I love a good shawarma but ever since I've tried to cut down on my meat intake (am working on eliminating it from my diet altogether), it's become tough to find a good option that's tasty, relatively healthy and cheap too.<br/><br/>So I was super thrilled to find this place called Cairo Grill next to Khar station, after I attended an event where a friend was performing at The Habitat.<br/><br/>Although they served chicken and lamb, they also had vegetarian options! Not only was there a mushroom version but also a falafel one. I went for the latter and at INR 190 plus taxes it was relatively affordable, super tasty and kinda healthy too. The cheese sauce was decadent but not sickening and I loved that it was not painfully spicy nor bland. The falafels were crunchy and gave me just the right kinda texture-gasms with every bite. It was a good-sized portion and the pita was not too thick either. I'm definitely going back again the next time I'm in the area to try out the mushroom version.<br/><br/>The server was super polite, and didn't rush me but was very prompt himself. Those days when you're burning the late night oil and in the pin drop silence, your tummy makes some noise, not once but thrice, back to back. I was craving some Lebanese food and when Cairo Grill showed up on the feed as one of those few places that delivers quite late into the night, I quickly placed a zomato order. Here's what I had:<br/><br/>Egg N Rice: To start with, the packaging was a big turn off. The rice came in a paper box. Inside, there was orange rice which had zero flavour and only colour. It was topped with some extremely over done scrambled eggs and a couple of sauces, one of which tasted like aioli. It was way too bland, zero flavour and a nothing dish. Had to let go 75% of the dish since it was a task to finish it off.<br/><br/>Egg Shawarma: Again, a nothing dish. It was as if the same egg was wrapped in a pita and served as a shawarma.<br/><br/>I was too disappointed with the food and it lacked some of the basic mediterranean elements. Do not feel like taking a chance with the place one more time, especially that late in the night when, at that point, you do not even feel like ordering more stuff from elsewhere to satiate your hunger.

I called for a sausage egg and cheese open shawarma, which should be renamed to only sausage shawarma since it had only sausages and cabbage ( no eggs or cheese as mentioned) . The dish lacks quality and presentation. Quantity was very bad and not at all sufficient and worth for the price paid. Taste was ordinary and not upto the mark. The Restaurant needs to improvise and present a better dish to the customers.

Ordered egg shawarma which was a part of Zomato special discount for Rs 79. Got a kuboos with Mayo and an omlet which was not even fried properly (half fried) and nothing else filled. No cabbage or pickle or anything which is normally in a shawarma. When I called the restaurant they said that's how they make it. Not at all value for money.

Cairo Grill is a small place near Khar Station, though service may take a while, it's totally worth it.<br/>Was honestly pretty pleased and pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food from Cairo Grill. Called on an weekday for delivery and ordered an assortment of items - the Hummus with Pita, Falafel Shawarma and the mix over rice (Chicken and Lamb) NY Street Cart Style as while as their 'Fries with Benefits'.<br/>Love the Chicken Shawarma, Sausage Shawarma, Chicken with Hummus and the Biryanis here. I've been so addicted to this place that I used to order the Chicken with Hummus almost three times a week at college. The meat and cooking style is authentic middle eastern compared to other places serving the same cuisine.

My order here was a chicken and rice, and a smoked chicken shawarma. First up, I am a big shawarma buff and the one at Cairo Grill is definitely up there along the best in the city. Is it expensive for what it offers? Sure. But one can indulge here occasionally. The chicken pieces were tender and thankfully no cucumber inside the roll. I like the sauces and the pita bread. There was no white sauce here however<br/>Next up was the chicken n rice. One of my culinary delights in June was The Halal Guys back in NYC and we were on the hunt for a replacement here. It may not deliver the same flavours and punch in the simplicity but was a good attempt. I do definitely need more white sauce than offered here though and no, not paying extra for the sauce. Overall, it was good and worth another visit.

This joint looked great from outside. Was feeling hungry hence decided to try out. First I ordered Chicken Shawarma. The pita bread quality used for Shawarma is really bad. Its hard & you won't enjoy the shawarma. Usually Shawarma's Pita Breads are soft like you get in Maroosh & Carter Blue. I'm a great Shawarma lover but this was most terrible Shawarma I ever had. After this I decided to give them one more chance by ordering Chicken & Cheese Burger who's bun was again some cheap quality Bun. It wasn't fresh at all. Not a great experience. Needs lot of improvement.

I am never ordering from this place ever again. I had placed an order of two chicken shawarmas with a special condition of not adding any vegetables on them as I am allergic to beetroot(being one of their vegetables). But they still put the vegetables on the shawarmas. I had to choke it out of my throat. Absolutely abhorrent service. Shame on you, Cairo Grill.

Food is decent. The restaurant tries to do an authentic job but is another wannabe at best. The highlight is the delivery system which is one of the most irresponsible ones I have ever come across. Order at your own risk. The food might just be okay if you receive it, but receiving it is a big win in itself.
