Cafe udipi is an all time favorite brand regardless of its outlet and location. The menu offers regular food options with assured quality and hygiene at a cost effective price. This outlet allowed me taste a real good pav bhaji dinner
Came across Cafe Udipi while passing through station road. Have passed from here many a times but never noticed this.
Was craving for Pav Bhaji and decided to drop in here for a meal.
Typical south indian café with classic seating.
Ordered pav bhaji immediately. Staff is very good. Service is quick.
The pav bhaji didn't have that typical taste but it tasted nice. The pav was very buttery. Be aware that they don't serve onion with the bhaji now because of the increased onion rate.
Also ordered for filter coffee and it was just amazing.
A value for money restaurant with quick service and nice hospitality.
Visited many times. For casual dining . (Dont try chole bhature its not good and that too 190₹)
Try hyderabadi biryani its good there N filter coffee.
Do like and comment!!!!!
Yea m southindian n who dsnt love south foods...southindian idli vada dosas are always the best
We had for the first time in cafe udipi hotel vada sambhar v ordered and mysore masala dosa n both were deliciously delicious ...enjoyed my breakfast in cafe udipi and the medu wada was so soft k crispy too it was perfect n both the dishes were yumm
Overall ambience was good perfect for family outing also...
This is one of the best South Indian Udipi hotel in Chembur. It's named as a South Indian but they provide you north Indian, Chinese dishes too. Ambience of outlet is very nice. Staff always takes care of cleanness of restaurants. It's a big hotel and best for families. We went here to have some breakfast hence we orderd the medu vada and onion uttapa. Medu vada was perfectly crisp and it's goes well with hot typical South Indian sambar. Coconut chutney was amazing. Onion uttappa was also freshly made and hot. Both the dishes I orderd are perfectly describe the South Indian taste over here. Staff members are polite and active. I will suggest this place if you want to go with family for outing. Must visit !
Thanks.
Filter coffee too good !!
Idli wada Sambhar was ok !!
Wada were not crispy as it should have been.
And yes Value for Money !!!
May visit next time...
I again visited this place after a long ago. I love to have briyani over here. Today we tried Chinese chop Suey but it was worst because they put the boiled noodles in the soup with a few vegetables, bring the taste at worst. So it spoiled even Taste of briyani. Must visit place for vegetarians, can have lot of things in affordable price.
It's a great place to have south Indian food. Great Mysore masala dosa, amazing filter coffee. Good ambience with friendly staff. Rates are reasonable. A must go if you want to have cheap and good food
Been going here since ages and I can assure you that although the staff may keep changing, the quality and the ambience does not. A typical,no nonsense Udipi. Tables, chairs, fans and lights and no other great frills (after all it's the food that matters the most) with a simple unwritten policy that you come in, eat and vacate the table ASAP for the next customer. Don't get me wrong, they won't be rude or throw you out of the restaurant but yes, if they see you sitting there without ordering then they will also politely remind you that you can leave by placing the bill on the table ;) :)
Although they are well known for their South Indian dishes like dosa, idli and piping hot medu Vadas, they are equally good in North Indian as well (special mention for their Veg Kheema which goes great with a couple of hot chapatis) :)
All in all Udipi is a simple place with good, clean, hygienic, quality food and a good staff. Always a go to place, reliable and trustworthy
Found the cafe big and nicely spaced out. Not cramped up so people can chit chat over a vast range of scrumptious cuisine. enjoyed thier special coffee and freshly squeezed juice.service prompt and courteous. Keep it up !"Courteous treatment will make a customer a walking advertisement" by James Cash Penney.
Accept payments via Paytm & Debit Cards.
We sometimes do not have cash, so this restaurant can't be preferred at such time. It would be helpful if they accept money digitally also.
Location : Near Chembur Railway Station, Chembur
Ordered : Puri Bhaji & Chutney, Mysore Ghee Roast, Medu Wada sambhar chutney
Review : Ghee Roast was amazing. Puri bhaji was good. Medu wada was good too.
Other reviews : Its always a good time when you visit a TYPICAL Karnataka style serving restaurant. Oh yes! Cafe Udupi is the one. There authentic taste of food takes you to the city of Udupi itself.
Service : 5/5
Quantity : 5/5
Ambience : 5/5
Always worth a visit again
Ordered masala dosa for breakfast. The sambar was nice. The coconut chutney was fresh. The dosa was tasty and the quantity was enough for one person.
Visited this place on a Saturday afternoon, when it was less crowded. Ordered Ulundu Dosa and Mysore Bonda and a filter coffee. Both the dishes had a bit long preparation time but it was surely worth the wait. Mysore Bonda was light, crisp and tasty. Ulundu Dosa was amazing too.
Home Delivery - Ordered Sabudana Vada and Poori Bhaaji from here. The poori bhaaji has its typical udupi flavour and the coconut chutney served it with added to its taste. Sabudana Vada was quite filling for one person. Loved their packaging as well. Will visit this place sooner than later.

Typical Udupi in Chembur.. visiting this place since a very long time ... Authentic and same taste since years.
Economical, hygienic and authentic are the 3 words for this place.. Worth a try
Good for breakfast, lunch. Famous for South Indian food in Chembur. uttappam, idli, meduvda very tasty dishes ....😋near to Chembur station. service is really nice
For a quick snack, this is one of my go to South Indian cafes I love going to. I love the palak dosa, rasam Wada and Idli sambhar here. It's fresh and served piping hot.
My go to place for a quick snack and chai.
Sometimes it's best to give it a shot when they open as the idli vada sambar is fresh and tastes super.
Sambar is yumm. Dosas are good and coffee is nice.
Overall :-
Typical udipi joint serving some good quality food.
Craved for a light basic south indian food , visited CAFE UDIPI, located in chembur , near station , authentic taste , super fast service , quality of food was good , a typical udipi kinda eatery , some more good dishes over there are rasam wada, pav bhaji
I ordered
1. Steam idli ,
4.5/5 super hot, fluffy , soft loved it
2. Ghee sada dosa
4.5/5 perfect colour , perfect taste , perfect crunch loved it
Pocket friendly do visit if want to grab lite bite udipi style .
As the restaurant is famous for its south Indian foods. Medu vada sambhar rassam and chutney are just superb. Service provide is fine and good.
Have been a frequent visitor here after late night office and the place never fails to satisfy my hunger cravings. Here's the deal, however, if you are looking for an upscale modern eating establishment, this place is not for you. Clean, simple, rustic, with servers who will (for the most part) listen to your order, give suggestions and bring the food on time, Cafe Udipi makes for a wonderful dining place. Mostly my friend and I order the dal fry along with butter naan here, and while it may sound simple, they never disappoint (we have had a lot of disappointig dal fries in a lot of other places in Mumbai). Tried their Kashmiri pulao, and it was soft, aromatic and very well cooked, with pieces of soft paneer and diced veggies. Also noteworthy are their harabhara kebab which are commendable starters and the kulfi falooda as the dessert. Dosas are ordinary but their kashmiri alu dum and malai kofta is very well cooked.
The kitchen which can be seen from the seating area is kept clean (which is a big plus) and their coffee is a wonderful conclusion to late night dinners.
Two things, they do not accept cards (they are very affordable and pocket friendly) and their puri sabzi could be better.
If you are looking for a pocket friendly clean joint for a family meal or a solitary dinner, Cafe Udipi is the place to be.
Mysore masala dosa with sambar and chutney
The price for the quantity and quality served is appropriate. Dosa had a genreous spread of potato peas onions filling in it with a litle high on the spicy side.
The service is prompt.
Always good to have food here. It's tasty & I have been going there since ages now........cheap prices & yummy as always.....................
Decent Udupi vegetarian hotel. Been going there for ages. Like the Idli, Dosas and the Thali here.
The Punjabi dishes are average. A separate family enclosure is a nice touch here. The waiters here are courteous and friendly.
I found Cafe Udipi to be an amazing place with easy to find location.
They serve good quality and quantity of food.
Polite staff and excellent service.
A south Indian restaurant to start with. The iddli dosa and wada are quite good here. Service and ambience is quite average. A place where you can have lunch with your family.
Best South Indian in central mumbai.
Must try Maysore masala dosa and Fruit Gelly ice cream salad.
Value for money 4.5/5
Food 4.5/5
Great service
The place is good and very clean..
The food I think is quite good and it is also quite cheap..
The service is good and the staff is also quite courteous..
Overall it's a nice place and also pocket friendly ..
After Krishna's shutting down, we were looking for a good alternative for a simple, basic udipi that serves good food worth the price. We found Cafe Udipi. They have a bunch of interesting things on their menu, so I know I will be back for more. Today we tried Bhendi Dahi, Boondi Raita and Paratha. The food was good. If you like bhendi, definitely try this. The dishes on the other tables so looked good, waiting to try more.
This has become a regular place to order food! The Palak gobhi is really tasty. Also a very different combination. If you don't like chillies please mention that otherwise they put a lot of chilly. The boondi raita is amazing as well! Nice strong filter coffee.
Me and my wife are suckers for a good dosa place and so it seems fate had it in store for us to visit Cafe Udipi. We ordered 3 different types of dosas - firstly Mysore Sadha Dosa, then Onion Rava Dosa and finally Ghee Paper Dosa.
All the three dosas were well prepared and were served with ample amounts of sambar and coconut chuttney. The paper dosa and onion dosa were prepared to perfection.
To top it all up, I ordered the traditional South Indian filter coffee and my wife went for Royal Falooda. Filter coffee affectionadoes will certainly appreciate the authentic coffee served at this restaurant - it was just perfect! You won't be disappointed if you try the falooda either - it was invigorating and prepared with fresh ingredients.
Last but not the least, a special mention to our server - Mr Sadanand; who was courteous, prompt and ever so helpful. He is the true definition of service with a smile!

We came here for breakfast and had Kesari, Masala Dosa and filter coffee. The food was really tasty and the staff was very courteous. The Kesari was perfect- not coloured, with the right amount of ghee and sugar. Masala Dosa was crispy, with nice chutney and sambar to go with. Filter coffee was also quite good. The dishes are also priced well and are affordable. A great option for South Indian breakfast.
I came across this place, while going to chembur station. I decided to have dinner just because the place had an appearance of a hygienic, authentic south indian restaurant. And it indeed was! The waiters dressed in half pants with towels on their shoulders, the table cleaning boy carrying a steel bucket with him, added to the south Indian experience. Coming to the food, we order rawa ghee masala dosa and a sada masala dosa. The rawa masala dosa was good, the ghee used had a great smell and texture, unlike those regular bottled ghee available at supermarkets.
The sambar had a kannadika touch to it, a little sweet and sour. The chutni was strikingly different. It was freshly ground coconut without any added salt or regular chutni masalas. A little but different but nonetheless good.
Cheap and healthy. Clean but simple decor. Go for the dhosa and utappam, stay for the mushroom cheese grilled sandwich. The coffee is the best thing thoug
They are the most authentic in Chembur area it feels like. I like all the dosa varieties that they serve ..the filter coffee is at another level. The staff is very friendly.
A typical south Indian restaurant located on chembur East. The hot coffee is a must have after any meal .Try their rasam vada and wil give you a feel good feeling. Most of their food are consistent and that could be the primary reason why this place is patronised by foodies since ages.Service is quick nd warm.I would recommend this place for anyone looking for good south Indian food.
A Good Pocket friendly Place to visit when you are craving some south Indian Cuisine. The Restaurant has been here since ages and the food they serve never disappoints.
The Ambience is OK and the service is quick just like all the south indian joints in chembur there are waiters doing the rounds and once you are done with your Meal the dishes are cleared and the bill served. The Thali for 120 Rs is a good for a lunch time dish with 3 sabjis dal rasam and a sweet.
This restaurant is here since ages... Ambience here is okay...The food is pretty good. Have been here few times .. Dahi wada here is must try... All the south indian dishes here are Must try
Another purely veg place with decent food with good service and hygienic place. Just like saroj and geeta bhavan in chembur. Taste of food is good here. Pocket friendly place.
Very Poxcket friendly restaurant. Really good service and yummy food. This is a very reasonable but clean , hygienic restaurant which serves authentic food. Place where you get really good breakfast . the Punjabi food served here is very delicious. The Masala dosa is my favourite and the paneer Biryani as well
South Indian food is something I used to crave for since it was never available at home. Udipi is one of the first restaurants my father introduced me to.
They have a simple yet neat and tidy decor and a pleasant ambience although people could keep talking loud which is normal in restaurants.
You can start with a Filter Coffee. The South Indian Filter Coffee is unique in taste and a Must, if you haven’t tried it.
Udipi serves delicious rather mildly spiced starters - Cheese Dosa, Ghee Rava Dosa, Ghee Uttapam, Butter Idli, Paper Dosa and the Spicy Vada Sambar.
They serve Mangalore flavoured version of Punjabi food that's common in Chembur. I would rather skip it however do try the Malai Kofta, Dal Fry and the Paneer Palak along with Naans which fit those curries.
A big meal for four with starters and coke would cost you 600. Absolute value for money.
If you want to have delicious South Indian food and super fast service, Café Udipi is one of the best restaurants in Chembur.
Highly recommended!
Excellent place. Very hygienic. Polite staff. Very tasty food.
The thali is amazing.
The quality of ingredients superb.
Highly recommended
We've eaten many meals here over the last four years. This place serves the best pav bhaji I've eaten to date. Their punjabi dishes are also excellent as are the rice preparations and parathas. I'm not a big fan of their south indian fare, but it's still quite decent, just not what i usually order. It also serves a really nice strawberry milkshake in season. The staff is efficient and polite, service is super fast, the restaurant is large and spacious and never feels noisy even when it's packed. Unfortunately it's on a very busy road, so traffic is a problem. But you should definitely stop here for a meal when in chembur
Always end up going here whenever I go to Chembur Station. The place is great to go with family and friends. The staff is polite and cooperative. Their thali is pocket friendly and tasty.
No complaints whatsoever. Delicious food, friendly staff and lightening quick customer service. And very very reasonable prices. Again, obviously my favourites here are the South Indian dishes.
This place is a very old eating joint right in the middle of a busy street. It gives nice meals all round the day at reasonable prices. Preparation is simple and service is fast. Parking might be an issue during peak hours, but manageable. If you get waiting, you might be extremely unlucky as usually there is place available to sit here.
Note meals are all vegetarian here.
Classic place to eat if you want quick food with reasonable price.... Ordered a cheese masala dosa quite tasty except the chutney.. Which kinda was sad.... Ordered a cheese sandwich it was quite nice... Then ordered cold coffee which is good and mosumbi juice... It was like water.... overall it was pretty decent...
This is the first place I dropped by after reaching Mumbai, and I must say the food was really delicious at a very reasonable price.
Pros
A nice, well maintained, hygienic restaurant.
Great food
Great service
Reasonable prices
Well trained and courteous staff
Easy to locate
Cons
Could not find any!
Looking forward to visit again!
Thank you Vijay for being so warm to us :)
It's my old time favourite vegetarian restaurant in Chembur
Awesome food and the price is also very reasonable ..
Portions are also available for two
I always go for Special veg thali..
Visited Almost 20 times but delayed my review ....
Yashaswi Yonzon
Amazing veg food. Service is quite good as well. Onion Ghee Rava is a must try. The owner too is service conscious. A must eat out for veggies n southie food. Cheers!!
Try the Ullundu Dosa. Super light and burst of ginger, garlic, zeera in your mouth. Cafe Udipi lives up to the Udipi simple taste and VFM. The dosa and chutneys are savory. Sadly you have to pay for extra sambar :(
This place is a favourite breakfast place for many. It was the only place some 25-30 years back where you used to get paper dosa in Chembur. My recommendation for this place is do try rassam wada you gonna love it for sure.
A typical Udipi restaurant. No fancy decor. You get fantastic sumptuous South Indian food. Try Rasam Idli and Mysuru Bonda. The server are also in typical Udipi hotel.Seems to be very old hotel. Food at best and value for money.
Been yday to this place for breakfast
Typical udpi restaurant. We ordered rava maysor masala ghee dosa....mind blowing taste. If some1 goes to this place u must order this dish. Amazing crispness...yum yummm yummmm
Nice place ...... well organised staff....... nd food was yummy...... we ordered dosa nd pav bhaji ..... nd was superb...... dey were delicious nd service was vry gud......to have best south indian food ... cafe udipi is d place to be ......
I have visited this place many times,it is very spacious and food is of great quality and masala dosa and puri bhaaji are of great taste and service is really good
Had palak sada dosa here.Preparation was really good.A good place for south indian cuisines.Must try ! Located near chembur railway station.
Café Udipi is located close to Chembur Station.
A regular no frills Udipi joint with basic seating and no fancy décor to speak about, focus is on the food here.
I chanced upon this place when one of their competitors in the vicinity were full and had a long waiting time.
Though their menu has South Indian, Chaat, Pizza, Pav Bhaji and even Chinese so far I have always gone with their speciality - South Indian.
Upma, Idli Wada Sambar, Rawa Sada, Mysore Sada, Ulundu Dosa are all tried and tested recommendations here.
To quench your thirst and sweet cravings you have options in some Desserts, Lassi, Milkshakes, Fruit Juices, Falooda’s etc, I have tried their Fruit Juices and Milkshakes which are fresh and fulfilling.
You can have a good Filter Coffee too depending on your choice.
Service is quick, a place where you eat and leave place, Quality is good and Pricing is easy on the wallet.
This is again a south Indian hotel. The utapam and dosas were good. Please do not try the Mysore bajji if you are a fan of authentic south indian food. The restaurant isn't too pricey also.
The best south indian you would get in Chembur Area....good service with good food. Well i would definately whoever read me review to go an order for Special Thali "Taste main Best" & money's worth ?
Service is quick and nice. Staff is friendly. Good quality food for reasonable rates. Place gets crowded in the afternoon for lunch. Try any south Indian dish for breakfast.
Predictable udipi fare. Can't go wrong with much. Very tasty and filling thali for afternoon meal. The waiters are friendly and helpful. On par with geeta Bhavan in terms of food. Worth a visit or two ?
This is hands down the best Udipi in Chembur. Dishes very competitively priced. The Dahi Vada and Paneer Kadai stand out. The Sunday morning breakfast here is the perfect way to kickstart your day. Very clean place and prompt service. Highly recommended !
Vidyasagar Hariharan
+4.5
Good food, the best in Chembur, having a good tasting Mysore masala dosa and pav bhaji, neatly maintained, courteous staff, would recommend for south Indian food. North Indian menu too available. Top up with a filter coffee greatly recommended.
The hotel is very clean, spacious and the staff are curtious to the customer. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. A few hotel staff have been there for decades and that speaks a lot about the culture and the man management of the owner. The food is always served hot and fresh . Hope they continue to be the same
Very good, if you are looking for affordable South Indian food. I first visited this place in 2006 and I loved their veg-sandwich and coffee very much (surprised; I am from Haryana and was not very fond of South Indian food at that time). I stayed in Mumbai for couple of months and visited this place regularly with my friends. I have again shifted to Mumbai last year and it was the first restaurant I visited with my family. My wife and son loved the dosa and uthapam.
The place is mostly crowded and noisy. The service is quick. You must visit if you are looking for an affordable food-joint...
these is my favorite restaurant since my childhood
southindian dishes dishes are yummy
one of my favorite restaurant in chembur
if you are in chembur and want to eat southindian dishes then you should try these place
A typical south Indian joint just outside Chembur station. Had been here this morning with family, I must say its a value for money joint.
All the dishes are rightly priced, large in quantity, and just awesome to taste. A good way to start your mornings with some tangy Rassam Vadas. Dosas are crisp and spot on.
Best was the typical south Indian filter coffee.
Give this place a try whenever you are around.
A typical Udipi restaurant bang outside Chembur Station on the East. What comes to my mind is the Rassam wada they serve. Rassam which is tangy and spicy at the same time. All in all and authentic Udipi restaurant. Must visit if you like the taste of South Indian food.
A good place for a quick sip & bite.
Awesomeeeest Filter coffee
Soft & Tasty Idlis
Nice & Crisp Dosas
If you're really hungry, you simply need to order a thali with pulav. 1 Thali can feed even 2 people if you order extra puris/rotis. Apart from that all the south Indian dishes are up to the mark.
Always crowded, good staff, close to the station. Don't forget to try the filter coffee, it's quite epic.
One of the best veg restaurants in and around chembur . Very close to chembur station.
Ambience is of old school, but you will
Like it. Ample of seating place plus waiting place also has place for sitting.
During peak hours it jam pakked but mostly you will find an place to seat and eat.
Best to try South Indian varieties, do try their Mysore dosa/medu wada.
Thali is also served and of good quality.
Even Punjabi food is good.
Only problem is that restaurant don’t accept upi payment, hence don’t forget to carry cash.
Place and food is too good.
Quantity can serve upto 2 pax.
Being a Bangalorean, I am a big fan of Dosa. I was staying in Chembur and visited this restaurant. This hotel serves good South Indian as well as local cuisine.
It’s been my favorite place in chembur and I look forward to going .
I have gotten consistent food quality and service. I really love the onion uttapam with coconut chutney and cold coffee.
Very good place to eat south indian food. The food was very authentic and tasty. I was super happy with the piping hot sambar and delicious coconut chutney. The food was hygienic and very home-like. The ambience was good, a bit noisy though. Overall, nice place for a quick meal and value for money.
My most favourite comfort meal place ever! Not only is their food cooked with utmost hygiene but also their services are prompt. Meals are light on your tummy and at the same time maintain that standard South-Indianish flavours even in the most intricate of spices used in preparing their delicacies. Umm, their desert section looks okayish. Tried their dahi idli and pineapple curd dessert options. Both were okayish. But their idli, dosa, upma along with their different variations in each of those is simple yet filling and safe.
Good place near Chembur railway station to have South Indian food. Moderate prices and clean place.
A small eatery that serves both South and North Indian cuisine. I tried their palak dosa and mix veg uthappam.
Being a huge fan of palak dosa, i can't resist myself from ordering it the moment i see it listed in any menu card. Interestingly, the palak dosa here was made with palak mixed in the batter instead of a palak filling inside the dosa. It was very crisp and thin and chutney served with it was very good. The sambar though is a typical udipi styled fare with a few grates of coconut floating in it.
Coming to the mix veg oothappam (as we call it/utappa as it is called in Maharashtra in general), it was made in an oval shape exactly fitting in the oval plate they serve. 'Topped' generously with 'chopped' vegetables, it was made in a very filing way, thick and rich. The same chutney and sambar is served for this as well.
I'm hearing that the locals in chembur frequent this place not only for their South Indian fare, but also for their North Indian food. Going by the so many chole bhatures that went past my table and the quick glances i shot around the hotel, I'm definitely hoping to try their North Indian fare, the filter coffee and their South Indian thali in my next visits.
The service was quite fast.
The only minus is that they don't accept UPI/card. They accept only cash. An co-op Bank atm is right opposite to the place for withdrawing cash if needed.
Nice cozy south indian food near Chembur railway station. Dosa was little dry and sambar/chutney was good. Butter milk (chaaz) was good.. overall VFM
Superb .....a good place for thali and dosas ....
Try Rasam rice.
Very affordable and humble place to eat .
Staff is very good and efficient and all the item are super tasty and pocket friendly.
Cafe Udipi is a hotel that serves traditional South Indian cuisine, which is known for its use of lentils, rice, and spices like turmeric, tamarind, and curry leaves. Cafe Udipi feature vegetarian-only menus.

Lovely place to have a good south indian breakfast. We tried the mysore masala dosa, sada masala dosa ,sada palak dosa and rava masala dosa. Every bite of dosa oozed with yummy ghee . You must also try sheera from here. It tasted good - right amount of sweetness , flavor of elaichi and garnished with cashews
Good quality food. Must visit. Service is good.Variety of menu available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Very popular & old restaurant. Taste has not changed so much in years & i love that
My all time go to go place for South Indian Food and Special Thali❤️✔️
One of the Oldest Restaurant of Chembur, serves a variety of authentic dishes📍
South Indian✔️
Chinese✔️
Pav Bhaji✔️
North Indian✔️
Everything is best.
Since childhood, I have been having their idli, Dosa combination. It’s like a safe zone for south india food.
Even the thali is what I would recommend, and their Palak Aloo with chapati.
if you are so hungry that your brain is not able to function on what to eat, start with idli sambhar, then Masala Dosa and end with filter coffee. You would full and charged enough to face any problem that day or even go and save the world.
