This iconic eatery is "the best" seafood place i have ever visited. Variety of seafood dishes available hear. They actually serve different curries belonging to the regions of Maharashtra , Goa and the coastal Karnataka belt. Meen Gassi and Prawns Pulimunchi are some of the tastiest dishes on the menu. But at the same time, if you are accompanied by vegans, they will be facing the monotonous Punjabi veg dishes with little choice. But for seafood lovers it's a heaven
If you are a non-vegetarian then you must visit this restaurant. It offers a variety of starters with different concepts and recipes. Loved the way it was presented. And a big thumbs up for the chutney served with the starters. All the fish and chicken lovers especially from the konkan side will enjoy the variety of thalis served here. At the end a glass full of solkadi is a must after a fulfill dinner.

Being a native of goa this place is a food paradise for me! They serve goan fish curry, chicken sagoti and chicken sukka that tastes best with neer dosa!!! Living in Pune and a regular at SP Biryani I craved for a similar place in Mumbai n voila I found a better one. This is my kind of place where you get all delicacies from the coastal area of konkan. If you are a maharashtrian non veg lover and name any dish you liked be it fish be it clamps be it prawns you get it here. Earlier I didnot understand the point in waiting for an hour just to get in. And as soon as I entered I was rather sceptical looking at how small its boundaries where. But as soon as the plates were served on the table, they had told us to order evrything while we were waiting at the counter itself. Everything was hot and so well cooked although they must be serving like some 500 guests in a day. And EVERYTHING TASTED LIKE HOME. The kombdi wade the surmai fry, the clamps masala(i dont like it otherwise but here i loved it) and the solkadi. Everything so delicious. We were late to come and kitchen was closing. Yet in request they gave us some dishes we ordered and none of them felt like they were made in haste.
Guys if u r bachelors like me craving for non veg maharashtrian food do visit the place.

We ordered for 2 bombil and 1 pomfret thali. The wadi was well made. The fishes were fresh and well cooked. Only problem with the fish was the salt . (Personally, fried food with less salt is a big disappointment for me.)

If you stay around Dadar, this will be your place to be to have non-veg food. (Also, because then it is easier for you to find the restaurant.) They serve some delicious seafood coupled with equally good chicken and mutton dishes. Their Goan style food is worth all the money they charge you for. The prawn curry and bharla bombil here are every non-vegetarians delight. The place is relatively small compared to the crowd they have here on weekends. There's a lot of waiting time but nobody returns home. The service could be a bit quicker, only then it could be worth 1 more point.

If you are looking for extensive seafood, this is the place. They have many branches around but only this one serves alcohol, so if you wanna have a beer or two with your food consider dadar west branch.
Ambience was okayish with decent sitting and nothing fancy or over the top. Also, its one of the crowded place so booking a table beforehand is recommended.
I tried bombil fry, kokan fried prawns for starters which came in good quantity and tasted up to the mark.
For main we had clamps in dry coconut masala and promfet in harvi masala which was in gravy along with neer dosa and sol kadi. The taste was amazing and traditional Goan.

Please avoid ordering anything but seafood they are not good at it . Place is tiny and the ambience is okay , so unless your a foodie on a date don't think this place is for it , other wise this place is superb . Staff here is extremely friendly and have good knowledge of not just the menu but also what the customer is looking for . Overall a must must visit place . After hearing so much about this place finally decided to order from this place. Called for chicken biriyani the delivery was really quick only thing is couldnt order online from here and had to call them. Packaging was good but the taste didnt live upto my expectations and was disappointed hope this was one of case might order some other dish from here soon
Jai hind one of the best place for sea food lovers it has perfect taste of goan and Konkani style food. The must try dishes are pomfret curry , 🦀 crab tandoori simply amazing. Ambience wise it's not that great u wont get the perfect experience of fine dine but the taste compensate for the ambience. Must try place for all sea lovers go for it ..!!

Went here with my family on a Monday Evening.
Had paneer hilltop which was great. Ate egg biryani, which was phenomenal.
Surmai pulli munchi was the fish dish we ordered.
Also try the blackcurrant kulfi for dessert.
Service was prompt.
This place gets crowded soon so be sure to take that into account, you might have to wait for your turn. But a wait is well worth it !
This place by far serves the best seafood in Mumbai. Trust me. While you need to wait for a table, it definitely is worth the wait. But a tip, if you are not too strict with your meal timings, turn up at around 12 noon or 7 pm to get VIP treatment and no waiting.
Anything you order here turns out to be good , barring the thin curries, which I personally don't savour much. Highly recommend are stuffed bombil, bombil rawa fry, prawn tawa masala, prawn pulimurichi and for chicken lovers- chicken tandoori, tikka and not to forget, liver masala. Biryani's though not authentic are super yummy. For vegetarians too there are many options to chose from. You cannot leave the place without solkadhi though. The thalis are a smart option to chose. It's a small place but the food will force you to visit again. You bet?

Super duper affordable place and a true hidden gem. The service was really slow, however the place was packed and our server did his best with whatever little training he had.
The starter which was Bombil Fry was absolutely delicious and really fresh, however it did not come with any sauce or accompaniments like a Gajalee or a Mahesh Lunch Home. The main course we had was Surmai in a green sauce which had possibly the most yummy gravy ever, we wiped the dish clean with our neer dosa and chapatis!
All I'm going to say is that this place is so good that were going to be regulars here for sure.

One of the best places for seafood lovers and those who like local malwani or koli styled food preparation. They have delicacies from Coastal Karnataka, Goa also mentioned on their menu card but I feel for that you can better visit Mahesh Lunch Home. Here you must order malwani or koli style preparations.
Their signature speciality is stuffed bombil (bombay duck) and stuffed koli style pomfret. Regarding stuffed bombil and its variant bombil sandwich, these guys can easily file a patent.. Lol 😊. Its that awesome. In this dish, the bombil is stuffed with small sized prawns which they call "Karandi" in local language. Their surmai fry, rawas, bangda all is awesome.
I ordered here mutton sagoti thali and stuffed bombil.
The mutton was tender and the curry or rassa was perfectly spiced. I ordered to eat nachani bhakari with this. Their portion size is also good. It suits your pocket. And about stuffed bombil, I already described it above. All this was just for Rs.594.
This place is just within 1 km radius from my home. Another reason why I should be visiting it often :-)

Jai Hind is by far the best seafood restaurant I have been to in Mumbai. We ordered bombil fry, crab curry, prawn curry and rice. We waited patiently for the food to arrive and when it did, we weren't disappointed! The bombil was fried to perfection, so yummy and served with tangy green chutney and cabbage salad. The prawn curry was simply delicious and came with piping hot and soft steamed white rice. The crab also came as a surprise. It was cooked in Malvani style and the brown spiced curry did complete justice to the beautiful sea crab we had personally chosen. The food was fresh and absolutely lip smacking! The price was ok, I personally don't mind spending a little more than usual if the food is really good. The service was good, pretty fast and everyone there served us with smiles which also makes the experience more enjoyable. I would definitely go back to Jai Hind to satiate my sea food craving and recommend it to all my friends.

This is the fine dining restaurant at dadar oppsite Kohinoor institute. It is frequented by office goers. Do try the thalis that they serve. Personally enjoy their chicken Thali. Visited this place on Friday and had chicken Thali, prawns fry, surmai fry, basa tawa rawa fry. All preparations were very good. Also do try their Sol kadi which definitely can't be missed.

Decided to go out for a dinner date to Jai Hind Lunch home. Had an amazing dish of Fried Surmai and Goan Surmai fish curry with steam rice. The fish was absolutely fresh and it felt like we were having dinner by the sea. The ambiance is good but I feel it can be made better. Also the the place being very famous for sea food becomes a little congested cause of more people coming in. So place is something that could be worked on. Rest was great. Service was good. Had a great evening with some delicious Surmai! Would surely visit again.

We were in a group of six and tried tandoori chicken, Goan fish curry (Basa), Patra nu Machhi (Pomfret), Surmai tawa Fry, Prawn biryani, Neer dosa, solkadi etc.
Each and every dish was just bang on. Known as a seafood restaurant, this place serves some amazing tandoori chicken. All the fish items that we had were super yum. The fish was just so fresh and cooked perfectly. A special mention for the server whose recommendation helped us greatly. Easily one of the best places to have seafood in Mumbai!

.If you wanna try tasty , mouth-watering non-veg food specially fish in mumbai then this the right place . I ordered surmai in green masala with kombadi wade and plane rice . Surmai grevy was simple ,not so spicy , had light , smooth taste , kombadi wade was also good. We ended with solkadhi which was awesome . If you are craving for some yummy nonveg food then jai hind is for you. I will definitely visit again jai hind for chicken ... :) :)

The crab was full of flavour and paneer crispy was lip-smacking.
The quantity is too much and quality is very nice. Pomfret is fresh and soft. We pack pomfret curry and cancel the rice and the waiter was very nice. They pack it in nice container & fish was in good condition till in evening even though we pack in sunny afternoon
If you are in Bombay and craving something nice, simple but absolutely delicious try the dal khichdi here,its divine! Served with a side of typical maharashtrian Gujarati kadhi with plump red chillies. The rest of the vegetarian fare we tried was OK but this was a winner hands down.

This is a small eating joint for goan and malwani food . Out of all that i ordered the bombill fry was the best , crispy from the outside , moist and tender from the inside , super delicious. I did not like the tandoori pomfret , the chicken vindaloo had something missing - just spicy and no great flavours. Wanted to try the caramel custard however they had it on the menu only. Overall ok experience 😁

Neer dosa is a must try. Even if one does not have any gravy just have it. Nicely done.

Been here quite a few times now. Seating arrangement is good. Not very fancy though. Never tried the chinese here because the sea food itself is amazing. Chicken starters like Chicken Lapeta, Pahaadi Chicken are great! Must try. My favourite main dish here is prawns biryani. Prawns sarters are good too. Only issue is the quantity. Cappuccino/chocolate cocktail and Dead man Walking are my favourite cocktails here.
The seafood at this place came highly recommended by a friend and although its location is a bit far for Navi Mumbaities, decided to checkout on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
We started with Stuffed Bombil which was Top-Notch (prawns filling inside was a complete surprise) followed by Surmai Fry (very good). For Mains, ordered Prawns Malvani with Neer dosa and although it was not spectacular, it maintained the overall quality of dishes served. Washed it all down with Sol kadi which was perfect!
Look forward to my next visit here to try more dishes on the menu!!!

I would suggest you to select seafood over poultry anytime.
The taste is great and ambience is family friendly so is the service.they display king crabs outside for your selection.
The only downside is this place is too damn crowded so you have to wait a long time if you go unreserved.
Start with kashmiri and pahadi kebabs and for main course order promfet masala dry and scallop masala with roti and any biryani for rice .

This was my first at the Dadar outlet. I must say I was awed by the food. Had ordered for Clams and Neer Dosa, and the sheer taste and quantity blew me away. It was ever so juicy, and was a never ending dish. Was really happy with the service. And, thanks for the complimentary papad at the end. Would surely visit again.
If I have a meeting in Lower Parel or Prabhadevi area that coincides with Lunchtime, this is the place where you will find me. Perfect surmai thali. Do try stuffed crab, little high on calories but worth it. Malwani fish gravy also too good, try any fish. Even if you wish to taste some chicken. Service up to the mark and if you are waiting to take a seat they pre-book your order so you save time and make up to their less space issue.

Chicken Malwani - it was pretty good but could have been better!
Rice and surmai curry - the curry was very tasty indeed and fish was also fresh and perfect!

Humm mast wala fish milta hai yeha, to all u fishitarian sahi jagah hai, and yeah people like me jo red meat ke diwane hai aap nakhush nahi honge just order mutton chap with little masala, and I bet you will be completely lost in the tender meat. I mark this place great in term of food. Ambience is okay but it should not bother you if u have good company. The only concern is if u are driving parking is a hectic job and they don't have valet, other wise 5 on 5.
Nice place for non veg near dadar. I had been to this place several times with family, friends and office colleagues. It has never dissappointed me. You should try stuffed bombil fry, prawns masala wid neer dosa here.
Great place to visit in dadar. Decent ambience with good music. Famous for sea food. I orderd prawns butter pepper garlic, prawns masala, pomfret fry,bhakri and prawns masala which was really great in taste. All the staff was good.

I always make sure to visit this lunch home whenever I come to dadar....its specially my mom's favourite restaurant to dine....the goan dishes served over here are truly fabulous and almost all the dishes are served on banana leaf which adds flavour...

Just ordered chicken tandoori and chicken sukha.both were good.CHicken sukha had coconut based gravy.Tandoori was ok.HAd the same with butter roti. Yet to try seafood out here. Will definitely go for it.
This place is the absolute boss when it comes to seafood. One of the finest places in Bombay to venture for proper manglorian cuisine.
The staff is very polite. The food is delicious, the ambience is good and the fish curries when eaten with the neer dosa. It adds a different flavor altogether
They have multiple branches. Can't vouch for those. But this particular one at Dadar west is honestly a must visit.

Awesome sea food and the rates are quite reasonable. You should definitely try Crab Meat Lollipops, Stuffed Bombay Duck and Surmai Tawa Fry. All the gravy preparations are also good.

Sea food lovers paradise, chicken lovers dream and foodie heaven 😍 that's how I can summarise this place! It's a no fuss no frills restaurant that serves authentic coastal ie. mainly konkani and goan cuisine.
Don't let the location or outside area fool you. I was sceptical about eating here as it has a typical restaurant and bar sort of a setting. But ladies, u can order a drink and enjoy with delicious food!! All starters are equally good but special mention to tisrya suka (clams masala dry) and stuffed crab...Perfectly spiced and we'll done. Even though this place is famous for coastal cuisine, I tried the chicken spring rolls and prawns butter fry.. Equally good 👍
The chicken saguti (xacuti) and vade are tasty and spicy; just the way it should be. Try meen gassi with neer dosa, you won't find many places in mumbai that serve it this authentic. The service is quick and the servers are helpful.

Amazing surmai fry. Food is excellent but be prepared to shrink yourself in, the place tries to make maximum use of space. Very near to my office so works for me.

Great food. Great sea food. Though I am not a sea food lover but I can definitely say sea food lovers should surely visit. Had the mutton thali and prawns koliwada and they were both delicious. The gravy was rich and thick with the spices blending beautifully.
People who love Goan And Konkani food would love this eatery. Try the fish curries and also prawns. Chicken dishes are also worth a try. The Solkadi was also refreshing.
Recently discovered this little eatery in dadar.
What I liked about this place is the flavor in their dishes. It's nothing great but you can certainly visit this place when your looking to have a quick bite. The seafood here is good you will get your money's worth.
Ordered food from the Dadar outlet. Wasn't disappointed at the speed of delivery despite being in Lower Parel. Do try their Prawns Curry and Surmai. Also if you get the opportunity then do visit the restaurant once.
The place is quite famous, I was surprised to see fancy looking place when I arrived there. The lights inside scream shady. But the Place itself serves food that is par excellence. The thali'a s are brilliant and the menu has a lot of option to choose from.

I'm a personal fan of jai hind, as its one of those few budget friendly restaurant's that serve liquor and yummy sea food in Dadar. Being a popular place to have family dinners or even normal rendezvous with friends this place lives up to the sea food hype.
My personal favourites are the prawn pulimunchi accompanied with neer dosa, stuffed bombil and the clam sukka. Even their tandoors and fish thalis are good, I'd give their muglai gravies a thumbs up too. I don't do Chinese in such joints so I don't have much to say about the Chinese food.
If you're visiting soon I'm sure you'll love the overall vibes this place has to offer. Bon appetite :)
Its the best hotel I have visited... Burnt Garlic pot rice was lip smacking and the sparkling mint Mocktail was superb.. They have a wide varieties of mocktails.Service at its best.Enjoyed.
Visited the place last night. Great ambience with the fish tanks. The basa tawa and paneer chilli dry were very tasty. The portions were also good. Liked the fresh lime soda also. The Thai curry and plain rice was also yummy. The gulab jamuns for dessert are very tasty. Great place for a meal.
This place is phenomenal......been here twice. Unlike lower parel jaihind lunch home this one serves liquor and so the crowd here is mostly group of men over drinks and some delicious food.

I went here with family. Known for its malvani food, it never disappoints. They have revised their menu a few years back, so a lot of legacy dishes are not available now.
We started with the prawns rawa fry. It's a dish you never go wrong with when you are here. Next was an experiment, stuffed bombil fry with kardi prawns. This blew our mind! Highly recommended.
We tried their chicken masala fry and bheja masala fry with bhakhri. It came in the exact same gravy 😅
By this time, we were absolutely full. Though our little one wanted rice and chicken malwani gravy. So that was our final order. Again, it was really as per our expectations. We finished with a solkadhi a kokam and milk concoction with spices. It's good for digestion.
This is a small family space with decent if not lavish interiors.
The washrooms are small but clean.
The staff was courteous and quick. The restaurant was full even on a weekday. It's popular amongst locals.
Parking for cars here will be a problem, for bikes it's easy.
This place does not have nor does it need a wheelchair accessible ramp.
Pricing - For 3 adults and 1 kid, ordering 2 starters, 2 main course dishes, 1 rice and 2 aperitifs, we paid About Rs 1400. That's absolute value for money.

It's been one of our family's favorite joint for seafood for many years. We have eaten in the old set up and now the new set up too. Now it has become a hit amongst food lovers. It was Overcrowded as it was Sunday too. This time the experience wasn't that good as joy of eating peacefully was missing. . Standard set by Jai Hind is too high for years so we were disappointed as Food quality too has come down a little bit. But one thing that's improved is service. Staff is polite n accomodative.
With proper social distancing they have arranged all the seating tables . This place has a variety of seafood dishes to order. The staff is very well trained and is cooperative. Service is quick and the quality if food is commendable. Would definitely suggest all the seafood lovers to try this restaurant.

The place is good. general waiting time is around 15 minutes we have tried surmai , pomfret and prawns thali. Fish thalis were really tasty but prawns were just average. We also ordered veg dish along with naan which was also average in taste .
They have maintained the taste across their branches. Though number of tables is limited the ambiance and feel of place is good. Food rates are reasonable. Expect a waiting queue on weekends as the food is tasty.

Jai Hind Lunch Home has been very close to my heart since I was a kid. It's an old gem found in Dadar with authentic traditional sea food. I love each and everything served here.
We went for lunch on a Wednesday noon. The restaurant was packed. But the service is so fast that it hardly takes any time to get a table.
The restaurant serves a variety of Mahrashtrian, Goan, South India Seafood. The best place to go for a seafood lover.

It was the best Koliwada I had. The prawns were crisp and nicely marinated in housemade masala. And the quantity was amazing. Highly recommend.

This is the most famous dish here and a innovative one. The bombil are stuffed with small prawns known as karandi and deep fried. Goes amazing with their creamy chutney.
🔹 Chicken Pahadi ❤️💯
Again another gem here. The Pahadi is amazingly marinated in a creamy pudina feeling and well cooked. I always enjoyed this dish.
🔸Javala Pakoda 💯
I always loved the Javala Pakoda which my mum made so I was like why not give it a try. The Pakoda was crisp and tasty. Only that it had more of rice flour.

Thalis are like the specialities of this place. They serve a variety of thalis in non veg. We ordered the Pomfret Thali which had a fried Pomfret in it. They serve it with chapati and rice. We can ask for bhakri or Neer dosa instead of chapati. There is my favorite solkadi and a fish curry served. Everything in the dish was on point.

We then ordered the Chicken Sukkha to go with the Neer Dosa. It came in a small dish. The taste was good just like homemade chicken.
Butter chicken here tastes amazing with the Neer dosa 💯
Sadly they don't serve any desserts here as people get already full with the amazing dishes. Solkadi is recommended post your meal.
The best part was the service here. It was so speedy. Each dish came so soon and the servers are well versed with the dishes. They've been trained well and they make sure to leave you with a happy tummy.
