Review Dwarka Restaurant - Mumbai

Asmant Nimbalkar
Good vegetarian restaurant in fort area. Went on the friend's recommendation to try idlis. They have different varieties of idlis. We ordered Kanchipuram Idli, Hyderabadi Idli and Rava Idli. All idlis were delicious and different and unique in taste. Even the Sambhar and Chutneys were good. Also tried their chat items, which were average.

I had been to Dwarka Restaurant in Fort in the month of November
We ordered food thali & the most important thing was that I ate the ice cream pakoda. I have never eaten such ice cream pakoda anywhere in Mumbai.
It is a local restaurant but really a good place to visit with friends and family members.
#dwarka

Situated in the bylanes of fort near high court this restaurant is pretty old and till date the owner of the restaurant who must be around 75yrs attends each and every table and tells you to try various new things on the menu..on his suggestion we called for the kota idli which comes in leaf wraped round shaped, the idli was very delicious served with a different kind of sweet chutney and normal chutney sambhar..
Also their their onion utappa and masala rava dosa which too were delicious..
Service is quick
Do try their filter coffeee

Food:- 4/5
Service:- 5/5
Location:- 3/5
Ambience:- 3/5

Typical lunch place usually teeming with people at peak time. Specializes in South Indian cuisine.
Some of their specialities are the Neera Dosa, Kanchipuram Idli and Idli Vada.
Personally, the sambhar which is packed with flavour is something I really liked.
As compared to its contemporaries in the area, it scores well on the cleanliness front with the staff being extremely efficient but felt the food could be better.
However not a bad place for lunch at all and offers a quick decent experience.
Bon Appétit

Decent, like most of the udipi restaurants that we find around the country! Food is worth the cost and the service is fast!! The waiting staff is damn good too!

A typical udpi restaurant in Fort area. Always crowded. The manager said they have more than 200+ dishes which are freshly prepared. They really have nice food with good service. The uncle is a very jolly person

Not a good place for a quick lunch. You have many other options available at much better option. The prices they are charging is like a good restaurants and this one is typical lunch home type hotel. Portion size are tiny which is suitable to one person serving. We ordered veg. Kholhapuri and it was rs. 185 and tandorri rotis are already premade and stored in containers and reheat it on tawa and serve you. Our bill with kholhapuri and 2 roti and 2 chapati was rs. 400. Which was not at all sufficient for 2 person. Avoid this place.. regret going here instead i should have had sandwich at the stall right opposite of the hotel. Managment if you are reading this logo ki muchburi ka fayda mat uthaiye...if you want to charge high atleast provide good portion size.

The taste was good and the average cost is preferable..... but the quantity is too low... And service is also a bit slow..! All in all it was an average experience!

This place is mostly frequented by lawyers who want a healthy South Indian meal at reasonable prices. The South Indian food is good and reasonable. Ambience is standard as in any lunch home. Service is good.

Over hyped place. Had been to this place once and for the last time. Highly Over priced pathetic food, stale tandoori rotis, cold and Jada chawal generally used as staff rice served for steam rice.
Devashish Godbole
I ordered the upwas misal and potato chips. The misal was horrible. It was watery and tasteless. Though the chips were nice and golden though weren't so crispy. The accompanying chutney was truly pathetic. We ordered watermelon juice which was good.

Nice and cosy place in a crowded locality. Food quality is nice and is served immediately. The lunch thali with pulav is worth a try. Try the Rawa Idli in snacks!

Decent south Indian food at reasonable prices is what defines this restaurant. Don't expect great ambience in such restaurants. The owner Mr. Kamat is a very friendly person who welcomes you with bright smile. Perfect restaurant for a quick snack.

Not Giving More Than 1 Stars. Talking About Ambience It Was Ok. Seating Was Quite Conjusted. Now Talking About Food. We Ordered 2 Rava Masala Dosa & 1 Butter Onion Uttapam. Dosa Was Crispy But Veggies Inside Was Not Cooked Properly Esp. Potatoes. Potatoes Was Less & Onion Was More Than Enough To Eat It Out For an Single Person. Same Was With Uttapam. Uttapam Was Crispy But Presence of Onion Was a Total Disaster. It Looked Like They Have Purposely Burned It. Yuck. Now The Climax I Asked For Extra Chutney (White) Which I Got After 10 Mins. I Mean Seriously I Was Wasting Time With Flies Who Were Also Interested in Tasting My Burned Onion Uttapam. Not With This They Charged Me 5 Rs. Extra for Chutney. Now I Seriously Believe That Kalyug has Arrived. I Won't Visit This Place Ever Even I am Starving To Death. To Hell With This Restaurant.

This is the ideal place to grab a lunch within 20 minutes.
1. My set menu is paneer tikka masala with pickles and chapatis. To top it off I drink a refreshing pineapple juice or sometimes a coffee which is delicious. I would rate the coffee to be better than a machiato at Starbucks and even coffee bean
2. The food is very fresh and well cooked. There is very less oil however that needs to be mentioned.
3. It offers a variety of cuisines that I'd love to try however is a little difficult given the time constraints
4. The coffee is fantastic, it's the ideal filter coffee
5. Extremely reasonable and pocket friendly

Tucked in the bylanes of Kala Ghoda, this place has a range of dosas and idlis..
Filter coffee is very good. Also has an old charm, hard to find these days..

This is one of my favourite places to eat their special neer dosa with mint chutney. A lot of different dishes like palak cheese dosa, dahi samosa, chole samosa, kanchipuram idli and many more. Also great filter coffee. Very talkative owner who comes by always to give his suggestions about what to eat out here.

Good south Indian food + yummy chutney + an over-friendly talkative owner = Dwarka

So, we were in the Kalaghoda area last Saturday shopping at Westside and Fab India, when my brother suggested this place for a quick snack. He stated that they serve awesome chutney with their Vada Pav which we all should try. At first, I thought it would be a tiny snack joint serving snacks but well, it was a mid-sized restaurant.

We were welcomed by their owner, a very talkative senior uncle (the owner) who believed that customers love to talk a lot and therefore they should be kept busy with words all the time. No, this is not my assumption about him but is the piece of advice I heard him giving few of his waiters as we were leaving the restaurant!! Sweet and amusing at first, his non-stop babbling eventually starting getting on our nerves. He had suggestions on what we should order, adviced that we should watch the movie Satyagraha, commented on how Amitabh had acted, they had more than 200 items on the menu, food was prepared only once you give the order.....and so on and on and on.Thankfully, we were out within 15-20 minutes.

As for the food, the chutney which came with the Vada Pav was indeed excellent the way my bro had mentioned before. It was a green coriander chutney but was slightly sweetened and tasted great with the fried stuff. As per uncles suggestion (Read: persistance!!), we tried something called as the Sangam Vada (that's how it sounded) which he claimed was really really good and if we didn't like it he would return us our money. We had absolutely no intention on trying it but uncle kept insisting till we gave in. It was no where written on the menu so we asked the waiter as to what exactly it was, but the poor guy said that the would be reprimanded by the owner if he revealed what exactly it was. I must admit that uncle was a good marketeer (for his age) but expecting people to eat stuff without telling them what it exactly is crazy! Anyway, our special dish arrived after a good 5-7 mins. I would simply call it a Special Batata vada (with peanuts and masalas) and nothing beyond. Yes, it was good and we did not ask him for our money! Other items like Sada dosa, tea coffee were not bad either.

So if you are hungry, bored or in the mood for some conversation, do visit Dwarka! You will not be disappointed!
