Being a non- vegetarian foodie, I avoid having vegetarian food in restaurants. However, at some point, you get bored and want to have something different and that’s when I thought of visiting Veg restaurant.
I was craving for some dhaba food and decided to visit this famous ‘Jay Bajrag Dhaba’ that is on the highway.

I visited this dhaba after a very long time and on entering, I saw the drastic changes.
Earlier this dhaba was so simple but now they have completely changed their interior though it’s yet simple. In the entrance on both sides, you have shops attached to Dhaba. One is Falooda/ Ice- Gola shop and other is Paan shop.
As compared to earlier now, the dhaba is well organized and maintained. Uniforms are provided to staff and prices have increased compared to their earlier menu but it's the same if compared to other restaurants.
After going through the whole menu, I found that there’s not much variety in starters (not wanted to eat panner) and decided to move to their main course.

Mix Special Veg:
A mix of vegetables like Panner, Tomato, Onion, Green Peas, etc.
The bhaji was indeed special as the masalas and the thick gravy tasted awesome.
Simple ingredients yet delicious sabji served on my plate. .

Dal Khichdi:
It’s my all time favorite and when you want something light on your tummy what else could be a better option than having Dal Khichdi.
It tasted nice and the texture and consistency were just perfect. A one- pot meal with mild spices yet so flavourful, protein-rich and nutritious comfort food.
Dal khichdi is incomplete without Papad and yeah I had Papad and curd (it was thick- felt like homemade) on my table.

Though my tummy was full, I wanted to taste their Falooda and ordered Choco- chip Falooda.
It was good but personally didn’t like much.

This place is on the highway of Vasai easily accessible.
Always crowed during the lunch hours and most preferred destination for the people working around there.
We had tried Dal Khichdi there which tasted amazing and had a good garlicky flavor to it.
They also give you Dahi and Papad along with the dish to complete the experience.
Another top running item during summer is the Chaas or Buttermilk. Which is very good in taste and very refreshing.
They serve it in one glass or you can also order a complete bottle which serves 3-4 people.
They main reason why people love this place is for it's original dhabba experience on the highway and the taste of it's authentic Punjabi food.
You also get different varieties of Gola here plus the Pan they serve will help you complete your meal.
The service over here is also very quick and staff is also very friendly.

3.5 is purely for the food that they serve. this is the place whr u can try any of the new dishes u want without any hesitation bcoz u definitely gonna like it. dont go on the basis of ambiance it is okyish but the food is great.

The ambiance of the Dhaba is ok types but the food quantity and taste is best. The place provides authentic taste within quick time at very nominal rates. Best part it GST rates are normalized in the prices which best known hotel also failed to do so.( prices are reduced to include GST for arriving at final payable price)
The restaurant is placed below the Sativali bridge of vasai. You should also try the falooda and pan available at the counter outside the restaurant.

Original review: I have been visiting Bajrangi Dhaba since 13 years now. Very accommodating, very warm, very hospitable staff. Good food, very dhaba type. Chaas is must! Try paneer Paratha, stuffing is mesmerizing. They should have at least one AC zone for family since it gets terribly hot in the noon.
Best place to enjoy food tests like homemade. All the working people are very kind and helpful. I would recommend this place for a family dinner.
Falooda, Sundaes and Malai gola...heaven for guys with a sweet tooth. Must visit.

I visited this dhaba, after hearing about it from a lot of people. Even my close friends were raving about the food. So on my way back from dahanu, i decided to give it a go & i was not disappointed! The place is with basic decor and the staff is down to earth & warm. It was the food that was the deal maker. We ordered paneer palak, chappati, dal and butter milk. The paneer palak was spot on with no colour, no excess masalas and paneer was of good quality, most importantly it was not oily. The dal was my favorite as it was mildly spiced, good texture and great taste. After a long time, i tasted dal like this in a restaurant. The chappatis were also hot and soft and fresh. Butter milk was average but it did compliment the whole dining experience.
I strongly recommend it for perfect highway dhaba taste and quality food. Avoid weekends!

Though ambience wise the dhaba looks simple . The food was amazing.
Paneer paratha, mixed veg and chaos bottle were tasty and well made. The service was fast.
Highly recommend this place if you love North Indian food.
Note - they have golas too though I didn't have the appetite to try it!

Looking for a good quality veg dhaba on national highway JBD is one of the best option.
They have maintained a very high level of hygiene. Taste is amazing, quality is also good & price wise also they are very competitive.
One must try butter aaloo paratha and tea over here it's highly recommended.
This dhabba has a big space. But inside ambience is still very poor. Food is still good to have but lost its taste too much. Accessibility is easier when you move towards gujrat from Mumbai. Vice - versa it's tough to go there.
