Review Laughing Cavalier - Mumbai

Nand Kishore
Awesome ambience. Tasty and mouthwatering food specially non-vegetarian items. Very nice, well disciplined and cooperative staffs. Serves varieties of beer and wines. Even ported beer you can get here. Neat and clean washroom. There should be more spaces for parking.

The food is delectable and light, doesn't leave you feeling like you have over eaten. They have a chef's table too. Chef Vijayraj is a great guy too. Very good collection of spirits as well. Pizzas are awesome.

Perfect place to spend a relaxed and quiet evening with your loved one. The food is amazing though a little heavy on pocket but its worth the money. With a live band on weekends, it makes it all the more wonderful.
Krupasagar Sridharan
Very interesting fusion cuisine. Must try their Grilled Fish Curry with Lemon Rice - the coconut based gravy is to die for!

Simply speaking. A elegant way to enjoy your food with some great ambience and some classic music. Hence a great evening 😄😉

Way beyond expectations is all I can say .
I celebrated one of my birthdays here and trust me it's a pleasure to be here at this place . The guy who plays the violin absolutely made my day . They serve alcohol n some exotic food options here not something Indian food lovers would enjoy . You may find the place over priced but then they treat you like that rather spoil you like that .
I loved their ravioli pasta and a risotto . Their crispy starter was good too and to drink I went for a mojito n it want too sweet .
A place for special occasions with a special someone .

This was the first place I dined with my husband when I first came to Mumbai ...With it's ambience and smoothing music it has a special place in my heart... They have good verify in both drinks and food which ranges from Indian, Italian to continental...The see through kitchen and wood fired oven is a good touch...

Located few mins away from the link road its a decent place to dine....nice ambiance and had soft live music playing ....soothing thou...good food and service...the pizza was great and a must try....happy dining experience....

Suggested by one of ma colleague.... So was in ma list... Went there wid ma small family to spent some quality time...

The location was not easily traceable specially in night... However as it was a familiar location so could find it...

Even though it was Sunday evening, the hotel was empty.... Menu didn't have much option and after seeing the ambience and location, food rates were on higher side...

However the food taste was up to the mark... Specially biryani wid raita and dal makhani were awesome... Dinner wid live music was also always something which attracts me

Overall experience was Gud but I think they should reduce the rates to attract more and more people...

This place lives to its name. Wood burnt pizza, pasta, and appetizers are treat for ur taste buds. Ambience is also good. Excellent place for special occasions. I recommend wood burnt pizza and special nan with any gravy. Little heavy on wallet though.

It has this warm and cosy kind of ambiance which makes it a good dining place for family and for couples. The food mainly consists of continental food. The quality and taste of food is very good. If you are a pizza fan, you are in for a treat. You can watch the chef make pizza in one of the corners which has a large wood fire oven. They also serve a wide variety of wines and liquors which go well with the food. Its truly a continental experience in the busy and chaotic Malad area. Live Music adds life to the whole place. An apt place for special occasions with your loved ones

Here, I've striked off my old review because I don't think it was convincing enough, and I think I underrated the place by a notch. Anyway, here goes!

The location is tricky, perhaps that's the reason why not many know about this place, however, the ones who do know about this place, frequent it, and really, It's not hard to see why that is. Also, the ambience is positively fantastic. Everything from the art displayed on the walls, to the Alcohol collection, to the placement of tables and the lighting, it's not flashy, it's elegant. Add to that some lovely live music; both on the guitar and the piano.

Now to the main business. I'm extremely fond of the starters here, the 'Succulent Chicken with Smoked Cheese Sauce', a perfect example of the sauce totally working for the meat, not against it, the tastes combine to make it an intoxicating blend of rich flavour. Also a long time favourite: the 'Yogurt Poppers', I won't reveal the contents, try it to believe it!

The 'Veg Lasagne', might not satisfy all taste buds, it sure does work for me, a mild flavour, yet a wonderful filling of cheese and vegetables inside. Well, now the real surprise, why, the pizzas! Some of the best in town, they have a separate section for the pizzas, which is visible to the patrons, they only serve thin crust, but the cheese they use for this, with the other toppings, make it a tantalising affair, partly because of the crispy nature of the base. Aaand, if you like your Dum Biryani mild, this is the place, and oh, it combines really well with Black Dal.

There, I believe I've raved enough!

Didn't like the ambiance, didn't like the food nor did I like the staff.
I have been hesitant to go here because of the locality it sits in... But heard raving reviews from ppl so gave it a shot.
We were a group of 4 adults & 1 child; reached the restaurant when it was absolutely empty but the staff was visibly unhappy to give us a table for 6 guests as we were only 4 adults. He somehow didn't wish to consider giving the child a separate seat I am guessing.
Food didn't make the experience any more pleasant than the service. Overall a thumbs down. All this happened long long time ago; if things have changed now, that would be great to know.

A hidden gem in the by lanes of Malad...good place for a quiet dinner with live music (they even play the songs which you request)...food is pretty decent and worth the money.
Jinisha
Loved the food, the fettuccine pasta had amazing Italian flavor, woodfire pizzas are must try, apart from Italian cuisine the biryani was full of flavors.
On the other hand the service was not satisfying as we had to constantly asked for the sauces and dips, which they provided only one bottle of each between 10 people, we also had to ask to change the plates every tym the new dish arrived!!!

The place is quiet good and cosy. When i visited they had an amazing live singer. For a group plan they have very nice private cabinet style table.
service is 5/5
food 2.5/5
price 2/5 (considering extremely handfull portion they serve)
presentation 4/5

Last week been to this place
Pretty trendy place with good english country music. Starters are good , ordered several pizzas - madras curried pizza and another prep chicken pizza but both tasted similar :( deserts were a put off... Tiramisu did not look or tasted like tiramisu ...the choc layer in it was too bitter to taste. Overall expensive restaurant with average food taste.
Shivprasad Kabir
Restaurant serves over priced food compared to quality served. Services are not up to mark However place has some good ambience which makes up for it. Good place to have alcohol with some Italian food.
Rujuta Karnik
This is a quaint and cozy place located in the by-lanes of Malad off-link road. The ambiance is pleasant, with soft music, they even had a singer when I'd visited once post work.
Having said that, the food is average, nothing to rave about and the pricing is over the top considering the geographical location.
Sush Rana
Pathetic service.....no one is bothered to serve u....very slow service....waiters roaming around but no one is bothered to check if u need something.....was surprised as the service n food is just not as per the rating given to this restaurant....

A place that is hidden and if you find it, you are lucky to have a place like this one in your neighbourhood.

The minute we stepped inside the compound, “grandeur” is the word that hit our senses.

Promoted as a fusion restaurant, (which I initially thought of more of American)
has a good ambiance with its dim lights and modern wood decor against a artistic backdrop of paintings that give it a retro yey contemporary feel.

In love with the drinks they make. I loved the Long Island Ice Tea bacause of its simplicity and they exactly know how to make it well.
The basil flavoured bruschetta's and the home made raviolli where especially exquisite. Once can try pizzas here and you won't be dissappointed.

The pricing is a little steep but if you know your drinks well, you would not come out complaining.

One feedback would be to better the desserts menu. I think they lag behind in that department.
Krupali Salla
Staff is good as always but I feel the food is slowly deteriorating. But the woodfire pizzas are still a favourite along with the live music. Well maintained even though the crowd is less but a lovely romantic place in malad area.
Ashwin Chhugani
Food tastes good usually, but recently this happened...
Ravioli - "Sorry Sir, its not available today." - Manager
Cannelloni - Below our expectation. No problem. - Myself
Pizza - Celini's Pizzas are way better - Myself
Falafel - "I do not recommend this dish, its not as good as the one you get in Gulf Countries." - Manager
Tiramisu - "Sorry Sir, its not available today." - Manager

Terrible experience. Completely spoiled my Sunday evening. Rissoto was bland. Got veg biryani served without any dal or raita. And to top it all the unreasonably long wait for them to get us food or even serve water. Not worth the money neither worth the time.
Rupal Mamtora
Most amazing place to dine out! Pleasant and neat ambience with emphasis on hygiene. Awesome food with frequent updates in menu. LIVE MUSIC. One of he best places i must have dined at so far! great going laughing cavalier.

Cute Little Expensive Place. Italian food is good especially their Pizzas.
They offer Authentic Thin crust Pizza's with a fine variety of toppings to choose from. Whenever I have visited this place, I ve always found some live performances or live screening of matches on a big screen. It is never crowded so it is good to go on a date as well.
Shishir Yadav
To start with they have very limites option in starters as well as main course. Had gone to this place on friendship day n sadly it was not a good experience.

We had ordered pizza which was gud and mocktails were nice too. Starters n main courae were below expectations. Thr place is slightly overpriced...n way overpriced for mineral water, charging 100 bucks per bottle.

Overall not a gud experience..:-(
Aditya Mathur
I had heard a lot about this place . sadly it was all false. Food was over salty so don't order the prawns of any kind. Prawns biryani was a disaster too. Veg dishes were all too oily and cheesy to have any other taste. Lack of alcohol and seafood which should have been on the menu coupled with lack of service and over prized menu is all it takes to ruin the night...thanks for nothing...laughs on us.
Mandar Mestry
It was a great place 1 year back, but all staff has left and new staff is not capable of handling this awesome place. Food is OK, but staff is pathetic. Do not Visit this place to waste ur money.
Yash Kumthekar
Its a lovely place if you like continental(Its my favourite cuisine). The ambience too here is something to cheer about! The food has good taste and is definately giving a visit!

An awesome place. Very peaceful . We found this place on zomato and decided to try it.
Sunday night and we still got a place to sit. The food was nice. Service was prompt
Live music and a drink in your hand. What fun. Definitely worth visiting

To be honest, I had never heard of this restaurant ever so I was not quite sure how will it be in terms of taste and other things.

We entered and we were treated nicely by the staff and we got a good table. But as soon as we sat down we were greeted by mosquitoes which was not what I expected looking at the classiness of the restaurant and despite telling the staff about the mosquitoes, nothing was done about it which made us unhappy.

Getting back to the food. We started with a bread basket which was good. Then we ordered a garlic bread which was pretty satisfying as well. Then for drinks we ordered a Sula wine which was amazing.

For the main course we ordered a Risotto and 2 pizzas, one being a margarita and the other being a veg pizza (the name of which I forgot).

Overall, I would say that the food and the service is good but the fact that there a lot of mosquitoes and also that this problem was not solved by the staff was what is the unfortunate part.
This place was recommended to me by my friend.. He couldn't stop going gaga about this place and it's pizza.. We just happened to go there and I let him take the lead to order since he was such a regular there.. We being vegetarians had ordered yogurt poppers which was made of hung curd, pomegranate with a dash of chillies.. The taste was fab.. Crispy outside, melts into ur mouth, perfectly well balanced flavours.. Not too sweet, tangy and spicy..

Greeca pizza which is made of feta cheese, spinach and sundried tomatoes.. Really tasty.. Crispy and gooey.. After the 1st bite the first thing I said was. " Where were u all my life.. ?" Feta cheese is what made all the difference those were my friends words.. We even talked to the CHEF and complimented him for his fab job..

For drinks we had ordered spicy guava and strawberry daiquiri.. They were good though I would have preferred my daiquiri less sweet..

The ambience is nice.. Service is superb.. Staff very courteous.. The fact that they have a completely open kitchen quite made a different impact.. Ur quite rest assured that they are definitely not messing up with your food quality.. Plus it's fun to see your food getting prepared.. My pizza was served on an eye shaped white dish which was quite interesting than regular shapes u find at other restaurants..

The only thing which I really feel where management needs to look upon is their pricing.. It's a bit higher compared to quantity served..

Overall I would recommend everyone to go there at least once..
Ankit Minglani
Went there for a office team lunch on a weekday, pretty slow service , took almost an hour to get us our order. The ambience was good , there was no live music. Food was ok but the quantity was not at par with the cost of the food. My whole team had the same opinion. Will not visit again.

There is long way to go for The Laughing Cavalier to reach to a point, where we can say "average food". Guys work on your food quality.
We have ordered pasta and risotto, these are very basic dishes, specially when it's been claimed as Italian restaurant. You have gone wrong with basics
Tejas
Very Good Family Atmosphere. Ambience hospitality good. Waiters good n convincing but food is average. Italian but average. No bad not too good. It's like emptying ur pocket for like comparatively less worth. Overall rating a 3 star.
Monali Laddha
Amazing and qualitative food great ambiance the staff needs to be more courteous towards their guests and they need to increase the quantity of the dish they provide
Swapnil Sahani
Really not upto the mark when compared to the ambience......i expected it to b much more fab than it was......rest food and service was classy....luvd it.....

Have been here a long ago & it does deserve special mention. this is very nice place if you want to have a different dining experience in the suburbs. There was live music and the ambience was very good, can become a bit noisy though. The food was good but the pizza must find special mention - it was just right. Must add I did find the place expensive but for the one time the different experience made up for it.
Binit Agarwal
Although the speciality for this restaurant is supposed to be more of continental but I always liked this place for the Biryani that they serve. One of the most amazing I have ever had. Live music with your request being played for some classic English rock makes a place a must visit!
Robinson Savala
I am giving u guys 1 starrr ..... seems quite enough.
Disinterested staff... v poor attitude.
I broke my own record of quickest wraping up from a restaurant last experience was "corniche" dis time its the "laughing cavalier" now seriously "corniche" was hundred time better than u guys.
Yes your place is sophesticated. But the service team needs a headsup on what really customer service is..
I was askng few things about the avialability of a certain drink i was rudely told told to check the menu and the person walked away.
Guys my suggestion is please get a trainin done for ur staff.. a near by cheap bar waiter would know 10 timew better how to behave wid every single customer.
Wish u luck ....

Sneha Jain
I have gone many a times...each time food was good...especially the yogurt poppers... Their is a live performance too.the singer would come to your table and sing as per your request on his guitar
Shweta
The best Food in Mumbai city favourite restaurant must must go mind blowing and food is so good you can go for any occasion or just for dinner on a weekend you will never be disappointed ! The Biryani is to die for !!! The quality of the chicken omg doo good and the Italian food is just superb I must say this place is for actual Food lovers !!!

The laughing cavalier... Located at the most off beat place in Malad.. Bt it's a surprise tht it's an awesome place.. Ambience was calm.. Soothing.. Plus there is either a piano person playing it.. O a singer who humms songs n keep u entertained.. Food I tried was Italian.. Wch was jus fab.. Paneer tikka pizza was yummy.... Lil too over priced I wud say.. Bt I dnt mind paying for it once in a while... U won't get table on Sundays until u reserve it.. Plus have heard d chef has opened d restaurant nt for profit.. Bt coz of passion.. For wch I wud give him 5 star rating.. N I cud feel it's true after a grt dining experience.. Must visit once.. I m surely gng back to try their Indian food..
Premanshu Das
The bar counter is an epic to watch...guitarists find a place to jam out...had been there on a friend's party...but its too costly....still the food preparations dont disaapoint you...
Janvi Shah
The best place to eat pizzazzz in malad...good quality thin crust pizza and a whole lot of Italian range..
Ravioli was super delicious and also the cheese platter was a different concept
The location is not that great but the ambience and service is good.
The live music was also an added advantage.
Tiramisu was very authentic so not everyone would relish it
Overall a good experience but overpriced menu.
Hits the pocket hard :)
All in all a good place and can be sure to get a table on busiest of days as well
Ankit Dave
Had been their just once
But it was awesome experience which will last forever
Food was a lil expensive but amazing
Live music played by few elders with all different requests of songs flowing in (classics and retro) just kept me humming beats every second
Floor was all mine to dance n sing but unfortunately time was short..
Anup
The place does have potential. The food ordered needed a little something in all cases.

Appetizers- we ordered the cheese ravioli. Good flavor of the Spinach and Cheese. The extra thick pasta sheets however spoiled it for us .

Mains- Rustic platter and Veg Biriyani. The potato mash was served after the grilled Veggies were all consumed. The quantity was unexpectedly low. The Biriyani was quite tasty but had a laughable quantity of raita and dal to go with it. Oh, should also mention the sea of oil accompanying it.

Desserts- prunes on Apple pie and Vanilla ice-cream. The pie was okay, and was accompanied by 2 very sickly prunes.

The place does have a very cozy feel to it and the staff is polite. cleanliness may need Some looking into.

We had been here for a friends bday....I
This is one of d most super fun places u can b with ur frnds... Or betterhalf...
They have an entirely Italian menu(those who don't like much of Italian can have pizza and their staters and pasta which r good too) and biryani fr d Indian palette ... The highlight is d live music over the weekend...where u can actually dedicate songs...or even sing along...which is super fun wid frnds and super romantic wid ur bf :) if u like music and u don't wanna really eat till ur tummy gets full.... U must try dis place :)

Piano + Good Food = Something that works for me. I have bookmarked this place for the only reason that it has retro piano music and that just makes things awesome for me.
Disclaimer : This review is based on my visit more than 4 years back.

This place sure did give us happy vibes. It had a perfect ambience for a fine dine with some soulful music in the background and the guitarist coming to your table and putting up the retro song of your choice. One of the very few restaurants that time to have an open kitchen and wood fired pizzas. The hospitality and customer service was truly commendable and the food too was brilliant. I've tried only Italian cuisine out here and I sure did love the food. Though quantity remains an issue as pointed out by many. A good place for fine dine and some good Italian food!
Khalil Abhyankar
This place was where I first met Italian food. I dared to go even if I did not know much about the Italian cuisine.
The ambience and the service is really nice. The crostini and the pesto pasta is very nice. The owner was kind enough to explain whatever we asked. I had loved the place the 1st time.
However, I was shocked when I went there again a few months later. The taste had gone down and there was something wrong with the food overall.
The other thing is this place is way to costly for the kind of food they serve. The management has to revisit and think what is going wrong!
Luckily both the times, the Chocolate Moose we tested, was really nice.
A good place to have Italian food, if you stay nearby.
Macaulay Fernandes
Food is simply amazing bt Drs nt mch croud.. Last time I went in Dr was a guitarist.. N it wnt quiet well along with d flow.. Preferably 1 of d best places in orlem 2 dine!
Kimberley Flanagan
My favourite restaurant in Malad by far. The salmon linguini with a glass of white wine ( Chenin Blanc to be precise) is sublime. And the thin crust pizzas are a must!
Abhishek Kadam
Worst service from one of fine dine restaurant with decent taste. Food is nice specially dessert and dum biryani though we had veg. Try cheese mousse and banana custard.
JinxedGemini
Exorbitantly priced and definitely not worth what you pay for. The food is mediocre and don't even get me started on the portions -- they seem to be trying hard to follow the fine dining concept but oh boy, have they got it wrong. For starters -- soiled table cloth, no fancy silverware, plating = 0, portion size = similar to fine dining where they serve you a small portion just so you taste it, taste = average, authenticity = no where close to the menu description. We ordered for a chicken gilafi as a starter and got served what looked like one kebab cut into 6 small pieces.. Next we tried to play it safe by ordering the mutton biryani which ended up being coated in too much masala which killed all the other flavors. Dessert was the rose and rum tiramisu which was their only saving grace.

To sum up - Not worth the price you pay. No where close to fine dining. Fancy descriptive menu descriptions do not match what is actually served to you.

P.S. - Zomato classifies this place as casual dining. No casual dining place prices a single dish at Rs 2500 (NZ lamb chops). I can bet you anything it is just our humble old Indian lamb that they will serve you.
NILESH D
Wanted to give zero rating but gave 1. Booked a table on Valentine's Day and when we came we saw that they have a special menu for the day and nothing else will be served to you from the regular menu except pasta. Dude!! Gimme a break, someone booking a table in advance as it is a special day and all the restaurants are booked with reservation and you are forcing the customers with a menu which nobody is interested.
The menu had 2 Veg n non veg starter. 2 main course and a limited menu for dessert which didn't interested me at all. When we asked for a bruschetta from the regular menu the guy told that it won't be served today. My question is for the management that why do you make people to eat from such a small menu with and exorbitant price list? Is the management incapable of handling people during peak hours.
And BTW if you wanna know that did we ordered something, to let you know, we left the table without ordering anything.
Vaibhavi Naik
I had been to this restaurant today for valentines day...!! It was the most disappointing restaurant experience of my life....It took us 30 mins to get table which was alright because of the valentines eve....However after getting table, We were served water after asking twice which is not at all expected from a fine dine restaurant....The service is way too pathetic...The food was served after 45 mins...Most of the tables were complaining of the slow and unprofessional service...Last but not the least even the bill took 15 mins to reach us....I would never ever visit this restaurant again and would suggest everyone to avoid this place on any special occasion as it ruined our valentine day...!!

Last evening been here with a very special friend of mine,it was a perfect ambience to meet someone special after a longtime i.e sweet, calm, cool & music playing in background were just perfect.About food,it was just awesome.....everything from Cavalier's Salad to Paneer Tikka to Chicken Pizza to Red Thai Fish Curry, all were just awesome.....Truly recommended

Great ambience.. OK food.. Slow service.. Food quality was OK but the quantity is less for the price you pay.. The worst thing is the slow service.. Love the setting and ambience..

My Family's favourite Restaurant !
Owned by parent's very good friends, this place gives you a great Fine Dinning experience. Great Staff, Amazing Chef !!

DON'T GO . If you are interested in wasting your money then consider this EXPENSIVE place with PATHETIC FOOD.

We ordered ravioli which was part of their appetisers . It seemed that someone has tried to learn how to make ravioli when I placed the order. We left after having two pieces.

Next was veg Thai curry . We were informed that it comes with jasmine rice . We took a sigh of relief but it ended the moment our order came . Veg Thai curry without coconut milk in it . Their staff says that's how we make it !! Really !!!!!!!!!
I asked them to add coconut milk to it so that the dark green oily thin curry becomes light green and thick . Telling a restaurant how to make a dish ! Wow ..
Rice ... Frozen half cooked rice straight out of the fridge . They forgot to cook them !
When we showed them , the staff was not even apologetic . He changed the rice . They were hot and uncooked . And they were NOT jasmine rice . This pathetic dish for 650 rupees plus taxes!
Thai pavilion at TAj serves at 1000...
If the management thinks that they can serve Any crap at such high prices and people will patronise them then they really need to get a reality check done !

Strong advice to people considering eating at this restaurant – DON’T DO THIS TO YOURSELVES!

This restaurant is in serious need for better management and maybe redo their menu while they are at it! From serving stale food with huge delays between courses to having talented but very loud live musicians, the restaurant succeeded in literally ruining our evening. What is worse is that a dinner for 4 at the Laughing Cavalier does not come at a cheap price!

Being residents of Malad, we have been patrons of the Laughing Cavalier since it started many years ago. To be honest, we had always been fans of their food, ambience, and overall experience – until our visit their last month!

It started with the waiter spilling a goblet of cold water on my mother, then followed by a 45min wait before serving the first appetizer, then another 20min for the second appetizer, and then another ridiculous 50min for the main course! We literally spent close to 3 hours in the restaurant! After a point we simply lost our appetites and wanted to go home!

Even if the food served was good (or even average for that matter), we might have overlooked the other problems – but serving smelly stale prawns (little pieces of rubber frozen-to-death), dry stringy chicken, and delaying serving each course is just unacceptable.

What started off as a fusion restaurant with excellent quality is merely a pathetic shadow in that name today!
Vidya
Had been here recently, ambience is good but food isn't that great and considering the service, takes long for the food to arrive. Non-veg dishes tastes better than veg and the place sure is costly, not exactly worth the price.
Anuj Shah
Good food, nice ambience, superb bar and two finest persons playing violin and piano to set the right mood! If you like retro piano music along with drinks & dinner then this place is one of the best!
Niharika Sabnis
Great ambience.. Amazing vibes.. Sorted and very well maintained proper Italian menu .. However, jinxed by high pricing and less quantity.. Taste wise, quite authentic and enjoyable for the tastebuds. The hospitality is also quite mentionable and so is the huge spread of liquors and alcohol they offer. We had the pizzas, gnocchi and pastas. The quantity issue however persisted throughout. Over all a good place to go for a date night and not with a bunch of hogging foodies.
Amar Mashkaria
Amazing place. The food is very good. Ambiance is also great. Pricing is a bit on higher size but worth it. The guitarist on weekends is amazing.
Denise
Impressive interiors. Delightful ambience and delicious italian food. Loved the chocolate cake and enjoyed the live music. Perfect place for a relaxed sunday dinner.
Bhavin Modi
The hotel has a superb ambiance, plus the live music was a cheery on the cake. We ordered a pizza which was amazing. But I thought the food was a little more over priced. A single pizza costed me around Rs 950/-. No regrets for the pizza that was served.
Amit Gala
Absolutely slow service.. Very casual attitude of staff..food was strictly OK.. Pasta wasn't cooked properly..Won't recommend.. Ambience was nice..background music was good, but that is not the primary reason u go to a restaurant..
Yogesh Malvankar
Wonderful food, excellent ambiance and amazing service. Had a wonderful experience during my every visit at Laughing Cavalier.

The seating arrangement was absolutely comfortable.

Had stuff like Mutton Biryani, stone-grilled pizzas, smoked chicken, kabab etc... All 3
items were fabulous.

Undoubtedly value for money
Akash Shrivastava
It's a fabulous restaurant that appeals to my epicurean taste. The pizzas are perfectly baked in a proper oven and the cuisine is international and the piece de resistance is the dessert. A relaxed ambience very old world good fine dining experience in Malad. Hate those noisy places frequented by tasteless and crass loud Mumbai crowds in restaurants. The continental fare is on par comparable to the best in Mumbai. Also the serenading duo playing the acoustic guitar and Colin to soulful tunes make it the perfect getaway within the city far from the maddening over commercial crowds that throng restaurants in malls.
Pritidesai32

Had been here a couple of times before. If you ignore the approach to the place the decor is actually nice.
The menu is limited and sort of pricey for the place and taste
While some of dishes are good like their mushroom salad, chicken kebab, Thai curry rice the pasta was a disaster.
I had the chef special grilled chicken and cous cous which was strictly ok and put me down
But the main let down for this place is not the food but the service which is very slow
The salad for me came later than the appetiser which was disappointing
Overall if you have patience to wait for 2-3hrs for a 3 course meal then you can try this place

Had been here to celebrate my dad's birthday. they had a live pianist which was awesome. the food portion is just too small. to make the reservation I spoke to Robert. he was extremely helpful. the menu is a little off track with not typical stuff like roti naan but yet they have a biryani. the biryani was served with dal tadka and was delicious. maybe some reinvention in the menu would do good. I had been earlier about 4 years back. that time the feel was very fresh. maybe that hampered by ability to enjoy the ambience. they do have some private seating tents which I felt was wasteful. its outside not air-conditioned and they charge a bomb. the approach road also looks shady but malad has limited fine dine options with live music. it wont wow u but wont displease u all the same.

The worst experience of my life. I had gone to this place for someone's bday party or else I wud never even step there! The waiters were beyond rude. One of them told us off saying I have another table I'm dng a favor on u by serving u water! They did not even care to hear what we were saying. The food was average and everything including a simple ice tea would take 30-35 minutes minimum. None of the drinks were cold. This is a very pathetic restaurant with bad bad service. I would'nt recommend it to anyone. Hope it shuts down soon!

Well I love dining here as you can see your food being cooked straight from the kitchen. Fine dine in your plate, the food is always well plated. I personally enjoyed the chocolate mousse and the pastas here

Superb food , just came to know they use olive oil it's healthy and yum . Don't mind spending lil more money but health is wealth so guy must try . It's worth giving a shot.

Had been there some months back with family on a Sunday!! Ambience is good and staff polite!! But its very over priced and the food is average. Nothing very extraordinary. And the service is slow!!

Had been here recently, service was very slow overall found its over priced worth visiting once.

Very less quantity and the place ia very inside in malad. Strange on a sunsay place was so empty.

The big saxophone outside was brilliant!!! The interiors were great. The music was soulful. The kitchen was super clean. The food was OK.
But the portions were too small. They took ages to bring food (I literally felt hunger then no hunger, and hunger again while waiting for my scaramoza ) . And when they finally got it, it was imbibed with hair!!!
Never going back again, at least
for a while

I really had high expectations from this place, but like always things can go a bit awry.

We wanted to try some spaghetti, so we ordered the "Pollo Alla Parmigiana". The platter was disappointingly not good, the crust had a sorta off the hook taste and the spaghetti was the worst one I've ever had. So this is such a no-go for a recommendation!

The ambience is brilliant but the food isn't.

And yes like every review there is something I do admire and like, this one has good cocktails. I had two Sangrias which is brilliant and soothing.

Overall: I ain't falling for that one again!

The place was amazing and the ambience was really romantic (couples would definitely like it). The service was quite efficient, kind and overwhelming. There would be singer with his guitar to play your favourite songs and trust me it feels really worth N special if u r with your loved ones. We ordered raviolli with unapologetic cheez $ mayonnaise.Rest assured the calories are worth it. But you are likely to get your money 's worth. Cheers ????

This is one of the restaurants which serves you good gourmet pizza. The wine collection is beautiful. Desserts, especially, tiramisu, is something you wouldn't want to miss. The ambience is very serene and they take good care of your needs. A good place for a family dinner. Mark Parekh plays the piano on weekends. Okay, this place is A must.

The location of the restaurant is such that people will surely miss it however word of mouth worked for me and I landed there for dinner......good ambience n eatable food however the restaurant is pricey

The most pathetic place I have ever been to. Zero options in food. Its an eye wash for north indian crusine. . Only ambiance is good. Nothing else is worth a visit. And yes I got cheated using Zomato. Dont pick a place with their rating. Useless.

Its a weirdly located place ,hard to describe the entrance which seemed like an entry gate of a bungalow.
The ambiance was good and had some smooth jazz playing finely complimented by the incandescent lighting. The place is surprisingly empty and it seems as though it doesn't attract much attention.

To the business end of the review ,I ordered a virgin mojito ,Patate Ripene and a Rustic veggie platter. The mojito was good and the Patate Ripene was awesome but the Rustic veggie was a disappointment. Although the paste coupled alongside the platter did manage to compensate partly for the same but nonetheless the platter was average.

The restaurants a tad expensive and was not a VFM. However they do have some exciting dishes on the menu if ya don't give a damn for the buck.

So I happen to visit this place on sunday with my friends and it turned out to be a big big disappointment for all of us. Firstly there is very less options available for food. In the total food items available, 40% of them were pizzas. Secondly the service is very very very pathetic. They took almost an hour for bringing a simple cheese garlic bread. We have to constantly remind them of our order placed as if that the only thing that we have got to do. Plus the quantity which they give is such small that it can't even satisfy a single person and the rates are also not at all worthy against the quantity and quality that they offer. The pizzas which we ordered were so thin and there was hardly any toppings on.
The only good dish was "Dum Aloo". This place certainly fails to impress the first time goers.
As I had suggested this place to my friends I was the person who ultimately had to take all the blame and face the embarrassment.

Instead of this place we would have gone to a medium restaurant and have enjoyed a lot more there.

P.S : People who are planning to visit this place for the first time I would sincerely not recommend it.
Utterly Disappointment...!!!

My First Impression of the place ,a hidden gem...good ambience fusion food .But that's it ,it was the end ...everything from there on was a regret of going there.

1. On a weekday they had more people in the kitchen then outside to serve or take orders.(you can see it ..the have an open kitchen)

2.it took them more then 10mins (plus me asking then shouting excuse me numerous times just to get attention of the 1single person on the floor) to get me ice and water for my drinks...20mins + to get onions from the kitchen(again same requesting, asking ,shouting and then I finally I finished my dish before they got me the onions)

3. After the above two scenarios they told me it would take 20mins for the dish to be prepared(which is fine) buy for ice water onions????

4.then cane my pasta, the pasta was not cooked or bolied properly... When I told the server about it.he said he has served 4pastas that night and no body Complained ...after a lot of arguments the guy said he can try and make it better for us(appreciate that) but by that time were already tired and disgusted by the SERVICE so we decided to leave.

And the pasta was charged for in the bill...even though we returned the dish.I didn't expect that from such a fancy place.

Over all my personal experience ...never going there again.Would not like to say NO to others. You can decide for yourselves .
