This is one of the best places in Mumbai which serves Delicious Maharashtrian food. Their Ukdiche Modak, Kothimbir wadi, Aluchi wadi, Chakli, Bhajniche thalipith and Upwas misal are the bestsellers and a must try. Go there as a group as you can try a lot of dishes here. We also tried their Dosa n Pavbhaji and they were also good. It's situated right next to the Siddhivinayak temple Absolutely recommended

Very tasty breakfast and snack. Small restaurant which is always occupied. The taste is very good and the price is affordable. Always eat in this restaurant whenever you visit sidhivinayak.

This restaurant is located near the very Famous Temple Siddhivinayak.. It's a small Pocket Friendly restaurant which offers variety of fresh and delicious food, very quick service and lots and lots of options in Modak as the name suggests Modakam!!! Although the ambience is a bit okay the food and service is great! The staff was quiet friendly.. Jairam served us really well.. to begin with we had the beverages.. juices are never a bad idea... We had the Mousambi Juice very yummy and The Maramari Juice which was a combination of pineapple and Mousambi Juice.. then we had some mouthwatering starters called the Cheese Pakoda and Paneer Chilly.. paneer chilly was too good and it's recommended.. Moving on to the main course we had the Paneer Tikka Masala and Butter Garlic Naan! The naan was fresh and soft.. paneer was good! Also had the Kolhapuri Biryani which was great.. Meal is incomplete without desserts.. we had the Falooda... Well who doesn't love Falooda ?? Had the Kesar Falooda and Rose Falooda came along with little vanilla ice cream.. liked the rose Falooda more.. overall visit Siddhivinayak Temple cause it's really beautiful and have a pocket friendly meal at this restaurant..

Visited this place with my colleagues as a get together, the placece is just located next to siddhi vinayak mandir, the ambience of the place I descent with a beautiful sitting, the place also serves fresh juices. So in snacks we tried the Cheese pav bhaji it was good loaded with cheese and medium spicy served with maasala pav, then we had the paper masala butter dosa Highly recommended dosa I would say, it was huge crispy served with white chutney sambhar the taste was also awesome. Then we had veg grilled sandwich with Cheese, it was superb crispy loaded with cheese and veggies. We also had the cheese pakoda which was too good it was soft from inside and crispy layer outside one bit and it will melt in it. Also try the kokam sharbat it was nice, over all the food and service was superb loved it.

Just in front of Siddhi Vinayak temple. Space is less but always having a rush and one has to wait 20 minutes at least in peak hours. Food is awesome and service is also good. Any choice from the menu will make you happy for sure.

Check out this Restaurant in Prabhadevi (Near Siddhivinayak Temple) called @modakam. Starting with the ambience it’s quite alright. In the evening time there would be no difficulty in finding seats. In snacks, Kothimbir Vadi was really good. They give with ketchup and chutney and same with Cheese Pakoda. It was very rich in quality but a little oily. The way they present their dishes is exceptional. Modakam Special Biryani in Main Course was the best out of all the dishes. It covers in 3 types of Biryani: Veg Biryani, Hyderabadi Biryani and Kashmiri Biryani. Kaju Dingri was sweet in taste filled with lots of Kajus on the top. Veg Maharaja along with Kulcha was also very well presented and really good in taste as well. Solkadhi was alright. Their speciality in desserts is Ukdiche Modak in which they give one big modak filled with halwa stuffing. Kharvas was like pudding topped with dry fruits, very good in taste is recommended. Modakam Special Biryani is highly recommended as it includes tomatoes on the outer side of the plate in circle filled with pineapple pieces.

If you are looking for best Authentic dinning experience then visit this place Modakam. This place serves variety of dishes. It has small ambience and serves all veg food. Mango season without Aamras Puri? Nah. That's why I ordered Aamras Puri, traditionally aamras is served with poori and this combo of aamras puri is liked by many people. Next we had Ukdiche Modak is a traditional maharashtrian steamed sweet dish. Prepared with rice flour dough and coconut – jaggery. Modakam Special Thali, Including Chapati, Paneer Bhaji, Dal Fry, Jeera Rice, Dahi vada, Papad, Pickle, Fruit salad, Lemon-onion for test. So much flavours in one thali at just 175 /- ₹. Unbelievable ryt? They believe in serving the seasonal dishes in their thali. For dessert we had all time favourite Caramel Custard. Had a wonderful ans great experience trying their authentic dishes. Specially Ukdiche Modak (highly recommended). All items served hot on your plate. Try this outlet for amazing and traditional experience for those who want authentic food visit this place and satisfy yourself. Overall great experience do visit!!!

My cousins came to Mumbai from Punjab for the 1st time last week for their summer vacation . One top of their tourist list was a visit to Siddhivinayak Temple . We had an entire day planned for shopping , watching the latest Avengers movie , sight seeing & eating out . Post the darshan at the temple after standing in the long queue we were highly exhausted cause of the heat & dint have any energy left to travel any further .Yes we were all famished after a hectic day & wanted to have good food . Just at the entry of Siddhivinayak temple there is a liliputian eater called Modakam . We all literally attacked the tiny restaurant which is all veg . At the entry itself you are greeted to a displat full of extremely tempting assorted varieties of exotic & premium quality modaks which you simply cannot miss . We ordered the ukdiche modak ( steamed modak ) as its the Maharashtrian speciality which my Pubjabi relatives had heard about but never tried . The outer cover of the modak was made of soft melt in the mouth rice dough & filled with jaggery & grated coconut flavoured with elaichi .They simply fell in love with this delicacy & packed a box to relish at home . Next we tried the famous misal pav with is another famous Maharashtrain speciality . Note : Usually I have been disappointed eating misal at various outlets in Mumbai as it is overly oily , immensly spicy & lacks quality . But to my utter surprise the misal at Modakam was simply Fabulous ! It was perfectly balanced , was not at all oils , not at all spicy ( which all age group people can eat ) served with soft pav . Yes we all enjoyed it & couldnt stop digging into it .Highly recommended . Next we ordered the kothimbir vadi which was again superlative in all respect .Shaped in triangles & not at all oily again perfectly balanced it was sheer quality food . We were all curious to try the special thaali priced at ₹180/- . Oh my God ! Unbelievable in all respect they served on a plate shaped like a leaf having 2 bowls of paneer gravy vegetables , 1bowl of dal tadka , jeera rice ,fresh fruit bowl , 3 large chapati's , pickle , salad , papad & dahi wada . Each & every item was bursting with flavours & we simply couldnt accept the fact that so much food with such high quality can be available in a place like Mumbai for a mere ₹180/- . The quantity is generously sufficient for 2 people .Highly Recommended . Post the hearty meal for desserts we tried the fresh aamras & kharwas . Again we were taken aback with the freshness & top notch quality of both the desserts . Both were perfectly balanced in sweetness which all age group people can enjoy as it was not overly sweet as available in rest of the places . We were highly content with the overall experience as the tiny restaurant is clean , hygenic & the service is at lightening speed . I have to mention . This place is VALUE FOR MONEY !

According to the Hindu mythology, modak is believed to be Ganesh's favourite food, and hence he is also known as Modakapriya, someone who likes modak. As per the rituals, 21 modaks are offered to the Lord Gajanan as bhog and eventually served as prasad to all the devotees. Ganesha is the Lord of Wisdom, Success and Good Luck. This is how the restaurant derives its name – MODAKAM (Prasad from Lord Ganesha). You will also find a big modak carved at the top of the restaurant. Modakam is situated right outside the iconic and famous Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir. The temple has its foundation 2 centuries ago on 19th November, 1801. A small temple has now turned into a grand premise housing many deities. The Siddhivinayak Ganesha idol is quite unique and unusual as it was carved out of a single black stone and has Ganesha’s trunk to the right instead of left. The temple is situated in the heart of city Mumbai. Centrally located and easily accessible via various public transport services. Modakam is a pure vegetarian restaurant with multiple fast food options. It serves variety of maharashtrian, south Indian and Punjabi cuisines. They also specialize into fasting food items as well. Starters : KOTHAMBIR WADI, an authentic maharashtrian dish, had a beautiful colour of green and brown. Fried perfectly to make the outer layer crisp. Served along with coriander chutney and ketchup. A must-have!!! CHEESE PAKODA, one of the most delicious snack dishes, were bought hot from the kitchen. Crispy layer outside and melting cheese on the inside was a perfect mix. Main course: Restaurant has a live PAV BHAJI counter right at its entrance. The aroma of pav bhaji fills the ambience and you can’t hold back in ordering one. The dish surpasses the expectations. Many devotees come walking to the temple from different parts of Bombay and haven’t eaten anything till the darshan is over. Hearty meal of PANEER TIKKA MASALA AND ROTI is a big recommendation to anyone looking for a full family meal. After all the hard work, pamper your system with some protein. Juices/Milkshakes: King of fruits and yogurt, tongue’s delight is MANGO LASSI. Perfectly sweetened, not too thick nor too thin is a healthy smoothie along with food. How about a feast for your eyes and taste buds? A must try is ROSE FALOODA. Modakam also adds chunks of jelly pieces. Kind of took me back to my childhood days. Desserts: Ever thought of a spicy ice cream? GUAVA ICE CREAM with sprinkle of chilli powder was a blast of taste’s in the mouth. It is a wonderful mix of sweet and spicy (very little). Almost felt like eating guava fruit with masala. Modakam aaye aur Modak nahi khaya toh kya khaya? But how about modak with a twist – MODAK ICE CREAM. It is unique and different. Modakam’s speciality. So overall it was a good experience with multiple flavours... Service is quick & rates are reasonable.. Definitely a good option for some quick snacking with family & friends. Do come for darshan and a hearty meal.

Whenever I visit Siddhivinayak Temple, i ensure that i have eaten from this restaurant i.e. breakfast or lunch.

This time it was combination of many types of food i.e. south indian, Maharashtrian and Punjabi.

This is very small resturant but they offer lots of different varieties of food. We had:

Masala Uttapam - 4/5 where soft with lots of patato masala, sambar and coconut chutney

Khotambari vadi - 5/5 - this is Maharashtrian dish which consist of small square pieces mix of methi and other flours and half cook/bolied. It was very nicely cooked and must try.

Paneer tikka masala - 3/5- somehow taste was ok and had chapati with it.

Caramel custard - 3/5 nice pudding but caramel sauce was missing.

Overall it was great experience.

If you visit siddhivinayak it is a very good restaurant to have veg food
The_Lean_Foodie
Worst experience was eating pani puri here at modaks, first of all the quality of the pani puri was worst and the taste was also worst. When we asked for sukha puri they only gave one and the staff talked very rudely the worst.

Some of the dishes in the hotel modakam are made in a very good manner and taste. The hotel is very crowded even twelve months a year because of the restaurant that is here to cook It has a slightly different taste to the hand. The hotel owner should provide the customer with the convenience of a well-planned cold environment by increasing the hotel space.
House Of Delight
Modakam is located at the footsteps of siddhivinayak mandir. The outlet is very small and compact. My friends recommended that lets try this out. The place is generally packed because of siddhivinayak mandir. The prices are pocket friendly. The menu is elaborate. The ambiance is great. We ordered
Ukdiche modak(must try if you visit)
Kothimbir vadi
Butter paneer
Caramel custard
Paneer Kolhapuri

The curd rice had at least 40 pieces of green chilies. Have eaten tadka curd rice many times from various places. This was by far the worst. I had to throw away the full dish. It was inedible.

The Puri Bhaji was superb! But the potato fries I
ordered had no salt in it .... I’m guessing coz it was fasting food ( not sure )

Modakam is a small restaurant next to Siddhivinayak Temple and is famous for its fast food and sweets. I visited them recently to buy few modaks and totally loved the varieties they had on offer. My favourite from their ganesh chaturthi-special sweet menu are lychee and pistachio. From their food menu, I tried wada pav and dosa and both were great. Food is not just economical but also of good quality.
Its the festive season, and what accompanies this enthralling experience is the authentic and traditional food.To deal with your food related dilemma,Modakam is a great solution. They provide 100% traditional cuisines at affordable rates. The ukdiche modak which they offer, which is a maharastrian sweet dish offering to lord ganesha,is a steamed coalescence of rice floor, jaggery and coconut. It is extremely rich in terms of taste and texture, and really fulfilling.Their other variants of modaks are equally delicious. The pedhas which they have are also unique, and all of their offerings are packed with abundant dryfruits.Truly a divine eating experience !

I'm going through with reviews of all and pictures of foods and I saw modak... So I thought I have to go for my boyfriend he is a modak lover and it was his birthday. And all the waiters are good to talk.
• So we first tried out MENDU VADA. The taste of sambhar is yumm man.. I think if sambhar and chutney is good than the mendu vada goes with best. 10/10
• Then we ordered DAHI VADA. I'm not a Dahi vada fan but it was good until I saw rai (mustard) in dahi vada and I hate to eat mustard otherwise it's all good. 8/10
• And finally we had a MODAKAM SPECIAL THALI there was 2 bhaji, 3 chapatis, roasted papad, dal, jeera rice, pickle, onion & lemon, dahi vada, fruit salad, modak. 10/10

----- The hotel is small so sometime we have to adjust with another persons for seat.(I didn't like it so much because I want to have food with peace and with my own people and NOT some anyone who just has eyes on our food) that's the reason of my not giving rating 5/5.

-----And the food quantity is good and it all costs for ₹360.

Modakam has to be one of the well known eatery due to its location as it is located near to Siddhivinayak temple. This place is located next to sidhivinyak mandir so it is mostly covered with the devotees and turns out very busy but they manage to provide excellent service and great taste
I usually try modak and misal pav here

if you are around Lower Parel then obviously some divine intervention at Siddhivinayak is something you need but all the computing and the Hustle bustle of daily life makes you hungry and you are always looking to eat out and with that you have to make sure food is pocket friendly therefore I went 2 to this quick fast and efficient service place near Siddhivinayak and had a good meal of paneer sabzi with rotis and to my surprise this was the best I have eaten since a very long time therefore I recommend this place very very strictly

So as usual on a Tuesday I always go regularly since my my childhood to one of the greatest temples in Mumbai and that is how I landed up up at Siddhivinayak and a small restaurant called modakkam next to it. this was obviously not a planned visit but to my surprise with yummy modakam desserts and amazing food South Indian and Indian quick service hot to the table this place surprised me and we as a group of four ate a lot with paying hardly what we expected to pay. Channa batura where's my favourite among all the South Indian and Indian dishes on the table therefore I recommend this place highly every time you visit the God you should visit the god of food
Radhica Dhuri
I’d gone to pray at Siddhivinayak while leaving and collecting my chappals I was hungry and found a nice place to pick up Modak, and also eat some good Pav Bhaji idli sambar and grilled sandwich, this is the best food I've eaten in a long time, full marks to you great food please do go here.
Aby (Abhishek Jain)
Went to meet the divine power that would run my kitchen and fill my belly all year, and to a pleasant surprise my prayers was answered so quickly, as everyone knows getting darshan at siddivinyak itself is a toll on the body and a task, but god is there and right at the exit exists a small but yummy food place, called Moddakam, Had a refreshing lassi, and modakkam special thaali there and trust me they zapped me with such lovely food at such reasonable cost, its truly said that smaller the place the better the food (sorry 5 stars being a little biased here ;)) fantastic food a must try every time you visit the mandir or even the area you and your pocket cannot be more satisfied than this.

Modakam is a simple and decent restaurant situiated right beside Siddhivinayak. It serves a great variety in vegetarian foodstuffs and is known for it's delicious modaks.
As it is right outside the temple, it serves the best place to have lunch or dinner post darshan.

What we ordered:

🔸Paneer Pakoda ❤️💯
A perfect dish for this rainy weather. It was served hot with sauce and mint chutney. The quantity was so great. Paneer was soft and the pakodas were great.

🔹Paneer Chilli Dry 🍢❤️
Soft cubes of paneer nicely tossed in the sauces. This dish was more like pepper paneer and was spicy and will go well with any fried rice. Loved it!

🔸Mushroom Fried Rice 🍄❤️💯
This was definitely my favorite. The rice was so well prepared and the mushroom had a nice smoky flavor to it. Just loved the taste and the portion. We had it with paneer chilli.

🔹Paav bhaji
This was a decent paav bhaji. For anyone who wants to have a quick meal this is a good option. Nothing great about it but it was good.

🔸Mango milkshake🍹
This was just delicious. It was refreshing and pulpy. Only that it had chunks of ice in between. But it was great!

🔹Modak Icecream 🍦❤️💯💯
This is a must must have here. The modaks are definitely great but this was something new and just delicious. It had the Modak filling in between and creamy ice cream on top. It was so creamy and just delicious. Definitely worth a try!

🔸Caramel Custard🍮❤️
We were pretty full at the end of our meal but this custard was so light and tasty. Perfect caramel flavor, not too sweet and a very light dessert to end your meal.

The service was very speedy. It was almost packed in evening. And orders were pouring in as it was a Sankashti. But the service was still on point. The ambience is decent.
This restaurant is pretty affordable for anyone and everyone and serves good quality and quantity dishes.

This restaurant is right outside of siddhivinayak. Most people who visits here who come to mandir. They serves amazing fast food. Pav bhaji here is mouth watering. Staff is very polite.

So after standing in queues for darshan at Siddhivinayak Temple, I had to chomp on some carbs and luckily I found this place right beside the temple.

Modakkam is a small, usually crowded place where you go for a quick snack or for a full fledged meal. Ambience is just like any other family restaurant, basic. Service is good.

And we ate:
Sabudana Vada, Mix Veg Noodles and Cheese Pav Bhaji. Food had good taste, also was light on pocket. What else one needs. So food was 5/5.

Overall 5/5.

This restaurant is just outside of gates on siddhivinayak Mandir in prabhadevi. They serve some lips smacking fast foods. Dosa here is must try. Pav bhaji was little sweet but may be ideal for people who dont like spicy food. Its mango season so they also serve chill mango shakes. You should try kharwas here in dessert.

Happy World Cup season to all my lovely foodies !!!!
Now if we want team INDIA to win then “Ganesh Bhagwan ka pooja toh banta hi hai boss “ 😂😂😂

Yes my lovely foodies if you happen to visit Siddhivinayak Temple you must visit Modakam. It’s a perfect place to fulfill your stomach after waiting in long queues for Ganesh darshan. Modakam is a small place but literally a budget friendly place that offers you lovely food items.

Our orders here were medu wada with sambar, mobile dosa ( 😂😂 not the dosa which has a mobile in it 😜), choley bhatura, Paneer pav bhaji, Masala buttermilk (Yummy like anything) kesar falooda with ice cream and how can we forget to order MODAK when we were at a place which is named after it. So yes, we ordered Modak which is commonly known as UKDICHE MODAK & Modak Icecream 🍦

I am being super honest to everyone who is reading this review. Trust me guyz everything tasted simply delicious and marvelous. I have no words to explain how yummy the sambar was. Masala buttermilk was soothing for me when I had it. I liked the mobile dosa a lot because it had three different types of dosas with three different types of masala inside those cute little dosa cones. It was served in a fantastic manner to us. The modaks that we ate were simply fab and reminded me of Ganesh festival celebration at my hometown. The most fascinating thing I ate here was MODAK ICE CREAM. Modak Ice cream is the special ice cream that they offer to their guests. It tasted just like modak but it actually was an ice cream. Yummy 😋!Guyz please don’t mind Incase you find this place little small and uncomfortable but this place is worth visiting. That is all I can say. Modakam is one of those restaurants which you will never mind coming again and again. The service is decent. Staff was the most humble I have ever seen. It is located besides Siddhivinayak Mandir and is crowded everyday. A poky place but a must try for sure.

What I had :
Mushroom Manchow Soup : A great to start with. It was a bit of spicy but the mushroom were extraordinary.

Spring Masala Dosa (Highly Recommended) : This was without a doubt the best dosa I have ever eaten. It was very crisp and stuffing of noodles was phenomenal.

Club Sandwich : It was obviously not better than the Dosa but it was good enough to have. Wafers with an average sandwich and tomato omelette made it good.

Paneer Chilly : The capsicum was a bit too much served with this. But again, the paneer was very soft and well cooked.

Hakka Noodles : It is not a Chinese restaurant but to my surprise the Chinese cuisine did not disappoint me at all. A great dish for your main course.

Mango Milkshake (Recommended) : A great thing to always have after a heavy meal. The mango season is going on and this made my day.

Chocolate Milkshake (Highly Recommended) : The best I have had in Milkshakes. An extraordinary shake with a slight flavour of chocolate was just spectacular.

Modakam is located near Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi, a small and decent place for quick bites as well as long too.

One may find it crowded but has good quality of food as well as fast service indeed.
I tried various dishes such as,

1. Sabudana Vada : It consists of 2 in one plate, size is decent and good. Just the crisp gets missed out.

2. Modak - It is one of the things you should definitely try, worth the money. Taste and purity upto the mark totally.

3. Mix Veg Noodles : Contains of all the vegetables with good crisp in the noodles and a good bowl of quantity.

4. Cheese Pav Bhaji : The taste isn't too spicy, it's medium with cheese overloaded and a good quantity which also matters.

As per the price range and the location, the place is worth going.

Visited this place to have my dinner this place is located at the entrance of very famous siddhi vinayak temple of Mumbai. It is easy to find this restaurant as this is located on the main road and you will find a big modak on the top of the restaurant so it is easy to locate this restaurant this place is always crowded as the temple next to the restaurant have a huge crowd. The name modakam itself is a devote to lord Ganesha this restaurant serves various verity of food mostly fast food is famous of this restaurant this is a small restaurant serving different vegetarian food whenever you visit the siddhi vinayak temple never miss this place you will find this place always crowded because of the food quality hear the food is good the location of the restaurant is best. As we went in to the restaurant this place is not so big but have decent sitting area we got our table as soon as we entered in to the restaurant the manager was good. This is bit low hygiene restaurant because of the crowd you see hear the food is good but the staffs have their own attitude they have some different attitude towards their customer this was the only thing which I did not like about this restaurant. The service was fast all thank to Mr. Shashikant who helped us in selecting the best dishes of their restaurant. He was good at his service. Coming to the food we had.

🔷WHAT WE HAD

1) Cheese Pakoda

2) Paneer Chilli

3) Veg Maharaja

4) Ukdiche Modak

5) Mango Juice

.

🔹Cheese Pakoda = This was good at its taste having a chesse cube inside the pakoda taste was good.

🔹Paneer Chilli = The Paneer was soft and taste was good but it was have lots of capsicum in it the amount of capsicum was too much.

🔹Veg Maharaja = This was something which made us full this was nicely presented having lots of cheese on it.

🔹 Ukdiche Modak = This modak is made during ganpati festival in Indian house's the outer cover of modak is made from rice and it filled with coconut and sugar and many more.

🔹Mango Juice = The Mango juice was thick and it was freshly made must try this.

.

The food we had was good everything was perfect accept the service. Very nice evening snacks, south Indian dishes and juices. Kothambirvadi, cheese pav bhaji are amongst the most delicious dishes here. Cold coffee too is great.

Recently visited Modakam, right outside iconic Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi. Small sweet vegetarian joint with multiple fast food cuisines and vast menu to suit everyone’s needs.

Everything is yellow about Modakam – furniture, staff clothing and modak carved on top of the restaurant.

Out of many items, a must try here are kothimbir wadi, paneer pakoda, pav bhaji, paneer tikka masala and mobile dosa. To go along with is Mango lassi and falooda. If you wish to opt for lighter options then fresh fruit juices are also refreshing.

Authentic modak (sweet delicacy) is a must in Modakam. They also offer some unique dessert options like guava and modak ice cream.

Over all good experience with friendly staff and quick service.

Modakam is a 40 year old, pure vegetarian restaurant with multiple fast food options. It serves variety of maharashtrian, south Indian and Punjabi cuisines. They also specialize into fasting food items as well.

Starters :

KOTHAMBIR WADI, an authentic maharashtrian dish, had a beautiful colour of green and brown.

Main course:

Restaurant has a live PAV BHAJI counter right at its entrance.

Juices/Milkshakes:

King of fruits and yogurt, tongue’s delight is MANGO LASSI. Perfectly sweetened, not too thick nor too thin is a healthy smoothie along with food.

How about a feast for your eyes and taste buds? A must try is ROSE FALOODA. Modakam also adds chunks of jelly pieces. Kind of took me back to my childhood days.

Desserts:

Ever thought of a spicy ice cream?

Recently visited Modakam. It's situated outside of Siddhivinayak Temple. It is a simple looking restaurant, which serves Maharashtrian, Punjabi and south Indian cuisine. During my visit to this place I've tried their Paneer Pakoda, Kothimbir vadi as appetizers. For main course we tried their Paneer tikka masala, which has good taste. Paneer was soft and tender, along with that we had butter rotis. Along with food tried Mango Milkshake, aamras and Modak Ice cream. Overall it was good experience. Being near Siddhi Vinayak temple has it's toll on prices of this restaurant. Although food has good taste yet prices are slightly higher.
Staff behavior was friendly & attentive.
All over experience of Modakam was good.

“Modakam” the name itself specifies that when you visit modakam, the must try item on there menu is Ukdiche Modak (steamed Modak). Absolutely delicious served hot with a dash of ghee!!
Btw this is a small restaurant situated in Prabhadevi just outside siddhi Vinayak temple which serves variety of maharashtrian, South Indian and punjabi cuisines.
This place is mostly visited by almost everyone who comes to seek Bappa’s blessings and the best part is its service is super fast and prices are reasonable as well.
We tried kothimbir wadi which was delicious and crisp, mobile dosa which was a combination on 3 varieties of mini dosas with variable stuffing which was pretty good and recommended. Then we hopped on to aamras which is seasonal and was fresh and soothing, we even tried kesar falooda which was very good as it was less sweet and we prefer it that way.
Staff is very friendly and definitely parking is a problem as it is situated on main road but overall we had a good experience and yes they do serve fasting items as well!!

Naan was bit thick for my liking but it was loaded with butter & went well with Sabji..

& for desserts we had Ukadiche Modak.. Modakam aake Modak nahi khaye to kya matlab hai na?? This is absolutely must try dish here.. Indulge in once & you will be in love forever...

So overall it was a good experience... Services is quick & rates are reasonable.. Food Attraction India ❤️
Modakam is small and sweet restaurant which serves maharashtrian as well as south indian food.also some fastfood.
Modakam is located near to famous siddhivinayak temple.so you can take blessings of lord ganesha too.
Hygenic of this place is okaish maintained.
Staff is very active and service and food was amazingly good.
We visited modakam few days ago and here is the food items which we ordered.

•cheese pavbhaji : 4/5 : in cheese pavbhaji we found little less cheese and taste was good.they could improve it by replacing regular spices with better spices.also butter was lessbut overall taste was good.

•masala uttapam : 5/5 : for this masala uttapam i would like to give thumbs up.the taste was finger licking good.chutney and sambhar was too good.but the final look of uttapam was little messy.they could have make it in more better manner.

•mosambi juice : 3.5/5 : i am great fond of mosambi juice.i like it little chilled without ice or sugar little amount of sugar is ok.taste of mosambi juice was good but sugar was high and at the end of juice sugar was too much.

•mango juice : 5/5: mango juice was nicely made.you could give try.i think they have added small amount of milk in that to make it little thin but overall juice was nice.

•mushroom masala with kulcha and naan : 5/5: you must try this dish.they quantity and quality of gravy was perfectly high.and taste was finger licking.also the kulcha and roti was freshly made and piping hot with great taste.

•fruit salad with jelly: 3.5/5 : in fruit salad they had mixed finely chopped apple, chikoo, pineapple, dry jelly , cherry, some syrup.80% they have added apple and the fruit salad was not as expected, be it the dry jellies but the fruit salad was just a name though as majority of the flavour was conquered by the essence of apple only, thereby naming apple salad 😅

Recently visited Modakam, which located near Siddhivinayak Temple, Prabhadevi. Modakam serves amazing Indian food, which includes Maharashtrian, Punjabi and South Indian Cuisine.
Restaurant is comparably small yet spacious with comfortable seating. Modakam has good amazing food options for one who's on Fast. During my visit to Modakam, I've tried their Kothimbir Wadi, which is traditional Maharashtrian cuisine, made of deep fried Coriander, was excellent in taste and was crunchy. I've tried their Ukdiche Modak, which is my personal favourite, the I had Aamras, a traditional Maharashtrian juice made of Mangoes, both were good in taste but I found it expensive. I've tried their Maramari Juice, it's a mixture of Mosambi and Pineapple juices. It was worth trying.
Overall it was a good experience. Food was good. Services were good. Modakam can be a good option for Vegetarian Foodies.

This is a nice budget friendly in prabhadevi. This is restaurant is just outside of sidhi vinayak temple. They have huge range of snacks item on their menu along with indian curries. By visiting this place , you can have all of mumbai fast food. From dosa to poha and sheera. Most patreon are here who visit temple.

Mysore masala dosa:
Mysore dosa here is mind blowing. They dont use south indian masala stuffing, it taste more malwani but this makes it unique and taste better.

Cheese pav bhaji:
As i told you can have all mumbai fast food in here. Pav bhaji here is full of cheese and butter. It savoury and looks so palatable.

Paneer makhanwala: it was looking so tempting. It had myraid paneer pieces. The curry was smooth and has taste of different spices. Since it is makhanwala it felt little on sweet side.

Kucha/butter roti:
Bread were soft and could be broken with no efforts. They were dipped in butter, so health conscious may have to watch out for it.

Kharwas:
Anyone who visits here so try their kharwas. It was star of meal. Kharwas is a Maharashtran dessert made with fresh milk. The kharwas they served us was very fresh and good smell. It was so soft that it jiggling like jelly when we were eating. It had pistachio and saffron on top of it.

The service is pretty good. The food gets ready in no time. It is very much recommended for people who are pure vegetarian.
#modakam #modak #pureveg #biryani #kharvas #kajudingri #solkadhi #prabhadevi #kashmiribiryani #hyderabadibiryani

Taste not at all good.... they may be good for modaks but when it comes to snacks not at all worth the money. We ordered the pav bhaji and it was below average... more of a sabji so no recommendation for this place

Recently visited this 40-year old Pure Veg restaurant named as Modakam for a food tasting session along with my friend
This place is located in Prabhadevi just near the Siddhivinayak Temple.

For the snacks, we ordered some Kothimbir Vadi and Cheese Pakoda.

Then we ordered the Solkadhi drink, it is made using coconut milk and kokum.

For the main course, we ordered Kaju Dingri sabzi and Veg Maharaja, along with Kulcha and Modakam Special Biryani.
The Modakam Special Biryani was a mixture of Veg Biryani, Hyderabadi Biryani and Kashmiri Biryani.

Last but not the least, we tried their speciality desserts.
We were served Kharvas, which is a milk pudding sprinkled with dry fruits.

Then, as the restaurant name is Modakam, we had to try their Ukdiche Modak. This modak is made using rice flour and filled with halwa stuffing inside.
When in Prabhadevi, I would recommend visiting this place for their snacks food options.
Last night, I visited modakam after our darshan at siddhivinayak. The ambience was really great, the chairs were in modak shape. The waiters were really kind and humble.
Taste
We ordered watermelon and mango milkshake, the watermelon juice was fresh, no colour or powdered. 4/5
Then we had cheese grilled sandwiches and cheese pakoda, but the taste was fine , the cheese pakoda had no stuffing only cheese was fried with batter.3/5
We ordered jeera rice and panner makhanwala, usually I know the gravy is sweet but here it was extra sweet, the jeera rice was cooked properly. 3/5
For dessert we order fruit salad with ice-cream, it was extra sweet too with all that truty fruity on top with cherry and jelly's. 3/5
Overall I love the ambience more than the dishes, the modaks are special here. A must try after siddhivinayak.
