Review Om Shanthi - Mysuru (Mysore)

Valliyil Govindan kutty
The hotel is one of the best for vegetarian food. The quality of food is good. Services are slow but ok. Staff is untrained that's the fact or probably unsatisfied with the management. That's what the message one gets looking at their faces. Very rarely one smiles. Ambiance is good. Near and Clean. One of the favourite locations for tourists hence it's always rush time here.

We went there for lunch this week. North Indian food was very tasty. However, it's the crowd that needs to be managed.. they need to add few more tables, and waiters. Also, inspite of calling themselves 'fine dining restaurant', it turns out to be 'self service ' because of all the rush!

The hotel is very convenient to stop by owing to its presence in the heart of the city. The food is great and the filter coffee is to die for. It’s mostly crowded so expect some waiting time. The only downside is the washrooms. They are not very clean and maintained. Heard from my family members that the ladies washroom was stinky. Otherwise the hotel is a great place to stop by for a quick snack.

Best place for amazing breakfast, dosa, Puri, and loads of options. The billing guy was rude I think he was temporarily sitting there so acting that way. The service guy was good after we paid a good tip. ;-) Clean with plenty parking for car.

We went for lunch. Food Quality: North Indian options available but not that taste. South indian thali is good and affordable. Service: Quick service. Wait: No wait time.

I visited this hotel for our Lunch, and we ordered South Indian Thali, The curries are in good taste but the rice is not boiled. Staff service is good.

We stayed here for a day. Hotel was located on main Street. Hotel has huge car parking facility. It has a restaurant and food was good. We had lunch over there. Price was moderate expensive. Rooms were clean and tidy. Staffs are good. Mysore zoo and Palace is just 1.5 kilometres from the hotel.

Being polite. Had veg meals with some sides. The taste is okay. The main concern is serving. Priced Rs.140, it doesn't match the ambience. Felt like in a small restaurant by the way they serve and the hospitality....in small restos, where the food would be far better. Need to improve the standard.

This is a nice veg restaurant in mysore with air conditioning. The menu was simple. Rates were ok. We had meals which was good. Meals had the regular chapathi 2pc, sweet sambhar, rasam, palya, brinjal curry, dhal, rice curs pickle and papad, badusha. I expected them to have famous karnataka sweet chirotti which was not available.

Went there for lunch, waiting time 30 mins, ordered south meals which was pathetic. Not worth.<br/><br/>Ambiance 3/5<br/>Staff 1/5<br/>Food 1/5<br/>Value for money 1/5<br/>

Good place to eat South Indian Food at Mysore. I have visited this restaurant in the last week of December.<br/><br/>We ordered North Indian Food along with Rotis and Rice. Quantity of their vegetable was bit less which was average in taste too. Rotis were good even though this restaurant is in south.<br/><br/>Staff is good but service is bit slow.<br/><br/>Overall Rating: 3<br/><br/>Ambience: 3.5<br/>Food: 3<br/>Service: 3<br/><br/>Cheers.!

Food Hazard - I got used band aid in the food.<br/><br/>I visited Mysore during a trip. been to this restaurant and they served dosa with band aid, which is used.

Had double thoughts due to the low rating but still tried the place. Food was good and the tea was just amazing. Courteous staff, quick service and decent interiors add extra points. Ample car parking space is also advantage.

I have coming here since 10 years. My family is regular Sunday customer for this hotel since 25 years. Everything is yummy 😋 here I was shocked seeing the ratings.<br/>

This place is not bad as it seems because of the rating. It's a decent place... The food here is good like 4 starts for it. The reason for people to rate it so bad is because of the attitude of the staff. Since it's a old place and crowd pours in always they staff is kinda off got the bad attitude. The other day when I visited I had asked for the bill and the waiter is like go to the counter and pay. This is a bad attitude towards the customer. If this keeps continuing then in no time the place will close soon<br/><br/>Only thing I didn't like is the waiters attitude. Rest it's a good place to eat.

Went here and had their lunch thali. Place is supercrowded and took time to get place in either section. Food was average. Seems to be a famous restaurant from before and hence still pulls crowd.
Harshita S
This place used to be amazing years ago and it has just sorta deteriorated .. it’s a pretty old place.. North Indian here is an absolute no no !! Nevertheless, South Indian breakfast here is pretty good!
Jegath Prabhu
Expected an extraordinary food, after seeing the huge crowd waiting for tables. But total disappointment as the rice was half cooked, tough time for kids to eat. The food quality was OK.. Sweet was good, ice cream sub standard.. Not recommend this place..

This place is definitely not as bad as it's ratings on zomato. This restaurant has been serving good since it's origin and shall continue the same. It is always a good place for a quick snack when you're around with your family.

This restaurant was below average. It was recommended by a friend and we had high hopes for this place. We ordered malai kofta and paneer and they both tastes old. This experience was definitely not the best and will not be coming back again.

Went with my family to mysore. Found this place on google and then thought to try this one out. Ut really turned out as expected. They have Great service and very fast delivey. We tried their many options, paper dosa, set dosa, open masala dosa, onion dosa, bonda sambhar, rava idly. Paper masala dosa was my favourite. And they served very good and tasty sambhar and chutney, qnd unlimited too. We had almost 5 extra sambhar cups. The staff was very patient and quick in service despite the crowd. Thank you for your quick service we could catch our train on time with our stomachs full...

Hi firstly I won't be polite or friendly as just 10 minutes before from now I had the worst food in this place.<br/>First we ordered butter masala dosa and the potatoes were smelly so it got changed with burnt dosa and<br/>The second dish we ordered was paneer tikka masala and came paneer mushroom masala no tast at all I would never recommend anyone to go to this place. Bye bye forever om shanthi. Waste of money of 1200 bucks.

Never try NORTH Indian <br/>The waiters aren't friendly<br/>Ambience is the only thing which is okay. <br/>The food was not worth the money .<br/>The take a lot of time to serve
Rajesh
Extremely arrogant staff.<br/>Mismanagement: you need to keep waiting behind other guests fo "catch" a table. No formal booking.<br/>In afternoon only lunch is served, no other item.<br/>The actual rates (140) and rates on menu card differ a lot.<br/>Taste is average.
Vasvi Saran
Despite all the bad reviews, we went to this place for breakfast. This one was the closest to where we were staying.<br/>We ordered 2 masala dosas and a plate of idlis and we liked them all! The food was good and within our budget. the place was clean and staff was prompt.
Meena Sriram
Snail service! anything less than that! went on the ugadi day, the hotel was full, less staff due to the holiday, they said. They didn't know to manage the crowd.<br/><br/>Otherwise ok food, ok ambiance, parking available.<br/><br/>

Pathetic food, rude staff but courteous management.<br/>I went Mysore on weekend and visited this restaurant. While placing the order my kid grab the flower which was on the table, the staff member who was taking order asked very rudely to put the flower down and said that the flower costed him 500 rs. He must have brought that rose from some other part of the world which costed him 500 rs per flower. When food arrived, he literally threw on the table as if we are asking for free.<br/><br/>Coming to food, we ordered tomato soup, handi paneer, daal tadka, naam and jeera rice. There was no tadka in daal, soup was really bad and not sure what was the recipe of that paneer handi. <br/>Really disappointed. <br/><br/>The only good thing was, when we complained to the management twice, they did not create any mess and we cancelled the entire order.

Had dinner from this place today , an hour ago. The food is high on price compared to it's taste. Especially , their Mixed Vegetable Curry. It had no taste at all. No flavour , absolutely nothing.<br/><br/> We have ordered their:<br/>●Chapatti <br/>●Mixed Vegetable<br/>●Green Salad<br/> <br/>Pros:<br/>★Decor<br/>★Ambience<br/>★Courteous Staff<br/>★Prompt Service<br/><br/>Cons:<br/>● The Food <br/><br/>

We visited when the restaurant was overloaded with people maybe due to holidays. We had to wait in a queue for 30mins. The service was very slow and even the food was not appealing. We ordered two variety of noodles and both were almost same, ther was not much difference between the both. The third dish(Schezwan fried rice) which we ordered was nice.
Gokul Mukundan
Worst place to be on weekends! No coordination. Normal table on sharing Basis. Staffs also not bothered unless u feel like bribing them! Do not recommend this place for Vegetarians.
Rishabh
Pathetic service.. The quality of food is not worth of money and the behaviour of Resturant staff is rude !! No value for money and customers.. worst experience
Devyanshi Shukla
Really pathetic service ... The food service is very slow you need to wait for long to get your food!! <br/>Even when you order a dish and the dish is not available they won't even bother to ask you for replacement..<br/>Very disappointing quality of food and service!!

Worst hotel I have visited. Paid 140 INR for palav and it was smelling like made up of some lowest quality rice. I spoiled my good mood after eating here. Service is worst.

What was originally meant to be a straightforward drive from Bangalore to Coorg (Kodagu) turned into an unexpected Mysore review as we decided to call it a night. In the morning, because I was staying at Hotel Siddhartha, we didn't mind trying our chance at their in-house restaurant: Om Shanti. Now, don't mind me, I really wanted to try all those delicious Idlis and Doaas here in the South, and I gotta say, it was a pretty cool meal. <br/><br/>I was always interested in trying a in Mysore, so here I thought I finally had my chance. Now, I didn't realize they don't call it that here, hah hah, how embarrassing. Regardless, their masala Dosa was fairly balanced, there was that trademark Mysore essence, but overall I don't think they did anything exceptional since it was fairly straightforward stuff. <br/><br/>I much liked thier , for once a sambar that was mild enough without compromising on the taste factor. The Idli was soft and fluffy while retaining its original element, nice stuff. Their red chutney was a genuine showstopper, but wait, maybe I'm just biased. <br/><br/>I'm generally not a fan of at all, but these guys absolutely nailed it. Needless to say, they have their own style of preparation that really comes through for me. The worst part is that, I don't know if this is the par quality here at Mysore or if they are exceeding the consensus. Furthermore, there's the fiery that was threatening to set my mouth on fire, it was absolutely loaded with green chillies, it's something I am usually okay with, so what can I say. <br/><br/>I'd say any visit to a South Indian eaterie without the mandatory cup (um, glass) of coffee would be a sin. While I'm not really a holy person, I still don't commit such Cardinal foodie sins. Anyway, I don't know if I'm a dummy because I don't get why this is rated 2.4/5. Maybe I just feel this way because all I've had is breakfast, but as far as a breakfast goes, I would surely hand them a three and a half, and leave it at that. <br/><br/>Oh, it feels great to unlock a new city. Maybe Bangalore would be next. Jeez, such pressure.
Hemavathi Mohankrishna
<br/>Not at all satisfied with the quality of food made here<br/>And no hygiene at all.It took so much time to serve a food with less items. There are no variety of food here

Worst place to have North Indian dinner. Waiters are rude they even don't entertain us. We order manchow soup it was pathetic & Then paneer handi, I never had such a bad paneer dish ever. Bcz of this bad taste of all ordered food, I decided to order dosa they told me dosa is not available now. Then I order veg cheese sandwich there was no cheese in sandwich.overalll if u want to eat anything other than South Indian dishes never ever visit this place.

One good restaurant in Mysore. The Dhosas here are the best. I had Butter Masala Dhosai and Akki Roti. Butter Masala Dhosai was excellent and I'd recommend it for all Dhosai lovers. Though the side dishes didn't impress, one can enjoy Dhosai. Akki roti tasted so good and the gravy given with it tasted very good.

Yet another dining place that was located near to the hotel we stayed at. The place was crowded and we had to wait for sometime to get a seat. After glancing through the menu, we ordered Masala Dosa, Sambhar Bonda, Cabbage Vada and two Masala Chai. The food was served quick, though that was a great thing the waiter kept visiting the table, again and again, to check if we completed. Also, brought the bill so early and it was evident that he was in desperate need of some tips. Nevertheless, we didn’t rush and after a while, he stopped checking on us.<br/><br/>The masala dosa was bang-on. Crispy, fluffy and buttery; the potato masala is to die for. The sambhar bonda was another good pick; loved the bonda impressed in sambhar. To my surprise, I enjoyed the sambhar as it wasn’t overly sweet. The cabbage vada was okay; instead of onions in Medhu Vada, they have added cabbage. The chai was perfect. We checked-in at the place around 5.30 PM so didn’t go for anything heavy. The quantity is good for a person. The quality and taste are decent. Service was a mixed bag. The bill was Rs. 225 INR, that felt reasonable.

Restaurant is part of Hotel Siddhartha and so you have decent parking, AC and non AC section to restaurant, ambiance and cleanliness is good. Seating capacity is big however it does get crowded.<br/><br/>As for the food, we tried the Mallige idly ( fluffier variant), Akki Roti ( actually dosa), paddu (kuzhi paniyaram), plain dosa and all these were good. All these are served with chutney,sambar,saagu<br/><br/>Service is a tad slow . Waiter  did keep coming and kept saying this and that ready :) however took sometime to reach table. Decently priced.

This place is crowded as hell. And because of so much inflow they don't care much about customer service. For tourists they is really a bad place, they make you wait like forever. <br/>After a long wait we did manage a place and got ourselves simple South Indian thali. <br/>Well balanced meal and good to go anytime. Taste wise good. No standouts <br/> But the people serving were disappointing again. They lied about their card machine not working and after continuos request he did agree to take card <br/>Highly disappointed by their professionalism<br/><br/>Ambience - 3/5<br/>Taste - 3/5<br/>Service - 0/5 <br/>Value for money - 3/5

Food is really tasty and the value for money, ambiance is average and seems to be popular place for weekend s as it's always crowded and you may have to wait to get table. They have A/V and Non A/C sitting plan , and obviously Non A/C is always over crowded and you may have to literally stand behind the chair to get seat. so is the issue with Parking as over weekend their parking would be full of their Guests staying in Hotel . Food is good in taste , I visited this hotel after 2 years and it has maintained its quality of food along with addition of few more items on cards.<br/><br/>Service is average but they were managing crowd over weekend so it's understandable , not sure how is business on weekdays. This Place is very good for breakfast with all local food variety is readily available.<br/> It's a place if you want to go  with intention of only eating. You will love  Indian food taste here.

Staying in a nearby hotel, where they served only continental cuisine and no local traditional food. Hence enquired and found this hotel. Before venturing, seen lots of negative reviews and arrogance of the waiters. It was a rainy day and the place is fully packed and 10's of people were waiting to seat. Lost hope and took a parcel of Akki Roti and Butter Masala Dosa. Both were equally good. Quantity of accomplishments like chutney, sambar and Saag were huge. Wasted a lot. Tasted the delicacy and it pulled us next day too.. Being a heavy rainy day, restaurant was half filled. We tried Kadubu, Akki roti and coffee. Food was extremely good for my taste. Luckily, the person who served us was very polite and friendly. Coffee's aroma at its best and i have gone for 2nd one. Overall it is satisfying experience. Be prepared, it is always full and congested. This is not a place for relaxed meal.
ABHIJITH SUDHAKAR
The Restaurant is part of Siddhartha hotel and is a single floor setup with A/c and Non A/c service Hall. Sufficient parking is available inside the hotel premises. Ambience is good and the restaurant is kept clean. The Quality of food is consistent through the years. Service is good and its a VFM place.
Abhishek Singh
Very bad experience. Waiters are arrogant, not all the dishes available. Worst customer service they don't care. Over priced. Will never visit again and don't recommend.

This is the best Vegetarian Restaurant available near the Mysore palace & Zoo premises. This restaurant is a part of Hotel Siddhartha, has ample parking space approx 6000 sq.feet with ease for 30 cars. This restaurant is filled with tourists. A/C hall of this restaurant is very cozy & upscale but usually a wait during peak hours and weekends.<br/><br/>Highly recommanded for Vegetarians looking for an ambient restaurant with ease parking.<br/>The restaurant is part of Hotel, with a separate entrance, typical of similar hotels of yesteryears in non-metro cities. The restaurant seating area is large, functional, well lit and roomy. The tables are set apart, so no feeling of crowding. <br/><br/>The restaurant is attached to the hotel serves piping hot idlis and hot and crisp vadas! <br/>The Samabar has a distinct Kannadiga taste. It is quite nice if you like the flavoring & taste. <br/>They also serve chow-chow bath which is a popular fare in Kannadiga breakfast menu. Chow Chow bath has rava upma/kichadi and a sweet dish also made from Rava.<br/><br/>This is a good place to visit if you are getting off the train / bus at Mysore and traveling further. You can hit the washroom, freshen yourself up, have breakfast and hot the road. <br/>It is about 1 KM from the Station.<br/>

Very worst restaurant. Tasteless food with expensive price. We asked waiter to recommend dishes and he told us to try mallige Idli. It was tasting like eating idli batter. Highly disappointed with the restaurant will never visit again.

Really bad service. No one cares for customer here. I ordered one North Indian thali, they bring it half, when I asked them multiple times to bring second half of it, no one was listening. Even when I asked them to give extra vegetables no one was listening even when I was ready to pay extra. Bad attitude of staff. Food was ok but I suggest to go some other place instead of this one if you want to enjoy or like your food.

We were looking for a place to have lunch & this restaurant was recommended to us. It's located very close to the Mysore bus stand. One can easily take an auto rickshaw & reach there.<br/><br/>The restaurant belongs to a hotel so the ones staying in the hotel are really lucky. The outer seating is meant for south Indian cuisine and the inside seating is for north Indian stuff.<br/><br/>We had ordered two north Indian thalus @ 210/each. It starts with a round of delicious tomato soup followed by a fully laiden thali which consists of soft naans, daal, pulav, plain rice, sambar, rasam, three north Indian sabzis such as aloo mattar, choke and paneer masala. Food is unlimited so have as much as you can.<br/><br/>The starters such as chilli paneer will also surprise you.

Horrible food horrible service horrible waiters...this place was a pathetic experience for me in a long time... The food arrived very late and it was cold and not edible. The waiter started arguing with us when we complained about the food. And then he was expecting a tip at the end of our meal.
Meenakshi Nambiar
A popular joint on weekends especially and one that I used to frequent growing up, the restaurant has unfortunately been unable to maintain the quality and taste of food. The only saving grace of a breakfast of unappetizing dosa, rubbish coffee and oil-soaked vadas was the chow-chow bath. Another example of a mighty legacy that has'nt kept with the times.
Venkatesh Rupangudi
It is attached to Hotel Siddhartha. It is centrally located near the zoo and they advertise a lot. Our family tried their food three times and I am afraid to say that all the three times the food was awful. It must be the only eatery in the whole world which does not know how to make a chapati. It must require good skill to make a chapati un-edible.<br/>The only reason it is crowded is its location and the drivers taking you to this particular hotel.
Abhishek
Disgusting hotel with awful food and service.<br/>We went there for a lunch with family but with the kind of service we received along with food it was a nightmare.<br/><br/>We ordered dal tadka , Handi Paneer , chapthi & tandoori roti. The food came in 45 mins and then they denied for most of the refill stating the kitchen is closed now.<br/><br/>I would highly not recommend this restaurant to anyone with waiting time of 30 mins for table and then for that kind of awe full meal with another waiting time of 45 mins.<br/><br/>
Prathmesh Bodas
In afternoon they served south or north indian thali.<br/>Pros<br/>Ample parking<br/><br/>Cons<br/>Food was not good.<br/>No taste.<br/>Too crowded. Don't know why considering food quality<br/>

The rating of 2 is given entirely for the ambience n nothing else. I had been there with my parents and husband for lunch. We chose to sit in the area that had an AC and ordered food n waited for quite sometime(no problem). The waiter placed a stack of plates and later the food we ordered on our table. On specifying to serve the food, he coldly said "everything is here, right? You can take it". In fact, the plates were not even distributed to each of us. So we did the "self-service" without an option. Coming to food. I wonder how this restaurant is even surviving! We had no other option since we are from Bangalore n as we were hungry, we did not have the patience to search for any other place. We then ordered desserts. I ordered vanilla with cream n nuts that cost 100 bucks and what i got was just a scoop of vanilla. I called the manager who was passing by n informed the same. N what I got was the same scoop with some mango sauce and some nuts on it. This is the first time I haven't tipped the waiters at a restaurant. Very disappointing. I don't think I'm ever going to this place again.

We went there for lunch. The south indian meal here is really amazing! I am not a huge fan of rice but the rasam was too good and helped me finish all the rice. Awesome food quality!
VG..
Worst food. No taste at all.. let me start with soup: manchow soup it was horrible.. i never had such a manchow anywhere dont know who gave them this recipe. Harabara kebab was ok sweet.. kaju paneer masala: had to hunt for 2 3 kaju in that again sweet.. i ordered veg handi said its spicy but again sweet... roti ok. Kulcha fine. Handi briyani was worst it was like masala rice waste waste.. horrible food. Waste of money expensive too
Achira Ladhani
Very rude manager...when asked whether they serve jain food ..he asked me to ask my driver.. When told we were self driving..he still insisted on asking our driver!!!

Pathetic restaurant and pathetic staff. Have never seen such arrogant restaurant staff before.<br/><br/>Staff - No star<br/><br/>I went with my family on 26th Dec for lunch. On entering we asked the person sitting at the reception for the menu. He pointed out in a rude language towards soft board which had only thali written on it. <br/><br/>Never the less we took a table, we got a bill of Rs 500. Since i had only Rs 2000 note i have it to waiter. He came back rudely saying give change. I told him i only have this note and no change. He left rudely asking go yourself at the counter and pay. <br/><br/>My wife went to the counter to pay, the manager at the reception took Rs 2000 note from my wife, put that in drawer and asked my wife in an arrogant manner to go and get change and then take Rs2000 note back. I was completely shocked at this behavior. Have never seen any restaurant treating customer like this before.<br/><br/>Food- 1 star<br/><br/>Would rate it much below avg. Ordered one plate idli, one masala dosa and one meal.<br/><br/>Idli was very hard to bite and quite overprised at 30rs per idli. Dosa and veg meal were also very average.<br/><br/>Overall experience its not worth going to this place, regret my decision

3.25/5.<br/>Been here for a couple of times during travel as a pit stop for lunch. Both times, I've had their thali. Reasonably priced at ~150 Rupees, the food is somewhat average to decent. Typical combination of south and north indian influenced dishes (has chapati, rice, palya, sabzi, pulav, curd, a sweet and papad). Food is unlimited. Their rasam is quite nice. So is their sambar. If you're looking for a reasonably priced thali option, and you don't feel like looking around, this is a good option.

We hungry mongrels we're going around the regal city of palaces, mysore one evening. Having skipped our breakfast and lunch we landed here at 6pm ready to just about hog anything inclusive of waiter if in case our food got delayed. But thankfully it was a lucky day for the waiter....<br/>Food - 3.5. Yummy South Indian delicacies, we tried the Akki roti, madras parota, paddu, paper masala dosa, masala idly... and washed it down with coffee and chocolate milkshake. And all of them were yumm, and pretty good. <br/>Service - 3.5. The waiter was very courteous and friendly and suggesting us options seeing how hungry we were. <br/>Pricing - 3.5 one of those places that still not incorporated a service charge. <br/>Ambiance and location - 3.5. just around the corner from palace, hence pretty accessible. The ambiance again was good.

We have travelled from Abu Dhabi today , based on reviews we planned to have r breakfast here the food was as expected but not exceptional!we being 3 couples have never had such a pathetic experience, guest service was worse than street stalls!!! Start of r holiday was ruined due to the arrogance & bad service of the staff including the manager!

I have a frequent visitor to Mysuru and this place is not very far from where I used to stay. The word of the mouth enticed me to visit this restaurant, located within Hotel Sidhartha. The place remains crowded for dinner, especially on weekends. I tried only the north Indian cuisine. The Paneer Butter masala is tasty, alittle bit of less oil would have helped though. The Chana Masala is also good. The dishes are pocket friendly priced. A good restaurant to try out atleast once.

I make sure I visit this restaurant whenever I come to Mysore. Right from snacks to meals whatever you try its undoubtedly delicious. There would be waiting for most of the times. Medu Wada, South Indian / North Indian<br/>Meals everything we tried was tasty.
Sushmitha D'Souza
Very poor ambiance and irresponsible cooks. I found a metal scrub piece (silver color) in the mushroom fried rice. The taste was quite good but I was disappointed by the service. Its not fair to pay and find out that all this while I had been eating/ chewing/ munching over a metal piece. Finally, when the bill was placed, I found the fried rice charges dropped. Thank you=) I am still petrified about the bits and pieces that I have already swallowed. Be careful people.

Firstly I would suggest all tourists to avoid this place... It's a shithole that all the people (guides/ auto ppl) will suggest you but i really dont understand the fuss around this place. Well we were visiting Mysore on a day trip from bangalore and after a bit of sightseeing, we asked a no. of people for good lunch place and they unanimously suggested Siddhartha hotel. So we decided to go the - if everyone is suggesting this place, it must be of some good. There was major rush when we entered the place and thought that this is probably a cult place in Mysore. But the service here is pathetic (i don't really know a superlative to that!!!) We had to wait for like 30 mins with now management of the people outside. And when finally Wade through that , the food - it's a disaster; probably one of the worst meals i have had in my life . We ordered North Indian. The food was cold - not warm but cold . The roti looked like they had been waiting to be served forever. And when we told the waiter about it he actually said "sir, kitchen closed. You please adjust , else I can get the bill" . The place was like jam packed and they just wanted to clear tables. Also, if kitchen was closed what was a waiting crowd doing outside - queuing for dinner? I understand some hiccups in food and service on a busy day like that but this was just a whole new level of pathetic..

Om Shanti Restaurant, Hotel Siddartha, Near Hardinge Circle, Mysore<br/><br/>"When North meets South"<br/><br/>Om Shanti restaurant is located in Hotel Siddartha campus near Hardinge circle. This place which is usually crowded wasn't houseful yesterday. There is regular and AC Hall there. In regular hall they serve only South Indian Thali so if you want to try North Indian cuisines you have go to AC Hall.<br/><br/>Menu is quite elaborate with decent pricing but pricing of some items seems weird for ex: a plain Nan will cost you 35rs where as buttered version is 60rs which is almost double!! I thought of having North Indian Thali as I was alone and I could try more delicacy.<br/><br/>North Indian Thali is priced 210 (+ taxes) which is little expensive though for the ambiance and service. The Thali here is same like other restaurant but the course is huge, it consists of all items which is usually served elsewhere along with a bowl of plain rice, sambar, rasam, curd and pickle. So you will get a feeling of having both North and South Indian Thali at the same time!! So one has to have very good appetite in order to complete the food.<br/><br/>Taste is nothing extraordinary but not bad either. Loved the thick yogurt which was fantastic, Mysore pak was good, Kulchas were ok , except Paneer curry other 3 curries were average. Rasam was tangy and tastier, Pulav was impressive.<br/><br/>Ambiance is good but service is mediocre, not a bad choice if you are around suburban bus stand or palace. After having such heavy meal, my stomach just wanted one thing 'Om Shanti' :D<br/><br/>Taste: 3.5/5<br/>Ambiance: 4/5<br/>Service: 3.5/5<br/>Value For Money: 3.5/5

Was here for breakfast today and had ordered idly vada sambar and bisibele bath and here is my take on it.<br/>Both these dishes were the usual nothing extraordinary however I felt the vada was overprice at Rs 36 for one piece. <br/>Coffee can be ordered as one by two which is convenient <br/>Overall 3/5<br/>Taste 3/5<br/>Service 3.5/5<br/>Ambiance 3.5 / 5<br/>

One of the most horrible dinner experience in recent times , pathetic service supported by equally bad food makes your family dinner get-together a nightmare. DISAPPOINTED!

Having not too many options to try around the place we settled to have dinner here. The whole place was jam-packed but we managed to find a table. We had Onion Rava dosa and Idly. The dosa lacked the crispness and it was nowhere near to be called a rava dosa. The idlys were soft and good along with the chutneys they served.

Worst service from all servers.. food quality is okish... no proper menu and management too... interior alone good...lot of things have to be improved

Attached to Hotel Siddhartha, it has been the compulsorily-visited restaurant for our family since more than ten years. Pure veg, also serves north Indian food in their AC-ed room. For people hailing from Bangalore, it is very reasonably priced. Had south Indian meal which had yummy sides including Brinjal curry, dal, rasam and beetroot palya, along with 2 chapatis, rice, papad and super fresh pineapple kesaribaath. Super filling, decent taste.<br/><br/>Thank you.

Very poor food and equally bad service. We ordered Paneer Butter Masala and there were no paneer in it with gravy tasting like made years ago and preserved.<br/>
Rajesh Srinivasan
Poor customer service and no queue management during rush times. <br/><br/>Food was tasty and I wood recommend there rava and malligai idly. <br/><br/>Service can be faster.

First impression was it is afternoon with tons of people,I was not disappointed.<br/><br/>Thali rates mentioned outside was 120,once we came inside ,the rates was 180 and 210 for south and north Indian thali,disappointing.<br/><br/>There were similar items given in both the thalis, whether it was profit-generating scheme, certainly was.<br/><br/>Worst part the North thali was supplied with Rasam and Sambhar. First Worst and last North thali to eat here. It was not filling, nor satisfying nor worth for it's money.

Yes, this restaurant deserves an average rating. I have been here once and tried south Indian menu which was ok. This time I opted for North Indian menu in there AC restaurant. Though ambience was Ok. Service was dead slow. May be because of weekends. Food we ordered was Paneer Punjabi Masala and Chana Masala with Chapattis , Tandoori roti and kashmiri pulao. Food was below avg. <br/><br/>Taste : 2.5 / 5<br/>Ambience : 3 /5<br/>Pocket : 2.5 / 5<br/><br/>

Pathetic - To sum it up in One word.<br/>I really couldn't understand why I had to wait in a queue for 10 mins to eat at this place.<br/>Service - Poor. Customers are taken for granted. We had to ask 5 times for a simple lime soda, and a couple of other things which we got fed up of and stopped asking for.<br/>Food - Joke. We were a group and ordered few North, South thalis and Chole batooras. North and South Thali were exactly same except for couple of food items. Chole bathoora was average.<br/>Price - This was the shocking part. For a food that is so below par, the price was rather high, in the range of 180-200 for Thalis.<br/>Ambiance - Very average.<br/>Enough said. I don't even want to recount the experience. Thank you.<br/>I am a Mysorean and it pains to see a hotel like Siddhartha stooping down to this level, and yet people waiting in queue to get in. I can only shake my head.

Worst experience. 3:30 PM is their closing time. They don't even inform you. Managed badly. Waiters were least interested in serving us as we reached at 3:15. Only chapati was available in roti section. With rice only rassam was available. Food quality was not up to the mark. Highly disappointed.

Nice cosy place for Mysuru South Indian dishes. Had Rava idli Aki Roti, half set dosa and Mysuru masala ( shared with my wife Geetha). All were top class. The chutneys were average and not to my taste. Pure taste didn't emerge from any of the accompaniments. The ambience was good and it is a family outing place.

Standard location for locals and visitors to Mysore. Good South Indian thali, though pricier than average. Service is prompt. Plenty of space to sit, including a family A/C room.

Worst service ever experienced. The waiters are least interested in servicing you. Most of the items on the menu is not available, this information is conveyed to the customer with great pride. Given feedback on both occasions to the restaurant manager is pointless.<br/>

Excellent coffee and tiffin.<br/>We kept polishing off whatever we had on our plates with astonishing speed. Do try their masala dosas. The filling is scrumptious. The accompanying sambar and chutney is perfect.

Its a popular eat out place in Mysore and usually crowded. Its currently under renovation, so don't expect great ambiance. But the food is really tasty and reasonably priced.

Visited the restaurant as there weren't many options around Mysore zoo. The place was big, spacious, and fully packed even on a weekday (afternoon). We had to manage and find a place by ourselves as the staff was too busy in serving others. After finding a vacant table we requested the waiter to have someone clean the table, but he very arrogantly replied that the restaurant is crowded and it will take time. We finally settled and ordered for food - thali, one paneer sabji, rotis, biryani, etc. Out of which only the thali was decent, rest all the dishes were a big NO. <br/>Poor service, very arrogant staff, average food.<br/>Hope they work on their negatives to make the restaurant a decent place worth visiting.

Really Bakwaas food. Brought a really oil dripping papad when ordered masala papad. Rava dosa was half burnt. <br/>Then for main course came Paneer tika Masala. Roti and naan were barely OK. But sabzi was just Paneer boiled in tamato juice.. No taste. And the cherry on top was hair in the sabzi... Worse then a road side dhaba... Get a better staff people. At that point I just decided not to finish my food for the first time in my life.... Don't go please....

Very good south Indian food.<br/>Bisi belebath chowchowbath must try in snacks.<br/>South Indian thali does justice.<br/>Chinese is not up to the mark.<br/>For all coffee lovers namma filter coffee is there with splendid aroma kindly do try it.

if you are visiting Mysore and looking for a good vegetarian family restaurant, look no further. Only thing while looking out for this restaurant is to ask for Hotel Siddhartha.<br/><br/>Seems to be renovated recently as the place looks very clean. It gets crowded by 1 pm for lunch so better be there by 12:30 to avoid waiting.<br/><br/>Food we ordered was tasty and service was prompt too.

July 2012 ( vacation memories before I started writing on zomato) <br/><br/>A popular hotel for tourists with mid budget range dining menus. We came here twice while staying at the GINGER, it's extremely crowded and you need to wait ten to fifteen minutes to get your alloted table. Interiors are nice, vast and service tends to vary depending on the crowd. Best to go for the South Indian thali, served fast. Full and wholesome though the garlic content was high. Apparently very popular with Gujarathis and Marwaris as they make Jain dishes. The dosage and vadais taste different then the ones in Bangalore. Less crispy and tge masala mix slightly sweeter and more onions. My boys I think had their usual subzi rotis ...try telling them to have bisse Bhele Baath in Mysore .. Haila !!!!
Thrilling Treats
Went for an afternoon lunch. Place was jam-packed but got a place to eat quite quickly. Their thali has garlic in everything, was what we were told, and were suggested to go a la carte. Very limited non garlic options which took like close to 40 mins to serve us what we had asked for. The food was very very bland, they had added whole pepper and whole brinjals to baingan bharta. Don't even know what they were trying to cook. The place is clean and well maintained. Loads of tourist buses stopping by, so they are here to stay.
Anand Malviya
awesome place, awesome food, awesome drinks, awesome service. the only drawback is you have to wait a long time to get a place to sit and eat. if you are taking a parcel, it's better, wait time will be less. medu wadas are very fluffy. not being a south Indian and visiting a place like this, makes you fall in love with these south Indian delicacies. Must visit even if you don't want to.

I was scared because I saw the reviews in zomato after checkin but my luck, it is not bad as rating suggests. 2.9 <br/><br/>My personal opinion - good food<br/><br/>Worth the money, Naan was overcooked a bit but mushroom gravy and paneer butter masala was good.<br/><br/>My dad tried south indian thali and even he had no complaints.<br/><br/>Do try and you will come back without any regrets.<br/><br/>

Very bad service. The way they behave is like they are offering some free food. Food taste was OK. Ordered a masala dosa and waited for 10 minutes and still we didn't get it, when checked with the waiter, he said another 15 minutes. The tables with more number of people get food first, even if they ordered after you.

We hired a car n the driver suggested this restaurant. We knew he wouldn't suggest anything if there was no commission for him in it, but we didn't expect him to get us to such a bad place. Taste of food was ok. Table was dirty. BUT, every single item that came on our table was cold, not even warm, just cold. Who has cold sambhar? 4 times we asked for hot sambhar but he didn't get it. Unfriendly service. We informed the waiter n another head of his that everything that came in the table was cold; he denied n disappeared. No replacement ofcourse, but no acknowledgement also. Half the things on the menu were not available. Never suggest this place to anyone.

I had been advised by some of my friends to try out Om shanti restaurant. After visiting and having a dinner, my thoughts: AC dining ambience is good. Ordered hara bhara kabab, paneer Patiala and tomato dilbahaar along with a basket of chapattis. The taste of the food was very good and the paneer felt really soft and fresh. A bit costly, but can always be tried out for a great vegetarian cuisine.

This is a good place for vegetarians, especially people looking for Jain food (Food without onion and garlic). The place gets very crowded on weekends.  there is ample parking space and it's easy-to-reach. Food is average, service may be slow because of the rush. They didn't have many of the items available, may be because we reached there when lunch time was almost over.<br/>Nice place for vegetarians. Worth a try.<br/>EDIT: Went there again for lunch on a Thursday. Service was better this time.<br/>Recommend : Veg biryani, Dal fry

There is nothing special about this place. Tried medhu vada for the first time and didn't find it any different from a normal vada. Their masala dosa was decent and so were their idlis, liked the rasam though. Would not recommend this place
Poorva Vaidya
We were staying at Hotel Siddhartha so this was a feasible option for meals. The South Indian thali is a must try, especially after the tiring sight seeing. Their fresh lime soda will go excellently with it. The Punjabi and Chinese cuisines are equally good. <br/> There was a lot of crowd, given the weekend. Even so, the staff was quick, efficient and friendly. Loved the place (:

The first time ever in my life , i ate a hollow Medu Vada..... at this place. In an effort to keep it soft the kitchen staff ended up adding so much soda i guess that it would have floated on water , if i had tried... for all the hype, the quality of the food served was very disappointing..... not recommended for a visit.

Place looks really nice, but the price and portion size is not typical of indian food :( the food was just so-so but the service was very quick
