Review Tag Gourmart By Chef Ranveer Brar - Mumbai

Gabin Kattukaran
Incredible food. Portions sized so that you can try several dishes at a time.
Avinash Bhavnani
Creative and tasty (vegetarian only) food, in a creative space. Expensive, but worth it. Try the veg ramen and naan sampler

Very interesting conceit and great food. Excellent cocktails too! Love the ambience, but too loud! Can hear the music from the nightclubs nearby.
The Good Food Pact
Vegetarians unite, as TAG Gourmet by Chef Ranveer Brar is conquering the industrial hub of Kamala Mills – with its exceptionally diverse menu and a beautiful kitchen setting. The Go Cheese Tasting Event which took place at TAG had a number of things in store for the bloggers as they sank their fingers into some delectable cheeses, introduced in India by Go Cheese. The little shindig started off with an electrifying performance by standup comedian, Abhishek Upmanya, who had the food bloggers and eminent guests in splits with his performance. He surely had the audience at the edge of their seats and set the event off to a great start. Next, Mr. Mahesh Israni, CMO of Parag Milk Foods, took the stage and introduced the guests to a host of mouth-watering cheeses brought to them by Go Cheese. Celebrity Chef Ranveer introduced us to his specially curated cheese themed menu while also taking us through the delicious varieties of Go Gourmet Cheeses. And what we were served: Sumptuous Cheese Platter, Wine, Cheese Poppers, Quesadilla, Macha Custard, Mango Cheese Cake and many more. Combining the art of dining and wining, it’s an all encompassing experience. Cheers! Get. Set. Go Cheese!

I been there to attend the masterclass by chef Ranveer brar which are supposed to be pre- booked fine dine experience that I've got.

Chef Ranveer Brar itself created the scrumptious and deliciously die for the gourmet meals which are truly eye appeal aswel as tastiest meal I ever had

If you want a wonderful meal, excellent service, and a delightful food presentation, then you must visit TAG -Gourmet Art kitchen by chef ranveer brar !!

The staff is so well-trained to make your experience one to remember, and they truly care. Almost makes me forget that I am in hustle bustle of Mumbai City.

We are not always known for our warm hospitality-The foods are superb, the salads are enormousssssssss.....and the desserts are sinful!

Skip lunch, go in hungry and be prepared for a joyous evening! 🎀

Vegetarian gourmet restaurant with a difference. If you are in mood to try unknown flavours combined in unusual ways, this is the right place for you. I have never had sabudana soaked in beetroot juice and used in place of boondi in raita. Their fresh herbs risotto had okra in it!! Have to hand it out to the chefs for dishing out one exotic plate after another with painstaking plating et al. Enjoyed my own master chef like experience. Make sure you are not too hungry else the small meal size may be a disappointment.

Went to TAG for lunch but found the place a bit cold and dull as was empty where all places around were packed. The life of the place were the interesting selection of coffee table books on display and for sale. That made us want to atleast sit and try a salad. The Watermelon Sashimi salad was really nice and I assume the rest of food would be too but since we were in mood of a more livelier place, we asked for the cheque.

Terrible terrible service. Was asked to leave restaurant before finishing my meal. Please do not visit. Food seemed shabbily finished and forcefully served.

Divine, mind-blowing, out-of-the-world are some of the adjectives that come to my mind after my visit at TAG - GourmArt Kitchen By Ranveer Brar.

Every dish is a palate elevating experience. Every plate is a piece of art which has been articulately laid out for you. One could have never expected vegetarian food to be so sublimely exotic.

Chef Ranveer Brar is definitely India’s answer to Gordon Ramsay. Hats off to Chef Ranveer for putting GourmArt on the international map. Finally we have something to be proud of.

A round of applause to Natasha Gowani for promoting art and culture with such a brilliant concept.

A vote of thanks for the warm hospitality from the TAG GourmArt team Shirin and Nikhil for inviting me over. Someone who really balled us up with his smiling face and service was Sahil. He deserves a pat on the back too!

Tag is currently not operational for lunch so call and check with the restaurant before booking through Zomato. I had a reservation for lunch, booking made through Zomato . Also the restaurant did not bother to call back to inform me about them not being operational as the entire stuff was busy with training( the reason manger gave for not calling).Apparently they have informed Zomato to not take any bookings but Zomato is still taking. My lunch plan was ruined already but hopefully not for the others. So check with restaurant before making any bookings.

Carrot cake in black rice is one of the most exotic things you'd eat. And the lavender iced tea is absolutely out of the world. All fishes are small bites so amongst the four of us we ended up ordering 10 dishes, none of which you would have ever heard of most probably.

Excellent gourmet class by chef ranbir brar followed by scrumptious five course lunch. Menu Seasonal beans hummus , multigrain multigilati , Afghan mantua , chocolate fondant ..Excellent service !!

How would you feel when the magician himself weaves his magic on to you??
Surprised? Excited?
Well, we were certainly in for a delightful treat when we visited TAG - The Gourmart Kitchen..
Located in one of the most happening food location - Kamala Mills, Lower Parel - the moment you enter you get those positive vibes from the place. The whole place is divided into two sections - the area on the first floor is an art gallery and the upper floor is the restaurant area.
The vibe of this restaurant is very peaceful and calm, even when it is packed. The seating is comfortable and the there are wall length book shelves showcasing some good titles and collector's editions of various books and genres. You can see through the kitchen area where the team is creating pure magic.
Here is what we tried and liked:
Kale Papdi Chaat - Though chaats are in fashion these days at gourmet restaurants, we don't think we have tried such a marvellous chaat anywhere! Crisp Kale fritters and Khari biscuits on a mashed potato base and loaded with Tex-Mex chutneys and yoghurt.
Afghan Mantu - Traditionally a meat dumpling based preparation, Chef Brar transformed it into this lip-smacking dish that is fully vegetarian and bursting with flavours. Soft dumplings, a tangy tomato based gravy, chickpeas, pomegranate seeds, smoked yoghurt and probably magic. Loved it!
Watermelon Sashimi Salad - A delicious small plate with a combination of yam guacamole (which is the star of the show) and watermelon.
We also had Scrambled Eggs on Toast, Mushroom Galawat with the perfect charred and smokey taste.
Chocolate Fondant here is a must have. Rich and flavorful, just perfect. It is served warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
TAG Gourmart Kitchen is a place where you will be exposed to a whole lot of new flavours that you did not know existed. The restaurant is especially known for its small plates but we consider them big on flavours.

Purely speaking as a student, it is extremely expensive. The portions are bite sized and not a very ideal place to have a good hearty meal.
Their food however has the MasterChef finesse which we see on television and the presentation is absolutely beautiful. It looks like a piece of art but does not serve its purpose of filling stomachs.
However, I must say that the quality of food put up is superior and the menu is so interesting that I would want to try them all out.
Service is good, the waiter actually narrates the entire dish out and may explain the process of cooking too. All in all, it’s a very interesting place but I’m not quite sure if it’s worth the money spent.

So I selected this place for lunch one afternoon with my sister based amazing ratings commanded by them on zomato. However, all through the meal I wondering how such a high rating was justified. We ordered the 4 dish tasting menu and ended up eating the kale chaat salad, green pea humus & chocolate fondant. True to their name, all their dishes were very artfully presented and they deserve full marks on their presentation. But that's where their artful goodness ended. None of the dishes tasted half as good as they looked. Their kale chaat salad tasted like a morose bhajiya. It was also more expensive than other restaurants in the vicinity.

Read the great reviews Tag has been receiving and went there for lunch on a weekday and I think thats where we went wrong. The atmosphere was very very dull. The staff looked totally unprepared and ill at ease and the guy who took the drink orders was very inexperienced. It was more as if the staff had been just recruited and were being trained which also happens to be true. We still stuck around having taken the trouble to travel from Bandra. And the whole time we were the only ones for lunch. And thats telling something. Maybe the management should have a relook at keeping the place open for lunch on weekdays. The food was good but not enjoyable definitely not with having a training session going on in a nearby table. But dining out includes not just the food but the whole ambience service etc and this is what was totally lacking on a weekday lunch.

This is a real class fine dine experience to your yaar buds. We were glad to spot the master chef himself in the restaurant fir some shoot.

The ambience is totally different and takes a while to digest the feel. The staff is quite knowledgeable about the food they are serving. They shallmake it a point to explain you the dish while ordering and will again explain when the food is served. We ended up ordering almost 50% of vegetarian menu as their serving portion is very small and for one person only. Being in group we got a chace to feed our buds with a lot of options.

Each dish was freshly crafted with freshest ingredientes. Presentation of dishes were immaculate and True Master Chef style.

The only problem we faced was with the green tea which made them loose a star from the rating. The tea was over brewed and when we gave the feedback, expected them to replace or take it off from the bill which didn't happen. A restaurant of this stature should have taken care of this one.

But still worth a visit to enjoy their gastronomy and food monogamy...

Lets keep it simple:
1. If you are really hungry and want to eat a lot, this is not the place to be at. You will leave with a light tummy and wallet.
2. If you are into gourmet and molecular formats and need a pic for Instagram, its worth a try!

The only reason for the 4/5 is that there was a party going on so they only had a set menu and we were not informed about it when we booked the table. But nevertheless the food was really good and a must try. Everything we had was upto the mark and absolutely gobsmacking
Watermelon cooler-5/5
Mushroom ghalawat-4.5/5
Afghan mantu-5/5
Kale and papdi salad-5/5
Rhubarb risotto-5/5
Chocolate fondant-5/5
Amazing food , nice place
the same mango drink tasted different with both of us one was more spicy so there is no uniformity and standardization in food products...... the quantity of the salad is very less as per price charged it's India at the end and you can't charge obnoxiously and serve chindi I mean it should be good enough for a basic couple we can't have seperate salad, starter, drink, main course, desert for everyone.... we generally share..... the food served is not sufficient it only serves one..... the toilet is a stair down which is very difficult experience..... also if the food takes too much of time to be served our desert came first then pasta and after telling him 100 times the drink came which was very sad.....u need the drink with food what's the point serving it later..... this was second time first time as a novelty experience it's good but I hated it the second time as you want to come back if there's proper service and price
We visited here in a event. Single Malts with SuperFood with Chef Ranveer Brar.
Food was excellent and presentation of food is too good. I feel very happy as such big brand serves pure veg food. We had different types of dishes. Ambiance is great. Chef Ranveer Brar himself visited all tables n explained us what they prepared and served us.

TAG - GourmArt Kitchen is all about creativity, the ambience and plating of the food/desserts. What all we tried...Curry Laksa, Tomato Cardamon Shorva, Dahi kebab, Kale Papdi Chaat, Palm Heart Biryani, Naan Sampler, Nutella & Chocolate Pave and Pistachio sponge. The portion size of the dishes are small, it's more of an individual order plate. Food is good but nothing wow or extraordinary. They can work on the service part a bit, the servers were clueless and lost about the 5 plate tasting items for the day. Overall a good experience but could have been better.

They hardly had any options in jain, and worst of it is that when you call them to confirm things they were misleading. I really had great expectation, very disappointed.

Food - 8/10
Ambiance - 9/10
Service - 10/10
VFM - 4/10

So this cute looking restaurant is located inside Kamala Mills on the first and second floor. The place is very well lit and very well decorated. A lot of care has clearly gone into the placement of tables and showpieces. The place has good soft music and tables have a lot of privacy. The place is ideal for fine dining or corporate formal meets.

We ordered three dishes between two of us.
1. Seasonal beans hummus
2. Naan sampler
3. Dahi kebab
All the three dishes were very unique and well made. The hummus is of seasonal beans to be eaten with hard pita bread. It looks green and different but essentially tastes same as typical hummus. The dahi kebab was outstanding though. It was very well presented. The three kebabs were topped with dahi and other chat garnished with coriander leaves. It tastes very well too. Naan sampler is another one of their signature dishes one must try. They serve two pieces of three different types of naans served with a bowl of black daal and green mint chutney. We asked for rosemary and popadum, blue cheese and apricot and black garlic ones. All the three were outstanding especially the the blue cheese and apricot one. The cheese flavour is quite prominent and eaten with black daal, it's always a treat. The Dalal itself was quite good but nothing out of this world. It was good as you can easily taste the flavours of the naans.

We ordered two drinks
1. Coffee sangria
2. Green iced tea of pomegranate and mixed berries.
The coffee sangria tastes very bitter and unless you are a big fan of black coffee, I would strongly advise against ordering this drink. I hated it in the beginning but it tastes a lot better after a few sips. The green iced tea however was very refreshing and quite tasty.

We had chocolate fondant for dessert. It's an orange chocolate ball served along side black pepper vanilla ice cream. I have to admit I was a little sceptic before ordering a black pepper ice cream, but It turned out to be the best dish of the night. The black pepper vanilla ice cream especially was amazing. It was very well presented and it tastes so well. The chocolate ball is warm from inside filled with liquid chocolate. A must have at this restaurant.

All in all an amazing place to try. However I did feel the portion size is very small. Except of the naan sampler, I found the portion size of all the other dishes should improve. But definitely worth a visit.
Attended the @Gocheese #GoCheeseTasting event recently at TAG: Gourmet Kitchen hosted by brand Ambassador Ranveer Brar himself.
A fabulous venue indeed. Loved the unique acrylic dining chairs and black n white table cloth amongst a whole lot of other eye catching decor. The place was so clean n sparkly. Infact, the ambiance was truly classy.

The food bites n desserts served were scrumptious and delicious.
We had cheese centric dishes. Cheeseballs, cheese toasts, cheese tarts. Also paired different international cheeses with wines. For dessert we were served Mango cheese cake and Matcha creme brulee.

Will I visit again? Yes, for a grand vegetarian gourmet Dining experience.

much touted chef from the master chef line alot of my clients had wanted to go to see the "modern indian" ... sadly it pretty much is the same as all the other "modern" places... everything is over priced becaused they can plate a dish.. nothing absolutely nothing had any soul or love to it.

pro-tip. - avoid

TAG by Ranveer Brar is a culinary experience in itself but it quite misses the mark.

We went for lunch on a Saturday. The decor is classy with the concept of an Art Gallery around the restaurant. The chairs are beautiful, the books displayed exquisite.

The staff is courteous, helpful and well informed, although we asked for a stick of garlic bread and despite waiting for it, it never came. Minus marks there. They brought the books displayed around the gallery on request for one to leaf through.

Coming to the main attraction, the FOOD!

The plating was impeccable but sadly, the food could be so much better. The whole masterchef idea does suggest some pretentiousness, but it leads to slight disappointment too- both in terms of quality and quantity.

We opted for the five plate tasting which had the following:

↗️Curry Laksa- Treat to the eye, and to the mouth. Perfect balance of flavours with each ingredient shining through. (4/5)

↗️Afghan Mantu- Didn't expect much from this one, but turned out to be the most mouth watering fare. Served in a jar, these dumplings were a great mix of chatpata lentils coupled with smooth yoghurt. (5/5)

↗️ Mushroom Galawat- Completely melted in the mouth. Two pieces of Mushroom Galawat served with thin garlic bread and chutney. (4/5)

↗️Kale Papdi Chat- Didn't really strike a chord. Meant to be a chaat dish, it lacked the right punch and the flavour. The only good element on the plate was the yoghurt which was really smooth and creamy. (2/5)

↗️Merlot Poached Pear- Heights of disappointment. It is plated in a super pretentious manner and leaves one wishing for a bigger serving on sight. The taste was also a drasticlet down with absolutely nothing to rave about which kind of makes one glad about the serving size . (1/5)

We went ahead and ordered a couple of more dishes on recommendation.

↗️Hand torn Burrata- The server sang praises of the dish and impressed, we went ahead and ordered it. Tasteless, inedible and zero combination of flavours. We didn't even bother finishing the meagre portion that was served. (0/5)

↗️Coffee Sangria- Something new, different and refreshing. Order only and only if you really like coffee. The first sip is refreshing but the more one sips, the more one looses the oomph factor. (3/5)

↗️Nutella and Chocolate Pave- The saving grace after the horrible experience of the erstwhile mentioned pear, it was a treat to the eye and to the mouth. Beautiful dark chocolate icecream coupled with Nutella and Chocolate Pave. It was a safe option, for few things can go wrong with Nutella, but a Ranveer Brar restaurant shouldn't be about the conventional stuff.

Also we were billed wrongly. On pointing it out they immediately corrected it and apologized, but connoisseur visiting such posh places usually skip checking the bill. Such neglectful behavior should be avoided by the staff (they billed me separately for the Poached Pear despite it being a part of the 5 platter serving).

Overall, if one is really excited, they can visit but it won't be a meal to remember.
Diya
The portion sizes don't match the price which is disappointing, although the waiters are really friendly.
We went on a Friday evening and we were the only ones in the restaurant which made the environment kinda slack
Mrs Desai
We had the galouti mushrooms which had excellent toast and too much cumin in the mushroom. The laksa curry was perfection. The sushi watermelon fell on the plate and the waiter used his hand to pick it up!!!! It was stuffed with rice and so wasted the wonderful watermelon flavor. The guacamole was average. The Afghan wontons were perfection. The risotto was a delight. The food tends to sour flavors so a bit unfriendly for gourmand teens and pre-teens. Overall the ambience was very slack. Very friendly though.
Palak Kubadia
Had a lot of expectations from this place but it failed to impress. Quantities are really less for the price it demands and even the food is nowhere up to the mark. Good place incase you just want to enjoy the ambience and order nothing

Tag by Chef Ranveer Brar was on my bucket list for a long time right from the time he announced of a restaurant opening in kamala mills, but it has been a disappointment for me. I have been following chef ranveer brar and have absolutely loved his recipes and style of cooking but the food we ate at tag was just not up to the mark. We were first waited at the bar downstairs despite prior bookings with barely any lights on. The concept of an art gallery with restaurant sounded interesting but however the projector screen at the first level which projected paintings didn't just get the true sense of the concept out. At the bar certain regular alcohol wasn't available whereas they asked us to take the premium brand. After about 20 mins wait we were allotted a table. We were really hopeful for a delicious gourmet feast. I ordered for a soup kale and mushroom cappuccino and that had nice flavours and served with foam. Next we ordered for dahi ke kebab nothing unique to it nothing exceptional and the taste too wasn't too exceptional as we have had better and mouth melting dahi ke kebabs elsewhere. We then decided to go for chefs recommendations in the menu hence ordered for a mushroom galawat as had heard it's not to be missed but it was a huge disappointment with two portions served with grilled bread and chutney it had a near burnt flavour nothing close to being the mouth melting galawat. Then we ordered for naan sampler as it had various different stuffing and we ordered for vadapav cheese and black pepper and rosemary and papadam, the vada pav stuffed had nothing close to the vada pav flavours except some garlic chutney powder the naans were served with some dal and salsa. The other two were also average taste nothing that you can call for a repeat order or savour it thoroughly. Finally we thought of having some nice palm heart biryani again chef recommended but the rice weren't evenly cooked again a huge let down the taste were subtle though if u ignore the rice. Our final hope was the dessert and thankfully that didn't let us down completely. We ordered for a nutella chocolate pave and it just was the best thing we could have from our meal. the only good thing was it was plated well. I have given a three rating only to the soup and the dessert. What we paid for and what we got was a huge disappointment and the name by which we went.

If you want to have the proper masterchef experience then you should visit TAG - the perfect blend of art and flavors !!!
The ambiance is unique...on the ground floor they have a beautiful art gallery...spacious with few sofa seating and restaurant on the first floor. The dining area has colored chair seating, open kitchen and a book self. Subtle & elegant decor !!!
The menu is pure veg but they have egg preparations in few of their dishes...so read the descriptions carefully before placing order !!! The food options are limited but you will fall for their creativity !!!

We had -
Kale and mushroom cappucino - we decided this soup as it was RR(Ranveer's recommendation) in the menu... lovely combination of kale with mushroom served with white chocolate truffle froth, porcini dust, orange and cheese puff !!! Loved it !!!

Corn, miso and egg with corn tea - yer another RR !!! Miso butter tossed corn topped with 62 degrees egg shot of corn tea !!! Nice presentation but tastewise it was average !!!

Afghan mantu - Dumplings with tomato braised lentils and snoked yoghurt !!! Smokey yoghurt was going perfectly with tabgy tomato flavour...excellent taste !!!

Mushroom galawat - Ultra finely minced mushroom with a hint of truffle served with sour dough crostinies and buttermilk lachha...garnished with cilantro leaves. Brilliant texture...excellent taste. A must try !!!

Every dish is just a tasting portion (small plate) unlike lndian notions of serving...but the plating, presentation, combination of flavors was outstanding !!! And the best part with small plates is that you can try out many dishes without feeling full !!! Though it becomes an expenisve affair but not all restaurants make each dish this way as if it was being presented in a masterchef competition. Staff was courteous & very well versed with the menu. Loved the way the staff explained every dish on our plate. We enjoyed everything we ordered but it may not fill your stomach !!! Go for an artsy gourmet experience because you are not going to regret after tasting their dishes !!!

Taste quotient - 4.5/5
Ambiance - 4.5/5
Service - 4.5/5
VFM - 4/5

Each ingredient can be tasted, felt and sensed. What you will receive on your plates will be nothing less than artistic brushes of edible delight. However, as hard core Indian food lovers, the mix and match of global tongues may not be liked by all. Also, the portions are eye-popping and work against Indian notions of serving. Want to feel arty inside out? Do head to this place then. To fill your stomachs, please don't.

We are always on a look out for new and unique places to treat our taste buds. So there are times when we go to new places for the tasty food or the ambience or maybe a new cuisine or theme or even the luxury it promises to offer.. But this time we were in for a journey into culinary excellence! A treat we get to experience very rarely. Built extremely tastefully, basking in glory which spells lavishness is TAG – GourmArt Kitchen by Ranveer Brar. Ranveer is a celebrated Indian chef – with his MasterChef India fame as well as his stint as Head Chef at Novotel – and our expectations of this place were huge!

Vegetarian food presentation has never looked better. Simple food with a twist - giving some great flavour combinations. The blue cheese and apricot naan was a delight as was the batata wada naan - but what made it even better was that they were served absolutely hot. Enjoyed all that we tried. The desserts were scrumptious and looked straight out of the MasterChef Australia series - worth going again for. Loved the way the waiters explained what was on our plate.

Alright.... first impression of the place is pretty mesmerizing. But i wish the food had a similar impact, which was pretty much the purpose of the visit.

This self described Gourmet kitchen is nothing more then a bad rip off the classics sold at a shimmery place.

Starting with the service, the staff is not at all welcoming and efficient. I had to look out for them again and again just to ask for water, the server on my table was really slow and inefficient at least. He had no motivation to work it seemed.

Notable dish: NONE

All the dishes as i mentioned were a really bad attempt at reinventing them. They were not at all upto the mark, infact the essence was missing in every dish.

AFGHAN MANTU: way to less and way too big for a mantu, mantu are these soft melt in mouth dumplings, their mantu was served in a stupid jar, it lacked flavor, it lacked enough quantity even to register the taste.

PANEER OLIVE TIKKA: nothing different, the usual stuff with a different name.

PALM HEART BIRYANI : THe WorSt dish. It tasted as if straight came out of a MTR packet. Same taste. Tasted old, too over powering flavors, too much ginger garlic. A very bad attempt.

NAAn SAMplEr: again, small naans, with a table spoon of daal and some sort of onion dip. An average fare.

RAVIOLI; again no essence... the ravioli was no where tasted like Ravioli or what they claim to be, the sauce in the base was good but rest was disaster, litrally drops of a makhni sauce that is not even enough for your palette to register.

Visit for the ambience not for the food, not worth it.

TAG lives up to its name of being a GourmART kitchen and Mr Ranveer Brar has done a fantastic job at food designing. Its one of the most creative ways of serving that I have come across.

Couple of quick points -
Wen u call them you will hear 3 standard things --- 1. Kids below 15 are not allowed.... 2. Dress Code where shorts r not allowed for men.... 3. The menu is strictly vegetarian..
Let me tell u that No 1 and No 2 were standard broken rules on all tables...We saw men walk in shorts and kids below 15 practically on all tables - Disappointing coz v did not get our kids bcoz of the so cald rule..

We sat 15 mins on our table and just had the beverage and food menu in front of us and not a soul to ask us if we were ready to order or just a greeting with smile. They did have crowd but they were not as busy...A welcoming, interactive n smiling staff adds on brownie points to any food experience...

Menu is very limited and in a large group of about 10 ppl u cn end up ordering practically everything. BEWARE - Portion size to price ratio is a complete mismatch (ul see at the end of my review)

We had the following between 5 of us - (*x is quantity ordered)

1. Curry Laksa soup - nice one to start with
2. Watermelon Sashimi Salad * 2 - watermelon heated at 62° gives a lovely texture and taste served on Yam Guacamole, red raddish and emame glaze...
3. Mediterranean Pumpkin salad - chunks of pumpkin and we had 2 pieces of falafels at the side. Had a yummy taste to it..
4. Wasabi Edamame Hummus * 2 - one of their must haves.
5.Mushroom galawat *2 - definitely order this. U wont miss a non veg starter once you have this...cooked to perfection n mouth melting.
6. Hand Torn Buratta - can give it a miss.
7. Spinach n garlic parsley open bread was juat about ok as well.
8. Konyakkuyaki *2 - yummy...muat have..
9. Choc Fondant - oooh la la...niceee
10. Pistachio sponge - uh uh...cn miss..
11. White Sangria - fruit pieces cut too big and that spoilt the fun.
12.Red Wine
13. Corona Beer - cheers...

All this for 5 of us and we left the place hungry after footing a bill of INR 8,144/-
Was the meal worth it?? - Not really except for the creativity in serving.
Was the place worth it?? - An art gallery converted to restaurant doesnt make it worth the money and food..Seating was not as comfortable either and there is nothing really in the name of ambience.
All in all an Ok experience and honestly cn b given a miss..
A proper masterchef experience awaits one and all, every dish here is a masterpiece in terms of conceptualization, execution and presentation. Ofcourse that means prices are high and portions are small but it is worth it for going at least once. Decor is very artistic and upbeat while the staff knows the menu inside out and gives nice recommendations. We tried almost half the menu and can't wait to go back.

My personal recommendations would be-
Hearty Tomato Cardamon Shorva with Ginger Chevre Sphere, Dhokla Crisps, Crispy Fava and Salted Methi,

Delicious Aubergine Caponata flatbread with Garlic Crumbs and Aged Balsamic with Pine Nuts,

Outstanding Seasonal Beans Hummus with Sweet Peas, Beans, Red Radish, Flax Seeds & Khakra Toast,

Very innovative Kale Papdi Chaat with Kale Fritters and Potato Puff tossed up into a chaat with Yoghurt espuma, TAG chutneys and tempura pearls as well as true melt in mouth Mushroom Galawat i.e. Lucknowi Galawat Kebab with a hint of truffle and sour dough crostinis,

Don't miss the delicious dessert of Chocolate Fondant with Orange, Thyme Center, Black Pepper Vanilla Ice Cream, as well as Lunch Special Veggie Dessert with Red Cabbage and Cranberry Panna Cotta, Yoghurt Sponge, Salted Caramel Walnut, Sweet Balsamic Caviar and Ginger crumble. If the descriptions have got your mouth watering, trust me when I say that the actual taste is even better :)

Was floored by the veggie friendly fine dine restaurant.
What I loved ? The white chocolate mushroom kale soup which was insane and extremely bursting with flavors. The mushroom galawat will make even a non vegetarian appreciate possibilities of a delicious vegetarian kebab...Definitely going here again for these two.
What I didn't like - The nan platter was quite blah .. except the blue cheese nan, none others had any distinct flavour :( the dal makhani kind dip which was served along was interesting but nah not so great.
The burrata too was quite ok, easily can be given a miss.
What was OK? The Afghan manto was served in a stylish glass jar however felt of it was served in a open dish like a saucer with a deep bottom .. dish could have been enjoyed better.
Richa AKA Richie Rich
Ranveer Brar has done it again. As if leaving young girls shrieking in his presence is not enough (I have seen this firsthand and would just like to say-he is married girls, get a grip :P), he goes ahead and creates a piece of art, literally! One of my most memorable review invites-welcome to TAG-GourmArt Kitchen By Ranveer Brar.

The first floor is like a blank canvas, literally, very white, contemporary, minimalist, interested in showcasing works of other artists be it via photographs or paintings and so on, it is on the first floor with colorful chairs and open kitchen, an inviting book shelf, a semi-geometric decor pattern where Ranveer's culinary artistry comes to fore. The ambiance here is so welcoming, positive and upbeat that I won't mind coming back here every week just to soak up on all the positivity,

The menu is eclectic with naan sharing same space as sushi and flatbread given same importance as upma and risotto! But nothing is as it seems, nothing is plain Jane, it is all encased in a shell of creativity, with ingredients like Tofu, Kale, Flax Seeds et al making their appearance in the unlikeliest of places very successfully. The plating, presentation and top-notch quality of each dish makes me not complain about the pricing. If I am being honest, I would certainly agree that it is expensive. Every dish is just a tasting portion (small plate) and for a hulk like me, it means I need at least 4-5 plates before I can call it a meal (so I will need to pay at least Rs.1500 for my meal alone)!

But,again, in the vein of honesty, I would admit that it is worth it. Why? Because nobody becomes a masterchef overnight. It takes years of skills, practice, dedication, massive amounts of creativity and ingenuity to achieve this level of mastery and we are paying a premium for that. Just like we pay a premium when we buy branded jeans of 4000 bucks when we know it costs barely 400 bucks to make. There are not many places I would get to sample mock butter chicken ravioli or a watermelon sashimi salad, but here I do. Not many places have their staff so well versed with the menu that they suggest dishes perfect for each individual palate as the staff here does. Not many kitchens make every single plate stand out as if it was an entry in the final round of Masterchef competition. Not many places are vegetarian (with some egg dishes also making an appearance), yet elegantly gourmet in theory as well as execution that they help so efficiently in dispelling the myth of 'veg food can't be tasty/gourmet/international/compelling/extraordinary'. So yes, I am ready to splurge a bit here every 2-3 months or so because I am ready to pay the premium :)

The best part about small plates,we get to do portion control and also try out a variety of dishes instead of getting hungover on massive amounts of ghee/butter/oil in just 1-2 dishes (I am looking at you,dal makhani and veg biryani of last night :P)

So we started our lunch with an off the menu refreshing Orange mocktail for me and The Coffee Sangria with Americano, Oranges, Green Apple, Sweet & Sour Mix, Pomegranate for my sister (a bit too heavy for my palate but my sister loved it,so :D)

Our soup journey was kicked off by Tomato Cardamon Shorva with Ginger Chevre Sphere, Dhokla Crisps, Crispy Fava and Salted Methi, very wholesome and fresh, subtle yet flavorsome,

My absolute favorite was Chilled Melon Gazpacho with Tofu Puree and Toasted Almonds, cool, refreshing, rolling around my tongue like a sorbet, so light and pure, I could marry this one!

An array of small plates made their appearance next, starting with Cucumber Kimchi Roll with Tempura Pearls & Mango Lime Foam, this one had the stamp of authentic sushi all over it with just a hint of acidity, loved it,

My sister's favorite eggplant made an appearance with a flatbread - Aubergine Caponata with Garlic Crumbs and Aged Balsamic with Pine Nuts, I thought it would be excessively oily (it wasn't!) or unnecessarily cheesy (again, it wasn't) or at the very least, bland and boring but I actually finished 2/3rds of it, so enough said :D

One of the must-haves here is their Seasonal Beans Hummus with Sweet Peas, Beans, Red Radish, Flax Seeds & Khakra Toast, get all the cooling qualities of hummus with down-to-earth ingredients, a healthy choice we couldn't get enough of, and a filling portion for a light eater too!

Another must-have for me was Afghan Mantu i.e. meatless meaty Central Asian Dumplings with Tomato Braised Lentils and Smoked Yoghurt, this is a dumpling like never had before, soft, meaty, an explosion of flavors, little pockets of delight is how I would describe them,

If you hate Kale, then you must also try Kale Papdi Chaat with Kale Fritters and Potato Puff tossed up into a chaat with Yoghurt espuma, TAG chutneys and tempura pearls, none of that horrible Kale bitterness to be found here, the tangy-crunchy avatar of Kale here is good to look at, delicious to the core, very unique twist that an average foodie like me won't even dream of,

Finally, melt in mouth Mushroom Galawat i.e. Lucknowi Galawat Kebab with a hint of truffle and sour dough crostinis, buttermilk lacchha is what would warm the heart of any mushroom lover, I always find kebabs anywhere a bit too salty for my taste but could find no fault with this one's flavor or texture :)

Among desserts, we settled on 3 distinctive choices, starting with my favorite Chocolate Fondant with Orange, Thyme Center, Black Pepper Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Soil, it was as dense and rich as I expected it to be, as worthy of a repeat as any good chocolate dessert should be,

Next up was Merlot Poached Pear with Creme Anglaise, Burnt Chocolate , Fresh Berries, Fillo Pastry, a good juxtaposition of creaminess with fresh fruits, but a bit too eggy for me personally,

Finally we had the beautiful Lunch Special Veggie Dessert with Red Cabbage and Cranberry Panna Cotta, Yoghurt Sponge, Salted Caramel Walnut, Sweet Balsamic Caviar and Ginger crumble, very light and refreshing, all the different components complimenting each other beautifully to create a fitting finale to our meal,

So, food is delicious, staff is super efficient, service is extremely quick, decor is charming and uplifting and Ranveer Brar has created a distinctive mark in all aspects, what's not to like? Can't wait to be back :)

This place is an absolute bliss and heaven in your mouth!!

I went for lunch, and was a tad disappointed to find that the menu was different. Things I badly wanted to try was not there on the menu.. But nevertheless! I didn't leave disappointed.

If you are someone who only cares about eating and filling yourself up, this place may not be for you...

They have tasting plates, so each dish we ordered we got a couple of bites ( we were two so it worked perfectly). Ranveer recommended dishes were awesome, and the desserts were mind blowing! I felt like I was in a masterchef kitchen and tasting and rating the dishes, admiring the playing, and looking for that crunch in my mouth.

Highly recommend if you are a food enthusiast and like master chef (or ranveer brar 😝)

Horrible ! There were very limited options & the quantity was also way too less , it was as if you have come for a tasting session. Very disappointed ! Ruined our special occasion 🙈

Ranveer Brar is an Indian chef, TV show host, judge and food stylist. He is loved by one and all. TAG- GourmArt Kitchen by Ranveer Brar is mainly a vegetarian restaurant (they have few egg options). Located in Kamala Mills this place is a complete standout when it comes to ambiance, food presentation & concept of food quantity. Firstly, ambiance is extremely unique and appealing. Divided into two levels were ground level is a beautiful art gallery paradise for art-lovers. Few sofa seating, catchy paintings on the walls, huge french windows and white color dominance ground floor ambience is very soothing and relaxing. Level one is the dinning area which has colour chairs, sofa seating, open kitchen and book shelve. Ambiance is enough appealing for a re-visit.

Staff service is prompt, smiling and courteous.Educated staff who knows In & Out about dishes, were a great help.Kudos!!

Pricing :- A lot has been spoken about quantity in Tag which many people found less or compared to price they thought it is less. I was very keen to know actual reason for less quantity and wanted to figure out it by myself. So, this is as per my observation, firstly place is no less then a five star restaurant and when you compare food quality it is one of the best in Mumbai. Now, quantity is less as they want you to explore more dishes rather then just having one or two with huge quantity which actually makes sense. Also, dishes are not priced that high it's within the range (competitive). They are good with every dish, extremely unique with combination of food which only Ranveer Brar could come up with. So, One who values food quality, dinning experience will find worthy for sure.

Here's what I tried at Tag- GourmArt Kitchen by Ranveer Brar :-

1.Orange Malt :-
Orange flavour mocktail was soothing.

2. Basil Mint Mocktail :-
lemon,basil,,Icy mocktail was refreshing.

Appetizers :-

3.Watermelon Sashimi Salad :-
Guacamole salad with vide watermelon as topping, toasted sesame with brothy glaze was extremely delicious. Presentation of all dishes are very good.

4.Dahi Papdi Chaat :-
Crispy papdi, yogurt, boiled potatoes,red-green chilly chaat was yum!! This guys are good with the usual stuff with hint of uniqueness.

5. Seasonal Beans Hummus :-
This sesame hummus had flax seeds and Khakra toast.Ambrosial to say the least. #Not to be missed for hummus lovers.

6. Dahi Kebab :-
Oh !! I so loved this one. I ended my ordering this melt in mouth kebab twice, it was so good. Crispy Mushroom chiwda,Yogurt, galette with rasgulla chaat salad made kebab an epicurean delight.#A must have.

7. Scrambled egg :-
This healthy dish had truffled scrambled eggs over ragi raisin toast bread was tasty.

8. Mushroom Galouti :-
Sour dough crostini, butter milk lacchha, hint of truffle in tender mushroom galouti kebab made it delectable.

9. Naan Sampler :-
Never had such unique naans, Blue cheese and apricot,Vada pav,Cheese and black garlic,Rosemary and Popadum all four were very smooth and went well with spicy hot and cold dips. My favourite was vada pav naan filled with potatoes. DO DO order it !!

10 . Green Tea
:- Camellia sinensis leaves hot tea was prefect refresher antioxidant to end my meal.

Desserts :-

1. Chocolate Fondant :-
Chocolate soil, black pepper vanilla ice cream, this chocolate filled dessert was luscious.

2. Pistachio Sponge :-
Miso,Fennel olives, mascarpone, kaffir lime dessert was perfect to satisfy my big sweettooth.

Overall, I had a scrumptious meal at Tag-GourmArt Kitchen and highly recommend this place. True foodie can't miss this place Go Indulge.

We went for a group party on a weekend. The ambience is decent. They have a concept of small plates so don't expect any dish with a huge quantity. But the better part if that you get to taste a lot of variety due to this. We mostly tried their specials based on their recommendations since it was our first time here. It's a decent place to eat in Kamala mills, but if you are looking for value for money, then you would be surely disappointed. In short, go here if someone is treating you, but out of your own pocket, NAAAA..We paid around 8k for 5 of us, so u now knw what I mean..

Simoni Shah

Awesome food, but staff literacy there is scope of improvement.. for tables booked at 10 pm the service is super quick as their last order is 11.10 pm and they are like eager to shut down the place ..

Pathetic... Worst Food... Will not suggest this place to anybody even if its free... substandard food quality... smallest ever servings you can imagine.... not at all worth the price

Worst Fusion food I have ever tasted.. Went to Masala Library, spice Klub but this is the worst of the lot... no sense going here for sure!!!

This place is so modern and classy. TAG is a restaurant and a gallery and it has some of the most interesting interiors I've ever seen in a restaurant.
Food is pretty interesting too.

Here's everything I had:
Fresh orange juice and ginger ale
Strong homemade ginger ale toned down by the orange juice. No fizz. Extremely refreshing.

The unusual
A gin based drink that had freshly muddled strawberries and other berry juices. The combination of gin and berries is indeed unusual. I enjoyed it!

Tomato cardamom shorva
Amazing tomato soup -literally tangy goodness..It had dhokla crisps and a generous dollop of cheese right in the centre. Must have..

Seasonal bean hummus
Khakra toast with hummus made from beans. You will also find a whole lot of Sweet peas and flax seeds in this along with some Red radish. Flavors here are a mix of a little spiciness from the radish and a mild bitterness from the flax seeds.

Watermelon sashimi salad
Crazy flavor burst! Watermelon which is inherently sweet and watery, and has a unique texture in this. Along with guacamole from yam which has its own peculiar flavor. And toasted sesame on top.

Afghani Mantu
Dumplings with tomato braised lentils and smoked yogurt..loved this. Tomato flavor and smoky creamy yoghurt go really well together. It's also got some pomegranate.

Flat bread
Spinach and garlic with pine nuts, feta cheese, some pomegranate. Excellent.

Kale papdi chaat
Fried Kale fritters with chutneys, pomegranate, Dahi, fried Moong dal, potato.

Spicy Rhubarb beet risotto
Risotto in the form of a tikki. It had a tangy flavor. And some chips on the side. Don't miss the carrot on the side. It has an amazing taste.

Chocolate fondant with black pepper ice cream
Orange flavored chocolate fondant with a chunky Strawberry right in the centre. And black pepper Ice Cream that is probably one of the creamiest ones I've had. And the pepper is really quite mild!

Definitely hit this place..The menu is pretty interesting and so is the food.

More reviews on sugarspicenice.in. We visited TAG - A restaurant and a lounge/art gallery over the weekend. The food is unique, different and taste was okay. However, the portions are way too small for the price and is not worth the cost. You could visit just once if at all to get a different experience but not worth a repeat visit for sure..

Things we ordered:
Tomato Shorva
Hand Torn Burrata
Corn Miso and Corn Tea
Dahi Kebab
Upma
Naan Sampler

Let's talk about the Taste first :

It's a mix. Some dishes are excellent some horrible.

The excellent dishes :
The French onion soup ( the mushrooms too chewy though )
The perfect Dahi kebab
The beetroot risotto very well balanced in flavours and texture
The watermelon sashimi- very unique but tasty combination

The Ho -hum dishes :
The Naan platter - barely any filling yet whatever was there was tasty.
The mock meat ravioli was okish. The kale saag too bitter.

The horrible :
The carrot cake - too garlicky even to eat
The hand torn burrata- nothing extraordinary about makhan , a piece of well done bread and a chunda that is mediocre.

The Portion :
It only has "small plates" that are actually quite small. It will take 4-5 plates to fill up an average person.

The Decor : well it's a different vibe although the entire ground floor is a gallery the top floor will have a lot of table.

The service :
Good and attentive. Surprisingly it was empty on the Sunday evening.

Drinks : didn't want to try what they had and apparently they couldn't make a fresh orange mojito.

The presentation : is obviously beautiful
Abhartiya
Nothing wrong with the presentation or the food... but the taste is simply ordinary. For a celebrity chef I would expect him to give a little more attention to the taste. It feels like a gourmet chef planning a meal for the airline. Decent but leaves much to be desired .

TAG is situated in the heart of Kamala Mills, and is a product of Chef Ranveer Brar. It's a small plate GourmArt kitchen since the ground floor is an art gallery and the restaurant is on the 1st floor.

So we started off with the cocktail called Unusual, which was really unusual! A mix of berries with some gin! Absolutely loved it. A must have!

Started off with the kale papdi chaat. Kale fritters tossed up with potato puffs, yogurt foam and chutneys! A refreshing version of our Desi chaat.

Next up, Hand torn burrata! I am a huge fan of burrata, and loved this one. The burrata was as good as it could be! The only disappointment was that it was served with tomato chhunda which was on the sweeter side, which spoiled it for me.

Next up, Afghan Mantu. This is one of their best dishes and is to die for. Lentil and yogurt dumplings which melt in the mouth and are packed with flavour. A must must have here.

Next up was the mushroom galawat. This one disappointed a bit. It was a bit too bitter for me personally. The whole concept of the dish is a winner, but lacked in terms of flavour.

Next up was the multigrain maltagliati. Basically pasta served with squash, parmesan cream and olive oil hollandaise. This dish is pasta heaven. Give it a try if you're a pasta fan!

Last up was the Aubergine Caponata with garlic crumbs and aged balsamic. One of the best flatbreads I've ever had. That flatbread had so much flavour and so much cheese that you could keep eating it. Highly recommended.

Coming to desserts,
Had the Chocolate fondant and some wine poached pears.
The Chocolate fondant is really good and every Chocolate lovers to go dessert.

The wine poached pears disappointed. They were quite bland and way below expectations. Though the playing was phenomenal, but the pears lacked flavour.

Overall verdict - absolutely love the place. The ambience is so good and soothing! The best part is that TAG is a VEGETARIAN restaurant. So all the Vegetarians cribbing about options, you should check out TAG.
Would I go back? Yes definitely.
An interesting place with a mixed experience. The food was quite good.

We tried the Laska soup which was very good. It is similar to a Khowsuey.

The Afghan dish which has a dumpling with dressings with a smokey flavor was excellent.

The sushi was not that exciting

Upma was different and a little high on salt

The wasabi flavoured edamame hummus was very good.

Flatbread waa nice.

We ordered for ice teas which never came. The portions here are tiny and hence not a great value for money.
Ritu Modi
Between the four of us we ordered almost 8 dishes as the portions are extremely small. We ordered the curry laksa soup (was very nice, people fond of khowsuey should give it a try), kale papdi chaat (something different and quite tasty), dahi kebab (just had 3 kebabs and was strictly ok..avoidable I would say), naan platter with dal makhani and some peanut sauce (was really nice and different coz of the stuffings), afghan montu (just had 2 dumplings - again I would say avoidable), tomato olive tikka masala served with naan (very nice again). Lastly we had the chocolate fondant which was again fine. The place is good but just a suggestion to increase the portions per serving.

WHERE IS IT !?
TAG GourmArt is located at Kamla Mills, lower Parel, its above PDT.

WHAT DOES IT SERVE !?
The vegetarian restaurant serves chef Ranveer Brar's unique creations that are inspired from cuisines from around the globe.

WHAT I LIKED THE MOST !?

TOMATO CARDAMOM SHORVA -
A sweet spicy tomato soup with a melody of indian spices and a pungent twist coming from the goat cheese.

WATERMELON SASHIMI SALAD -
A guacamole made with yam, served with watermelon and cool zingy umami glaze.

MUSHROOM GALAWAT -
Galawat ke kebabs made vegetarian by using minced mushrooms.
The twist of truffle oil made it uplifting and aromatic.

REMEN BOWL -
Wheat noodles in a japanese miso broth with eggs and bok choy.
Right texture and flavour, miso did not over power.

WHAT'S MY TAKE !?
Chef's signature creations are absolutely delicious.
If a vegetarian wants to try world cuisines, TAG GourmArt Kitchen is the place to go !

Chef Brar has created a fantastic set of dishes to appeal your tastes buds with Tag. Carefully curated art welcomes you as you enter... oddly relaxing your mind despite being right in the middle of one of the busiest commercial centers of the city. Almost every dish brings out a great combination of flavors that remind you how tasty our good old Indian food can actually be if you put all the right ingredients together. Most importantly, the food has great quality and a freshness that takes you by surprise. The chutneys/dips/sides are absolutely delicious!!

Good food which has a lot of instagram ability. Busy on Mondays too. So if you like you food served in *small plates" but with tricks and gimmicks you will love this place! Bear has really created illusion with his cuisine. Service 4, Information on food 4, ambience 5, food taste, presentation & quality 5, interaction with Chef Tembe 5, food quantity + cost 3.
We had ordered Mushroom Cappuccino soup with truffle, Kale Papdi Chaat, Watermelon Sashimi salad.....won't mention narration/entire order as they say the proof of the pudding is in eating it. So....what are you waiting for???

Chef Brar is here to win you over with his take on a marriage between Food and Art: aptly named 'Gourmart'!
To begin with the ambiance which is unique and amazing. You will spot some brilliant art work at the restaurant n it's on sale. The service was really good. TAG promotes small plates hence you cannot expect big portions of food. The portion size is a little smaller then expected but the quality of food that's gono come to your table will takeaway all your complaints. Presentation was bangon.

COMING TO FOOD -
MOCK BUTTER CHICKEN RAVIOLI-
Very well thought and beautifully executed. The taste was outstanding. Loved the gravy poured on the top. Sesame seeds sprinkled on the top were cherry on the cake. Big thumbsup to this dish.

DAHI KEBAB-
One of the best Dahi Kebab I've had so far. The yoghurt was sweet and had a perfect texture. It was dense and perfect. The outer covering was just brilliant. It was crispy and and had a good flavour. Presentation was mind-blowing.

AFGHAN MANTU-
This dish was highly recommended by the manager hence we decided to go for it. It was served in a small jar and was smoked well. The smokey flavour was so good. Perfect dish.

KALE PAPDI CHAAT-
The kale Papdi chaat was decent. Could have had some more flavours but not bad.

MUSHROOM GALAWAT-
Melts in your mouth as soon as you put it in your mouth. A little sour in taste but was good. It was served with 2 pieces of garlic bread which were perfectly done.

TOMATO OLIVE TIKKA MASALA-
To begin with- the presentation was outstanding. Coming to the taste which was really good. The paneer was cooked perfectly and was soft. It was topped with a gravy, I felt that the quantity of gravy could have been a little more bcoz when I had it with the naan served along with it, the gravy got over and I still had half naan left on my plate. So the quantity of gravy could be a little more.

CHOCOLATE FONDANT-
Stunning presentation. I was completely soldout by the presentation. It looked so tempting and sinful. The taste was killer. Couldn't stop eating it despite I was full by the time it came.

NUTELLA AND CHOCOLATE PAVE-
Yet another beautiful dessert. Running short of words to describe the presentation. The taste was good. Though it had dark chocolate it was still not bitter but perfect.

On a Sunday planned lunch with friends... I am sorry but the Menu was Not great at all .. extremely highly priced place .... the Quantity of the portion is on real sense just to taste or just Sample portion...and they have also mentioned the same in menu .... Not a worth place...
Sorry but atleast work on better Menu and also quantity of portions....
Otherwise the Cheffs will only keep on doing the dressings of the dishes and business will be taken away with much better options around .... .... .....

The Food Auror(Naila Kazi)
A vegetarian joint predominantly with a brilliant set up. They live up to their Gourmet name tag with the interiors, music not so much! We tried the Laksa Soup which was beyond brilliant, the tacos were quite delicious and the ingredients were really fish. Finished off with a dessert of the chocolate cake which was moist, dense and delicious!

Ranveer and I met for the first time at The Indian Networker just before TAG opened. It was lovely hearing Ranveer talk about his childhood memories cooking in Lucknow, winding his way through the gastronomic maise, and all the flavors people added to influenced his chefness. All this and I didn't know that our paths may have crossed in Boston in a previous lifetime.

With great anticipation we went for the first time for a special dinner of food and wine pairings. The prix fix menu made ordering a breeze. The courses followed a luscious path of subtleties washed down with white and red vineyard bouquets. The warehouse spaciousness around us gave room for our eyes to wander throughout the meal. From overhead cloud of lights, to open bookshelves, to stairwells, to a slit view of their alchemy, to all the lovely aromas around us the ambiance fit perfectly into a transceptual mold. Thanks Ranveer, we shall return...

Now this came as a total Surprise - On the Positive side. Was in two minds to visit this place. Reviews related to quantity was a issue. Going through the prices - guess its an Apt place to have a Gourmet Cuisine by the celebrity Chef.

An Art Gallery + a Small sitting on level 1. You can have a drink if the place is packed ( that's on another level ) Nicely done interiors. Subtle not loud and appealing to the eye. Hugh Kitchen where one can have a look as to how the Master Chef Plating is done. Overall this is a winner. We were a bit early to reach 8 pm , but by 9.30 it was packed.

Amazing Cocktails - Not really Old Fashioned ( No 7 , maple reduction , sea salt , bitters and Cinnamon ) perfectly made. Second was the Classic Martini - A good bar tender can't go wrong. It was done well.

Coming to what we had : Mind you , its all about Individual portions ( Please do not ask for One and share it among 2/3 ) And the Presentation.

Wild Mushroom French Onion Soup - Great texture. Broth done well. Sweetness from the caramelized Onion Gooey texture from the 3 cheese ( cheddar / Matured Cheddar and emmental ) 3 types of mushrooms and truffle essence to give the aroma. Not served piping HOT ( perfect ) Overall fantastic. Since i m a lover of French Onion for me it was NAILED. Must Order.

Watermelon Sashimi Salad - Cold salad , nicely presented. Its all About getting the Umani Glaze perfect. Basically slices of sous vide watermelon ( Compressing ) Yam guacamole balanced well. Toasted sesame (black/white) ginger-lemon ice ( tangy feel ) Overall very balanced and refreshing salad.

Mock Butter chicken Ravioli - Since this place is vegetarian , the chef has created some dishes which give a very rusty look. You do not miss the NON VEG texture. Here he has played well with the Makhani Gravy. This is all about getting a perfect Saag ( paste) of Kale. Fluffy Phullo stuffed with Minced Soya , topped with Makhani gravy and garnished candied Ginger and Cilantro. Lovely dish. Nicely balanced.

Dahi Kebab - a Delhi speciality and a must try. Just Melts in mouth. Its all about Hung Curd or Yogurt galette (again rustic) deep friend perfectly. Puree on top a bit of chaat masala and two types of chutney. Garnished with Crispy Mushroom Chivda. Overall sweet/Tangy at the same time subtle overall.

Afghan Mantu - Takes you to some bold flavors. This comes in a Jar. Use of Hickory wood to get the smokiness. It's all about balancing of Dumplings made of minced cottage cheese/tomato braised lentils and smoked yogurt. Nice Texture. Use of pomegranate gives that crunchy sweet nutty taste.

Kale Papdi Chaat - Wow , paper thin Potatoes ( baked ) were just amazing. Kale Fritters+paper thin Potato balanced well with a subtle chaat masala and Yogurt espuma ( smooth ) Tamarind and Mint chutney complemented well , pomegranate played its part. Nice dish. Do order.

MUSHROOM GALAWAT - dish of the DAY. Must order.Presentation - fantastic. Rustic look. Can't figure out if its veg or non veg. Mushrooms minced like a galawat Kebab with a hint of truffle ( aroma and enhances the flavor ) served with Sour dough crostinis and buttermilk lacchha. Garnished with cilantro. Spices/Aroma/Rustic look and the texture absolutely brilliant. Cannot miss this.

Naan Sampler : We do like our breads or rice with the meal. Here the chef has given you to choose 3 options from 4 to get a taste of the In house made Naan which come with Yummy Makhani Dal and a cold Dip ( can't get the name ) we ordered for BLUE CHEESE AND APRICOT ( Punch/sharp/and a hint of sweetness ) perfect. Second was ROSEMARY AND PAPADUM ( Not overpowering herbs just subtle in taste - ok ) CHEDDAR CHEESE AND BLACK PEPPER - Sharp and hit of spice from the pepper. Good. Overall a good dish. Priced at 375++ worth it.

Desserts :

Yuzu tart - its all about Japanese taste . Citrus. Yuzu Cremaux , coconut lime ganache , basil syrup , chocolate sorbet and meringue - to get the elements plated to perfection is an art. It was picture perfect. Even the dessert was Yum.

Pineapple 3 ways - Heard it for the first time. Saffron Braised Pineapple / Pineapple long pepper sorbet / coconut cake ( ginger hit ) with pineapple chutney. Garnish was of edible flowers. Go for it. Have Uploaded the picture. It was good.

Overall experience - Fantastic.

Must visit place - being completely vegetarian hats off.

Highly Recommended ;

Ps. they have a different Lunch Menu where they emphasis more on sandwiches and flatbread. Evenings its an elaborated menu.

MUST VISIT

CHEERS

So finally decided to visit this place. This place is perfect for its ambience, location, interiors, staff etc except for food. I found the food okay though the food presentation was great.
Also the place is kind of pricey and the food portions are not so big. I really had too many expectations from this place but it really dint live up-to it. Do visit once just for the chef run gourmet restaurant experience.

We ordered :
Kale papdi chaat
Dahi kebab
Naan sampler

Loved the concept! Art gallery on the lower floor and restaurant on the top floor! Very different concept. The menu is pure veg but has egg preparations. So please read the description carefully before placing an order in case you dont eat eggs. The variety is very less since the menu overall is not very widespread. But you will be taken aback by the creativity and the gastronomy of the dishes! We had ordered for the following:-
1) Afghan mantu- though I loved the dish and found the taste palate to be very interesting, I was disappointed with the quantity they had served. There were only momos inside the container that they serve in.
2) naan sampler- different take on the papad samplers that we get in other restaurants. They serve 3 naans which you can choose from their menu. We had ordered for the rosemary and papadum naan, vada pav naan, black garlic cheese naan. We liked the taste of each and every naan
3)chocolate fondant - a must order!!! I would keep coming back for this!! Loved it!
This is a very relaxed kind of a place where you can meet your friends or grab a book from their shelf and just unwind.

Horrible is the word...!!! Nothing more and nothing less about it...Only a pretty ambience cannot satisfy one's taste buds...You need to serve good food along with it...!!!

A one of its kind theme restaurant that is an absolute culinary delight.

Loved every plate of food we ordered. And yes! We ordered quite a lot. From soups to desserts, every dish at TAG was an experience I would cherish for long!
New refreshing place in the heart of Mumbai.
We had a party for 60 people at TAG. Amazing food and ambiance. The service is really to look forward to and Brijesh the manager does manage the place very well.

Very unique place. Innovative menu. Good ambience and courteous people to guide you through Menu. You have to be Heavyweight Foodie to try their innovative offerings. It's bit expensive but you won't regret after tasting their dishes. Can explore.

You'll love the vibe as soon as you walk into the art gallery - spacious, minimalist design, funky yet subtle. I don't think any other restaurant in the city looks or feels similar to this, and I would definitely recommend TAG for the ambience.

The food is experimental - although decent, it might not live up to the expectations of the typical Indian palate. Probably wouldn't take my parents here, but it's good to hang out with friends or for a date. The best part of eating here is the tiny portions that allow you to try a greater variety. Food presentation is artsy; or, to put it in a more relevant way, Instagram-worthy. Pricing is reasonable.

No drinks menu is available although you can get the basic stuff (mojitos etc.) on request. The service is pretty good and the polite restaurant staff reflects the enthusiasm of a new place.

Maybe random, maybe I'm the only one who cares, but given the whole art and design vibe, I hope they switch from the traditional black folder to a fun box or something for the bill. Little details matter!

Specifically - we were given a tiny complimentary starter - rice puffs base with tomato and onion toppings - simple but yum. We had the wild mushroom and french onion soup - it was not great, but also not bad at all. The burrata was well flavoured - I wonder if I could've asked for a little balsamic vinegar to go with it - might've been even nicer. The Afghan mantu was given a thumbs-up by my date who's lived in Afghanistan for a while, so I'll go by his judgement on that one. For dessert we had the Nutella and chocolate Pavé which is small but so extremely rich, it feels like a lot even for two people. Might be nicer with vanilla ice-cream / more strawberry roll-ups served cold. Yum anyway, though.

A bunch of other items on the menu sounded good, and I hope to try them out soon!

Stay updated @shallweslay on Instagram #selfpromotion

This place is such a treat for your eyes and stomach! You can't possibly leave from here happy, because there's a part of you that'll definitely be sad about the meal ending! ;) Their watermelon sashimi, mushroom cappuccino and Afghan mantu came highly recommended and only exceeded all expectations! I'll definitely be back!

This place is beautiful,They also have an art gallery for food art,Thank you so much for experience here at the Gourmart Kitchen. Here at TAG

Amazing food. They have 5-6 Jain Options. GREAT TASTE. Like the concept of art gallery and meal together. Service was spot on and they gave perfect suggestions. They are adding more dishes so can't wait to go again.

What a disappointment !!!
Went with such high hopes, but looks likes Chef Brar could not do justice to the food.
We tasty most of the stuff as we were 8 of us and not even one dish is as such that we can recommend.
Either the menu needs to be reworked or quality and quantity of food needs to improve.
Per head comes to 1200-1500 !
Nishita Chandra
This place is beautifully put together. The decor is subtle and this place has a very good vibe. They also have an art gallery for food art that is beautiful and a must visit for everyone who loves food art!

This place is heaven- for Vegetarians! And pretty damn awesome for Non-Vegetarians...! We tried the Naan sampler-the blue cheese naan is to die for, palm heart biryani-with these very meaty chunks for jackfruit and the most amazing Awadhi rice, mock butter chicken ravioli- perfect for all those converted vegetarians who are desperate for a taste of their old favourite, edamame hummus- can't quite describe the exquisite, subtle flavours of this one but don't forget to order it. The star of the evening however was the Mushroom Galawat- I'm not even going to say more on this- just go eat this.
And to top it all of they have the most stunning ambience, the most attentive staff and an art space filled with the work of budding artists that you'll want to own. TAG is something else, and the place to be if you want the best from your food.

TL;DR, in other words, if you don't have the time to read my long review, go and visit TAG today! It gets most things right, can do some things better, and is a concept that every foodie worth their salt, must encourage.

Ambience - 3/5. A very contemporary, New York like, art gallery/restaurant vibe. I can't wait for the 1st floor art gallery/lounge to open in January. I can easily foresee the space becoming the hub of a lot of contemporary art events; TAG being conveniently located in Kamala Mills. The 2nd floor dining area is done well, unless your expectations are set by some place like New York's The Modern. There's a wholesome and minimalistic, yet quirky vibe with a good selection of art and design that complements and doesn't overwhelm. The big reason that ambience doesn't get a higher score from me - the poor acoustics of the place. The rooms have concrete walls and the dining area had just one speaker on the ceiling, making music a little jarring and echoey. I also noticed some cheap, Yamaha speakers and no damping on the walls in the 1st floor gallery/lounge. TAG will need to do better here.

Beverages - 2/5. This is where we were most disappointed. We ordered a Lavender Lemonade with Hibiscus and essentially received a lemonade with curaçao. The Fresh Orange Juice Ginger Ale was better though not exceptional.

Main course - 4.5/5. Note that the entire menu is made up of small plates. Chef Ranveer Brar intends to change a quarter of the menu every quarter to continue experimenting. Also, everything is vegetarian. With those disclosures out of the way, let's focus on our experience!

My Wild Mushroom French Onion soup was good! Loved the three cheese bao in the middle. The mushrooms could have been hydrated a little more; they were slightly chewy. The soup was also lukewarm when I received it. However, overall, a positive explosion of flavor. The Kale and Mushroom Cappuccino was interesting but a tad too sweet. The highlights of the main course were the Mushroom Galawat (could have sworn that was mutton!), the Afghan Mantu. We got a sneak peak into some upcoming entrants to the menu - you will love the Beetroot Risotto! I will go back just for that.

Desserts - 5/5. Just when we thought the meal could not get any better, the desserts arrived! I had people in my group who have publicly stated their hatred for ripe jackfruits. These people could not stop licking their spoons after eating the Jackfruit Tarte Tatin. Unbelievably good and the one dish on the menu that nearly brought tears to my eyes. The Dark Chocolate with Beetroot, Fennel Olives, and Berries was really good too although the strong flavour of the berries suppressed some of the more subtle flavours (like the fennel). The Pistachio cake with Mascarpone, Sour Cherry, and Burnt Miso was a a delicate balance of some complex flavours that had me tasting and thinking, over and over again.

Service - 3/5. Friendly, helpful, and with a smile, but, could have been more proactive. For instance, if a table is sharing small plates, people's side plates and cutlery should be changed more often.

To conclude, this is a big, bold experiment for Chef Ranveer Brar. Vegetarian, small plates, are a risky move in a largely conservative, comfort food oriented urban population. Chef Ranveer's risks have paid off at TAG. Mumbai has been fortunate to receive a star in it's culinary scene. I strongly encourage every foodie to visit and eat there before reservations become hard to get. TAG isn't perfect, but, I only see it getting better as time passes. I look forward to that 5* meal there, soon.

The most disappointing customer service a restaurant can offer. I had made a confirmed reservation ten days ago to go for dinner on Christmas day at 8 pm. On the day of my reservation I get a call from them at 7pm, an hour before my reservation, saying that they do not have a table for me! After arguing and fighting with the manager they finally said that I could come by 8pm, but would have to leave at 9pm! I don't think any group of 6 can finish their dinner in an hour. Its really sad how they have no concern for their guests and their plans and how they can leave someone out hanging an hour before everyone is supposed to arrive. I don't think I would like to visit a place that has no respect for their patrons.

Excellent ambience .. Right from the walk through the art work to the second floor restaurant .. Good service and the food is mind blowing right from the presentation to the the time u get a bite .. Kale and mushroom soup, mushroom gulavat , Brie watermelon salad et all small plates .. We almost tried 80 percent of the small plates and had no complaint at all .. Main course just tried the palm biryani as we were full with small plates and the biryani jus melts in your mouth with giving u all the flavours ..So must visit ..

The place is quite small so reservations recommended. Food was nice. They have everything in small platters. So it is really nice as we can have more options to eat. Taste was perfect. The best part was Chef Ranveer Brar was there himself and was personally meeting everyone at their tables and asking about the food. Also they were very nice and gave us a one dessert free in our bill. The staff was very friendly too. Ambience was ok, not too bad though

A boring day at work led me to this newly opened place close to my residence. A fancy name, of course it has both Gourmet and Art, thus the place has to be a combination of both. It displays the work of budding artists on the first floor and has the restaurant on the floor above. We made a prior reservation to avoid waiting, although it was a Wednesday afternoon. We were courteously escorted us to our seats and diligently guided through the menu. With a mood to experiment, we went for all the recommended dishes and seriously had a good time.
Starting with Soup, we ordered a Curry Laska and a Kale and Mushroom Cappuccino. The Curry Laska, served in a beautiful soup plate was a delicately brewed thai broth with beautiful flavors of coconut that will make you slurp up till the last drop. The Kale & mushroom Cappuccino takes some time to grow on you, but if you are a leafy vegetable fan like me, you will love it.
The watermelon Sashimi salad was a delight to both the eyes and the tongue. It practically melts into the mouth and the dressing has this appropriate amount of tanginess that gives a boost to the palette. The Mushroom Galawat was a little too strong for me and missed the flavor of mushroom despite a perfect kebab texture.
In the mains we had the Palm Heart Biryani which has a perfect balance of spices along with beautifully cooked palm and jackfruit. The raita was great as it had cream blended along with curd which brought out a beautiful flavor with the rice.
Ended the glorious food journey with Smoked jackfruit for desert. It was a little heavy, specially with the custard & the caramel (which you will wipe off the plate, trust me on that). It was very different and first of a kind dessert i have ever had.
Overall, I had a great experience along with amazing food. Since it was the first night after opening, the place was graced with Chef Ranveer who was himself taking feedback and providing suggestions.
Must visit, especially if you are looking for a great experience or if you want to take your special someone out. Will definitely like to go back & try other delicacies.

Had some really delish and different vegetarian food last night at the launch of this cafe in an art gallery called Gourmart, where I also met so many of my lovely foodie friends. Apart from Chef Ranveer Brar who has conceptualised this menu, the stars of the evening for me were the Mushroom Galawat (totally melt-in-your-mouth Lucknowi kebabs with truffle oil), the perfectly made Awadhi style Palm Hearts Biryani with jackfruit that fell apart perfectly like mutton in a good meaty biryani does, and a beautiful, smokey Afghani dumpling called Mantu, served in a jar. The watermelon sashimi, chef's favourite, really had the texture and bite of salmon though I would've liked it better with wasabi instead of the tangy glaze. Other interesting dishes were the Edamame Hummus and the Butter Chicken Ravioli (made with soya-based mock meat) on a bed of some really scrumptious Kale Saag. This place will be open for dinner Tuesday onwards and does only small plates which you can pair with small pours of wine curated by Chef Brar. Loved the unique tastes, techniques and juxtapositions of flavour.
