Guys when i went to the above hotel I ordered paneer chilly milly and kolhapuri with masala papad,methi roti n missi roti it was excellent i have never ever tried such delicious variety of punjabi dishes in kandivali it is really exceptional if u have not visited please so visit and try out ....and cherry on the cake is that the ambience and staff services are also very good.
This place is good though the location near station is a bit shady. Been there twice and the food is definitely good. Bhuna chicken is a must have and the mocktails are good too.
Only con is that the rates are pretty high.
Recently ordered from this restaurant but visited many times. The restaurant is divided into bar and family restaurant. Ambience here is treat for an eye. They provide good quality of service. Usually crowded on weekends.

I have been visiting this restaurant for the past 20 years. The management has changed hands many times. But the thing that remains constant is the food taste. The staff is good. Food taste is excellent. One of the best place to have north Indian food. Aloo Chaat is my favorite here.
Today ordered from this old restaurant called lata restaurant which is near kandivali station.This restaurant is famous for there kebabs.Ordered banjara kabab and butter chicken.The quantity of banjara kebab were a total of 8 pieces.Butter chicken was also very good.Would try to order more from this restaurant

Chicken multani kebab is very good, chicken tikka biryani is yum, dal tadka jeera rice best, palak paneer okok.

Dont be fooled by either its proximity to Kandivali west side of station (being in the gujju bastion) or the settings inside (reminds of the typical central mumbai bar and restaurants), when it comes to food this place is a monster!! You will get the bang for your buck here, everything from Indian gravies like Mutton Bhuna, Chicken Tikkas to Chinese staples like Chicken crispy, Prawns Chilli were mouth watering..the breads were nicely done too. The only dish not upto the mark (standalone good, but dosent help when you compare with likes of Charcoal eats or BBC) was biryani, which was more of a pulao.
To sum it up, Lata is far more genuine and hearty in their portion size and big on taste than many big show Malad overhyped counterparts like The Third House, Curry me up etc. A solid 4/5 overall, keep it up!

This was my first time at lata's . Based on good reviews I thought let's give it a try . I entered ..I liked the ambience . The lighting we're perfect. Suitable for family dinner . Food (as I read in reviews ) was super tasty . Can't believe we get such tasty food at so reasonable rate . I ordered

Everything was delicious . Only thing I thought could be improved was the time they took to serve . Service can be better .

The chicken lata special could be better, however. Could feel the kaju lumps in my mouth.
I had also called for Chicken Hot and sour soup with was tasty too.
Perfect place to have delicuous food. Its very near to kandivali station. Panner sanghai was the beat way to start the dinner which ended up with lajawab VEG Lajawab along with tasty Butter Naan. Give it a try

Every family has a family doctor and here we have Lata hotel as our family restaurant, this is the place that i have visited the most because it has awesome food taste, good ambience and not even too expensive. The best bar and restaurant i have visited till now in Kandivali.
Families should visit and try out delicious food of the Hotel and even can enjoy good chakna in free😂😍

Amazing food ordered stuffed paneer green masala. Quantity is also great for the cost. Only thing is that I ordered online but didn't got bill from restaurant. You should provide proper printed bill when ordered from zomato.

This place is close to kandivali station & was our quick fix for an Indian dinner. There were families waiting to get a table so they shifted our tables without shifting us. It's funny, you had to be there to see it :P anyway, impatient staff, decent service & good food.

Ambiance and service is OK, food quantity and quality is fine and reasonable compared to different restaurants in similar category. Family room is separate and can order liquor on the table. Overall food is OK, but needs to be told don't make it too spicy.
This one of the old restaurant in kandivali west. It has two sections one Bar and other family sections which is quiet good. So we tried soups which was nice, Paneer Tikka starter was good and North Indian main course was also good. The quality and quantity was very worth for money. But the service was not quiet good they can improve on it.

Lata, being just 5 mins away from Kandivali railway station stands as a nice and a pleasant place to chill out. It’s an old restaurant from around 25~30 years. It got a makeover and was renovated. Decor and interior is a bit dull, cant even read the menu card properly in such lighting. Shoutout to the waiter attending us. A jolly guy, great management skills. Talking about food, Paneer Satay being the best starter to try out. Prepared in peanut gravy. Must try! Then comes, mix veg(starter) an awesome combination of mushrooms, onions, capsicum, baby corn, etc. Sautéed in a black garlic gravy. People loving hot and spicy preparations, this dish becomes a treat for them. Pot Rice, which was served in a pot, rice (well cooked) but typically it was prepared in the same gravy in which Mix veg (starter) was prepared. Not up to the mark. Talking about drinks, alcohol is cheaper here when compared to others. They just provide peanuts and cheeselings with it. No papad, carrots, or cucumbers. Although, they provided carrots and cucumbers on the next table.
Concluding, a nice and a cozy place just beside kandivali railway station, dull lighting was only the let down. And food was average. Except Paneer Satay,It was amazing. Don’t forget to try it.

Lata is just outside kandivali station. This place has 2 sections, left side is a family restaurant and right one is a food and bar. Good food and courteous staff is was describes this place best. They serve one of the best non veg in Kandivali area, this is what I have got from friends as I don't eat non veg so haven't personally tasted it. But veg food was good.

Lata restaurant has two joints side by side. The left one is for Family dining and the other one beside its serves alcohol. Located near Kandivali station, you can see this placed filled every time you visit.
I went with my family here for dinner and we waited almost 45mins for the table. The staff was really courteous and was attending us every 10mins. After long waiting, we ordered a couple of dishes. Fyi.. the order takes time, so you have to order and should ask them to make it soon.
I've been here thrice till now.. They always changes their interior and their ambience is beautiful. Staff is fine, Food is good but not great.. I will mention few of them.
You can try their Chicken Tandoori Platter where they serve as variety of kebabs and has almost 12-15 pieces of them. They are well marinated, perfectly grilled, juicy and the mint chutney is best combo with it.. Worth a shot..
Veg gold coin: I will not recommend this starter as it was dry from inside.. all u can taste is potato served with ketchup..
Panner Tawa Masala: Decent taste.. Soft Paneer.. Nothing much to say.. the taste was okay.
Murg Tikka Lahore Masala: I thought this must be something v.authentic dish and great to taste.. But that was an disappointment.. It tasted like normal chicken masala.. Nothing something different or the authentic Muslin cuisine taste.. Will not recommend this one..
Pomfret Koliwada: Yes this one was preety good. They will ask you for dry or gravy, well both are worth try.. The dry one is deep fried prawns whereas the gravy somewhat tastes like goan curry and not much like Koli speciality.
Chicken Dum Biryani: Good one.. Good in taste.. Cooked rice and I love that aroma of basmati rice. Mild spiciness as required. Overall good.
Brownie sizzler: I'd ordered once a brownie sizzler where they serve you a piece of choclate brownie on a hot sizzler and pour the chocolate sauce over it in front of you. So when he was pouring the sauce, the sauce got burnt. And while eating I was able to taste the burnt chocolate which was not at all good in taste..

My all time favourite dish has been a combination of butter chicken and chicken fried rice
Tried lot of restaurants but couldn't get that flavour that I was looking for .. basis review at Zomato tried Lata.
I was really happy for the below things
1. Delivery before time
2. Usually customisation in the dish, even when specified is missing esp related to spice as the gravy is pre-made spicy.
But the spice factor was taken care of .. I had mentioned. "Non spicy - for 2 yr old"

They are very good with the quantity of their good and the quality of the food one of my favourite restaurants, their chicken and mutton stuffed Biryani is something you should try, it's mouth watering!
Ambiance is good and so is food.
But had a bad experience with the service.
The steward spilled the coke on clothes and took it very casually which was quite disappointing.
Other than that everything was good.
Another restaurant that has been around forever in Kandivli West Area. The ambience is good if you want to relax over couple of drinks and dinner. I love their soups, they cant go wrong with it, it seems. Also love their Chicken Adraki Kabab, it has a nice, light tinge of gingery taste without being too over powering. Wife likes their Sesame Toast, but I find the crust slightly burnt to my liking.
Their Indian Main Courses are nice. Chicken Kadhai is my favorite and I like the fact that you can also order half portion of it. They also have chapatis on their menu, so you can have that instead of maida rotis if you like. Their biryanis are nice and filling as well. Definitely worth a visit for casual dinner.
Ordered stuffed capsicum and phulkas. Food was good but very spicy inspite of mentioning food to be made less spicy. The food was delivered on time.

To be really frank, food here is just average but the crux lies in consistency.
I think this one is a classic example of place thriving on loyalty of patrons.
And also not to forget those endless supplies of Chakna.

Lata and Sarovar (bang on the opposite side)have been a favourite for most of us since ages....atleast since 1988 or maybe earlier.
They havr maintained their quality and have ensured to draw their loyal clients.
The food is good, the ambience is relaxing and it is conveniently located near the Kandivli railway station(West).
So even after a drink too many, you can always get an autorickshaw from there...to any part of the city.

Iv been hearing abt the food at this place but could never reach.. the food over here is very yummy n tasty.. we ordered the chicken bhuna masala with cheese garlic naan.. the cheese garlic naan was simply delicious, I couldn't even finish the half portion of the naan.. the chicken bhuna was nice n tender n the masala was not very spicy.. and methi paratha.. you must must must try this paratha.. methi has nevr been my favorite but this one you should try.. all in all, a good family place and above all, amazing food..

Visited the Restaurant after a Long Time with Friends for Reunion after the Lockdown.. It is so close to Kandivali Station.. Food was Tasty and Nice Ambience.. Friendly Staff and Helpful.. Parkings are easily available after 7 pm.. Recommended for Family and Friends.. Loved it 👌

Nice place for guys drinking session, complimentary chakkan is given. Saturday night can be really busy, so plan ahead. Heavy traffic can affect service but decently priced and comfortable place so you won't mind.
