Review The Soy Story - Mussoorie

Lovely little place just beside Chick Chocolate on Mussoorie Mall Road. This place is also owned by Chick Chocolate. Had the chicken and veg momos here. Good momos. The sauce is nice and spicy and has the right amount of garlic. The staff is polite and service is quick. Should go here for momos. The place is quaintly designed as well.

We have tried many places in Mussoorie for veg and chicken momos, and these are the best by far. They were made fresh as soon as we ordered, and the spicy sauce was delicious. Highly recommend!

This place definitely deserves a better rating - had the noodle dumpling bowl and chilli noodles. Both dishes were excellent. Broth in the noodle bowl was so good especially as vegetarian. Older guy who served us was very sweet as well!

Decent place to try some Tibetan food. Although there was some confusion with our order but what came had good taste. The Bao and Ramen was flavourful.

#LATEPOST

#TheSoyStory is a sister concern of #ChicChocolates which serves #Chinese, #Tibetan & #Thai delicacies at #Mussoorie.. Beautifully decorated and bright hues hooks you instantly once you step inside - the pricing is slightly on the higher end of the spectrum but the food is worthwhile - the service ofcourse can be a tad better..

I was not too hungry hence settled for #MuttonKothayMomos (juicy and with pure meat filling) and a #ChocolatePancake (delicious served with home made whipped cream) - loved both the dishes to the tee..

I loved walking on those #misty roads of #Landour leading to the cafe.. 😍

My humble two cents: #MUSTVISIT whenever you are in Mussoorie.. 🙏

#MussoorieDiaries 🕺

#LifeofaFoodnTravelBlogger 💯

#ShotonOneplus7Pro by @frames_personified 🤝

Journey of an @epicureancinetrotter continues.. 👣

Thank you all for being a part of our Facebook family - @kolkatafoodtrotters ❤️

Such a pathetic place with unprofessional staff. We went to Chick Chocolate as I had visited that place during my earlier visits and really liked the food.

This time when we went to Chip Chocolate, the ground floor was almost full, we started managing our seating by joining to small tables but no one bothered to help us. Then we realized that there was some place vacant upstairs where an old couple was having lunch. When i climbed the stairs, the gentleman told that we couldnot sit there (the tone was kind of rude) and he directed us to the restaurant next doir called “The Soy Story” which apparently belonged to the same owner.

Now, the waiter took the order without knowing what is available and what is not. Later he came saying that one of the things were not available. We finally ordered one regular coffee and a black coffee which almost took over 30 mins. Not only this, they did not have courtesy to offer water. It was only when we asked they said that they could only serve bottled water.

Pathetic place. You should certainly avoid visiting this place.

A very small restaurant, one which if you’re lucky, you won’t miss ! :) I’ve had food at this place twice. Both times I have LOVED the food. Their food is full of flavour. My favourite dish is their Chicken in black bean sauce with some classic fried rice! Totally worth your money and time. What’s even better is that I always get the chance to drop by the very popular cafe (Chic Chocolate) for dessert and coffee on my way out since they’re right next to each other ! It definitely is the cherry on the cake.

Bao buns from Soy Story on Mall Road Mussoorie.
Had ordered Bao buns the only option in veg was crispy paneer with Sriracha mayo.
What we got was a gua Bao instead and it was way off from being a full fledged Bao in terms of flavours. It felt more like eating a burger with a kulcha as a bun 😅

The Sriracha mayo was a huge let down, since the flavours of Sriracha were missing completely. The Paneer patty was good and crispy.
The Bun was thin and felt like a reheated job not done properly. It was cold on one side and warm on other.
As the weather in Mussoorie is really good so there's a huge crowd, the Mall road busy with people enjoying food and shopping on their way.
Felt like having some Asian food so we thought of trying Soy Story. Me and @zenambrosia thought of trying out Bao. Now they had only one option in the veg one which was the Bao with fried cottage cheese and Sriracha sauce mayo.
The Bao we had was Gua Bao which is a bit different from the regular bao. It's origin is from Taiwan. Now presentation wise it was good but it would've looked better on a small plate. The Bao had two servings and the cottage cheese was crisp as promised. The cottage cheese patty was perfect as it was crispy on the outside with fresh cheese in mid but the Bao was missing the Asian flavours. It had a hint of Sriracha sauce which should've been more to uplift the flavour.
The bun seemed like it was reheated as it wasn't hot all the way. Flavour wise we were a bit disappointed because it should've had some Asian flavour to it.

Recently Went to this place in Mussorie and it was the correct decision. Coming to Food , Lamb and Potato Stew was actually quite unique in taste and presentation. I haven’t tasted that kind of dish ever in my whole life. Best part about the Dish was the taste and aroma of perfect flavours. I also tried their Chocolate momos that were amazing. Superb Food.

This place is right next to Chick Chocolate, and is run by the same owners.

To begin with , we had the Chicken Thukpa! It was yummy, full of flavour & the noodles were tasty too. However when compared to other restaurants, the quantity is a bit on the lesser side.

We also had chicken and cheese momos which could be easily skipped. The filling lacked any sort of “cheese” and were more ‘soupy’ than usual!

Overall worth a try !

Good place for food. But not exactly authentic in taste. You can certainly try this though. The location of the soy story is good but the place is comparitively small.

Well cooked noodles, oodles of veggies and the broth was very tasty.

Service is bit slow but the taste balances it all.

Must try whenever you are in Mussoorie

(I have taken videos and boomerang of the food and Zomato does not allow uploading them)

It was so nice to come across this place in Mussoorie. They are serving baos which were very good. I think the only place in Mussoorie doing them. They even have a bhutanese dish on the menu which was really good. And my all time favorite chicken momo's were excellent.
