska, And Kadak/Brun pav Maska with tea.

The pavs are different than what you usually get at stores. The Kadak pav too is more crunchy. A good breakfast joint.

A friend's scouring of places and suggestions bought us to the Good Luck Restaurant, in Bandra. It is situated right next to Mehboob Studio, at a busy junction in Bandra. The place is more known for it's breakfast dishes, and is usually crowded.

The ambience is vintage, takes you back to the old Bombay nostalgia, and the menu is typically Parsi. They have a small convenience store as well. They choose not to do digital transactions, as they maintain they want some things to remain old school. Who wouldn't love such places?

The food is a mix of typical Bombay Parsi and middle eastern. We were pretty hungry, and started off with a bunch of pavs and kheema fry beef. Served piping hot, the crunchy pavs go wonderfully well with the spicy beef kheema. Next we ordered, the kheema ghotala beef, which had more of an egg consistency. I personally liked the kheema fry more than the kheema ghotala. Next up was the lovely chicken shawarma, with generous amounts of chicken and mayo.

The flagship dish of this place is the bun maska accompanied by Irani chai which soon followed suit. A few mutton samosas later, we ordered the final dish of the day - more crunchy pavs with Chicken Handi, upon the recommendation of the waiter. It was a tad bit disappointing compared to the earlier dishes.

Overall, the food gets a healthy rating of 4/5, the vintage ambience another 4/5. Service was pretty fast as we were one of only 3 tables at 8PM on a Friday evening. A great visit if you're in the area, and are looking for a filling meal at a reasonable price.

If you are fond of bun Maska and tea.. Good luck is the place to be...

Have tried the burji Pav but did not like it, we had ordered cheese sandwich without tomato, it was very dry not worth the money.

I visit this place only to have bun Maska and Irani chai...
Shayoni Sengupta
The whole cafe, with its old time wooden decor, service and ambience will take you back to the 90s. Ideal for those big breakfasts after a weekend run!
I had the bun maska and an Iranian chai for a mere 40 bucks! Pretty good, though nothing spectacular.
Bhavin Shah Food Troll, Health Elf, Fun Human
This is our regular breakfast place when we have any cycling events planned around Bandra.

Things to really eat are:
Kheema Pav - Buffalo meat.
Fried Kheema pav - ditto.
Egg bhurji
Bun mask/brun maska if you like.

You can do without the chai/coffee unless you like bland fluids they call tea. Sorry, just dont like the taste.

good place and friendly owner and staff. We'll continue going here for the kheemas and eggs dishes.
Almas
Was on a hunt for a good hearty meal on a Friday night, and that is exactly what Good Luck offered. Had the most delicious Kheema Pav and Haleem in a long time! The Kheema was tangy and prepared with very less oil, a rarity in the Kheema Pav world. The Haleem was just perfect, hot and filling with the perfect amount of meat. It didn't feel heavy at all, just comforting. Kheema Pav, Haleem and a bottle of lemonade costed us just 300 bucks!

Located at Bandra, you would typically have to wait for a table. Tried the Chicken Bhuna, Egg Biryani and Chicken Biryani. Good stuff. Some of my friends did find it a tad bit spicy. Absolutely Amazing Chai and Bun Maska. Light on the pocket, quick service. Tried Egg bhurji and Egg Omelette. Nothing great at all as some reviews suggests. Maska Pav was only good thing.
Ohh So Yumm
This Iranian cafe bang opposite Mehboob Studios is an interesting place to eat and buy some daily needs stuff. They have a very simple and basic menu with snacks such as bun maska bhurjee pao and chai to food with chicken and bread to biryani. A regular breakfast joint for weekend visiting walkers who come to bandstand to walk in big groups to regular vollege students. Its economical on the pocket as well.
Rudolph Mendonca
Portion sizes are small. Tried the Halem Beef and Kheema. These were average. A bit expensive for the quantity. Tried the Panner Pulav. Was kinda bland. A one time try or can be given a miss.

A vintage feel restaurant taking you back in the 90's. Located at Mount Mary, opp. Mehboob Studio in Bandra, Good Luck Cafe is spacious and airy with limited seating arrangement, this place is good for morning breakfast.

Try this place on a Sunday morning for breakfast and indulge in their Bun Maska, Keema Pav, Omelette.

It's a typical Irani style restaurant, limited menu - you order, they serve, you eat and leave it's simple. No fancy things in between.
AFoodie
One of the best pocket friendly restaurant opposite Mehboob studio at Hill Road Bandra West. Love the food . I Visit there mostly for breakfast.
Jiignesh N Balsara
Restaurant is clean & tidy.
Staff was rude & unprofessional in talking while taking the order.

Ordered Chicken Buna (190/-) & Briyani (180/-) for 2 person.
Completely over price restaurant for each item on menu.

Quantity was so less that the ordered food was not enough for 2 person.

Menu's are priced with Best restaurants like Lucky..

Most interesting part I asked for Mutton the staff is openly offering me Beef. Isn't it banned?

Personally won't recommend or visit this place 👎
Shweta Rohira
So some places have the charm still of old bombay and this is one of the them Bun Maska chai and Maggi mazze Ki life so bombay ka mazaa chahiye toh be here come here n enjoy the old charm
Ambreen Shaikh
Good luck is located at Mount Mary near Mehboob studio bandra west and it serves Iranian cuisine and hence the interiors are also like old Irani restaurant look and feel. There are wooden table seating and the service is too quick here, you order ,they serve , you eat and leave it's that simple. This is mainly because the tables are limited and it's a crowded place sometimes you even have to share a table with random people and even that's alot of fun. I usually come here early mornings for some delicious kheema pav and tea, i also like bun maska pav here. This is a nice place to hangout with friends and come for morning breakfast or for late night food. I never really tried other menu items here because I just can't get over their kheema pav 😍😁The ambience is great and the crowd is mixed yet amazing.
Ashwin George
Right on the roadside towards Mount Mary Church you won't miss this restaurant. After reading a few reviews about this place I wanted to try out the food they offered.

Keema Fry - Too good, must try!

Cheese Omlette - Plain omlettte loaded with cheese. It was ok.

Chicken Biryani - I didn't find this that good. People who have said to try out the biryani hasn't really tasted authentic biryani.

The place is clean and quiet. Only cons I found that they take only cash, no extra cups and they even charge for onions.

My rating:
Ambiance - 3/5
Food - 4/5
Service - 3/5
Aish Sinha
Slightly odd place as a lot of things on the menu are actually not available. However the food that is usually served tastes good. The wait staff is relatively polite but the managers at the counter less so. In this day and age of post demonetisation they only accept cash which seems odd. Also they have some grocery items displayed ... not sure why. Even though there are a couple of large grocery stores in the vicinity. They have a shawarma rotesserie upfront which is worth making use of
Catherine
My first time at Good luck ! And yes it was my good luck indeed . This place is nothing but ordinary but the food is definitely worth a try . We ordered keema pao and egg bhurji .
Quick service and yumm food . Totally pocket friendly place
Fouzan Tambe
Worst restaurant ever in Bandra. Trust me it's not all worth the money.
The service of the restaurant is really really really Bad. Never gonna visit again.

Good Luck Cafe Is Located Near The Foot Steps Of Mount Mary

About The Place - It's A Clean Well Maintained Place ,A Typical Irani Cafe In Bandra, Easy To Find As It Is Near The Foot Steps Of Mount Mary, The Menu Is Small , Typical Irani Cafe Dishes Found In The Menu

About The Food - I Went Ahead And Ordered The Kheema Pav , The Service Is Quick ,There Is Probably Only 1 Waiter In The Cafe,The Kheema Pav Is Simple Nothing Extra Ordinary You Get Along With That 2 Pav.I Don't Know Why Is There So Much Of Hype Of The Kheema From The Place ,After Tasting The Kheema Pav From Here I Guess The Home Made Kheema Pav Is Any Time Better
Carol Aloy Gnana
One of the cleaniest resturant i have ever visited . Located at the heart of bandra , this place serves one of the best variety of dishes at reasonable cost. Ordered egg biryani and the smell of the biryani was enough to win my heart . Definately a place I am going to visit again.

Good luck Cafe✌
Near Bandstand a good place to have snacks or breakfast.
A proper Delight for Non-Veg lover😍,Veg people may not like this place as they don't have much dishes that will serve the purpose of Veg lover.

As I am a Non-Veg so it was a proper place to have snacks and we ordered chicken tikka Sandwich 😍, Chicken mayonnaise Sandwich 😍, Punjabi Samosa(as one of my friend was vegetarian 😁) and finally my most awaited dishes of all😍
Chicken Shawarma😍😍... I would recommend to all the Shawarma lover people to have atleast once.

Overall service 3/5
MUST HAVE : Irani chai

We had the much talked about bun maska and chai here. The bun was so soft and spongy with tooti frooti bits embedded. The chai was extraordinary with a hint of cinnamon and cardamom that heightened the taste buds.

Good service. You will not have to be wary of time because we ordered just bun maska and chai and killed time for about 45 mins and weren't driven away by them for lack of space. It isn't like any traditional irani cafe with the set rules.

Will update on the food items when I go next.
Unico Foodie
An Irani cafe with so so ambience. Service was also so so. We ordered Khema pav, jangli sandwich and bun maska.

Khema pav - Khema was good in taste. Loved it.
Jangli sandwich - Not good. No taste.
Bun maska - good in taste.

They charge 10/- for onions. This place don't accept any cards or Paytm. At the end after the bill is paid I asked for fennel they said we don't have it rudely. The quantity of Khema was less but the price was 100/- that's a bit costly as per the quantity but taste was good. Overall so so place.

Ambience - 1.5/5
Service - 2.5/5
Cleanliness - 2.5/5
Food - 3/5 (only because of Khema)
Price - 2.5/5
Nuzhat Mirajkar
The perfect place for a quick meal. They have been serving good food for years. This time we ordered for a half fry , kheema and omelette and of course their famous bun maska and chai. All the food was served quickly and it was delicious. The place is simple and service good.
Nikhil Gokhale
A simple restaurant in Bandra with a weird vintage charm. We have only been here for breakfast and it was delicious. The prices are reasonable and the service is pretty prompt. The dishes I would recommend are Kheema Pao, Bun Maska, Cheese Omelette. However I've been disappointed a couple of times here because the Kheema was not ready even at 8 am (which is not too early for breakfast in my opinion). We tried the Kheema Fry here as well but I would say the regular Kheema is much better.

PS: Don't miss the Chai! It is heavenly, although you'll need at least two cups of it to satisfy yourself fully.
DIPTI CHAKRABORTY
Irani cafe located on the way to bandstand. Ordered cheese omlette, bun maska and chai. Loved cheese omlette however bun maska didn't have enough maska in it 😉 Chai was fantastic and refreshing. Service is quick. Overall good experience.
Haroon Khan
Went to this place a while ago. Probably one of the finest places in Mumbai to have breakfast. The Keema and Cheese omelette with pav was the best. Would highly recommend for people interested in having cheap and delicious breakfast.
Jatin Sarode
It's just not the place i would like to go to. The food and service are very average. I had high hopes from the Iranian chai but it was disappointed. So was the Burji. The fact that drinks were not there, greatly disheartened me. Also they don't accept cards and provide a cacha bill. So not really impressed.
Anmol Khandeparkar
Had been there for an early morning breakfast at 7.30 am.
The mutton keema pao and chai are to die for !!
Please give this a try if you haven't yet, just for the keema pao.
Insane value for money.
You won't be disappointed !! :)
Rubina Aman
Unbelievably fantastic bun maska and chai ! Dirt cheap prices at a location like Bandra! Stroll along the hill road and take a break here. Very neat and clean, comfortable music from the 90s and and a relaxed laid-back atmosphere!
Sainath Pawar
Paani kam, bun maska, kheema pav, aanda fry, omelette, kadak pav, the list can go on. This place is there for more than 50 years now. You get all of the above and everyday items. It has undergone many transformations over the years but the basics remain the same. You should visit at least once.
Saira Ansari
This place is heaven and the best place for a snack.

The keema is awesome, and so is the lamb samosa (wish I could say the same about the omelette though). I also love the shawarma though I tend to open the wrap and eat the filling only. But but but...! The BEST is the bun-maska. Sometimes I feel I can kill to get one! 😀

No frills, no time-wasting, no overcharging. Order, eat, enjoy, pay, leave. Heaven.
Zenia Irani
Good luck is one of the few Irani cafes in Bandra which is the only reason why I go there. During my last visit the kheema was oily and full of spice. The anda bhurjee was lacking salt and masala on the other hand. Only saving grace was the bun maska and chai. I feel like their quality keeps deteriorating with every visit of mine.
Prof. Dr. Mansoor Showghi Yezdi
Good food is what you get. Well made Haleem the Mutton Kheema is a must must. Beautifully decorated with the Persian touch. I, and my family enjoyed their hospitality since ages. The children are keeping the tradition alive.

7.30 am
Brun Maska with Irani Chai
Followed by Kheema Pao
Followed by Sunny Side Up
Followed by Irani Chai
Bliss... thy name is Goodluck Irani Restaurant
Their kheema is just superb... no extra masala ... the taste of the meat is soooooo mouth watering amd authentic.
I think it's perfectly priced to the quantity.
They also have a spl kheema fry, but the original kheema is my favourite
Adil Khan
Good food. Liked the keema and the cheese omelette very much. The maska buns were excellent specially the sweet ones. The right place for breakfast.
Sneha Bhasin
Value for money! Thats one thing no one can debate about. It is our go to place for kheema pav and brun maska when in Bandra. Add their irani chai and u r all set. The best in suburbs for irani breakfasts at such nominal price.
Raja Kumar
Legend. Sooo tasty it's not even funny. Very quick service. Very tasty. The Cheese ommlettte kheema and bun maska are the trio that could induce world peace. Brilliant.
Rohan Madkaikar
Worst service ever... takes ages to make eggs... laid back attitude of waiters... and equally sad quality of food...don't enter if u already had a bad day!!...
Gaurav Singh
Heard lot about this famous joint from so many people. Went with two of my friends on a Saturday afternoon. Place looked more of an old cafe with pretty chilled out atmosphere. Tried their bun Maska which was decent not that great along with chicken bhuna which was good. Gave a shot to biryani too which didn't turn out great either. According to me it's an average place , which is more famous because of its location(in front of Mehboob studio) than for its food.

An ancient Irani eatery, Good Luck Cafe is acclaimed for its Kheema Pao.

For a bunch of 5 people, we ordered a medley of their Biryanis and of course, their famed Kheema Pao. Of the Biryanis, we favoured the Chicken Tikka version over the others.

I must say that I am so used to greasy and heavy Biryani, their Biryanis came off as pleasant surprise. Gentle on palate, the Irani version revived my love for the rice dish.

I am told their Haleem is to die for. On my bookmarks for next visit!

Food: Tried the Omlette Pav, Keema Masala and Irani Chai recently. All were average, nothing exceptional. Infact the Keema was below average. Oily and not at all pungent.

Ambiance: Well, lets just say, lack of it. Its too basic to be basic.

Service: Decent. The waiters know their stuff and serve with a smile.

Overall: Its a good option to visit, if 1) you're low on budget 2) want a quick irani meal 3) around the area. But wouldn't suggest anyone to drive all the way to specially go here.

PS: Needs a revamp. I foresee a SodaBottleOpenerWala doing total justice to this place.

Irani restaurants are sadly few an far between in the city now, which was sprinkled with one on almost every corner at one time.
But the city is now once again frolicking to this joints.
Goodluck cafe opposite Mehboob studio is one such Irani restaurant.
The ever so yummy kheema pao and bun maska is bringing customers hungry for wholesome yummy food in large numbers back to it.
We went there a bit early at about 8.00 on a Sunday and were able to get the table immediately. But by the time we finished rounds of kheema pao, bun maska, omelettes, few cups of teas the restaurant was filled to capacity and people were waiting for tables, which was a very heartening site!
Long live Good luck and other Irani restaurants!

Went there this morning with friends for breakfast. Was crowded and resembled a picnic area! Lot of bonhomie, everyone seemed to know everybody. Obviously lot of regulars. managed to get a table in 5 minutes. Had bun maska (generous) and Iranian chai. Both were good. Exited happy induced by the general positive vibes all around! Friendly staff and prompt service.

A good breakfast joint, where you can experiment with your taste buds. I would recommend keema pav and cheese omelette! And of course bun maska and chai!
Service is equally quick and ambience is decent!

Regular haunt for Sunday morning breakfast. The Keema Pao is good. But the service is below average. Tea Coffee is also just ok. You can go once atleast!

It is nearby Mehboob Studios in Bandra. Best recommended for breakfast. Chai and Buns were really good. They gave few varieties in veg and non veg but sanwiches were okay. Ambience wise, it's good and service is effective.

The rating here is only for the Keema Pav, Chai, Bun Maska, and Shawarma.

Have been to this place endless number of times. With friends and family, everyone has liked the food here. A typical Irani joint, they just have two to three servers, handling more than 15 tables. However, the service is quick and efficient. Simple place with decent ambiance.

Coming to the food that I would recommend. Go anytime and try out these dishes -

Keema Pav with Omelette
Tea (One of the best)
Bun Maska (dip it in the hot tea, and you will thank me later)
Brun Maska (usually this gets over in the morning only)

You can ignore the other food items they serve. Had tried a few, and was highly disappointed. Hence, stick to the above mentioned dishes, and you will not regret.

Staying near by this restaurant, we usually visit this place for breakfast. This surely helps us start our day in a tasty manner. :)

Drink Tea and Make Memories!! I surely RECOMMEND!!

once famous for their kheema now it's awfull the kheema was bland the kheema pulao was as dry as ever the chicken tikka was dry uncooked so much so that my dog also didn't eat it and my father was not even able to digest the kheema he had to throwup
Pratik Chury
I ordered a chicken tikka biryani and it was the worst I have had till now. Gave my feedback to the owner but he didn't seem to interested in it. I'm not even sure if the meat served was chicken. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

It's on my way to mountmarys in Bandra ,their Lebanese rolls are very fresh .i enjoy my coffee and bun Maska .
This is one of the oldest Iranian place .very open kind cafe which serves eggs and bread . Keema , chicken very Iranian style .
They do have a small ice cream outlet too .

We were there for a breakfast on our recent visit to mumbai. Our orders were Kheema-Pav(this is their speciality item), egg burji, omelette and Bun muska and Irani chai.My husband liked Kheema-Pav very much.Egg items were flavourless ( even after adding pepper ). Bun muska is the one which I liked the most.Tea was full of sugar (atleast for us). Anyway all can try once.

The foodstuff here is fantastic. The service is pretty good. Several non veg items are too good. Very economical too. Ambience is average though. They can make some improvements in that regards. Chicken buna is probably the best non veg dish.

My judgement on this place is based on my two times visit.
First I went on Saturday around 12.00 pm in the noon with my bestie..we called for chicken bhuna masala and pav !!
Chicken Bhuna Masala- Small Chunks of chicken tenderly cooked in a spicy and oily gravy with a hint of cardamon in it. The gravy was less compared to the chicken pieces. But it was delicious. Indian flavour and spices everything was added into it.

My next visit was again yesterday..my bestie liked the food and we decided to go.
According to my suggestion..I told my friend I want to try chicken tikka masala..when it came.
Chicken tikka Masala- Red colour spicy gravy with 3 pieces of chicken tikka in it which I wished could have been cooked more..I personally did not like this dish and wont recommended to anyone.
Chicken bhuna Masala- the taste was good but not as great as previous day..the gravy was more this time.
Coming to the staff when we complaint about chicken tikka masala.we asked them to replaced it or re cook it. They bluntly refused us..saying we cannot do anything. You want order something else but we will charge you..if they were charging us than give us better quality.
I asked the waiter for water..he comes and keeps the jug on the table..there is no courtesy in them.
I do not think I will visit this place.

Good luck cafe located near Mehboob studio. It serves some delicious bun maska, coffee and Maggi. It was my go-to place during college for some early morning Maggi cravings.
